it's the way you can see buck's anger set in the moment tommy scoffs in the face of eddie being straight. the head tilt, the hardening of his expression, you can literally see the moment he decides to be cruel and i love that. because it's a defense response both on eddie's behalf and his own. tommy implies that there's something buck doesn't know about eddie and that makes him mad. tommy implies that eddie might not be straight and expeesses this outwardly which to buck probably feels like an invasion of eddie's privacy and like outing his best friend if eddie is in fact not straight and that makes him really fucking mad. so he gets angry on eddie's behalf but then there's the subconscious aspect of that anger. the what if eddie isn't straight and the avalanche of unwelcome thoughts and very welcome possibilities that flood his mind that he has to shut down somehow. but they still slip out. i don't have to sleep with everyone i have feelings for. and they come out in the meanest way possible. and i don't have to have feelings for everyone i sleep with. scared dog backed into a corner forced to snap and snarl and bite.

eddie repaired his relationship with his son off screen. told his son he's moving off screen. got the news that bobby nash, his captain, his mentor, his narrative mirror, is dead off screen. but no tell me all about how I'm unreasonable and trying to give the other characters less screentime by having a fucking main be treated as a main

Ok but imagine Buck visits Eddie in Texas and he reveals his feelings for Eddie before he leaves, and Eddie sort of confirms that in another world he'd like them to be together but they can't because he's in Texas and Buck lives 12 hours away and then Buck wants him to kiss him but Eddie's just like "I can't just kiss you and then leave, Buck! It's not fair to either of us!" And Buck is so emotional and they kind of get into a fight because they both obviously want it but Eddie just refuses to choose joy (Buck is the juice) and then Buck turns to leave and Eddie grabs his arm Nick and Jess style and kisses the fucking daylights out of him, and then is like "I'm not gonna kiss you, but if I did, it would go something like that"

well because that’s the difference between them, isn’t it. buck enthusiastically dates people who are bad for him and throws himself into these relationships as a way to create a sense of identity for himself. and eddie is miserable about dating people who are essentially perfect for him, because they’re perfect for the false identity that he is always desperately trying to project out into the world. ugh

I was skipping through a few Buck & Abby scenes today and noticed something, not sure if it's been referenced before. What do you mean in 1x10 Buck says to Abby "I got your back, you know that" and she doesn't say anything? And then the very next ep they introduce Eddie, and he has someone who says it to him "You can have my back any day." "Yeah. Or, you know, you could... You could have mine." And it was never supposed to be romantic?? (not to mention Shannon also complained in the flashbacks)

Not only that we also have Ravi saying that's what you're looking for in a partner. It's a lot of things that add to the idea that they were trying to set them up somehow because I truly cannot believe they accidentally set up buddie as well as they have. I made a set about this before. It's insane.

blah blah yes i think buck needs to be chosen for once in his goddamn life but. i also think that eddie needs to finally fucking choose something just because he wants to. just because it makes him happy, no strings attached, absolutely no catch. he’s going to choose buck just for the sake of joy and love and a lifetime of indulgence. and i think it’s incredible that with buddie these things truly correspond and fulfill each other. and that by choosing buck eddie is also being chosen by buck. buck who’s finally going to take his own fate into his hands with completely clear eyes and an open heart that’s no longer putting fear ahead of love. peace on planet earth

911 really not giving a fuck about any sort of timelines anymore wdym they celebrated halloween but chris is only gone for 3 months but buck and tommy were together six months

this is such an unbelievable scene because there's two realizations happening simultaneously:

eddie is having the realization that he was never really alone through this whole ordeal and there has always been a we with him and buck.

while on the other hand, buck is having the realization that in the end he truly always just ends up back where he started. alone.

Alright honest opinion time:

I’m excited for canon Buddie, but why does it have to be progressing with such a bad season so far? Like I think back to seasons 2-4 and that was not just peak Buddie, but peak seasons in general.

The show has become so unexciting to me recently that it feels like a struggle to get through it and feels like I’m only fighting through it for Buddie crumbs.

I’m not going to give up on the show, but I think they really need to step up their game. They need to revisit seasons 2, 3, 4 and understand why they worked so well and why this one hasn’t been so far.

The storylines, the pacing, the character interactions, the cohesion… I just miss the vibe of the old seasons and I sincerely hope the second half of this season is better. Genuinely.
