This is my first time request!! Can you do Nezha dating headcanon please??
𖤓 !! — Invisible Red String Theory. Ne zha / reader
𖤓 !! — Ne Zha can sometimes be a difficult guy to get along with; for all he is, a protector and a guardian and a friend, and all he can be, it seems that relationships tend to be the hardest for him to upkeep. It's just tends to be his nature to follow orders from the Jade emperor, his nature to take any job he's assign too seriously, his nature to be stand off-ish and cold.
𖤓 !! — It's how he was raised to be, from when he was born as a mortal to when he was reborn from the roots of a lotus flower and became the 'Third Lotus Prince'. Ne Zha hadn't exactly known a kind life, and despite everything he's been through, his first true 'friends' happened to be a ragtag group of Wukong, his successor, and everyone else who fought against the Azure lion. Even then he didn't really know how to interact with them, and furthermore making friends on the brink of the world being destroyed (twice) isn't the greatest situation. It often leads to choice words being said and sarcastic and demeaning undertones in the heat of stress.
𖤓 !! — So Ne Zha was fully ready to be left alone, once again, after the whole drama died down. Yet, when he was invited back to Pigsy's after he didn't show up to the beach day, he was kind of shocked. He half believed it was some sort of joke on him, a 'prank', another teasing gesture from Wukong. But he decided to go anyways, seeing as it would be rude not to show up when it was requested of him.
𖤓 !! — To say that people actually wanted his company was shocking would be an understatement. He was oddly moved by the voiced shouting to greet him, the chaotic nature of the whole gathering, and having people to finally spend his days with. It oddly felt like some sort of clean start. He could just be Ne Zha. Not the Third Lotus Prince, not the Demon Child, not a murderer or a kidnapper, just... Ne Zha.
𖤓 !! — "Hey, what's your name?" Ne Zha would perk up upon hearing the question, not recognizing the voice from anyone he knew. His eyebrows narrowed a little, mostly upon instinct, when he saw a stranger in a party that was meant to be only for close friends. So, either you, a complete stranger to Ne Zha, had crashed the party or you were a friend one someone's. But who would that someone be? The most logical answer would be Mei or MK, they seem like they would have a bunch of friends, and you did seem right around their age. Yet, that seemed too easy of an answer and you could be friends with a complete wild card like Tang or Wukong. The answer kind of mattered, it would give Ne Zha a basis of how you would be like. "Ne Zha." But he would answer anyways despite the uncertainty.
𖤓 !! — Well, he wouldn't know that answer really wouldn't matter much in the long run.
𖤓 !! — Oddly enough, since that day, Ne Zha swears he's seen you more times than he should; Almost like you've always been a background character in his life that only just got brought to light. It was both odd and endearing in an off-put way. As such, he never realized how much you really did hang out with MK, Mei, and the others. Whenever he would come down to help out with small tasks, trying to keep himself busy, he would notice your presence almost instantly (where, beforehand, he was sure he completely ignored it). It was an oddly magnetic presence, of siren-like-quality that lured him in with a wonderful melody. Your soul was a wonderful melody, he could feel it anytime he passed. Yet he could never let himself get distracted by such meaningless things, not when he has bigger things to do.
𖤓 !! — Not when he was sure that relationships between mortals and immortals are forbidden; The Jade Emperor never liked it when immortals mingled with the mortals anyways, hence why he tried to strike down Sun Wukong so many times and banished Gauyin when she went to live amongst them. So he could not have any relationships with mortals either. Not in the way he's been dreaming about, so he must distance himself from your all too alluring personality and smile, your kind ways and how you always seem ready to lend a hand. Siren-like, that's what Ne Zha forced himself to think of you as. You were nothing but a Siren that was created to tempt his will and strength and we was not to loose-
𖤓 !! — "You know, you shouldn't let yourself be chained to old expectations anymore, Ne Zha." Your voice, as smooth as liquid gold and as sweet as cotton candy, flushed into his ears one night during a bomb fire with everyone. He had parted himself from the group to take a breather, seeing as Sun Wukong was simply trying to annoy Macaque and everyone was having their fits of laughter about it. He never expected you to notice he had left, nevertheless for you to follow him like you did. Siren, the thought rang in his head, Siren, siren, siren! But his words would fall short as you stood next to him and hummed a small tune, watching the orange-pink sunset with such a peaceful way. "What do you mean?" Ne Zha would respond to your statement, trying to seem a little off put by it. Maybe, secretly, he was and he was just denying it to himself. He wasn't tied down by chains, he was his own person. "It's why you fail to make relationships with everyone the way that you want to." You would continue, tracing a circle along the rim of your cup. That odd detail caught Ne Zha's attention, "You're afraid that you're going to get attached, that someone will tell the Jade Emperor about your affairs, that you will be stricken down like the rest. But you know you don't have to worry about such things, right?"
𖤓 !! — Who are you? Ne Zha would stare at you with the most bewildered look, mouth slight agape, as he wondered if he was simply too easy to read or if you were some sort of witch. Surely he couldn't be easy to read, and Wukong being able to read him at times didn't count because Wukong was just odd by himself. He's also known Wukong for many years, while he hasn't spoken to you for even .1% of the time he's known Wukong. Yet you were able to read his thoughts like he was some sort of open book. "Are you a witch?" His question came out before he could think upon it; Though, he hoped you didn't notice the way he slightly jerked back and bit his tongue when his mind caught up to his words. He would glance away from you and from the sunset, yet he could hear your finger constantly tracing that circle rimmed cup of yours.
𖤓 !! — He expected you to be offended, to hold some sort of grudge due to his words, yet you only would stifle a bit of laughter before giggling at his words. That caught him off guard, and he didn't realize how your laughter cleared the awkward air around you both, as he glanced up to meet your eyes. "No, Ne Zha, I just.. I've heard about you from MK and Wukong." You would explain, "And I then began to notice all the small things you do to keep a barrier between everyone and yourself. I asked Tang and Wukong about it, and they, well, gave me some sad answers. So I thought, oh I don't know, I could help you?" Ne Zha wasn't sure how to respond to your sentiment, though he could tell you were true about your word. It was by the way you had looked up at him, the way your eyes crinkled ever so slightly in the corner, and your tone of voice. Ne Zha has met many people and you, by far, are one of the most unique.
𖤓 !! — He, also, couldn't help but feel touched at your countless efforts to try and understand him despite all he's done to keep you, and everyone else, at arms length. What kind of person would do that just so they could reach out to someone like Ne Zha?
𖤓 !! — He didn't fully let his guard or his walls down with you that night, but he surely let you a little closer to his heart. A little step closer to being able to fully understand who Ne Zha was as a person. A tiny step closer to being able to call yourself his. And, most importantly, the itty bittiest step forward in helping Ne Zha realize he can make friends now. That he doesn't have to be anyone that he doesn't want to be, that he can choose for himself; That he can be himself. And out of everything you have achieved with the smallest step of reaching out, that was the greatest one of all.
𖤓 !! — Being lovers with Ne Zha would be hard, and it'll take a lot of time, but it's something that's so worth it in the end. For once you get close enough to Ne Zha, though he wouldn't realize it, you would become one of his top priorities. You can call him, even pray to him, at any time on any day and he'll answer, and he'll be there, quicker than he had chased Wukong down once he stole the map. He's there for you through the thick and the thin, and in turn you're there for him equally as much.
𖤓 !! — Being lovers with Ne Zha is like being able to see the moments where he falters his 'big guy' persona and you get to see the true Ne Zha. Him and his little curiosities. How he'll stop and stare at a butterfly on a tree you had missed during your walk. How he cares so much about his friends, deep down, that he constantly checks Mei's 'instagram' through your phone to make sure they're okay. How he will sit in front of the stove to ponder how yeast can make bread rise. How he's so scared of losing you that he'll cuddle you against his chest at night, not aware on how tightly his arms (wrapped around your waist and chest) are to make sure you're still there. To see all his childish curiosities he couldn't think when he was a kid due to his 'destiny'; To see the way his face lights up upon trying new food and experiences; To see, well, Ne Zha.
𖤓 !! — Being lovers with Ne Zha is to truly be loved both inside and out, and loving him back just the same. It's timeless and effortless and neither of you would have it any other way.

