I look forward for when my ear infection is gone. And to continue developing a body and hair ritual out of love.
#i have had an ear infection since Saturday. it was diagnosed on Monday and I was given ear drops.#Plot twist: the ear drops could not reach the infection. so the infection worsened. I went to a walk in again on Wednesday to have this#revealed. there is so much pus in my ear that my ear drum cannot be visualized. So I got a sick note for the rest of the week (doctor was#pretty insistent that I should not take just one day off#but the rest of the week!#anyway I look forward to feeling better. i want to be sure I take care of my hair as it gets longer.#so I have my tried and true jack59 citrus curly hair shampoo and conditioner bar (conditioner can be left as a leave in)#then I alternate a hair mask once a week. one is hair strengthening. one is hair softening.#i also have my satya for psoriasis but once a month I have to use a clarifying shampoo because satya has beeswax and leads to build up#I have two other hair/scalp oils that I use as pre treatment until I can figure out the minimal amount of oil to be useful#also during showering I have a scalp brush to really get my shampoo in my scalp and a playlist explicitly for showering#there are other things I plan to get like a silk bonnet abd microfibre towel from curle shopp#and I may try the LOC method for my hair as it gets longer#I have slowly been adding other techniques for my hair too#and then for my body I made a vody e#a body exfoliant that's more like a body polish and looks like ground beef#and then of course soap and a body balm that has calendula and other stuff#not to mention some face care. Alas#my face does best with NOTHING but skin cancer does not give a shit about that thus I must clean my face after sunscreen#I look forward to having energy again to do proper self care things. such and paying attention to thinks and cleaning dishes and cooking too#my post

For your cruelty
I wish you to suffocate in your inhumanity. For your cruelty and coldness to drawn you in your sins. For your dreams to get crushed under my feet. For you to die by my resentment.
I can still recall the day I met you.
Leaves were dancing before death swayed by,
children were abandoned in the evil world.
I was so innocent and pure, so hopeful and bright like a star.
And I can still recall the day I ran away.
The town was wrapped in an ice shell,
gray clouds were towering over my cage.
I was so dead, all hopes and dreams demolished, eyes soulless.
Why did I love you, I still dare to ask myself?
Why was I so foolish to give my heart to a predator,
so heartless and blind, such a beast behind the masks?
The pain you gave to my existence never escaped me.
If I could, I would’ve warned myself,
I would have stabbed you first, killed the demon.
I would have never given you the time of my day,
nor bleeded your name on silk paper.
Memories of hallucinations haunt, clutch to me for dear life.
A history of pain and regret and a love towards the worst.
An young girl pleading for your pride,
begging on her knees, only to be faced with ferocity.
Your ruinous feet stepped on my heart, I let you,
then you turned your back on me, left me picking up blood.
You tore me apart, examined all I could give you,
it wasn’t enough, it’s never damn enough, thought “she should die here’’.
You had ruined me, you touched me.
I’ll drown you, get your blood on my teeth, take revenge.
I will rip out your heart, for mine got teared out of me.
And I will whisper, as I walk on your corpse,
“You should die here, you weren’t enough.’’
I am raging, gasping for air, trembling under your devilish stare. I remember, know how to use the knife the same way you did it. And I won’t miss my chance, I’ll break you off, dear calendula.

Holly's Sacrifice (Adventurers of Millenis Story)
Warnings: Death, sadness, sorrow, blood, etc.
"You poor child…" Calendula felt woozy after hearing someone's pleasant sing-song voice. She focused and noticed a kind-looking woman with long brown hair and hazel eyes. She didn't remember much after passing out, but she felt someone gently lift her into their arms. She felt warm, but cold and tired… She quickly fell asleep without dreaming.
This was the first time she had met her mentor, Hollyhock.
---------
"Calendula, you passed!" Hollyhock smiled as she swept her up into her arms and swung her about joyously. She laid her down and petted her head. "I'm so proud of you." Hollyhock cooed and tilted Calendula's head.
"Thank you, big sis, Holly." Calendula smiles as she hugs her mentor again. Hollyhock chuckles as she kneels and lays her hands against her shoulders.
"Let's get to your lessons then, shall we?" Holly smiles and pets her head. Calendula smiles and nods before they walk together.
Hollyhock was still so much taller than Calendula, but yet, they were so close.
