The ability to remap controls is one of the most basic means of making a game accessible to a wider audience. Having no intention of including it makes a game less-accessible by default.

Making a key focus about the game in the FAQ section the gender identity of a Non-romanceable NPC (that the player only visits to buy items from and can't really interact with outside of that) doesn't make the game accessible...
