Anyone who believes that Buddie going canon is going to include either of those two men becoming smooth and confidently romantic around each other two seconds in is kidding themselves. Because they’re weird about each other. Like, they’re actually just obsessed with each other every time they’re given a moment to breathe outside of their incredibly traumatic lives. Buck’s not going to know what to do with somebody who loves as wholly as Eddie does, who sees all of him and loves him anyway. Eddie’s not gonna know how to be in a relationship with someone he wants constantly, and who sees through all of his fronts. They’re going to be painfully awkward and maybe even pining while actually dating.

They’re best friends, which might typically mean a smooth and gradual transition of being together, but neither of them do anything by halves. Somebody is going to confess to the other before they’ve fully processed how in love they are or something, and then we’re going to be in trouble. Because they’re weird about each other, they’re impulsive, they’re dorky and Eddie’s only recently begun to accept that he can be that way, and they’re so deeply awkward when people actually love and see them. The start of their relationship is going to be such an embarrassing mess, I truly believe this. But it’s all going to be worth it because it’s embarrassing because they won’t know what to do with all of the love they’re getting from the other, but they’ll figure it out. Together.

If they didn’t want Eddie Diaz to be gay then why did they write him like that??

The thing is, they’ve written him to be so violently unhappy every time he’s with a woman, that it’ll never be believable if they try to give him a woman as his endgame. Like at this point, they’d just be completely rewriting his character to suggest he’d be happy with a woman.

I don't know, I can only tell you that Buddie fans took it very badly because it was a funny and nice scene, and I think it had been used in the promo, which was the worst, but what is certain is that all ships have good fans and bad fans, but I'm very clear that 911 was not toxic until they brought back the character of Tommy Kinard and that many of his so-called fans didn't watch the entire series but started with the arrival of the series on ABC. I've to make it clear that these are speculations on my part 🙂

Rewatching 9-1-1 and I’m on season 2, episode 1 “Under Pressure”….

Buck is out here lifting weights, clocking Eddie’s whereabouts and extra grunting when Eddie is nearby. Yes, I’ve known since before this episode during my first watch that Buck was bi (queer knows queer). But it’s so fascinating that Buck’s been flexin’ since day one in the weight area to impress and/or get Eddie’s attention. Like he hasn’t changed his game.

It’s season seven and homie has been trying to impress his husband since before he knew he was truly into men.

i better not get flamed by you weird buck and tommy stans (the ones who have been weirdos to oliver and ryan recently) but genuinely how did anyone think bummy had chemistry? eddie and tommy had WAYY more chemistry dude.

i just re watched s7:ep4, buck, bothered and bewildered (the one where bummy kisses) and genuinely, if you actually payed attention to bucks facial expressions and how he acted you would’ve known he did NOTT want that freak. and tommy didn’t want him either i don’t think, i mean he def found him hot but he definitely wanted eddie more. he was even confused when buck said he wanted his attention like? he knew .. probably another reason why he broke up with buck.

also, did anyone else notice tommy didn’t know shit about buck? basketball tickets, really?? they never kissed besides that one time, they were never really shown together, and just DIDNT HAVE CHEMISTRY. bucks other relationships had WAYYY more scenes.

If Buck isn’t staying inside Eddie’s house like he did for Abby I want NEED Buck to take Eddie’s blue couch for him. Since Buck sitting on it in his loft he will one have a couch and two he will see wait it wasn’t a couch all a long it was the family he had with it! And as camera pans out it’ll be on the coffee table, counter, kitchen table.. and anywhere empty space is full of pastries and Buck will sit up straight and stand up from the couch and say out loud..

“I’m in love with f king Edmundo Diaz.”

