I love how the same people (breeders, actually) who make comments about how "everyone needs to stop being so sensitive!!!" are upset about my friend's (AWESOME) spooky silken art. One of them has also made comments about waiting for him to draw silkens "with good ears" because he enjoys drawing them with prick ears and has made several pieces as such and this person clenches their fists at silkens without rose ears 🙃 it's all very pathetic. Like hey, maybe he isn't drawing for you specifically and if you wanted him to make something specific maybe you should commission him to do so. He's one of the sweetest people and it pisses me off that these two aim to bring him down

OK people who make recipes online but list specific ingredients with brand names and characteristic that only exist in their country should either be banned from making recipes or have a huge disclaimer at the top because why the fuck did I just spend 15 minutes going to all the hassle of finding a recipe online, reading whatever thoughts then baker had, only to find out I can't even do it in the end because there's no such thing as choc pots? What even is that? Can't you even bother to add an explanation so I can find a substitute or make it myself?

An artist I used to follow on here (not naming names) proceeded to justify a bad joke they made about calling people a Jewish slur when everyone in their asks was confused, angry, and wondering why they thought it was a smart move of them to do that.
And let me just say, first of all, I don't trust a single soul who justifies their bigotry by saying "oh, well OTHER people did it, so why can't I?" As if every racist/transphobic/rapist/fatphobic/sexist/ableist/fascist/anti-Semitic/etc out there are not also saying the same tired lines YOU'RE saying. Btw, it's not a harmless joke if you somehow got people in your asks confused and even pissed off at you.
And two, you used Disney as an example... Pretty sure he and the company got a lot of shit for that even back when the guy was alive, and is almost entirely the reason why marginalized groups can't escape the stereotypes and slurs thrown in his movies, so your argument makes no fucking sense. And are you so stuck in your childhood nostalgia that you would excuse literal anti-Semitism in 2023?
You're not funny, you never were funny, and you never will be if you keep this attitude up. Own up to the bullshit that YOU put yourself in and really start redefining what you think is funny.

(i love when I hit reblog and it doesn't work to open the box, but i digress)
This is EXACTLY the point right here. And you want to know how I know it?
Do you know how many people who have been through sexual trauma also have kinks? Do you think that this discourse about "Buck's trauma is being sexualized" helps those in this fandom who face that scrutiny already? Beyond the point that yes, kinks have far more to do with what's outside of the bedroom, I want to encourage you to consider something really important:
For someone to even CONSIDER acknowledging a kink with another person (in the bedroom especially), they have to feel like they can trust that person. After all, you're giving over some level of power to the person who you're in there with. And granted, there are different discussions on who really has the power in a scene in a bedroom, but beyond that, implicit and explicit trust has to be there. You're trusting this person who is touching your body in very intimate ways that if you say stop, they're going to stop. Applying that kind of logic to a situation where trauma exists requires multitudes more trust to even consider broaching it.
So when you argue that Evan's trauma is being sexualized, and then fail to recognize that he totally leaned into the flirting, that he smiled back at Tommy's "God I hope so", that he's the one who suggested "daddy issues"? You're the one bringing his trauma to the table. You're the one saying that his trauma has him too damaged to understand what he really wants. And to be perfectly honest with you, if I, as someone with trauma in my history, had another person look at me and tell me an interest in being handled a certain way in the bedroom was only because of being sexually assaulted, I'd be inclined to punch them in the face and then tell them to fall off a short bridge.
You don't get to decide how others process their trauma, or what they do or don't like outside of the bedroom just because it's what you think. The character is obviously okay with it, and that's all that matters. Leave your commentary for your fics. Those of us with processed trauma and kinks are offended at your suggestions.
Btw its very Telling the way people who are offended by the allusion to daddy kink in that BuckTommy (Kinkley?) scene are specifically taking issue with it “sexualizing” the moment/buck’s trauma.
Like,,, tell me you dont know anything about kink without telling me you dont know anything about kink lmao
Some people really dont know how fucking Soft and Romantic and Non-sexual daddy kink, and kink in general, can be, and honestly i feel sorry for them
Like daddy kink can literally be a completely Non-Sexual thing, and a lot of kink is more about the dynamics and vibes of kink, and doesnt actually require or include a sexual aspect. Its why its kink and not just sex. People hear kink and think “weird icky taboo sex” and like a) rude, b) wrong
Like bro. Do you know how many kinky people are asexual
Just, the fact people are turning this scene into “ew tommy sexualizing bucks trauma” is ughh
a) buck started it, b) its actually Fine to sexualize your trauma, its very common and normal and you shouldn’t fucking shame people for doing it, and c) youre the one jumping from implied daddy dynamic to whatever specific sexual scenario You are imagining. The show hasn’t specified anything about it but you jump to the worst version of whatever you assume it is and hate on it. Like you can personally dislike a kink, thats fine!!! But fuck off implying that a kink or the mere discussion of a kink between two consenting adults is inherently problematic