I'm just imagining , for a few hours at least, Macaque wondering if he should even try to rescue Wukong from Azure in the Century Egg AU. After all, he was a shitty mate who caused his expecting partner to lose his baby. He knows Azure would never do that, the Lion loves kids, he would dote on Wukong...
Then Macaque hits himself with reality.
Prev.
yess.
In Macaque's mind, all he's done by coming back is bring more trouble with him. Azure on the other hand has made Wukong literally Empress of the Universe. How could he compete?
I imagine that the shadow monkey has a breakdown once all the gang comes together to plan their next move. Sitting listlessly in the corner of Wukong's hut.
Luckily he's in a room full of critics;
Pigsy: "We have to find a way to get him and the kid out of there!" Sandy: "Mr McQuack has shadow powers - maybe he can sneak in!" Macaque, gloomily: "I can't." Pigsy: "What do you mean you can't!?" Macaque: "All I've done for last nearly two thousand years is hurt Wukong. I hurt him when I left him under that mountain. I hurt him when I attacked the Monk. I hurt him with my death. I literally killed our first child! Azure has made him an Empress... all I've done is made him a widow. Ever since I came back, everything has gone wrong!" Tang: "Now thats not true!" Macaque: "IT IS! I helped bring the Lady Bone Demon back to life and nearly destroyed the world! I got Wukong possessed by her! And Wukong nearly died having Xiaotian! How has me being here made any positive change to his life!?" (*Mortal and immortal eyes avoid Macaque's gaze, all but one.*) Tieshan: "Your scarf." Macaque: "What?" Tieshan: "Your red scarf. The one you wore every day for almost a millennium. The one you died wearing. Where do you think it went after the earth took your body?" Macaque: "Why does that-" Tieshan: "What do you think Wukong wrapped himself in when he set out to make his second child?" Macaque: (*struck silent, eyes widening with realisation*) Marshal Ma, steps forward: "She's correct. Wukong made sure to be buried wearing only items that belonged to you. He thought that in some far-off way, both your Dao could survive in the child if neither of you were truly meant for this world." Macaque: "He... what does that mean? Why would he-" Tieshan: "He loved you Liu'er. He still loves you. Even when you hurt him in possibly the worst way imaginable, he still cried for you. He never stopped loving you." Macaque: (*openly crying*) "He... he would have been better off with me still dead." Xiwangmu: "I must understand something Liu'er Mihou - because you seem to not know yourself; why did you come back?" Macaque: "I..." Xiwangmu: (*gives him a stare that could set a inferno*) Macaque: "I... my ears told me that the soul I had taken was to be reborn. Reunited with Wukong. I wanted to be there to protect them both. I didn't know it meant literally returned as his child when I went searching for it." Sandy: "Explains why you tried so hard for him to let your stay then. You both still wanted a shot at having a family together." Macaque: "I did..." Pigsy, furious/annoyed: "You do. Get it into your head, bub! Wukong is stuck in that throne room in the arms of some creep, who could just decide some day to toss the kid off the cloud if he so pleases! Are you just going to mope here while that happens!?" Macaque, invigorated: "NO!" Pigsy: "Then what are you going to do?!" Macaque: "I'm- I'm going to need Bull." Pigsy: "Not the answer I was looking for but ok." Macaque, turns to the royals: "Emperor, my Lady, I must ask I great favour of you." Jade Emperor: "Go ahead." Macaque: "Azure will not stand to let even a trace of my magic inside the palace grounds - but he's been in a fair mood since Peng and Yellow Tusk have been returned to him. If we can play into that sense of camaraderie, we can get someone on the inside to smuggle Wukong and the baby out of there." Xiwangmu: "Consider his sentence null and void in the event that he helps saves my grandson and great-grandson." Tieshan, surprised: "Mother! You don't mean-" Xiwangmu: "Tieshan, currently your husband is my least disliked son-in-law. If he can help us retake the throne and save Sun Wukong, I will welcome him into our family with open arms." Tang, fanboying: "We're gonna release the Demon Bull King!!!" Red Son, appearing in a joyful whirlwind of fire: "YEAH!! Baba will kick their butts!" Tieshan: "AHH! Red Son! I thought I left you with the Ao-Longs!" Both of the Ao-Longs in dragon form: "You did." "He tried to take the baby back himself." Mei, mouth full of feathers: "I bit the birdy!"
Of course this leads to the conversation of who can lift the Staff to release DBK if Wukong isn't available.
Macaque isn't his mate's equal for nothing.

Mythological Horse Girls
It recently dawned on me that Sun Wukong from Chinese myth and Poseidon from Greek myth have something in common: they are both the god of horses!
1. Background
Sun Wukong
In chapter four of Journey to the West (Xiyouji, 西遊記, 1592), Monkey is invited to heaven to serve as the Bimawen (弼馬溫, “To assist horse temperament”), a minor post overseeing the celestial horse stables (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, p. 148). He takes the position seriously, caring for nearly 1,000 horses day and night, making sure they are all well-fed, exercised, and rested (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, p. 149). His position gives him power over all horses, even those of mortal stock. Chapter 14 reads:
When the horse saw [Wukong], its torso slackened and its legs stiffened. In fear and trembling, it could hardly stand up. For you see, that monkey had been a [Bimawen], who used to look after dragon horses in the celestial stables. His authority was such that horses of this world inevitably would fear him when they saw him (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, p. 309). [1]
Poseidon
He is considered the creator or even father of horses. Hard (2019) explains:
He was widely worshipped as Poseidon Hippios (the Lord of Horses), horses played a prominent part in his cult, and legend even presented him as the father of the first horse. [...] A legend from Thessaly in the north-east, which was a centre for the breeding of horses, represented Poseidon as the progenitor of the entire equine race. For when he had once been lying asleep in that land (where he was honoured under the title of Petraios, ‘he of the rock’), he had shed some of his semen on to the rocky ground, fertilizing the earth and so causing it to bring forth the first horse, Scyphios. Or, in some later accounts, he caused that earth to bring forth Scyphios (and Areion too in one version) by striking the ground with his trident. Or, in secondary versions that were developed at Athens, Poseidon fertilized the ground at Colonos, just outside the city, to produce the first horse, here called Sceironites, or else caused it to spring from the ground with a blow of his trident while competing with Athena for possession of Attica (pp. 126 and 127).
Astute readers will notice that Poseidon's other title, Petraios ("He of the Rock"), and ability to create life from stone is also related to Sun Wukong. You can read more about divine lithic births here.
2. Horse Girls Unite!
I previously thought of a UA where Heracles, guardian of the Buddha, is called in place of Erlang to end Monkey's rebellion in chapter six. And after Wukong achieves Buddhahood in chapter 100, the Tathagata asks Heracles to take Monkey through the Greek World system. There, the Victorious Fighting Buddha would no doubt learn of Poseidon's connection to horses.
I think both would bond over a mutual love for horses, perhaps geeking out about the subject for hours.

Notes:
1) This power was given to Monkey by the Jade Emperor, who gives him the Bimawen post. This was pointed out to me by Irwen Wong of the Journey to the West Library blog.

