hmm her backstory is what ive been working on for a while now, and yet i only have a few titbits here and there. one really cool thing i figured out a few weeks back is that he is ex-nobility, as in either she left nobility or was kicked out. this lil piece of information is evident in the way they absolutely loooove gold decor and jewellery. im still not sure why exactly they left, but i wanna get that sorted by this week >:)

they fucking loooove animals, to ceres, animals > human or like person interaction. her favourite animals are foxes :33 they've befriended a lot of foxes and she probably has names for each of them bc even tho he looks really stoic on the outside, he's a big softie on the inside but is just too scared to show it out. mmm also since they're an earth genasi, they live in the his world equivalent of a merge between a minecraft spruce biome and an oak biome, wait i think i have a picture lemme just check

4. again, they used to be, but etc etc happened and he hasnt really had any intereaction with people in years almost, the closest he's come to that is with the gnome village nearby who view her as a deity (i just thought of this might not be canon in the future aka in 10 mins lmfao)

MMM SO we used to be the exact same person but then ceres became more ceres than me, so while yes there are a lotta similarities, he's also become a character who isnt entirely me lmao. mmm. our similarities are probably that we both find comfort in our hobbies, writing for me and wood carving for her, and sometimes would prefer to not have any human interaction, yers in their case, also they used to be like reallllyyyy talkative in her teens but then Shit Happened

I LOVE TALKING ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME SO HELL YEAH THANKS FOR ASKING ME HEHE SO i always wanted ceres to be associated with the earth, so immediately i thought of like greek gods who were related to earthy shit, and my first thought was demeter right, but i didnt want it to be demeter bc demeter didnt fit the vibes i was going for sooooo i went hmm whats the roman version, guess what. it was ceres!!!!! AND THE COOL PART IS ceres is also the name of a dwarf planet, its my favourite one now sorry make-make, but like its so cool bc the name ceres combines 2 of my oldest obsessions, greek mythology from when i was 10 and space shit, which i was obsessed with till i was like 7 and still retain some of the knowledge i got from like boring through 3 encyclopedias on space lmao

Yeah i didnt rlly hate anyone unless youre supposed to! And eds a great character so ur fine haha . Anyway heres an interestin question! Who are ur fav homunculi in both series and do u prefer dante or father as main villains. In 2003 my fav is lust cause so much more is done with her. Shes not a bad character in the manga i jus prefer her 2003 ver..:: and 2003s bradley… wqs uh kind of….. anticlimactic ill leave it at that. Also bradley has to be my fav homunculi. Hes able to do so much… and hes not in his prime! Also theres a goid bit of complexity to him. And him dyin peacefully is quite ironic. Anddddd Tbh i kinda prefer dante . Ya get a twist with her bein the main villain. And i prefer her design fathers no bad villain by any means. But i think dantes goals and actions are more interestin then. haha it has been a longggg time since i have watched 03 through but i will do my best to answer this properly (￣ε￣＠)

i loved envy in the og series, as i said, for selfish reasons lol. i just liked his design and his personality charmed me. in terms of character, though, i thought selim bradley was wayyy cool in the og series! like, what?! and the fact that BOTH him and fueur bradley were on the same page but pretending to be this cookie cutter family and fool the entire country is crazy ! also makes you feel so bad for his wife (｡•́︿•̀｡)

i agree with your 03 lust claim ! the depth they gave her was vey refreshing. i understand each homonculus is supposed to represent a sin in its raw form, but getting to experience her as more of a human and less of just a femme fatale villian was nice.

the peaceful death of king bradley is a good point! i had never thought of the irony in it-the embodiment of wrath going softly like that.

my only disagreement with you would have to be in regards to dante (；￣Д￣) definitely just... didn’t engage me. the last few episodes of 03 seemed so rushed and out of no where, and were just very... unmemorable to me. rose confessing her feelings to ed irked me the most. like, what? she was so cool as an ishvallan but doing that and burdening her with that child, and making her an overall miserable person... kind of took away from the powerful poc woman thing i was previously enjoying. especially when she was so progressive and a figure of leadership and unity in the og story. but, the whole fight sequence involving danta and hoenheim was a bit bland, and the end result of all of it was just... disappointing. which i understand sometimes an unhappy ending can be enjoyable and make the story interesting, but i just don’t feel like fullmetal alchemist was the right story for that. i mean, that story had a verrryyy clear goal throughout the entire story. and i have NEVER felt such intense satisfaction and relief as i did when i watched ed and al achieve their hard-earned goal at the end of brotherhood. it just made both the characters and the audience’s experience and journey feel so worth it, and 03 just didn’t have that. and i personally believe that feeling is a key part of the fma experience.

but, i understand how watching a “world-domination” plot can be droning, haha. it’s not like i was crazy about father’s character either. it was more the entire climax that had me hooked. involving every single character like that, and putting them in a place where each of their individual goals and beliefs lined up, was just beautiful.

ah! i went on a bit of a tangent again (￣▽￣*)ゞ apologies! i can get pretty worked up when discussing fma. so please be cautious when bringing it up to me... lol
