I don't think giving sunglasses to someone who can barely see already isn't that great of an idea. Not even normal glasses would probably help.

With how much of a weepy beepy he is, are people (other than Loop, who isn't really people anymore) hesitant to touch the King?

Well... yes and no?

King often shows affection in a very physical manner, so all the family know he' ok with touch and hugs (though, he prefers if you warn him first, and spare him from the scare). The best way to comfort him is to hold him tightly.

When it comes to strangers, though? People at times try to give him a friendly pat on the shoulder, or other such show of affection, but stop because of the look he shoots them. He's just... very intense, and people get intimidated.

i've always been a fan of the king as a pathetic wet dog that is always shockingly hard to hurt in a meaningful way. i want to drop him down a well and listen to the whimpers and metallic clangs of his descent before he has to try to clamber up the brickwork only to fall several more times before we finally let down a rope to save him
