Which one of ur yanderes take care of you way too much that it's suffocating to you <3333
oh boy.
geto and gojo from the golden girl yan au are suffocating in ways that'd make your sanity wane. separate, they're semi-tolerable. heavy emphasis on semi. geto hides his obsessive tendencies better but gojo barely bothers.
geto's self-aware enough to know you won't appreciate your privacy/autonomy being blatantly violated. he's careful, always gauging your body language to see what he can and can't get away with. he paints himself as the more reasonable one (which gojo finds funny, considering geto's need for control exceeds his). geto eases you into this new reality of their heavy involvement in your life. it's gradual, starting off with him casually asking where you were or who you were with.
the way he phrases and times his questions won't have you thinking twice about offering the information up. should you ever hesitate, your instinct swearing that something's just off, he can handle that too. he'll get quiet, almost solemn. geto professes to knowing it's a bit much and apologizes. the last thing he'd ever want to do is make you uncomfortable, he'll say. you're dear to him and he doesn't know what he'd do if anything happened to you. by the end of the spiel, guilt festers in your chest for doubting his intentions.
then there's gojo.
he's always finding excuses to be in your vicinity, soaking up all your attention like a sponge. from his perspective, there's no point in you talking to anyone besides him, geto, and shoko. nanami and haibara are on thin ice but he can tolerate them, so long as your interactions remain short. gojo ramps up his obnoxiousness to a blinding degree, ensuring yours eyes never wander from him. he's always draping himself over you, cracking jokes, prodding for reactions, or otherwise invading your personal space. shoko made an apt comparison, likening him to a parasite 'that doesn't know when to stop feeding.'
while his fussing over you might seem melodramatic, he's very in tune to your emotions and overall wellbeing. you couldn't hide anything from him if you tried, he knows you like the back of his hand. it never hit how observant he is until he picks up on something troubling you before you were aware of it yourself.
they both see how easily exploitable your kind disposition is. hell, it's how they're able to get away with half the things they do. the world would devour your sweet qualities, spitting out whatever pieces of you remain. certainly, your naïveté could be taken advantage of, but, ironically enough, in 'protecting' you from this, they're participating in what they've set out to prevent. they both kinda know it too. ultimately, their greed outweighs any guilt they might feel for monopolizing your attention.

the other thing that's weird about the show acting like it's IMP's responsibility to deal with Striker and not Stolas' is like
Stella called that hit because Stolas cheated and she wants revenge.
by the show continually insisting it's Striker vs IMP, it's like the show thinks Blitzo is responsible for Stolas' decision to wreck his own family by cheating
but not only was Stolas an enthusiastic participant in the cheating, we don't even know if Blitzo knew the effect it would have
he gets captured immediately at the Still Not Divorced party so he might not have noticed that's what it was and there are some paintings on the walls of him and Stella that Blitzo notices but he has no idea what their arrangement is.
because crucially Stolas never mentions the damage him sleeping with Blitzo would do to anyone else when he's nervous about Blitzo coming onto him. He doesn't say 'I'm married' or 'I have a daughter and I don't want her to be hurt by this'. as far as worries about homewrecking go Stolas doesn't seem to have any - he spares more of a thought for his book going missing off the shelf than he does anything else. and I don't particularly believe he was drunk enough that it affected his long term decision making skills because he's clearly sober enough to sit down and have a regular 'what have you been up to?' convo with Blitzo, at least at first
but the cherry on the cake of all this is the fact that Stolas leered at Blitzo the second he saw him, led Blitzo to his room, locked him in and then draped himself over the door claiming that Blitzo was here to 'ravish him', then doubled down by claiming Blitzo must have been here for 'nefarious reasons' if he snuck in
that isn't a joke, that's pretty obvious intent to cheat. he just wants to feel like Blitzo is the one who seduced him so he can dodge responsibility. in reality Stolas signalled from the word 'go' that he was down to get up to some adultery with him
Stolas in s1 at least understood that he had cheated and tried to appease Stella. in s2 he decides it somehow didn't count as cheating just because Stella never loved him, even though they both knew from the start that love was likely never going to be on the table. it's such a slimy view of adultery all around
It really is. It quite literally takes the stance that Stolas's misery and subsequent cheating is everyone's fault except for Stolas himself, and that's slimy as hell.
And no, Viv fandom, Blitzo was not the one who "started it." Stolas took Blitzo into his bedroom, locked the door, and very blatantly came onto Blitzo.

the dragons series had a lot of inconsistencies tbh and I've yet to see anyone spell some of them out? so I'm gonna be the critic i need in my life
Gothi
this childless Grandma is not a healer.
she is a Seeress or a Wise Woman. the Berkians canonically refer to her as The Elder.
A Seeress' job is to commune with gods and spirits (mostly thru getting high) and give advice to their King or Jarl (or Chief). Gothi does this canonically by being the final judge for whether Hiccup or Astrid got to graduate/get the honour of killing the Monstrous Nightmare.
Seeress' were almost always women, although men did occasionally become Seers, it was considered emasculating and unnatural.