------------
"Calendula, can you grab the antiseptic?" Holly shouted out to her little trainee. Calendula nods as she grabs the antiseptic. She returns and sits next to Holly, smiling. Holly begins to demonstrate how to care for a huge wound. She is slow, meticulous, and devoted to her task. Calendula looks in astonishment as Holly uses green magic to cure the wound.
"Wha-! Holly! You should not use magic; you will get sick again!" Calendula protests as her teacher grins and softly pats her head.
"Don't worry about me, Calendula; just focus on your magic cap… I'll be alright. "It's only a little magic," Holly reassures her and shows her what to do next.
"How do you know when to stop…?" Calendula asks, resting her head on the desk next to her. Holly hums while looking over.
"Well, I check my mana, but I also make sure I take care of my exhaustion," Holly explains as she looks over at Calendula. Calendula nods. "Don't worry, my dear, I'm fine."
-----------
Holly laughs as she walks back to the village with Calendula and Nolana and hears a chorus of loud screams. Her eyes widen as she runs toward the settlement. She covers her lips while coughing.
"The village- F-Fire?" Calendula inquires as she looks around in fear. Hollyhock tears her skirt as she creates a temporary mask.
"Calendula, you and Nolana, stay back, I'll get survivors," Hollyhock says as she stares at the two. Nolana's wings flutter, and Calendula's eyes enlarge.
"But Holly-!" Nolana complains, but Hollyhock raises a hand.
"I'll be fine, focus on helping Calendula take care of the injured." Hollyhock intervene before she enters the burning village. She rescues as many survivors as she can by herself and with the help of other villages. Calendula and Nolana were caring for the injured.
"Doctor-!" One of the peasants sobbed as she clutched Holly's legs. Holly kneels and glances at her.
"What happened?" Hollyhock inquired, but before the villagers could respond, a loud echoing, overlapping howl was heard. Hollyhock looks up, her eyes twinkling with a hint of magic. She was helping heal to the best of her ability.
"What is that?!" One of the villagers yells as Hollyhock gets up. It was a big shadow creature, resembling a wolf. It had smoke billowing from it, and Hollyhock felt fatigued as she got closer to it. She shook it off and stood up. When a large red light appeared in its jaws, she knew it possessed strong magical abilities. Hollyhock promptly responded to the attack with a green barrier to protect the people. She heard her feet scraping on the earth.
"Calendula!" Hollyhock immediately shouted. This made the younger woman's eyes snap up to look at her. "Get everyone out of here. I mean it. Don't look back, just go." Hollyhock looked over at her and Calendula's eyes widened.
"But Holly!" Calendula pleaded but Hollyhock shushed her promptly. She shifted her feet as she faced this fearsome opponent.
"Go." Holly placed another order. Calendula appeared conflicted, but Nolana pulled on her, and they both began to move. Holly took a big breath. "You know… I was hoping I could sing this to you in proper tradition but…" Holly walked nearer, looking up at the thing. Calendula froze when she witnessed her mentor face this massive creature with such conviction while also feeling the power of her powers.
"Hollyhock-" Calendula resumed, but Nolana and her began to remove the crowds. The magic around seemed to start a soft tune which made Calendula freeze. "No, Hollyhock, you can't! You can't use your true magic!" Calendula begins to cry out but Nolana pulls her away.
"Oh, listen well, beloved child, you've grown. Before you leave your mountain home, I'll sing a prayer for you..."
Hollyhock sings as she creates another shield to defend them against the creature's blows. She allows magic to surround her. Below her face, purple and green magic formed a sign. The beast lunges at her, but she weaves out of the way as music notes and butterflies surround her.
"When you lose your way... When you travel through the night~..."
Hollyhock moves her hands as purple chains emerge from the earth, attempting to force the creature to the ground. She was encircled by fire. Calendula sobbed as she struggled against Nolana and a skeleton's hold. Hollyhock was already exhausted from using so much power; she and Calendula both knew it would kill her.
"I will sing for rain... Praying for your light."
Hollyhock looks over at Calendula, who is just starting to sob louder as she is being taken away. Hollyhock concentrates on the creature, which is massive, taller than a building, and causes fires as it moves. She coughed into her fingers and saw her own blood on it; she couldn't give up. She needed to save everyone. She knew she was the only one capable of doing it.
"Farewell from the rain! Let it shelter you from harm."
Hollyhock sings as a storm gathers around her. She takes a deep breath and pushes her power to the edge. She concentrated hard on keeping it in place, the flames licking at her heels and the shield she had created. She could see it didn't want to injure anyone, deep down, but she couldn't stop it.
