thinking about how in freshman year coach daybreak quite literally tried to kill kristen to bring the apocalypse (AMONG MANY OTHER THINGS) and upon being told this her own parents turned their back on kristen and said (paraphrasing), âthats not true and you cant prove that.â
thinking about junior year where kristenâs parents SAY shes always welcome to come back anytime and in an effort to keep the peace she says âthank you, thats very kindâ HER OWN PARENTS!! ITS NOT KIND, ITS THE BARE MINIMUM! but mac and donna will never see it that way, because to them they didnt fail kristen, she failed them.
ALSO thinking about adaineâs parents who so obviously had no real love for adaine until she had use as elven oracle. and even then it wasnt love, it was a power grab. parents who start a war and leave without you. parents who only cared about power to the extent that they would be angered by adaine revoking aelwyns diplomatic immunity.
arianwen who truly could not understand that adaine was talking about when she called her mother cruel, and angwyn who thought he could âfixâ adaine BY CASTING LIGHTNING AT HER
anyway, big long post about the parallels between these specific Bad Parents (and literal bad parents)
#ugh okay tag time#arianwen abernant#angwyn abernant#mac applebees#donna applebees#fantasy high#d20 fantasy high#fhjy spoilers#fantasy high junior year spoilers#fantasy high sophomore year#fantasy high freshman year#the evil polycule ever#IM JOKINGGG#but yeah very interesting to me that despite being so different they are also so similar#especially in their beliefs that they can âfixâ their children and bring their kids back to their side#and a complete disregard for their safety when it conflicts with their beliefs/views#those two tags are just tldr of my post giggles#shut up cj

One of my favorite character moments (and the thing that immediately made me love him) for Apollo that I think is so intensely important to understanding him goes way back to Case 2 of Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice.
In that case, Trucy stages a âkidnappingâ by using Mr. Hat to distract the court, and when Apollo rushes out into the lobby and sees her safe and soundâŚ
He cries.
Heâs so overcome with worry and relief that he cries for a girl he barely knows. A girl who, for all intents and purposes, almost cost him the badge he worked so hard to gain. A girl who focused most of the time they did know each other teasing him and not taking him seriously.
And yet, he cries for her anyway. He sobs, even.
Itâs a throwaway moment, likely done for comedic effect, but it really hit me, and Trucyâs immediate earnest response telling Apollo not to cry and then him doubling down with protective rage on her behalf hit it home harder, yâknow?
Apollo Justice, at his core, cares. Despite his surly attitude a lot of the time, this is nonetheless a defining trait of his. He cares, so much, and so easily, and we see it firsthand right there as he cries for a near stranger.
(And I also think itâs worth noting that the first time we really, truly see Trucy lower her performance mask and cry herselfâŚitâs to Apollo.)
#apollo justice#trucy wright#ace attorney#rambling hours#actually I can go on and on about these two and their relationship and their characters and how alike and different they are simultaneously#two faves right here frfr#but yeah Apollo crying in case 2 for Trucy made me love him and then he did it AGAIN for Vera at the end of the game#heâs emotional!!!!! he cares!!!!!!! he tries protecting himself with anger and sarcasm but he feels so much it bursts out of him anyway#oh mannnn the way he and Trucy are parallels in certain regards#the way they both latch on to people so quickly and with everything they are#the way both pretend they DONT care in different ways when they very much do#their abandonment issues and inherent abilities do NOT mix well with how much they care for those around them#Apollo gets by through pushing people away or keeping them at arms length#and itâs notable that he only willingly lets people close when those people are hurting (ie clay)#Trucy meanwhile is the opposite in that she brings EVERYONE into her sphere#and in doing so keeps them at the same arms length away that Apollo does#theyâre so interesting to think about I love them dearlyyyyy#I LOVE inherently lonely characters#gramarye family stays the most interesting family to me despite basically all of the older members being Awful in some way#and I would even say theyâre cursed in some capacity but u didnât hear that from me lol#also side note but turnabout corner is GOOD actually

2024 reads / storygraph
Asunder
slow-paced high fantasy
a woman who has a contract with an eldritch entity allowing her to see the dead & survives by taking various jobs
when a job searching for stranded smugglers in a cave goes wrong, she ends up with the soul of a dying stranger bound to her shadow
along with a scholar and her old childhood friend, they travel to his home country to find a way to unbind him and save them both
dark fantasy world with gods, demonic entities, arcane magic, and semi-sentient beasts used as transport
#asunder#kerstin hall#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#okay SUPER fascinating worldbuilding with some very visceral creatures and biological constructs and interesting magic systems.#many things I like. A great cast of characters. Honestly I could read tons more stories set in this world.#itâs very slow building and meandering narratively; focusing on the complex journey of the main character#didnât love the audio narration tbh - it felt like some lines are read with the wrong emphasis or tone? but I got used to it after a while#So this has one of my absolute favourite tropes (bodysharing.) unfortunately it turns it into a romance which is. well.#it just doesnât hit the same if you make it romantic!! so that kinda made it change traintracks from being on a direct line to#potentially 5 stars to a whole different station where i do not live. lol.#I SUPPOSE itâs a well developed relationship and Iâd prefer romances more like that than instalove I guess.#I did love their dynamic; too; but suddenly realising it was romantic threw me for a loop. I had put him in the annoying dad category.#I do also feel like we didnât get quite enough of him as an individual person and characterisation - which obviously makes sense to an#extent; but I felt like I only got to see more of him in the brief time around his father.#Also he was surprisingly chill and nice to her immediately considering he was essentially her hostage???#Anyway I did enjoy a lot of it; it just suffers the unfortunate tragedy of#[literally my favourite thing made for me] [turns that thing into literally my least favourite thing i hate]#but also -random dude youâre bound to being overly protective and considerate despite barely knowing you (platonic/familial vibe) - yeah!#random dude youâre bound to being overly protective and considerate despite barely knowing you (romantic) ehhhhâŚidk.....#(to me personally. i'm sure people enjoy that. whatever)

Lose myself to you (Patreon)
#Doodles#SCII#ZEX#The Captain#Vent?? Maybe??#I've been having something of a rough time of it lately so I actually broke and made myself some SCII hurt/comfort for a change of pace#I almost never make hurt/comfort - more of a whump creator haha ⪠- but yeah I needed it#It ended up just being a short little 1.6k jaunt but I did do it all in one sitting and got some needed emotions out so thank you these two#I think it's also my first vent fic :0 So that's interesting!#As well as the first one that I inserted images into! I've been wanting to for a while but I never have! I know how to now! :D#Constantly thinking about how oddly on equal footing these two are despite being so different#It makes the way they differ so interesting!#They're both important figures in their respective military forces and yet the Captain is so young!#Not only a lack of experience leading to the blows hitting him harder proportionally but also just - that's just how teenage human brains do#(If the Captain is still a teen - it's gotten very stuck to me that he hasn't quite turned 20 yet haha)#But again again even still he's a very young and new adult - there's a lot of chemistry going on in his brain that makes the job hard#And so having ZEX as a partner and a mentor - it creates a weird dynamic! It's interesting to me#ZEX /is/ definitely weird towards the Captain haha but past a certain point he really does only have so much power over him#And I just like it better when he guides him over trying to control him <3 Usually anyway lol - in this instance for sure#Their weird dynamic being a source of comfort and escape ⼠Of ZEX being gentle with him while still working to his own ends haha#ZEX is such an interesting character; he's hard to classify and I like that about him very much

as far as jack could tell, jervis was really out of it; and it made him wonder it was due to something that had happened while he was out with his father, or when they'd gotten here. perhaps both. jack gnawed on his bottom lip, his eyes darting to jervis's hands, which were flexing like he was struggling with something. an eyebrow rose as jack contemplated asking whether he needed some pain medication.
since he didn't receive an answer to his question yet, jack figured he might as well introduce himself. â uhh, well, you don't have to talk to me if you aren't feeling up to it. my sister told me that you fainted in front of her out there â so, i understand if you're still feeling sick. my name is jack, â he scratched at the back of his neck as he continued to observe jervis. whenever the man tried to get up, jack approached him and was about to caution jervis that maybe he shouldn't by lightly touching his shoulder.
but he remembered matilda telling him something about the other really not liking to be touched, so he merely was going to verbally tell him. up until jervis laid back down himself, anyhow. jack couldn't hold himself back from frowning at his poor present state before venturing out of the room with a 'i'll be right back.' and indeed he had been, with two different vials, alongside a few syringes to inject into that IV bag: should jervis want to be medicated. jack figured it'd be easier to just do that rather than forcing him to swallow anything.
he placed those also on the table before tilting his head at the quote jervis had said until it clicked a few seconds later, â that's a quote from through the looking glass, isn't it? and one that the red queen said in the story if i remember correctly. she was basically teaching alice that staying in the same place is falling behind, right? â jack squinted his eyes at that before a thought came to mind. a soft snort left him, but one that was done of an innocent sort of amusement rather than malice. â that is a kind of roundabout way of talking about survival of the fittest. but hey, lewis carroll was all about the whimsy of things, i guess. and its no big deal. â
jack pretended not to see the tears that the other shed for jervis's own sake. the blood on his lips was something he couldn't ignore, no matter how hard he tried, though. jack grabbed a washcloth from his pack and held it out towards's jervis's hand. once it was out of his hand was when jack set down that teacup, the slightly too long stripped pants he wore swaying across the ground. â mm, you and dad were both asleep for nearly four hours. sure â i don't think that's silly at all. i keep something on me all the time from when my brother, julien, was still around. â the bracelet he showed the other on his right wrist then seemed to be made up entirely of tiny conch shells.
julien was a big fan of the sea, which jack thought made his death all the more crushing. after seeing the state that the stuffed animal was in, he figured that that bunny must've been really loved; though it didn't really matter by whom it was. the end result was the same, as love changes you. jack knew this well as he'd never wanted anything more than to be embraced by the warmth of it.
he quickly shook that thought off, only to grab the two vials he got from the fridge once more. â eh... the four hours actually went by rather fast. â jack cleared his throat then, â you know, i couldn't help but notice that you aren't looking so hot still, and so i grabbed some meds for you. but i won't force you to take them. i have a pain reliever as well as something that relieves vertigo. are either, or both of these, something you want? â
Eigengrau.
A faint hum buzzed in his ears; his mouth was so dry it felt like heâd swallowed a wad of wool.
The thin sheet beneath him brushed his fingertips as Jervis flexed his hands, cracking his eyes open a sliver. The room tilted, everything blurring at the edges. Ah⌠so he had fainted. Just as heâd suspected. No glasses, then.
"Hey. Ahh, you're awake⌠That's awesome. How are you feeling?"
The new voice was barely a whisper, young and uncertainâbelonging to a boy, maybe sixteen or eighteen by the timber. Was this another of Barton's assistants, a friend of Matildaâs, or perhaps her brother? Jervis couldnât quite remember; hadn't Barton mentioned something about having more than one child?
He winced, his body feeling heavy, leaden; aching everywhere. Slowly, he exhaled and tried to push himself uprightâtried being the keyword. The effort brought only a wave of vertigo, dizzying and blue-hot, making his vision swim.
⌠ohh, godâŚ
He swallowed thickly, curling into himself. Something wasnât right. His glasses and gloves werenât the only thing missing. He was in his socks, jeans, and a now damp charcoal t-shirt, his body slick with cold sweat. His graying auburn curls clung to his neck in tangled ropes. His boots were beside the cot, his messenger bag on a desk across the room. His overcoat and maroon button-down were draped over a chair.
A flicker of discomfort in his right arm. Burning. Tugging.
Jervis glanced down at the source: a plastic tube. A peripheral IV catheter.
"Ah, you know... 'It takes all the running you can do, to stay in the same place,'" he muttered, his voice clipped and hollow; Bermudian accent casual, almost detached. He turned his eyes to the boy; offered him a faint, strained smile. "Keeps things interesting, I suppose... but I appreciate your concern, lad."
He lifted his fingers to his cheek, feeling the moisture trickle downâsalt on his lips. Tears, sharp and stinging. Jervis flinched and quickly scrubbed them away with the heels of his hands.
Cold metal pressed into his spine, tight around his neckâthe chain with his and Sylvieâs wedding rings twisted against his skin. He mustâve been thrashing in his sleep. There was blood on his lips.
"Forgive meâŚ" His vision swam as he watched the boy set a teacup on the small table beside the cot, just within view. "But I'm afraid I've rather lost my sense of time. How long has it been since IâŚ?" He paused, his voice barely steady. "... if... if you donât mind, could you please reach into my coat pocket? You'll find a small cuddly toy. A rabbit..." He rubbed his mouth, lowered his eyes. "It sounds foolish, I know... but it... it was my daughter's, you see..."
The boy nodded, moving quickly to retrieve the toy from Jervisâ coat pocket, and placed it on the table beside the teacup. The bunny was missing one of its button eyes, its white fur faded and matted. A pink satin ribbon around its neck was frayed and tattered.
âThank you,â Jervis said hoarsely. âI must have been out of it for quite a while.â
#divingdownthehole#tw: mentions of child death.#tw: medication.#tw: illness.#ooh okay okay đ that song was also a really good listen while reading your reply! like GAH you are just so good at selecting songs-#that capture the vibes of your replies perfectly tbhhh. BUT hiii!! and aww well i was just telling you the truth about how i felt but#its no problem at all emi!!! and OMG really? honestly i didn't get that impression at all as i thought your reply perfectly described-#just how complex the effects of trauma on a person can be as characters are a reflection of real life people so it only makes sense-#that jervis's mind is just... so chocked full of images related to the things he's been through despite him not wanting to be reliving#these events or seeing them anymore you know? and i honestly can't blame him for seemingly not wanting to do either of those things as#recovery + healing isn't really ever a straight path as you pointed out there. thus i didn't think any of it was overdramaticized or#anything of that nature! so don't worry you're totally good with that!! but yeah jervis as a character has really been dealt a bad hand#in my opinion and that's really unfortunate because no one deserves having to lose their parents or lose their daughter ):#and jervis is at a spot in his timeline where he has still lost alice relatively recently right? so that's just. UGH i feel so bad for him#tbh as having to experiencing one of your kids dying sounds really terrible.#but AWW well thank you so much for saying so!! it makes me so happy to hear that you're always excited for them. but yeahhh-#trust me when i say their madness may be even worse when they're just amongst themselves unfortunately enough ahahhh... đŤ #but i'm so honored? that you were intrigued?? by my description of him??? like AHHH i'm giving you the biggest hug RN and i just-#want to say TYSM once more!!! but yes i'm not going to lie because jack + julien were basically like brothers before barton-#even came along jack was very attached to him and julien didn't like killing people either so he was sort of a good influence on him#which might be part of the reason why he is the way he is now TBH but sadly dysfunctional family dynamics often leave people#suffering in their own way from it as you said. but AHH thank you!! you're so sweet PLSSS like i'm glad that you find him interesting-#BC he is a good person at heart unlike barton but they contrast in a different way than say jervis and him would since he tries-#to live his life down the straight and narrow buttt that doesn't always happen for him. and yesss barton is back to bother everyone / hj#LOLLL but gosh you're right!! i think i remember you mentioning it back then :00 but yeah i did some casual research on on it when you-#mentioned the quote in your reply and i thought that the red queen hypothesis had something to do with darwin's survival of the fittest-#idea + it turns out that i was right so i am somewhat proud of myself for that NGL lmao but TBH that is just another example of you-#using such good character writing with jervis because subtext and nuance is like one of those things that i find hard to write sometimes#but what a character doesn't say is also just as important AS what they say so its interesting that you'd bring that up. but huh i never-#actually thought of it that way before but that does definitely seem to check out if i'm being honest. BC grief never truly goes-

also didnât realise that amanda was their little baby but hereâs an idea if ur up for it. amanda inherits like spencerâs smartness i guess and so when she starts spewing facts about the random-est stuff spencerâs overjoyed and then bombshells just staring at them with adoration in her eyes?? idk something really fluffy
âShoes?â Amanda asks.Â
âYeah, babe.âÂ
âNo thanks.âÂ
You hold Amandaâs socked feet in your hands. âYou need shoes to keep your feet warm.âÂ
âIâll have socks.âÂ
You look past her tiny face to her father for some assistance. Spencer scratches his neck, looking absolutely exhausted, though heâs dressed sharply. Youâd spent a few minutes finger curling his hair this morning before it dried, and heâs brushed them out gently, giving him a windblown look. You pretend to take a photo of him. He rolls his eyes.Â
âAmy,â he says lovingly, baby-voice in play as he leans over the back of the couch, âyou know why you have to wear shoes?âÂ
âWhy?âÂ
âBecause growing up, your feet are very small, and very fragile. They need time to grow in proper structures, and they canât do that if you donât wear shoes when youâre walking a lot.â He gives her shoulder a rub. âDonât you wanna match me and mommy?âÂ
âYou wear shoes⌠different. Mom has heels,â she insists.Â
âWhat if I wear flats?â you ask, eager to leave the house before afternoon.Â
She shakes her head, crossing her arms over her chest with a Spencer style pout.Â
Spencer sits down next to her with a sigh. Youâre both aware of how smart she is for her age, and while it can be interesting, itâs also made some stuff so, so hard. Like explaining shoes. âIâm not want to wear them. Itâs good for my skin to breathe.â All her râs sound soft, like wâs.
You rub your eyes. Spencer sucks in an excited breath. âYes! Skin canât really breathe, but itâs good to have it uncovered sometimes to help your circulation and your pores.âÂ
ââXactly,â Amy says.Â
âAnd, you know, shoes that donât fit right force your feet into narrow positions, which can cause a whole bunch of problems.âÂ
âNo shoes,â Amy says.Â
âButâŚâ Spencer backtracks, thumbing under her eyelashes gently. âIf you donât wear your shoes, we canât go out to the store for groceries and we canât go to the bakery on the way home. Which means you wonât get your sugar donuts, mommy wonât get her slice of cake, and thatâs gonna make me so sad.âÂ
âWhy?âÂ
âBecause I love when your mom is happy. It makes me happy when sheâs happy. She doesnât look very happy now, does she?âÂ
In all honesty, youâre much too pretty to be sitting on the floor, tights to the carpeting and your cute black dress bunching up your thighs. You refuse to close yourself into the âmomâ box some may expect of you, dressing as you had before you became a mom, but youâve allowed Amanda the opportunity to choose your necklace; a gold pendant ring with green and pink sapphires. Itâs gorgeous, colourful, and doesnât even slightly go with your outfit. Spencer reaches for it now, tugging it straight carefully against your neck.Â
You frown deeply, pulling your widest, softest doe eyes. âPlease, lovely girl, put your shoes on. Or Iâm gonna have to be strict, and I hate being strict.âÂ
âDonât fw-own, mommy,â she says, listing into Spencerâs side, âyouâll get wrinkles. Worse wrinkles, âcos your muscles remember.âÂ
And again, all her râs are wâs, her pronunciation lispy and sweet despite her amazing expertise. Spencer laughs and takes her face into two hands, kissing âWow, smarty pants,â into her crown. âYouâre so smart! I canât believe it!âÂ
You feel your annoyance softening. Fine, sheâs a smarty pants, and you secretly love it so so much. Youâll just have to carry her to the car. Or her genius dad can carry her. Actually, that could be great, Spencerâs never looked so handsome as he does carrying around your little baby, especially now heâs started working out every now and then.Â
âBetter role your sleeves up, Spence,â you say, standing up off of your knees. âIâm keeping my heels on. Daddyâs gonna carry you, and youâre gonna get wonky feet.âÂ
âThatâs fine,â Spencer says to her in a whisper, âIâll carry you forever if you want me to, even if you do get all wonky, bubby.â Â
Amy preens as she wraps her arms around him and he picks her up. He takes her shoes from your hand without her seeing.Â
âIsnât she amazing?â he mouths, and he means it, his eyes wide with it.Â
âSheâs gonna protest socks, next, Spencer Reid, and then what are you gonna do?â you ask. You arenât half as concerned as youâre pretending to be. Amyâs a baby. Sheâll learn how important shoes are soon enough.Â
âIâm gonna hold her in my coat, like this,â he says, pulling his coat over her legs.Â
âLike that,â you say to yourself, grinning. âOkay, you two do what you want. Can we go now? We really need to get some groceries.âÂ

Yandere!Alhaitham x Endangered Animal Hybrid!Reader...
It starts off innocently enough. After escaping a group of Treasure Hoarders looking to sell you off to whoever would pay the most, you find yourself lost in Gandharva Ville for several days until Tighnari finds you. Knowing that you're at risk of being poached due to your rarity, but also knowing that keeping youâa feral, dangerous, and intelligent beingâin close proximity to Collei is a bad idea, the Forest Ranger writes to Alhaitham asking him to house you and keep an eye on you.
After several letters sent back and forth over the course of days, it only takes a little bit of begging on Tighnari's part to convince Alhaitham to look after you for a month. Soon enough, you're moving in and sulking around the confines of your new "home", a pout on your face at the fact that you can't escape. After all, for all your strength and agility, Alhaitham possesses a vision and a powerful intellect. You're outmatched.
Despite your attitude, Alhaitham pays you little mind. He makes sure you're fed, hydrated, and healthy, but rarely speaks more than one or two sentences at a time when talking to you. Over the days, the two of you warm up to one another a little, but nothing noticeable changes in the Scribe's demeanor.
Until he comes home one day to you sitting on a sofa, a book plucked from his personal collection spread on your lap. An Introductory Guide to Zoology, the title reads. After a moment, your ears perk up, registering the door creaking. In a flash, you turn to face him, shock painted bright red across your face.
For a few seconds, all you can hear is the battering ram that is your heartbeat smashing against your mind, chastising you for being so stupid. Now you'd be thrown out and defenseless, with plenty of dangerous people who'd jump at the chance to earn a pretty penny by pawning off a rare hybrid such as yourself.
"S-sorry," you say, shaky hands shutting the cover. But before you can, Alhaitham is quick to grab hold of the book, keeping it open.
He's so close to you, to the point where you can see the rise and fall of his chest, the sheen of sweat on his forehead from walking home in the warm weather, the pure intrigue in his eyes at this new discovery.
You intrigue him.
His eyes narrow slightly. "I didn't know you could read?" He glances at the text, discerning what exactly you're studyingâif you are studying at all, that is.
You nod. "I learned when I was very young," you say, your own eyes slowly falling to the floor, willing this conversation to be over. Luckily, the divine seem to answer your prayer and Alhaitham simply shrugs and walks away.
Little do you know, the spark of curiosity he allowed you to see had already grown into a roaring fire, burning with the desire to know you. He could hardly call his interest rational, though he does his best to find justifications and act like he believes them.
The month flies by, and you continue to believe that all is well in the world. You've just begun looking through your few belongings, trying to decide what to keep and what to get rid of before you move out, when Alhaitham enters the doorway. "Tighnari told me that you plan to leave in less than a week."
Looking up from the knick-knacks you own, you turn to Alhaitham. "Yeah. I was planning to go back to Gandharva Ville and live there for a few months," you say, your attention beginning to shift back to your possessions. Conversations with Alhaitham mostly ended after one or two sentences, and you had no reason to believe that this conversation would be any different.
"About that." Alhaitham's voice breaks through your focus like glass. "There have been reports from the Matra of increased poaching in the areas around Gandharva Ville. I'm not forcing you to stay, and neither is Tighnari, but we won't be able to protect you there as well as we can here," he says.
You frown. You had been looking forward to leaving for so long now, tired of being cooped up inside Alhaitham's home with only brief walks outsideâunder the Acting Grand Sage's supervision, of courseâto break up the boredom, only to learn that it would be dangerous to leave the city.
"I...I suppose if it's okay, I'd like to stay," you say after a moment of mental debate.
For a moment, you swear you can see the corners of Alhaitham's lips quirk upwards.
"I'll inform Tighnari of your decision as soon as possible." As per usual, after a moment of silence, Alhaitham walks away.
Time seems to fly by in increasingly rapid intervals. One week becomes two. Two weeks becomes four. Four weeks becomes eight, and so on and so forth. You slowly find yourself ensnared by Alhaitham's careful, subtle manipulation. Gandharva Ville really isn't overrun with poachers, but with how sheltered you are, you don't know that.
And week by week, day by day, you don't realize it but Alhaitham is slowly working to decode you. What about you fascinates him so deeply? As he studies you like he would one of his projects, he only finds himself falling deeper and deeper into obsession, an inescapable loop of positive feedback.
The realization comes to him one night, as dreams of you dance in his head as he sleeps. Your hand brushing against his for only a moment. The empty space on the other side of his bed filled by you, his arms holding you close every night. The tender press of your lips against his. The kind of love that transcends human nature. The kind of love that is divine.
Alhaitham is in love.
And now that he knows it, he can't let you go. Luckily for him though, you'll never escape. After all, he's already domesticated you. It's only a matter of time before you learn to love him, too.