Seeress' may also live in high, isolated places in order to be closer to the Gods, which Gothi most definitely does. They could also take vows of silence, which is most likely what Gothi has done, if she isn't physically mute.
Seeress' were highly respected and had a considerably amount of influence over their clan.
Berk's attitude towards the dragons
The end of Httyd 1 showed multiple people riding and co-habituating with Dragons. They had feeding stations (made out of old braziers), stables etc:
But RoB/DoB opens with the village seriously struggling to assimilate the Dragons into their lives, with the Dragons stealing food and shitting in the town square.
Fishlegs & Hiccup
Fishlegs is not Hiccup's friend in Httyd 1, he's one of Hiccup's bullies.
Fishlegs hangs out with Snotlout, the twins and Astrid and laughs along with them when teasing Hiccup. He may be a conflicted or opportunistic bully rather than a flat out asshole, but he's still participating.
Fishlegs is one above Hiccup in the pecking order, if Hiccup's not around to be bullied then Fishlegs is next in line. But as it stands Fishlegs is allowed into the friend circle, whereas Hiccup is not.
Fishlegs is the bully that needs Hiccup around so that he doesn't get bullied himself. He for sure wants to be friends with Hiccup too, but he's not going to risk his position in the group for Hiccup.
Snotlout & bullying Fishlegs
the series (The Iron Gronckle ep mostly) makes out that Snotlout has been terrorising specifically Fishlegs (both physically and verbally) to the point that Fishlegs has become meek and anxious because of him.
which is just blatantly not true, see my above point on Fishlegs being one of the bullies.
Snotlout is mean to Fishlegs, sure. but he's also mean to Hiccup, and on occasion to the Twins. Snotlout is second in command of this group's/generation's pecking order, and he only bows his head to Astrid because she is sitting solidly at the top (and he has a crush on her).
As soon as Astrid is booted off of her pedestal by Hiccup, Snotlout starts acting friendly to Hiccup. So does everyone save Astrid.
and once Hiccup is top dog, Snotlout takes orders from Hiccup, because Hiccup is the most successful and respected of their group. Even when they lead him into dangerous situations like the final battle against the Red/Green Death.
Snotlout is not The Bully TM he's just one of many bullies. He wasn't trying to single people out, he was just trying to fit in with the standard the adults of Berk had set, and one of those standards was bullying the weak.
Astrid & bullying hiccup
the series loves to forget that Astrid was the Leader of the group for most of Httyd 1, and she was at best a passive observer of their bullying Hiccup, and at worst an active participant. She shared Berk's views on "get tough or get out" and applied them to Hiccup.
Astrid took things a step further and started stalking Hiccup as soon as he started out pacing her in training. She pushed him around and hit him, while even Snotlout had only teased him.
Saying that Astrid and Hiccup have "known each other all [their] lives" in RTTE is true in that they have lived in the same village and grown up at the same time, but they most definitely weren't close in Httyd 1.

Welcome to Soc September!
This is a blog that will only be active during September! In The Outsiders fandom we put most of our focus on the greasers. So this event is dedicated to all the underrated SOCs in the book, movie, and musical! It's not a contest or anything, just something to appreciate them all and have fun! If you want to participate please tag things with Soc September or tag this blog!
Here is how to participate!
Make artwork, headcanons, fanfiction, etc. of any SOC characters! Whether its more well-known ones like Cherry or Paul. Or ensemble members of the musical! Heck, even soc ocs you might have work! We accept just about everything! The last full week of September will also have a special event with prompts on the daily! We do accept ships including greasers but the greaser can't be the focus.
Prompts are here
Things that aren't accepted
We don't accept writing or art of the following
NSFW things about any characters, if its a bit suggestive that's different. But don't do anything blatantly NSFW. Also do not justify characters' actions if they are truly terrible. If you're writing in Bob's perspective of jumping Pony and Johnny and he's like "They deserve it!" that's ok since it's his perspective. But if you're doing character analysis and you're like "Cherry was evil for not saying hi to Pony and Bob was in the right to try and murder Pony!" that's a bit different. Blood and such is allowed just put a TW!
If you don't know the SOCs here they are under the cut
Cherry Valance- The redhead that Dally hits on and helps change Pony's perspective on SOCs. Marcia is her best friend and Bob is her boyfriend (or ex depending on how you look at it) She can be rather fierce and has an interesting perspective on things. She's kinda the main soc
Bob Sheldon- A curly headed blonde (or straight, dark haired) 18 year old. He's more villanized in the book and is killed in self-defense by Johnny. He's a mean drunk but is also a good leader and well-liked by SOCs. Cherry's boyfriend.
Randy Adderson- A dark haired 18 year old. Best friend to Bob and helps jump Pony and Johnny. He has a change in perspective after Bob's death and has a chat with Pony that helps humanize the SOCs. He's the boyfriend to Marcia though it is disputed on if they actually care about one another romantically.
Marcia M. Marcia- A SOC girl with shorter black hair. She is best friends with Cherry and is not seen outside of the drive-in scene. She is very witty and has a flirtatious conversation with Two-Bit Mathews. Many have begun to ship them. She doesn't have a set last name nor really a visible personality.
