Choose Budget-Friendly Accommodation: Instead of expensive hotels, consider staying in hostels, guesthouses, or Airbnb rentals. You can even try house sitting or couchsurfing for a unique and cheap place to stay.
Visit Free Attractions: There are plenty of amazing things to see in the UK that won't cost you anything. You can explore museums, landmarks, and parks for free. Look for free walking tours or explore on your own to discover hidden gems without spending any money. Are you ready to start a beautiful journey with your loved ones? This partnership will help you and your loved ones go on a wonderful journey.
Use Public Transportation: Getting around the UK doesn't have to be expensive. Take buses, trams, or trains instead of taxis or rental cars. Buying a travel pass or a railcard can also save you money on transportation.
Pack Wisely: Pack light and bring versatile clothes that you can mix and match. This way, you won't need to bring as much luggage, saving you money on baggage fees. Don't forget to bring reusable water bottles and snacks to avoid expensive purchases while you're out exploring.
Eat Like a Local: Instead of eating at fancy restaurants for every meal, try local street food markets, bakeries, and affordable eateries. You can also save money by buying groceries from budget supermarkets or having a picnic in a park.
Look for Discounts: Before you go, search for discounts and deals on attractions, restaurants, and shops. Many places offer discounts for students, seniors, or if you book in advance. Use websites, apps, and travel forums to find the best deals and save even more money.
Join Free Walking Tours: In the UK, many cities offer free walking tours led by friendly guides. These tours show you cool places and hidden spots, teaching you interesting things about the local culture and history. Best part? They don't cost anything! If you had fun, you can give the guide a tip at the end, but only if you want to.
Check Out Local Markets: Visit lively local markets to save money on food and souvenirs. You can find all sorts of stuff there, like fresh fruits, yummy homemade snacks, and unique gifts, all at good prices. Try out local foods and see if you can haggle with the sellers for even better deals.
Use Student Discounts: If you're a student, bring your student ID card along. Lots of places in the UK, like attractions, restaurants, and transportation, offer discounts to students. Just ask about student discounts wherever you go to save more money during your trip.
Have Picnics: Instead of eating out all the time, plan picnics in pretty spots around the UK. Buy fresh food from local markets or shops and enjoy eating outside in parks, gardens, or by the sea. It's not only cheaper but also lets you enjoy the lovely views while you eat.
Try Free Outdoor Fun: The UK has amazing outdoor places you can explore for free. You can go hiking in national parks, walk along beautiful coastal paths, or ride bikes through scenic countryside. These activities let you enjoy nature without spending any money, keeping your trip budget-friendly.
By following these tips, you can have an amazing adventure in the UK without spending a lot of money. Whether you're exploring historic landmarks or trying delicious local food, you'll have a great time knowing that you're getting the most out of your travel budget. Cocky (LS) 18+
lance stroll x driver!reader
word count: 4k
look i'm as iffy on lance as the next person but i had a vision. this is a longer one so buckle up
Lance's POV
"Good shot man," Lando told Lance after he hit on to the green. The two had been golfing all day, blowing off steam before racing took back over their lives in the coming weeks. They picked up their bags and started down towards where they hit.
"So what's y/n's deal?" Lance asked Lando causally, trying to be nonchalant. Lando tossed him a look of surprise.
"What do you mean?"
"Is she single or...?"
Lando smirked. Y/n was one of his best friends on the grid. The American woman had raced with him since they were 12 and now drove for Haas. She was a ruthless competitor and even scared Lando a bit sometimes. Lando had always admired how she didn't pay the media any mind with her easy "i don't give any fucks" attitude. She had already been called the next Kimi Räikkönen. Off the track, she gave off cool girl energy vs. the sweet kind. Everyone on the grid wanted to be friends with her even if he didn't have a really good reason as to why.
"Yeah, she's single," he said. "Why? Trying to hit?"
"Dude, I know she's your friend but we both know she's hot as fuck," Lance said looking over. Lando shrugged.
"Of course I know that, but I didn't really think she was your type."
"How so?"
"Every girl I have ever seen you with looks at you like you created life itself," Lando said. "Y/n will not play the submissive little role you want."
"I like a challenge," Lance said cockily and Lando laughed.
Y/n's POV
Lando had called you immediately after he got done golfing to inform you that somehow you were now in Lance's sights. You didn't really pay any attention to that. You did not like Lance. It wasn't really fair, as you actually didn't know him that well but he represented a lot of what you were not. You'd grown up with a single dad after your mom had passed away when you were a child. Your dad started working 12 hours a day once he realized that this racing hobby wasn't going to go away.
Not being able to afford moving overseas, you had lived with a host family in the UK so that you were able to travel to more karting races in a budget friendly way. You had fought tooth and nail to get your F1 seat and you couldn't really say the same about Lance. He was attractive though, you could admit that. He had some kind of cocky, brooding vibe going that you were definitely into. And him being one of the few drivers that were 6 foot was a plus.
After that golfing day you had noticed his presence way more than usual. You'd seen him around Monaco at the club, hanging out with Lando more, and at PR events. He had been noticeably closer to you, always almost hovering. The amusing thing though was that you still hadn't really talked to him. It was like the two of you were doing a silent dance.
Tonight you were way out of your comfort zone, and actually happy to find a familiar face in Lance. You'd been invited to a charity gala that Haas was involved with. Your teammate, Ollie, couldn't make it so you were unfortunately on your own. Lance was there of course, as his father was a top donor, and you spied him sipping a drink by the bar, dressed in a nice fitted suit. His eyes drank you in as he watched you make your way towards him.
