I'm not sure if anyone remembers when I was posting about this one project I was working on... but since our whole class received the "thanks, but no thanks," I might as well come back to it and share these because I'm actually really proud of this collection! And I was kind of hoping that the duvet covers would get picked because I wanted to have them myself but oh well lmao.

The inspiration for the collection was Finnish ancient religion, witchcraft, and incantation poems.

#IGNORE THE TYPO #it's supposed to say Lumous RIP 😂#tbh I'm not sure if I even wanted to collab with the brand in the first place because they're a bit dodgy...#but god forbid is it hard trying to get your work approved anywhere in this goddamn field #why am I doing this? -I ask myself while trying to wrap up my portfolio for tomorrow #if nothing else.. BRAND LABEL REDESIGN

BRIEF:- So I got this assignment to redesign any brand label but i was asked not to change how the brand will get perceived just by looking at the label and the label should also resonate the brand's identity, the gap they fill in the market and the USP they got in the industry.

I picked THE SOULED STORE because i really connected with their design language and how they sometimes make their so quirky that they are too in your face.

Their previous brand label design had the same color scheme which i too kept the same in the redesign, but but but, the previous design gave out almost no information about the brand other than the logo. so i changed it and highlighted their tagline on the front and their moto on the back. also the hashtag is there because the brand was made this big because of social media. so i tried to depict that aspect of the growth. i added some quirk at the back with the pattern made with red lines. It represents the flow with which the brand operates and designs.

wait i forgot to tell yall the absolute highlight of my day, and probably year, and probably existence because it was genuinely the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me

#i had to act like i was not crying in class because it shook me to my core #this one professor of mine great guy probably the only reason i have not given up on the graphic design program #starts class discussing our projects for the semester #and says both projects are brand new never done before #and one of them was a music project #where we get to choose the artist and create an entire spread of everything for them #lp/ digital campaign/ website/ spotify mockups the whole fucking nine yards #and this is a man WHO DID NOT KNOW WHAT MUSIC PACKAGING WAS OR ENTAILED UNTIL #I ONE DAY WENT ON A RANT ABOUT IT IN OUR FIRST CLASS TOGETHER #and who has asked me multiple times about it since and my amateur concert photos #and i’ve given him shit for cutting a different music project in the past #and this motherfucker looked at me (i’m losing my fucking mind at this point btw like full on #everyone in the class was looking at me after the announcement)#and this motherfucker looks at me ‘you got your music project buddy don’t let me down’#and it just kinda struck me that this clown of a man A) listens to his students and proposes projects he thinks they’ll be passionate about #but B) that he listened to me and i’ve just i’ve never had that things like this are always dismissed #and this motherfucker listened and formulated a whole ass project to help me #like that’s so fucking insane to me #eris: text