Paul Holden- An older SOC guy. Used to be good friends with Darry Curtis. Currently in college and skilled in football. Not much is known about his history with Darry but the fans have come up with a lot of it.
Chet Baker, Trip (Terrence Ib), Brill (Clark Brillsteen)- Musical ensemble SOC boys. Friends of Bob. Chet seems to have a crush on Cherry and may get with her after the end.
Beverly- Soc girl ensemble, dislikes the greasers. Melody Rose has given bits and pieces of her personality but she doesn't have any lines.
Melvin and Sergei- The soc boy alter egos of melody rose and sarahgrace. The best soc boys overall
Greg Parker- He's from the weird TV show and I know next to nothing about him

GOD why can't I tag you 😭😭 @huuuuutao
CLUMSY AND CHAOTIC READER STRIKES BACK!
Omen
-he's so confused... how are you an absolute force to be reckoned with on missions but... this careless on base??
-honestly was curious if it was an act but after skulking about, unfortunately, it was anything but.
-decided to make sure you don't mess anything up because one of his hobbies is cleaning, but he doesn't want to clean up an absurd amount of [name] tracks.
-is always there to stop you from breaking or knocking anything over, he developed a sense for it. the second you slip, he's already steadying you.
-the closer you are to him, the more likely he'll help cover up your "evilllll deeeeeeeds".
-once, phoenix came into the living room while chasing after you. you were gone but omen was sitting on the couch knitting a blanket drapped over him.
-jamie asked for directions and omen blatantly lied about seeing you double back behind him.
-"he's gone now."
Neon
-guarantee you, if she's within line of sight she'll always catch you or whatever you knock over. -the second you even look like you're going to fall down, she's already stabilizing you with her arm. -last week, she sprinted across the whole dining room to stop you from hitting the floor. -needless to say, you were pretty in awe. her face was the complete opposite. -seriously worried about your lack of balance, wonders if it is a medical condition at times. -doesn't participate in the chaos, is more likely to stop you from doing anything dumb. she radiates big ate energy. -not impressed when you end up getting an earful from sage or skye. in fact, she'll give you one herself.
-"whoa there, don't go falling for me."
Fade
-well just like omen, how fade reacts is also dependent on how close you are to her. -she's fairly nonchalant about helping you up or keeping objects you tip over steady, probably going through mission reports or the sort on her tablet while she pulls you back by the arm. -when you actually do get hurt and come waddling back to her with the goofy ahh puppy dog eyes, she just- she can't. -drops you off at sage or skye immediately, she's no medical expert. but if it's anything tiny like a scratch she'll stick a band aid on it (she's got a pack in her pockets just for your dumb ass). -doesn't do chaotic stuff at all, she's got enough chaos to deal with. will prevent you from inconveniencing the protocol when possible. -if you're close close to her, she'll drag you into her room and make you crochet with her hehe. -hell, maybe she'll drag you into omen's room so you can all crochet together. -"no, you can't have more coffee."

Okay but that makes so much sense??? Like until you said it, it didn't really click just How Much Edward broke the masquerade but i think that fact has like, been itching at the back of my mind when it came to him and all the shit he pulled.
And the bit abt the Weylin twins too??? Like ohhhh so many things seem to click into place with your explanation.
And it just makes the fact that the all the participants in that game being masquerade breakers seem even more like. Manipulative on top of the fact we know he was also going to have Shilo endorse him. Like a "See? I hate masquerade breakers too. Ignore everything else I've been doing." thing.
Anyways if u have any more essays to drop on anything abt how the suckening uses or bends things relating to vtm please drop them. I crave more knowledge.
welcome to my sabbat truthing!!! i am so glad i made sense!!!
arent the camarilla all so fucked up in claiming everyone as masquerade breakers but then they do shit that is Also So Fucking Bad For The Masquerade!!!! the camarilla have always kinda been "do as i say not as i do" but charlie like truly hits the nail on the head with the complacency of the entire court. i am actually so obsessed with his world building and the implications of so many little things.
the whole entire finale is so manipulative and diabolical and i love it. edwards such a hypocrite it is so fun to watch an edward be on their high horse knowing he blatantly does worse than like oh god that one nossie that ordered uber eats Exactly One Time. but! thats how the masquerades played the higher you are in the hierarchy the less rules apply to you unless someone stages a coup. and the lower you are the worse a punishment is for a single infraction.
like the reason that gabriel is a masquerade breacher is Slightly because emizel went off the rails and anything your childe does reflects on the sire for choosing poorly. but its also very much because within the camarilla every single turning has to be sanctioned by the prince! emizel was an accident. gabriel freaks out because woah weird guy just bit me back. but also because that is a major masquerade breach according to the cams. and by letting emizel have the chance to live instead of immediately killing him gabe knew he was eventually going to die because of this choice. and just oughggh <- i genuinely cant remember if charlie ever explained this at any point
vampire the masquerade is a wonderful gothic horror ttrpg that is so so fun if you love to roleplay the complexities of personal relationships and also political intrigue. theres also video games. if you like video games you should play the video games.
i will get to writing more suckening essays in the future dont you worry 🫡

Honey totally did not remember what happened a few nights ago. At least totally. She remembered to clean the trash, remember to fix the holes in her walls. But evidently. Did not remember to turn the forest security system back on. Considering the visitor she had knocking at her door. And this place looked, well. Wonderful? Like some old, rustic botanical garden instead of the frat house party it was just a few days ago. The nymphs one would blatantly remember, who were participating in the debauchery or letting people hit illicit substances off of their bodies, were walking about and tending to the garden. The living plants and, almost hauntingly beautiful women, disappearing and turning back into normal plants as Artair walked by. A normal, cottage core, garden...