NOT SO SECRET â inumaki toge
synopsis: you and toge were having a secret rendezvous, far away from all the others, or so you both thought
tags: fluff, gn reader
word count: 1.4k
âLook at him. Heâs infatuated....âÂ
Maki sighed, rolling her eyes at the scene happening around the corner between you and Togeâthat is, if she could even see anything, as Panda was practically blocking her vision.Â
Just peering from the bushes she and Panda were hiding from, they could see you twoâvery explicitly, she might mention, holding hands.
She knew something was afoot when Toge grabbed you by the hand the second you finished your dinner and dragged you somewhere, unbeknownst to her. Their curiosity was piqued, only for the two to find you two, alone, sitting together on a bench, enjoying each other's company in the moonlight.
Or so you two thought.
Cue having Maki and Panda staring at you two with wide-eyed eyes and curious spirits. Well, for Panda, anyway.
Now, they were a reasonable distance awayâenough to see you two together but not enough to hear a word, and neither could you guys.Â
Maki squinted her eyes, trying to decipher what exactly was going on between you and Toge through the dense and overgrown foliage that was Pandaâs ass.Â
Your silhouette was barely discernible against all the bushes blocking her view and the dimming twilight in the sky, but the subtle gestures and hushed whispers from both your and Togeâs figures spoke volumes.Â
Maki leaned in closer, her curiosity piqued despite her initial reluctance. She could not lie. Seeing Toge this intimate with someone was somewhat unexpected, unsettling even.
â...Donât you think that Togeâs demeanour is a lot more, different? Weâve never seen this before from him,â she noted, squinting her eyes at the bench you both were still sitting on, now laughing.
âShush Maki! Weâre getting to the good part!â
Maki sweatdropped at how invested Panda was. At this rate, she may as well think that Panda was also included in your guysâ relationship. âGood part, my ass. The hell are we even stalking them for?â
âFor reconnaissance,â Panda replied matter-of-factly.
âWell, yeah. Theyâre definitely close,â she shrugged begrudgingly, her voice hardly even audible. After all, they were stalking you two from behind the bushes. âBut dating? Iâm not so sure.â
âWhat else could it be? Look at the way theyâre leaning towards each other like theyâre sharing some big secret!â Panda leaned his body forward eagerly, eyes wide with excitement. He appeared to be more invested than Maki was, as if this were all some kind of romance drama in real-time. Â
But Maki, ever being the voice of reason, remained skeptical, her arms crossed tightly against her chest. âMaybe theyâre just friends?â she clicked her tongue sarcastically, still in a whisper. âEver heard of that? We canât jump to conclusions based on a few stolen glances.â
But the Panda was undeterred. âI doubt it. I believe that thereâs definitely something more. I can feel it in my bones!â
âYouâre being delusional.â
âHello, everyone~!â a voice suddenly interrupted their conversation, startling them into silence.Â
âOh godâŚâÂ
âItâs your good-looking teacher, Gojo Satoru, here toâ What are you both doing, hunched down in the bushes like that? Oh no! Donât tell me youâre now homeless!â
Maki shot her teacher a withering glare, her patience wearing thin with each passing moment.
âNow, what are you doing here, huh, Satoru?â
âSo cruel!â he cried out mockingly, but his trademark arrogance and his shit-eating, mischievous grin were on full display. "I was just thinking of checking in on my favourite students, of course. But it seems like I've stumbled upon something much more interesting."
â...Ugh.â
Thatâs it. All hope was lost. A lack of privacy did not exist. Not in Jujutsu Tech, where the most unlikely of peopleâor animals, for that matterâwere always watching.
âHonestly, I didnât think Iâd see them here alone again since the last time,â Gojo hummed.
âTheyâve been meeting here in this exact spot for the last four days now,â Maki noted. âYou think theres something going on that we donât know about?â
âWell, of course!â Panda said a matter of factly. âIsnât it clear that they're dating?â
All eyeballs shifted to the scene where they saw Toge holding your hand close to his face, and you leaned on his shoulder. The intimacy between you two was evident even from a distance from where they were watching.
Togeâs fingers brushed past yours before grabbing them firmly, your fingers intertwining with his. Toge's gaze met yours, and a soft smile graced both your lips. A silent exchange of warmth without an onigiri ingredient was said from Toge in sight.
âOh shit! Theyâre getting handsy!â Gojo gasped, seeing this happen first-hand.Â
âBe quiet,â Maki hissed. âYouâre loud-ass is going to get us caught.â
âThat's right. Weâre just getting to the good part!â Panda added with a playful smirk, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle before them. It was comedic, really.Â
Maki sighed. There really was no reasoning with those idiotsâŚ
Gojo bent over to Maki and Panda. âSo, are we just waiting for them to make out?â
A tick mark appeared on Maki and Pandaâs faces. âThis guyâŚâ
Just as they were spying on you two, Pandaâs hefty weight, along with the shock of Gojoâs surprise appearance, poured over the scene. But their attempt at stealth was quickly foiled as they toppled over each other like a cascade of dominoes, making a loud noise, something that you two very much picked up on in this seemingly quiet space.Â
Caught off guard, you and Toge stood up and turned towards the commotion, eyebrows raised in surprise, eyes and ears attuned to the noise that had just come unexpectedly from behind where you once sat.
âWhat theââ
Maki began to sweat. âJust great.â
You and Toge, now standing before the toppled mound of bodies, exchanged a puzzled glance, eyebrows raised in surprise, only to be quickly replaced by amusement at the spectacle unfolding before your eyes.Â
âSalmon salmon.â
âHuh? Maki, Panda, andâ Gojo too!?â
Everyoneâs necks turned, only to see you and Toge standing before them, holding hands. You and Toge exchanged knowing glances.Â
âAhemâŚâ your eyes flushed in embarrassment, your voice faltering as your hand remained enlaced with Togeâs, glued to the moment. âDid you⌠see everything?âÂ
Caught red-handed, their faces flushed with embarrassment. Well, Maki, mostly. Panda and Gojo could not give a single damn; they were more interested in the fact that you were there.
Finally, they asked the burning question, "Are you and Toge dating?"
They exchanged looks filled with curiosity and anticipation, making you sweat. Their gazes shifted between you and Toge, practically demanding an answer from either of you, clearly not willing to take no for an answer.Â
There was silence, right beforeâŚÂ
âHuh? Oh, yeah, we are.â
âWHAT?!â
âI was right!â Panda started dancing around.
With a tilt of your head, you turned to face the pale blonde, who blinked at you, all with the innocent expression he always had.Â
âToge, I thought you said you were going to tell them?â
âTuna.â
The boy gave you a sheepish expression, Togeâs small muffles speaking through the layered shirt he always wore. You inhaled deeply and continued to hold his hand, tightening your grip. âDonât worry. I could never get mad at you, Toge. Like, come on, just look at the expressions on their faces. The poor souls.â
âHuhâŚ?â
Toge's gaze softened at your words as he nodded in agreement. "Salmon roe.â
His expression said it all. It was one of adoration, to be able to hold your hand and spend time with you, that brought him immeasurable joy in his quiet world. One that the others hardly ever saw in the pale-haired boy let alone a mere smile, all but hidden away under his mask, quite literally.Â
You couldn't help but chuckle softly at his choice of words. You rubbed at his straightened, pale hair, utterly oblivious to the incredulous stares of Maki, Panda, and Gojo.
âYes, yes, salmon roe,â you replied with a wide grin of your own, feeling a warmth spread fruitfully in your chest as if the three were mere background props in your own quirky sitcom.
As for the second years? WellâŚ
âIs this supposed to be romanticâŚ?â they all sweatdropped.
Heaven forbid the words of onigiri ingredients could ever be considered âromantic.â
âAre we⌠interrupting something personal here?â Panda neared closer to Maki, whispering in her ear, only to receive a punch right in the gullet.
âSo, were we the first to learn about your relationship?â Panda sparkled as if they werenât just interrupting a moment of yours a moment ago, or even that he was just punched. Having a puppy body has its advantages, perhaps.
âOh,â you blinked. âNo. It was Ijichi, actually, a few days ago.â
âSO YOU BOTH WERE GETTING HANDSY!âÂ
âNot really. He walked into the classroom while me and Toge were in the middle of-â
âI CAN'T BELIEVE IT! YOU TWO REALLY WERE MAKING OUT!â
âThatâs not it eitherâŚâ

An incredibly thoughtful and intelligent interview with Kathryn Hahn! Here's a bunch of my highlights under the cut - this interview was definitely done after episode 6.
Shout-out to @isagrimorie and @the-ominous-owl for finding this first
Happy to see someone complimenting Hahn on how well she's embodying the character right down to her fingertips. The interviewer asked the thing I've been dying to know: how it was like working with her movement coach Jennifer White.
Turns out she didn't work with her much for AAA, since Agatha doesn't have her powers, but she worked closely with her for WV where White would propose specific movements for the different spells she had to do, giving her options.
Hahn lets it slip at around 6:11 that Agatha gets her powers back at the very end. Which yeah if you've been watching trailers seems kinda obvious but there you go.
I love how Hahn naturally slips in and out of character in her answers to these questions â she's clearly spent so much time and easily gets into that headspace. It also shows how good these questions are in exploring the character.
Yes, Agatha's whole trauma with her mom did of course make it difficult for her to trust other witches or anybody. "Centuries of survival mechanisms, she just makes a joke."
Interesting: Not only does Rio understand and see parts of Agatha she doesn't want others to see, Agatha "sees things in [Rio] that she's trying to conceal."
Hahn describes their very long and complicated history as one that is "filled with love and respect and hate", with Hahn saying that Rio has really been the only one whose energy has felt equal to Agatha, "someone to spar with and be shocked by".
Agatha's default mask / shell is to be mean. That's always an available option.
Agatha surprises herself with the empathy she's finding for this coven the more time she spends with them, because it is a coven of outcasts. It's new and weird and unexpected for her.
Hahn aligning with Schaeffer's interpretation that Agatha has limited control over her siphoning power: "It's like something takes over and she just absorbs people's power... When she find herself doing it, it's like she can't help it. She just takes."
Hilarious based on Hahn's reaction that she never unpacked the episode 5 aftermath scenes consciously until now. "Oh Agatha." Yep she is a real mess when you actually look at her lol.
Happy that Hahn's perspective is aligning with my meta of how complicated Agatha's relationship with Billy is: It's "an echo of something", Agatha's happy and proud that he's dropped the ruse and is embracing his witch identity, and that he's capable of murder. And she remembers the little kid she babysat.
You can tell how much Hahn cares for and is protective of the character when she talks about how vulnerable Agatha was under the spell and how she was brought low.
Hahn did say "foreplay" when responding to the question about the Episode 1 physical fight, and Rio and Agatha going at each other despite not being able to kill each other.
"I think it's a testament to how strong their bond is that it could reach through a spell and find each other there. And she was really responsible â and Teen â for getting me out of the spell."
"So it felt familiar, like we've done this again, a million times over the years. And it always kinda ends like that. 'Not this time!' but you know what I mean? We keep it going."

The Headboard
Summary: when you find yourself in a compromising position, youâre lucky that youâre a hot neighbor who just so happens to be a firefighter, is just next door.
Pairing: firefighter!Toji Fushigurux AFAB!Reader
Word Count: 2,935
Warning: Language, smut, p-in-v, mentions of sex toys, degradation, name calling, unprotected smut.
A/N: A genuine fear I had often thought about when people tell me this is what they do. Plus, the DILF vibes were strong today.
Fushiguro Toji had no complaints about having you as a neighbor. Youâre kind and quiet; you even watched Megumi for him if he needed a sitter. You would invite him and his son to your apartment for dinner, or he would do the same for you. The whole of being neighbors became friendship, and friendship turned into longing. Toji hated it when you would bring home someone who wasnât good enough for you. He would spoil you rotten but didnât want to ruin your friendship.
Nothing would be worse than an interaction after an awkward one-night stand that ended with you both not talking to each other because he would be the first to admit that he liked having you over for dinner. He enjoyed it when you came over with cookies or watched a movie with him and his son. If things were to become awkward or standoffish with you, that might be one of the worst things to happen to them in a very long time.
So, he would wait a bit to see how things would progress with you. Maybe once the lingering glances and the accidental brushes of your hands would turn into a little bit more. Perhaps once he better understood you and how you might feel, consider telling you he wanted to be more than friends.
Those thoughts ran through his mind as he sprawled out on his couch, not paying any attention to the movie on the television. Megumi was at a sleepover with his best friend Yuuji. He was all alone, not being stuck at the firehouse on call, filling his quiet evening with boredom.
Maybe he should call and ask if you want to come over; you could both watch a movie to make the most of a boring night. Just as he reached for his phone to call you, your name and profile picture popped up on his phone. Toji answered the phone with a slight grin, holding it against his ear.
âHey, I was just about to call you. Do you wanna comeââ
âToji, youâre a firefighter, right?â
Your voice sounded breathless, almost with a hint of timidness. âYeah, you know that. Why did you start a grease fire next door? Do not try to put it out with water; smother it with some flour.â You laughed only to be cut off with a whine.
âUhm, uhâno, not that.â you sighed, âY-you've seen some weird stuff, right? Like helped people?â
âYeah, despite the title firefighter, Iâm also medically trained and have helped many people in different scenarios. Why, what happened?â
The silence for a long moment told you to think that maybe, just maybe, the line disconnected before he heard him wince. âI-I need your help. But you have to promise youâll never tell a soul about this.â A mixture of different emotions currently course through every nerve of his body. Heâs concerned that youâre hurt, and his interest is peaked as to what you got yourself into this time.
âOf course, you have my word. I promise I won't say anything.â
âGood,â cloth rustles in the background, âyou can come over right now. You still have my spare key. You still have my spare key.â
âYeah, you gave it to me to water your plants that always die.â
âI don't have a green thumb sue me! Now please grab your medical bag and get your ass over here!â
The tone of your voice had him getting off the couch in a snap.â Alright, be there in a sec.â without you even having to ask, Toji grabbed his medical bag and your spare key.
You're nowhere to be found when he steps inside your apartment. âHey?â He calls out, smirking slightly. âFire department.â A squeak resonates from the bedroom.
âIn here!â you call out, voice shaky, âb-but before you come in, I will emphasize that if you tell anyone! And I mean anyone about this, I will rip your balls off and shove them down your throat!â
Toji almost tells you not to threaten him with a good time, but he knows you from the whine that leaves the room. You were obviously in pain, and weâre taking this very seriously. Instead of making lighthearted jokes and conversation to push your buttons, he put on the best professional face before entering your room. The second he looks at your bed, his jaw drops to the floor in shock.
Youâre naked from the waist down, your body bent forward, your ass pressed against the headboard. Your knee mustâve gotten stuck between the headboard and your mattress from how you're bent. Making it impossible for you to move in the predicament you found yourself in. Your cheeks are flushed as you averted your gaze, not daring to look at him. Toji was a smart guy; he was able to put two and two together.
Someone was having some alone time, and things had taken a terrible turn.
âWhat happened?â Toji clears his throat as he trots forward, opens his medical bag, and slips on some black latex-free gloves.
You want to crawl under your bed and cry out in embarrassment. How could you have put yourself in such an embarrassing situation? It was bad enough that you had gotten yourself stuck, and it was ten times worse now that the man youâve had a crush on since you moved into the building was here helping you! But you would rather him find out what a size queen you were than call the fire department.
âI uhm, the uhââ you motion back to your headboard where your thrusting toy was stuck to your headboard. âIt hitâmy cervix hard, and I jumped, and my knee slipped between my mattress and my headboard.â
âHuhâokay, just try to relax a bit. I will look into getting that knee out first.â He gets on the bed behind you before gently grabbing your knee. As he does, the movement causes you to slide further down the toy, causing it to hit your cervix for a second time. The sharp, pleasurable pain can be felt from the tips of your toes to your head as you let out a pained moan. âSorry.â Tojiâs voice sounds more profound and more fierce. That you had never heard before; it was a voice that made every nerve in your body slowly awaken with lust.
âI-Itâs okayââ
He gently moves your leg again, freeing it slightly. âSo,â he goes with the questions when you were sure he was going to ask, âyour boyfriend busy or something?â His question held no humor to it; instead, it was pure curiosity, and his voice made the nerves that reignited tingle with anticipation.
âWhat boyfriend? Who said I had a boyfriend?â
Toji glances at the curve of your ass, admiring the arch of your back, before he goes back to gently moving your leg. âOh, I just assumed a pretty thing like you had one.â His hand gently grumps your ass as he maneuvers your leg a little bit more to the left, freeing it another inch.
âDo you honestly think if I had a boyfriend, I wouldâve stuck a dildo to my headboard?â
âHey, to each their own. So, no boyfriend?â
âYep, single and ready to mingle. I let my friend convince me to try this position. She said it would liven up my solo sessions.â For as long as you can remember, the only way you masturbated was on your back. When you had mentioned this to your friends, they had been mortified, telling you there was more than one way to get yourself off. You so stupidly let them talk you into buying this stupid, expensive dildo and decided to give it a shot. That shot ended up with your knee stuck between your mattress and the wall and having to rely on your neighbor to help you.
âHm,â Toji gave your ass a firm squeeze before gently pushing you forward off the toy a couple of inches, drawing out the sweetest sounds from your throat. âWould now be an inappropriate time to ask you out?â
A choked sound of shock cut off the moan that had begun to rise in your throat. There was no way he had just asked you out on a dateâyour hot neighbor. The sexy firefighter next door asked you on a date. Was this a prank? Oh god, why did he have to ask you out now, of all times? Despite the searing embarrassment, you canât help but giggle, turning to look back at the massive man.
âSeriously?â
âYeah, I think youâre hot and good with my kid; plus, I can make you feel so much better than this stupid toy.â
Heat began to pool in your abdomen as you continued to watch him carefully. âOh, is that so?â he pulls his hand away from the fat of your ass, only to bring it back down, slapping it, making you help in pleasure and surprise.
âIt's a fucking promise.â The tip of his pink tongue runs over the scar on his lip. âSo, dinner?â
You laugh breathlessly, throwing your head back as he massages the sting out of your ass. âWould you be opposed to me counteroffering that?â Toji hand on your leg gently moves another inch, freeing you from the abyss you had been stuck in.
âWell, that depends on what your counteroffer is?â
The muscles in your leg burn with relief as you stretch it out, getting the blood flowing to it. Toji watches with dark eyes as you slowly in yourself off of the 9-inch toy thatâs coated in your slick arousal. The sight of the coral-colored silicone covered in your wetness has his throat so dry it hurts.
âMy counteroffer is that we skip the first date, and you help me with my current problem. You are a firefighter. Itâs your job to help people.â
âOooh, are you asking me to fuck you right now?â
âMaybe~ if I were to ask you to do just that, what would you say?â When you turn your head to look at him, your face is quickly snatched in his hands. His hand grips your chin tightly towards his mouth.
âI would say itâs about fucking time.â
His lips slam against yours in a symphony of desperation and need. He quickly shifts behind you, pushing you towards the center of the bed and away from the cavern you had found yourself trapped in moments before. The entire time he moves you, his lips never leave yours. Itâs a messy open-mouth kiss, with tongue and groping hands as he releases his grip on your face, panting heavily as a string of saliva connects your lips.
âDo you know how hard itâs been trying to control myself? I try so hard to be a good, friendly neighbor. One that doesnât come off as a creep.â he positions himself behind you down his gray sweatpants, spraying his thick fat cock. âLet me tell you, itâs been fucking hard; you are so goddamn fucking beautiful. Smart, funny, a great cook.â
You grip the sheets underneath you as he continues his confession. He told you how much he admired your strength and beauty. The pure admiration and raw need thatâs in his voice makes your pussy clench, your arousal seeping out of your twitching hole. God, you knew you liked him, but knowing he was so damn bad for you, made you want him even more.
âI need you to fuck me.â Thereâs no doubt in your words that's precisely what you wanted. The word âwantâ isnât even included in your sentence! You didn't like this, and you needed it on a physical level.
âYeah~? Need me to fuck that tight slutty hole?â His hands connect with your ass again, so smacking it hard, leaving a faint hand print in its wake. âIs that what you need, baby~?â
âYes!â you shake your ass in front of him, dropping down low, revealing your wet hole to him as if trying to convince him to hurry the fuck up.
âMhmm, that's a good little slut; tell me exactly what she wants; no, wait, Iâm sorry, what she needs.â he grabs his thick cock in one hand. Toji held his cock, smacking it over your pussy. âAnd she claims that she needs my cock.â
You rock your hips back, fingers digging into the sheets as your chest heaves in anticipation of being filled to the brim by human flesh and not cold silicon. âYes, please.â Toji tsks behind you giving your pussy, another sharp slap with his cock, the tip snagging at your entrance before he rubs it over your clit.
âNah, I think you could do better than that. Try again to tell me what it is that you want.â
âI need you!â you cry out loud this time, shutting your eyes and anticipation of him thrusting inside of you, just feeling the head of his cock snag over your clit for the second time. âPlease, Toji! Please, please, please.â
Grabbing the base of his thick, heavy cock, he gently presses it over your entrance over your slick hole. âPlease, what baby girl~? Use your words, big like pretty little slut you are.â this was an absolute tort. Having your kit in your pussy, teased with nothing but finger-like touches, have you jerking and writhing against the bed.
âPlease fuck me, Toji!â you screamed, not having to worry about your next-door neighbor complaining about the noise.
âThat's a good girl.â Toji slapped your ass with a snarl, gripping the skin and spreading your cheeks. âI always knew you were a good girl. Always so sweet and friendly, the perfect innocent neighbor next door. but who wouldâve thought that you would be fucking a toy against your headboard.â He spits his words before suddenly burying his cock fully into you.
You screamed out loud as his cocked stretched you like you'd never been stretched red d before, sending your eyes rolling back. "Nnngh~! Mmph~ Toji!"
âFuck-Ngh.â Toji moaned, feeling your walls convulse around him. "You feel so good, baby. Fuckâbaby, baby! Shitâbeing inside of you was so worth the wait!â
âOooh fuck~!â Tojiâs hands press into the middle of your back, pushing your shoulders down further into the mattress, allowing your back to be pushed down, beautifully showing the curves of your body for him. âJust like that, Toji, fuck, donât stop, please donât stop!â
âOh, Iâm not stopping until youâre crying. Your in need a good dicking down since you werenât able to finish, Iâm assuming.â
âY-Yes!â You cry out, gripping the sheets tighter as you rock your hips back into his. âYes, I want to cum so bad~!â
âOh, I know you do, baby,â Toji smirked as he pushed you by your shoulders down into the bed, thrusting deep and hard.
His cock continues to hit your g-spot and your cervix, but his warm hot tip is nothing compared to the silicone. You had been using it earlier. So your eyes roll back. "Oh fuck! ~!" At this rate, you weren't going to last very long.
âHoooly fuck.â Toji moaned, feeling your walls flutter around him as your legs started to tremble. "Fuck-Ngh. Youâre about to cum. Fuckâbaby, baby! Shit--Iâm going to fucking fill you up. Is that okay?â he didnât give you much time to answer as he angled his hips, thrusting precisely against that sponge spot inside of you. The one that had you seeing stars as your orgasm hit you like a freight train.
You whimpered loudly, turning to desperately kiss Toji as you squirted all over cock. "Ah~! Nnngh!!" your eyes rolled back as your body convulsed with the waves of your orgasm.
"Fuck! FuckfuckâMâ cumming, IâAhhh ahahânngh!" Toji doubled over, his forehead pressing into your back as he kept cumming, releasing the months of pent-up desire into you.
He collapsed on top of you quickly, putting his arms out on either side of your smaller frame, bracing his weight upon them in an attempt not to crush you. You painted happily, grinning as you turned your head to stare up at the flushed, sweat-coated man who had fucked you thoroughly. He smirked, his scar stretching as his lips curled up.
His smirk, however, is short-lived as you push back against him, causing him to slip out of you as his back lands against your mattress. As he blankly waters, it allows you to straddle his hips, dribble, drop combined cum, and rub all over his dick as you so lewdly rub your pussy up and down on him. âI hope you have more where that came from because Iâm far from being done with you, sir.â
âHey,â he smirked, putting both his hands behind his head as he watched your position, his cock at your entrance. âIm a firefighter have pretty good fucking stamina. Letâs see what you got.â Little did he know you were a fire that could not so easily be put out. Not that he was complaining.

