as someone who’s only halfway through season 3 of game changer, I gotta say that watching tumblr freak out over the most recent episode is hilarious. Something was Done to Brennan. I have no idea what it was. Everyone’s posting pictures of the most haunted man you’ve ever seen. Sam Reich is playing 3D chess with his friend and employee’s psyche. What did he do? No idea! But everyone was in on it. What “it” was is wholly unclear. This is like seeing something tagged as “#[fandom] spoilers,” deciding to look at it anyway, and being met with a badly photoshopped image of a horse with a nerf gun, and see everyone in the tags go “nooooo!!!! How could you you are EVIL *reblogs anyway*.” By my estimation it’ll be over 2 weeks before I get to this episode. I will live in suspense until then. I am somehow wholly shielded from spoilers. This is the most I’ve seen an episode be talked about without having a clue what the episode actually is.

main takeaway from certain fan reactions to the finale is this:

the final scene with ankarna was so meaningful to the bad kids' arcs and how they made peace with being wronged by people they loved, and if all you can focus on is that the rat grinders didn't get much screentime, then you don't love dimension20 and you don't love this world: you want to be playing your own hs themed dnd campaign and you're mad the oc versions of the rat grinders you made up in your head acted ooc. these are not your characters and this is not their story.

the thing that i can’t get over is gerard *told* elody he didn’t want to leave her, that she had a place in his adventuring party when shit hit the fan, and that if he went to find rosamund the princesses might stop him from coming back to get elody, but she told him to leave so he left,

and he DID the hard brave thing and ventured deeper back into the castle to find elody when everyone else ran, but immediately got almost killed in one turn and was FORCED to run away this time, there was no fighting back, staying would have meant leaving elody with his dead body for a SECOND time, but the princesses are so wrapped in their own misery they’ll never tell her that

God I relate to Evan Kelmp on such a deep level. I, too, say and do vastly unsettling things due to a life lived unsafely. I, too, upon getting my hands on some decent money for the first time, bought a good pair of boots and religiously cared for them. I carried a knife or a chain wherever I went, just in case. I had my life in a bag on my back, just in case. I feel such a deep attachment to my home, but am always prepared to lose it. I am always thinking of the worst possible way things could go, so I'm prepared, but am always delighted when things go well instead. I adore the people I love, I hold on with claws, and even when they hurt me, I let it go over and over and over, because I love them; and I would die for them, if they asked. I, too, would lose myself in the mindless violence of stomping out a creature formed punching bag, where it is morally fine to do so, and I could do so freely. I, too, hold so much rage in my soul at the pure injustice of the world, of my life, that I am burning from the inside out; and I too, choose to be kind and patient first, because god I wish someone would have done that for me.

I never expected another season of Misfits and Magic, but fuck am I glad it's here. My weird little bird facts guy, who survived by clawing his way through hell, I love you Evan Kelmp, and your uncomfortable last name.