"Knockin' oh-- ayye-- HEEEEEY. It's ye-- ah'm.... sorry. Tae party woos alot and. Ah doon't... wuite remember yer name... BOOT. T'ank ye so mooch fer comin' lad. Please, please, come on in, Have ye eaten yet? Ah'll make tea." Oh there's the motherly.
Honestly, he was enamored with the whole place the moment he arrived. He remembered the house, and almost wasn't sure he was in the right area without its presence. But the nymphs he recognized as part of the party, and the area looked similar enough-- how many other building could there be in the deep woods like this?
But this place-- it was beautiful. There was a sense of something primal about the land, magic, and he felt it thrum along his skin. It felt--- safe here.
And he can't help but feel that Honey must be some part of the reason why, when he's greeted so warmly. She says she doesn't know his name, but she invites him in to share a drink with such an openness he has to blink, before he starts and slips inside. "Hello mi-- Um--- hello. I'm Artair-- it's absolutely okay not to know that, you were really busy that night and I didn't want to get in the way. It was a fun time, though!"
His fingers play with the box as he follows her. "You don't have to make anything for me either, please don't feel pressured! I uh. Just wanted to thank you for inviting me here. And for keeping everything under control as the host and all. And maybe meet you now that there's.... not so many people here." He laughs. "I brought-- tea too, actually. I wasn't sure what you'd like, but it's a case of different kinds. As a thank you for running everything." He pauses. "I'm sure with everything you have here, your blends might be higher quality though--your garden outside is very beautiful."

Artair approaches the house again, this time with a box in his hands. It had been a few days since the party and he wanted to check in with the host, Honey. With as busy and rambunctious as the party had been, he'd not had the chance to meet her or speak beyond an acknowledgement at the door. But he'd heard from quite a few guests how lovely she was. So... here he was, at her door once more. Hoping to meet the person who'd been so kind as to invite him. He knocked on the door, with the intention of leaving what he'd brought here if there was no answer. It'd keep at least; Honey had been described as 'motherly', which... didn't mean much. But he'd try his luck at an assortment of teas as a thank you gift for the party.

♞Pairing: Steo ♞Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Theo Raeken ♞Tags: canon divergence, Theo is part of the Ito pack, mutual pining, minor Malia/Stiles ♞Words: 2505 ♞Bad Things Happen Bingo - Blackmail ♞ao3
---
begin again
---
See, blackmail is something he expects from people like Theo and Peter, and Deucalion, maybe even Jackson on some special occasions. He didn’t exactly expect Malia to be the one to hold his secrets over his head to force him back into a relationship with her. After their breakup, after Theo and Lydia remember him, after a month-long and very awkward relationship with the latter, and Stiles leaving for Quantico — after all the signs proving that they’re just not meant to be, she decided that they are and that she would ruin his life if he disagreed. The threat alone wouldn’t have made Stiles agree to come back.
It’s the fact that she could very much ruin his life if she so chooses.
She knows everything about the nogitsune, how Stiles feels about it, the nightmares and memories, the things a human should not be able to do, and worst of all, the things he craves.
So, Stiles will have to play out her little fantasy until she’s either ready to move on or he found a way out of this mess.
Not that he can do anything about that right now. Although part of him hopes Malia will attach herself to one of the werewolves blatantly hitting on her. That’s what all these werewolf conventions are for, aren’t they? Politics and mating — or mating for politics.
“You look as bored as I feel.” Theo collapses into a chair next to him, tugging on his tie.
Stiles huffs out a breath. “I’ve been fighting the urge to pull a fire alarm for almost an hour now.”
“Is that why you don’t move?”
“If I get up I can’t guarantee anything.” Stiles glances around the room, watching werewolves mingle, watching some looking back at him. “Besides, I don’t think I’m particularly welcome here.” Kira decided not to participate from the very beginning. A fox amid hundreds of wolves probably isn’t a good idea. Stiles tried to tell Malia that it’s more than likely the same applies to him. Naturally, she didn’t listen and dragged him here. If he trusted Theo and his motives a little more, he’d ask whether it’s obvious or not. As it is, he should probably keep that to himself. One person blackmailing him is more than enough.
Theo crosses his arms on the table. “Your scent doesn’t match any of the packs here. It makes them nervous.” At least it’s not the fox thing. “The rumors going around probably don’t help either.”
That’s not something Stiles wants to hear. “Rumors?” he echoes regardless, trying his very best to sound nonchalant. “What type of rumors about a human could possibly be concerning for werewolves?” Because it would be perfect if they stopped floating around. The only thing more worrying than being an outsider in the middle of a bunch of werewolves is being an outsider who makes said bunch nervous. Conventions like these aren’t always peaceful. More often than not, fighting breaks out. Stiles would prefer not to be in the middle of it.
