anyone else thinking about effie spending 24 years watching haymitch completely fall apart. effie, who met haymitch by accident, who knows exactly what kind of person he is, who sees him every year on his birthday for 24 years and each year he’s drunker, each year he’s angrier, each year he’s faster to give up. and then they get katniss and peeta. peeta, who is kind and open and understanding, who refuses to give up on haymitch. and katniss, who is so much like haymitch at 16 that it hurts. and over the few days they’re together, effie watches haymitch come back to life. watches him try. watches him have hope. and then they get to keep not one but both of those kids. they get to come home. and then, less then a year later, effie pulls haymitch’s name at the reaping.

#the 75th reaping was a special hell for all four of them #katniss knew it would be her no matter what and effie couldn’t save her.#haymitch and peeta were going to volunteer for the other regardless #and god. just thinking of haymitch wanting to die for all those years and effie only being able to watch #because how could she know why? how could she understand what had been done to him?#and finally. FINALLY she sees the light come back to him because he loves katniss and he loves peeta #and for once there’s a chance he can keep them. i really don’t think it’s “typical dragon age fandom nonsense” for people to be genuinely upset about the world state choices. combat, level design, art direction, gameplay gimmicks, those have all varied across each dragon age game. the one thing that’s remained constant are nods to our previous choices.

i wasn’t expecting my HoF to come riding in on a griffon, but i can’t find a monument dedicated to warden tabris somewhere around the anderfels? lucanis couldn’t have some lines about the time that one arainai boy was stirring up trouble in antiva city? you’re gonna tell me that making a mage the new divine wouldn’t have some impact on nevarra and antiva? on the anderfels, the supposed most devout militant andrastian nation in thedas? you’re saying nobody in the north is paying attention to who rules orlais or ferelden? come on.

Something incredibly satisfying about knowing your craft and the confidence that goes with it. Just the casual “yeah I could make that”. Want a band tee? Yeah I can embroider my own with the lyrics I want. Bridesmaid dress too long? Yeah I can hem it. Need new slippers? Yeah I can crochet a pair (and give them bunny ears). And of course it’s not perfect but nothing beats that feeling of being able to craft your own solution with your own two hands

#this was prompted by watching nerdforge on YouTube #which I highly recommend they just made an office with a bed that moves as required because they wanted the space #and the “well we want this so we’re going to make it attitude #I aspire to #due to space and resources I’m stuck with limited textile arts but want to and will learn more #want to also sew my own clothes but see above re space #so doing mending and alterations for now which is still satisfying!!!#plus being able to make all your friends presents #rambles #crochet #embroidery #seeing #questwithambition