She was using all of her magic to bring it down, to dig her magic into the core so she could break the center, which was holding it together. She felt raindrops and knew her pushing was working; the rain will help heal the people as she focused all of her magic on both the healing rain and preventing it.
"May the farewell rain... Protect your heart!"
Hollyhock poured the last of her magic into this fight. She was pushing herself and felt her legs give out, but her attack eventually found its target, the core. She choked again as blood flowed from her mouth, and she felt her energy drain with the beast as she finally severed its center. She watched it come apart, then grabbed the necklace that was holding the creature together, pitying it. She rested her head on it and closed her eyes. She used the last of her magic to send out healing rain to help the villagers.
Until... It ran out.
-------
Calendula struggled to understand what she saw, her heart aching from the silence and blood coursing through her ears. She hurried towards Holly's location and then noticed her. She was on the ground, clutching the necklace that had formed that creature. She was gone, she knew it.
"Holly- Holly…" Calendula started when she pushed Hollyhock over. "Wake, wake up… This…isn't funny." Calendula's voice broke as she realized she was gone, but she couldn't accept it. "Holly-" Calendula's voice cracked as she sobbed against her side. "You can't do it; you have so much to teach me--this isn't fair. This isn't--please wake up, Holly! Holly!" Calendula began to sob and shake her when Nolana pulled her back and she sobbed.
"Calendula…" Nolana held her hands. Calendula cried nervously. "She's gone, Calendula." Nolana whispers before Calendula begins to sob harder. She hid her face in her chest while Nolana tenderly caressed her hair with her fingers.
It was so quiet as the rain fell...

This plays in to the post I shared the other day about women being scared of aging. There’s nothing wrong with taking care of yourself and your body. We should all do that. But you can just eat a healthy diet, stay hydrated, and do some general exercise. All these hundreds of products that promise to make you glow or shine or have a dewy complexion or no wrinkles or whatever are just BS. Your body is going to age no matter what you do. It will sag, it will wrinkle, it will grow soft in some places and inexplicably hard in others. Your skin will thin and your eyes will grow lines around them. It happens. Again, a healthy diet and staying hydrated and active will do more for your skin and joints than any product you can slather on your body.
I won’t lie, I have stood in the beauty section many times, looking over hair masks and skin serums and face lifts in a bottle and debated trying it “just this once, to see…..” But I stop myself. Because that’s a path I don’t want to go down. Because there will always be one more new “secret product that will fix EVERYTHING”………until it doesn’t. At which point there will be three more miracle products to replace that one. And when those don’t work, don’t worry, now there’s an entire skin care SYSTEM that is 12 steps and only available through a membership subscription that will try to sell you add-ons even though they insist the 12-step skincare routine is all you need. But trust them, it will be the last thing you ever need to buy to be beautiful…….until it’s not.
Obviously if you take vitamins for a deficiency or at a doctors orders, carry on. But having worked in the medical field, I can tell you that the vast majority of people are taking supplements they don’t need, aren’t absorbing, and are pissing hundreds of dollars worth of nutrients right down the toilet as they pass straight through their body without being absorbed. A multi-vitamin will not preserve your youth and beauty, I do not care how many adaptogens and collagens and biotin’s they cram in there. YOU WILL AGE.
And that’s FINE. It’s what we’re supposed to do, it’s what people have been scrambling to achieve since the dawn of humanity: just trying to live a little bit longer. Our cave-dwelling ancestors would be amazed that we live long enough to have wrinkles. They’d be baffled as to why we would try to cover up such an obvious source of pride and accomplishment. “You mean you DIDN’T die from an infected cut at the age of 12? Get eaten by a tiger at 17??? Are you a GODDESS that you have managed to live to the gloriously unthinkable age of 40??”
And look…..pampering can be fun. It’s especially fun when it’s a treat, and not a three-hour obligation every single day. But also, all these skin/hair masks, body scrubs and polishes, creams and salves and blah blah blah? Ladies…..you can make that shit yourself at home for SO MUCH LESS and not overfill our landfills at the same time. I just made my own deodorant the other day because they want to charge me $15 for the unscented natural stuff I need to use. So I pulled out my Shea butter and coconut oil and arrowroot powder and baking soda and whipped that shit up myself for about $3 all said and done. I smell fucking FANTASTIC.