Theo’s gaze sweeps across the room, narrowing only slightly before he turns back to him. “It’s about what you’ve survived,” he says and, leaning closer, he adds, “what you might have become of it.”
Stiles stares at him and clenches his teeth. If he says a single word, he might out himself. Other than Malia, Theo is the only person who knows what may have become of him. Maybe Theo is the only one who really knows him — even the parts Stiles is hiding from himself.
“Kira is one thing, but you, Void?”
Stiles slams his hands on the table. “Is that a threat? Are you seriously threatening me?”
“No.” Theo doesn’t seem particularly bothered by the outbreak. He never is. For someone with a short temper, Theo has always proven to be very patient with him. “It’s a warning.” His gaze flicks back into the crowd. “Maybe you should get better friends because the ones you have are dropping subtle hints about what you are.”
Tensing visibly, Stiles narrows his eyes at Theo. “Malia probably doesn’t know any better.” The words are no sooner out of his mouth when he questions himself why he even defends her. She’s blackmailing him. She is actively fucking him over, and yet, here he is, protecting her image from Theo’s accusations.
Theo barks out a laugh, humorless and dangerous and perfect in every way possible. With a smile as dangerous as his laugh, Theo leans even closer. His breath brushes over Stiles’ cheek and chin, like ghostly fingertips tickling all those buried feeling back to the surface. “Do you really think,” he whispers, placing his hand on Stiles’ thigh, just high enough to be considered intimate, “that Malia is smart enough to blackmail anyone? Let alone you?” Theo leans even closer, pressing his mouth against the shell of Stiles’ ear. His hand moves higher, crossing lines and boundaries he shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near. But Theo doesn’t care. He never cared. Instead, he places his free hand on the side of his neck. “Let alone you, Void?”
Stiles pulls back so fast he almost slips off the chair. “Do not—“ he bites out and grabs Theo’s hand, not pulling it away, just holding them in place “— call me that.”
Theo’s smile only widens. “How do you think Malia knows about the video Agent McCall keeps hiding to protect you?”
Stiles can feel his blood run cold. This was supposed to be a secret only Stiles, Rafael, his dad and Scott know about. That footage will put him in prison faster than anything else ever could. There’s no convincing anybody that the person on the tape is a thousand-year-old fox demon wearing his face. Stiles thought it was destroyed, but if Theo’s telling the truth then— he furrows his brows. Wait. “How do you know about that?”
“That’s the question, isn’t it?” Theo squeezes his leg and gets to his feet. “If you come to your senses, Satomi always has a place for strays.” He nods toward the other direction of the room and leaves.
Heart pounding in his chest, Stiles watches him walk away. He’s probably more than aware of the damage he just caused. As per usual, Theo dug his fingers into all of Stiles’ biggest insecurities and tore him apart. The blackmail, his being a nogitsune, the friendship with Scott, and his feelings for the chimera. Theo knows him better than anyone, that’s why he can hurt him so much. But Theo also understands that Stiles needs this pain to start helping himself or accept another person’s help.
Stiles pulls his phone out of the pocket of his jacket and heads in a different direction. If anyone can get rid of this video footage, it’s Melissa — and the best person to talk to her is his father.
- - -
The good thing about his father dating Melissa is that they’re basically attached at the hip, so Stiles does not have to worry about his dad being alone again. Stiles could also hear the beginning of what would undeniably become a rather uncomfortable conversation for Rafael. The footage most likely will be deleted before the day is over.
The bad thing about his dad and Melissa dating is that they will end up in the crossfire of what’s going to be the end of Scott-and-Stiles, no matter how much they’ll try to keep them out of it. When Stiles told them about the blackmail, Melissa was sure there had to be a good reason or a misunderstanding. Stiles is sure Scott thinks he has a good reason, but it’s not a misunderstanding.
Stiles pushes his phone back into his pocket and returns to the main hall. He’s not going to stay long, all he’s wanting to do is briefly talk to Satomi. To be fair, he’s not sure if he actually wants to join her pack, but he’d at least would like to talk to her about what’s going on with him before she hears it from anybody else. He’d also like to talk to Theo again. Maybe. He doesn’t know.
“Hey.” Malia appears in front of him, stopping Stiles in his tracks, “where have you been?”
Although it’s really none of her business — now even less than before — Stiles decides to tell her. He’s going to leave anyway. She might as well know why. “I was talking to my dad,” he explains and crosses his arms over his chest.
She furrows her brows. “Where are you going now?”
“Satomi.” Stiles nods in the direction of her table, watching as Brett beckons Theo over.
Seeing him is probably what tips her off. Despite everything, their non-existent relationship wasn’t entirely a secret. People picked up on something between them. Malia noticed it too. “If you go over there—“
“Then what?” Stiles snaps his gaze back to Malia. “You’ll ruin my life?” The only person he was worried about knowing the truth about him already knows everything, and Scott turns around to blackmail him with it. Stiles should have never returned to the McCall pack. He was better off on his own. It certainly would have spared him a lot of pain and heartbreak.