It was cold 一 having been stuck in this bland, deserted hell space called purgatory for days or maybe even years. Since then, he hasn't been the same; He just sits there, his eyes darkening from both loss of sleep and tears.
He's finally alone. And he hates it.
He hates how cold he is, he hates the feeling that no matter how long, or how far he walks, he'll never escape. This was his punishment for him to face alone, and no one could fix it.
At least that's what he believed, is he wrong? He hasn't spoken to anyone for who knows how long, time doesn't exist here, only a slow descent into madness.
His appearance has changed slowly over time, his once light blue fur dulled to grey, his hair turned from orange into a dark greyish color, and his eyes, once bright pink now turned into deep magenta both from crying and from tiredness. He wants to sleep, but he can't, again he doesn't have a body so even if he tried he'll never feel the euphoria of rest that mortals so carelessly waste for minuscule pleasures like gaming.
As Azure stares into the blank space, it's as if he's staring into a void that has swallowed him whole. He can't help but reminisce on old times, like that one time when he and his sworn brothers would sit and mock heaven and the insufferable men who called themselves kings. But now, those memories only bring him sadness and regret. He knows that he would've been a good king to both the people of heaven and earth, but he's already seen the damage he's caused to Earth from his ambush of the king for the throne. The weight of his past mistakes is heavy on his heart, and he can't help but wonder if there's any way to make things right.
Until he remembers you. [Y/n], daughter of the Jade Emperor and youngest princess of the seven daughters of the emperor.
He remembers the first day he was introduced to you, way back before he even knew the Monkie King, Your soft supple skin, your precious tender eyes, unmarked by the many suitors the Jade Emperor would bring as they fell to your feet; None of them made you feel a speck of love and as a result, you would be nicknamed 'The Princess who could not love'
All of this changed after Azure became your royal knight, no matter where you went, Azure was right behind you, watching you, protecting you. It was annoying at first, to have complained to your father on multiple occasions about how much the blue lion breathed down your neck to ensure not a single flea or fly pitched atop your head. But even then he was the only person willing to deal with your rude mouth and harsh words.
After spending some time together, you began to see Azure in a different light. You started to enjoy his company and found yourself looking forward to your moments alone with him. As you got to know him better, you began to see the little things that made him special. You started to make little crafts for him whenever you had free time, and you would sit beside him whenever you ate. Before you knew it, you had fallen for him. It didn't help that your sisters teased you about your crush, but you couldn't help the way you felt. As time went on, you grew even closer to Azure, and other guards began to notice how much you cared for him. You didn't mind, though. You were happy just being near him, and you knew that he felt the same way about you.
Of course, your father heard the news from a couple of your sisters once they giggled to themselves while walking away from the peach garden, having been stopped by their father.
"What is the meaning of this little chattering amongst my daughters?" He chuckles as his daughters run into his arms, "Father, would you believe that our beloved sister [y/n] has a crush on one of your celestial warriors?" Lianhua snickers to herself as her sister Xi Wang Mu gently slapped her sister's shoulder, "[Y/n], the princess who couldn't love has a crush on a celestial warrior who is her bodyguard! Kind of ironic don't you think Father?" The girls giggled to themselves as they ran off to their other four sisters in the palace and left their father in the hall to ponder on this newfound information, he was enraged, to say the least.
"YOU DARE TO ESTABLISH A RELATIONSHIP WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE? ESPECIALLY WITH ONE OF MY CELESTIAL WARRIORS? THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED."
He screamed in your face as you looked down in shame, you looked both sides, none of your sisters dared to look at you out of fear of getting reprimanded by their father; You felt alone, worse with the fact that Azure got found out for attempting to ambush your father and get you to run away with him.
Azure knelt there, not that he wanted to, only because other celestial warriors held him and his comrades to the floor with sharp weapons grazing their necks, Azure spoke up, only to be silenced shortly after.
"You leave her alone she has nothing to do with this!" "SHUT UP BEFORE I GIVE YOU A REASON TO." Nezha silenced him as he held him down with a fire wheel, burning the lion's mane slightly as Azure quieted down; The Emperor went back to scolding his daughter as she dared not to look at him from the fact that she was crying harshly whilst wiping away her tears.
"I GIVE YOU MULTIPLE SUITORS, WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS LION YOU CALL YOUR LOVER-" "HE UNDERSTANDS ME, FATHER"
The room grew quiet, Nezha, the other celestial warriors, your sisters, and Azure with his comrades shared a look of shock. "HE MAKES ME HAPPY, I KNOW HE WOULDN'T LEAVE ME TO BATTLE ALONE, HE WOULD BE THERE TO PROTECT ME, TO KEEP ME SAFE SO HOW DARE YOU TELL ME WHO I CAN AND CANNOT LOVE?" You cried as you held the broken hairpin Azure gave you, the emperor was shocked before yelling once more only to be silenced by your yelling.
"I WON'T STAND FOR THIS-" "THE MEN YOU BRING TO ME HAVE NEVER TRULY CARED FOR ME, BUT HE'S DIFFERENT. HE COMPLETES ME, HE MAKES ME LAUGH, AND STAYS BY MY SIDE WHEN I CRY. HE TREATS ME BETTER THAN ANY OTHER MAN YOU COULD BRING FROM BOTH HEAVEN AND EARTH. SO I DEMAND THAT YOU RESPECT MY CHOICE AND STOP INTERFERING WITH MY RELATIONSHIP-"
You fell to the floor from the slap your father gave you, your mother looked shocked and so were your sisters and Azure as he attempted to fight Nezha off him only to be held down by more celestial guards.
"Don't you EVER speak to me like that when I scold you"
You look up at the man you once called your father, shock and hurt evident on your face before you run out of the courtroom, one of your sisters rushes out to console you as the doors close, and he sits back on his throne as he began settling a suitable punishment for Azure and his comrades.
"I hereby banish thee from heaven, you are not to return and be forever damned to live out the rest of your life on earth" Nezha nods his head as they carried the perpetrators out of his courtroom, his daughters followed behind them, leaving the Jade Emperor and Wangmu alone.
"My king, don't you think you were a bit too harsh on our daughter?" She held his hand as he groans and pinched the bridge of his nose "Niang please, it's already hard to have to face my daughter after this" he looks at the gold and white doors, "But, still, don't you think it's fair you owe her an apology?" She rests her head upon his shoulder as he kissed her hand, looking in the direction she was looking on.
"Azure lion betrayed me and seduced my daughter into thinking he loves her, I only want to protect her." "I know that well my love, but don't you remember when we were younger? Remember how I acted similar to her, I too was once crowned the Princess who could not love" She looked down and smiled at the memory of the Jade Emperor attempting to court her, a soft blush grew on her face as the emperor now softened his gaze at that sugary memory. Now rethinking back, [Y/n] always had her mother's traits the most the only thing that belonged to him was her stubbornness and how she judged people.
"Am I a horrible father?" he looks down at his hand, the one that he struck on his youngest and most beloved daughter before your mother held that hand. "You never were, just misunderstood at most, but I'm not the one to say that. Go to her Yuhuang, please." She steps down off her throne and waits for him to follow, which he does shortly after as they walk down the halls to your favorite spot.
Whilst walking, they found the Garden of Peaches you loved spending your quiet time in, they heard hushed cries and consoling from multiple voices; Your eldest sister held you as you hugged her, turning into an inconsolable mess of muddled makeup and puddle of tears.
"We're so sorry [Y/n]" "We didn't know father would be so angry about this" Lianghua and Xi Wang Mu coddled you as you kept crying in Xi Wang Mu's kimono, even then you couldn't stop crying, it hurts to know that the man you loved so much was bound to be thrown out of heaven from both yours and his stupid decisions.
Wangmu looked at her husband and put a hand on his back, nodding for him to go to you as he entered the garden, your sisters stood up and held their hands before them as you still sat there, refusing to acknowledge your father and king; Your sisters left you both alone as Yuhuang sat close to you.
"Please talk to me [Y/n], you know I hate seeing you so upset" he held your hand only for you to yank it away and move far away from him, he sighed and sat closer to you before holding your hand firmly.
"Let go of me" "[Y/n] I'm trying to talk to you" he pleads for you to look him in the eyes, stopping once you refuse to look at him. "Your highness, I do not wish to speak to you as of now" "Do not refer to me like I am just a King" "Why not? No father of mine would hit me across the face and then throw out the only person that made me happy enough to live in this hellhole called heaven." "[Y/n]"
He said your name sternly, to which you stopped whilst still refusing to look him in his eyes; He gave up trying to get you to look at him and just held your hand. "Is that how you really think of this place?" he asks as you just nod, he looks at the pavement before speaking up "As much as I am against this, I am willing to allow this relationship to prosper." You look at him in shock as he continues, "Once a month I will allow Azure and his accomplices to come to the castle, with the exception that you will continue referring to me as Dad once more" "You really mean it?!" you piped up as he nods, causing you to squeal and kiss your father's forehead as you praised and thanked him, causing him to chuckle as he hugged you, sharing half a peach as you look out into the cloudy abyss.
And he kept his word, starting the next month, he allowed them to roam the castle, but mainly because you missed talking to Azure so much; Hugging him tightly and kissing his nose and he spun you around, a purr left his throat when you pet his ears as you stayed in your room for the rest of the day till it was time for him to leave.
Every chance you got, your love for him grew stronger, and it didn't help that you were given the ability to send letters to one another, some romantic and some rather suggestive but even still, your love did not falter one bit.
But over time, his letters started to slow, and he stopped coming to heaven due to his 'busy' schedule, but even then you still sent him letters professing your undying love to the lion.
Until one day, after months have passed with no letters from him, one did return! But not one you expected.
──────────────────────────────
Dear 'Princess',
Please stop sending letters to my husband. This is his wife, he is now happily married and has kids of his own to take care of alongside the woman (I) he chose to marry.
While he does read your letters, understand that you will never be his #1 priority, because he is married and has his children who he loves and cares for.
Look below to find pictures of him and I alongside our children sharing memories.
From what you can tell, he is very happy and living a life where he doesn't need to waste his breath coming to visit you because you cannot get over him.
So for the sake of my family, leave him alone, go and find a husband I don't know nor do I care, just stop talking to him.
-Signed Bīng shī gōngzhǔ
──────────────────────────────
You read it over and over again, seeing pictures of Azure with the presumed wife and children, tears flooded your face as your heart broke into two; Tearing and burning every picture and gift given to you by Azure, one of your sisters knocked on your door before entering and screamed when she saw your figure.
Your hair was a mess, your eyes were red and your clothes were crinkled and almost torn. You looked like a demon in silk clothing as you kept destroying what you had of Azure, hatred for the blue lion filled your heart as you promised that the day you saw him he would die.
After having found out what his wife sent to you he was beyond enraged, killing his wife and murdering his children before going on a rampage in a nearby village before falling unconscious. Wanting to one day explain his situation to you at some point to put your heart at ease.
*Now back to his present*
He was teleported to a room, one that he didn't remember so clearly, he was back in his original form but cuffed by a binding spell before a door behind him opened, and there sat Nezha with a blank expression before he spoke.
"Do you wish to see [Y/n] again?" he starts as he drinks the water he carries into the room before offering Azure a separate bottle of his own to drink, which he obliges before speaking.
"There's a catch here, isn't it?" "There is, but you will not like it" Nezha continues as another celestial guard summons a circle, there you lay in bed, surrounded by wires and a heart rate monitor as Azure looks at it in shock and guilt, having remembered that he placed you in the scroll.
"If you give up the rest of the Jade Emperor's powers alongside a fraction of yours, we will be able to revive her, but, all memories of what happened before her getting captured in the scroll will still be stuck in her memories. Not only that, we will allow you to live comfortably both in either heaven and earth, under the guise you give at least half of your powers in an attempt to find a new emperor"
This was a good deal, but even then he ponders on this, while it would be nice to be able to finally have a full conversation with you once you woke up, it would be difficult for him to just give up half his soul just to be ruled and controlled under Nezha's command, yet... He loved you, and he was more than willing to do whatever it took for you to forgive him.
"...Fine, but under one condition" "What is it it?" Nezha asks as he takes out a lotus flower themed vase. "If she does not marry me, then I want my freedom, my friends, and my soul back." He looks at the lotus prince, before hearing him sigh and roll his eyes.
"A deal is a deal"

