Wanna infodump What I think modern Defensor's personality would be. (Using some of my own headcanons for the individual bots lmao)

Absolutely the sweetest, chill, and level headed bot alive. Blades' gentle kindness, Groove's general chillness, First Aid's bleeding heart, Streetwise just beeing cool, and Hot Spot's commucative and diplomatic nature. He's a sweety.

Utterly ruthless when need be, though. Like he gets restraint from First aid and Groove, but he'll kick the shit out of someone who needs it like Blades and Hot Spot. It was hard to find Streetwise's fighting habits but it seems he'll also fight when needed. ESPECIALLY someone who threatens his humans/ humans in general. Theyre all protective of humans so times that by 5 and put it together you get this dude "Omae Wa mou Shinderu"-ing you before you can lay a finger on one.

Speaking of multiplying feelings. Blades adores Cody already, and I imagine the 0thers learn to like him as well, so that all mixed together Cody is Defensor's favorite human. He might get a little overboard in his affection but he has 5 times the capacity for everything including love, he can't help it.

So yeah, terrifying to his enemies, but to his friends he's like a 3 story tall teddy bear.

TFA Redesigns Part 2: ft Team Athenia, the "new" Protectobots and Rescue Force Sigma-17

Random Lore Dump Ramblings Below the Cut:

Team Athenia is not disbanded, but they are stationed back on cybertron security while Rodimus recovers from the Cosmic Rust

Rodimus is a terrible patient and keeps trying to sneak out of the hospital and get back to work (not that he's very successful considering the damage hems undergone; there's been talk of a total reframe and that kind of scares of him)

Red Alert (as second command and technically now in-charge of the team) is VERY stressed out and struggling not to fall back into old habits and paranoia (it doesn't help that one of her conjuxes is MIA too)

Ironhide is NOT joining the Earth Team but he did visit there with Hot Shot checking a lead on an old bootcamp buddy, where he picked up his new alt mode

Brawn is... well if you ask him he says he's fine but he's as stressed as Red Alert about everything going on without a nice outlet of 'con bashing to let it out with

The Protectobots' were picked more off their frametypes then their skillsets; Sentinel got REALLY lucky there that these guys are all highly competent, quick learners

They were all required to get new paint jobs with a white base with single color accents, with the exception of First Aid (who already met the color requirements) and Hot Spot (who had the reverse- single color base with white accents)

First Aid is putting his 200% into Ultra Magnus' recovery because he does NOT want to be Sentinel's poster boy. These mechs are nice but First Aid is a doctor not some mascot. It's hard enough being taken seriously as is.

Streetwise was actually partners with Chase. In contrast to the latter's by the book attitude, he was more focused on working with people to keep them out of trouble.

Blades was another "expendable" "volunteer" for the Aerialbot project after getting bashed in treating a patient in field. (His previous frame being the same mold of Ironhide and Ratchet.) Unlike the Twins, he is not taking his forced frame change with much grace, a bit divided between fear of his new body/being forced to use it and fury for what was done to him...

Hot Spot, the unofficial "leader" of the protectobots, is trying to keep a cheerful outlook with the group of mech's he's been assigned. Honestly, he liked his previous job better, but this can't end up THAT bad, right?

Groove is the only one that signed up for the protectobots, even if he was technically trying to apply for a traveling permit to explore more organic planets with his buddy Boulder. He's testing the waters to see whether he's gonna stick around or not.

NGL, I don't really have too many ideas for the Rescuebots in TFA pre-Earth beyond "and they did their specific jobs very well" sort of thing

Chase wasn't very popular amongst his fellow cops because he was such a stickler about the rules and didn't hesitate to report any misconduct amongst his peers (taking bribes, initiating a search without a warrant, arresting without a warrant, etc.)

Heatwave and Hot Spot both trained under Inferno (Hot Spot may or may not have had a tiny, miniscule crush on his barrack buddy while they were training...)

People are talking about rescue bots all of a sudden and I need to express how much I would love if they brought those characters into something else. Like imagine the rescue bots returning for some Transformers Prime level stuff? Or even more mature. Imagine they bring in the Protectobots, too? I wanna see Blades become a giant robot I wanna see defensor!!!

Rodimus ends up visiting a hot spot mostly to help out with the local team of medics with gathering up the sparks before sending them to centres where they will be looked over and adopted. However during the visit Rodimus suddenly feels a strong pulse tug at his spark pulling him towards a small bright spark, reaching out he gentle touches the spark only to feel a sudden zap jolt through his frame causing him to stumble backwards slightly as he quickly checks his servo.

He then turns his attention back to the spark only to gasp in shock as he watches living metal surround the spark beginning to make a protoform. Rodimus quickly scoups up the developing protoform and rushes to the nearest medic asking if he's done something wrong causing the spark to forge early. The medic just looks at Rodimus blanky before saying that the spark has bonded to Rodimus choosing him as their Carrier, the medic then just hands a still shocked Rodimus a mesh blanket before patting the new Carrier on the shoulder and wishing him luck.

A couple hours later and some quick shopping Rodimus is holding the protoform in his arms, in only a few hours they have developed a full body, arms and legs. He quietly lets out a sigh as he just rocks the fragile bitty humming a lullaby as he waits for his Amica Drift & Ratchet to arrive, he can already feel his new bond growing stronger with each passing hour and little by little his own spark swells with love and pride. Once he had finished humming he then sits down in a chair feeling his pedes growing tried just then he suddenly hears a soft little coo causing him to look down, Rodimus then softly smiles when he sees teal optics looking up at his. Before Rodimus can say anything the door suddenly opens wide as both Drift & Ratchet barges into the living room asking question after question.

Once everything settles Ratchet quickly helps set up the sparkling formula as well teaching Rodimus how to properly swaddle a sparkling, meanwhile Drift is busy working away setting up the crib and nursery while keeping an optic on the napping sparkling in their nest. For Rodimus this isn't how he planned on starting a family but as long as he has his close friends by his side, he knows that they'll be okay.