Malia flashes her eyes. Once again, control is slipping through her fingers. It’s nothing new. She’s never been trained well. The only time she stayed mostly in control was when Stiles acted as her anchor. Maybe that’s why Scott wanted Stiles to date her again. It makes life easier for him. “You can’t do that. I’m going to tell everyone the truth about you.”
“Awesome, and while you’re at it,” Stiles says in a low voice, “tell Scott Melissa wants to talk to him. She didn’t sound particularly happy about the whole blackmail thing.” Smiling at her, Stiles turns on his heels and walks away. He’ll quickly talk to Satomi then he’s going to leave. Simple as that. He’s over all of this bullshit.
“I’m pretty sure,” Malia calls, her voice trembling noticeably, “the people here would like to know a fox is hiding in their midst.”
Although everything in him wants to stop and turn around, he forces himself to keep walking. If he pretends she isn’t talking to him, he might make it out of the room before the others are putting everything together — if they even care. It’s hard to tell with werewolves. There might be a lot who are just like Satomi and don’t care about foxes. There might be a lot of other wolves who consider the complete opposite. He works his fingers through his hair and catches sight of Satomi getting to her feet. The rest of her pack follows. Well, everyone but Theo, who is already right in front of him.
Smiling softly, Theo places a jacket around his shoulders. “Hey babe,” he says in a low voice, “let’s head out.”
Stiles narrows his eyes. “Excuse me?” He wants to brush off the jacket, but Theo keeps it firmly in place by grabbing his upper arms.
“I said let’s head out.” Still smiling, Theo places a hand on the small of Stiles’ back in an attempt to move him. The hand around his right arm tightens a little.
“No.”
Surprisingly, the smile does not slip from Theo’s features. Instead, he leans closer, pressing his mouth against the shell of Stiles’ ear again. “If you don’t want me,” he whispers, and it’s the most threatening tone Theo has ever used on him, “to throw you over my shoulder and carry you out of here, I recommend you come with me.” Gently tugging on the jacket, Theo stands back again.
Stiles wants to smack him. Hard. He curls his fingers into tight fists.
Theo’s hand slides down to his wrist, and he tugs him closer. His smile turns sharper. “Don’t even think about it.”
Grinding his teeth, Stiles glances over Theo’s shoulder. Oh, but he wants to. So desperately. Because it’s easier than leaning into the other boy. However, people are watching. Most packs wouldn’t dare to make a move on someone from Satomi’s pack whether she’s in the room or not, but the chance is not zero. Not at all. Theo, as of right now, is his shield and most likely the only person standing between him and being pounced on by a werewolf who thinks he’s sneaked into his place. Theo is putting himself at risk.
Stiles licks his lips. “Why are you doing this?” The last time Theo protected him, the whole thing was a setup. Theo used killing Josh to blackmail him. “You don’t care.” He wants something from him… unless he’s doing it for Satomi.
Furrowing his brows, Theo pulls back. For what it’s worth, he looks actually offended at the statement. “Of course, I care.”
“No, you don’t, and don’t give me that—“
Theo leans closer. This time, he’s not aiming to whisper in his ear. His warm breath brushes over Stiles’ cheek. It smells sweet like the stupid white wine Theo’s been drinking all evening. Gently, Theo nudges their noses together. The simple gesture feels too intimate to move, to breathe.
And then Theo kisses him. His lips are gliding against Stiles’, one hand cupping his jaw, the other pulling him closer. He’s kissing him, and his eyes are closed. He’s kissing him, and Stiles’ heart sings.
He wraps his arms around Theo’s waist, curling his fingers into the soft shirt. He’s holding on a little tighter than he needs to, but now that he has Theo exactly where he’s wanted him for years, the thought of letting go again makes his stomach turn.
The jacket slides from his shoulder, but Theo catches it with ease. His lips curl into a smile against Stiles’. When he wraps the jacket around him again, he uses it to pull him closer. His chuckle ripples through Stiles’ body, making him shudder, and press closer to Theo.
“Now that I’ve proved my point,” Theo whispers against his lips, “we’re going to make our exit.”
Stiles shakes his head, but he can’t help but laugh. “You’re a jerk, you know that?”
Theo hums. His fingertips run down Stiles’ arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake. “You love it.” With a small grin, he intertwines their fingers. “You look good in my jacket.” He slips an arm around his waist, pulling him to his side. When he leads him towards the exit this time, Stiles doesn’t even think about fighting it.
“Looks like I have a habit of dating people ready to blackmail me.” Stiles glances at Theo out of the corner of his eyes.
“I’m a changed person.”
“Right.” Stiles bites back a smile.
Theo pinches his side. “Careful,” he whispers into his ear again, probably highly aware of the goosebumps he causes, “I can still be vengeful, little fox.”
Stiles smiles and glances over his shoulder, spotting Malia and Scott standing side by side, watching them walk away. “Good.” Stiles turns to look at Theo, now smirking. “I’m counting on it.”

Hey Odin, I have a question about a situation involving racism I would value your opinion on (I'm leaving this public in case you'd rather reply privately, but feel free to post publicly). If you would rather not answer though that's 100% fine.