A sneak peak of a part of my very own storyline/ au/ fanfic or something- I don’t know guys I’m just here for monkeys.
But I do have a name for it!
Kill the crown.
Pretty cool right? I think so-
Okay basic run down!
At the end of
“the journey to the west”
Which I have not read yet so bear with me on this canon divergence— Wukong goes to the jade emperor to have his crown removed. JE decides that no, Wukong is too unruly and dangerous to keep around; unfortunately killing him is out of his options because Wukong is effectively completely immortal now, so instead— JE recites a variation of the crown’s spell and effectively puts Wukong into a coma cannot wake himself up from.
From there, Wukong is thrown back onto flower fruit mountain ( the art is of Wukong in his coma) and left to rot. Neither his brothers nor master know where he is, so they wait… and wait- until they continue with their own lives.
Eventually heaven is taken over by someone else, the jade emperor destroyed by a creature only known by the veiled emperor.
No one knows their face, their real name, or the extend of their powers. Only that they’ve laid siege on the celestial realm, destroying anyone who stands in their way.
Fifty earthly years pass, parts of China are now controlled by the veiled emperor as well- and said power is creeping along, covering more and more kingdoms.
Humans and demons alike of course fight back, warring against the celestial realm.
One free kingdom is The Kingdom of the Eastern Sun. Ruled by a demonic king, and his empress… the stone ape, the long armed gibbon, Min-Yáng. Together she and Bojing ( her husband ) have four children.
The main of which is the second oldest, Ming-Yue/ Yue for short. Over the years, there have been rumors of Monkey King’s staff being hidden among the earth- and she was fascinated by it.
She was even more intrigued when a general spoke about finding what they thought to be said staff, requesting her parents for an expedition group.
Heng, Min-Yáng’s sworn brother and the stone baboon, offered to join this party. Yue snuck out, hiding away to join the crew. No one was any wiser until it was too late to bring her back.
Finding the staff is the catalyst, even more so when Yue plucks it from the crater it had formed when falling from heaven.
From then on, she and her uncle Heng are hunted by misguided ( if not outright forced ) celestial soldiers, even other demons! All of them wanting the staff to give to the new emperor.
There is only one person still on the mortal plane that can help, the legendary monkey king. But only one of equal power and strength can awaken him from the crown’s curse.
Someone that had been dead for decades, the last monkey born from stone… the six eared macaque: Luhan.
And that’s a quick summary of Kill The Crown so far!
Of course there’s so many more characters and details I’m skipping over like Yue’s siblings, Guanyin’s role, and so much more!! But dang I’m so excited to share this story with everybody! Of course, soon to come is art of everybody once I format it all to Tumblr. But if you’re too impatient- my insta has quite a bit of kill the crown art!