Part one of combining every version of PJO characters :)))
Percy and Annabeth!
[tap/click for better quality] Itâs pretty self explanatory. Read below the cut for my nerdy art processes.
So obviously, Iâm referencing and color-dropping their old official art, new official art, movie, musical and tv show appearances.
Percyâs-
All of the Percyâs seem to have pretty well defined jaw lines and soft cheek bones. Most of them have square or diamond shaped faces, so I leaned into that more. I also realized they have wider nose bridges in addition to the slightly upturned nose so I went with that as well. Pretty much all the Percysâ have thick eyebrows, especially in the front, so I went with more of a taper and more down turned. The eyes pretty consistent. The hair was pretty easy, the textures kind of canceled out back into the his original description of having wavy, despite the OG art not really conveying that at all. Was kind of surprised that Walkerâs hair didnât lighten the combined colors more, as well as his and Loganâs eye color not making the color more blue.
Annabethâs-
Annabethâs was pretty interesting, just cause Iâve always associated her with having sharper and more angular features even though all her actresses and official art works have softer and more rounded features. Especially the nose.
Either way most of the annabethâs cheek bines are lower and softer. She pretty much always has a flat and narrow nose bridge thatâs usually much wider at the bottom. Her skin tone ended up being close to what I already use when I draw her- I was pretty shocked it wasnât darker, but none of the official art shows annabeth as being as tan as sheâs described to be. Her hair color was pretty much what I expected, same with her eye color. The hair texture was a little weird for me, cause Leahâs curl pattern is very different from the curl pattern Kristen has when she portrays Annabeth, which are both different from the curl pattern in Viriaâs art. Alexandraâs hair is pin straight and OG official art annabethâs hair is pretty limp except for a few half hearted curls at the bottom. So the hair texture you see was my best attempt at combining them all. Also I put a little braid in her hair to represent her braids in the show. Her eyes, much like all her other features, were a lot more soft and round than I usually draw her as having. I normally picture her with narrow, intense, diamond shapes eyes. A lot of her appearances, despite her description in the books, have big, soft, round eyes- which I thought was actually kinda cute cause sheâs so smart and clever and observant that her having these big, round, curious eyes was made sense too.
But yeah. Thatâs about it. This was really fun and I plan on doing more :)

I am definetly in the minority here, but I was always so deeply touched by Mai's confession during that scene.
There's just something about Mai's confession that makes me feel so unbearably sad. I think the first thing that hits me is just how... empty she seems in this situation compared to the rest of the Firesome Foursome. Zuko is angryâ˘ď¸ and lashing out, Ty Lee is sad and concerned and Azula is posturing. But Mai is just so devoid of even sadness around her chidlhood trauma.
It's sort of like she shut down emotionally to some extent, (even more than usual) especially after her fight with Zuko.
This is quite a common reaction to arguments from someone who was raised to be obedient and non-confrontational, so I'm not surprised she was acting like this.
Analysing Mai's behaviour on the beach is interesting.
She seems to try to reach out to Zuko in her own, tepid little way by greeting him, but clams back up when he asks her where "her new boyfriend" was. This leads to her smacking his hand away when he tries to reach out to her by asking if she's cold. They're both trying to mend the bridge, but end up escalating the conflict further.
She remains silent for a good while, but does speak up in order to defend Ty Lee from Zuko lashing out. Despite this, when Zuko persists, Mai doesn't push the issue, perhaps due to her upbringing to be placid.
Due to this, I find it intriguing when Mai mocks Ty Lee for attention seeking, since she had attempted to defend Ty Lee from Zuko's ridicule. But perhaps its due to jealousy or frustration by Ty Lee's freely expressed sorrow and trauma that made Mai lash out in her own way.
Or it's just because the writers didn't know how to jump from Ty Lee's traumadump to Mai's lol
This is where we get into the meat and potatoes of Mai's confession.
Ty Lee bites back at Mai and parrots Zuko's opinion of Mai being "a big blah" as he said.
Ty Lee : Well, what's your excuse, Mai? You were an only child for fifteen years, but even with all that attention, your aura is this dingy, pasty, gray ... Mai : I don't believe in auras. Zuko: Yeah, you don't believe in anything. Mai : Oh, well, I'm sorry I can't be as high-strung and crazy as the rest of you. Zuko: I'm sorry, too. I wish you would be high-strung and crazy for once instead of keeping all your feelings bottled up inside. She just called your aura dingy. Are you gonna take that?
I think what's interesting here is that while Ty Lee saw Mai as recieving the attention Ty Lee had craved, Mai seemed to receive less loving, parental attention, and more scrutiny. Mai's parents also seem to be actually rather neglectful emotionally towards Mai and them just leaving Tom Tom unsupervised behind a screen in Omashu leaves me questioning if they actually cared that much.
Mai deflects, not adressing Ty Lee's question, but rather focusing on the nebulous concept of auras instead. When Zuko butts in, trying to rile her up, Mai gives a sarcastic apology. I find it very interesting that she sets hereself so aside from the others in terms of her not being "high strung and crazy", because it really shows the difference in Mai's upbringing and that of her companions. Azula and Zuko were raised to be leaders and fighters, and their "firebender instincts" were encouraged, while Ty Lee persumably had to compete for attention with her siblings. While Mai was raised with the :be seen and not heard" mentality.
Now is also a good time to mention that I think Mai has almost comically obvious signs of depression, which wouldn't be a stretch.
Zuko calling Mai out for not getting angry over Ty Lee insulting her aura leads me to my next point. Persumably, being a child raised by parents like Michi and Ukano, Mai wasn't allowed to voice her discomfort, offence or upset. Hell we see this in Omashu when Mai complains about being bored and Michi basically shuts her down and tells her to enjoy it.
I mean look at the expression Michi gives Mai when she starts complaining about being bored, a very normal teenager thing to do.
And when Mai finally does speak her mind, it is no less heartwrenching.
Mai : What do you want from me? You want a teary confession about how hard my childhood was? Well, it wasn't. I was a rich only child who got anything I wanted... as long as I behaved and sat still, and didn't speak unless spoken to. My mother said I had to keep out of trouble. We had my dad's political career to think about.
The first thing that jumps out at us is how Mai presents her trauma. She doesn't explicitly express any pain or sadness, despite it being rather obvious to us. This is in stark contrast to the rest of the group. Ty Lee and Zuko are both very open about their negative emotions, hell, even Azula admits that Ursa's actions hurt her.
But Mai? Mai kneecaps her complaint. This can also be seen as an effect of her upbringing. No complaining, no making herself inconvenient for mom and dad.
We also see the theme of conditional love, an implied idea that Michi and Ukano would only give Mai affection or gifts if she acted the way they wanted her to. Now conditional love from people who are meant to raise you will fuck you up.
The comics also add that Michi actively told Mai scary stories about the Kemurimage to keep her in line. Now, telling kids stories about magical beings to get them to behave isn't anything new, but it appears to be so bad that Mai had nightmares over it. Also we're in a world where spirits actually exist, evil chidnapper spirits don't seem too far out the realm of possibility.
Also as someone who got raised by a heavily Catholic mother who made me believe I would burn in hell for an eternity if I even mildly displeased her, I do sympathise
Azula: Well, that's it, then. You have a controlling mother who had certain expectations, and if you strayed from them, you were shut down. That's why you're afraid to care about anything, and why you can't express yourself. Mai : You want me to express myself? [Stands up and yells.] Leave me alone! Zuko: I like it when you express yourself. [Approaching, attempting to put a hand on her shoulder.] Mai : Don't touch me! I'm still mad at you. Zuko: My life hasn't been that easy either, Mai. Mai: Whatever. That doesn't excuse the way you've been acting.
I love when Mai yells at Azula for frying to psychoanalyse her. Like Azula was right, but it understandably upset Mai, and it's a good thing she expressed that. It means she's growing.
I also do adore that Mai does not let Zuko get away with acting out, particularly towards her. I like that the writer's didn't just have Mai give Zuko a free pass because he had a shitty life and she actively called him out on his actions. It's probably my favourite part of their relationship. And Mai expressing so much anger and upset is a perfect crescendo to her little scene.
I don't know why but Mai confession scene just holds so much weight and emotion for me, I can't help but feel something whenever I watch it.
Also, side note, I find it an interesting detail that Azula's confession only came after the fire was extinguished. Perhaps it wasn't intentional but it kinda feels like its symbolising that the light "went out" for Azula (at least narrativewise) and that while Zuko, Ty Lee and Mai would be able to get out of their shitty situations and from under the Fire Nation's influence, she would not.
#mai has the trauma that would usually have characters characterised as shy uwu beans but she's a lil emo and that's why ppl don't get it#mai get behind me i will defend you from the haters#see i totally understand why people chose zukos#because it makes me emotional everytime i watch it#but there's also another part of me that looks at him like: âwell well well if it isn't the consequences of your own actionsâ#mai#avatar mai#atla mai#avatar#atla#avatar: the last airbender#avatar the last airbender#the last airbender#azula#zuko#ty lee#maiko

⧠Summary: Hyunjin was a good agent. At least, he thought he was. The moment he is ordered to work with a very unpredictable, dangerous you (who also happens to be his little crush), things change. At every step you test his patience, push his limits only to see how far heâs ready to go.
⧠A/N : Aaaaaand it's finally out! It took me longer than I expected to finish this piece. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did while writing it! Like and reblogs are appreciated, comments too âĽ