Say you have a white friend, presumedly someone you're more than just acquaintances with and have built at least a surface layer of trust with (but not necessarily a long-time or super close friend you'd feel hesitant to tolerate bullshit from), who invites you to his employer's annual Company Holiday Party as a +1. You and your friend meet up at a well known and rather expensive restaurant, exchange hellos, everyone is all smiles, and you two proceed inside. The party is in a private dining area with 2 long tables, everyone exchanges pleasantries and is seated.
Now it's been about an hour, enough time for plenty of drinks to be had. Whether you decided not to drink or you did and just enough time has passed, you're rather sober now. One of your friend's co-workers is on the opposite side of the private dining area, at the other table you're not sitting at, saying some unquestionably racist shit to the other people he works with. He's not blatantly using slurs, but is saying the same garbage talking points still being overused by every right-wing media personality arguing against any challenge to the status quo. You don't get the impression the man is intentionally saying these things to target you or to start drama, he's clearly just self-absorbed into his own bullshit with the people who agree with him or just willing to tolerate him. No one else seems uneasy or uncomfortable about this other than your friend, who is clearly embarrassed: you don't know if he's only embarrassed because his +1 is a black person or if he would be equally frustrated having invited someone else or no one, but you do know in this moment he wants to do something about it. As his friend you know he'd probably be willing to do anything that wouldn't immediately cost him his job (like starting a fist fight right then and there), but would definitely risk it if that consequence was just a probability instead of a certainty.
My questions are:
1.) What would you, Odin, specifically and personally prefer that something be? As in, what would you prefer him do/help you do to deal with his co-worker (even if that something was nothing at all)?
2.) Would your answer change if instead your friend didn't seem to mind what was happening (you wouldn't be sure without asking if he couldn't hear/wasn't aware of what was being said or if he was deliberately ignoring it)?
3.) Next year you are invited again as his +1 for the same company. Considering the conclusions from your above answers, do you accept or reject the invite?
4.) Have you ever been in a similar situation?
And lastly thank you in advance for your time dude, even if you decide to not participate I really appreciate you taking the time to consider it.
Long answer is long, sorry
A quick preface: Unfortunately, in the business world networking is a necessary evil, and most networking happens away from the job, or after hours at activities very thinly disguised as “work related” functions. I cannot speak for every Black person ofc, but this definitely is not an uncommon situation in the business world—especially the higher up you go in your professional advancements or “up” as in working for a Fortune 100 company.
Holidays, peak seasons (ie. tax time or close of fiscal years if you’re in banking/accounting; Christmas for the transportation industry; etc etc) and sports playoffs are the usual times of year for this “networking,” but any special occasion could make this an any-time-of-year occurrence.
And the thing you’re describing is “casual” racism, where the white (or non-Black people) almost “don’t know” that they’re being racist. For example , at a pool party “work function” a white woman peer was sitting in my lap in a jacuzzi and kinda sorta hitting on me, while trying to teach me how to smoke cigarettes (long story) and then saying, “but don’t nigger suck the cigarette” … and not realizing why I went tf OFF until her friend (the white guy who invited me to the affair) told her what she had literally just said.
IMPORTANT: That all said, if it’s NOT YOU who has to be there for business networking, like if you don’t gotta be there for YOUR job, then my short answer is no - don’t go, do not subject yourself to that. Life’s too short for that kind of fuckery. It’s one thing if you’re trying to survive in this racist environment, but if you don’t have to, then don’t. I wouldn’t.
The rest is for anyone else, or in case you DO have to network, @classicintp
Let’s do this in reverse order:
4) Yes, I have absolutely positively been in this situation before. Definitely way more times than I should have been.
3) If my work acquaintance handled it well, I would be tempted to go in the future, but tbh I wouldn’t go out of my way.
3.1) For me anyway, here’s how things worked: early on with a business, you don’t have a lot to lose financially speaking, right? So year-one I’ve nearly come to blows with racist coworkers/acquaintances in similar circumstances. Even when the starting salary was BIG, I didn’t have enough time invested with the company or in my own career - so telling someone exactly where they could go was never too long of a journey for me. But as time passes, and you start getting promotions and your bank account starts getting fatter … well, let’s just say you learn to be a bit more diplomatic and more concerned about your long term reputation in a nearly all white industry (that’s practically every industry, btw)
SN: This does NOT mean take any racist bullshit from anybody. No amount of money is worth your pride and dignity. You gotta be able to look in the mirror. If it crosses any red lines, you will know. Respond and react accordingly.
When this happened to me most recently, I have re-attended. For work. But the difference is that now, unlike early on, having been around my field for over a decade, I have made a fairly good reputation for myself, so not that it won’t or can’t happen again, it’s just a tiny little bit less likely. I might still be “the Black guy” at an industry function, but now it’s more like, “crap, it’s that Black guy,” so I have a small buffer zone between me and most casual racists.
