Buck has always been so insane about Eddie. Do you know just how much weight Eddie must have felt off his shoulders when Buck introduced Carla?—Buck, so willing to step in and help; providing something that was so necessary for Eddie at the time. And the dearest part is that he didn't even have to ask—Buck saw through Eddie for who he was and the baggage he carried, and decided he wasn't gonna let that man ever go through anything on his own.

Buck owning up during the lawsuit arch makes me lose my mind. The unspoken place that he has in the Diaz's lives and just how much space he occupies; Buck owning up is him understanding what that means. "I should have been there", despite Eddie already being over it. And that's somewhat part of their dynamic too, a recurrent one. Buck always wants to talk things, figure them out, fix them; Eddie runs away from it—but always, always gives into it. Specially with Buck. That's why Buck is so pivotal in Eddie's life.

But Buck is insane, clearly—Has never known a day of not thinking about what he can do to make Eddie's life a little bit easier. The horse stable? I was speechless. He not only helped Eddie take care of Chris, and was there through his breakdown at the capacity that Eddie let him in. But he also went out of his way to ask Taylor for help finding Charlie so he could give Eddie a reason to what they do as firefighters. Because he knows Eddie loves being a firefighter and is what he has worked hard to do. "You don't have to pretend with me", when it comes to Eddie nothing gets past Buck.

They complete the other to astronomical levels.

tbh Tim wants to milk buddie and he is a person who reads tweets and fanfics he knows what he is doing we all know he left 911 when fox said no to Eddie’s coming out in season 4 and so he only worked with what was given and didn’t write for the show as much because fox won’t allow for buddie to happen and it was confirmed by Oliver stark and it was last year wasn’t it also is interesting he confirmed that and started posting buddie more, for me it wasn’t only that he hates the T actor, you can tell he was possed with him from the get go and that Ryan and Kenneth really made an effort with him even in the actors words but then he went and use cameo and went and say that Ryan didn’t want Tommy x Eddie, and Tim made damage control saying that no they didn’t who was gonna be with Tommy that it was nothing to do with Ryan and some source say he was fine with acting Eddie like that but he thought Eddie was more complex, which for me is more like the reasoning Tim gave to make BT and not Eddie x Tommy which is not wrong Eddie needs a longer plot and Chris away helps for him to understand what he wants without thinking on Chris but they did nothing with it, because they wanted to push Athena’s plot because they know they need to focus on Eddie in the rest of the season, and I feel the henren plot with Mara and then Denny pushed so they can have a plot and leave space for Eddie, and so me thinks the buddie of it all they won’t go canon this season but next one but Eddie is coming out and Buck having his feelings realizations like there’s no way Eddie won’t come out Tim knows people is tired but still wants to milk out of buddie like friends wanted to keep us guessing will they won’t they with Rachel and Ross, and i think Oliver now freely post buddie and talked about fox saying no because abc accepted it and Tim is now fully writing in the show when after fox said no he moves to lone star and you can tell Tarlos isn’t literally buddie but they are a copy with different stuff going on and you just can tell the season Tim worked on because they got married and everything but previously they weren’t that great and Carlos hiding he was married and shit and TK not wanting to really date him at first and then somehow they are Buck and Eddie so??? thinking about chimney and eddie as brothers-in-law because they would be SO silly. their dynamic is already perfect but add in that extra sibling component? Mayhem. eddie would be 10x more torturous to chim, chimney would be 10x more indignant to eddie, AND they’d both bond over their shared buckley love interests. also there would inevitably a scene at some point where chimney nudges eddie and goes “buckley’s, right?” and eddie laughs along before both maddie and buck turn around to give them a Look that leaves the both of them begging for forgiveness. i Need it.

Considering my discoveries about the blue and green detailing when it comes Eddie and Shannon, and the gym scene giving me this, I am choosing to believe I am right even though it probably isn't that deep or planned before.

The thing is, the blue and green thing is pretty straightforward most of the time. If we're talking about main couples or secondary character.

Like, most of the time, it's pretty obvious, it's a shirt or a jacket, it's the first thing you will notice when you see the character.

The easiest couple to track all down is madney, i think because we see a lot of changes in the relationship, we end up getting more of them with the blue and green color scheme. But it is mostly a jacket, a sweater, a shirt.

So applying that rule to buddie, it happened twice. And it's interesting because it's a repeat shade from the only situation where Eddie and Ana were in the color scheme and because it's the shooting Buck and Taylor blue and green.

