Update to bot blogs post

I've noticed some new trends, though this approach can change again at any time.

A recent ask (or dm?) was about the pørn bots that have such random urls that you have no idea what's waiting for you when you check out the blog. Then it's hardcore pørn!

I'm here to tell you the best way to avoid seeing that content. Well, sort of. 😕

Most of the ones I'm seeing now that have the hardcore video content all have a major thing in common: the title and description of the blog will be a first name. The same name just as the title and repeated as the description. And the pfp is typically a picture of some random woman.

But, you won't be warned what you are likely to see before you open it to confirm and report/block... because only the url shows in the notification or activity log, not the blog title. If the title showed before clicking it, you'd be clued-in by a first name as the only title. I don't know how to select the report or block option without actually opening/viewing the blog. That means that you will see some content of the latest post. If you are on your phone, you might be able to place a hand over most of the video while you use the other hand to report and block, but chances are you will still see a bit more content than you wanted. I use this method to report and block such blogs while I'm at work. 😅 Working for a government agency, I definitely don't want to be caught seemingly looking at pørn, even off-duty at lunch!

Here are some examples of urls being used and how the tops of their blogs look (dirty content not shown, for the sake of my readers).

The app or my phone was glitching when I took the pics above, so some of the random pfp's are not showing at all, but they do have some kind of pfp, of course. Here are a couple examples of what I mean about their titles and descriptions:

I cut off the posts to protect your eyes and minds. 😆 The content of the videos is exactly what you might expect. As you can see, one of the examples even has watermarks on their videos for the website they supposedly originated from.

The only way you might be warned about the content before opening the blog is if you see it in the likes section of notes on a post. If you see a like from a random url that shows a first name only for the title, it's probably one of these pørn blogs.

There's another trend I've seen lately, and it's for blank blogs that have hyphenated urls. Some of the blocked blogs listed above show examples of those hyphenated urls. There have been recent posts about this trend because some of the url names are funny. The pfp's are still women but not always close-ups. And there's no limit to the apparent age of the women in the photos. A few examples:

The Phantom of the Abandoned Opera by emacrow/creator

The bats were investigating an old abandoned rundown opera that seemed to come to life, literally rebuild and booming at night that was luring people in, only for them to come out... different.

Tim was the first to sneak in in disguised as a wanderer citizen, seeing how people were grabbing snacks from a snack bar that looked as if it was in the 1880s with snacks ranging from the early 1990s to late 2010s.

Nobody was unable to enter with technology or weapons of any kind, which was the price Tim had to pay, unable to bring his backup backup spy bots.

He got a sample of the oddly popcorn with specks of green coating and a smoothie, which the Snack bar attendant told him it was Phantom Special tonight.

He follows the group to a mass audience seat. The audience room that was once rundown with barely anything in it beside broken nails and missing chairs in the daytime were filled with thousands of vintage chairs with red plush seating and cup holder, each with names on them.

What scared him was a seat was his real name on it.

Sitting down as stiff as he ever felt, the opera stage that used to be a mass hole in the center with no curtain was at all renewed as red curtain pulled open, the center play that was a very very tall man with a half mask wearing a handsome old fashion style royal costume with long hair that defies gravity in a stage full of moving stars and planets as the background.

The man began to sing, and Tim was completely enchanted.

TFA Redesigns Part 2: ft Team Athenia, the "new" Protectobots and Rescue Force Sigma-17

Random Lore Dump Ramblings Below the Cut:

Team Athenia is not disbanded, but they are stationed back on cybertron security while Rodimus recovers from the Cosmic Rust

Rodimus is a terrible patient and keeps trying to sneak out of the hospital and get back to work (not that he's very successful considering the damage hems undergone; there's been talk of a total reframe and that kind of scares of him)

Red Alert (as second command and technically now in-charge of the team) is VERY stressed out and struggling not to fall back into old habits and paranoia (it doesn't help that one of her conjuxes is MIA too)

Ironhide is NOT joining the Earth Team but he did visit there with Hot Shot checking a lead on an old bootcamp buddy, where he picked up his new alt mode

Brawn is... well if you ask him he says he's fine but he's as stressed as Red Alert about everything going on without a nice outlet of 'con bashing to let it out with

The Protectobots' were picked more off their frametypes then their skillsets; Sentinel got REALLY lucky there that these guys are all highly competent, quick learners

They were all required to get new paint jobs with a white base with single color accents, with the exception of First Aid (who already met the color requirements) and Hot Spot (who had the reverse- single color base with white accents)

First Aid is putting his 200% into Ultra Magnus' recovery because he does NOT want to be Sentinel's poster boy. These mechs are nice but First Aid is a doctor not some mascot. It's hard enough being taken seriously as is.

Streetwise was actually partners with Chase. In contrast to the latter's by the book attitude, he was more focused on working with people to keep them out of trouble.

Blades was another "expendable" "volunteer" for the Aerialbot project after getting bashed in treating a patient in field. (His previous frame being the same mold of Ironhide and Ratchet.) Unlike the Twins, he is not taking his forced frame change with much grace, a bit divided between fear of his new body/being forced to use it and fury for what was done to him...

Hot Spot, the unofficial "leader" of the protectobots, is trying to keep a cheerful outlook with the group of mech's he's been assigned. Honestly, he liked his previous job better, but this can't end up THAT bad, right?

Groove is the only one that signed up for the protectobots, even if he was technically trying to apply for a traveling permit to explore more organic planets with his buddy Boulder. He's testing the waters to see whether he's gonna stick around or not.

