At the start of this project all I wanted was to 'learn how to draw' using comics as a medium and the MDZS audio drama as inspiration.

I've come *very* far from making simple, 3 panel black and white comics, and I truly do intend to go even further. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on throughout 2023, it has been an incredible year in so many ways I never could have imagined. I look forwards to drawing throughout 2024 B*)

For all the work this blog has been-#-It has truly been a life saving anchor when the darkest of times have hit.#Love is hard work. Change is even harder work. Sticking to a goal I set out for myself and striving to keep going was worth it.#And I love drawing. I think there has always been something in me that longed for this. And it is finally tangible! I can draw!!!#I wanted to make a more elaborate year reflection where I looked back at my favourite comics and jokes.#but I'll leave that to the one year anniversary.#I have also been collecting a ton of statistics throughout the year and I am desperate to share them. #sorry for people who has been asking for commission and finding me very unresponsive #literally i don't feel ready mentally ; i think the '6 months' is self-explanatory #frieren: beyond journey's end #fern #sousou no frieren #fanart #frieren at the funeral #actually it was 1.5 years ago; i was supposed to be drawing other character that time #but for 9 months i didn't manage to make myself sit down & finish it; so 6 months ago i re-asked if the person wanted other character #bcs i thought i need to re-start fresh & maybe the person's interest had changed #ko fi #when drawing for money sometimes u sit down & just stop 'working' entirely ; like ur will goes blue screen & refuse to do it #because it's / work / and u have to be more meticulous ; it gives u all the extra pressure #tho i like to have the money again.... but i'll start studying again soon; and i'll need to do my best on this one i think #drawing has always been a distraction on my study so maybe it is a good thing if my drawing drive dies down for a good while #tho not drawing at all also stress me out; finger crossed for good life balance #I CAN'T BELIEVE POPULAR TAG SHOWING THAT PEOPLE ALSO KNOW IT AS 'FRIEREN AT THE FUNERAL'. y'all ever think abt how it was julie having the affair and it is even said multiple times that she was the one who left him, yet wilson was still the one who left their home and moved in with house. like. he couldn't bear to stay in their home alone. he immediately ran to house and stayed on his couch for weeks. suffered through his pranks and his laziness and his manipulation. telling him he wants him gone while sabotaging his attempts to leave. and he only left once he got a girlfriend again.

#dead leaf for leafpool and gull feathers for feathertail #like yeah it's funny that cherith does whatever the hell she wants as soon as she's in the driver's seat #but it's also baffling and frustrating that she wanted this in the first place #crowfeather or at least the version of him in my head is a fun and interesting character because he's shitty #in the newer books there's been a weird attitude toward him where the other characters think he's irritable but also noble and attractive #also tawnypelt is such a nothing character it's upsetting that all she's ever been is an accessory to the men around her #her father her brother her mate her son her grandson(s)#and her pov is no longer merely boring but actually insufferable thanks to her poorly handled “kids these days” plots #if it were up to me #the new prophecy would focus more on tawnypelt feeling out of place in shadowclan and struggling to prove her loyalty #contrasting brambleclaw who is generally accepted in thunderclan but victimizes himself due to his insecurity #i would also explore how tawnypelt and rowanclaw get together since he hates her in one scene and then they're lovey dovey in the next #although this does seem to be the basis of many warriors relationships #i'm not sure how i feel about tawnypelt getting a second mate as an elder but i don't want to begrudge old people finding love again #so i'm fine with it as long as it's not crowfeather #as for crowfeather #he would fall hard and fast for feathertail because she's pretty and shows him kindness but i want it to be one-sided #then he would fall hard and fast for leafpool for the same reasons #she runs away with him not because she loves him but because clan society is suffocating and she needs an escape #so when they get back to the clans she moves on pretty quickly but he lives a long and miserable life pining after her #his clanmates quietly avoid him because they don't like him that much because why would they and so he never becomes deputy #i can see him trying to reconnect with breezepelt and nightcloud as an elder #not necessarily because he realizes how shitty he is but because he wants a relationship with his granddaughters but it's strained #and then he dies! i'm tired of writing and being frustrated by these stupid books so i'm ending it here #changing skies spoilers #crowfeather #warrior cats #eel art #eel text