Eddie and Ana only have the one scene, so not a lot of choice there, but Buck and Taylor have a lot of them.

So, obvious, straightforward, not a lot to think about, BUT I am a crazy person, and I have been paying more attention to the couples and the use of blue and green, because I got curious after rewatching Boston for the rewatch, because I'm paying a lot of attention to backgrounds and scenery looking for the correct shots to gif, and watching under pressure right after.

Why? Well, I did say madney is the easiest way to track the blue and green thing. Boston is a very blue and green episode even when Maddie and Chim are not dressed in blue and green.

Maddie is wearing blue in the video, Chim is wearing green when he watches it, she's in blue while she's alone (even her hospital gown is blue, and that's not a common thing for the show), he's in green when he's alone, so we are still in the color scheme.

But considering the nature of the episode, Saint Patrick's Day, there is an insane amount of green being used as a backdrop. With Chim standing out because of the way his vest is blue in a sea of green.

But Maddie's jacket is only blueish, so things start to get muddy.

Because when they do meet, they are in neutral colors, but they have a lot of blue and green props and pieces of scenery.

But when she says she wants to go back home, Maddie's in a really dark green with some green detailing shirt, and Chim is in a blue shirt, but they both have jackets on, so the color is not the focus of the outfit.

Not like it would be here, when they find out Jee is a girl or in mixed feelings when literally every couple is blue or green at some point.

So the details matter too. I feel like that's a safe assumption. (It's not, everything about this is insane but stay with me)

Also, the blue and green thing can also be used in the search for love I would say, because Buck is wearing blue on the date with Veronica.

So, I established a pattern here, why does this relate to under pressure or buddie?

Neutral color outfits (which is fun considering their uniform is blue) and blue and green backgrounds. Yes, I understand that the blue is because of the sirens and there is the occasional red there too, but if we are using sirens as bisexual lighting, I'm using it here.

But the thing is, when thinking about the blue and green thing in the great scheme of things, I only ever considered tops, and a few dresses because of Karen, but considering my insanity over Boston, I was like, okay, let's expand.

If we ignore the uniform (I choosing to because they don't have a lot of room with the uniform, it is what it is, and sometimes a scene will happen in the firehouse) Eddie is wearing blue after the tsunami and the will reveal, Buck's wearing blue after Chim goes after Maddie, Buck's wearing blue in the kitchen talk in outside looking in (and yes he's wearing blue because Taylor is wearing green, but he's still in blue), the shirt Buck has under the red jacket during the breakdown is blue, Buck is wearing something blue(ish) when they talk about the couches, Eddie is wearing blue on the poker date, Buck is wearing green on the cemetery.

Oh, but Anna, they are mismatched, does it really mean anything?

Yeah, well, I don't know, but the thing here is actually all about the way I was watching tomorrow earlier, and everything about the episode is about Henren, right?

Hen and Karen don't have a lot of obvious blue and green moments, I've been searching for them and saving the ones I can find, but so far I just have two major ones, when they decide to foster and when Eva comes back the last time.

But the thing is, Hen's color pallet is about patterns. Karen's too. So I made the decision to go around looking for just, anything predominantly blue or green. So now I get to introduce pants into the situation.

Because after this there's even a random couple on a call with the blue and green being completed with pants.

And also, there's another using the background to complete the color scheme moment, since Hen's hoodie is blue and the backdrop is green behind Karen (this is a flashback and flashbacks tend to be muted, but it is green)

Okay, now, why does it matter? Thinking back to some major buddie scenes, I'm tempted to overanalyze Eddie's choice of pants.

Sure, in these two the pants are green, but Eddie is the one with the blue shirt to begin with, so not a lot to on there, BUT, we also have in the green pants with Buck in the blue background.

We also have this, with the green pants and the blue hoodie.

And the green background. Please notice the way the plants are out of focus behind Buck but not behind Eddie.

Also, something that drives me absolutely, completely crazy about the cemetery scene, or just about coloring it while gifing, is that the sky is blue behind Eddie, but it's not blue behind Buck (so this is hell to match)

Buck is wearing green, the sky is only blue behind Eddie. That's also interesting because Buck is never wearing green, unless something is wrong (breaking up with Ali and Taylor, the coma dream, the cemetery, longer meta about it can be found here) and they are consistent about Eddie being green, Buck being blue, so they switched colors, and something they do is switch color with Buck and Taylor when the relationship starts going to hell, so, choices.