"Y/n," he drawled. "What a pleasant surprise."
"I would say the same, but it's a party for the rich to remind everyone how rich they are so it wouldn't be real if you weren't here," you shot back and he smirked.
"Can I get you a drink?" You nodded and watched him carelessly lift his finger up to the bartender, gaining his attention immediately to order you a glass of wine. There was something so attractive to you about how he fit so perfectly in a moment like this.
"Enjoying the night?" He asked and you shrugged. This was not your kind of thing. Old rich men, blatantly hitting on you in front of their wives was also not your thing.
"Well only one comment from someone about how "they don't know what they'd do if they had a daughter that looked like me," so I would say it's going alright," you joked but watched Lance's eyes darken.
"Who?" He said and you sipped your wine, watching him curiously.
"It doesn't matter," you said and he leaned in closer to you.
"Tell me who."
Sighing, you turned your head scanning the room. You found the guy who had said it with his hand on a waitress's arm, clearly continuing a conversation she did not want. You wordlessly pointed him out and Lance leaned back motioning over a guy who was sporting an ear piece. He whispered something to the guy before turning back to you.
"What are you doing?"
"Don't worry about it sweetheart," he said smirking and you rolled your eyes at the term of endearment. You turned to people watch for a bit, enjoying getting to watch people make fools of themselves. A commotion caught your attention and you watched as the gross guy from earlier was arguing with what looked like to be security as they were escorting him out. You looked back at Lance who didn't say anything, just kept casually watching the scene.
Turning back, your back was hovering dangerously close to the Lance's chest and as someone brushed past you to get to the bar, you felt his arm come around you waist, pulling you into him. He didn't say anything and neither did you, so you kept on enjoying observing the party.
After a bit, people were taking to the dance floor to dance and you turned, pulling Lance's drink from his hand and setting it down. He looked at you curiously as you slid your hand into is dragging him to the floor. Settling one hand around his neck you pressed into him, breathing in his expensive cologne.
"What game are you playing at?" He whispered into your ear causing you to smirk.
"No game," you said, looking up at him. "Just bored."
Rolling his eyes, he moved his hand lower, pinching your ass which caused you to gasp. Amusement danced in his eyes as you gave him a look.
As the night came to a close, you followed him outside to the valet to get your car.
"Come home with me?" He asked and you brought your lips up to kiss his cheek.
"I'm not that easy sweetheart," you replied before turning to thank the guy for bringing your car around. Giving Lance one final look, you winked before dipping down into your seat.
One week later
The Friday before race week you found yourself enjoying the weird remixes Lando comes up with as they blasted through his apartment. It was supposed to be a casual thing but as more and more people poured through the door you regretted not wearing something nicer.
You were sitting on top of the kitchen island, chatting with Ollie and actively ignoring Lance who had been burning a hole in the side of your head for the last half hour.
"I'm kind of scared he's going to kill me," Ollie said nervously and you tilted your head in question. "Lance. You know the guy who looks like he's trying to figure out how much it would cost an assassin to kill me?"
You laughed loudly, sparing a look over at Lance who had his arms crossed and was frowning.
"Are you two seeing each other or something?" He said panicking. "Oh my god am I the other woman?"
"No we aren't seeing each other and I would protect you with my life," you said making the boy relax. That didn't last long as he bolted away the second he saw Lance making his way towards you. Resting hands on either side of you, you rolled your eyes.
"You scared him away," you pouted.
"I wanted to talk to you," he said simply.
"You could have just came over here like a normal person."
"I'm tired of playing cat and mouse," he said. "Let me fuck you."
Your eyes widened at his crude words as he left you genuinely speechless. You let him pull you off the counter and lead you out of Lando's apartment.
"You live here right?" He asked and you nodded, moving towards the elevator with him close behind. The ride was silent as you avoided meeting his eye in the reflection. Your eyes settled instead on the way his tshirt was tight around his chest and the gray sweatpants that just really do the thing ya know? You bit your lip, feeling yourself growing warm at what was about to go down.
Walking into your apartment you watched as Lance took it in. You'd lived here for the last two years and had tried to make it as cozy as possible with pictures of back home littered along the walls. Your favorite part though, was the wall behind your couch. It was floor to ceiling bookshelves filled with your very large collection of books.
Lance smiled at the books before looking back at you. You wrapped your arms around his neck pulling him closer to you. His hands found your waist as he dipped his head to meet your lips in a bruising kiss. You tugged at his hair causing him to groan into you which made you smirk. His hand slapped your ass hard in retaliation and he took advantage of your open gasp to shove his tongue in your mouth.
"Bedroom," you said panting as you came up for air and he leaned down to pick you up. You met his lips again as he carried you to your bedroom, laying you gently on the bed. Resting on your elbows, you watched as he pulled off his shirt. His time playing tennis on the side really had paid off. Next went his sweats so that all he was left in were his boxers.
"Your turn sweetheart," he said and you moved up to your knees. You pulled off the top you were wearing, revealing that you weren't wearing a bra. Lance was in a trance watching you, which made you smirk.
"Can you help me?" You asked innocently and he nodded quickly moving towards you. You laid back on the bed as he pulled your sweats off, taking in the lace thong that was in underneath.
"Wear this for me?" He teased and you leaned up.
