Zine Rec: Sticking To It
Tumblr media
So, you wanna get into public Vandalism?
"Sticking To It" is marketed as a Beginners guide to stickering, identifying, and countering Fascist propaganda. Although with an Anarchy A on the front, it is written with a non-anarchist focus, so it can be picked up by any aspiring antifascist.
The zine takes the reader through a series of sections that go over the basics of why someone would want to sticker/deface public property, fascist propaganda and groups to look out for, and how to both create and take down propaganda on your own.
This zine includes multiple lists, including a long list of dogwhistles and Fascist groups to get an aspiring leftist started, as well as a list of ways to both remove and aquire material.
Originally found on Sprout Distros monthly zine shout out, it isn't very popular simply because of how new it is, but the contents can easily help any leftist begin to pickup the simple art of praxis that is Stickering.
It keeps itself basic, leaving room both for growth later and also for the reader to learn on their own how to get better.
Overall, a very useful zine that can help be a starting point for Praxis.

I 100% truly believe that the next step in human evolution is to ever strive towards a communal and stateless and interconnected society. Where we use our most advanced adaptation, our brains and their cognitive and regulatory abilities, to elevate the existence of ourselves and every being on this earth. We learn that our greatest powers are our abilities to connect and nurture and protect and analyze and improve, not to produce. To connect. To understand. That is how we grow and move forward. We can imagine that future.

Friendly reminder that:
Anarchists don't vote for people committing genocide.
Queer rights are not imperialist.
Not a single worker in the film industry has lost money due to piracy.
Unmedicated mentally ill people deserve respect and autonomy.
Gun rights are worker's rights.
Ace and aro people have always been part of the queer community.
Paganism/occultism/atheism are valid religions that deserve the same respect as other faiths.
Neolibs will side with nazis before they side with leftists.
You should be proud if your child is a sex worker. You shouldn't if they're a cop.
You deserve love and comfort. You should not have to suffer.

Looked at Project 2025... and oh no! It's a standard conservative platform! With gasp "Anti-Woke Language"! DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN
But seriously, this shit is nothing new, most of it is promises that Republicans have been making for a while and do nothing about, even Trump. There's nothing in this about turning Trump into a dictator with full power over the government and the people, there's no building camps for the gays, trans, and minorities, it's just the boring old normal. The blue train is fear mongering about it, the red train is fear mongering what would happen without it, but it's literally just bleh.
I'm still not voting and this hasn't convinced me of some necessity to do so. I'd rather continue on with counter-economic means than to touch the partyarchy.

I'm willing to agree with liberals that voting can be bare minimum harm reduction but the issue is that a majority of liberals who are screaming "vote blue" don't do anything else. Like sure vote, fuck Republicans, but stop doing nothing else the rest of the year.
Like if all you're doing is voting, it's not harm reduction. To be harm reduction you do need to be doing things outside of voting and voting campaigns. You need to be creating unions, organizing against fascist demonstrations, volunteering into groups or orgs (or creating your own) that provide food and supplies to your local unhoused community. You need to be volunteering at or creating a community garden, or even just growing a few veggies on your porch and giving them to your neighbors or people in need. You need to be organizing with people in your area to tear down fascist propaganda and replace it. You need to be reading theory written by people who don't share your experiences. You need to be looking up local construction that is encroaching onto parks and public spaces and speaking at city meetings and gathering people to oppose it. You need to be researching the Stop Cop City movement.
You need to be doing something that has direct impact on your communities health, helping the people that even democrats don't care about (because yes, democrats also support anti-homeless, anti-queer, anti-union, and anti-indigenous bills and laws).
You need to be doing other things than voting. You cannot keep yelling about voting and then not doing these things. You don't even need to do all of these things, pick 1 thing you can do that is outside of the system and outside of voting that will make the world better, and commit. Yes, do not allow Republicans to take office. Vote in local elections and in the primaries, research candidates that would be the best fit we can do, but unless you're doing other things we won't have a chance of leaving this looping cycle of politicians who want to kill us being stopped by politicians who barely give a shit at all.