NGL, I don't really have too many ideas for the Rescuebots in TFA pre-Earth beyond "and they did their specific jobs very well" sort of thing

Chase wasn't very popular amongst his fellow cops because he was such a stickler about the rules and didn't hesitate to report any misconduct amongst his peers (taking bribes, initiating a search without a warrant, arresting without a warrant, etc.)

Heatwave and Hot Spot both trained under Inferno (Hot Spot may or may not have had a tiny, miniscule crush on his barrack buddy while they were training...)

I see you and i raise you: panicked Moon comforting panicked Sun ;D

For full context, this would be set right after their separation when Moon has just woken up. Sun came online after Moon was removed from his head and he panicked, went into a frenzy scaring off the staff possibly even injuring one or two in his efforts to get Moon's chip back.

And while he is not programmed to work the parts and service machine it's amazing the things one can do when panicking and desperate. But he can't get Moon back into his own head because that would require someone else manning the machine so he gets one of, if not their only spare endo thats available (not counting Eclipse who is in the basement currently)

Moon wakes up, starts to panic because he can't sense Sun but then Sun is right there in front of him, in a very frantic and shaky state. Confused, scared and not knowing whats going on Moon just holds onto him and plays his music box, though the tunes are out of note because he hasn't fully calibrated to this new body.

They'd remain this way for a long time before getting Moon fully dressed (he actually wouldn't have any clothes here but i didn't have the energy to draw all the robot details lmao) and then they'd head back to the daycare.

Blades is attempting to vent properly.

They've been doing it in waves- frontliners like firefighters and enforcer-adjacent first, then engineers, then support.

Heatwave can't seem to keep his hands out of his mouth, feeling at the proper fangs in there. He'd admitted to Blades once, drunkenly, that he'd sharpened his canines himself because he thought they looked cool.

But now his mouth is weaponry.

Boulder seems to be having the same problem, except they've kept it shut tighter than steel trap after they saw Heatwave bite his glossa hard enough to draw blood.

Chase already came with fangs. Blades has his own mouth full of knives, so he's only got to look forward to the other required "enhancements".

Audial, optical, and other sensory enhancements. The fangs are the only required self defense weaponry, but it's encouraged to get more on your own time.

Chase has all the bells and whistles of a proper enforcer, and Blades has them of a proper soldier. So, nothing to worry about there.

Blades looks up at Heatwave, who looks back at him, doing his best at a reassuring smile- he can't quite seem to figure out how it's supposed to feel anymore.

His bright yellow optics have been reduced to soft pinpricks, surrounded by black glass. "The best optics on the market," they were told. "High end stuff."

But they're not Heatwave's optics. They're not Chase's either, cyan now reflecting as a gray in the mirror. His hands hover over his optics as he almost obsessively cycles them.

Blades holds his own hands close to his face, close enough that the green glow of his optics reflects off them slightly. "They make you unique!" Hot Spot would say to him. "They're prettier than mine, that's for sure."

He doesn't want to do this. He doesn't need enhancements.

But he's not like Boulder, who's optics are so reinforced from mining that removing and replacing them would cause damage to their entire optical system, and really are fairly high end to begin with- being able to see in the dark and all that.

If he wants to stay- if he wants this- it has to be done.

It's not like I see myself anyways, he tells himself as a nurse comes up to lead him down to the Academy's medbay. It'll still be me. Only... I'll just look a little different.

The fact that people changed their vote based on a speech last minute is why I love this cast so much. Of course it’s always fun to go into a season and find a new strategic star, but it’s way more fun to see players who do play emotionally but also care about the game. These players are messy frustrating to watch, but also play so hard.

Wanna infodump What I think modern Defensor's personality would be. (Using some of my own headcanons for the individual bots lmao)

Absolutely the sweetest, chill, and level headed bot alive. Blades' gentle kindness, Groove's general chillness, First Aid's bleeding heart, Streetwise just beeing cool, and Hot Spot's commucative and diplomatic nature. He's a sweety.

Utterly ruthless when need be, though. Like he gets restraint from First aid and Groove, but he'll kick the shit out of someone who needs it like Blades and Hot Spot. It was hard to find Streetwise's fighting habits but it seems he'll also fight when needed. ESPECIALLY someone who threatens his humans/ humans in general. Theyre all protective of humans so times that by 5 and put it together you get this dude "Omae Wa mou Shinderu"-ing you before you can lay a finger on one.

Speaking of multiplying feelings. Blades adores Cody already, and I imagine the 0thers learn to like him as well, so that all mixed together Cody is Defensor's favorite human. He might get a little overboard in his affection but he has 5 times the capacity for everything including love, he can't help it.

So yeah, terrifying to his enemies, but to his friends he's like a 3 story tall teddy bear.

For the Agate Au are the rest of the Burns family going to feel... strange after finding what Cody truly is? I don't doubt that they will still accept him and love him.

I feel like Graham would be the most sympathetic due to the monster transformations and mind control but would take a while to fully understand.

Dani and Kade would feel the worst to deal with at the start, just full on panicking, (maybe treat them similarly to when they met the bots). By the time Woodrow finds out, he’s probably very chill about it, in comparison.

Chief is tough. I remember the post where due to the Burn’s hair color at least one of them is adopted or a half-sibling, assumed to be Cody. With this in mind, I think by this stage in life they assume they’re adopted and just never told to not have to deal with an age AND genetic gap.

In reality Chief is VERY divorced and got his ex’s kids custody in the settlement. Because of this, he always felt a bit of a distance from the kid and, despite trying to not let that affect his parenting, that dissonance led to Cody conclusion of adoption.

The others reaction were temporary from just not understanding or knowing, but know you dad withheld information that lets him believe your alien with no second guessing would really rub you the wrong way. Chief isn’t really shook because it’s not the first time a robotic alien became human, guess it run in the accursed family…
