Hey, gentle recognition for the people who are taking care of themselves in "not aesthetically-pleasing" ways. To the people who have to do things they don't want to because they know they would suffer more if they didn't, to the people who have to brush their teeth with their fingers, to the people who have to use washcloths to bathe, to the people who need to punch pillows or scream into them to express their intense emotions, to anybody ashamed about the way they need to live and take care of themselves.
You are doing the very best you can with the hand you've been dealt. It's not easy, it's not pretty, but it sure as fuck takes so much to do these things. You are doing what is best for yourself, and I, for one, think you deserve to be proud of that. Self-care isn't easy. It isn't pretty, often, but it's something you shouldn't be ashamed of or hide away because it's deemed "grotesque" or "not really self-care (because self-care is pretty and non-threatening to 'normal peoples' senses)"

“I’m not vegan because of the cruel conditions of agricultural workers” and what about the slaughter workers who are struggling with ptsd? or the people in their household dealing with the violence they bring home? or the workers who go home and attempt to end their literal lives because of the graphic violence they enact daily? you don’t support amazon because of it’s cruel working conditions, yet slaughterhouse workers experience the exact same, if not far worse. you don’t go vegan because of the poor treatment towards people picking vegetables or growing quinoa, yet you don’t solely live off of meat and dairy and are buying unethically sourced vegetables anyways? why would you cause harm to both slaughterhouse workers and vegetable agriculture workers when you could reduce one of them to 0?

yeah I know Luke’s been running around saying he ‘can be a bit of a pessimist’ but I just wanna give him a little bit more credit than that. he’s been through so much and yet we’ll hear him talking about times that are ‘marred with trauma’ but still he can’t ever regret for getting him to where he is today. this whole year he’s been making an effort to do things that scare him and he even finds hard, he’s been pushing himself out of his comfort zone and doing 1000 solo interviews as well as his shows and last year he went to bogota to film 7 music videos in 2 days and believed he could do it and he did. he talks about mental health related things in such a way that’s filled with acceptance, not complaint or bitterness but dare I say even optimism, dropping horrifying little descriptions to already heartbreaking songs since 2021 and then turning around and saying writing songs is what gets him through it, he ‘wouldn’t have a good relationship with anything’ if he didn’t make them but he’s super proud of himself after and wasn’t put off by how much work it was gonna be even though it did make him apprehensive and he goes and mentions how it wasn’t easy. you look at everything we know of him for the last decade and a half and realise, maybe it was never easy. but someone once described optimism as curiosity + resilience rather than being naively happy all the time in denial of everything going on around. and with that active brain and all the things he figures out while writing all his beautiful songs there’s definitely curiosity there. and with everything he’s been through to keep choosing to be himself and do whatever he needs to do there’s so much resilience. and I’ve seen this spirit in the songs of sounds good feels good and 5sos5, as well as littered through wfttwtaf and boy; every project being a quiet, kinda emo, statement of survival. I’m just one fan with too many opinions but this is something I’ve always loved about the band, and a decent portion of it was always brought to the table by luke and idk I just think we should acknowledge it

qsmp is a server based on so much love.
it's tallulah still writing to her father after so long away from him, but also being so fiercely protected by q!philza and chayenne, treated like a princess by q!forever, given flowers by q!cellbit
it's roier having everyone join him in a thousand miles death road just for a small chance to see his son, and right after being sheltered by q!vegetta into a new family, having q!cellbit always check on him even if he tends to hide his sadness
it's q!slimecicle being gone for some time but as soon as he comes back q!etoiles (who he never met) gives him new armor so he can stay protected, then q!bbh and the eggs preparing a whole bag of resources and sweet flowers so he won't be so different from everyone else
it's q!cellbit going to hell and back just to have a minor chance of saving q!felps, and saying he would do it all again if q!felps would be fine
it's everyone getting together to protect the eggs, sharing armor stats and offering xp farms, getting together for quests and babysitting the eggs when their parents can't take care of them.
in a server with endless mystery, filled with different people from different parts of the world, the only constant theme that all of them fight for, is love.

reason #3299874 why i hate tennis twitter: i hate how idealistic it feels to say “omg we’re ALL sort of right.” like there should be a substantial middle ground here somewhere and instead it always feels like im being weirdly diplomatic. people are spreading misinformation about how drugs and drug tests work. people are ignoring the very real and EXPERT opinions that were used in the process of ruling. people are pretending to be oblivious to why players might find the whole scenario upsetting anyway. people are projecting their paranoia about doping onto a case where it isn’t applicable. people are using completely impermissible evidence to prove why he obviously did or didn’t dope. nick kyrgios is an idiot. and we’re going in circles and have gotten no where and at the end of the day whatever YOU say will not change the fact that he did in fact get two positive doping tests AND the experts supported a conclusion of no fault no negligence. so where does that leave us.

man i make such different critiques for uu and ls lmao
like for ls i tend to critique the members' actions while for uu i tend to critique its editing (i also do vice versa ofc but not nearly as often as those), ig this has something to do with my expectations of each respective server; for ls the member interactions are what im there for, while for uu the storytelling is what im there for. on the other hand i basically never critique plot points lmao, as far as im concerned shit just happens sometimes and thats ok