âDid you hear? She got suspended. Again.â
Hyunjin was not eavesdropping. Not really. Not completely. It wasnât even his fault in the first place if people werenât being discrete and he just happened to be having his coffee right here. It wasnât also his fault that the simple mention of suspension and again meant only one thing: you.
And that did get his attention. Without even realizing it, Hyunjin leant a little closer while sipping his coffee, wanting to hear more about their complaints.
âAgain?â The second woman sighed and shook her head in disapproval. âItâs the second time this month alone! I really donât understand how they allow her to work here.â
To that Hyunjin actually had an answer. Or at least half of it. The bosses could disagree with your behavior, your rudeness, your methods all they wanted â you were the only one who didnât hesitate to dirty your hands, to infiltrate the darkest places and succeed. The results were staggering. No other agents managed to accomplish as much as you did in only two years. They hated you and admired you at the same time. And those women were no different. They could complain about you all they wanted, but they were simply jealous.
Yes, you were an incredible agent. Yes, your methods were questionable and a little bit bloody for Hyunjinâs liking (he shivered at the memory of you throwing a knife at another agent, grazing his ear, because he had offended you). But you were also a dangerous, cold beauty that they envied.
Jisung plopped beside Hyunjin with his own coffee in one hand. He observed his friend for a moment before smirking. âWhy the long face? Itâs only nine in the morning.â
Hyunjin ignored his comment, his attention was still on the women, straining to hear more about you. Unfortunately for him, they were done complaining. Or maybe they stopped because of the two menâs presence.
He sighed. âTheyâre talking about Y/N.â
Jisung snickers. âOf course they are.â He took a sip of his coffee, smiling knowingly into the cup. âAnd youâve been eavesdropping because?â
Hyunjin shrugged, pretending that it was nothing. As if Jisung wasnât already aware of why he was so interested. He took a sip of his own coffee, only to wince and realize that while he had been so concentrated on the conversation, his coffee got cold. What a lovely day, it couldnât get worse.
âBecause I thrive on gossips.â Hyunjin tried to make it sound like it was not a big deal. He wasnât lying, not completely at least. He did enjoy office gossips; sometimes because the gossips were so ridiculous, he couldnât understand how people could believe their words. Sometimes, because he would catch info he could use later.
âYeah. It has nothing to do with our sweet and lovely Y/N.â Jisung mocked.
Hyunjin sighed in defeat. There was no use pretending with Jisung, despite his looks and his nonchalant attitude, he was incredibly observant and Hyunjinâs little (fat) crush on you didnât go unnoticed. âFine. I couldnât help myself.â
Jisungâs grin stretched and he leaned closer, ready to either tease him till he would cry or be a good friend and end his misery. âSee, not so hard! And since Iâm an amazing friend, I will even help you. I know why theyâre talking about Y/N.â
Hyunjin cocked a brow, taken off guard. But it made sense. The two of you were friends, Hyunjin just never guessed you would talk about your cases with him.
âOur little Y/N was hunting a criminal for the past week. Canât remember his name even if I helped her to track him. He took a hostage, threatened the manâs life. What a bad idea, but he couldnât know that, could he? She shot the victim in the leg to shock the dude. Worked marvelously. She got him.â
Was it anyone else, Hyunjin would have been surprised. But he wasnât. The only thing that still surprised him was your creative ways at getting things done. Apparently, nothing could stop you. Not even someoneâs else life was on the line.
âHow did she even explain herself?â Hyunjin wondered out loud.
âThatâs a good question.â Jisung admitted and shrugged, âShe has her ways, I guess. She doesnât tell me everything.â
âSure about that?â
Jisung gave him a lazy smile. âBy the way, boss wants to see you. Right now.â
Hyunjin groaned and quickly got back on his feet. âAnd you couldnât tell me sooner?â
âNope.â Jisung laughed, âWas enjoying the moment, you know.â
***
Hyunjin was not excited to see the boss. Not because he didnât do his work and risked to get scolded, but more like every time he went to his office he could be sure to leave with some bad news. And that, he wished to avoid. He was tired and frustrated with his case. He had been working on the same case for the past few weeks and unfortunately, even with Jisungâs help, he couldnât track the hacker that had been attacking big companies. The man or the woman was a ghost, leaving little clues to his or hers identity and it was slowly driving him crazy.Â
Before he could even knock at the door, he heard voices. Especially one voice. Yours. And by the sound of it, he could easily guess that you were not pleased. Not to say pissed. He hesitated, hand frozen mid-air. Should he knock? Should he wait? But then, Namjoon wanted to see him and if you were already inside, he wondered if whatever the news was, you were supposed to hear it too. Curious, really. And unheard of.
Hyunjin took a deep breath and then pushed the door, deciding that with all the yelling, his knock would go unnoticed. Barely one foot in the office and Hyunjin halted, flinching as a vase flew straight to the wall beside him, shattering in pieces.
Well, you were in a mood.
Hyunjin was highly aware of your temper, heard stories about it, witnessed a few times too. It amazed him how you didnât try to hide it. Some agents were just like you, anger eating them from inside, but they would do their best to hide their feelings just to avoid the troubles.
You didnât and he had to admit that he found it a little hot. Maybe there was something wrong with him too.
He had been working for Namjoon for a little over five years and it was definitely a first for him to see someone show so much anger before him. Or was it directed at him? Which would be even odder.Â
He cleared his throat and before he could utter a single word, your eyes found his. He froze, forgetting how to breathe for a second. There was so much fire, so much rage in your eyes, it was unsettling. Hyunjin wasnât a coward, in fact, because of his pretty face people often underestimated him, when really, he was a great manipulator when needed and could fight for his life if required. But facing your fiery character and the anger in your eyes made his skin crawl and wish for the floor to swallow him whole.Â
What a lovely creature.Â
One last angry glare from you and then you huffed, crossed your arms over your chest and took a seat, ignoring his existence.Â
Namjoon shook his head and sighed. Apparently, Hyunjin wasnât the only tired one, the man looked like a ghost himself with dark circles under his eyes. âCome in, Hyunjin. Take a seat.â And then he looked at you again, pinning you with his stare, a silent communication going on.Â
Whatever Namjoon had to say, you were part of it, now he was sure about it. He didnât know how he felt about it.Â
Hyunjin sat in the empty chair beside you, having a hard time not to look at you. He didnât have many opportunities to be in your presence or even talk to you. No, you werenât a kind of person who appreciated getting involved with others. Quite the opposite. Less you saw them and happier you were. And yet, despite this coldness, you were Jisungâs friend and Hyunjin couldnât stop but wonder how Jisung managed to convince you that he was worth a shot. He was the opposite of you; lively, always friendly, spending half of his time cracking jokes. And yet, it worked. Unfortunately, Hyunjin never managed to get close to you which left him with no choice but admire you from afar.Â
âIâll make it short.â Namjoon started, his eyes darting back and forth between the two of you, looking stern and at the same time, preparing for another storm to blow up his office. Namjoon was indeed very tired and wasnât paid enough to deal with this shit. âI need both of you to work together on a case. And before you protest,â He pointed at you, his scowl deepening as he noticed you clenching your fists, ready to jump and protest, âItâs not negotiable.â
âYou got to be kidding me!â You groaned, throwing your hands in the air. âYou know I canât work with him.â You pointed an accusing finger at Hyunjin as if he had personally offended you. Which he didnât. Or at least, Hyunjin wasnât aware.
âIâm not leaving you a choice, Y/N. Not this time.â Namjoon didnât budge, his mind set. âMoreover, thereâs no way you can succeed without his help.â
Hyunjin observed you in silence, his mind still trying to come to terms with the idea of working with you. He didnât dislike the idea as much as you did, for obvious reasons. It was his chance to find out more about you, to solve a mystery he was so curious about. But it was obvious you didnât share the sentiment; you were gritting your teeth, ready to snap.
âIs it a challenge?â You tried, hoping to avoid to work with Hyunjin.
Namjoon leaned on his elbows and looked straight into your eyes. âYou can scream and kick all you want; Iâm not changing my mind.â Then, he averted his gaze on Hyunjin. âI promise, sheâll come around.â
Hyunjin wasnât so sure and you proved him right by mumbling a âlike hell I willâ. This was going to be an interesting experience.
âWhatâs the case?â Hyunjin asked, ignoring the thick tension in the room. He fought the urge to glance at you and instead gave his full attention to Namjoon.
âThe two of you are going to fly to Hong Kong. I got you an invitation to a gallery opening party. You must attend it as a newly married.â Hyunjin blinked in confusion. When he was called into Namjoonâs office, he did not expect this turn of events.
âWhat do you know about Park Minjun?â Namjoon asked and eyed the two of you, his eyes lingering a little longer on you.
Hyunjin had a feeling he had heard the name before but couldnât pinpoint from where. You, on the other hand, knew. You straightened up on your chair, all business. âHeâs the CEO of PM Security. Worth billions if I remember correctly.â
Namjoon nodded. âWe got a tip. Apparently heâs been selling weapons to dangerous people. Another deal is about to happen. I need you to find out whatâs the deal about and find the names.â Namjoon finished, then with one final look at the two of you. âAny questions?â
âYeah, â You started and, without even looking at you, Hyunjin felt your murderous aura. âCan I punch you for this brilliant idea?â
Yeah. Itâs gonna work out just fine.
***
You were still fuming at the idea of working with Hyunjin as the two of you stepped out of Namjoonâs office. Just because you couldnât actually punch Namjoon as you desperately wished, you slammed the door behind you to make your point.
âAsshole.â You cursed under your breath, forgetting for a second that you were not alone in the hall and Hyunjin was still observing you. But for safety reason, he put some space between the two of you. He could tell you were craving violence and someone to blame for the outcome. He wasnât particularly in the mood to get into a fight with his supposed partner for the next case.
Hyunjin watched you with crossed arms over his chest as you took a deep breath, clenching and unclenching your fists in hope to cool down. Impressive temper indeed. He wasnât a violent person and wasnât really attracted to violence but as he stared at you, from head to toe, he couldnât deny that it suited you. Youâre in deep shit, Hyunjin.
He thought about the mission, thought about pretending to be a couple and playing his part. Could he really play pretend? He did it a few times, of course. But with you? He wasnât sure he would come out unscathed.
âWe can make it work.â Hyunjin tried to convince you. Or maybe he was trying to convince himself with those words.
It didnât convince you. You snapped your head towards him and assessed him. You knew who he was, not only because you had memorized every faces and names of people working here, but also because Jisung couldnât shut up about him and about how amazing he was. He was a handsome man, that you could admit, as for being amazing, you werenât convinced. The men working for Namjoon tended to be all the same; some with pretty faces and arrogant attitude. Not your cup of tea. And yet, even if it pained you to admit, Hyunjin looked different from them. Just by the way he was watching you, you could tell he wasnât underestimating you just because you were a woman. No, he was also assessing you and wondering how it could work.
âIt canât be that bad.â He tried again, sounding a little bit more enthusiastic.
You finally moved from your spot and slowly approached him, watching him like a predator that you were. Hyunjin tensed. You grabbed him by his tie and pulled him closer to you. âYou better watch out, Hwang or I might kill you in your sleep and make it look like an accident.â
Such a lovely creature, working with you surely would be fun.
***
Jisung was laughing so hard at the news, he fell from his chair. It didnât stop him from laughing, quite the opposite. He held his stomach, unable to calm down. He had expected Namjoon to give Hyunjin shit for not having any break in his case. But it was so much better. Oh how he wished he could have witnessed the whole mess. Knowing you, Jisung had no problem imagining how delighted you were with the mission.
âAre you done?â Hyunjin groaned, palming his face.
It had been two hours since he found out about the mission. Two hours since your threat. Two hours since he couldnât shake off the image of you pulling at his tie, threatening him so close to his lips. Yes, he wanted to find out more about you. Yes, he wanted to get close to you. But maybe he got more than he bargained for.
âOh hell man, Iâm having a blast.â Jisung cackled and wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. âYou and Y/N? Working together? Pretending to be married?â Just from saying it again, he laughed and Hyunjin couldnât stop himself; he kicked his shin. âOuch!â
âYou deserved it.â Hyunjin responded unapologetic.
âCan you blame me? You two are so different. I donât know how Namjoon came up with this idea.â He shook his head, chuckling to himself. âI know youâre going to try and make it work but Y/NâŚâ
Hyunjin could only hope that your wish to succeed would be stronger than your aversion to working with him.
âSheâs going to eat you alive.â
***
Hyunjin didnât get even have a wink of sleep last night. Not this close to the departure for the mission. One week was what Namjoon gave the two of you to get your shit together and prepare.
Easy to say.
Hyunjin tried to reach out to you in hope to talk and prepare your story in case you had to share it with people, especially about your marriage. You ignored all his attempts. He had tried. He tried to talk to you, to get to you through Jisung, tried to corner you. And failed. You were slowly driving him nuts and even his optimism was slowly fading.
He was waiting for you at the airport, nervous. After ignoring him for a week, you finally texted him last night, giving the time and spot to meet at the airport. A message that frustrated him to no end.
He checked his watch and frowned. You were running late. Maybe the traffic or maybe you were toying with him. Probably the latter. But then, as he raised his head, he saw you. He spotted you among the parting crowd, walking confidently and looking too good to be real. You wore white jeans, a black tank top with a leather jacket. Your hairs were tied up in a messy bun with few strands framing your flawless face.
Hyunjin forgot how to breath as you drew nearer.
âHello, Hwang.â You smiled wickedly, your smile promising torture.
âYouâre late.â Hyunjin wanted to slap himself. He wasnât planning to pick a fight with you, but somehow his brain refused to cooperate.
You arched a brow, amused. âAm I?â And took another step towards him. âOr were you just too eager to see me?â
Yes, you were definitely toying with him. He refused to play your game and instead he kept his face as neutral as possible. âYou know Iâm not happy about this mission either.â What a big liar he was.
âSure about that?â You asked, unfazed with his attempt. âBecause a little birdie told me you were delighted to find out we were paired for the mission.â
Hyunjin gawked at you, not believing his ears. âWhat? Who?â
Hyunjin knew way before you answered, who was behind those words but he needed to hear it.
âYour favorite hacker.â
Little shit. Han Jisung was a dead man. If he survives first.
You laughed at his pained face. Not a mocking laugh but a genuine one that made him blink and stare blankly at you. Hyunjin realized that he had never heard you laugh before and it was a nice melody to his ears. Playful, cheerful, warm.
âCome on, hubby.â You looped your arm through his, âLetâs do this.â
***
Surprisingly enough, the flight to Hong Kong was eventless.
Except for the part where you didnât shut him out like he thought you would. No, after a whole week of trying to talk to you and plan, it was during the flight that you chose to talk. You took him completely off guard by admitting that he was right and you needed a story in case someone ask. The two of you established that you had been married for three months and had been together for two years.Â
Hyunjin was bewildered how easy it was to talk to you when you werenât threatening to kill him in his sleep. The moment you got your mind set on the mission, your feelings and opinions didnât matter. The only thing that mattered was to succeed and if for that you had to deal with him, you would do your best.
A very nice surprise.
Namjoon had thought about every little details that even Hyunjin hadnât thought about. For instance, not even for a second Hyunjin had imagined that the two of you would have to share a room. It made sense, in a way, but it still shocked him. He was not ready for it.Â
Hyunjin glanced at you, palms sweaty. He thought you would start a riot and curse Namjoon and his whole family. You did none of that. In fact, you looked completely relaxed. You pushed your suitcase toward the middle of the room and then stopped to observe the place. The room was big, huge windows that led to a small private balcony. A king size bed covered with petals of red roses and a couch that looked rather uncomfortable. Â
You scoffed at the flowers, finding this little detail ridiculous. And so did Hyunjin. âHe didnât need to go to this extent.â But you didnât seem surprised too which made him wonder how many times Namjoon had arranged things for you.Â
Hyunjin followed you with his own suitcase. If there was only one bed and one couch, he would choose the couch, even if it didnât look comfortable. He didnât think you would accept to share a bed and he wasnât sure he could sleep beside you at all. Not that he was scared for his life but sleeping with his crush did make him nervous.Â
âDibs on the right side of the bed.â You interrupted his trail of thoughts and threw yourself on your side of bed. You propped yourself up on your elbows and watched Hyunjin with a smirk.Â
Hyunjin gasped loudly and looked at you as if you had grown a second head. âWait what?âÂ
You watched him from the bed, looking too smug for his liking. âWhat? Were you about to offer to sleep on the couch?âÂ
Hyunjin wondered if he was that predictable or if you were just that good at reading people. For a second, he considered lying to avoid embarrassment but one look at you and he knew it was pointless. He shrugged. âYes.âÂ
âDonât bother. I donât care.âÂ
âSure about that?âÂ
âUnless youâre a hugger, no, I donât care.â
***
While you were taking a long, deserved shower, Hyunjin went through the few information Namjoon gave you about Park Minjun. Nothing really impressive; his family, about his wife, his kids, about his involvement with many powerful men in the society. Nothing really indicated that he had any involvement with the underground world. But then again, Hyunjin guessed that it wouldnât be something obvious and they had to dig deeper.
Hyunjin threw his head back against the headboard and closed his eyes for a moment. The party, the CEO, pretend to be a married, happy man, you. It kept replaying in his mind. There were few hours left before the party and he couldnât stop wondering how it would work out. How should they get close to the man and gather the needed proofs?
Before Hyunjin could delve more on the matter, you came out of the shower with just a towel wrapped around your body, water still dripping from your hair. Hyunjin opened his eyes only to gulp nervously at the sight of you. No make-up, amazing, toned body â he was both in hell and heaven. His pants grew tighter.
Instead of hiding from his intense gaze, you stopped by the bed, staring back. âNeed a moment, Hwang?â
Yes. He cleared his throat and tried not to look at your legs. He knew, he shouldnât be staring so much, but you looked just so flawless, he couldnât tear his eyes from you.
âStill staring, darling.â You teased
Hyunjin squirmed under your amused stare. âIâm-â sorry he wanted to say. But you didnât want to hear his apology. No. Instead, you winked at him and then turned your back, letting him admire the view. You knew you looked good. You dropped your towel on the floor.
Hyunjin shrieked and quickly covered his eyes with his hands. You were toying with him, enjoying your moment judging by your sweet laugh.
âCute.â He heard you whisper.
For a second, he peaked through his fingers, hoping you put some clothes on. But no. Still perfectly naked and with a glorious ass.
Shit.
âYouâre enjoying this.â Hyunjin complained through gritted teeth.
You hummed, not disagreeing. You drew closer to the bed, enjoying how tensed Hyunjin got. How he desperately was trying to hide his eyes with his hands. Sadly for him, his body betrayed him. You smiled sweetly at him. âJust as much as youâre enjoying the view.â And you pointed at his pants, cackling at his pained face.
I need a shower. And a cold one.
***
Unsurprisingly, Hyunjin was ready for the party way before you. Instead of waiting for you in the room, he chose to wait in the main hall of the hotel, taking a moment to compose himself and repeat the made-up story in his head. Everything to distract him from the thought of you, naked with water dripping from your hair. He tried to shake off the image, but his mind refused to cooperate and replayed the moment over and over again like a broken record. This was torture and there was nothing he could do to escape.
âThere you are, darling.â Your sweet voice echoed from behind him.
Hyunjin, very slowly, turned to face you. He sucked in his breath, taking in the sight of you. Obviously and objectively speaking, he knew you were a gorgeous woman, but tonight you had outdone yourself. The red silky dress hugged all your curves perfectly, the deep split on the left side exposed your thigh. Everything was flawless; from your dress to your hair, to your makeup â he was bewitched.
Hyunjin stared and stared, his eyes shining brightly. âYou look dashing.â
You flipped your hair to make a point. âI know.â
He laughed and shook his head in fondness. Of course, you would say something like that. But then, your lips stretched into a big, genuine smile. âYou look good too, hubby.â You stepped closer to him and grabbed his hand. âLetâs do it.â
***
The venue was huge and smelled of money. Impressive paintings, tables spread all around the place with food and drinks. Waiter and waitress walking around with drinks, trying not to disturb the important people. Everything was shining and glittering. A place, Hyunjin didnât feel like he belonged to. Celebrities, politicians, the whole society had gathered at the same place. He wasnât used to it, and he felt out of place.
You noticed it too. You nudged him playfully with your hips, grabbed his hand and squeeze it lightly. âRelax. Pretend you have loads of money and you will be just fine.â
Hyunjin glanced at you. It amazed him how natural you were. Nothing surprised you, nothing impressed you. No, you looked at the crowd, unimpressed, assessing them in silence. He bet, slowly a plan was forming in your mind. You grabbed two glasses of champagne from the closest waiter, thanking him with a smile before giving one glass to Hyunjin.
âLook,â you pointed at a person talking vividly with a man. âPark Minjun is already here. The man heâs talking to? Heâs in charge of research for the army. Heard the army is developing a new weapon.â
Impressive. Hyunjin eyed the man; he looked to him like any other middle aged man in this room. Rich, wearing an expensive suit, arrogant, trying to make any more alliances.
âHow do you know all that?â Hyunjin asked, admiring your knowledge.
You shrugged, your eyes still on the CEO. âIâve been spying on them for so long. It helps.â
âDo you think Park Minjun is interested in what the army is developing?â
âWho knows.â
Hyunjin was tempted to ask more, to see what else you were hiding from him. He did none of that as he noticed some men staring at you. He recognized the look in their eyes: lust. He couldnât blame them for lusting after his fake wife, you looked gorgeous and your dress was attracting attention. His body, as if having a mind of its own, moved; he put a hand on your hip, marking his territory. They could stare all they wanted, you were his for at least the upcoming days.
You didnât shy away from his touch, quite the opposite. You leaned into his touch, feeling completely comfortable with his presence and his touch.
âWell, whatâs a lovely surprise.â A man around Hyunjinâs age, or maybe a little older now that he looked at him, interrupted the two of you. He smiled widely, his eyes on you and then slowly his gaze slid to Hyunjin.
Hyunjin had to admit, the man before him was probably the only decent one in the place. Or at least, the vibe around him made Hyunjin believe that. He was terribly handsome and looked just as rich as any other person in this gallery and yet, where others looked arrogant and judgy, he looked genuinely friendly and apparently delighted to see you.
And yet, your whole body tensed at his presence. You leaned even closer to Hyunjin as if he could protect you from the man or help you to disappear. It made Hyunjin only curious. Where was the confident woman? The one ready to snap some necks and kick some asses? Odd. Â
âHello Chris.â You finally found your voice and straightened your back, a sly smile on your face.
There she is.
If Chris noticed your uneasiness, he made no comment. Instead, he grabbed your hand and pulled it to his lips, kissing your knuckles, eyes on you. âIt has been a while.â
âIâm a busy woman.â You chuckled.
âDonât I know that.â
Hyunjin knew he wasnât supposed to feel possessive over you but he couldnât ignore the little, angry voice inside his head, telling him to yank you from this Chrisâs hold. Fake husband or not, he wanted to keep you for himself while he could.
âThis is Hyunjin, my husband.â You finished.
And just like that he relaxed. Â He eyed you discretely, feeling proud, even if it was fake.
Chris arched a brow at the presentation. âOh? Since when?â He eyed Hyunjin, assessing him. Despite his intense staring, Hyunjin kept his composure and stared back with as much intensity and still wondering who the hell this man was.
âIâm offended I wasnât invited to the wedding. Or did my invitation got lost?â
You laughed heartily at his pained expression. âDonât be sad. It was a small wedding.â
Chris put his hand over his heart feigning pain; you only slapped his arm playfully, leaving Hyunjinâs warmth for a moment.
âFine, fine.â Chris conceded. âKnowing you, I expected a big fancy venue with at least hundred people.â
You only glanced at Hyunjin, your eyes softening at the sight of his face. Hyunjin almost dropped his glass, completely taken off guard with how sincere, how convincing you looked. He could read love on your face when he knew there was none. Â
âI had everything I needed.â You said softly.
Chris gasped. âWho are you and what did you do to my snarky, little Y/N?â
You took a sip of your champagne and looked at him. âDonât worry, sheâs still here.â You leaned closer to him, your smile turning from gentle to wicked. âReady to bite your head off for last time.â
Chris raised his hands in defeat and took a step back for good measure. Whoever he was to you, he knew about your character and tendencies. Hyunjin watched your interaction with even more curiosity.
âI apologized at least three times already. You canât hold a grudge for so long, can you?â Chris complained.
You eyed him with a knowing look on your face, a silent message passing between you and him. âFine, I forgive you. For good this time.â
âThank you, love.â He joked, âCall me. I think we have a lot to talk about.â
Chris left the two of you and yet you kept your eyes on his back as he began talking with a group of people.
âWho was that?â Hyunjin finally asked.
âA friend.â You simply said without elaborating.
Hyunjin wanted to know more but from the corner of his eyes he saw the CEO moving. âHeâs moving. Letâs go?â
***
The two of you followed Park Minjun and three other men as discretely as you could manage. If the CEO seemed completely oblivious of his surrounding, the two men seemed more anxious; they kept glancing behind them, almost as if they were expecting someone to follow them or maybe even feared that they would get ambushed. Hyunjin supposed, in a way, they were right to be so wary since the two of you were indeed spying on them.
The noise from the main hall of the gallery was getting scarce until Hyunjin heard nothing except for their light steps.
âI think Namjoon was right. Minjun is involved with some questionable people.â You whispered as you watched the men get inside a room, closing the door behind them and locking it for good measure. âI recognize two of men with him. The third must be his bodyguard.â
Hyunjin looked at you with raised brows, surprised once more how it seemed you knew everything and everybody. He wondered again; what kind of missions Namjoon entrusted you with. âWho are they?â
Without looking at him, you neared the door. âThey belong to the crows.â
Hyunjinâs whole body froze at the name. He had heard about them. The name had popped in many cases, but they never could find anything to dismantle the gang and arrest the leaders. It was frustrating how they always seemed to be few steps ahead of them.
âWhat are we doing now?â Hyunjin asked.
You looked at him, a wicked smile plastered on your face. âWe eavesdrop of course!â You didnât hesitate; body pressed against the closed door you strained your ears to hear their conversation.
Hyunjin followed your lead. He stood close to you, his arm brushing yours. A good agent would keep his mind clear and concentrate on the mission. Hyunjin was not a good agent. He couldnât help but notice how smooth your skin was. Your sweet scent. And the smile that never left your lips. Get a grip, Hyunjin!
âI expected your boss to show up.â Minjunâs rough voice could be heard from behind the door. He sounded displeased and annoyed.
âIâm his right hand and tonight I represent the crows.â The other man didnât sound fazed with Minjunâs annoyance and yet Hyunjin could detect a hint of threat in his voice. âIâm sure itâs acceptable to you. Or maybe you should find another willing party. After all, weâre not the one in need, are we?â Now he was taunting the man.
You glanced at Hyunjin, exchanging a knowing look. Just few words but enough to prove that they didnât come here for nothing. Few words to incriminate the man.
Minjun grumbled, displeased with the manâs attitude. âFine. Where is it?â
Whatever the âitâ was, you couldnât hear the rest of it. Steps echoed in the hall, alerting the two of you that you were no longer safe and had little time to no time at all to hide. Hyunjinâs heart leapt in his throat as he tried to find a solution, a way out. But you. You didnât panic, you barely looked at him. Instead, you straightened your back and slid your hand under your dress and took a knife out.
âWhat the hell.â Hyunjin muttered to himself, eyes bulging at the sight of the knife. âWeâre not fighting.â
You scoffed and stepped before him, ignoring his remark. Hyunjin wasnât a fighter, but you were and right now you were itching to fight the intruder.
At the sound of steps growing louder, closer; his body moved on its own accord. He pushed you against the closest wall, trapping you with his body. He cupped the side of your face, his thumb rubbing a spot on your cheek.
Your sweet scent hit him like a truck. All he wanted in the first place was just to pretend, to make it look like the two of you were making out in the hall, to make the intruder feel out of place. But your fucking addicting scent drove him absolutely crazy. His eyes kept darting back and forth between your eyes, another kind of fire glowing in them, and your plump, red lips that were slightly parted in surprise. God, how much he wanted to kiss you. To smear your perfect lipstick.
Pretend. Mission. Fake. Â He repeated those words in his head, trying to persuade himself that this was more than enough.
It wasnât.
âDo it, hubby.â You encouraged him after seeing him struggle to keep his control.
And Hyunjin did. His mouth crashed against yours. The kiss was bruising, needy, he had absolutely no control over his body, over his mouth. He wanted to taste every inch of you, to memorize how good you felt against him, how nice your lips felt against his.
His grip on your face tightened as you parted your pretty lips, inviting him in. You wrapped your arms tightly around his neck, pushing his face even closer to you.
Hyunjinâs free hand slid slowly from your chest, to your stomach, to your left, exposed, thigh. He grabbed your leg with strength and wrap it around him, giving him more access to your body, to feel more of you. To let you feel just how affected he was. How hard he was with just one kiss. You moaned into the kiss as his fingers dug into your skin.
So. Damn. Addicting. Hyunjin forgot all about their problem, all about the steps that grew only louder. He heard nothing. Saw nothing. There was only you and your gentle moans, urging him to ravish you right on the spot.
âHey!â A loud, croaky voice interrupted them. âWhat the hell are you doing here? Youâre not allowed in there!â
Hyunjinâs deep growl made your grip on him only tighten. You didnât care about the intruder, but you cared about those stupidly addictive lips.
âWhat the-â The man halted not far from you.
Hyunjin, unwillingly, slowly dropped your leg and parted from you. He wiped the corner of his lips and winked playfully at you before facing the man. âSorry. I wanted a moment with my wife. Sheâs just so beautiful, I canât have enough. Can you blame me?â
The man contemplated the idea of telling Hyunjin once more that you werenât supposed to be there but one look at you and your disheveled self and swollen lips â he hesitated.
He ruffled his hair in frustration. âJust leave.â
***
âWhat do you think is his business with the crows?â Hyunjin asked as you stepped inside your room.
âNo clue. Theyâre dangerous and powerful. It canât be good.â You commented.
Barely inside and you were already undressing, with still no consideration for Hyunjin. He froze right on the spot as he watched you unzip your dress and let it pool at your feet, leaving you in nothing but your high heels and panties. He gulped, unable to avert his eyes even if a little voice was screaming at him not to look. He couldnât. Not when you looked absolutely breath taking with your smooth skin, legs to die for and your long hair falling over your exposed breasts.
Another time, Hyunjin would have managed to keep his head cool and look away. Now? Now he knew how your lips tasted and how your skin felt under his touch. He couldnât think straight.
âYou canât keep doing that.â Hyunjin managed to complain, his trousers grew tighter.
âDoing what?â You batted your eyelashes, trying to look innocent but your proud smile betrayed your intentions.
âThat!â He pointed at your body. âIâm a man and Iâm trying to be respectful.â
âI see that. Youâre staring. Respectfully.â You laughed and slowly approached him, your smile turning into a smirk, knowing you were playing with fire and testing his patience.
Hyunjin should have known from the beginning that you were a menace. Jisung was right, you would eat him alive and he would say thank you.
âMust be hard watching and not being able to touch.â You cooed at him and poked his chest.
âYouâre a terrible human being.â He complained without meaning his words.
âAm I?â
Hyunjin closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Bad idea. Your sweet scent hit his nose, making him slowly lose his self-control. He couldnât think about anything else, only you and your body too close to his. All he needed to do was take the last step towards you, grab your neck and kiss you.
Think about the mission, Hyunjin. You canât do that. But did he listen to the little voice? Hell no.
âPlay with me, hubby.â You whispered, pushing his last limit.
Hyunjin snapped.
Or more like his self-control snapped. He grabbed the back of your neck and claimed your mouth. He devoured your mouth, showing you no mercy. He bit on your lips and pulled your hair, angling your head to deepen the kiss.
âYouâre driving me nuts.â He groaned against your lips. âAnd I do not appreciate that.â He gave your hair a harsher tug, exposing the tender flesh of your neck. A perfect canvas for him. His lips slid from your mouth to your jaw, to your neck, leaving pretty marks on his way, claiming you just the way he wanted.
âIâm glad.â You moaned as your hands found their way to his head, pushing him closer to you, wanting to feel more of him. âIt wonât be fun otherwise.â
Hyunjin bit on your collarbone in response. He wanted to make you pay for testing his patience, for making him yield so easily. He wanted to hear you plead for more, to hear your scream his name and ask for more. It was his mission for the night and he refused to stop. He scooped you in his arms, taking you off guard â you yelped in surprise. He carried you to the bed and dropped you on the mattress.
The sight before him was his personal hell. Your pretty lips swollen, your hair spread around you, your nipples hard and begging for attention. A goddess waiting for someone to worship her and he was more than willing. But slowly. Despite his own needs and wish to jump on you, he took his time to memorize your body; every little scar, and you had many of them, every mole.
âTake a picture, it lasts longer.â You teased, resting on your elbows as you watched him, biting your lips.
Hyunjin chuckled at your attempt at provoking him. He unbuttoned his shirt, button by button, watching as your eyes followed his every move, watching as you licked your lips at the sight of his bare skin.
âMight do it later.â He admitted. After all, he wouldnât mind to immortalize the moment.
Hyunjin threw his shirt somewhere on the floor before his hands found their way to your ankles. Gently, he stroked your ankles that were probably tired after a long night wearing heels. Without a warning, he pulled you to the edge of the bed, closer to him, a wicked smile on his face.
Slowly and without breaking the eye-contact, he dropped to his knees. He grabbed your panties and tugged down, exposing your pretty and already wet pussy. Whenever you had planned to get him on his knees or not, you were ready for him and he had to admit he enjoyed the sight before him.
âTell me what you want, Y/N.â Hyunjin asked. His soft lips leaving a trail of kisses across your thigh, setting your skin on fire.
âDonât be a tease.â You ordered and nudged him with your knee but Hyunjin was having none of that.
âCome on. Tell me. Is it my tongue you want?â And to make his point he licked your skin, from your knee to your thigh, getting dangerously close to the place you really wanted him. âOr is it my fingers?â Still teasing, he barely brushed his fingers against your pussy, making you hiss in frustration.
âIâm going to fucking kill you.â You threatened him, refusing to give him the power over you.
Hyunjin only laughed against your skin and bit your thigh playfully, your threat doing nothing except turning him on.
âCome on, Y/N. itâs not that hard.â
Your ego demanded that you kept your mouth shut, but your body was on fire and on edge and growing impatient. You needed him to touch you.
Your body won the war. âPlease, Hyunjin. I really, really need you.â You begged as prettily as you could.
And how could he refuse when asked so nicely? Hyunjin delved in, eagerly, letting the taste of you consume him. There was no stopping, not when you sweet taste invaded all his senses and turned him into an addict.
âFuck.â You cried out and arched your back.
Hyunjin devoured you, licking, sucking, knowing exactly what you needed. It was as if he already knew how your body worked, what made you curl your toes, what brought out your sweet cries.
One particular strong suck had you reach out for his head, tugging at his locks. You werenât sure whether you wanted to bring him closer to your pussy or put some space â it didnât stop him. Hyunjinâs gaze met yours, eyes shining with mischief.
He kept his mouth on you and slid two fingers inside you, stretching you. Your every little cries made him suck only harder, pump his fingers faster until you were nothing but a mess, writhing and begging to come.
And you came hard in a silent scream, body trembling.
If you thought, Hyunjin would give you a minute to recover, you were wrong. He flipped you on your stomach, his hands slid from your shoulders, to your back, to your ass. Such a nice and beautiful ass. Hyunjin couldnât stop himself from giving it a strong slap.
He hurried to unzip his pants, the urge to sink inside you getting unbearable. He nudged your pussy with his cock and you pushed back, whimpering, needing to feel him inside. Hyunjin, despite his own needs, still had some control left. Seeing you so wet, so desperate and lost to your own pleasure because of him pleased him.
âHwang, I swear to god-â You started but all words died on your tongue the moment Hyunjin buried himself deep inside you with one strong push. âFuck!â You cried out.
The pain, the stretch, followed by pure bliss made you grab the sheets, holding for your dear life. You expected Hyunjin to take his sweet time, to make his thrusts slow and controlled.
You were wrong.
Maybe it was because of your pleas, maybe because of how nice and perfect your walls felt around him. Or maybe the little control left had finally snapped. He set a brutal rhythm. His grip on your hips strong, almost painful and that would leave, without a single doubt, marks. And you didnât care.
âSo. Damn. Perfect.â Hyunjin managed to say in between strong, deep thrusts.
Hyunjin leaned over you, slowing his thrusts for a moment, only to fist your hair and yank your head back. His warm breath caressed your neck. âThis is payback for all the teasing, Y/N.â His voice sounded rough and ominous.
It should have been a warning and you would have given a damn any other time. But Hyunjin was good. Felt too good. Your mind was blank. You could barely remember your own name.
As Hyunjin forced you to arch against him, his fucking increased, reaching deeper, making you see stars. Mouth opened, tears in the corner of your eyes, there was no stopping. With one particularly strong push, he tipped you over the edge. Your orgasm tore through you, violent, powerful, toe-curling. For a second you couldnât see, couldnât hear. And Hyunjin kept going, seeking his own release.
Fingers digging into your skin, Hyunjin came with a loud groan, spilling himself inside you.
With his release came a realization. Iâm fucked.
***
Hyunjin woke up with a feeling that something was off. He looked for his phone on the bedside table, only to see that it was three in the morning. He yawned and rolled on the other side, wanting to get closer to you and to your warmth. Only to find your side of the bed empty and cold. He straightened up on the bed, staring blankly at the empty spot. Slowly, he touched it, confirming that his mind hadnât imagined it being cold. No, you had left the bed and apparently the room a long time ago.
Hyunjin didnât know how he felt about it. Should he worry? Did you need space after what happened between the two of you? Or worse, did you regret it? Hyunjin refused to imagine the worst scenario, but he struggled. He considered, for a short moment, to get out of bed and start looking for you. What if something bad happened?
He heard the bip from the door and quickly lay down on the bed. He squinted, forcing his eyes to adapt to the darkness.Â
You walked inside the room on your tiptoes, trying not to make any noise, trying not to wake Hyunjin up. Too late for that, but he did his best pretending to be asleep. Hyunjin hoped you couldnât see how he was peeking at you or how fast his breathing got.
You paid no attention to him as you got closer to the bed. You untied your hair and ruffled them in frustration. Whatever you were doing at this hour of the night, you didnât look too happy about it. Slowly you took off your leather jacket and threw it on the chair and then, and it made Hyunjin fight a gasp, you pulled out your gun.
Where the hell were you? What were you doing? He wished he could just ask you these questions, but he wasnât sure you would take it well. Not yet at least.
Hyunjin tried to calm his heart, to steady his breathing; you got closer to the bed and watched his sleeping form.
âSuch a pretty boy.â You hummed, face relaxing at his sight. You gently brushed some strands of hair from his face and Hyunjin fought a shiver.
***
He woke up a second time but much later. He expected to see you sleeping beside him, after all, werenât you supposed to be tired after going out in the middle of the night? Yet, he found once more your side of the bed empty. He groaned and quickly crawled out of bed. He had questions and for that he needed to find you.
Turns out, finding you wasnât as hard as he expected. Maybe for a moment, he had forgotten that you were also human and needed to eat. Hyunjin found you at the restaurant, dressed in a pretty white dress that gave you an almost innocent look which unsettled him. But not only that; you were talking vividly, laughing and smiling with Park Minjun.
Hyunjin paused, staring blankly at you and the man. It amazed him how easily you talked with the man, how genuinely interested you looked. If he didnât know about the mission, he would have believed you were long lost friends. It impressed him how easily you adapted to different situations, different people, letting them see and hear what they needed, what they wanted.
When you spotted Hyunjin, your whole face lit up. Hyunjin gulped, not liking how his heart reacted, not liking how your smile cheered his soul. He couldnât stop his mind from replaying the images of your kisses, of your touches, of your smooth skin against his, of your lovely voice. He didnât regret his choice, but he was also aware that he was in deep shit.
Hyunjin took a deep breath and started walking toward your table, confident. A small smile crept across his face as your own widened.
âOh, babe!â You called for him, pretending so well to be completely smitten with your husband. You welcomed him with a sweet smile and a kiss on his cheek (he swore his heart missed a beat). âSorry, I was too hungry and you looked so sweet. I didnât want to wake you up.â
Voice sweet like honey, Hyunjin found himself at the loss of words. There was no way you left him without a word just because he looked sweet, but you were so damn convincing. He shook his head before chuckling. Two could play this game. He took a strand of your hair, curled it around his finger before bringing it to his lips. You sucked in a breath, your eyes locked on him.
âItâs fine.â Hyunjin leaned and pressed his lips against yours. As much as he wanted the moment to last, he couldnât ignore any longer the manâs presence. âHello, sir.â
The CEO eyed him from head to toe, nodded as if he liked what he saw. If only he knew. âYou must be Hyunjin.â
Hyunjin pulled the chair and sat beside you. âThe one and only.â He smiled at the man while his hand slipped to your thigh and rested there comfortably, loving the warmth of your skin under the palm of his hand.
Park Minjun smiled as he brought his cup to his mouth. âYou have a fabulous wife. So passionate.â
Hyunjin looked at you, eyes softening. âI know. Iâm a lucky man.â
Slowly, he rubbed circles on your thigh and you had to fight back a shiver. You could have stopped him, quite easily, but his touch was too addictive.
Minjun cleared his throat. âY/N, it was lovely meeting you. But I believe I should leave the two of you alone. Enjoy your stay.â
The moment he was out of sight, you dropped your act. A long and tired sigh escaped your lips and you sank further into your seat. And yet, you still didnât try to pry his hand off your thigh.
âLearnt anything?â Hyunjin asked, resting his head in the palm of his free hand.
âNothing important. I thought charming him would serve me. Maybe not now, but later.â
Hyunjin hummed. You were right, it could be useful. âHe looked charmed.â
You chuckled and poked his side playfully. âWhy? Are you jealous, Hwang?â
Hyunjin could have stopped the little game, could have dropped his own act â he didnât. He leaned closer, looking at you with a smirk. âWhy should I be? I was the one making you scream my name. Not this old man.â
You gasped and feigned outrage. âMy, my. Scandalous.â
âI know.â
âNow, that being said,â Your smile turned wicked. âI put a tracker on him.â
***
Jisung took his sweet time to answer the phone. It almost comforted Hyunjin to know that even with you, he acted this way. Except for the fact that you werenât as patient as him. You groaned and threw your arms in the air, growing annoyed with every attempt at reaching for your friend.
âHello my lovely, favorite couple ever!â Jisungâs cheerfulness brought a tiny smile to Hyunjinâs face, until he remembered that he wanted and needed to kick his ass. âHowâs your honeymoon?â
âA lot of fucking. Something you canât relate to because youâre forever bitchless.â You didnât hesitate to humble him.
Hyunjin tried to stifle his laugh, only for you to glance at him with a frown, silently warning him.
Jisung gasped through the phone, offended. âRude.â And for good measure, added, âBitch.â
âTell me something I donât know.â
âWell,â Jisung began, âI know for sure that there is no way you fucked Hyunjin.â Jisung sounded so confident and yet none of you tried to correct him.
Hyunjin glanced at you but you ignored him, staring at your phone instead and looking tired. Finally, the consequences of your late night activities were showing. You needed to rest but something told him that a comment from him would earn him an even deeper frown.
At the silence, Jisung squealed. âRight?â
âI put a tracker on Minjun. I need you to tell me what heâs doing.â You said instead, refusing to satisfy his curiosity.
Hyunjin heard Jisung tapping on his computer, guessing he was already on it.
âIâm not done with you.â He warned the two of you. âHeâs coming back home.â
Only then, you finally looked at Hyunjin, nodding. âThen so do we.â
***
Namjoon was in a bad mood. Hyunjin guessed it the moment he stepped inside his office. He kept tugging at his hair and muttering under his nose. Whatever was bothering him, meant probably no good to him too.
Hyunjin had been back for only few days which left him little time to check on his other cases, make a report about Park Minjun, meet with Jisung to know about the manâs whereabouts.
And you. You simply vanished. He should have known it would happen. He should have guessed that whatever happened between the two of you during your mission would end the moment you stepped out of the plane. It still left a bitter taste.
âI read you report.â Namjoon finally said.
âDid Y/N make her own report too?â Hyunjin wondered.
Namjoon quirked a brow at him. âShe did.â He sighed. âThe crows are bad news. I hoped you would be able to gather more information.â
âY/N made contact with Park Minjun.. Maybe if we meet him again, she could gather more.â
Speaking of the devil, you barged into the office as if you owned the place. Namjoon barely reacted at your rudeness, obviously too used to your behavior. You dropped on the chair beside Hyunjin, refusing to acknowledge his presence which pissed him off more than he was willing to admit to himself.
âWeapons.â You announced, âYour tip was right. Minjun does sell weapons to dangerous people and now heâs going to sell them to the crows which sucks. Theyâre already powerful enough.â
Hyunjin almost jumped out of his seat and grabbed you to question you. He held back. Barely. âHow did you find out?â
Instead of looking at him, you checked your nails, looking disinterested if not bored. âI donât think you want to know.â
Hyunjin took a deep breath, counting till ten to calm himself down. If there was one thing, he disliked about you it was how easily you switched from being nice to the bitchy-old-self. It made him wonder if the side you showed him was real.
âWhat did you do?â Namjoon asked instead, sensing the tension in the room.
You sighed and slid your gaze to him. âLetâs just say that some men are eager to talk in promise of a blowjob.â
Hyunjin winced, unable to stop himself.
Namjoon nodded, unfazed with your explanation. âWe need tangible proof. Iâm counting on the two of you.â
Great. Just great.
***
Despite Namjoonâs words, Hyunjin doubted you would agree to partner with him. It was one thing when it was expected of you to pretend and be seen, but looking for information was different. You obviously had your ways and Hyunjin would be a nuisance.
Before you could leave him, Hyunjin grabbed your wrist and forced you to stop and look at him. There was so many things he wished to say but one look at you and only one question remained in his brain.
âYou didnât really give him a blowjob in exchange for information, did you?â He asked, his voice rough.
You scoffed at his question and pulled away from his grasp. âWhy? Jealous?â
âY/N.â
You pushed him away from you by poking his chest angrily. âI have my ways to get the job done, Hwang. Just because we fucked, doesnât mean I owe you shit.â
Of course, you would go back to being the cold, unpredictable and distant self. He wanted to yell at you, to shake you and remind you that you didnât always have to work alone, that you could rely on him.
âNamjoon needs proof.â You added, âIâm going to give him that.â
âAnd Iâm going to help you.â Hyunjin insisted.
âNo fucking way.
You had been staring at your computerâs screen for the past twenty minutes as if the solution to your problems would magically pop up on the screen. Obviously, it didnât which turned your mood even sourer.
The deal with the crows and Park Minjun bothered you. Despite knowing that the man was selling weapons, you had to find a way to get close and get a real proof. But how? You couldnât really show at his doorstep and ask him about the details. And getting closer to the crows would be too troublesome. With a long and tired sigh, you threw your head back and closed your eyes to think. Sadly, your brain didnât want to think about work and possible solutions. No, it chose to think about a very cute, yet annoying man.
âFuck it.â You groaned and tried to erase his image from your mind. You didnât want to think about him. You didnât want to remember the night you spent together. You didnât want to remember how easily your body craved his touches. And you certainly didnât want to admit how much you still wanted more.
Your doorbell rang and brought you back to reality. You glanced at the door, tempted to ignore whoever dared to disturb you at your place. Not many knew where you lived, it was better this way for your safety.
It rang a second time followed by a loud knock.
âOpen the damn door, Y/N!â Jisungâs loud voice reached your ear.
âOf-fucking-course.â The temptation to ignore him was strong but you also knew that Jisung was a stubborn one; he would alert the whole neighborhood if it meant you would open the damn door.
Unwillingly, you forced yourself out of the couch to open the door. âWhat the fuck do you want?!â
Jisung lifted his bag and wiggled it playfully before you as if it would change your mind about his presence. âLetâs get drunk.â
Tempting, you had to admit it. You stared at the bag before sliding your gaze to him. Jisung was smiling so widely, knowingly, it annoyed you. He didnât come here just to get drunk; he wanted information and the best way was through alcohol.
âFine.â You stepped out of his way. âCome in.â
Jisung didnât need to be told twice. He hurried inside before you could change your mind. He eyed the room, gasping at the mess. Folders were spread all around your table along with your clothes. Despite being back for few days now, instead of properly unpacking, you left your clothes all around the living room.
âAre you going to tell me?â Jisung asked and glanced at you over his shoulder, âOr should I make you talk?â
You eyed him, incredulous. Jisung tried to sound intimidating as if he could actually make you talk but with his boyish looks it just didnât work. You drew nearer, a dangerous glint in your eyes. You were the predator in the room and you didnât mind reminding him. You stopped, barely any space left between your bodies.
âAnd how are you going to make me talk, Ji?â You flicked his nose playfully.
Jisung gulped, not so confident anymore. You laughed and pulled back to give him space. You pulled out a bottle of bear from his bag and walked to the couch. âWhat exactly do you want to know?â
You plopped on the couch and relaxed.
âHowâs work with Hyunjin?â He asked as he grabbed his own bottle and sat on the chair, watching you.
His question didnât surprise you but it still annoyed you. âHeâs a pain in my ass.â
Jisung wiggled his brows playfully. âIâm sure youâre the perfect partner too.â
You already regretted letting him in. You didnât want to talk about Hyunjin with him. You didnât want to talk about him at all in fact. But one look at Jisung and you knew he wouldnât leave until he got his answers. God help me.
âYou know I prefer working alone. Itâs easier. I donât want his life to depend on me.â You explained.
Jisung hummed, knowing how your brain worked. âBut sometimes itâs nice to know someone has your back. Hyunjin is loyal and will do anything to help you.â
You knew. Your last interaction showed just how much he was willing to help even if you were a cold bitch to him. You wanted to keep him away from you, from the danger that you loved to surround yourself with. He didnât need this drama in his life. Hyunjin was a nice guy. Even before working with him, you had heard stories about him and you had witnessed on many occasions how wiling he was to help people. Even those who didnât deserve his help.
âYou know Iâll put him in danger.â You sighed in defeat.
Jisung pointed at you with his bottle. âPretty sure itâs not your call to make.â
***
You didnât know how you felt about visiting Hyunjinâs office out of the blue. On one hand you knew the reasonable thing to do would be to apologize for your behavior and have a truce with him. But on the other hand, you werenât particularly fond of the idea of working with him again. You feared that more time you spent with him and more likely you would put him in danger. And maybe grow fond of him too. It was dangerous for your plans and so out of your character. You didnât have time for men or the patience. You could deal with one night stands; you had your needs to fulfill after all. But more? No. Not your thing.Â
But Hyunjin was testing your boundaries, your willpower without even knowing it, therefore it made him dangerous.Â
You stared at his half-opened door, hesitating. All you had to do was to walk in, offer him a coffee and apologize. And then ask for his help. Not so hard, was it? It was. You took a deep breath, composed your face and walked inside his office confidently.Â
âHello, Hwang.â You hummed, sounding as friendly as you could manage.
If you had thought it would go easy, you were terribly wrong. Hyunjin barely acknowledged your presence, the only sign that told you he had perfectly heard you, was the way his body tensed at the sound of your voice and how he stopped taping on his computer. Yeah, easy peasy.Â
His reaction didnât deter you. You got to his desk and put the cup of coffee you got him beside his computer, pretending that everything was alright. Â
And yet still no reaction.Â
You observed him in silence for a moment, taking your time to memorize every part of his face. You smiled when he crunched his nose, his resolution to ignore you slowly crumbling. The corner of your lips quirked up. You sat on the edge of his desk and gently grabbed his chin, tilting his head. âI didnât give him a blowjob. But I beat the shit out of him when I got the information.âÂ
Here was the truth of what really happened. Of course, you were ready to do a lot to succeed but you still had your own limits. And you had other effective means to make someone talk. You let go of his chin and tried not to smile at his reaction.Â
Hyunjin tried to keep his face straight, to hide his emotions but you saw a glimpse of surprise on his face anyway. You noticed how his body relaxed instantly at your confession. Slowly, he outstretched his arm and grabbed your peace offering. You watched him, eyes never leaving him as he brought the cup of coffee to his damn tempting lips and took a sip. If from outside you were smiling at the little win, inside you were slapping yourself for admiring him a little too much.Â
âThank you for the coffee.â Hyunjin held the cup with one hand and leaned back against his chair. âWhy are you here, Y/N?â
âBecause I was an ass to you and Iâm sorry. And I need your help.â You wanted to say. Instead, you eyed him, captivated with his lips and some creams in the corner of his lips.Â
âAccording to Namjoon and also you, we are partners. Canât I visit my partner?â You tried to play coy, when really, all you had to do was be sincere with him. But it went against your nature and your damn ego.Â
Hyunjin wasnât impressed, judging by the way he quirked a brow and didnât comment.Â
Yeah. It wasnât so easy after all. You were too hopeful. Who would have guessed that the sweet and gentle Hyunjin could actually hold a (totally justified) grudge. You underestimated him and that was your mistake.Â
You sighed in defeat. âFine. I need your help.âÂ
Hyunjin whistled, impressed with how long it took you to admit the reason behind your visit. âAnd here I thought you didnât need a partner.âÂ
You chewed on your lips, so tempted to make a snarky comment but you couldnât. You did need his help. âYou wonât make it easy, will you?âÂ
Hyunjin shrugged as if it was nothing and took another sip, waiting for your explanation, not agreeing right away. You had to admit that you were impressed how easily he managed to keep a straight face, not giving in right away. You knew better than to underestimate an opponent but somehow you did.Â
âFine.â You raised your hands in defeat. âDo you remember Chris? Thereâs a party and I know Minjun will also attend it. The two of them know that Iâm married, it would be weird if I show up without my handsome husband.âÂ
You waited for him to show any sign, but Hyunjin only stared at you, making you feel uneasy for the first time. He wouldnât refuse, would he? Not that you couldnât make it work without him. You were pretty sure you could convince anyone. But deep inside, you wanted him to be by your side. Even if it was a very dangerous game. But then, he stood up and took a step towards you. He put his hands on the desk, on every side of you, trapping you between the desk and him.Â
âAnd how badly do you need my presence, wifey?â He asked, face a little too close to your liking. You could see every little mark, his pretty mole and those damn lips. You could barely remember his question, your attention on his lips only. Someone talked about a mission? A plan? Who cared when you could just tilt your face and claim those lips for yourself.
Seeing how unresponsive you were and with your eyes locked on his lips, Hyunjin couldnât stop himself from leaning even closer. His lips brushed the shell of your ear; your body reacted on its own, shivering in both excitement and need. âAre you even listening, wifey?â
âI am.â A big fat liar, yes.
He clicked his tongue at your blatant lie and pulled completely away, freeing your body and also your damn brain from his spell. You blinked in confusion and had to fight back the urge to pull him back.
âIâll help you.â
***
It had been ages since the last time you attended one of Chrisâs parties. You avoided those kind of parties if you could. You hated the people that attended it, always the same one: arrogant, rich, who still managed to complain about every little thing when they had everything they needed. You loathed them and hated their conversation. But at least with Chris it was different. Maybe it was because of him and how genuine he was about what he did or maybe he just always managed to ground you.
Tonight was no exception. The venue was huge, classy and smelled of money. Fortunately for you, this time around you didnât need Chrisâs presence to help you to go through the night. You had someone better and definitely more distracting than your friend.
Hyunjin looked insanely good in his red suit and with his hair pushed back. A model. If he ever got tired of his current job, you had no doubt that he could revert to modeling and he would succeed. Apparently, you werenât the only one who noticed how good he looked tonight; many women had their eyes on him. Too bad, he wasnât there for them. To mark your claim, you looped your arms with his and gave him a sweet smile. Take that bitches, heâs mine. Very adult of you.
âI know what youâre doing.â Hyunjin whispered and brushed his lips against your forehead.
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â You feigned innocence and took a sip of your drink, nevertheless a smug smile spread on your lips.
Hyunjin chuckled and shook his head, fond with your attempt at hiding your intentions. âI donât care about those women. But do you know what bothers me?â His fingers slid slowly from your shoulder to your arm to your hand â you shivered in response and looked at him expectantly. âThose men eye-fucking you.â
Oh dear, where was the sweet Hyunjin? He looked anything but gentle right now. In fact, the murder in his eyes reminded you a lot of you. Maybe, he wasnât that different from you. You wrapped your arms around his neck, making sure not to spill your drink over him, you pressed your body against him. âMaybe fuck me in the middle of the room and theyâll get the hint.â
Despite the display of affection that clearly attracted more attention on the two of you, Hyunjin played the game perfectly. He put his hands on your hips, his grip strong and delicious. âIs it a challenge?â
This time, you were the one to shake your head, amused with the outcome. Here you thought, you could make him blush and change the subject. But no, Hyunjin still managed to surprise you. âWhen did you get so bold, Hwang?â
âI believe youâre rubbing on me.â
âNamjoon is going to have a heart attack if you start behaving like me.â
Hyunjin could actually imagine Namjoonâs reaction and shivered. âIâm sure it would please you.â
You didnât comment but your silence spoke louder. So did your smirk.
Reluctantly, Hyunjin let go of you. âHeâs here.â Hyunjin commented as he finally spotted Minjun. And as much as you wanted to enjoy your time with your fake husband, you had a job to do. âHeâs with his wife.âÂ
You groaned at the mention of the wife. âI can deal with him but her-â While investigating about Minjun you found plenty of interesting and disturbing information on his wife. From outside she looked like the typical rich wife. Inside? She was an ugly, manipulative bitch. She had no problem with using her power to bully the weak, to use her influence to get what she wanted. Whoever she wanted. The kind of person you just wished you could shoot and never look at again. Sadly, if you wanted to find out more about the CEO you also needed to face her.Â
âI canât promise I wonât snap.â You finished.Â
âWell, my lovely wife,â Hyunjin took your hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. âIâm more than willing to hold you back.âÂ
Park Minjun spotted the two of you before you could even reach them. His whole face lit up like a Christmas tree, genuinely delighted seeing you again. Maybe not Hyunjin, but you for sure.Â
âWhat a lovely surprise!â He took you completely off guard by reaching for you and giving you a hug. You didnât peg him for a hugger, but apparently he was. âSuch a delight! You look lovely, Y/N.â And then he shook Hyunjinâs hand, surprisingly with enthusiasm.Â
âThank you M. Park.â You gave him your prettiest smile, trying to look as genuine as possible which with Hyunjinâs presence influencing you, wasnât that hard. At least, until your gaze found the old hagâs face. The urge to slap her was strong; she was ogling Hyunjin as if he was a piece of meat and not a human being.Â
âDarling, this is Y/N and Hyunjin.â He introduced you.Â
Lazily her gaze slid to you, looking at you as if you were nothing but dirt under her feet. Such a lovely piece of shit, you thought.Â
âHeâs way too pretty to be your husband.â She commented with a huff of disdain.Â
You are going to die. Slowly and painfully.
âHeâs way too pretty to be tied to a woman like her.â She completely disregarded you, her attention fully back on Hyunjin.
âCome on darling.â Minjun tried, sensing that her comment brought a tension that wasnât there a moment ago. âDonât be rude. Y/N is a lovely and charming woman.âÂ
âFor a whore maybe.âÂ
Mission, mission, mission. You repeated the word in your head, trying to calm the fire spreading through your veins. Trying to keep your temper in check and not give in to your urge to slice her open with your knife and see if she bled the same color as you.Â
Fuck the mission. Discretely, you pushed back the sleeve of your left arm, ready to grab your knife. Before you could get it, Chris appeared right beside you, grabbing your hand and bringing it to his lips. He kissed your knuckles as a greeting, his smile charming but his eyes were burning with fire and a threat. A fire that would usually appease you and remind you your place. Not tonight. You were too gone.
âAnd she is family to me.â Chris announced as he let go of your hand and turned to face the couple. Despite now the polite smile on his face, the threat was obvious. âPlease refrain from insulting her or Iâll take it personally.âÂ
Minjunâs face paled at the threat. It would have amused you to see him squirm if it wasnât for your wish to fight. He cleared his throat and hurried to take his wifeâs hand. âWeâre going to grab another drink, letâs talk later.âÂ
The moment they left, Hyunjin let out a long sigh and looked at you with a knowing look. Someone wanted to scold you but you didnât give two shits.
âPiece of shit.â The two of you said at the same time.
Hyunjin surprised you with his words and reaction, but oddly, it soothed your nerves and the fire burning inside your veins. Yeah, he was right, you were rubbing on him.Â
Chris palmed his face. He barely avoided a massacre right in the middle of the party; just thinking about what could have happened tired him.Â
âAs much as I hate the woman, you canât hurt her.â Chrisâs hard gaze fell on you and you would have winced at it if not for Hyunjinâs comforting presence.Â
âSheâs a bitch!â You protested.
âAnd you have dozens of witnesses.â He gestured at the people surrounding you. âDonât get sloppy.â
Fine. Chris was right, but you still felt the need to get rid the world of another ugly human-being. Hyunjin sensed that; he wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you against him.Â
âItâs not like she was going to kill her.â Hyunjin told him, confident.Â
Oh Hyunjin, if only you knew.
You wished he hadnât said that. Not only because he was wrong, but also because it would alert Chris.Â
âSure about that? Y/N was ready to pull out her knife and end her right on the spot.â He looked at your covered arm, knowing a small knife was hiding under it. âShe craves violence but Iâm sure,â his gaze slid to Hyunjin, âyou already knew that.âÂ
Your palms were sweaty. Chris made you squirm under his mocking gaze. He knew this whole couple thing was fake, he felt it from the first time he had seen Hyunjin and Hyunjinâs faith in you only proved it.Â
âHave fun.â Chris said with one good look at the two of you. âBut donât cause trouble.âÂ
So tempting to tell him to fuck off but you resisted only for the sake of pretense.Â
âYou werenât really planning to hurt her?â Hyunjin asked.
âShe insulted you. This old damn hag-â
âSimp.â
âTake that back, Hwang!âÂ
****
It was only much later that you managed to have a second chance with Minjun, without his wife scowling at you. You didnât even have much to do to attract his attention; the moment you found yourself alone with your drink, he didnât hesitate to approach you. Obviously, Hyunjinâs presence never bothered him, but Chris? He clearly didnât want to attract his attention a second time.
âIâm so sorry for my wifeâs behavior.â He apologized, standing close to you.
You smiled sweetly at him, batting your eyelashes at him. âItâs fine. No harm done.â But what you really wanted to say was that his wife would not live another day if she ever made another comment about Hyunjin or even dared to look his way.
He smiled, grateful for your gentleness.
Another man, in black suit, joined the two of you. He nodded his head at Minjun and stood closely to the two of you. You remembered him. The same man that went with Minjun to meet the crows. You listened to the man, looking invested in whatever he was saying while your mind was going through different ways you could get information out of him. Instead, you spotted something else on the bodyguard as he moved: a gun.
âNice gun.â You commented, taking the two men off guard. Of course, they judged you for your looks and underestimated you. As if a woman who looked like a doll could know anything about guns. You stared at the gun for a moment before averting your eyes. âI donât recognize the model.â
Minjun whistled, impressed. âYou are full of surprises, Y/N.â
That you were. You smiled into your drink, trying not to look too smug. âMy uncle is an avid collector.â You glanced once more at the gun. âHe taught me how to shoot.â
Minjun made a sign with his hand and the bodyguard took few steps towards you before pulling his gun and handing it to you. You glanced at the man, making sure he didnât mind you touching it; he nodded his head and smiled.
âOh. I expected it to be heavier.â You commented as you admired the gun. You moved it around, weighing it.
âItâs a new design. I wanted to make life easier for my men.â Minjun admitted, proudly.
You handed the gun back to the bodyguard, your gaze on the older man. âGuess youâre full of surprises too, M. Park.â
âItâs a hobby of mine.â He confessed.
âThat reminds me of my uncle.â
âI bet Iâd get along with your uncle.â
He wouldnât.
***
Of course the crows would want the best guns on the market and if Park Minjun was the one making them, it was no surprise they agreed to work with him. But still, you needed more to be able to stop them. Maybe talking with Hyunjin would clear your mind and help you to find a solution to your problem. But before you could do any of that, Chris grabbed your arm and pulled you to the balcony where nobody could hear you.
Chris did not look amused when he met your eyes. In fact, you were pretty sure he was upset and was trying really bad to keep his own temper in check.
âWhatâs wrong Chris?â
âThe fuck youâre doing, Y/N?â He scowled.
It wouldnât be very wise of you to play pretend with him; Chris could read people easily, even you which annoyed you half of the time. Tonight was no exception. He could tell you were up to something and probably something bad. He wasnât wrong.
âNothing.â You raised your arms in defense. âYet.â
Chris took a deep breath to calm himself. âWhatâs your business with Park Minjun?â
Nothing went unnoticed, how sad. Unfortunately, you couldnât share your mission with him, no matter how close the two of you were. âNone. We met not long ago while I was enjoying a nice weekend with Hyunjin.â
Chris scoffed at the mention of your fake husband. âWho clearly knows shit about you.â
In a blink of an eye you stood before him, your knife no longer hidden under your sleeve and pressed against his throat. âAnd you better keep it that way.â
Chris didnât even blink, he stared at you, unimpressed. Wouldnât be the first time you threatened him. Nor the last. âYou and your love for knives is terrifying.â
âDonât see why.â You shrugged and pulled away. It would do you no good to fight him and you werenât that confident either. Behind his calmness, Chris was a sleeping storm; a storm you would rather avoid.
âDid you know Minjun sells weapons?â You asked instead.
Chris raised his brow at the change of subject. âYes. Heâs been a little paranoid recently. Some people want him dead, I heard. Beomseok offered him a deal: he will protect him but in exchange he will decide to who he sells the weapons.â
What a shitty deal, you thought. From outside, it looked nice; Minjun kept his business and his life, but really, he lost everything. âBasically, the crows are taking control over his business in exchange for his life.â
âYes, nothing good will come out of this deal.â Chris admitted as he kept his eyes on you. You could tell there was more he wanted to say but chose to hold back.
âWhat?â
âYouâre asking questions but you already know the answers.â He noted, expecting you to spill all your secrets.
Your only reaction came in the form of a lazy, knowing smile.
***
Hyunjin was going to be pissed. Rightfully so. And you would probably need to find another peace offering quite soon. You knew leaving him behind wasnât the nicest thing to do, especially not since you were the one who requested his presence at the party. But you couldnât involve him in your plans. Not only he wouldnât approve of your ideas but you bet he would try to stop you. Therefore, you left the party without looking back.
Just in case, you had left your car in the parking lot with clothes and weapons. You hurried to change, ditching your dress for a more comfortable outfit: black pants, grey t-shirt, a jacket and a cap to hide your identity if needed. You hid your favorite gun under your t-shirt, reveling in the feeling of it against your skin. You hid another knife in your boots, tucking it safely.
Once ready, you slumped in your seat, you waited and watched people coming in and out of the venue. Your plan wasnât the best one and you werenât fully sure it would lead you anywhere but you were tired of waiting and trying to find other ways to get proofs.
You didnât need to wait long for Minjun to leave the party along with his wife and the bodyguard. Perfect. You waited for the car to start, gave them a moment to leave the parking lot and then you followed.
Obviously, you couldnât invite yourself at his house and search the place, too dangerous. But the bodyguard? He was there the night the deal happened which meant he had valuable information and stalking him would be a piece of cake. And it was exactly what you did.
The bodyguard dropped the Parks at their house, stayed barely five minutes inside before leaving again. You hoped he would drive to his place â it would be easier to slip inside and get to him. But no, you supposed like many men he needed to unwind after a long day of work and the best place for many happened to be a bar.
You followed him inside and observed him from a corner, watching as he talked to some other men. You werenât a very patient person, half of the time, but when it came to work and your preys, you didnât mind waiting as long as it helped you to get what you needed.
And you were rewarded. He left through the backdoor to smoke. And it was your chance. The place was perfect; barely any light and nobody outside. And no security cameras. He shouldnât have used the backdoor.
Satisfied, you moved closer to him without making any noise and pointed your gun at his head. âLetâs play a game.â
He froze at the sound of your voice and the feel of the gun pressed against his head. He was sloppy and it was his mistake. He should have known that working for Park Minjun would bring him trouble; he should have watched his back. Too bad for him, but good for you.
You got around to face him. The moment his eyes fell on you; you knew he recognized you. His arm twitched, wanting probably to reach for his own gun but you shook your gun and pressed it a little harder against his head.
âNow come on, play nice.â
âWhat the fuck do you want?â He spat angrily, fuming that a woman managed to ambush him so easily. You bet, he was even angrier with himself for underestimating you, for being deceived with your sweet looks.
âTold you, letâs play a game. I ask you questions and if you play nice you stay alive. Easy right?â You would be lying if you said you werenât enjoying the little game. You enjoyed making the strong men squirm.
He scoffed. âYou wonât kill me.â And here he was underestimating you again.
You sighed, disappointed. Fine, if he wanted to play the tough guy. With a blink of an eye, you grabbed his arm and kicked his right knee making him fall on his knees. âAh, men on their knees, always such a nice sight.â You smiled sweetly at him. âNow. I heard that your boss is working with the crows. Where can I find the contract?â
He looked at you. Really looked at you. You were a different person and he had finally realized it. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
You hovered over him and shook your head. âI really want to play nice but youâre making things unnecessary complicated.â
He spat at your feet in response.
âRude. Sure you donât want to answer?â You tried to give him another chance. âNo?â
Because he was so concentrated on your gun, he didnât notice you pulling out your knife, you stuck it right into his left thigh. He screamed and grabbed his thigh, cursing loudly.
âNow, letâs try again. Where can I find the contract?â You asked again, your voice much colder.
âI donât know!â He wailed.
You applauded his attempt at lying to your face. He should have understood by now that you were ready to get your hands dirty to get your answers, but he still tried to resist.
Your phone vibrated in your pocket which made you pause. You took it out of your pocket to see Hyunjinâs name on the screen. As tempting as it was to ignore his call, you couldnât, not after leaving him without a word at the party.
You sighed and looked down at the man. âBe a good boy and keep your mouth shut.â And then you answered your phone. âHi darling!â
âWhere the fuck are you, Y/N?â Hyunjin almost growled on the phone.
Yeah, he was pissed. âSomewhere. Busy.â
âY/N.â
âIâm sorry. I should have texted you but I got carried away.â Which wasnât far from the truth. The moment the plan formed in your head, you couldnât really think about anything else. âAnd I didnât warn you because I knew you wouldnât agree.â
The man at your feet opened his mouth, wanting probably to scream and hope to get some help. You were faster; you put the gun into his mouth. He whimpered, eyes wide.
âY/N.â Hyunjinâs voice sounded darker.
âIâm fine. Stop worrying.â
There was a silence on the other end and then he exhaled loudly. âAnd is the other person with you fine?â
Busted. You glared angrily at the man. âFor at least another ten minutes, yes.â
You imagined Hyunjin ruffling his hair in frustration, torn between the wish to tell you to stop and something else.
âBe careful.â Was what he chose to say.
âAw darling, you almost sound like you really care for me.â You grinned, delighted with his words.
Hyunjin hung up first. Satisfied, you turned your attention back on the bleeding man. âSo? How about you end your misery? I was there when he signed the contract.â
âYouâre not going to spare my life.â He managed to say. It wasnât a question; he had realized by now that you werenât a nice person.
âNo. But if you play along Iâll make it painless.â You admitted.
He considered it for a moment. There was only the two of you, the gun still pointed at him and his thigh was bleeding. He could try to overpower you but the way you looked at him made him pause. There was no trace of the gentle woman he had seen before. No, your smile was cruel and eyes cold. The eyes of a killer.
He was fucked.
âThey kept the contract. Boss was furious that they didnât even get him a copy.â
You crouched down to his level, watching him closely. You needed to know if he wasnât trying to lie to you. He wasnât. He looked tired and paler. âThey never play nice.â
He nodded, agreeing. âThereâs something else. When he signed the contract, they showed him the list of clients he could sell to.â
âLet me guess,â You hummed, âBunch of assholes he didnât want to sell to?â
âYes. They kept it too.â
âI see.â You straightened up and pointed your gun at his head once more. âThank you for your help.â And shot.
***
You came straight home after dealing with the bodyguard, desperately needing a good shower to get rid of some blood on your hands and get rid of your bloodied t-shirt. But more importantly, you needed to plan now that you knew who had the contract. All your plans for the rest of the night vanished the moment you spotted Hyunjin, sitting on the floor against your door.
What the hell. You were going to kill Han Jisung for not minding his god-damn-business. There was no way Hyunjin found your address without his help. You didnât want him to know where you lived. You didnât want him to get even closer to you; it was too risky for both you and him.
You stared at him, forgetting how to breath. You didnât expect to see him so soon and definitely not after you had killed someone. You didnât want him to witness you in this state but there was no way you could hide now. So you stared, thinking about what you could do, what you would say. What you could say.
Hyunjin looked tired and worried. His hair a mess, you bet he kept ruffling his hair in frustration, wondering what exactly you were doing. Or maybe he was messing his hair because he knew exactly what you were up to and it scared him. But even like this, he looked insanely good. Youâre insane, Y/N.
You exhaled and chuckled. âIâm surprise my neighbor didnât call the cops.â
Easily, Hyunjin got back on his feet and waited for you to join him. âOh donât worry. The old lady did threaten to call them. But I charmed her.â
Of course, he did. Nobody could possibly resist him. And yet, you wondered how he managed this miracle. You knew Mrs. Kim; she was an old, cold lady, who loved her peace and didnât appreciate strangers. In fact, she didnât like many people, you included. Not that you minded.
âAnd how exactly did you charm her?â
âI told her that we fought and I was willing to stay at your door the whole night if it means you will forgive me. Turns out sheâs a romantic. She wished me good luck.â Hyunjin admitted, a faint blush on his face.
You would have never guessed. But then again, you avoided the old woman as much as you could.
Hyunjinâs eyes roamed your face and then your body, silently checking for any injuries. You winced because he couldnât miss the blood on your clothes. He closed the distance between the two of you and cupped your face, worry written all over his face. âAre you hurt?â
You should be annoyed. Annoyed that Jisung told him where you lived. Annoyed that he came here. Annoyed that he cared so much for you when you were half of the time a bitch to him. Annoyed how your heartbeat quickened at his touch. Annoyed how your insides melted. But you didnât feel annoyance. No, you felt the butterflies in your stomach and the need to wrap yourself around him and let his warmth consume you.
âIâm fine.â You assured him, your throat suddenly dry.
Despite your answer, Hyunjin didnât look fully convinced. You held your breath as his hands slowly slid from your face to your neck and then to your unzipped jacket. His frown only deepened at the sight of blood. Sensing what he was about to do, you grabbed his hands and forced him to stop, remembering too late that your hands werenât very clean either. âItâs not my blood.â
âAre you sure?â
It appeased your heart to know that he wasnât worried about what you did, only about you. A small smile crept across your face. âYes. I was too fast for him.â
Hyunjin took you off guard; he pressed his forehead against yours, exhaling in relief. âGood.â
The reasonable thing to do would be to tell him to go home. The reasonable thing would be to put some distance between the two of you, but your body refused to move and your words got stuck in your throat. The little voice inside your head screamed at you to escape his warmth â you didnât even try. No, you closed your eyes and reveled in the moment. It felt too nice. Too good. Girl, youâre fucked.
âWant to come in?â
***
You didnât want to get used to the feeling of waking up beside a still sleeping Hyunjin. It went against your rules and compromised everything you worked for. And yet, as you watched him sleeping, a few strands of hair hiding his eyes, you barely cared. You hadnât felt this calm, this peaceful in years. It disturbed you but it was also nice.
You reached out to touch his face, but Hyunjin grabbed your wrist and instead pulled you right in his arms, his grip strong around you. You squealed, surprised. And here you thought he was still sleeping. He tricked you. Â
âWere you pretending, Hwang?â You tried to sound annoyed to hide your own embarrassment.
Hyunjin held you a little tighter as he planted a kiss to the crown of your head. âMaybe. Maybe not.â
You huffed against his chest and pressed yourself a little more against him, wrapping a leg over him. Yeah, it was a nice change.Â
Hyunjin chuckled at your unusual behavior. âAnd here I thought you didnât mind sharing a bed with me as long as I wasnât a hugger.â He threw back your own words at you.Â
And he was damn right. You never liked huggers and yet you couldnât deny that you were enjoying it with Hyunjin. To save your face, you tried to extract yourself from the safety of his arms. You barely made it before he pulled you back with even more strength and wrapped his limbs around you.Â
âNo, no. Donât even try. Youâre stuck with me.â He warned you.Â
âLet me go, Hwang.â You tried again. But he didnât let go. âHyunjin.âÂ
He hummed against you and brushed his lips against your skin, shutting you up pretty quickly. âTry calling me Hyunjin again and you wonât leave this bed at all.âÂ
You were glad your face was hidden from his eyes, preventing him from seeing the light blush that formed on your face. He was a menace and was getting better at it with every moment he spent with you. You were in trouble.Â
***
By some kind of miracle, the two of you managed to get ready and leave on time. Hyunjin thought the two of you would get to the office together, but sadly for him you had other plans in mind and you couldnât let him come with you.Â
âWait, youâre not coming with me?â Hyunjin realized when you were finally ready to part from him.Â
âYeah. I have few things to do.â You admitted, feeling a little nervous under his knowing gaze. Of course, he knew you were up to something again.Â
Hyunjin stayed close to you, watching you, thinking about what he should do. The reasonable thing to do, and especially because he was your partner, would to push you to tell him your plan. But Hyunjin knew better. He could try to force you but he wanted you to willingly include him in your plans, to show him that you trusted him.Â
âDoes it involve you ending up with blood on your clothes?â He asked instead.Â
âNo.â You said.Â
âAnd you wonât get hurt either right?âÂ
Did your heart miss a beat at his genuine concern for your wellbeing? Absolutely. You cleared your throat and avoided his eyes; you didnât need him to see the different emotions in your eyes.Â
âNo. Iâll be fine.âÂ
Hyunjin gently grabbed your face and brushed his lips against yours. âNo more killing, Y/N.â He insisted.
You opened your mouth to protest but he hurried to add. âFor the week.âÂ
You shook your head, chuckling to yourself. âCareful, Hwang. Youâre becoming like me.âÂ
***
You arrived at the restaurant shortly after. Despite your intentions, you hesitated at the entrance. You easily spotted the person you were looking for through the window; your cousin looked just the same. Still cheerful, still loud and just like every time you saw him, he was surrounded by his friends. You felt a pang in your heart. You used to love spending time with him, he was the only family that still mattered to you, the only you cared about. You didnât want to involve him in your plan, but he was the safest choice.
You took a deep breath and pushed the door. You walked in as if you owned the place. A small smile towards the waiter and then, you walked straight to your cousinâs table. He was too busy telling a story, he didnât notice you until it was too late. The moment his eyes locked with yours, a huge grin spread on your lips.
âHi, sweet boy.â You plopped on the empty chair beside him. âHello boys.â
A hush fell over the table; all they did was stare at you.
âWell look at that. Isnât it your sweet little cousin?â One of his friend beamed in delight and mischief. Beomgyu was still this mischievous kid that followed your cousin. You could scowl at him all you wanted, he never cared which you couldnât help but appreciate.
âIt has been a while kiddo.â You leaned closer to him and nudged his arm playfully. âStill a troublemaker?â
âLook whoâs talking.â He teased back. âHey, Yeonjun, when was the last time you saw your cousin?â
You rolled your eyes in response. It wasnât even that long. Maybe two or three months ago. At best.
âSix months ago.â Yeonjun answered, tapping his fingers on the table, unamused.
Oops. So maybe you got carried away with your work and forgot to visit him. You didnât look so smug anymore. âIt canât be that long!â But it probably was. âIâm sorry.â You raised your hands in defense. âIâm a bad cousin but you already knew that.âÂ
You werenât really bad cousin. You knew that. And so did Yeonjun. When he needed you the most, you were there. When he finally found the courage to put his past behind him, you were delighted to help him to have a fresh start.
Yeonjun sighed and just when you thought he would make it harder than it had to be, he threw a fry right at you, an devilish grin on his face.Â
You gasped loudly. âAsshole!âÂ
âLove you too, pumpkin.â He blew you a kiss.Â
âUgh not this nickname.â You groaned but even if you didnât like it, your inside warmed at his words. You shouldnât have stayed away for so long.Â
âAre we about to start a food fight?â Beomgyu asked, already grabbing a tomato, ready to aim.Â
âNo!â You both answered. Yeonjun probably because he didnât want to be banned from this restaurant and you because you didnât want to dirty your clothes.Â
âWhat are you doing here, Y/N?â Yeonjun leaned a little closer.Â
âWhat do you mean?â You feigned innocence. âI miss my cousin.âÂ
Yeonjun rolled his eyes at your bad acting. âAs if.âÂ
You did miss him, but he was right, you werenât here because of that. âFine. I need your help.â
He cocked a brow, a little intrigued. Usually, it was the other way around and it made him curious. âIâm listening.â
âI need you to steal a very important contract from your old daddy.âÂ
He wasnât supposed to follow you. He should have headed straight to work and forget about the different plans that were probably forming in your head. But could someone blame him for worrying? He knew how reckless you were and no matter how good you were at your work, one day it could fireback. So instead of doing his own job, he followed you as discretely as possible, knowing that if you ever caught him, you would be pissed.Â
Out of all the places he expected you to go, a restaurant wasnât one of them. He waited and watched from across the street. You looked comfortable with the group of men, smiling and laughing. A sight he still wasnât used to see but couldnât deny worked against him. Your smile warmed him and his heart beat a little faster, imagining it was for him. It dawned on him that your smile meant a lot to him and if he could, he would keep it only for himself. If he could, he would keep you for himself.
Seeing you safe and sound should have been enough for him to leave and go back to his business. But did he? No. He stood rooted to the spot, staring at you.
Hyunjin was not a jealous person. Or insecure. At least, he thought he wasnât. But apparently, when it came to you, everything changed. The moment he saw one of the men lean into you and wrap his arms around you, Hyunjin couldnât ignore the green monster inside him. He wanted to talk to the two of you and yank you away from the man. He wanted to ask you the difficult questions. But he did none of that. Because there was one thing he didnât want: fight with you.Â
Or maybe he was just a coward.Â
***
Hyunjin came back to his office feeling suddenly tired but also needing a distraction. He thought working on his other case would distract him from thoughts of you, from the image of another man holding you. It was a useless attempt when you lived rent free in his head.Â
âFuck.â He cursed and gripped his pen so tightly he broke it in two.Â
âSomeone is in a mood.â Jisungâs cheerful voice interrupted his trail of thoughts.
Hyunjin blinked in confusion, his eyes on his broken pen. He was a mess and he bet it was written all over his face. He tried to compose himself as Jisung approached, but failed.
âDude, you look miserable.â Jisung commented and plopped on a chair, making himself comfortable.
For once, Hyunjin didnât feel like talking to his friend, knowing damn well he would seek information out of him, knowing he would read right through him. Â âWhat are you doing here, Ji?â
âI was bored.â Jisung shrugged as if it was nothing which earnt him a scowl from Hyunjin, ready to fight him. Jisung raised his hands in defense. âFine. Stop looking at me like that. Youâre becoming like her.â
But his scowl only deepened at the mention of you.
Jisung sighed in defeat. âFine. I saw you earlier, you looked pissed as hell. I tried calling for you a few times â you either didnât hear me or ignored me on purpose.â
âAnd you donât like being ignored.â Hyunjin commented.
âThat,â Jisung agreed with a nod, âAnd I was worried too.â
Hyunjin considered not telling him what was bothering him but he quickly figured that if he couldnât openly tell you that he was jealous, he could at least share it with Jisung. Hyunjin ruffled his hair in frustration and groaned. âI followed her this morning and saw her with a bunch of men.â
Jisung leaned closer, his attention fully on him, a tiny smirk on his face that irked Hyunjin. âNothing unusual for the moment.â
âShe looked really close with one of them. I-â
âDamn man, youâre so whipped.â Jisung couldnât hold back.
âAm not.â Hyunjin protested in vain. He stared at Jisung for a moment, sensing that he had lied not only to his friend but also to himself. Hyunjin buried his face in his hands to stifle another groan. âI donât know what Iâm doing.â
Jisung chuckled at his misery. âWell, a piece of advice; you should talk to her and clear the air.â
âYou know her better than me.â Hyunjin reminded him. âDo you really think she will take it well?â
Jisung considered his question for a moment. âProbably not.â