Hiya!! Could I perhaps request a oneshot of dark parent/older sibling Xiangliu with MK? Like maybe the demon has his own twisted sense of “protecting” MK? (I’m new to this acc and I don’t know if this is within your comfort zone of writing so I’m sorry if it isn’t!!)
Constricting Support (Weird Uncle! Xiangliu and MK)
Another cycle failed, but Xiangliu finally found his ticket out of this dreaded prison, a young mortal named MK. Xiangliu was truly fond of MK--moreso, filled with pity at the thought of the harbinger
Every cycle so far, he would emerge, guided by nothing more than his sole duty to die at the hands of his creator. So, this cycle, Xiangliu would try to lead him away, to show him the wonder of life that he wouldn't get to experience afterwards
MK was filled with childish wonder, admiring humanity and the way people smiled and greeted each other. Though, his thoughts would always stray too far--he wanted to save these people. Xiangliu tried to convince the stone monkey out of it, but MK was stubborn--just like his former partners
MK wasn't going to let these people die, he'd rather his life mean something in the end than to let those poor mortals suffer a terrifying fate. It was something so bizarre, that the snake demon had to pause in wonder of how such a being could be made with an annoying lack of self-preservation. It was nonsense to him! To willingly be a pawn in someone's game? To happily accept the strings that binded his fate?
No, no, Xiangliu wasn't going to accept this. The pillar would fall whether MK liked it or not.
It was good that MK lacked any other figure to be with. Xiangliu was the only one MK trusted in the end, and the serpent used that to his advantage. He trapped MK in a world of peace, in a false reality where people greeted him with those strange smiles and how they cheered his name for his compassion. MK's body laid in an eternal slumber as time would pass forward, eons ticking away to years to days. Eventually, the time had come: the day of reckoning, the renewal of the cycle.
Wukong wasn't on good terms with Xiangliu, and Macaque wasn't heard from after the Lady Bone Demon. Like clockwork, the monkey scrambled through the earth, finding stones--somehow this cycle worked with Wukong, allowing him to overcome Nezha to capture the Jade Emperor's power-- and lacking just one piece of the puzzle. The serpent demon watched sadly as his former friend was rejected by the pillar, the stones clinking to the ground.
"It won't work with you, Wukong." Xiangliu sighed, offering a comforting hand despite the hate-filled snarl on the sage's face.
"I won't let everything end here." Wukong growled, picking up the stones one by one. "If that pillar won't accept me, I'll make it accept me."
In one cycle, Xiangliu would've believed him. But, with a soft smile, the demon walked away, watching as Wukong fell back once more. Cracks in the universe became more prominent, and chaos seeped through the world, its presence a wonderful blanket of wild energy coursing through him. Wukong yelled out in frustration, punching the ground wildly, and Xiangliu simply watched, waiting for the pillar to finally shatter.
Wukong panted, futility covering his body as he simply watched the pillar crumble. Yet, the sounds of running had interrupted the beautiful moment, the two demon turning back to see the panicked figure of a monkey rushing towards the pillar.
"You!" Xiangliu stood up in shock. "How did you--?"
"I broke out of your spell." MK glared at the snake demon. "The guardians called my name, telling me where the stones were, and Nuwa told me what I had to do."
"Don't you understand?" The demon hissed. "You're being played for a fool here. We're so close to being free, and you're willing to trap us in a cage all over again?"
Wukong gasped, running to other simian. "You know how to fix the pillar?"
MK nodded, eying Wukong briefly before returning his gaze to Xiangliu. "I'd rather live in a world where we are caged happily, then to be forced into a gilded prison when I'm needed."
The serpent paused, dread filling his body. "No--that's not--"
"You've done enough." MK growled, his trembling fists clenching tightly. "I'm fulfilling my purpose, on my own."
Xiangliu yelled, watching as MK slowly stepped to the pillar. Wukong quickly held the demon back, eyes widening as MK entered the pillar and the world faded to white.
Xiangliu stood still, watching the way nature emerged through the earth, and humans and monkeys emerged from clay. A stone laid on top of a fruit-filled mountain, almost ready to hatch, as a pebble would grow in its place centuries later.
The demon fell to his knees and screamed.

I understand that Wukong has a vow of celibacy due to his status as a monk, but I wanted to ask if other gods have vows like that? Do Nezha, Muzha, or Erlang have them? I remember someone once saying that some gods had those vows or something, but maybe I remember it wrong.
It's not really a vow of celibacy as much as it is illegal so to speak.
In Eastern Heaven, it is very rare if there is a god in a relationship, whether past or future, because they always end with a breakup. Chang'e, Weaver Girl, Yunhua, Sanseng Mu, and so on are just a few examples of goddesses in heaven who have been romantically involved with other gods or humans. Chang'e had her husband left on earth, Weaver Girl only gets to see her husband once a year, Yunhua had her husband and first son killed, and Sanseng Mu was put under a mountain for her crimes of being married to a human and having a son.
Needless to say, these romantic relationships are considered illegal in heaven as Taoist gods you are to give up your worldly connections, including getting married or being in a relationship for the sake of getting a god title. Your first priority is your duty as a god and your Emperor and to be involved with another person only leads to distractions. Let it be said that you are never FORCED to be a god, all gods and goddesses understand what they are getting into when accepting a job position and must agree to the terms and conditions in order to proceed with their job applications. Very by the book.
A good example of this is in Xiyouji when we see the Yellow-Robed Demon kidnapping a queen to be his bride. He is actually one of the 28 Masions of Heaven and fell in love with a Jade Maiden in Heaven and both agreed to run away to be together. But she was reincarnated and forgot about him while he turned into a demon and kidnapped her. The point being is that they both knew they couldn't be together in heaven because Romantic Relationships are not allowed between gods or mortals. You could be immortal or even just live in heaven (yes some mortals get to live in lower levels of heaven) and get married but for gods like Erlang Shen, Muzha, and Nezha, they would not be allowed relationships because they have god titles (Also Muzha is under Guanyin here so he might have a vow of celibacy actually).
Funny enough there is a show Lotus Lantern Prequeal where I believe Erlang Shen divorces his wife just so he could ascend to be a god in heaven. These kind of tragic love stories are very popular and thus you always see them in myths.

Monkie Kid OC Info and Story (Because he has been marinating in my head and this drawing doesn't do him justice but it works until I do something better-)
Name: Zi You Xiong/Kaskae
Title: The Bear Demon Guard or The Sun Bear Guardian
Occupation: Informer and assistance to the Jade Emperor (Formerly) Infomation Guardian and Explorer (Currently)
Age: No one knows. He's just ancient- But probably older than however old Nezha, Erlang and Princess Iron Fan are.
Species: Sun Bear Demon
Zi You means 'Liberty' in Chinese while Xiong means 'Bear' and Kaskae is 'Chief'
Info:
Zi You is an expertly skilled guardian and former right hand assistant to the Jade Emperor. For millions of years, he became a sort of agent for the Emperor in many events across the timeline. But before that, he definitely wasn't what he is now. Zi You was once a mortal chief in the mortal realm, leading his army to victory but was lead by upper forces that controlled what he was able to do. When things got a bit much and shady deals were made, he found out and before he could say anything, they left him to die in the forest with nothing. Zi You spent his time in the forest, wandering aimlessly for anything that could help him...and he found that in the form of a bear. A Sun Bear, to be exact. He found this Sun Bear trapped by a net that had been purposefully set up to catch it but he saved it before anything happened. Earning the bear's respect, he named it Bǎohù ('Protect') and the two became close, helping each other as they lived in the forest as companions. But soon, the army Zi You formerly worked for caught wind he was alive and wanted to finish the job, finding him and in the midst of killing him, Bǎohù jumped in to save him but was shot down. Angered, Zi You went and killed the one responsible before collapsing and dying from his own injuries.
Waking up in the Celestial Realm, Zi You was, of course, taken aback from this. He was never really one to believe in the afterlife or anything. But he figured finding a way to live would be the best. He still kept his army prowess up and used it to survive, gaining his abilities and his spear along the way. He was soon infamous in the Celestial Realm for his fighting status and gained council with the Jade Emperor who decided that they should work together.
Zi You accepted because what else could he do ? Say no ? Of course not. From there, he stood by the Jade Emperor. Not as a general but more of a bodyguard. And also someone who the Jade Emperor told many things to. He was trusted to the Jade Emperor and you could say they became best friends after that.
But then, things...happened.
Zi You witnessed many things he wished he didn't during his time with the Jade Emperor and...it got to the point where he didn't want it anymore. And through the assault of the Celestial Realm, he decided he was done...He told the Jade Emperor he wanted out of his duties and was done being the the Celestial Realm, wanting to find more things in reality than just...pain. The Jade Emperor agreed after some convincing, warning his friend that 'Not everything is good in reality'.
So that's basically where he is now. Zi You is a vagabond of sorts, travelling the world at his own pace and discovering different things to see. And with each journey he takes, he adds various gem stones he finds to his staff-spear (Which is why there is one gem there. That was his staff in the beginning of his journeys) and through it, he met MK and the gang and became a slight guiding force for them.
Personality:
Zi You is a leader. That's all he has basically been for his life and afterlife. And he has gathered the respect from many of the most powerful demons around him. And he definitely isn't afraid to do what he believes is necessary.
On the surface, Zi You looks like a very serious bear, seeming like he would bite you if you dared speak to him...and he would. If you said something wrong. But he has a heart of genuine gold. Zi You would be that type of dad who probably gets hurt but undermines his own injuries and injures himself more just to make sure you are okay. And he is supportive for all the good things in life like trusting self instincts and courage. He plays a sort of granddad figure to MK (He has enough father figures) and the gang in helping them out and providing advice. He has seen a lot and isn't afraid to share what he knows.
But don't test him. He will get angry if you push him the wrong way. Looking at you Wukong. Zi You likes order and knows when things get serious. So he'll tell everyone to stop joking around if it means getting things done. He can handle some of the gang's usual shenanigans but if it gets out of hand, he'll say something. And it won't be pretty. Also, he can put up a fight with DBK and Azure. They don't scare him. At all, actually.
Also, being an informer, he's managed to gain info from anyone and anything during his travels so any question you ask him, he will know about. Even things about Wukong he knows. He's Tang but he's lived more-
Abilities:
He has enhanced strength, agility and his claws are sharp enough to give a major mega swipe to the face if he feels so inclined. He is a spirit after all. He also has the ability to enlarge himself more to make himself bigger. He could get to the size of DBK if he wants to. He also has very good hearing than a normal bear so he can be thousands of miles away and he'll hear you. It doesn't get so loud though so he's good.
================================================
I'm gonna stop there since that's basically it. He has more to his abilities but I don't wanna spoil anything. I've had him in my head enough to know when a ref is enough without spoiling everything. But I hope I can do more things with him. Thank you for seeing and please like if you enjoy it !