"Maybe," you replied biting your lip. That sent him over the edge and he literally ripped them off of you.
"Lance what the fuck," you complained. "I liked those."
"I'll buy you the whole fucking store as long as you only wear them for me," he said and you felt your core throb at his words.
"You'd bett-" His tongue on your clit stopped you mid thought as you moaned out. He took his time, lazily dragging it up and down. You pushed your hips against his face in desperation and his arms came around you holding your hips in place.
"Patience," he tsked and you whined in protest. Taking pity on you, he entered a finger, curling it up against your g-spot causing your mind to go numb. Keeping the one finger in, he massaged your g-spot as his tongue assaulted your clit while you became a whimpering mess. You didn't even have energy to tell him you were cumming, clenching around his finger, your back arching off the bed.
Lance kept going, his mouth latched around you until you pushed him off.
"Too sensitive," you whimpered and he gave you a huge grin. He got off the floor and moved up to you giving you a short kiss. Surprising him, you pulled him down and maneuvered your way on top.
Pulling his boxers down, his dick slapped up against his skin and you took a sharp breath as you took in the size. Lance started to say something but you had started grinding your pussy along the length of him, and his breath hitched. He brought his hand up to one of your breasts, circling his thumb around your nipple.
Eventually you gripped him up and slowly slid down causing him to throw his head back against the wall. Moving your hands on his chest to support you, you started moving up and down. Rolling your hips into him made Lance groan out and dig his fingers harshly into your waist.
As you felt yourself getting closer you started moving faster against him.
"Come on sweetheart, use me," he rasped out and you leaned forward wrapping your hands around his throat as you rutted against him, chasing your high. "Fuck baby."
"Yeah you like that? You like me choking you," you said breathlessly. His hand hit your ass hard and that finally sent you over the edge, crying out as your orgasm crashed against you. Before you even had time to think, he flipped you over shoving your head into the pillows before slipping back in.
He gripped your hips hard and started pounding into you. Lance yanked your head up by your hair holding you into his chest as he spilled into you.
Pulling out, he set you down gently and you tried to come back to life. You heard him go to the bathroom and rolled over looking at your phone to see a text asking where you went from Lando. You replied quickly before seeing Lance come back with a wet towel in his hands. You winced as it touched your inner thighs and Lance looked up at you.
"Did I hurt you?" He asked and you shook your head silently. You weren't used to this gentle side of him. He put the towel away before putting his sweats back on and sliding in next to you. You turned over, laying your head on his chest and felt his arm wrap around you. Snuggling into him, you drifted off.
Leaving Lance in bed the next morning you were deep in thought while making pancakes. This was unknown territory. First of all, you never let one-night stands sleep over. But this was Lance and you knew him. You were sure it was definitely a one-night stand but then you weren't sure. You admittedly had enjoyed spending time with him the past month but your mind went back to what Lando had said. He just wanted to hook up. Maybe it was better to just move on like it hadn't happened.
"Hey," his voice said, pulling you out of your thoughts. You turned to see him staring at you, running a hand through his hair.
"Hey," you said nonchalantly. "Are you staying for breakfast or no?"
"I should probably head out," he said. This was what he had decided would be his test to see what you were thinking about last night. Would you want him to stay or not?
"Cool, I'll see you in Zandvort then," you said casually and turned back to your food. He didn't want to stay you thought to yourself.
She doesn't want me to stay, Lance thought and pulled his shirt over his head before heading out.
Wednesday night before the Dutch GP
Lando had been pestering you about Lance nonstop on the flight to Zandvort.
"I just don't believe that this is just another one night stand," he said eyeing you suspiciously.
"I don't know what to tell you Lando," you replied not looking up from your phone. "We were two consenting adults looking to blow off steam."
"Yeah but the pictures from the gala, come on, there is at least something there," he said.
"First of all, stop looking at gossip pages and second of all, he didn't want to stay and that's okay," you said. "Could there have been potentially something more? Maybe, but he left."
"Well did you ask him to stay?"
"I didn't tell him to leave."
Lando threw up his hands in defeat. "You are impossible."
You spent the hour after landing in an all drivers meeting where you had seen Lance for the first time since that night. He nodded towards you but made no move forward. You were petty back, choosing to sit on the far end of the table away from him at the dinner after the meeting. Some of the WAGs were there so you spent a lot of time talking to Alex Albon's gf Lily and subtly glancing at Lance every so often. Lando caught you once smirking which resulted in you kicking his shins causing him to yell out.
Towards the end of the night you were contemplating going over there but the next time you looked up, he was talking to a random blonde who was clearly flirting with him. You watched him flirt back and an unknown feeling washed over your body. You were upset? Something about him flirting with someone else was hurting you and you were shocked to feel yourself getting teary eyed.
Abruptly, you stood up, mumbling something about being tired and avoiding Lando's concerned glance. Lance's attention was now on you and he caught your eyes, his own widening when he noticed but you quickly vanished. He shot a confused look at Lando who looked from Lance to the blonde before getting up to catch up to you.
"Y/n," Lando called out and you slowed allowing him to catch up to you. You had called an Uber already and were just waiting for it to arrive.
"What's wrong with me?" You said, turning to Lando, a few tears falling down your face. He pulled you into his arms, rubbing your back.
"It's okay," he murmured as more tears leaked out of your face.
"I don't even like him like that," you said pulling back and Lando gave you a sympathetic look. "Fuck."
The Uber pulled up and you both climbed into it and headed back to the hotel.