9pm.
On a normal day, Hyunjin would have been already back at his place, relaxing with some food and a TV show. Tonight, however, he dreaded the moment he would have to go back home and found himself stuck with thoughts he wanted to avoid. But if Hyunjin thought staying at work would save him from you, he was wrong.
The door to his office was pushed, the sound making him realize that he wasnât alone on the floor as he initially thought. His eyes widened in shock to see you standing by the door. He gulped nervously as he eyed you from head to toe. Hyunjin didnât think you could look any better but you proved him wrong again. You wore different clothes from this morning; a leather skirt along with a white blouse. Hair tied in a ponytail, red lips. Sexy, confident and delighted with his reaction. He quickly averted his eyes, refusing to let you see how affected he was with just your presence.
Foolish of him to think it would stop you.
Hyunjin heard your light steps getting closer to him. He tried to pretend you werenât here but as you got closer, so did your sweet, intoxicating scent. He watched from the corner of his eyes as you sat on his desk, your skirt hiking in the process. He shouldnât be staring at your lovely legs but the temptation was too strong and he was just too weak when it came to you. Hyunjin closed his eyes and took a deep breath to compose himself.
âWhatâs wrong, Hwang?â You asked and gently grabbed his chin, forcing him to face you.
Such a simple touch and yet it sent shivers down his spine. A simple touch that set his body on fire. âNothing.â But maybe, Hyunjin was a little stubborn too. âIâm just tired.â
You scoffed at his blatant lie. âYouâre a terrible liar. Try again.â
Hyunjin resisted. âWhat are you doing here, Y/N?â
âWhy not?â You asked instead. âYouâre my partner.â
âAm I only that?â he wanted to ask instead but no words left his mouth. He simply stared back at you, watching as a frown formed on your face at his silence and refusal to cooperate. It only proved you that there was something wrong with him.
Hyunjin easily freed himself from your grip and slumped further into his chair. âIâm sure you have better things to do, Y/N.â Maybe pushing you away wasnât his brightest idea, but Hyunjin wasnât sure he would be able to control himself and to hide his emotions. He didnât want you to see just how affected he was.
âYouâre right.â You said and jumped from his desk. For once, you didnât want to push his limits. You didnât want to fight. âI should probably go back to people who actually miss me.â
The moment you turned your back to leave, Hyunjin saw again the image of you, happy, with a man other than him and he didnât like it. Before you could take another step, Hyunjin bolted from his chair and grabbed your arm. He spun you in his arms and claimed your mouth, any protests swallowed by his mouth.
There was absolutely no way, he could let you leave.
Contrary to what he thought you would do; you didnât try to push him away. No, he felt you smiling against his lips, knowing you had win this game so damn easily. It should alarm him, but he didnât find it in him to care. Not when you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer to your body. Not when you fought him just as hardly for dominance.
Hyunjin lifted you from the floor, bringing you back on top of his desk. He stood between your legs, grinding against you. His whole body was begging him to do something, to taste you, to devour you. You were his drug and he was more than eager to indulge in his addiction.
âAnd here I thought you wanted me to leave, Hwang.â You managed to say, wanting to sound smug, but instead your voice came out breathy. Â
Hyunjin refused to answer to your provocation. Instead, he hiked your skirt and slid his hand between your legs, humming in satisfaction. You were soaked and he barely touched you. âHow come youâre already this wet, darling?â
Hyunjin slipped two fingers inside you with ease, teasing. So wet. So warm. So perfect. And only for him.
You bit on your lips to prevent a moan from escaping. Futile attempt. âMmmh, maybe because I was thinking about you.â
Hyunjin smiled lazily. âIs that so?â He pulled out his fingers and brought them to his lips, to have a taste. His drug. âAre you hoping to get fucked tonight, Y/N?â
Judging by the glint in his eyes, you guessed that trying to play coy would get you nowhere. âYes.â You admitted. Because truth was, you couldnât get enough of him too.
Hyunjinâs smile stretched wider. His hands left your body to unzip his pants, showing you your prize. His pretty cock. Hard and needy. âAnd who am I to deny you?â
You licked your lips in hunger and anticipation, your body remembering how nice he felt. How nice his cock could stretch you.Â
Hyunjin pushed your legs further apart and filled you to the hilt with one strong push. You threw your head back as a loud and needy moan escaped your lips. Hyunjin groaned as you clenched without thinking around him.
âFuck, Y/N.â He growled and slowly pulled out until just the tip of his cock was inside of you.
âDonât hold back.â You pleaded. You wanted him to show you no mercy. To ruin you completely. To leave you begging, drooling, unable to do anything except beg for his cock.
Hyunjin hovered over you and planted a sweet kiss. The last one before he let go. He thrust back in. Strong. Deep. Every thrust harder than the last.
You thrashed under him, trying to grab at anything to keep you grounded.
Pointless.Â
Your eyes rolled in the back of your head at the intensity. But his hand closed around your neck, forcing you to keep your eyes open. Forcing you to look him in the eyes as he fucked you with intensity, bringing you closer to your sweet release. So close you could taste it. You could feel it.
âPlease, Hyunjin,â You begged, tears pricking your eyes. Your whole body was burning, shaking, begging for release. âIâm so close.â
Hyunjin smirked, âI love when you beg, Y/N.â
Just when you thought you would explode, Hyunjin slowed down. He did once. Twice. By the third time you writhed and cried. You grabbed his arms, scratching him in retribution but it only made him grin.
âSay what you need.â
âHyunjin, I canât. Please.â You pleaded, too desperate for relief.
And he complied. He fucked you with force, hitting the sweet spot inside you that made your toes curl. You tried to keep your eyes open, but you couldnât. Not when your orgasm hit you, waves of pleasures. Your body shook, unable to stop as Hyunjin kept fucking you.
Hyunjin came with a shudder before collapsing on top of you, his head pressed to your breasts. You stayed in silence. The only sound in the room were your pants and the loud beating of your hearts.
âCome to my place?â You found your voice and yet you didnât sound like yourself. Too vulnerable.
Hyunjin peeked at you, his hair sticking to his face. âRound two?â
***
You were full of surprises.
Hyunjin realized as he stood in the middle of your living room that he should definitely stop making assumptions about you. He came to terms that despite the time the two of you had spent together there were still so many layers of your personality, many things about your life that he didnât know but was more than eager to find out.
Who would have guessed that you enjoyed cooking? It seemed so out of character. He thought your hobbies would definitely revolve around knives and different kind of weapons. And maybe a shopping addict because your outfits always looked on point. And yet when he glanced over his shoulder and saw you cooking and humming to yourself, it seemed so natural. You had tied your hair in a messy bun and had changed into more comfortable clothes; grey sweatpants and an oversized white t-shirt. You looked so homey, so comfortable, Hyunjin had to fight the urge to join you and backhug you.
He shook off the image of you and him for the sake of his sanity and instead took his time to observe your place. Last night, his attention was fully on you, he barely noticed the details. Hyunjin expected to see a place cold, without personality and with only few furniture because you seemed like someone who just didnât have time to linger for long in one place.
Boy wrong he was. Warm colors, fluffy blankets and pillows spread all over the couch and on a single chair. Dozens of shelves with books occupied two walls. Pictures all over the main wall in the living room. So many pictures. Hyunjin walked to the wall, his hands in his pockets. Pictures that showed you at different stages of your life. On some you looked like a high-schooler, on some a little older, and always surrounded by people. You looked happy, a big smile plastered on your face on every pictures and sometimes you were making silly faces. On one picture he recognized Chris; he had one arm around your shoulders, dimples on full display and another girl with the two of you. But what got his full attention was the picture of you and the man he recognized from earlier. You were on his back, laughing.
âAh. You found my wall of memories.â You joined him and looked fondly at the pictures.
âYou look different.â Hyunjin admitted without looking at you. You looked free, happy and so warm. A side of you he saw glimpses from time to time but he wondered what it would be like if you were always like this.
You hummed in response.
âWho are they?â Hyunjin asked when really all he wanted to ask was: who is this guy?
âFriends. Some I met years ago and some during my missions.â
âAnd him?â Hyunjin ended up pointing at the mysterious guy. Was he another of your friends? He looked too comfortable with you, too touchy, too close.
Your face softened at the picture. âMy cousin and the only family left. Heâs a pain in my ass but I love him.â
Did Hyunjin feel a little dumb for believing he was something more? Yeah. But was he also relieved? Hell yes. He almost wept in relief. He didnât dare to look at you, scared you would see the emotions written all over his face. But if he thought he could hide from you, he was once more wrong. You saw how tensed he was before he found out the identity of the guy and you didnât forget his behaviour in his office.
You drew nearer, watching him. âTell me, Hwang,â You wrapped your arms around his neck and gently tug at his hair. âDid you think he was my man?â You brushed your lips against his, smiling against him. âYouâre a terrible spy by the way.â
Fuck my life. Hyunjin should have known that his spying skill werenât on par with yours but he still thought he was being discrete. Or maybe he was too caught up in his head when he saw you with your cousin and simply didnât hide well enough.
You bit on his lower lip making him growl. âWere you jealous?â
Hyunjin opened his mouth to protest but closed it as quickly. Who was he kidding? He was jealous and you both knew it.
You laughed fondly and pecked his lips once more before going back to the kitchen without a word.
Jisung was right. He was completely and utterly whipped for you.
***
When Namjoon asked to see him, Hyunjin almost expected another meeting with you. Yet, this time around he was the only one to come. Was it an ominous sign? Maybe but Hyunjin refused to think about it. The past week was incredible. It seemed that the universe was finally smiling at him. Or maybe he got lucky. Either way, he was thriving.
A lead in his case. Many nights tangled up in your sheets. Many stolen kisses. Many giggles. Everything to be happy.
âShould I worry?â Namjoon asked as he eyed him. âYou look too happy.â He added seeing his confused face.
Hyunjin bit the inside of his cheek to hold back his smile and shook his head.
Namjoon quirked a brow but didnât comment. He pushed some papers instead towards him. Hyunjin leaned closer and took a look. He stiffened as he saw the names mentioned on the papers.
âWhat the,â Hyunjin stopped himself on time. His eyes darted back and forth between what clearly was the contract between the crows and Park Minjun. âHow?â But Hyunjin had a feeling, he already knew how. The image of you and blood on your clothes popped in his mind. It had to be you.
âY/N brought it yesterday. Along with the list of people the crows wanted to sell the weapons too.â Namjoon explained and relaxed in his seat. âI have everything I need for the next step. Which also means the two of you donât need to work together anymore.â
Hyunjinâs stomach sank at his words. Of course, it was bound to happen sooner or later and it shouldnât worry him so much now that he was spending more time with you without even talking about work. But then, he was with you last night, you could have told him. But you didnât. Why?
Namjoon observed him in silence. He expected Hyunjin to be happy to finally be free of you and your temper, but he guessed easily he was wrong. âYou seem disappointed.âÂ
âI-â Hyunjin began and stopped himself. Disappointed was an understatement but he couldnât tell him that. Instead, he cleared his throat and straightened his back. âNo, Iâm good.âÂ
âIs that so?â Namjoon wasnât convinced but didnât insist, it wasnât his business. âBut in case youâre wondering, Y/N asked for few days off. You wonât see her around.âÂ
***
Hyunjin had a bad feeling that had everything to do with the damn contract you had brought to Namjoon. You kept doing things on your own, things that clearly were dangerous if not impossible to accomplish. And yet, you somehow managed to pull it off. Did you get help? Did you somehow manage to infiltrate the crows? Or maybe you had someone inside who was willing to take a huge risk for you. There were so many possible theories in his mind. One thing was sure, he needed to make sure you werenât in trouble.Â
Like any normal person, Hyunjin tried calling you. Once, twice. Ten times and with no result. It was his first clue that something he didnât know about was going on. Then, he called Jisung. He didnât want to overstep some boundaries but he couldnât ignore how his worries were consuming him from inside.Â
Thankfully, Jisung didnât send him straight to his voicemail. âWhatever it is, I canât help you.â As if Jisung knew from the start why he was calling.
Hyunjinâs nostrils flared at his words. âWhere is she?âÂ
âWho?âÂ
âMy mother.â Hyunjin snapped. It wasnât in his character to snap at people and especially not at his friends but his patience was running thin. âY/N. Who else?âÂ
âNo clue, why?âÂ
Hyunjin took a deep breath, clenched his fist and counted to ten. Why did it need to be so damn complicated? âJisung. Youâre a terrible liar. You have tabs on everyone. Even Namjoon. So tell me, where is she?â
Jisung gasped loudly, offended that he would use his little secret against him. âI do-â
âPlease.â Hyunjin cut him. âI just need to make sure sheâs okay.âÂ
âI promise you sheâs more than okay.â Jisung tried to appease him.
âJisung.â
âYou canât call me every time you need help with her! Iâm also her friend and it sucks to be stuck between you two.â
Hyunjin winced at his words that felt like a slap. Jisung was right. And Hyunjin did feel bad about it. Except, when it came to you, he became a selfish bastard. âAnd Iâm sorry for that. But please, help me out.â
âSheâs going to have my head.â Jisung grumbled more to himself than to Hyunjin, but despite his words, Hyunjin heard him doing his little magic trick on his computer. Â