And fall back on couch with his head in his hands as he cries. As his best friend and now the person he realized he’s always been in love with. And we get flashbacks of Buddie + Buckley Diaz moments we’ve seen and new ones like *cough* karaoke scene *cough*

ANDDD I want as Eddie drives away he looks back in his mirror and then too he gets a swarm of flashbacks of Buddie + Buckley Diaz moments we’ve haven’t seen. And that’s when something clicks but not fully. But his oh moment is when he’s in Texas and something someone said reminds him of Buck. So back in his room he goes to call Buck but stops as he realized Buck is the first he wants to tell something. And the memories are flood back more than he saw when he looked back at Buck earlier when he left his driveway back in LA… and he sits up from his bed with wide eyes and runs his hands through his hair as he says out loud where no one can hear him but says

“I’m in love with Evan Buckley.. -Spanish bad word-“

Sits back in his bed as he crosses his arms and stares at the closet that is across his bed and moves his hands over his lips to muffle his crying so his parents or Chris don’t hear him. As the camera pans out as he begins crying.

Ugh 😩 so many theories!! I want Buddie canon, Buddie back, Chris home, them to all move into a new home together, and just the show to have many more seasons so we can see Buddie flirt as boyfriends, go on dates and get married so we can see Chris walk down aisle to give them their rings!

Is it crazy that throughout all these seasons, all these years, I’ve never really thought about how joyful Eddie and Buck getting together romantically could be? We’ve seen them go through so much trauma, so many insecurities, and mental health struggles, that it’s colored the way I pictured them falling together officially. And not like them starting as a couple would be a negative part of their arcs, or traumatic, not anything like that. Just, the show’s direction is pointing at them going canon as being a purely happy event. Eddie is discovering who he is, more about what he desires to be happy with himself and his life. Buck was just told by the narrative that he is primed for his “last” love interest, and he now has the freedom to go out and discover more about his bisexuality without a partner to be loyal to. They’re both on these journeys that, according to the show, are going to lead them to being the most joyful we’ve ever seen them. And the rest of the narrative is telling us that their joy is going to stem from finding a home in their romantic relationship. There’s never a perfect way for a ship to get together when they’ve been a slowburn for years, but this is the gentlest, most loving, happiest way the show could be going about it. Yes, Buck and Eddie make each other happy. Yes, they are each other’s Person, and are always there for each other. Yes, they’ve been through so many ups and downs, but now they’re going to be together, and it’s good. I’m sure there will be more traumas in their future, but where they left off on 8x06, they are perfectly positioned to find joy in each other, and I think that is beautiful.

because he’s never actually had real feelings for his partners and is trying to force them to fit this narrative his parents have made him believe is what he needs 👀👀👀 so when he finally realizes his feelings for buck he will actually start calling buck pet names and it will be so soft and beautiful and i will be sobbing

Buck has always been so insane about Eddie. Do you know just how much weight Eddie must have felt off his shoulders when Buck introduced Carla?—Buck, so willing to step in and help; providing something that was so necessary for Eddie at the time. And the dearest part is that he didn't even have to ask—Buck saw through Eddie for who he was and the baggage he carried, and decided he wasn't gonna let that man ever go through anything on his own.

Buck owning up during the lawsuit arch makes me lose my mind. The unspoken place that he has in the Diaz's lives and just how much space he occupies; Buck owning up is him understanding what that means. "I should have been there", despite Eddie already being over it. And that's somewhat part of their dynamic too, a recurrent one. Buck always wants to talk things, figure them out, fix them; Eddie runs away from it—but always, always gives into it. Specially with Buck. That's why Buck is so pivotal in Eddie's life.

But Buck is insane, clearly—Has never known a day of not thinking about what he can do to make Eddie's life a little bit easier. The horse stable? I was speechless. He not only helped Eddie take care of Chris, and was there through his breakdown at the capacity that Eddie let him in. But he also went out of his way to ask Taylor for help finding Charlie so he could give Eddie a reason to what they do as firefighters. Because he knows Eddie loves being a firefighter and is what he has worked hard to do. "You don't have to pretend with me", when it comes to Eddie nothing gets past Buck.

They complete the other to astronomical levels.