--------------------------------
Lance's POV
Being race day, most of the drivers were in the zone even early in the morning but Lance didn't care anymore as he hunted Lando down, finally cornering him at McLaren.
"What did I do wrong?" He begged Lando. "She won't look at me, she basically bolts from every room I enter, she won't answer my texts."
Lando shifted from one foot to another, not knowing what to say. Lance went on.
"I thought she just wanted it to be one night. She didn't ask me to stay and never texted me after. But then what happened Wednesday? She looked at me, clearly upset and left. And now this."
"I think she's just confused," Lando finally says. "I think initially she thought it would be a one-time thing, but seeing you flirt with that girl made it real."
"Fucking hell," Lance said, running a hand through his hair. "She didn't ask me to stay!"
"Well, she didn't ask you to leave?" Lando said hesitantly and Lance glared at him.
Y/n's POV
Your team did its final checks before giving you a thumbs up and running off the track. You locked in, ready to race and took off into lap one. Your first ten laps were great. Starting in P12, you had already passed two others and were looking for a third overtake.
One second, everything was fine. The next second you felt someone clip your back wheel causing you to spin out into the car in front of you and flip. The world went black.
Then you were back. Someone was yelling your name. Lance? You looked up to see him prying your helmet off, eyes wild with panic. Trying to move your legs, you started to freak out when you couldn't get your right one to budge.
"I can't move my leg," you said panicking. "I can't move my leg!"
Two arms wrapped under your arms and pulled you out of the car. The sudden movement triggered a wave of dizziness and you stumbled a little. Lance picked you up bridal style and behind the loud ringing in your ears you could hear him screaming at someone.
"Where is the fucking medical team?" He screamed. You were going in and out of consciousness. The next moment of clarity came being loaded in the ambulance. You saw Lance being held back by stewards and you mumbled his name reaching out. They finally let go, allowing him in the ambulance and then the world went black again.
---------------------------------------------
Waking up you were confused. You knew you were in a hospital room but this one was so nice it felt like it wasn't real. Your bed was bigger, there was a nice couch next to the bed, a massive flat screen tv, and what looked to be like a fully stocked fridge.
Your head throbbed and you looked down to see that you were not in a hospital gown but an Aston Martin tshirt. Your right leg was propped up, knee wrapped with ice.
"Hey sleepy head," Lando called out as he walked in, relieved to see you awake.
"Why am I in the fanciest hospital room ever?" You questioned and he snorted.
"That would be because Lance had the most Karen-like meltdown I have ever seen when they put you in a normal room. His dad had to pay someone off who had recorded it."
You soaked in that information. Where was he then? Lando saw your puzzled expression.
"Currently he is forcing your doctor here to consult with his family doctor back home about what appears to be a concussion and a torn ACL oddly enough."
"I remember him pulling me out, did he crash too?"
"Yeah, when Esteban hit you, you flipped into Lance. I'm sure you remember some of it after but the videos are crazy. He was a madman holding you."
You heard voices from the hallway and sucked in a breath as the man himself walked into the room. He stopped when he saw that you were awake and just stared.
"I'll show myself out then, I'll see you at home," Lando said, leaning in to kiss your forehead before leaving. Lance nodded to him as he left before slowly making his way to your side, pulling up a chair to sit in.
"I'm guessing this shirt is courtesy of you," you said, breaking the ice. He nodded, taking your hand into his caressing your skin softly. "So what's the verdict, when can I go home?"
"Later today, I have the jet already to go for us when we are ready," he said and you nodded.
"Lando is heading back now, and he's getting stuff from your apartment to drop off at my place," he said nonchalantly and your head snapped up to him.
"What are you talking about?"
"You are staying with me for the time being."
He noticed your anger rising and kept going.
"Look I'm done doing this whole do you like me or not thing. The answer was clear when you stormed out of that restaurant. I live in a million-dollar condo with a full staff which will be a lot more comfortable for you. You can stay in whatever room you want, though I would prefer you stayed in mine."
You crossed your arms glaring at him.
"You are insufferable." He leaned closer to you holding your face in both of his hands.
"I don't care," he said. "When you passed out in my arms I was scared out of my mind that I would lose you. Life is short and I'm not wasting more time not being with you."
Your heart swelled at his words, breaking your resolve about the temporary move thing. You leaned forward, kissing him softly.
"Now let's see that video of you having a karen meltdown," you said with a wicked grin.

Hi! Do you think any of the Anubis kids would be friends if they weren't forced to live in the same house?
It was very funny how the cast only interacted with their house because of the show's budget, but yes I do in some ways!
Amber: I think Amber and Mick would have always dated at some point, and may or may not have split up around the same time or a little later, as they only dated to fufill aesthetic purposes. It "made sense" for the fashionable popular girl to date the sporty boy. I don't think Amber would have been friends with Mara or Patricia, but I think she would speak with Joy a decent amount. She would know of Alfie and Jerome because of their pranks, and probably feel the same about them as she did before the show started. I don't think she would have spoken to Fabian, at least until Nina arrived. I believe she would have become friends with Nina, if not just to ask her about the fashion in places like New York and California.
Mick: I think he would have only really been friends with Amber, but when Mara started to get a crush on him I think she would have offered to help him study because she wants to help him.