Getting inside a bar, unnoticed, in the middle of the day was harder than Hyunjin had imagined. And just maybe he had overestimated his spying skills. Again. The first person to notice him was the barman; he stared at him with a quirked brow, clearly curious with Hyunjinâs little game. Hyunjin expected him to say something and maybe call the securityâ he didnât. He shrugged as if he didnât care, as if it wasnât his business.
Hyunjin was not complaining with his little luck.
âIâm not having this conversation with you.â Hyunjin recognized your voice instantly. He found you at the other side of the room, heading to the hall along with two other men. And boy you looked pissed. He didnât know what these men did to offend you, but he bet they were about to spend a very bad time with you.
Any other day, Hyunjin would have felt sympathy for these poor men, but then, Hyunjin really looked at them. One face, he was familiar with. A man he recognized from an old case; he had been a suspect but because of lack of proof he was still a free man. Why are you with him, Y/N?
Curiosity got the best of him; Hyunjin followed you, trying not to make any sound.
âHeâs furious.â The second man commented, sounding nervous as he spoke.
âI donât see how itâs my problem.â You completely disregarded his worries.
âY/N, you donât understand. Heâs ready to shoot us all if we donât confess-â He tried again but you raised your hand, without even looking at him, and it was enough to shut him up.
Hyunjin had to admit it; he was impressed with how your whole body radiated with authority and power. They obeyed you as if they were scared of what you could possibly do to them if they utter one more wrong word.
âAnd I think,â A voice echoed right from behind Hyunjin. He realized too late that while he thought he was being discrete, someone else had spotted him and had a gun pointed right at his head. Shit.
âYou should have this conversation somewhere else.â The man behind him finished.
You glanced over your shoulder. Instead of freezing on the spot or calling for him, you simply stared blankly at them. For once, Hyunjin couldnât read you, couldnât tell how you felt about seeing him here. And maybe it worried him a little. Whatever you were doing, he wondered if it was on Namjoonâs behalf. Would you compromise your mission to help him out?
âWalk.â The man behind him gave him a nudge, forcing Hyunjin to get closer to you.
Hyunjin tried to keep his cool, tried not to show how he truly felt but his heart was beating fast and loud inside his chest.
Hyunjin was shoved inside a room. He barely had time to react and to steady himself that a man punched him in the stomach. He stumbled and cursed under his breath. Maybe following you wasnât his brightest idea after all. Despite the pain, he managed to have a proper look at you. To others, you looked cold, but he saw how your body was tense, your fists clenched. You werenât indifferent after all and this small fact comforted him.
âWhat should we do with him?â One of them asked, eying you as if you were the one to decide.
âWe should kill him.â Another suggested as he pointed at Hyunjin with his gun. Someone was eager to get rid of him. Hyunjin would be lying if he said he wasnât at least a little bit worried for his safety. If you didnât intervene, he would have to fight his way out.
Too concentrated on you, Hyunjin didnât pay any attention to the other three men. He should have. One of them closed the distance between them and drove his knee into the back of Hyunjinâs, forcing him to the ground. Hyunjin groaned, his instincts wanting him to fight back â he didnât. No, Hyunjinâs whole attention was only on you.
âWho sent you?â One of them crunched to his level but despite his closeness, Hyunjinâs eye were still on you. That, didnât go unnoticed. The man punched his face, not liking Hyunjinâs behavior. âI asked you a question.â
âWhat make you think someone sent me?â Hyunjin finally answered but still was not looking at him. He was watching you. And only you. He didnât want to miss any flinch, any twitch of your eyes, every twitch in your jaw. He wanted to see how you reacted to the violence. See if you cared. âHave you seen this lady?â Hyunjin pointed at you. âWhat make you think that Iâm not here because of her? Because she had me completely bewitched?â
The man scoffed and straightened up. âThis bastard is crazy.â
The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Nobody talked. Hyunjin because there was nothing left to say. You, because you were staring back at him. As for the men, they felt there was something going on but couldnât understand it.
âLeave us.â You ordered without looking at the men.
âY/N. You donât have time. Boss wants to see you.â One of them reminded you.
The only sign of your annoyance was your clenched jaw but you still werenât looking at them.
âDonât make me repeat myself.â You warned them.
But they werenât listening to you. Or maybe they didnât know you well enough not to push you. âLet us deal with him.â
A knife flew straight to the manâs shoulder making him cry out in pain and stumble.
âIll deal with him and then Iâll meet with boss.â You assured them with one deadly glare. âNow, get lost.â
And this time, they did.
Hyunjin had hoped you would drop your act with their absence, that you would explain yourself â except you didnât. You stared at him with annoyance and already another knife in your hand.
Hyunjin got back on his feet. He wished he could come closer to you, could wrap his arms around you and make sure that everything was fine. But for once, he listened to the little voice in his head, telling him to stay alert. It wasnât over yet.
âThey respect you.â He commented.
You shrugged and your eyes darted on your knife. âThey do. Most of the time.â
âWho are they, Y/N?â Hyunjin wasnât sure he wanted the answer to his question.
âIdiots working for the crows.â
Hyunjinâs breath hitched in his throat. âAnd their boss wants to see you.â
You tuck the knife back in your boot and took a deep breath. The situation couldnât get any worse, but it somehow did. âYes.â
There was one question that Hyunjin should be asking. One question that was right on the tip of his tongue and yet, he couldnât do it. Asking it would complicate things.
âAsk it, Hyunjin.â As you grew nearer, Hyunjinâs heart beat faster. The way you looked at him, the way your body moved â it screamed danger. You halted right before him. Gently, you stroked his cheek.
Hyunjin didnât want to ask because now he knew, the moment you would give him your answer; his bubble of happiness would burst for good. He did it anyway. âAre you working for the crows?â
Please, say no.
âYes.â
Hyunjin barely had time to hear your answer. To understand it. Everything turned black.
Rage nearly consumed you.
Hyunjin shouldnât have been here. He shouldnât have been seen by these idiots. The moment Jun had pointed his gun at Hyunjin, you had to fight the need to step in and damn the consequences. But then, when Doyun forced Hyunjin on his knees, the urge to hurt someone got so strong, you werenât sure what compelled you to keep your composure. From outside you had looked indifferent, cold, but inside? You were screaming and burning with the urge to kill and get Hyunjin far from this damn place. Â
You were late and judging by how anxious the guys were, you could only imagine in what kind of mood the boss was. But you didnât care. Not when another man occupied all your thoughts.
You pulled your phone from your pocket and dialed Jisungâs number. You prayed for his own good that he wouldnât make you wait and answer the god damn phone. There was only one, insufferable person, who could have told Hyunjin where you were.
He answered. âListen,â Jisung tried but you didnât let him talk.
âShut up! You little piece of shit!â You yelled, your grip on your phone was so strong, you wouldnât be surprised if it cracked. âWhat were you thinking, Jisung?â
Jisung sighed on the other side. He had been your friend long enough to know that whatever excuses he would try to give you, in this state, you wouldnât listen. You wouldnât care. âHello to you too, sunshine.â He chose to say instead.
He had a dead wish. âDonât.â you warned him with a growl.
âY/NâŚâ
âWhat were you thinking?â You repeated again.
There was a loud noise from Jisungâs side, as if he had either pushed something or maybe smashed it. âHe was worried, ok? What were you expecting me to tell him?â
âAnything! What if I was with my uncle?â You refused to imagine what could have possibly happened but your brain still did it. You closed your eyes, wanting to erase the image from your mind but it wouldnât go. You kept seeing Hyunjin and the damn gun.
Your hand shook and at any moment you could let go of your phone. âHe would have killed him on the spot, Ji. No question asked.â
Jisung didnât say anything for a moment, proceeding your words. âAnd it bothers you?â
âOf course, it does!â The moment those words left your mouth, you realized two things: one, how true they sounded and two, you regretted admitting it to Jisung out of all people. You adored your friend, but he was noisy and would make sure to remind you every day your confession.
âOh Y/N,â Jisung cooed, forgetting for a second that you were in a sour mood. âDo you actually like Hyunjin?â
Yes. But you held back those words. He didnât need to know it. âYouâre next on my shit list.â And you hung up.
He wasnât really on your list. Would probably never be, but you didnât mind him worrying over it.
You stared at your phone for a moment, considering your next step. The reasonable thing to do would go and meet with the boss as it was expected of you but one glance at the door behind you and your resolution wavered. You couldnât leave Hyunjin unattended. You couldnât let someone find him and hurt him.
Fuck it.
You opened your conversation with Chris and quickly texted him.
âI need your help.â
***
Your uncle was indeed incredibly pissed. Not that you expected anything less and not that you could blame him. After all, he had been working on his little project for a year, making sure that everybody was on board with his plan. Making sure to drive Park Minjun in a corner, leaving him with no choice but beg for his help. And what help. A shitty contract. The control of his business in exchange for safety. If only he knew that his current situation was because of him.
Lee Beomseok, your uncle, and the boss of the crows. A man known for his business, for his methods, for his cruelty and zero bullshit policy. He was respected and feared in the underground world. Sometimes, you were impressed with his accomplishment. But most of the times, you wanted to see his world burn.
âConfess!â He yelled at the poor, shaking man at his feet. So maybe Jun wasnât exaggerating when he said your uncle had finally lost it and started killing every suspect, even if it meant killing his own men.
âPlease.â The man begged, his shaking only intensifying as your uncle pressed the gun harder to his head. âItâs not me. I would ne-â But your uncle didnât give a damn about his talk of loyalty. He shot the poor man in the head.
You whistled, leaning against the wall with your arms crossed over your chest, a look of indifference on your face. âSomeone is in a mood.â
You didnât think his face could get any angrier but it did. The veins in his neck were showing, his face red. âLeave us!â he barked.
Nobody protested, they scurried away in fright.
Your uncle stared at you, his breath shallow. He kept clenching and unclenching his fists, probably trying to calm himself down. You werenât one of his men, his outbursts didnât faze you. Not anymore. You werenât ten anymore and he knew it.
âYou were supposed to lead them astray.â He said after a moment of silence. He walked to his chair and took seat.
âI did.â You reminded him without bothering to look at him, instead you checked your nails, knowing damn well that your lack of reaction would only fuel his anger. Maybe it amused you a little to see him in this state, his composure long forgotten.
âY/N.â He warned you.
âWhat?â You sighed and looked at him, âItâs not my fault if someone gave them your stupid contract and the list. How did you even manage to lose it?â Were you enjoying yourself reminding him his own failures? Absolutely.
You noticed how his left eye twitched at your words, you bet he wanted to grab his gun and shot you on the spot â he wouldnât. After years of working for him, you knew he valued you too much to kill you.
He slumped further into his chair. âIâm still looking for the fucker who dared to betray me.â
You pushed yourself of the wall and took seat. âWhere did you keep it?â
He looked at you, annoyed. âWhere do you think?â
âYour safe then. Not many people know where you hide it.â You noted, âMaybe, instead of shooting all your poor men, you should look into your closest circle.â Not that he would find the traitor among them but you wouldnât mind seeing him kill some of his trusted men.
He considered your advice for a moment and nodded his head. âWhen I find the traitor, Iâll make him pay his mistake.â He promised.
Except he would never find the traitor. For two simple reasons. One, he underestimated his own son too much and two you made sure while Yeonjun was helping you to steal from his old daddy, Jisung erased all traces of him ever being present in this place.
âDo you need my help?â
Your uncle shook his head. âNo. I need you to take care of some business partners who became too bold.â
Of course, the answer to all his problems was always to kill.
âHow should I deal with them?â
âDo what you do best.â
A small smile spread on your face. His order was clear. But there was something else you were better at. He just didnât know it yet.
Hyunjin woke up with his head killing him. It took him a moment to force his eyes to open. He tried to straighten himself in the bed, only to groan in pain. Fuck my life. He palmed his forehead, trying to sooth the pain.
It took him another five minutes to notice his surroundings.
A room. A very unfamiliar room. And then everything flashed through his mind.
The bar. You. The crows. You. Him almost dying because he cared too much. Him being an idiot. You. A damn spy right under their noses.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
His head was no longer the only thing that hurt. His chest. His heart clenching so tightly, he thought he could die. Hyunjin couldnât breathe properly with all the thoughts and images running wild in his head. And yet, with his panic came one realization.
He was still alive.
Hyunjin forced his breath to slow down and had a proper look at his surroundings. It was clear to him that he was no longer in the bar. The room was too nice and looked to expensive. Had he been taken prisoner?
Hyunjin climbed off the bed and slowly approached the door, expecting that any second someone would pop out of nowhere and attack him and finish the job.
None of that happened.
He tried the door and surprisingly it was unlocked which left Hyunjin even more confused. Was he not a prisoner? Why would they let him roam free? With this thought on mind, he left his room, trying not to make any sound until he was certain that he wasnât in danger.
Hyunjinâs confusion grew with every step he took. The place he was being held in was really too nice and looked expensive. He quickly realized it wasnât a house but a damn penthouse. Would the crows keep him in a place like this? He doubted.
Instead of finding a stranger or you, Hyunjin found Chris on his phone, wearing comfortable clothes. That was not how he expected things to turn out.
âOh. Good, youâre awake.â Chris offered him a comforting smile. âHowâs your head?â
Hyunjin opened his mouth and closed it right away. He didnât know what to say, what to ask. Nothing made sense anymore. He went for the easy answer, âIâll survive.â
Chris hummed. âShe didnât need to smash your head so hard. But then again, itâs Y/N weâre talking about.â
âWhy am I alive?â Hyunjin asked. It was the question that had been plaguing his mind the most.
Chris looked confused for a second. He cocked his brow, âWhy shouldnât you be?â
Because you had betrayed them all. Because while Hyunjin was slowly falling in love, you were only using him as a distraction and a means to an end. And yet, despite your harsh words, he was alive and safe. It bothered him and left him with even more questions.
âBecause none of it was real.â Hyunjin finally admitted.
Chris got back on his feet and slowly approached him. âYouâre alive because most of it was real.â
Hyunjin wanted to protest but Chris was right. He was alive which had to mean something. âYou knew.â He said instead.
âWhich part exactly?â
âThat I couldnât be her husband. And that sheâs working for the crows.â The first time Hyunjin had met Chris, he had thought the man was suspicious because there was something going on between him and you. But maybe, he was wrong. Maybe, it had everything to do with Chris knowing exactly who you were.
âI had my suspicions for the husband part. But honestly, knowing Y/N, I wouldnât be completely surprised either. As for the last part.â Chris paused and for a second it seemed to Hyunjin that he was somewhere else, lost in a memory. But then, his smile widened, his dimples showing up. âYes. I wouldnât have met her otherwise. She saved my ass.â
Chris put his hand on Hyunjinâs shoulder and gave it a strong yet comforting squeeze. âI think you know by now that our little Y/N is a little crazy and dangerous. She has been working her ass off to get what she wants. She was ready to sacrifice everything and everybody in exchange for her revenge. But not you.â
It was obvious by now that Chris knew everything about you. It would have bothered him another time, but now it comforted him more than he was willing to admit. Your betrayal still left him confused and hurt, but he found solace in his words.
Chrisâs eyes softened while observing him. âShe asked me to get you out and keep you safe for a while. But I figured youâd need some company, so I called for back-ups. They should arrive shortly.â
****
When Chris mentioned back-ups, Hyunjin didnât think much of it, mainly because he had no clue who could help him out. Turns out, Chris knew exactly who Hyunjin needed to see. How he knew Jisung, Hyunjin could guess. But Namjoon? That was a whole new mystery for him to figure out.
âDude, you look like shit.â Jisung commented and playfully patted his cheeks.
Hyunjin swatted his hands away from his face. He should probably feel concerned that Jisung kept telling him how bad he looked, but he was too tired and not in the mood for his playfulness. âOh, fuck you.â
If he thought Jisung would be offended, he was wrong. Jisung chuckled and glanced at Chris, sharing a knowing look. âSounds a lot like her.â
Namjoon sighed. âI think I need a drink. Or two.â As if Chris had sensed his need, he brought him a glass of what looked like whiskey and a second one for himself. âThank you. Did you hear from her?â
Chris shook his head as he took a sip. âNot since I confirmed her I retrieved Hyunjin from the bar.â
While they talked, Hyunjin listened and watched. They all seemed so relaxed, unbothered and friendly with each other. And Hyunjin just couldnât understand why. He never would have guessed that Jisung and Namjoon would actually meet outside of work. Scratch that, he wasnât even aware they talked, despite Namjoon being their boss.
Sensing Hyunjinâs eyes on him, Namjoon stopped talking and instead approached him. âI have something for you.â He took out his phone and shoved it into his hands. âItâs all the information I have on Y/N.â
Hyunjin hesitated for only a second. Or maybe two. He started reading, surprised Namjoon had so much on her. After his encounter with you, Hyunjin didnât know what to expect but every word he read about you made his heart clench painfully. A happy family torn apart by a terrible accident which left you an orphan at such young age.
âLee Beomseok is her uncle. He took her in after her parentsâ death.â Namjoon stopped his reading. âInstead of giving her a loving family, he raised her to become a killer. His personal weapon.â
No wonder they respected and feared her so much.
âHe made sure she was the best at everything. And she is.â Namjoon continued, âBut despite knowing how clever she was, he underestimated her.â
Hyunjin could barely imagine what life was for you. You were just a child, grieving, and yet forced to become something that was not in your nature. Hyunjinâs heart ached for your lost childhood, for the little girl turned into a killer for someoneâs greediness.
âWhat changed?â Hyunjin asked. They hadnât confirmed him that you werenât a villain in the story, but it was implied.
âShe found out he killed her parents.â Chris was the one to answer his question.
âWhat?â Hyunjin couldnât believe it.
Namjoon nodded, confirming Chrisâs words. âBeing the closest to him, she could have easily killed him. But Y/N plays the long game. When he asked her to infiltrate our ranks, she saw it as an opportunity.â
âAnd you let her?â Hyunjin had a hard time believing that. Namjoon seemed as someone who always went by the rules. But apparently, Hyunjin was wrong once again.
âOh believe me, I wanted to arrest her the moment she told me who she was.â Namjoon confessed, his eyes on his glass as he swirled the whiskey around in his glass, a small smile on his face. âBut she was hella convincing.â
Yeah, he bet you were.
***
When Jisung and Namjoon left, Hyunjin returned to his room. He needed some time alone, even if he appreciated Chrisâs company and willingness to answer almost all his questions. He needed to think, to proceed with all the information he had heard tonight about you.
Tonight, Hyunjin realized just how strong you were. Not only physical strength but also mentally. You managed to hide all your hatred, anger and resentment for years for the man only to have a chance to watch his empire crumble. But also, he admired how despite all the ugliness and death you had witnessed through the years, you still saw the good in people and the world.
Only one question remained. What of you two?
Before Hyunjin could dwell on the matter, he heard familiar voices from afar. Your voice. You were back and safe. It should have been enough for him, for now. But no. Bewitched, he followed your voice.
âYou should talk to him.â Chris advised you.
You disregarded your jacket along with your gun and few knives. âThatâs not a good idea.â
You didnât look like yourself. Your hair was a mess. Dark circles under your eyes. He wondered how long he had been unconscious because you looked exhausted and unsteady. At least, you werenât hurt.
Chris sighed and ruffled his hair in frustration. âStop being a coward.â You snarled in response, eyes shooting daggers. But Chris wasnât impressed with your attempt at intimidating him. âYou care for him and he cares for you. Donât run away from something good in your life.â
âMe caring for someone never ends well.â You whispered and avoided his eyes.
âI disagree.â Chris put his hands on your shoulders and gave it a squeeze. âYeonjun would disagree too.â
âYou know it will put a target on his back.â You protested.
Hyunjin decided that you should have this conversation with him and not Chris. He couldnât hide his presence any longer. âI think; I have a say in this.â
Chris didnât seem surprised seeing him in the room. Or maybe he had spotted him from the beginning and was trying to make you confess so Hyunjin would know how you truly felt. You, on the other hand, froze on the spot. You couldnât look at him.
Chris walked to Hyunjin, patted his back and smiled. âGood luck.â
Yeah, he would need it.
For a while, you looked everywhere but at him. It annoyed Hyunjin that you wouldnât look at him, wouldnât talk to him. After everything they went through together, he didnât think you would try to avoid a confrontation.
Hyunjin considered what he should say. Ask about your life with the crows? Ask about your family? Or should he just ask what he meant to you? Now, he knew that you cared more than you were willing to admit and this thought comforted him. Not everything was a lie. Not everything was a game.
âNamjoon told me your story.â Hyunjin finally said and started walking toward you.
That got a reaction from you. Your eyes widened in surprise. âNamjoon was here?â
Hyunjin nodded. âChris called Namjoon and Jisung. He figured Iâd need their help to understand.â And then another step toward you. But you, you took a step back, trying to keep the distance between the two of you. As if it would stop Hyunjin.
More you tried to escape and more it amused him. Until there was nowhere else to go. You had your back pressed to the wall and Hyunjin stood right before you, giving you no choice but to look at him.
âStop it.â You put your hands on his chest and gave it a push. He didnât budge. âHyunjin.â
âIâm sorry he stole your childhood.â He said instead. His voice soft. Compassionate.
You averted your eyes. You didnât want to see the emotions in his eyes. You didnât want him to convince you there was a something out there for the two of you. âDonât be.â
âYou deserve to be happy too, Y/N.â
âIâll be happy if you stay away from me.â You snapped and looked at him. The need to push him away was strong but the moment your eyes locked, your heart missed a beat. Despite your outburst, Hyunjin was smiling fondly at you. âThereâs something incredibly wrong with you, Hwang.â
Hyunjin chuckled, agreeing with you. He leaned closer, his lips hovering over yours. âYouâre a very bad influence.â
You sucked in a breath. âEven more reasons for you to stay away from me.â
He hummed. His lips brushed yours, so lightly, it could have been your imagination. âI donât want to. And I donât think you really want me to either.â And then another press of his lips, this time a little stronger. âYou canât get rid of me now.â
âIâm going to kick you.â You threatened. You would do no such things. Not when he kissed the corner of your mouth. âOr punch you.â You sounded less and less convincing. With every small kiss, your resolution crumbled.
But then he stopped. Hyunjin grabbed your chin, his grip strong. âYouâre not getting rid of me, Y/N.â
âWhen did you get so bold?â
âWhen I realized I fell for you.â Hyunjin admitted. There was no point denying it. No point hiding it. Despite knowing now everything you had done, some terrible things to get what you wanted, Hyunjin couldnât deny how he felt. Couldnât unsee the good person hiding in you. âThatâs why, my lovely, murderous, Y/N, thereâs no getting rid of me.â
Slowly, you pushed yourself from the wall and wrapped your arms around his neck. âYou are in trouble, Hwang.â
âWorth it.â