Hair mask? Oh man, just open the fridge, babes. Body scrub? Do you drink coffee? Have sugar on hand? There ya go. You’ll smell like Starbucks, it’s fucking GREAT. Got a little room to grow some plants? Grow calendula and make an oil from the flowers. That shit is gold. Seriously it looks like liquid gold and you can use it for so much. And you can grow calendula in a pot on a balcony with the right lighting.
The next time you’re debating dropping $40 on some random beauty product purporting to cure all your woes, stop and ask yourself:
- is this NECESSARY? As in, my body will shut down and die if I do not have this. Is it water? Is it oxygen? Is it food?
- is this something I could make myself at home to reduce waste, packaging, and overconsumption?
- is it really that important that I fulfill the societal standard for beauty that this product is making me strive for? Is it necessary that I have the smoothest shiniest hair? The plumpest fullest lips? The least amount of visible lines on my face?
- do I want to keep playing this game that has no end, no winners, and no point? This game that costs a fortune to play and the only outcome is that I will never feel fully comfortable with my naked face and natural body?
- do I want to keep lining the pockets of unethical billionaires making their fortune off the exploited labor of others and the insecurities of women like me?
Maybe your answer is “fuck you I want my serums and masks!!” That’s fine. But we do have a limited amount of resources and we are overfilling our planet with trash and we have a short amount of time on earth to enjoy ourselves and I really just wish women would be okay with their faces and bodies and aging so they could stop spending hours in front of a mirror picking and poking and plucking and microblading and needling and plumping and exfoliating and stone rolling and on and on and on, and just go outside and enjoy what our planet has to offer.
It’s not that far of a reach to understand that all this shit is pushed on to women because they know that if we’re so busy seeking the Fountain of Youth that it takes up all our time, then we won’t have the time to fight for the liberation of women.
I’m done with this shit. Me and my naked wrinkly face and saggy arms are going out into the world to fight for the liberation of all my sisters.
Will you join me?

What is a facial exfoliator and why is it important to use one?
Exfoliation is often talked about as the key to radiant, smooth skin, but many people still wonder—what exactly is a face exfoliator, and why do you need one? If you've ever wondered how exfoliation can benefit your skin or how to use it correctly, you're not alone. Let’s explore everything you need to know about face exfoliators, why they’re important, and how to choose the best one for your skin type.
What Is a Face Exfoliator?
A face exfoliator scrub is a skincare product designed to remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Over time, dead skin can accumulate, making your complexion look dull, uneven, or textured. Exfoliation helps slough off these dead cells, revealing fresh, newer skin beneath, and boosting your skin's natural radiance.
How to Choose the Best Exfoliator for Your Skin Type
Choosing the right exfoliator depends on your skin type and concerns. Whether you have oily, dry, combination, or sensitive skin, there's a perfect exfoliating product out there for you. Here’s a guide to help you choose the best option:
For Oily or Acne-Prone Skin:
Oily and acne-prone skin tends to have larger pores, which can become clogged with excess oil and dead skin. You may benefit from a chemical exfoliator with salicylic acid (BHA), as it penetrates the pores to clear out oil and debris. Look for exfoliants that also offer acne-fighting properties or contain antibacterial ingredients.
Best Ingredients: Salicylic acid (BHA), tea tree oil, sulfur, glycolic acid (AHA)
Recommended Products: Gel-based exfoliators, BHA-based toners, acne-fighting exfoliating pads
For Dry Skin:
Dry skin often has a buildup of dead skin cells that can make the skin look dull or flaky. A gentle chemical exfoliator with lactic acid (AHA) or glycolic acid will help dissolve the dead skin cells and promote moisture retention. You should also look for exfoliators that are hydrating and nourishing to avoid further drying out your skin.
Best Ingredients: Lactic acid, glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, urea, aloe vera
Recommended Products: Cream-based exfoliators, gentle chemical exfoliants, hydrating masks
For Sensitive Skin:
If you have sensitive skin, it’s important to be cautious with exfoliation, as harsh scrubs or strong acids can lead to irritation. Opt for enzyme-based exfoliators (e.g., papaya or pineapple enzymes) or mild AHAs like lactic acid that provide a gentle exfoliation. Look for formulas that are specifically labeled for sensitive skin, and always patch-test first.