Mara: Would be friends with Patricia solely based on the fact that in the beginning of the show the two were very close before Patricia got more involved in a mystery, and I think that would happen the same even in different houses, because it wasn't like they were friends because they were roommates. (Amber and Patricia didn't swap rooms until later). I think she'd be friendlier to Nina in the very beginning because not being in the same house would mean Patricia had less of a reason to distrust her. I think she would get the same crush on Mick, because her reasons for liking him were very cut and dry, he's attractive. I think she'd also be friends with Fabian, and have a friendly, academic rival thing going on.
Alfie: Would still be friends with Jerome, they had a lot of common interests and family issues to bond over. Would probably be even better friends because being in different houses means they could try to outdo each other in prank wars, by pranking the housemates of each other's respective houses.
Joy: I still think she would admire Amber and talk to her, as well as still being best friends with Patricia. I don't know why, but there are just some friendships that outlive whether you live in the same dorms or not. I don't think she'd talk to Mara, Mick, Alfie, or Jerome. I also think that she'd actually be WAY better friends with Nina after the events of season one, because even though she wasn't the chosen one, it wasn't like Nina had "replaced" every aspect of her to take her spot. Would still have a crush on Fabian.
Patricia: Best friends with Joy, associated with Fabian because of Joy's crush. Also really good friends with Mara, and I think she'd be good with Jerome and Alfie as well, since they could still mess around and cause trouble together. So out of all the students, she's the one hanging out with everyone still, interestingly enough. She'd even cross path's with Mick because of Mara's crush. So the only one I don't think she'd talk to is Amber, and likely Nina.
Jerome: Similar to Alfie, he hangs with him and Patricia the most still. Also loves to mess with specifically Mick, because his annoyance with him started well before Mara started to be interested in him. I think he would still have crushes on both Mara and Joy, because when their paths would cross, they'd still happen to get him to open up about his family and other things. I don't want to talk about Willow. Interestingly enough, for some reason I'd see him hanging out with Nina as well, both to spite Fabian who would still have a crush on her, but to see how easily he could make the American believe whatever he says about the UK. (This didn't happen in the show obviously because Jerome followed Patricia and Nina got swooped up in the mystery right on episode one).
Fabian: Oh, he'd still be falling for Nina, for sure. Friends with Joy more than Patricia, hangs out with Mara on occasion to talk about Nerd stuff, but he wouldn't talk with Mick, Alfie, or Amber. I actually do think he'd be talking with Jerome for some reason, because Jerome lives to antagonize people, and Fabian is a fun target.
Nina: Would hang casually with Amber, Jerome, and Mara, would think Alfie's pranks are harmless fun likely. I think at the end of season one-through season two she'd be better friends with Joy, and Joy and Mara would lead her to being kinda friends with Patricia. Also think she would crush on Fabian <3
This was really fun to think about! Thanks!

Do you want to support fundraising efforts but feel overwhelmed?
As a white auDHD* person engaged in mutual aid efforts, I have some advice. Take what works for you, leave the rest. These strategies have been effective for me, and while not perfect, they can be beneficial. The important part is to *do* something.
See posts at a time that doesn't work for you? Save them somewhere for later and set a dedicated time each day/week/month to work through your list and move funds around.
Overwhelmed because of the sheer volume of asks? Create a system that works for you - give to the next one you see, prioritize the ones that are the closest or furthest from making their goal, etc. The only bad system is one that doesn't get people funds.
Worried that you're sending too little? It all adds up! 100 people sending $5 is $500. Consider finding a match to double your impact! That said, don't sit too comfy with your contributions, especially if you're financially privileged. If $5 is comfortable for you, bump up to $10 and so on.
Worried about sending too much? Set a budget. Stick to it. I will say, from experience, that this is highly unlikely and most of us have more than we think. You may find you can sacrifice some luxuries to help others in need.
Person you want to support is in a different country/currency/use a pay app/website you can't? The easy answer to this is to find someone else to support. But there are ways to work around this. Use your friends and networks to move money around. Paypal from Canada to the US and forward via Venmo. Use Wise to transfer from the UK to Canada and forward via etransfer. Etc etc etc.
Genuinely cannot afford to part with any funds? Share directly with your networks and include a call to action. It can be overwhelming and counteractive to reblog/forward every fundraiser. Instead, create a system with clear and appropriate boundaries.
Concerned about scams? Examine your suspicions of scams - these often arise from biases. Check resources for validity. When in doubt, help someone else. No need to report suspected scammers - just say no and move on.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* always always always send as friends and family. This lessens fees and taxes for the recipient.
Make fund redistribution a core aspect of your life. Incorporate it into your budget. Send funds at regular intervals based on how your income works. Dedicating 5-10% of your income is a really great place to start.
Feel free to add other tips and advice in the tags. Friendly reminders that shame is not an effective motivator and sustainable action is imperative.
*I specify this because a lot of flavours of neurodivergence deal with black and white thinking and/or perfectionism and it impacts our ability to *do* things. These are also tenets of white supremacy and do require us to actively work against them, even when it's uncomfortable/distressing.
massive massive thank you to @bbreaddog for proofing this for me <3
#mutual aid#collective care#community care#reparations#fund redistribution#donations#god i'm absolutely terrified to let this out into the wild but i know that people get stuck and sometimes all we need is a gentle push#or some guidance#it would be great if people just knew things and took action accordingly but the world doesn't work that way#and i wish i'd had this information years ago when i was just figuring things out myself

A/N: Requests from four anons and some of my own ideas. I thought in honour of Tom’s Jonathan Pine look making a comeback and the prospect of a Season 2, now is the perfect time for some spicy spy action! Enjoy, everyone!