ANALYZING THE BROTHERHOOD
(SIDE NOTE:
this post will bring up but slander the ships such as lionpeach and shadowpeach cause well I will explain in the analysis and it just my opinion don’t send hate)
So i decided to analyze the brotherhood as a whole with every member of the brotherhood
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a1ca3aa7185f992f9ff4478bc4a9f08c/b28b9f834150171e-90/s540x810/8c742372415b4c1b4fdb2aa6e07f2a3c11808656.jpg)
Now currently right now there are 6 members we know about yellow tusk Peng macaque dbk azure and of course sun wukong although we don’t know who the 7th brother (or sister??) is due to the extra chair in the flashback of episode 2 we may see them in season 5 (or special??)
Now during this analysis I will talk the main ones in interest since we barely know the two Peng and yellow tusk and we don’t know dbk opinion currently was on them before the trio attacked and wukong cause well I don’t have much info to get out of his past self
The main one of interest I will be talking about is macaque and azure lion to start it off easy we will start of with azure lion
Now as we know azure lion worked for the celestial realm either as a lead general cause in one of the flashbacks he has been seen to be reporting to the jade emperor himself
So he was once probably at high rank of some kind although from we saw from the flashbacks he wasn’t really happy cause of the celestial realm ignoring the sick and hungry in the mortal realm which makes his intentions during season 4 pretty pure that he would do anything to help people who are suffering even if it means doing bad things
Although from what I guess it made him pretty much some sort of outcast to the celestial realm due to from what we seen the celestial put themselves before others as they party and feast most the time while azure just wanted to help people I don’t really know how he left if he left there by choice or something but during that time is where he first met wukong
Now many people say azure felled in love with wukong during this but I think otherwise let me explain
Now azure wasn’t really in love with him he was very impressed that wukong managed to make such a beautiful paradise (honestly if I were him I would be very impressed too if this ginger demon monkey with a golden staff managed to accomplish many things and make a such beautiful and peaceful paradise for his subjects )
Plus in this scene azure said during the flashback he knew wukong was a warrior who had his ideals a brother a king and none of that didn’t seem romantic no it seems he was glad there is finally someone who knows what they were doing and how to help his subjects to the point he wanted to help him with it and wanted be his sworn brother from the start
Now I wish to analyze this part more but there isn’t other scenes of how he introduced himself to wukong how they became sworn brothers ETC
Anyways now back to the flashback in episode 2
Now as we look more of the group they seem to really act like brothers especially wukong and macaque hell wukong even calls the two Monkie bros it showed that they all really did see eachothers as brothers as family which makes it hurt breaking knowing what happens later
but during this scene it seems to be after the havoc of heaven now I’m not sure if it’s exactly like how it happened in the book journey to the west but it seems similar but during this they are discussing who should be the new ruler of celestial dbk suggested azure the brothers seem to agree
but azure seems to not want the position and say wukong would fit cause he brought all them together in the first place (and it’s also probably because he knows wukong would suit perfectly for the job cause wukong seems to be more caring and more relaxed then how he is in the current time of Monkie kid and wukong would help the people who are suffering in the mortal realm )
but as we all know when they go decided to overthrown the jade emperor for the first time it didn’t end well now that’s the end for azure analysis next up is macaque
now there is not much known how macaque was like during the past but he seems to be more of the cautious and quieter one out of all his brothers to the point he sometimes gets called a coward at times
but he did seem to just worry for his brothers and himself with good reasons now yes azure is right about the celestial realm and jade emperor but macaque is also right that it’s not a good idea to anger the jade emperor cause something bad could happen! (And it did)
although he did seem disconnected from his brothers I’m sure they do care for him he was just a little to different the only one who he felt like could understand him was of course wukong
back then it seems they were the closest out of the brothers they genuinely cared for eachother wukong did notice macaque seemed to be stressed about the plan wukong cheered up promising after everything was over they get to go back to ffm and eat some fruit and chill with seems to cheer macaque up
cause if you look closely he seem to still have a sad expression like he knew something bad will happen which probably he knew cause of his six ears it said one hears the past one hears the present and the other future he guessed that he couldn’t change it and just spend the time he had with his brothers before everything goes downhill with they go fight heaven
well that’s all hope ya enjoy it

Nezha, what exactly do you plan to do once you become the Jade Emperor?
My immediate plans? Or the more long term ones?
I have some ideas in mind, but things are going to be... Messy at best. Like I have expectation for things to go to shit for awhile.
I'll only really be able to act until years, so don't expect any major changes for a bit. Even when I do start to act, it'll be slow.
I'll use the power to make the world a better place, but if I attempt to act to fast it may get destructive. That's where the Brotherhood will go wrong; they have no patience. They'll force the world to bend to their will, which will end up doing more harm than good. One of my many virtues has always been my patience, so I won't have the same issues.
First thing first is food production; There is no need for mortals to starve in the world.
Then I'll be revoking the exile of many Heavenly Spirits. The punishments of Heaven have always been harsh, too harsh. The entire legal system of Heaven will be changed to be far more lenient.
I will also reallow demon kind into heaven. For around 900 years all demons have been disallowed from Heaven, merely for there status.
Even the mortal world has stopped criminalizing their existence, so there is no reason for the Heavenly Realm to be lagging behind.
The army also needs some serious improvements; Most of our soldiers are completely untrained.
There are some more details I need to figure out, and some more minor flaws in the system that need to be addressed, but I cannot predict that far in the future yet.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1f23f719832c05f72e153e6730c8e4a7/067ece43cda8949a-56/s540x810/ee7646b445811d5e1320fceddc0f0f6cd911c35b.jpg)
More selfishly, I do want my Godson to be allowed into the realm, and to restore Princess Iron Fan's Heavenly status. When she married the Bull Demon King she was exiled, and therefore is only considered a princess because of her marriage, not her original birth.
But that's just a small, personal matter. You probably have no intrest, so I won't prattle on.