Best Ingredients: Enzymes (papaya, pineapple), lactic acid, mandelic acid, chamomile, calendula
Recommended Products: Gentle enzyme exfoliating masks, calming exfoliating gels, alcohol-free toners
For Combination Skin:
Combination skin can benefit from both chemical and physical exfoliation, depending on the area of concern. For the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), you might opt for a BHA exfoliant to address clogged pores and oil, while for the cheeks, a gentler AHA (like glycolic acid) might work best to smooth and brighten.
Best Ingredients: AHA (glycolic or lactic acid), BHA (salicylic acid), gentle exfoliating grains
Recommended Products: Dual-action exfoliators that combine both AHA and BHA, gentle exfoliating pads
Can Exfoliating Help with Hyperpigmentation or Dark Spots?
Yes! Exfoliation can be a helpful part of your routine if you're dealing with hyperpigmentation or dark spots. Regular exfoliation encourages cell turnover, helping to fade dark spots and even out skin tone over time. This is particularly effective for addressing post-acne scars or sun damage.
Conclusion:
A good face exfoliator can be a game-changer in your skincare routine, helping to improve skin texture, clear clogged pores, and promote a glowing complexion. However, like all skincare products, exfoliators should be used thoughtfully and in moderation.

They are versatile and often enriched with natural ingredients to provide additional benefits such as hydration, brightening, and soothing effects.
Things to Consider When Buying the Best Clay Mask
1. Identify Your Skin Type - Oily Skin: Look for clay masks with kaolin or bentonite clay to absorb excess oil and minimize shine. - Dry Skin: Opt for hydrating clay masks containing aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, or glycerin. - Sensitive Skin: Choose masks labeled as hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and formulated with soothing ingredients like chamomile or calendula. - Combination Skin: A multi-mask approach works best, or select clay masks that balance oil production without over-drying. 2. Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash
Tumblr media
Brand: Desert Essence
Product Type: Cleanser
Price: $11.19 USD
Size: 8.5 fl oz
✔️Vegan  ✔️Clean Ingredients  ✔️Cruelty Free  ✔️Sustainable Packaging
Star Ingredients:
Tea Tree Oil: Clarifies, balances oil production, good for oily, acne-prone skin
Castile Soap: Gentle olive oil-based hydrating cleanser
Coconut Oil: Hydrates and nourishes
Lavender, Chamomile, & Calendula Essential Oils: Soothes and nourishes, antioxidants
Texture: Gel
Feel: Very clean
Scent: 🌸🌸🌸
Results: Formerly known as Tea Tree Oil Face Wash. This was my go-to cleanser whenever I was struggling with acne. Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, so it's really good at clearing up breakouts. The gentle soap base made of olive oil-based Castile soap and coconut oil keeps your skin hydrated enough to counter any stripping that might have occurred from the tea tree oil. I even used this when I lived in the desert; I had no issues with overdrying.
The essential oils nourish your skin and provide a pleasant botanical scent. Chamomile and calendula are both ingredients known for reducing redness and sensitivity.
I really do recommend this if you have oily problem skin. It's a great product and it doesn't cost a lot. You can even buy refills on their website.
Comps: Trader Joe's Spa Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil is a very close ingredient match to this product. I found it on Amazon at $16.64 for a single 8.5 fl oz bottle OR in a 2-pack for $24.99.
There are lots of other cleansers with tea tree oil in them. In the high range you've got: Osea Malibu Ocean Cleansing Mudd Organic Tea Tree Oil Cleanser ($48/5.0 fl oz), Odacite Black Mint All Natural Face Wash ($45/3.38 fl oz), Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash ($44/8.4 fl oz) and Clear Start Breakout Clearing Foaming Cleanser ($19.50/6.0 fl oz), Tula Keep It Clear Acne Foam Cleanser ($36/6.3 fl oz), 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil & Willow Clarifying Cleanser ($34/3.4 fl oz), and Dr. Jart+ Teatreement Cleansing Foam ($29/4.05 fl oz).
More midrange-priced brands include: Buttah Skin Tea Tree & Aloe Mask Scrub ($24/3.4 fl oz), Urban Veda Neem + Tea Tree Purifying Facial Wash ($17/5.0 fl oz), Peach Slices Oil Control Balancing Cleanser ($14.99/4.05 fl oz), and CosRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser ($14/5.07 fl oz).
If you'd like to get away from gel and/or foam cleansers, there's a few non-traditional options. If you have really sensitive skin and want to use a more minimalist product, I recommend SW Basics Cleanser ($19.99/4.0 fl oz). It's a watery liquid you wipe on almost like a toner, then rinse off. I described it as more of a micellar water than a traditional cleanser. Such a great product.
