Being a full-time artist can be lonely. It's a lot of putting yourself out there, pouring out your cup creatively, and holding your breath when you make the results visible to the world.
Creativity isn't as easy to force as most other jobs. You're in your own head, unprotected, and it's so easy to notice when it suddenly "stops working". When you get too fed up, dysregulated, tired or sore. When the pen is suddenly too heavy in your hand or looking like a mighty fine projectile.
Creating is a honed skill as well as a muscle to flex. Using it takes focus, thought, intention. It fatigues, like any other muscle, and requires rest. You can't force it effectively, and trying can do more harm than good.
Yet, the world as it is today would demand that it be available and high quality - 24/7. It is endlessly hungry for a metaphorically limited resource.
Being a full time artist sits precariously on this juxtaposition of supply and demand. How much of myself am I willing to drain?
Positive feedback is rapidly overcome by the cacophony of things to keep up with. Refilling your own cup is so important but there's just never enough time. And even when there is time, marketing has taken a mental toll and ruled out further socializing.
It's a delicate balancing act, to put it lightly.

why aren't there more mysteries that take place in nursing homes & retirement communities. i want to watch a group of deranged retirees-cum-amateur-detectives combine their powers of:
decades of life experience
boredom-fueled busybody shamelessness
access to the most gossipy next-door-neighbors in existence
"I am too old to be arrested and/or give a shit" attitude
and solve crimes. this should be an enormous subgenre.

I did a little something for @hd-fan-fair 😊😊 I hope you all like pet sitter Harry and wildlife illustrator Draco!!!
Special thanks to @bubble-gumhead, @orange-peony and @avenueofesc for encouraging me to participate, you guys are the best 💕💕💕
Based on this prompt:
Draco has received news of a rare magical creature sighting and has been called in to illustrate the animal and it’s natural habitat/den. Only problem is: he can’t find anyone to pet sit his beloved animals and seeks outsider help by hiring a pet sitter through a wizarding company.
Enter: Harry James Potter, pet sitter extraordinaire and living his best life hanging out with animals all over Britain, enjoying the vast and interesting towns and houses he finds himself in.
Draco, loves his animals so much and asks to have regular contact through letters.
Letter's text after the cut
Dear Potter, I am writing to ask for your help again to take care of my pets. Unfortunately for me, they seem to have grown on you and they have been misbehaving with any other pet sitter. I have no idea why they speak fondly of you and find you so charming. Nevertheless, I was pleased to see that they were in good hands last time.
I hope you have a good rest and enough energy since the next seventy-two hours you will be dealing with their curious, mischievous, and overly friendly nature.
Until next time,
D. M.

"Congratulations on your new commission, Captain."
(Chain of command who? Rex is out of the 212th, has his own Legion and Company, which means he is free to flirt with)
I couldn't not do this prompt as well, it was too tempting!
Polyamorous/platonic poses for sketching
and the other drawings I’ve made for them
