Ghosts are Dragons.

But.

Instead of being protective or caring for one another or caring about child ghosts.

They actively view each other as threats.

Like:

"Oh, nothing personal but you gotta die now."

"Oh yea I totally get that but you also have to die now."

"Understandable."

Inspired by this glorious fic.

Dragons don't really hate each other, they just have to kill each other on sight no biggie. Even more when they feel like their hoard is in danger or a dragon is getting too close to said hoard.

So.

Danny and Vlad.

Phantom and Plasmius.

I would like to say that they're seen as really weird entities by the ghost community. On one they manage to act civil with each other (I.E not trying to tear each other's cores out or something) and then on the other they're literally how dragons would expect them to be (Phantom and Plasmius).

Of course, a ghost's act of civility is not the same as a human's, so they're just viewed as... really fucking weird. In human form their instincts are kinda on the back burner but still there so they're somewhat antagonistic with each other.

In ghost form?

Bloody brawl.

Even worse if you try and fit into the idea of the Fenton family being apart of both their hoards. Most common link being Maddie but if you wanna get kinda cracky with it could be Jack too for a Vlad/Jack angle.

On one hand, Vlad wants Danny to be his kid. On the other it's like "Okay no hard feelings but you really need to die now."

Then imagine if this was a Nasty Burger explosion au and Danny falls into Vlad's custody. It's like, okay, cool, Vlad got what he wanted but wow does his dragon side want this kid dead and damn he has really good self-control and somewhat morals to not try and strike a grieving child.

Danny, on the other hand, is very, very sad and his dragon side also, very much, wants Vlad dead.

They get into some fights. Well. A lot of fights. Nothing big.

By dragon standards anyway.

Look! Two dragons! In one house! And they haven't torn out each other's cores and disabled on another! It's a miracle!!!

(Sidenote, I feel like Danielle wouldn't really be around in this au because, you know. Dragons kinda want each other dead and all that.)

So yea, in the eyes of ghosts those guys Phantom and Plasmius are really, very weird dragons. And so, extremely but confusingly civil.

In the eyes of humans, however... well.... kinda... paints a bad picture.

To one Bruce Wayne especially when they meet each other at a gala.

I love this show. Anyways, AU where an Evil!Mark tries to make Our!Mark worse, and Our!Mark tries to make the other better. Something something confronting your idea of the worst version of oneself. Plus, tweaked black and yellow costume because I saw it and immediately went murder hornet lookin' ass and knew I had to draw it. Evil ass Mark. Horrible. Okay this is a good concept to me that I’ve had in my head for ages but love the idea of Charles and Erik being married and raising a baby Peter/Pietro (Depending on which name version you want to use) and everyone is surprised as he grows up because Peter’s really chill and quite funny and despite being a little mischievous is generally a sweet kid and they all thought he’d be more like Erik (they’re all used to Erik’s grumpy persona because they don’t know him as well as the family do and Erik is more likely to be kind to his husband and children than random people) and they’re like oh well he must be a little more like Charles then.

The thing that makes them think oh shit there’s Erik is when someone insults or hurts Charles in front of Peter and he gets the most furious look on his face that matches the look Erik gets when someone hurts or insults Charles.

I feel like I need to speak my truth on JackieShauna and their personalities/actions so here it goes….

I feel like saying that either character is completely innocent in their relationship and the other is the one primarily responsible for their relationship falling apart is a disservice to their characters and the fact that they are complex. Like, yes Jackie is not the mean popular girl like some people make her out to be, however she does do cruel things to Shauna and isn’t completely innocent. For example, when Shauna disagrees with her and agrees with Tai, she immediately freezes her out. As for Shauna, everyone’s pretty much aware of her transgressions so I feel like I don’t have to spell those out lol. However, I do think writing her off as a completely unreliable narrator who misinterprets all of Jackie’s actions to make her the victim, is a disservice to her and the actual instances where Jackie was kind of a bitch to her.

The fact that they are both complex and are in a complex female friendship (that’s borderline homoerotic if we’re all being honest) is what makes them so interesting. Like Jackie has the capacity to be mean or cruel and is deeply tragic and trying to be a good person. And Shauna is self destructive and explosive, but is also kind and very clearly cares deeply about other people; look at the scene when she has to cut up Javi for example. Let them be complex and enjoy their deeply fucked up relationship!

I keep thinking about Lewis' review of The Hobbit, because he claimed that the main thing contemporary reviewers compared it to was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Was fantasy in that poor of a state that Alice was the closest thing they could think of? Comparing that chaotic fever dream to Tolkien's intricately crafted world? Lewis does specify that the comparison is that both books are by an "Oxford professor at play", but they're otherwise so different that putting the two in the same category baffles me.

something about the show treating percy's use as only being to serve vex's joy kinda fucking hurts. like vex is distraught, she was in the stream and she was here, that's true. but they are framing this as if it's a romantic loss only and it's making me lose my mind. people don't lose their use to others when they enter a relationship. they don't just become somebody's partner. they're still a person. percy was a full person and vox machina is a family and everyone loved him. that was the point of tearing ripley apart in the original glintshore fight, they were nothing but pure rage because they just watched somebody they love die and at the end of the day, past the monsters and world ending threats everything is about their love with each other, as a group; platonic, familial, romantic, but love as a FAMILY. that is critical to understand. they are who they are because they all love each other, they love each other to the ends of the earth. and the show just. doesn't acknowledge that. percy died so vex could feel sad and that's it. truly what even is the point if nobody else cares. the death doesn't matter if nobody else cares. so percy's death doesn't matter.