Also, I'm curious about the choice of everything in the van being green. Not that there's anything visibly blue about Buck, even the sky and the water are barely blue, but it is funny.

They do have a blue truck, but that feels like a stretch even for me aoskoaskoaskaoksas

i just got here (and by that i mean i binged the whole show while studying for finals between november and december), but buddie can’t NOT go canon. not at this point. not with everything they’ve set up

bucks canonically bisexual. that’s a massive key component. the queerBAIT is now lying entirely on eddie’s shoulders. and in terms of bucks storyline, the horrible guy he dated was given a barebones personality…that resembles eddie (military, likes sports, had a serious relationship with a woman). almost every trait they gave That Guy resembles eddie (except eddie isn’t racist). they did that on purpose. buck, bothered, bewildered, bisexual or whatever it’s called was so centred on bucks relationship with eddie

plus the whole confessions “i’m not your last” moment, only for the LAST shot of that episode to be buck and eddie sitting side by side. confessions as a whole is such insane proof of impending buddie canon too…the whole focus on eddie finding joy, on eddie’s catholic guilt and guilt in general, on eddie not wanting to See himself both figuratively and literally because he’s scared of what he’ll find…josh’s speech applying to eddie but making no sense regarding that Other Guy (the glee thing made no sense regardless)

and THAT focus is so obviously pointing towards eddie being gay. eddie’s entire everything has always pointed towards him being gay, i can’t lie, but it’s getting so much more obvious. they’ve reached a point where nothing about eddie’s personal arc or journey makes any fucking sense UNLESS he’s gay, and every storyline is making it more obvious that they’ve realized it

his catholic guilt being brought up. not wanting to be intimate with a woman who represents god in his mind. sex, god, and shame all coming together in that episode, AND bobby bringing up that eddie does this thing in relationships where he makes excuses instead of examining how he really feels towards them…now im sure bobby doesn’t know eddie’s gay, but it invites the audience and eddie to examine his past behaviour towards female romantic partners. and every single thing about that priest/juice scene in confessions. catholicism guilt tied into sexuality again (“uh…n-no offence…i-im straight” to a priest like cmon)

and speaking of past relationships, eddie’s grief is at the forefront of his storyline too now. his main most pressing storyline being chris’s running away. eddie’s grief and complicated emotions towards shannon have always been something he struggles with, and in s7 we learn that chris has complicated feelings around his mom too. and at the end of s7…well. what a stupid fucking storyline, but grief is the driving force of the chasm between eddie and chris. this addresses the most important romantic relationship eddie had with a woman (obviously shannon), and hopefully the relationship he has with his son, and both of those people are excuses eddie might be making in his own head to justify not even questioning his sexuality. eddie and shannon had chris when they were teenagers, eddie’s been a dad literally his entire adult life. does he know he can be gay if he’s been married? if he has a kid? does he know he’s allowed to even question his own sexuality? it’s probably what michael felt, but more complicated

AND michael stayed with athena thinking she could “fix” him. eddie said in s7 that he thinks he’s broken and can’t be fixed, to a woman he’d been unadvisedly pursuing, a woman who looked just like his own wife…

then, the “you think being a cheerleader makes your son weak?” storyline. cheerleading is seen as feminine and there are a lot of stereotypes about male cheerleaders and feminine men. both cheerleading and being gay are seen as feminine. the cheerleader called eddie “dad” and hen pointed out to chim that it his emergency is difficult for eddie because he misses his own kid AND the conversation with the cheerleaders dad where he relates it to his own current situation, which connects the storyline to eddie and chris. but the “you think [stereotypically feminine thing] makes your son weak?” brings eddie and ramon to mind. because eddie was raised to be hypermasculine and Not Weak, never weak. what would ramon think if eddie comes out as gay?

and, finally, the focus on eddie finding joy. on eddie doing any introspection at all. on eddie Seeing himself and understanding himself and being kinder to himself. on eddie realizing he deserves to be happy. on eddie realizing he doesn’t have to hide behind his (ridiculously adorable) moustache, that he doesn’t have to hide who he is

s7 was for bi buck. s8 is for gay eddie AND likely for buddie. eddie’s currently trying to see Himself and make amends with his past (and because that went badly, making amends with chris…the child he sorta partially legally gave to buck, in a way…). buck’s trying to not lose hope over the future, wondering who’ll be the last to love him (or wondering if he’s loveable at all). eddie’s true self AND bucks endgame are called into question at the same time…now maybe i just got here But