If you like that more liquid consistency but want more actives, you can try Anne's Apothecary Black Honey Facial Cleanser ($19/2.5 fl oz). There's also ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil ($29/6.7 fl oz) and Hanskin Pore Cleansing Oil - PHA ($27/10.14 fl oz) if you want a cleansing oil with tea tree.
Some bar cleansers include Soapwalla Activated Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Face Wash Bar ($18), Meow Meow Tweet Tea Tree Charcoal Facial Bar ($12), and Carbon Theory Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Bar ($8.50).

How to Treat and Prevent Maskne: Skincare Tips from Leafoberryy for Dealing with Mask-Induced Acne
Tumblr media
At Leafoberryy, we understand that frequent mask-wearing can lead to an unwelcome side effect: maskne, or mask-induced acne. To support you in managing this challenge, we’ve put together our expert skincare tips and natural acne treatment options to help maintain your skin’s health and resilience. Let’s explore Leafoberryy’s approach to treating and preventing maskne, so you can keep your pores clear, your face comfortable, and your skin mask-ready.
What Causes Maskne?
Maskne results from extended mask-wearing, creating a warm, humid environment against the skin—conditions that allow bacteria to thrive on the face. Here are the main factors involved:
Clogged Pores on the Face: Makeup, sweat, and dead skin cells trapped under the mask can easily clog the pores on your face, leading to acne.
Friction and Irritation: The constant rubbing of the mask against sensitive areas of the skin can cause irritation.
Moisture Build-Up: Humidity from breathing and talking beneath the mask increases bacterial growth, contributing to breakouts.
Compromised Skin Barrier: Prolonged mask use may weaken the skin’s natural barrier, making it more vulnerable to breakouts and sensitivity.
Leafoberryy’s Skincare Routine for Maskne Prevention
A consistent, gentle skincare routine can make a difference in preventing and treating maskne. Here’s how to craft a Leafoberryy-approved regimen that includes acne treatment tips to keep your skin balanced and resilient:
1. Gentle Cleansing
Choose a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser to remove impurities from the pores on your face without stripping the skin. We recommend products with natural antibacterial ingredients like tea tree oil or neem extracts. Wash your face twice daily to keep it fresh and free from buildup.
2. Hydrate with a Non-Oily Moisturizer
Moisturizing is essential for maintaining your skin barrier. Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer, like Leafoberryy’s serum-based products, which lock in moisture without clogging pores. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, which provide hydration and help minimize friction under the mask.
3. Avoid Heavy Makeup on Your Face
Try to avoid heavy foundation or concealer, as these can block the pores on your face and contribute to maskne. If you prefer some coverage, opt for a light, breathable formula or go makeup-free. Leafoberryy’s Vitamin C Serum can enhance your skin’s natural glow, reducing the need for heavier products.
4. Apply a Barrier Cream for Friction Reduction
Before putting on your mask, consider applying a thin layer of natural-based cream to areas where the mask typically rubs, like the nose and cheeks. This creates a protective barrier that reduces irritation and chafing.
5. Choose Skin-Friendly Mask Materials
For less irritation, select breathable, soft materials like cotton, which are gentler on the skin. Be sure to wash reusable masks regularly with a gentle, fragrance-free detergent to prevent buildup that can irritate the pores on your face.
6. Treat and Soothe with Calming Ingredients
Choose products with anti-inflammatory ingredients like calendula and chamomile extracts, both of which are in our skincare line. To address individual blemishes, dab a little neem oil, Green tea, diluted apple cider Vinegar as a targeted acne treatment.
Weekly Maskne Treatments
Incorporate these weekly treatments to give your skin extra care:
Gentle Exfoliation: Once a week, exfoliate to remove dead skin cells and prevent clogged pores on the face. Our exfoliants, enriched with natural enzymes, help keep your skin smooth and refreshed.
Hydrating Masks: Masks containing calming ingredients like aloe vera and green tea extract, helping soothe and replenish your skin. Use once or twice weekly for added hydration and balance.
Lifestyle Tips for Managing Maskne
Here are some simple lifestyle adjustments that can help reduce maskne:
1. Take Mask Breaks: When safe, take breaks from your mask to let humidity and heat escape.
2. Eat Clean, Stay Hydrated: A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and water supports your skin’s overall health.
3. Avoid Touching Your Mask or Face: Every time you touch your mask or face, you transfer oils and bacteria, which can clog the pores on your face and lead to breakouts.