Words: 2881 Warnings: smut
After Roper’s death, a lot in our own life changed. You moved away from Spain and back to the UK with a fresh start in your suitcase. Your new job in the publishing industry enabled you to meet the authors of the books you were passionate about and you could help discover new talents whose stories would enrich countless readers’ bookshelves.
It was peaceful now. Safer—for at no fault of your own, it hadn’t always been like that. You were young when you fled to sunny Spain to discover yourself, learned Spanish to the point of fluency and started a job at the local library that regularly held readings for both adults and children.
It all went well, for a while. Right until little Danny Roper stepped foot in the library for the first time, accompanied by two brooding bodyguards and a charming British gentleman you, for some reason, instantly mistrusted.
Richard Roper, a wealthy businessman with a mansion all to himself. Perhaps it was unfair to assume he had blood on his hands because of how heavy his wallet was but your instinct had never betrayed you before. Soon, little Danny Roper regularly came to visit the little library, took part in the readings and had you recommend new stories to him, always under the scrutinising eye of his bodyguards or his father.
On the night of Halloween, everything changed. The kids loved the spooky holiday. They were allowed to wear costumes for the themed reading that night and you spent the entire evening before long after the library had closed decorating for the occasion. The sweets you had bought for the kids to eat had come out of your budget but seeing their wide eyes upon entering the small library on the 31st had been worth every single penny—or cent, in this case—spent.
Danny Roper came too. Dressed in a mummy costume with a face full of paper-white make-up and armed with an orange pumpkin basket for his sweets, he was one of the first kids to make himself comfortable in the reading corner in the front row. But there was someone else with them that night. Someone you had never seen around before. He didn’t look like a new bodyguard but he was handsome. Blue eyes, a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, a five o’clock shadow, and dark-blond hair you instantly felt the urge to ruffle. Your heart skipped a beat when he locked eyes with you for the first time. You could practically feel his intrigued gaze burning through your skin when you read some child-friendly Halloween stories to the kids and from then on… he kept on coming back. Sometimes in the company of Danny and his bodyguards, sometimes alone. And each and every single time he asked you for recommendations for a new horror book, borrowed one, and returned the old one giving you detailed and positive feedback that he usually delivered with a charming, British smile.
You realised soon enough that his regular visits were but an excuse to see you again—but he remained distant, never made a move to ask for your number or a date. Perhaps it was for the best, you thought at the time. If he was with Roper then he was not to be messed with, a dangerous man to be around, and not the type of guy you should wish to be affiliated with.
“I’m glad Danny asked me to join him on Halloween. You have made this place truly special,” he had said one day. “Have you known them long? The Ropers?”
Alarm bells. Alarm bells loud and clear had rang in your head and almost drowned out the sound of your book scanner when he’d slid yet another horror novel towards you on the counter.
“Only for about a year. Danny has picked up so many children’s books I will need to restock to find new novels for him at this point. Richard Roper donated ten thousand euros to the library back in January.”
“Are you the owner of this library then?”
“Oh no, I only work here. But I am in charge of all the boring accounting paperwork.” Whatever had lit up in Jonathan’s blue eyes, was gone again before you’d had a chance to analyse it. But it had been suspicious enough for you to gather all of your courage, and look around briefly to ensure you were alone.
“I… can I give you some advice? Leave. As long as you still can. Something’s not right about this man. I don’t know what that poor kid is caught up in but my hands are tied,” you had told him with a lowered voice.
Jonathan had frowned at you, pressed his lips together to a thin line. Then, without another word, he had picked up his novel and left the store.
The following night, he’d appeared seemingly out of nowhere after you’d closed the library for the day and asked you out for dinner. One dirty martini afterward led to two and that very same night, you fell asleep in Jonathan Pine’s bed in a luxurious hotel room he was staying in for reasons he had not elaborated on much.
A couple of evenings and more passionate sex—the best sex you’d ever had—later, you had shown him the donation certification, complete with all the relevant bank details. Confidential data which could have gotten you into big trouble, both with the library and Richard Roper himself. A few more nights after that… Jonathan disappeared for a while and you realised that he had only used you—and your body—for information.
It had baffled you back then, when, almost a month after, he showed up on the doorstep of the library, beaten, bruised, and half-dead. No police, no hospital, he had murmured over and over and you, having fallen in love with the man unconditionally, had hidden him and nursed him back to health. For weeks on end, Jonathan Pine lay low in the cellar that acted as an inventory for the library, living off of takeaway food you smuggled down to him day after day. He told you everything. How he had been sneaked into Roper’s family as a spy to put an end to his schemes at long last, how Roper sold deadly weapons that killed hundreds of people, and how incredibly sorry he was for putting you in all this danger.
One night, while he was still recovering from his injuries and you stayed in the library with him to make sure he didn’t develop a fever, he whispered your name in his sleep, hands blindly attempting to reach you, touch you, explore you, and pull you close.
He confessed he was in love with you the morning after and a few weeks later, after Roper had finally been arrested, you moved back to the UK with him. Here you were now, climbing up the career ladder in the publishing industry.
Jonathan had left his spy days behind for now and accepted a job as the night manager in a lovely hotel in the heart of Switzerland over the winter. You’d be apart for a few months and it had broken your heart to hear of it even though you were more than happy for him and the opportunity he had been offered.