What happens in the journey to the west part in your CS!AU?
I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED BECAUSE I SPENT HOURS FIGURING OUT THE LOGISTICS OF THIS SWAP AND HOW IT WOUKD AFFECT THE TIMELINE AND CHARACTERS!!! Basically, the pivotal moment of this au that changes LITERALLY EVERYTHING- Is the moment where Wukong made to guard the peaches. Instead of getting drunk, eating the peaches, and stealing the pills, he was instead the most valued guard in the orchard. The responsible nature he’d shown had made the Jade Emperor decide to entrust him with leading the Journey To the West, gifting him immortality so that there wouldn’t be any casualties. Sun Wukong is given two peaches, one which he takes for himself, and one which he gives to Macaque, as he decides to take Macaque with him on the journey. (This is very fucking important and another pivotal moment which changes our canon timeline.) Wujing, now being a river prince (as he swaps places with Ao Lie) acts as the guide. With Ao Lie, a dragon guardian of the mountains, tagging along. Macaque takes the place of Zhu Bajie in this, meaning Bajie is left to his own devices and never really getting redeemed as he does in the original journey (this plays into Pigsys role in the canon timeline) Tripitaka is swapped with Wukong, being a monk that falls into temptation too easily.
And you may be thinking “But how does he train tang if he’s not mortal and Tang is his reincarnation?” And to that, I say FUCK OFF I’M GETTING THERE.(/lh) Much like how in JTTW, Wukong was meant to reach try self restraint before the fillet could be taken off, Tripitaka was meant to learn,, basically the same thing, learning to not give into selfish desires and instead exist selflessly. Tripitakas own “golden fillet” in this au would be uh,,, possession, basically. As a monk that gave into temptation too easily, and being an earthly reincarnation of the golden cicada, Tripitakas own soul would become more and more like the golden cicadas each time he fell to temptation. If he never learned to exist selflessly, he’d lose himself and become the omnicidal god once more, basically. However he reached enlightenment and learns blah blah blah and because of that, (mixed with accidentally erasing his name from the book of Yama) he gets to keep a soul of his own, while the Golden Cicadas is expelled to live through its other earthly reincarnations, one of them being Tang. And that’s basically how the Swap affects the JTTW timeline and how it trickles its effects into our Canon timeline

The idea of Monkie kid Nezha being (technically, I know) the Jade Emperor’s grandson is hilarious to me because it opens up the idea for two dynamics.
“I hate you because you are the walking representation of the marriage my daughter betrayed me to have.”
Or
“Your mother’s a bitch but we’re cool.”
It's... complicated.
You see, after the situation with Zhinu and Songzi/Guanyin happened, Second Princess Yin Wuming had been one of the many imperial princesses that had silently opposed her parents punishments against their own children. Upon losing both her eldest and (then) younges sisters to their poor parenting; she had enough. She was a second born who decided once and for all to scream her opinion into the world, no matter the consequences.
As a punishment for her insolence; the Jade Emperor and Queen Mother sent Yin to live a mortal life on earth until she could understand the suffering a mortal life can bring.
Yin responded to this reincarnation by becoming a demon hunter, marrying a cool af fellow hunter, and having 2 half-divine children before her parents realised that they had made a terrible mistake.
Refusing to yield on their negative opinion of human-celestial relations, but not wanting to lose another daughter as they had Zhinu, the Queen Mother cursed Yin to be unable to bear a child without great suffering. Similar to what she would do to Princess Iron Fan many years later.
What the Queen Mother hadn't counted on though... was that Yin was already pregnant with her third child...
Nezha absorbed the infernal magic sent by his grandmother, and became well... Nezha. Wreathed in flames and more demon than child.
The Jade Emperor and Queen Mother looked down, saw this little guy and were like; "Uh oh."
After the whole storyline involving the war with the dragons, Nezha's sacrifice and rebirth, the Investiture Crisis, Li Jing's and his sons rise to godhood, and Lady Yin refusing reascension to continue the cycle of reincarnation?
The Jade Emperor and Queen Mother basically see Nezha as a painfull reminder and a trophy all at once.
Nezha is the sum of their victories in the Investiture Crisis. Holding a blessing from the Pure One themselves in his rebirth. Raised in his new life to become a fine heavenly soldier and valuable asset to the Celestial Realm.
But he's also a reminder of the wrongs the royal couple have done. They were indirectly responsibile for his creation, and the suffering he brought upon the gods, mortals, and dragons alike. And even with their grandsons and son-in-law becoming celestials, they still lost another one of their daughters.
Nezha is both their most trusted advisor and most detested grandchild.
Lady Yin's soul is still in the cycle of rebirth, so there's no way to know where she's at rn.

i loved ur lmk fandomification rant, now i'm curious- who's your favorite (non-monkey!) lmk character (and any insights you want to share with the class? :eyes:)
Mei, Lady Bone Demon, and probably Azure!
But I could go on a long rant about any character in the show tbh, they're all my favorite character with the 3 I listed and MK being my "favorite favorites" (except maybe Jin and Yin, sorry guys. I do like their place as a sense of normalcy for MK, acting as the "monster of the week" antagonists in 4x01).
Little miss "I would watch my sword break 1000 times so long as I used it to protect the ones I care about" is my girly. Watched her best friend die in the A Hero is Born (AHIB) special and held onto that as a grudge all the way until 3x10. She just wants to see everyone make it out alive, but I doubt she's ready to pay the price required for that. No one in this show is. Mei watched Peng run away in 4x14 and wanted to kill that bird with her bear hands. She took everything Subodhi said to her in 4x09 so personally, like Subodhi probably knew she would, which allowed her to build off of MK's plan so they had a chance at succeeding. She's at her god damn limit. Her episodes (1x03, 3x02, & 4x05) are some of my favorites. She drives a motor cycle, she wears lipstick, she's a gamer, she wields a kick-ass sword, she's a dragon. In 3x12 she's willing to sacrifice Wukong for the sake of the world and more specifically MK. "Don't you realize you're hurting the people who care about you the most?" She's "fakin' it until she's makin' it". Literally what more could you ask for in a character.
Then you have LBD, who fights for a perfect world supposedly for mortal souls yet discards people the moment they no longer have a use to her. Ultimately I think she uses destiny as a crutch, as her way to cope with all of the suffering in the world. "I won't let you take my Destiny from me". You wonder how much it was about perfection and how much it was about her ability to change anything in the world she watched play the same tragedy over and over again. For the first 3 seasons she seems to be acting on destiny itself, she's the narrative our protagonists are running from. Then Embrace Your Destiny comes around, and you realize she was just as doomed by the narrative as anyone else. Doomed to a world of pain, unable to fix anything. The "to pain" scene is one of my favorite scenes, just in general. "Do you really still think the universe wants anything, from any of us?" "Don't you?" LBD and MK's foil is so fucking good. A delightful antagonist who they justify but don't victimize. Killed Spider Queen on screen. What more can I say.
Now Azure. Sweet Sweet Azure. The tragedy of Unckie Lion. Sincerely wanted to make the world a better place and was willing to sacrifice anything for it, just like LBD. I think about his scene with the Jade Emperor at least once a week. "How is it you come to stand before me today Azure, was there a point where you questioned it, or where you too oblivious in your own delusion to realize you were a mere piece in somebody else's game." Fucking insane. His abandonment issues are off the charts. He was gay for Wukong. He thought he could fix the world, and instead barely left it unbroken. He died with the power he couldn't use to change anything. He let himself become a pawn (continuing LMK's habit of manipulating royalty) thinking he could somehow avoid his fate. But the only way to win was to stop playing, and at every opportunity he had to stop he kept pushing. Moving forward. Just like LBD he was coping with the suffering of the world in his own way. It didn't work. Does it ever? Maybe MK will figure it out, maybe he'll leave the world better than he found it, but it's looking bleak. The 3 way foil between LBD, MK, and Azure haunts me.
And then maybe you realize every character in this show is just trying to cope with the world in their own way, and you stare at a wall for 3 hours about it.
Overall I think this image encapsulates it best:

#I am very much a tragedy enjoyer#I miss Azure SO MUCH and yet his arc was so good. There wasn't any other way it could end.#Me looking at LBD and Azure and MK parallels knowing MK is in some deep shit: *break dances*#And then Mei has had some negative character progression of her own over there#Do we think she's okay I'm half expecting a Mei breakdown next season. To pair nicely with MK's#Sandy has death vibes too ''you're too nice for your own good'' like there is not a single character I'm not worried about.#Everyone puts themselves on the line for each other but how many times can you do that without dying. You feel me.#Yes maybe I *am* expecting lmk s5 to be a tragedy! What of it!#My monkey lego tragedy fate vs freewill show#It's for me#Look I've loved tdp since I was like 15. Harrow is one of my favorite characters. There was no other way this was gonna go#I like themes and I like motifs and I like parallels and I like throwing all of those at my beloved characters#I can not help it it's the pattern recognition#Thinking about it 5 layers too deep#asks#lmk#lego monkie kid#monkie kid#lmk Mei#lmk LBD#lmk Lady Bone Demon#lmk Azure Lion#lmk analysis