#linktober #linktober 2024 #the legend of zelda #wind waker #ocarina of time #loz #loz ww #loz oot #link #josh art tag #had a lot of fun with this one despite how annoying it was to draw #oot link was at a difficult angle and i also just could not shade this for the life of me. restarted the shading like 3 times #i think im reaching that point in the cycle i typically go thru with my artstylr where ive grown tired of my shading style #to the point that i forget how to do it and it never quite looks right #so if my next post features changes to my artstyle thats why lol #but i enjoyed making this despite that cuz i like the ideas behind it!#i normally wouldve redesigned ww!link's outfit but i purposefully drew it accurately #to highlight how its more like a costume. cuz thats kinda what it was! and its modeled after the hero of times clothes #but is pretty innacurate. which i think is cool.. shows how much time has passed and how the view of the hero of time has warped #so i also purposefully made oot link wearing my redesigned outfit for him (even if you cant see much of it at this angle)#to further emphasize how ww!link's outfit is not only essentially a costume but is also quite innacurate #i like having ww!link ditch the costume for something else to show how he stops being some kid in oot!link's shadow #and grows into a true hero of his own #hence my ww!link redesign where i put him back in the lobster shirt. but i do keep some green and something similar to the hat #to have him fit in with the other links while still being unique #look i have a lot of feelings about ww!link and oot!link #i wish zelda would do more stuff like this... i think having oot relate to wind waker makes the story more interesting #and makes ww!link more interesting! cuz he cant be the hero of time they want. but he does become the real hero they need #the oot ww tp trio is so good... and they all work great as standalone games but their connections do really add something

#dsmp #c!tommy #c!dream #exile arc #dream stans dni #i just started thinking about them again #and i feel like i finally have the skills to draw them #also rambling about some artistic choices i took in these tags #the small disc (get it.. disc) is inspired by Church Prime #i think tommy being canonically religous and the follower of a church founded by dream is super interesting #i imagine the disc he holds as a sort of rosary or other prayer accessory #the church prime symbol is just a cross but i took creative liberties by doing a star #aka a pointy cross #because i didn't. want to mix real life religions people follow in with minecraft roleplay lmao #also like i already said its a disc. not a music one but the Symbolism.#the pin on tommys jacket next to the creeper one IS meant to be a music disc though!#i also tried to mirror the shape of dreams sword and the shape of the cross.#i changed dreams mask a lot from the typical circle smiley face design #because i kinda hate the real life guy with a passion and wanted to seperate the drawing from his branding #and i think the smile is a little goofy.#OH and the disc is also meant to resemble the compass.#also dreams hoodie sleeves are rolled up underneath the sleeve of his tunic because he's horrible.#i tried really hard to make him look insufferable... i think i only pulled it off for me specifically #fanart #dsmp fanart #artsp #dream fans dni #please

I think the reason beckory works well is that tony has a habit of getting self righteous and in his own head about things but Gregory isnt afraid to tell him off or call him out about things. the point of tony in ggy is that nobody ever told him that how hes treating other people isnt good, so that's why he got so bad. but tony would be close to Gregory and have every rational reason in the world to listen to Gregory so when he would say something like "you're treating ellis badly and that's not what a good friend does, you need to do better" hed actually listen and take it into account and improve himself

#this will likely be the last of my recent twcfm posts #but i did love goemon's (and fujiko's) depictions/relationships #all goemon wants is a friend like him since he feels so alone in the world #but he fell in love with a person who doesn't exist #and he keeps setting himself up for failure by hoping for fujiko to change into the woman he thought she was #only to end up more lonely since before meeting fujiko (the ending of twcfm “resolves” their relationship but it felt wrapped up too soon)#also i'm specifically thinking of the scene where they're on the beach and goemon interprets her actions as having been good and honest for #once only to end up disappointed when she hadn't changed for the better to be more in line with his values #as for fujiko she got closure from her trauma but her relationship with goemon went nowhere #she was too traumatized to understand that goemon was trustworty and genuinely did love her unlike all the other men in her life so far #but it was interesting to see her being comfortable “alone” after she dealt with her trauma as well as her new outlook on life #but i still feel bad for goemon; he deserved better and all he wanted was for someone to want/love him and make him feel he belongs #lupin iii #lupin the third #lupin the 3rd #goemon ishikawa xiii #goemon #fujiko mine #twcfm #the woman called fujiko mine #fujigoe

I especially enjoyed kiri and sera’s tentatively developing friendship.#I loved the depiction of the magical/spiritual elements of Wairere’s connection to water and life. And of course I love Swamp POV.#I have the tendency to describe books like this as set in a ‘climate ravaged near future’ but it’s ones like that these that emphasise that #while it may be set in a near future; the climate disaster they’ve experienced is exactly what is happening in many places now #I also appreciate how the theme of community and connection and growth extended to conor -#he could easily be an irredeemable racist villain but the narrative has more depth and complexity than that; giving him space to atone #without making him more important than the other characters.#Like not that I care about him specifically but in terms of the other’s ability to connect & understand.#I always love an audiobook that includes the author’s note and acknowledgements!!!!