punk! miguel x innocent! reader
word count: 879
TW: nsfw, smoking, hair-pulling, corruption, swearing, creampie.
request: @sukioyakio â
A/N: this isn't edited and is poorly made so i'm so sorry. also can i just say thank you so much for over 600 notes on my first drabble?? oh my gosh?? anyways, enjoy and welcome to the club! ^^
imagine punk! miguel being the 'bad rep' of the school. in the 3rd year of college, he took physics, chemistry and spanish language. he would smoke behind the science classrooms, refuse to wear clothes that he calls 'society norms' like a blazer or a button up, and instead wear a black leather jacket with pins like 'pink floyd', or 'anarchist' all around it. he would yell, slander and mock almost every teacher whenever he's in class (which is very rare).
most of the girls honestly adored him, apart from the odd popular girl or two finding him too 'annoying' or too 'muscly' for their liking. he didn't give two shits, he already knew his body count was probably higher then their grades.
but then there's you. sweet, innocent little y/n. where most college students spent their weekends partying, you spent it in your dorm room re-reading 'moby dick' for the 6th time. you took phsycology, english literature and spanish language. and if you were completely honest, the only reason you chose spanish language is because your boyfriend at the time (now ex) was spanish. god, did you regret picking it for him.
you noticed miguel, like every other person in the school would. but your first time was different. you were running late, extremely late for your first class of the day. damn you, alarm. that's when you noticed miguel, outside science block, groaning.
despite being late, you took a curious peek at what the man was groaning about.
'stupid fucking lighter..' he mumbled, trying to light his cigarette, but failing. you knew better then to interfere, to even speak to the most intimidating man in college. but, for some reason, you ended up giving him your lighter.
'thanks, you smoke? i can give you one for a trade.' miguel said, as you smiled so sweetly. you explained how you didn't smoke, or did anything like that, and that you only carried a lighter 'just in case of emergencies'.
that's when miguel's interest in you piqued. you were such a sweet, innocent girl, and that drove something in him. something that he didn't realise he wanted. he usually only went for girls with his taste and style, girls he'd meet at festivals or clubs and were either high as heck or sexy goths. but you, you were different.
soon enough, he realised you were only in his spanish language classes, and that you weren't the best at it. perfect. your weakness was miguel's strength.
that's how you ended up in this situation. bent over miguell's desk in his dorm, mumbling his name as hee proceeded to sbuse his way into your sweet cunt.
'you want to tutor me..? that would be so nice miguel!' you had said so excitedly, there was a spanish exam coming up and miguel so kindly offered to tutor you the friday night. and being so naive and quite desperate for the help, you happily accepted.
his room was filled with different posters and signs like his favourite bands, anarchistic posters, stickers saying things like 'fuck the government!'. his leather jacket was discarded somewhere on the messy floor, as his hands grasped your hips to push you even deeper onto his cock.
'm-miguel.. m-miguel please!' you whined, your mascara running down your face.
he just chuckled, as he pulled your hair lightly, moving you onto the bed as he laid you down on your back, as he started bullying into your pussy once again. he was so mean.
your light blue dress was somewhere on the floor, ripped to shreds. it was your favourite dress, but you had other things to think about at the moment.
'yeah.. you like that, cariĂąo? you like being fucked like a slut? not used to being so used, are you?' miguel teased, as you just moaned in response. he hadn't realised that fucking a cute little angel could be this enticing. fuck, he could get used to this.
'i.. miguel! i-i've never-' 'shh.. i know, i know, a sweet girl like you hasn't ever been treated this way.. i'm sorry for being so rough, but i dunno.. the way you're tightening around me suggests you like the harshness..' he said, his hand wiping your mascara-smudged cheeks. your body was submitting to him in every way possible, and he felt like a starved predator being fed for the first time in years.
'i-is it normal to feel l-like this..?' you whimpered, eyes shut from the pleasure. 'yes.. yes my sweet girl it's very normal to feel like this.. let me give you all the pleasure you've missed out on.' miguel whispered in your ear, as he started thrusting faster and faster, pushing you over to the edge.
you let out a loud moan, your back arching as you came. the way you clenched onto him drove miguel over the edge too. his thrusts became erratic and sloppy, as he let out one more groan as he came deep inside you.
you were panting, your eyes still shut. he pulled out slowly, placing a sweet kiss on your temple. 'god you're so cute..' miguel whispered to you, as you just whimpered in response. he chuckled deeply.
god, he might just get addicted to such a good innocent little thing like you.

