Sometimes I feel like my butch identity and my pansexuality contradict eachother because I like men.

But then I remember. It's okay to have contradicting "labels"

It's okay to be as butch and bigender as I fucking want and date who I want.

So what if I'm dating a bi cisman? He loves my bigender butch self to peices and that's all that FUCKIN MATTERS.

happy pride to every male & masc queer who feels alienated from the community during pride month. many places are taking to create "she+" and "femme & them" type events that conflate non binary identities with womanhood without creating similar spaces and events for mascs & men, leaving many trans men and mascs to feel totally alienated because their is no designated day or space for them to celebrate. while it's great to celebrate femininity & womanhood, we should be celebrating queer manhood and masculinity alongside it. it's important to have groups and events for all members of our community

if you feel alienated because you don't fit into these spaces, happy pride to you. happy pride to the butches and lesboys who don't feel safe going to lesbian events because of this. happy pride to trans mascs & men who don't have a space to go or a day to celebrate themselves. happy pride to non binary queers, genderqueer people and gnc people who are not feminine or female and have nowhere to go. happy pride to masculine and male intersex people who can't exist in the spaces they want to.

happy pride to cis masc and male queers who feel completely estranged from the community. happy pride to trans girls who are also men who cannot express their manhood at the risk of people using it as a weapon to misgender you. happy pride to the bigender and multigender people who are have to prioritize their feminine or female identities in order to make other people "feel safe." happy pride to the genderfluid people who don't get to talk about their masculinity or manhood. happy pride to the masc gays who feel alienated

transreads.org is a fantastic resource for queer literature and history, and the best part is that it's FREE! There's no excuse to be ignorant when the information is being handed to you like this.

Leslie Feinberg also has all of hir works free online if you are particularly interested in lesbian history and literature. They are available as downloadable PDFs, and I believe they are on the internet archive aswell.

transreads.org also has a great section on Palestinian queer literature if that's something that interests you, it's important that we learn about queerness outside of America. I've dabbled in a few of these books and essays and poems and they're very cool! I really do enjoy learning about queerness in other cultures, I hope you all can find joy in that too!!

queer people are allowed to have multiple queer identities, even if you think that any of them "contradict" each other. queer people do not have to pick just one letter of the LGBTQIA+ acronym. we are not stuck with a singular choice, we can have as many, or as few, as we want. i've never understand people who say 'you cant be x because you're y' because this is the queer (meaning 'strange'!) community, we're supposed to accept everyone, especially the people with identities you've never heard of before and multiples of them, you can't suddenly start forcing people into 1 box and 1 box only. that's not the point. let people experience. let people express.
