If you are struggling to see progress in your disability (that is meant to be getting better) a good way of looking at it, is instead of looking for more good, look at the less bad!
For example I have meltdowns regularly which is bad, not good, but about a year and a half ago I used to have meltdowns multiple times a day for in total about 3-6 hours every single day!
I find it easier to look at this as things are just getting less bad, than things are getting better. Which may not make sense to a lot of people, but thinking about it like this has helped me feel a lot better about my progress with things :D so I thought i'd share incase this helps someone else!!

chronic fatigue from mental illness and neurodivergency isn't something you can just will your way out of. your nervous system is part of your body. your brain is an organ. the fatigue is real. you're not lazy. so be kinder to yourself. be gentler with your bodymind.

Autistic meltdowns aren't synonymous with temper tantrums, by the way.

You're not autistic, you're just a little silly!
And you cry when people change things but that's unrelated-- :D

for the love of whatever you believe in please listen to disabled people. when i tell you that i can't do something it means that I CANT DO IT!!!!
"you can do so much more than you think" what if... and hear me out on this.. what if i actually know best about what i (me) (myself) (the person who you are talking about) knows best about my own abilities and what i can and cant do???? what a crazy thought huh???

in another life, i find out i am autistic at 12 instead of at 29. i am still bullied, but my parents put me in another school. i get the support i need. i find friends who love me for who i am. my mom and dad don’t yell. instead, they comfort me during my meltdowns. they support me. i grow up knowing who i am, what i am, and i learn how my body works instead of wondering why i can’t speak the language of everyone else around me despite having english as my native language.

Autistic burnout first hit me when I was in my early teens, but I had no idea what it was, so I wasn't able to properly recover from it. It got so bad that I had to drop out of school a few years later. If I hadn't left school I don't know if I ever could've recovered.
Autistic burnout is real, and it's bad. Please take it seriously.

this may be incredibly obvious to everyone else, but it wasn't to me, so friendly reminder that "losing skills" with autistic burnout can include coping skills!
ive had burnout on and off the past few weeks. today i saw someone in a video mention losing skills and wondered if it applied to me. i mostly was thinking of work skills, hobby skills, or motor skills for some reason. that sort of thing. and i thought, nahh. still have all those i think!
then later i caught myself going "WHY do i feel like all these therapy things i fixed are problems again? why is my brain insisting everything we do is 'cringe' why cant i talk abt my feelings, why am i second guessing everything i say in at least five different dimensions? why is my brain doing things it hasnt done in like TEN YEARS?"
surprise!
IT IS THE BURNOUT~~
