Imagine what he could do at full power lol

This is a good question because honestly, i'm not even sure what got me into him in the first place. I spent around 4 months getting into DC and mostly sticking to the bats, then boom. Garth.

I think he hits a lot of notes for me that I like in a character, and honestly he's fun to read when he shows up in comics. He really means well and is a sensitive do-gooder, but can also have a bit of a temper and strong beliefs that he will defend. He also does a good job of rounding out any cast or ensemble they throw him in, which I appreciate. Plus magic! I love magic.

Of course I'm a sucker for a tragic backstory with some magical elements. Merman Lancelot I will love u forever. Abandoned, left for dead prince with latent, insanely powerful abilities only unlocked after being Put Through It? what's not to love.

Personally I also think its insane that there has been nothing done with the fact that he lived on his own and stayed alive from infancy to ~8-10 years old. HELLO thats a gold mine. idk I think about that aspect of his character and his relationship with Aquababy a lot. I think its sweet that even though he has nothing to work off of with no parents to speak of (to his knowledge) and being scared of getting replaced by the blood son, he still loves and takes care of that little baby.

I also love that one issue of titans 1999 where he leads the team. He's a capable, compassionate guy who's good at what he does. DC why did u take it all away..... bring him home

I tried to help you when I said that you lied about being a sorcerer because you were in love with Gwen, but you were so adamant that I was wrong. And then there was your ‘friend’ who did the magic in Ealdor. Not to mention your secret whispers with Lancelot. And then last night… I saw you with that man. I know who you are.

Merlin: Arthur, please, don’t hate me! I was born like this, it doesn’t make me a bad person.

Arthur: I know–

Merlin: And I know that you can’t trust me anymore and I understand. I’ll leave Camelot right now. I’ll never show my face here again. *crying* Just please spare my life!

Arthur: Woah, woah, sssh it’s ok. I’m not going to kill you. Or exile you for that matter.

Merlin: You’re not? But your father would have me burned at the stake.

Arthur: So I won't tell him. I don’t just blindly follow everything my father thinks, you know. Maybe I did at first –and I'm sorry for that– but I’ve come to accept it.

Merlin: Really?

Arthur: Of course. You’re my closest friend, I trust you with everything, that’s not going to change. And for what it’s worth, when I’m king, I’m going to change the laws. People like you should be treated as equals.

Merlin: Oh, thank gods. It means so much to hear you say that. Arthur, you should know, it's all for you. Everything I did last night, I only thought of you.

Arthur: *incredibly flustered* Oh, ok. I mean, I kind of thought that might be the case, but I didn't think you'd be so open about it.

Merlin: You knew?

Arthur: You're not as subtle as you think, I can’t help but notice the way that you look at me.

Merlin: *freaking out* Wait, what do you mean?

Arthur: It’s ok, I’m flattered, truly. Honestly, I’d probably be a bit offended if you weren’t attracted to me. But you’ve never crossed that line, and for that I am very grateful. It shows how strong our friendship is. *squeezes Merlin's shoulder*

Merlin: *blushing violently* Right. Yeah. Of course.

Arthur: You seem shocked. I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression, if you thought I-

Merlin: No, no it’s not that. Just, you really don’t mind?

Arthur: It doesn’t change a thing. You just don’t have to hide from me anymore.

Merlin: Yeah. And you’re not going to tell anyone?

Arthur: No, I wouldn’t betray you like that. And mainly because this means that I’ve just lost a bet with Gwaine and I really don’t want him finding out.

Thinking about Arthur trying to question Moody about why he was at Percy's flat and him just changing the subject with very little issue because Arthur doesn't even consider that he would be sleeping with his son but is still just nosy about it because obviously that was strange and he is a retired Auror so he's worried somethings happened

so he ends up coming out of this assuming that Percy's giving Alastor information even though he never actually said that and really they never actually talk about the war

so now every time Moody has some random info Arthur's assuming Percy told him and keeps quiet about that for obvious reasons

Also Kingsley seeing this convo happen but unlike Arthur almost immediately clocks it for what it is and is now the nosy one Moody has to deal with

"His conclusions are his own problem. As are yours."

also the vague idea of Moody not confirming anything to Kingsley either and Kingsley slyly saying something about hitting on Percy himself to see if it gets a reaction and it does(a really small one though) and that being what confirms it for him.
