It started when you were about twelve. You'd been alone since you were born; having no one of your own. Until this man named Wilbur decided to take you to be his own.

You'll admit, it took a long time for you to call him Dad. It was clear he was trying to make you comfortable, your room was decked out and you had everything a little girl could ever wish for.

A full sized bed all to yourself, a nice desk and computer, and tons of toys and stuffed animals.

The day you came home was definitely the most tense. "Hi, love!.. It's nice to meet you." He smiled, crouching down so he could be on your level. "Hi.."

You were very shy towards him for a long time. You were used to everyone leaving, but after some months, it was clear he wasn't going anywhere.

He would tell you stories of how he used to be in a band and go on tour, how he blew up a country (you're still confused about this one..), and how he has a lot of people that are his fans. He was really cool!

Eventually, you'd started calling him Dad. The first time you did, he could've cried. He knew you weren't the most comfortable being somewhere so unfamiliar with someone you don't really know, especially when that someone is now your caregiver.

One night while making dinner, he'd called you his little sunshine. This nickname stuck through thick and thin.

"Sunshine? Could you grab that for me please?"

notes : aaa of course!! i hope you like these :D. i wasn’t sure if you meant caregiver wilbur and reader headcanons or him with other ccs. so i hope me doing him with other ccs is okay!! (since i did put in my rules that i don’t do x reader type things with mcyt c:)

extra : keep in mind these are based on the persona he puts on, i am not forcing this on his irl self nor am i starting he does this :D.

- he’s the caregiver for tommy and occasionally techno. he will babysit other littles if they need it but he prefers to just take care of the two he has. (no offense but they can be a handful, but he doesn’t mind)

- he’s very patient whe his littles act out, but he does enforce rules. he makes sure they take care of themselves.

- he’s a musician, so of course he sings songs to his littles. plus they ask for him too like, all the time. but he usually sings to them right before bed, it usually makes them sleepy and helps them go to sleep.

- gifts !! he doesn’t spoil his littles particularly, but he does send them gifts when they’ve been extra good. plus, he loves seeing their happy faces open the present on facetime. he usually sends stuff like sensory toys, new games, etc.

- he adores pet names and will use them constantly. his favorite one to use for tommy is “bubs” and for techno its “little one”.

- if his littles are upset he’ll try his best to soothe them down by watching their favorite show with them or just telling them it’ll be okay. after all, there’s only so much he can do when he’s miles away. but if he does get to see them, he cuddles them and makes them their favorite snack and listens to them get everything they need to, out.

- his littles like to perform with him, and by perform i mean play with toy instruments. but they have so much fun when wilbur sings along. he bought them both toy instruments when they asked to sing/play with him. in fact, they all have matching cat keyboards.

caregiver!cc!wilbur headcanons!

He can and will sing to his little(s), sometimes even play guitar for them if they want him too.

He caregives primarily for Tommy, but also frequently babysits for Tubbo, Techno, and any of his other friends who may need someone to look after them.

Since he doesn't really live near anyone who he caregives for, he's become a bit of a master at digital/distance caregiving.

He uses a lot pretty common and sugary nicknames. 'Sweetheart,' 'love,' and 'darling' are all in frequent rotation.

He calls Tommy 'sunshine' when he's being sweet with him and continues to call him 'gremlin' when they're being playful.

He tends to be very soft and lenient with regressors, much preferring to encourage/reinforce good behavior than to punish or be stern with bad behavior.

Even when he does end up having to put his foot down, he's still as gentle as he can be while still being effective. On the rare occasion that he does have to scold or give a punishment, he feels really bad and afterwards he reiterates over and over again how much he loves them and how he's not mad at them.

He'll mail them all sorts of gifts. Tommy has an entire drawer's worth of trinkets from Wilbur, plus some stuffed animals. Most of his actual agere gear was ordered to his house by Wilbur. He's absolutely more than rich enough to get his own, but it makes Wilbur feel happy and having the surprise is nice.

When Wilbur DOES have the opportunity to caregive in person, he's SO cuddly and physically affectionate and doting.

He has a pretty specific Caregiver Headspace that he gets really immersed in, even more so than most caregivers. Caring for regressors is really soothing and re-centering to him, and he honestly gets just as much out of caregiving arrangements as the regressors do.