“but they matured!”
Of course they did.
I don’t think people understand that when it comes to the dynamic of an abuser and their victim, the abuser can always move on and change at any time.
All because of one simple reason; they weren’t the ones that had to be on the receiving end of the trauma.
The abusers can move on and live their happy lives without ever having to think twice about their pasts, chalk it up to ‘them being kids and not knowing any better’ while the victim has to live with the burnt of that trauma for the rest of their life.
It’s why the argument that the marauders ‘grew up and matured’ always falls flat to my ears because it always feels as if it’s used as an excuse to blame the victim for not being able to let go of their trauma and ‘get over it’, especially because severus was never shown to have ever had a good support system for him ‘getting over it’ to have ever been a possibility.
Even more-so when it’s shown that the marauders hadn’t changed or matured at all.
Did they ever apologize?
Did they ever try to atone for their actions?
No, they never did. They simply chose to forget about it and move on with their lives. Because it did not affect them.
They grew up, they got married, they enjoyed life, and when they died their sins were wiped clean and they were martyred and worshipped by the entire wizarding world.
It’s no wonder that Severus carried as much bitterness as he did.

"I can't believe CDPR made one of the romance options a COP" River is a cop for literally two thirds of a mission that is dedicated to uncovering the depths of police corruption in Night City, gets immediately booted from the force BECAUSE he tried to stand up to said police corruption, spends the rest of the game pursuing detective work outside the law, and in the base game mentions he's going to start work as a private eye so he doesn't have to return to the force in order to keep protecting people.
The only instance where the "River is a Cop" joke is funny is using it in the context of Johnny being pissy about it, which should probably tell you how low hanging that particular fruit probably is.

the more i think about season 4 klaus the more upset i get
no, you do not have to be on drugs to be flamboyant and energetic, and i don't like that they're implying otherwise
klaus' character was never because of the drugs, his setbacks and difficulties in life were!! it made it harder for him to be himself!!
and yes ofc overcoming addiction is HARD and i'm not expecting him to be the same as he was before, but they made him seem so.. pathetic..? for trying to be sober? if that makes sense?
his struggle with germophobia pissed me off because it felt like one big joke instead of an actual thing he was having a hard time with
and it's almost like they took away his queerness with the drugs? they took it away in general but his sexuality and gender identities were just completely gone until he relapsed, so he was allowed one dick joke to solidify the "return to his old self"
you don't have to give up yourself in order to overcome an addiction. an addiction does not define you, it's a struggle you overcome in order to be the best version of you. i hate this show for doing this to klaus and telling the audience that your addictions make you 'funnier' or that trying to overcome an addiction is just 'a joke.'
i love you klaus hargreeves

It's really fascinating, and really fucking annoying, how Sydcarmy as a ship is othered. Because everyone accepts Carmy and Claire dating like it's a normal, intrinsic part of the story but when others want him and Sydney, all of a sudden it's "The Bear isn't about romance, it's not the genre so stop pushing it". So Carmy can date Claire just fucking fine, everybody else can date just fine, and it has absolutely no effect on the genre(s) of the show, but if it's him and Sydney, the show is somehow going to turn into Bridgerton 🤨

Actually there is something so choice about how the narrative around Jason’s death pre-ressurection spends so much time reassuring Bruce (and the audience) that Bruce has no culpability and that Jason was hopeless and even at times tries to convince us that actually Jason wasn’t even really his son so Bruce didn’t fail as a father, he did the best he could really. Bruce doesn’t owe him anything. This could be seen as an attempt to distort history in order cope with Jason’s death, but this narrative is never actually challenged, we’re meant to take it as truth. And then Jason comes back and drags Bruce by the ear and goes actually no bitch you do owe me something you owe me a death. Bruce doesn’t get to wash his hands of him. Jason forces the issue, he refuses to let Bruce walk away clean. Good, he shouldn’t <3
