something about how it took Viserys decades to construct his Valyrian city only for Aegon to destroy it in seconds. something about legacy. and for a legacy to truly BE a legacy. it must stand the test of time.
and how Viserys doomed the future by looking back at the past. the past that ultimately fell to fire and smoke and the culling of dragons. and how a son he always wanted but never loved. named after the conqueror he so admired. hacked the representation of his legacy in half.
something about dynasties. something about legacy. something about inheritance. something about the past becoming the future. because perhaps your family escaped the doom.
“Buck?”
Eddie knows Buck wouldn’t leave just like that, without so much as a goodbye but—
Maybe last night meant absolutely nothing and all he’s been left with is a broken heart. No, he can’t possibly believe that, but—
Buck’s voice is sudden and muffled through the bathroom door.
“Don’t worry, Eddie, I’ll be right there."
Of course.
Eddie smiles to himself as Buck opens the door. How could he ever think Buck would leave him after last night, after what they did, after everything they’ve been through? Eddie smiles, adjusting slightly, feeling the tug and pull of a very new, but welcome, pleasant ache.
Buck smirks as he steps into Eddie’s bedroom, tugging his boxer briefs down as he goes.
Every single thought evaporates from Eddie’s head at the sight.
“Alright, baby. Ready for round two?”
their first hug is still my favorite.. going right from his family to hug buck, their huge goofy fucking smiles before they're even hugging.. "our illusions" 🥴, the way buck turns a little to lean their heads together and shuts his eyes when he hugs eddie back, buck being there when he should be resting at home because being there for eddie's inauguration is "more important". the way the season started with buck feeling so threatened by eddie's presence he wanted him GONE and this is how they close it out.