Nerdy - James Potter
TW: female!reader
You were very happy when Slughorn paired you with Remus Lupin for the potions class. You always thought he was nice and very interesting, so without surprise you two got along very well very quikly. You were both big readers and would often meet at the library to chat about lots of things. It was therefore natural for him to introduce you to his group of friend, the Marauders.
You weren't stressed to meet them, but you had to admit you weren't too excited either. You only saw them as pranksters with no respects for rules and others. That's why you were very surprise when you realize how sweet and fun they were to be around in reality the first time to met them at the Three Broomsticks.
Sirius was, at your opinion, the funniest. He just seemed so chill around his friends and he was very welcomming to you, despite the clear contrast between you and him. Though he was a real tease all the time, especially with Remus you had notice...
Peter was completly different from the others. The boy was so sweet with everyone, you loved playing chess with him. He reminded you of a little bunny, always a bit nervous and jumpy around every person that are not his three best friends.
And finally James, he was a clichĂŠ for real. The guy was Quidditch captain, built like a rock, with messy hair and cocky smirks. He was all you should have despise, but you just couldn't. He was just so kind and safe to be around, somehow. He wasn't at all like he seemed, he had an ego as big as the Dark Lack but a heart to match it. To be honest the boy was very intrigued by you.
You looked like a little nerd, a cute bookworm who avoided people and spend her time in the library. And that was kind of true. But at the same time you were also feisty like a lion and as cocky as him. That's the thing that caught James eyes the first time you met him.
- And that's how we won. It was a crazy match, you should have seen it. James explained their last Quidditch match with energy to you and Remus.
- Yeah, it was all strategy. It's thanks to Prongs that we won, he's the one who got the idea to fake a fall from the broom to caught their attentions. Sirius said as he pass an arm around his friend's shoulders.
- Really? Crazy, I thought you athletes didn't have anything in your heads. You giggle with a mischievous grin. James raises his eyebrows as a playful smile grow on his lips.
- Oh is that so? 'Cause you know everything about life with your nose buried in your books all day, huh? He spoke back but not in a mean way.
- Well at least I know other things than how to fly on a broomsticks. You said with a cocky smirk as you lean toward him. He was sat across you at the table.
- At least I know how to get on a broomstick. He lean toward you aswell, putting his elbows on the wood table.
- At least I knod how to read. You defy with a wide grin.
- Ah got me there nerdy. He chuckle and pass his hand in his messy brown hair. You giggle, kind of enjoying this nickname for the first time.
Surprisingly you and him became kind of friends quite quikly and that was thanks to James really. After only your first meeting with the boys, the Potter would come talk to you in the common room like you knew him for years.
- Hey nerdy, how you doin' here? You hear a deep voice behind you and turn to meet James brown eyes behind his round glasses. He's standing behind the couch you were sat on, his elbows resting on the back of it.
- Hum fine. You're not with the guys? You ask him, a bit puzzled that he's talking to you so casually.
- Nah, they're all outside. He shrugs his shoulders with a side smile.
You narrow your eyes at the Quidditch player, wondering if a prank is being pulled on you or if he needs to ask you something about homeworks. But he just came to sit down next to you and ask you questions about the book in your hands.
- Oh so the cakes can make her grow big or small, s'that right?
- Yes, exactly! You say a little too eagerly. That makes James smile grow bigger as he looks into your eyes.
- This 'Wonderland' sounds very strange. He giggled, resting his chin into the palm of his hand.
- It is, but the book is very good. I think it's actually one of my favorite muggle story. You say with passion in your eyes, you just love talking about your interests. And James begin to think that he could listen to you talking about this Alice and hee White Rabbit all day long.
- You read lots of muggle books, don't you?
- Yeah, since my parents are muggles they showed me all the muggle's classics but nobody ever showed me the wizard's classics. You chuckle as James' smile grew even wider at your words.
- Maybe I could! If you want I mean, we could go to Hogsmeade and I'll show you a cute magic library. He says as he sit up, his eyes almost sparkling.
- I mean I'd love that, thank you. You smile softly to him, a happy smile on your lips.
- No problem nerdy. I love feeding your knowledge.
So you went to Hogsmeade together the next week-end, just the two of you. It was already january and the wizard village was covered by a thin thickness of snow. With your woolen hat on youe head, you were walking next to the tall frame of the Quidditch player. You were laughing warmly at his playful banter about you having your nose red from the cold. You two enter then the cute library he had told you about. It was called 'Birdy&co'. As soon as your foot brush the floor your eyes light up.
- By Merlin, James this is amazing.
It was. The place was even bigger on the inside, everything was in old and dark wood with blue carpet everywhere.
- The owner is an old Ravenclaw student.
James whisper in your ear with a smile as he sees you look all around you.
- Yeah, I bet he's still very supportive of his house. You giggle and walk further into the library.
James let you look at all the books you want. You're amazed by the covers that move alone like on the newspaper. You're like a child at Christmas, going from a book to the other with heart eyes.
- Oh look this one James, it's talking! You claim happily as you grab his large hand in yours and pull him with you. The boy is a bit surprise but chukle and don't say anything, let his hand where it is in your hold.
- Oh Merlin, this one looks so cool... You mumble in owe.
- It is, I've read it several times. James informs you with a tender smile. You raise your eyebrows.
- You read it? Many times? You ask dumbfounded. The book was big, like really big.
- Yeah brainless athletes also read, nerdy. He replies you playfully. You giggle and shake your head amused.
- You know I don't actually think you're dumb. You admit softly with the sweetest and more genuine smile he ever seen in seventeen years.
- I know don't worry. He smiles back as he takes a step toward you. And you know... I could teach you how to play Quidditch. He says with a little smirk.
- Oh god no, never.
- Ah you'll see, one day I will put you on one of those broomstick, nerdy. He chuckles.
Everyone in the school that knew you a bit was surprise to see a nerd like you becomming close to James Potter. Of course James didn't care at all. On the opposite he thought you were pretty cool. Maybe even more than just cool.
- What a shame. You hear a low voice behind you as you walk next to James in Hogsmeade. You turn to meet a tall and thin frame with a green tie.
- What did you say Snape? You ask a bit more harshly than you should have. James turn aswell, stop in his track.
- I just think it's a shame you waste your smart mind with those...
- Oh you better not finish this sentence. You warn the Slytherin boy with a deep frown.
- You heard the girl Snevillus. James say and you can hear the smirk in his voice. You feel his arm snaking around your shoulders in a supportive gesture.
Snape click his tongue and narrow his eyes at the two of you before walking away, his eyes throwing thunder. As soon as he leaves James turn to you with a big smile.
- You're incredible!
You giggle at the praise. James squeeze your shoulders and pull you with him as he walks down, keeping you close.
- Let's get you an ice cream as a reward, yeah?
- Can we go to the library after?
- Sure nerdy. James chuckle and ruffle your hair playfully.
As the weeks passed James grew very fond of you, you almost spend more time with him than with Remus. You two would go to 'Birdy&co' almost every week. He will walk you to class, holding your book and staying with you in Hogwarts' library until late at night. You would even help him study for his exams and come to his Quidditch match.
One night as you were asleep in your bed, James was staying with Remus in the Griffindor common room.
- Moony? James repeated for the fourth time.
The werewolf sigh throught the nose as he put his book the coffee table in front of the fireplace of the common room.
- Yes, James?
- Can I ask you a completly selfless question my baby bestie Moony? The boy asked with puppy eyes as he sits up on the loveseat.
- Go ahead. M'not assuring you'll have an answer though.
- Do you know if, maybe, by pure coincidence, Y/N might have hum, how do you call that again? Oh yeah... a crush on a boy?
- What?
- Maybe a girl then?
The glasses boy asks, his cheeks a bit rosy. He was looking all around the room, his legs moving fast.
- Prongs are you nervous? Remus frown confused. He had never seen his friend like that.
- What? No, m'not nervous. He scratch the back oh his neck. Just answer, please. James said his last words with a desesperate expression as he lean forward in the loveseat, his elbows resting on his knees and his hands fidgeting. Remus narrow his eyes at the boy before biting his lips to hold a grin.
- James Fleamont Potter.
James made a little strangle noise, avoiding his friend gaze almost comically.
- Do you have a crush on our friend? Remus ask with a smirk.
- Gosh you made it sound like a kill someone... James mumble with a fake annoyed tone. It's not as if I had fucked Sirius' little brother.
Remus let out a rather loud and mocking chuckle. He pass a hand on his scared face.
- Oh my poor friend, you don't know what you've got yourself into with her.
The werewolf says dramatically as he gets up from the red armchair and pass throught his friend who's sat dumbfounded. His put a hand his shoulder, looking down at hims a half amused and half sympathic smile.
- Good luck Prongs. And... yes she might have a crush on someone.
Remus winks and smirk before making his way to the shared dorm, James' eyes light up with joy.
The very next day you had to meet James at Hogsmeade like usual. You found him nervously pacing in front of the Three Broomsticks.
- Hey Jamie, everything's fine?
Apprently he hadn't seen you since he jumps at the sound of your voice. It makes you both giggle and frown, slightly worried.
- Y/N, hey. Yeah everything's okay.
- You sure? You're acting strangely.
You tell him as he leads you to the 'Birdy&co' library where you always go.
- Yeah yeah, just hum... stress for tomorrow's match is all.
- Oh you shouldn't Jamie, everyone knows you'll do your best.
You bump your elbow with his in a reassuring gesture as you give him a soft smile. He glances at you and quickly look away, scratching the back of his head.
- Yeah you're probably right.
- M'always right. You giggle with a little smirk as James hold the library's door for you. You thank him and step in what had become one of your favorite place.
The glasses boy chuckle and shake his head as he follows you closely. You're looking all around you, searching for interesting new book to read.
- What are you looking for today? James ask, burrying his hands deep into his pockets.
- I don't know yet, maybe something different for once.
- What about romance?
You hear his voice closer than earlier, the heat of his body hitting your back. You can feel your heartbeat suddenly raising a bit.
- W- why not. You stutter and intenally slap yourself.
- Yeah? You have someone in mind those days nerdy? He asks as he steps to your side, his brown eyes looking into yours intensely.
- Hum yes, no, why are you asking? You walk pass him, feeling your cheeks warming.
- Oh nothing, just wondering. You never talk a lot about your feelings.
- I talk about my feelings. You reply back with a little frown.
- Really? Talk then. James smirk playfully. You look away, chewing on your lips.
- I'll go first then, you're important for me darling. I like you. A lot. James raise his eyebrows as he take a step toward you. You stare at his eyes, your face red.
- I- I like you too. You're a very good friend. You mumble embarrassed.
- Friend huh?
You nod and look away, acting like you were studying the books on the shelf beside you.
- What if I say I like you?
- You already said that.
- What if I say I love you then.
You stop in your track, your heart pumping into your ear loudly.
- Are you saying it or do you think it? You ask, your voice suddenly weaker as you stay with your back turn to him.
- Believe me darling, I think it all...
James is closer, his breath brushing your cheek from behind. You try to compose yourself but your mind is racing infernally.
- If this is a prank, it's the least funny you've ever done. You whisper softly.
- I'd never do that to you darling.
You turn toward him, gasping silently when you realize how close he is from you. His tall frame is towering you as his eyes look into yours so deeply, you'd think he's analysing your soul. Eventually, being so speechless you just gently grab the collar of his jumper and pull him to you. Your lips collapse softly in an bashful and wondering kiss.
- I love you too Jamie. You mumble against his lips and James pull you into another kiss. He places his hands on your cheeks, deepening the kiss.

The hero let out a wet groan, pushing themselves up as the blood ran down their side. It was in itself a funny feeling.
It was a good feeling.
Absolutely no one in this rotten city was able to challenge them. Physically, they were stronger. Mentally, they were quicker. And their dedication, their devotion was like a holy prayer that guided them through their nights.
The hero knew it wasn't a good thing - the longing for a challenge, the desire for an opponent that could actually make them a better fighter. It was a dangerous wish and they had to remind themselves regularly why they were doing this job in the first place.
To do good. To be good. Not to find someone who was their very own nemesis.
However, with the villain's boot on their ribs and that brutal nature of theirs, the hero was struggling not to find this utterly satisactory.
"Yeah, right there," the hero wheezed. "Make me scream."
The villain tilted their head and tutted, nearly bored of the hero's games. They let out a sigh and grabbed the hero's hair, yanking them up.
Another wheeze.
And the villain crouched, holding the hero by their hair. Very close. Very intimate.
"Do you think I am stupid?" the villain asked. Their lips brushed the hero's ear and despite the pain, or maybe because of it, the hero could only concentrate on the adrenaline rushing through their body.
"No," the hero said. They had to grin. Sometimes, they wished they could devour the villain, that they could change them and ultimately, that they could control them.
The hero knew it wasn't right. They knew it wasn't good. But they had never felt this kind of obsession towards anyone. In previous relationships, they hadn't gotten jealous, they hadn't gotten angry. They had never struggled like this. They had never doubted themselves like this.
"I know your dirty little secret," the villain said. "I know you like me. You like this."
"I didn't try to hide it," the hero said.
"Not from me. But the public."
"What are you trying to...?"
"Oh, poor hero," the villain murmed. "See, the difference between you and me is, that I do not care about you. If this gets to one, just one flimsy reporter, the people will turn against you. I can ruin your entire career. Your entire life."
The hero had miscalculated. Obviously, they hadn't expected their nemesis to feel the same. But they also hadn't expected them to tell the public. To use the public against the hero. It was a little shameless. But the hero was even more disgusted by their admiration for it.
"So?" the hero asked. Losing the public was a detrimental loss, that much was clear. But was it even measurable next to the fights with the villain? Did it even matter? When the hero could feel this euphoric? This alive? When had the public ever made them feel that way? "I would still have you."
"I do not love you," the villain argued. "You're not as important to me as you think."
"Give it some time," the hero said. "You will love me, don't worry. Everyone does."
The villain simply laughed at that. It was nearly soft. Or maybe the hero wanted it to be. It didn't matter.
"I have to admit, I am quite interested in what you have in store for me. How will you act once the public calls you a traitor? What will you do when I refuse to fight you? You are-" with their index finger, the villain traced the hero's thoat "-so very unique."
"Is that attraction?"
"Obligatory interest."
"And you say you're not in love."
They stared at each other until, finally, the villain dropped them. They cleared their throat and tilted their head. But the hero swallowed blood when their head nearly smashed against the concrete floor.
"I like toying with you, that is all."
"Sure," the hero said. They clutched their heart, tried to breathe. Being close to the villain was a gift, no matter how much it hurt. The hero loved it, loved their words, loved their personality, loved the challenge. It was insane, the hero felt completely deranged. "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
And the hero was excited. So very excited for the next weeks.