Treating Active Maskne Breakouts
If maskne has already appeared, try these Leafoberryy-approved acne treatment options to calm breakouts:
1. Spot Treatments: For targeted relief, apply a natural spot treatment mentioned above.
2. Cool Down with Ice: Use an ice cube wrapped in a soft cloth on red, inflamed areas for a few minutes to reduce redness and swelling.
3. Clay Masks for Oil Control: For oily skin, try a clay mask containing kaolin or bentonite to absorb excess oil.
4. Consult a Dermatologist: If maskne persists, consider speaking with a dermatologist who can provide specialized acne treatment options.
Final Thoughts from Leafoberryy
Caring for your skin while wearing a mask doesn’t have to be a challenge. With small adjustments and a consistent skincare routine, you can protect and support your skin’s health. At Leafoberryy, we’re here to provide gentle, effective acne treatment solutions to keep your skin comfortable and clear, even under a mask.
Let’s take on maskne together with the right care, the right products, and the confidence that your skin can thrive, no matter the conditions. Here’s to clear, healthy skin with Leafoberryy advice by your side!

Natural Skin Care Routine: Quick Start Guide
Tumblr media
A natural skin care routine uses ingredients without harmful chemicals.
Cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing are the core steps.
Natural oils and plant-based products nourish and protect the skin.
Simple, consistent routines lead to healthier skin.
Patch testing prevents potential skin reactions.
Introduction
Natural skin care focuses on using ingredients from nature that are free from synthetic additives.
These products are typically gentler on the skin and offer long-term benefits without the risk of irritation that can come from harsh chemicals.
This guide outlines a simple, natural routine that anyone can follow for healthier, more radiant skin.
Core Steps in a Natural Skin Care Routine
Tumblr media
Cleansing
Cleansing is the first step in any skin care routine. It removes dirt, oil, and impurities that accumulate on the skin throughout the day.
A gentle, natural cleanser—like honey or coconut oil—cleanses without stripping the skin of its natural oils, leaving it clean but still hydrated.
Exfoliating
Exfoliation helps to remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and cause dullness. Natural exfoliants like sugar, oatmeal, or ground coffee provide gentle exfoliation without causing micro-tears or irritation.
Exfoliating 1-2 times a week keeps the skin smooth and fresh.
Toning
A toner helps to balance the skin’s pH and tighten pores. Natural toners such as witch hazel or rose water are excellent choices as they soothe the skin while preparing it to absorb moisturizers better.
Moisturizing
Moisturizing is essential to keep the skin hydrated and protected. Natural moisturizers like shea butter, jojoba oil, or aloe vera deliver deep hydration and lock in moisture.
These ingredients nourish the skin, helping to maintain its elasticity and softness.
Sun Protection
Even with a natural skin care routine, protecting your skin from the sun is critical. Natural sunscreens with zinc oxide provide effective protection without harmful chemicals, guarding against premature aging and sun damage.
Specialized Treatments
Tumblr media
Acne-Prone Skin
For acne-prone skin, natural ingredients like tea tree oil or clay masks can help manage breakouts. These ingredients have antibacterial properties that can reduce inflammation and clear pores without over-drying the skin.
Anti-Aging
Natural anti-aging ingredients include vitamin C, plant-based retinol alternatives, and hyaluronic acid. These help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, and boost elasticity over time.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin benefits from hypoallergenic, fragrance-free natural products. Ingredients such as chamomile, calendula, or oat extract can calm irritation and reduce redness, making them ideal for easily irritated skin.
Additional Natural Skin Care Tips
Tumblr media
Patch Testing New Products
Before applying a new product to your face, it’s important to patch test. Apply a small amount of the product to a discreet area of your skin, like the inside of your wrist, and wait 24 hours to see if any reaction occurs.
This simple step can prevent potential irritation or allergic reactions.
Consistency and Patience
Consistency is key in any skin care routine. Natural products may take time to show results, but with regular use, they can lead to significant improvements in skin health.
Patience is important, as natural ingredients work with your skin’s natural processes rather than providing quick fixes.
Conclusion
A natural skin care routine offers a gentle and effective way to care for your skin. By using simple, plant-based ingredients, you can achieve a healthy, glowing complexion while avoiding the potential harm from synthetic chemicals. Stick with your routine, and over time, you’ll likely see noticeable improvements in your skin’s health and appearance.