Two weeks after his departure, your boss had asked you to join her on a business trip to that very same hotel to meet with an internationally best-selling author whose next book series was going to be translated into thirteen languages.
Jonathan didn’t know you had just landed in Switzerland. He didn’t know you were coming to stay at his hotel. The name the rooms were booked under was your boss’ assistant who Jonathan had never met before. Needless to say, when you entered the lobby and the warm air enveloped you welcomingly, scaring away the Swiss winter air, his stunning blue eyes widened. You failed to suppress your smirk, knowing very well how much he was struggling with remaining polite and professional—after all, you were with your boss and her assistant.
“Good evening! Sorry, our flight was delayed a little. I’ve got three rooms booked under the name Elsa Higgins?” the latter greeted him.
“Ah, yes, Ms. Higgins! Good evening, ladies. Please, allow me to welcome you to the Meisters. My name is Jonathan Pine and I’m the night manager. May I offer you any refreshments?”
Your boss shook the snow off of her beret and began taking off her winter coat. Jonathan was by her side instantly, helping each and every one of you out of your winter gear—even though with you, his touch lingered for just a second too long, his fingertips brushing against the back of your neck. You shivered. Fuck, you had missed him so much.
“Thank you, Mr. Pine,” you mused, watching him struggle a bit with how you addressed him before he poured you all a glass of champagne. Then, he moved behind the counter to sort out your rooms and hand you your keys while the concierges busied themselves with your suitcases and disappeared out of sight quickly.
“Our concierges will be taking up your luggage at once, as you can see. Is there anything else I can do for you in the meantime? Have you had dinner yet?”
“We have, thank you. We’re just very tired from the flight. Could you show us to our rooms? This hotel is so big, I feel like I’m gonna get lost!”
“Of course, dar-, Miss. Please, follow me.” He caught himself before the word “darling” could escape his lips. Chuckling to yourself, you stared at his sexy back and entered the lift right after him.
“He is so hot!” your boss whispered to you. Heavens, he was. He looked so handsome in that navy blue suit and the white shirt… and that tie! You had to remember to get rid of those damp panties of yours later and sneak them into his pockets somehow—because the mere thought of him taking off that tie and using it to bind your wrists together got you so wet you had to clench your legs on the way up. If only your boss and her equally yearning assistant knew you regularly had the pleasure to fuck this man…
Jonathan was reluctant to leave you behind after letting you know about the breakfast times, the pool opening times, and that he was at your service for anything at all, at all times during the night. And oh, you might just take him up on that offer…
“Thank you, Mr. Pine. I’ll be sure to call if I need anything.” You excused yourself to the bathroom and when you came back, yours and the door of your boss were still wide open, denying you the privacy you craved. Besides, Mr. Jonathan Pine had to remain professional at work. You chuckled once more, making quick work of stuffing your spoiled panties into his suit jacket. He pretended not to be fazed by it but for a spy, he was pretty bad at hiding how much he was struggling with keeping his composure.
But that was only the beginning. You were feeling adventurous tonight. And so, after wishing your boss and her assistant a good night, you got ready for bed, making yourself comfortable on the soft mattress and the lavender-scented bed sheets completely naked, and then used the phone on the nightstand to call the reception. It was shortly past two am by now. Surely, the lobby was deserted.
You hummed contently when he picked up and purred your last name with a seductive ‘Miss’ in front of it into the speaker. “What can I do for you?”
“Oh, you see… I’m so lonely in this big suite, Mr. Pine. So very lonely. Is there a way you could keep me company? I am so tense from the journey,” you mused, dragging out your last “so” to the point you could hear him breathe heavily on the other end of the line.
Jonathan cleared his throat. There was absolutely no way he hadn’t discovered yet just what exactly you had shoved into his pocket. He was probably clutching at it with his free hand right now.
“Ah, well, I am afraid our masseuses don’t start their shift until seven am, Miss, but perhaps I can arrange some other… form of… relief for you.” His voice became raspier and darker the more words escaped his lips.
“Really? That would be quite wonderful. You see, Mr. Pine, the sheets are so soft and comfortable, I figured I don’t even need any sleepwear.”
Jonathan took a deep breath. A short moment of pregnant silence followed and then, “I’ll be right up, Miss.” With that, he hung up.
You giggled to yourself, counting the seconds. He must have taken the steps, for only forty-three strikes of the second hand on the clock above the massive sofa in the suite later, you heard a gentle knock on your door.
Rushing over on bare feet, you hid behind it as you opened it for him to conceal your nakedness from the bright lights in the hallway, the both of you drowning in comfortable darkness and only the pale moon shining through the massive windows illuminating both your features as soon as he’d closed the door again behind him.
“I have ten minutes,” he murmured out of breath before his lips came crashing down on yours. You laughed against his mouth, his feverish urgency instantly infecting you. Jonathan’s touch was like a fire ignited inside of you by the single stroke of a match. Step after step, he guided you back towards your bed without ever breaking the battle of tongues you fought out, his hands exploring your naked curves and kneading your butt cheeks thoroughly before pushing you down on the mattress.
Jonathan was above you within a fraction of a second, one of his knees keeping your legs apart, his hand snatching your wrists and pinning them down above your head. Finally, he released your lips to let you catch your breath for a moment.
“Naughty girl, slipping your used underwear into my pockets… you little tease…”
“Aw, I thought you’d appreciate my little gift,” you mocked—your chuckle soon turned into a moan, however, when he gently bit the underside of your left breast, followed by his tongue tasting your nipple.