Xiyeng lore time. This was mostly done via my school computer and I only recently managed to send it over to my phone. This’ll probably have some mistakes ( I’m not a writer ) so bare with me chat!!!!
Xiyeng and his brothers were born from broken pieces of planets. He was a product of Venus, while his brother’s origins are currently unknown. Their births caused what is known as 'meteorites' to fall onto earth, causing a loud crash. Life around their landing areas were sucked of their natural resources. Plant life and fruit dried up and withered, their natural energy all going to the burning rocks that had crashed onto the Earth.
Him and his brothers barely got used to the life there. The second they all arrived, havoc broke loose as they burned through the overwhelming power that scorched through their bodies. Once they had all settled however, they soon realized something. This planet had more to offer than they had expected. They were all infatuated with the many wonders this world had to offer, every new bit of knowledge making them wide eyed with curiosity like a child to a fantasy book.
It was a wondrous time. They spent their lives like this for years as each day was a new adventure. Time was needed for them to learn the language the mortals used, it was time consuming, maybe even caused a few fights here and there. But thankfully, they ended up speaking their tongue too.
Years they spent on this world, building their own home deep in the very woods where they had first landed. Sadly, an argument broke out over the questioning of their birthplace.
One wanted to return to the stars and see beyond this planet, another wanted to venture far out to explore the seas and the skies, and another wished to remain on this planet to live out the rest of their lives here. Xiyeng, however, couldn't decide as to who he wanted to come along with, he wanted them all together after all.
But things didn't go as simple as he had hoped. Instead they all had gone their separate ways, all of them promising to at the very least meet again on special occasions. Xiyeng did not want that. Family needed each other, family needed to stay close, but this was not what he had in mind. So instead he lived the next few years in that same old house they all used to live in.
The floorboards had long since withered and the walls were scraped of their paint and decorations. He sighed, sadness leeching onto his voice like a parasite to his very heart. It ached. It slammed at the walls of his very soul. But he could manage, that was until he met Wukong.
Now, Xiyeng had never met a talking simian like him and his brothers, so Wukong was certainly a fright to his sensitive heart. The monkey jumped and screamed the first time he saw the sage, it was as if he saw the most terrifying creature to grace this plane.
But... no. Wukong was anything BUT a threat to his life. He liked to call himself "The Monkey King" or... in a longer term, "The Great Sage Equal to Heaven" which was certainly a mouthy title. Xiyeng kept to calling him Sun for short. Mostly for the fact the king's grin was like a burst of sun rays after a long storm. It was nostalgic and comforting for the cinnamon furred simian, and it seemed Xiyeng's mere appearance had the sage smiling from ear to ear.
It wasn't long until the orange scarred monkey was introduced to one of Wukong's closest friends, The Sixed Eared Macaque. [and or Macaque for short.] He never had much conversation with the raven furred warrior, he was always busy with himself or off in the shadows. Which was something he had quickly come to notice. Macaque was a rather good guy, pretty funny here and there, but nice to hang around when things got overstimulating one day.
Everything had changed in the matter of a year however.
He hadn't realized it then, but 'The Brotherhood' had plans to take down The Jade Emperor and the celestial armies. "I'll be back so we can spar again, I wanna show you how much stronger I've become once I'm the emperor!" he had said to him by the stream, words filled with such determination and assuredness Xiyeng almost believed him. He bit his tongue in doubt that day though. And sure enough, Wukong never returned that day.
Neither the next.
Or the next.
Or the next…
Or…the next.
The weeks had turned into months, and the months had turned into years at that point. Xiyeng lost hope once the 4th year mark rolled by.
Wukong wasn't returning, and he had no idea on why he thought he was going to. Not even a simple visit from Macaque. It was as if they both disappeared one day.
Centuries went by, civilization had advanced and so did everyone else. Xiyeng stayed the same though. Each day was the same schedule and the same routine. He still lived in that cabin, now fully changed into a home he could call his own when the years had changed and the seasons had passed. He knew more now, and with that he was self-fulfilled in this life. He didn't need anyone anymore and neither did anyone in return. Fruits and veg from his own garden were all he needed, along with the occasional wild life that would find their way into his home. Xiyeng had befriended a few monkeys during his time alone. Soon he had a small tribe of simians by his home almost every day.
It was great company from the usual silence that lingered in that wooden prison, and he honestly couldn't hope for anything else.
That was until he felt the whole earth shake when a wave of power shook the very core of the dirt below. He had been sleeping that day with a tiny pile of other monkeys, and when it happened, they all jolted in alarm and fled outside. Xiyeng was both terrified and confused.
He hadn't felt the earth shake that violently since the day he and his brothers first landed here. So that was... very concerning. When he opened the door to his cabin, he immediately ran through the treelines and out to the coastline where the sand and the ocean connected. Far off in the distance he could see land, perhaps even the flicker of city lights he hadn't seen in a while.
That had to be where it came from.
With a deep inhale, he changed his form into that of a hawk and flew out towards the direction of the city. This would most likely be the first time ever that he was going to go there.
Once he arrived by nightfall, he realized how much utter destruction there was from his point of view. Quickly he reverted back to his original form, brows furrowed close in alertness and with a lingering fear of what had caused this. However, he couldn't sense the threat. Which definitely only heightened his nerves compared to when he saw the utter chaos from before. How did mortals just casually live like this? even he wouldn't be able to sleep at night safely knowing something like this could happen just outside his door.
(End of season 1 episode 1.)

Kill the crown intro post #1: Sun Wukong.
The monkey king, the great sage equal to heaven itself, only truly bested by Buddha.
He had spent 15 years traversing all kinds of kingdoms, mountains, demonic strongholds, all to help his master receive the scrolls they came for.
With his merit earned, Wukong made a promise to his master. He’d help Tripitaka back to his home in the east, once he had his crown removed. Wukong, not quite trusting the Buddha with removing his crown ( 500 years of mountain trauma changes a monkey, anybody would have trust issues.) he went up to heaven to see if the jade emperor could remove the cursed crown.
The jade emperor however, didn’t believe in Wukong’s change. Not truly. Standing from his throne, the emperor of heaven recited a spell out loud. It was different from the one the bodhisattva had taught the monk; even as Wukong pleaded and writhed in pain the emperor just watched and kept reciting.
Until the great sage went still, eyes glassy and unseeing. But he wasn’t dead. His chest still had breath and his heart still beat slowly, but Wukong wasn’t truly there. No, the king for all intents was gone- trapped within his own mind in something akin to slumber.
By his order, Wukong’s body was taken back to his home, his staff thrown out of heaven without a care of where it landed, and no one told of this incident.
But without his raw power, heaven was vulnerable. Storms brewed, and a creature struck for the throne.
No one knows what happened to the Jade emperor, only that his thrown was overtaken by a creature that called itself The Veiled Emperor. The new emperor was power hungry, striking down everyone in their way without a second thought of how this could upset the balance of yin and yang.
They feared the powers of the bodhisattvas, and so earthly bodies were destroyed ( to their knowledge); every celestial, spirit, and demon that fought back were decimated. The army that stayed with the new emperor was small, but deadly to mortals. They needed less sleep, less food, less needs than a mortal— humans didn’t stand a chance.
The celestial realm’s war on the mortal plane has lasted fifty years. And for fifty years, Wukong has slept. The only beings that can wake him up are those of equal strength, someone to break the spell cast.
Only he can end the war, right?
( a beta drawing, not final to canon. I’m having a difficult time with that lmao)