Jonathan’s dark growl was unlike anything you had ever heard from him when his one free hand struggled to undo his belt and the buttons of his suit trousers. You were pretty certain he hadn’t even taken his shoes off but by the time he finally managed to push the fabric down to his upper thighs, he was as hard as a rock, his red tip leaking precum teasing your entrance.
There was no need for him to prepare you. You had been soaked and ready for him ever since your arrival at the hotel. Jonathan wasted no time. He positioned himself swiftly, pulling your legs apart even further, and then, sheathed himself inside of you with but one fluid movement.
The both of you moaned in unison, his forehead resting against yours. Jonathan kissed you again when he pulled out to thrust up into you, your hips bucking to meet him. His free hand remained where it was—right between your legs where your bodies were joined.
As he fucked you hungrily, his fingers quickly found a little toy to play with—and knowing Jonathan, he was a skilled lover. He had you on the brink of orgasm in no time, his rhythm relentless and his strokes hard.
You arched your back the closer you crept to the edge, breaking his kiss to gasp for air and throw your head back which he instantly took as an invitation to taste your neck and assault it with gentle licks, bites, and kisses.
It was the moment he released your wrists and placed one of your legs on his shoulder to rut into you even deeper, his tip brushing against all the right spots, that made you come undone underneath him. Clenching around his length, he fucked you through your climax until he too found release, only fuelling your arousal when you felt ropes of his seed coating your walls, his member jerking inside of you until eventually, he stilled and embraced you without ever pulling out of you.
“How are you even here?” he finally asked. “I’m so happy to see you, darling.”
“That I could tell.” You grinned, grinding against him and eliciting a little whimper from him in the process. “My boss is meeting a client here. She asked me to come with her, it was quite last minute. I could have called you but I wanted to make it a surprise.”
“You most certainly did surprise me, darling. You know… I think I quite enjoy you calling me ‘Mr. Pine’.”
Your grin grew even wider. “Lucky for you, we’ll be staying the whole weekend, Mr. Pine.”
Jonathan growled once more. He was on you again to stifle your laugh and had you cumming for him again long before his ten minutes were over.

not a meme question, but do you have a favorite pen? i don't know anything about them but you seem to, lol
I do, but my answer will differ depending on if you're asking my personal favourite pen or if you want advice as someone who doesn't use FPs as to what a good way to try one out is, anon! (sorry you just ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD)
I currently have six fountain pens, five of which are 'starter'/budget pens and one of which is a mid-range 'enthusiast' pen. My favourite I own is the latter. It's my Nahvalur Original, which I own in the Spring colour, and which cost me around £45. It's a pen designed to exclusively take bottled ink with a fancy filling mechanism, instead of ink cartridges. It's not high end by the standards of fountain pens, per se, but it's solidly in the 'enthusiast' realm. (My Dad, who once owned an FP because he needed something that looked good while signing Important Work Documents, did a double take when I told him how much it was, lmao. He did not ever spend that much on one pen.) It is a hefty, lovely thing with great build quality which I can use with fancy ink and feels great to write with. Nice nib, great quality, looks awesome.
But if you have never used a fountain pen, and want to try it, you do not need to spend over £20 or your local equivalent, fwiw. Many cheap fountain pens suck, but equally, many people who have spent thirty years collecting them who own pens worth hundreds will happily tell you, many cheap fountain pens are excellent, and noone needs to spend much to get an industry-gold-standard one. My second favourite pen is my Pilot Kakuno, which is aimed mostly at schoolkids in Japan where Pilot are based, can be bought for under twenty pounds shipped in the UK, similar prices in most of the world, and writes better than multiple 'adult' pens I own. Because Pilot has incredible high quality pen nibs and the Japanese FP market is competitive. You could easily buy just a Kakuno and be set forever with a pen that is extremely good quality! And there's other similarly great options too; there's a whole section of the market that is just 'good pens for newbies'. The Lamy Safari is a very famous option from a western (german) brand, for example. (Also have one of those, it's good.)
If you want to try fancy fountain pen inks with special qualities like sparkle or sheen, you'll probably need to put down a little extra money for a converter- basically a refillable cartridge that refills from a little ink bottle, instead of the disposable ones most stationary shops sell. But you don't need that if you're happy with the normal ink cartridges. All cheap fountain pens accept cartridges, though the better brands do tend to require you buy their cartridges, unfortunately.
And if you REALLY don't want to risk it: buy a Platinum Preppy. Platinum are a very well regarded brand, they use the same nibs in their entry level pens as they do their £30 ones, just with cheaper gel pen like bodies- and they are like. £5. Comes with a cartridge. Writes great, I own one. Again, a Japanese brand aimed squarely at schoolkids, very cheap but genuinely good to write with.
(The one thing for fountain pens I would say is, do spend the extra little bit on a cheap notebook with fountain pen friendly paper. Same as with e.g. paints, good paper is more important than the pen a lot of the time. The worst fountain pen in the world on good paper is better than a £500 pen on shit paper. Here is a guide; I use Clairefontaine.)
anyway sorry maybe you didn't want all of that. but if you think fountain pens sound Interesting and are curious, i'd encourage you to try one, but buy cheap. many cheap pens rule. and fountain pens are great- they are better than almost every other kind of pen for doing longform writing, because they don't cause wrist strain when doing it for long periods. i would definitely recommend a fountain pen over other kinds if you want to use it to write for long periods, no matter what pen you get, tbh!