2) If my “friend”/acquaintance did not speak up for me, I would dip and not associate with that person again unless they had a bullet proof reason for not speaking up for me. And not everyone will speak up, so be prepared for that. Maybe they rationalize it by telling themselves that they have to pay the mortgage and your “friendship” isn’t worth jeopardizing their career. Only YOU can say if that’s acceptable for yourself, but if they excused racism once, they will excuse it again. And I’ve been Black for damn near 39yrs, and if there is one thing I know that I know, it’s that white people will almost always equivocate for other white people, and make feeble excuses where “casual” racism is involved: maybe YOU misunderstood, maybe that’s not what they meant, maybe an alien entity was controlling their body…
1) Yes! I will always always always want my white friends and allies to help me deal with any work (or non-work ) related racism, no matter how large or small. Because even if or when I address it on my own, sometimes for SOME white people, hearing why something is problematic just doesn’t hit quite the same as it does coming from another white person. Unfortunately. And remember, I’m going to have to navigate dozens and dozens of similar situations in the future—if I do it alone, I gotta be 100% perfect every single time. Can’t make anybody cry, can’t be seen as too angry or too aggressive, etc etc etc. Having a white ally present/backing me up makes it easier.
Look, I’ve had a white subordinate tell me to my face, point blank, “The only reason you’re my boss is because you’re Black. They had to promote some Black person eventually,” and I suspended him for gross insubordination, without pay. Was I mad? Yes. Did I wish I had a witness who was a white ally that would have made it easier for me? Hell yes. But I lucked out in the end because HR and the union steward backed me up. I’ve had people make the racist, “what does a chainsaw say?” “joke” when they were certain that I was within earshot.
My point is, the shit WILL happen. You want your white work friends and acquaintances to help you deal with this shit whenever or however racism manifests itself.
And this is for anyone reading this: the same goes for speaking up against things like gay “jokes” or rape “jokes” or antisemitic/Islamophobic “jokes” and so many other common workplace micro-aggressions. If you want a good ally, you gotta BE a good ally, right??
The easiest way to deal with it is to firmly say you aren’t with that stuff the very first time it ever happens. Throw down some clearly visible markers so that everyone knows exactly where YOU stand. It doesn’t have to be a big speech or dissertation, a simple, “Hey, man, that shit’s not cool” will speak volumes.
Hopefully I didn’t ramble too too badly, and hopefully this was somewhat helpful, and most importantly, I hope your friend really IS a good friend and responds accordingly, as we would want the people we associate with , to respond

i wanna vent about orens which means i’m angry about hh so like to start off you have to understand that helix waltz is a refurbished and genre transported helix horizon which was a money grubbing jrpg themed fantasy gatcha cn rpg that happened to be headed by this one guy (Mingjing Yoshikawa) who thought having an actual story would make everything better, and he was right! to an extent! helix horizon did do well enough to get a sequel game, but god was the world building and premise covered up by so much horny fanservice that it was hard to take anything seriously
but how does that relate to orens? i’m so glad you asked! you see, orens were created in the world of helix horizon mostly to check off a bunch of older-than-they-look catgirl boxes to fill more niche kinks for the gatcha pool, and you can see this in other characters in HW too (florna hitting the weirdly prevalent busty blonde nun with glasses and anxiety template), which is why orens are largely stupid, child-like, cutesy characters with cutesy names and manner of speech that all have one defining characteristic, because that is the result of churning out gatcha characters, and while HW did a pretty good job patching over HH to make a functional character driven visual novel/dress up game, they never really took orens seriously enough to make them people
i know that orens do get their own political faction in s2 and there’s moves to give them full citizenship, but it is very much an “in spite of everything” kind of move, like the writers for the game are giving orens rights because it is bad to not take the side of characters they wrote as oppressed minorities, instead of because they’ve shown that orens are people that deserve rights
let me explain, in-game orens are described as humanoid orcs, so we can infer that orens are closer to a type of fantasy monster (not people) than fantasy race (people), but they look and act humanoid enough to coexist with other humanoid races like elves and demons, this means we should expect a lowered intelligence and animal-like instincts/characteristics (ie cat orens napping a lot and fox orens being crafty), but on top of that, orens are also glaringly child-like, which i assume is a holdover from the older-than-they-look-loli trope, the most egregious example of which is motiti
i want to like motiti, i really do, but she is literally the poster child for every negative oren stereotype and the story practically bends around her to allow her to exist in-universe, which is insane because she was created just for helix waltz, every other oren that we’ve met has been a fully grown adult regardless of their cutesy appearance, all of them have adult jobs and responsibilities and get mad about being infantilized by others, so we can assume motiti is an adult, she is never treated like a child by the other orens (not even brala - who immediately tried to take care of nyx (16ish teen) - treats motiti like a child), it’s just magda who does this (magda is canonically bigoted in that she treats all oren like they’re children even after helena called her out on making light of brala’s blatantly romantic/sexual crush on her because she never saw him as an adult), and we have no in-universe explanation for why she’s so fucking stupid, her one goal in life is to wear cute maid dresses. she doesn’t... she doesn’t even want to be a maid... I... she’s not even interested in maid dresses in general, just- she just wears them without knowing anything about fashion or quality or modeling or makeup just-
another great example of infantalizing orens is bacon day, bacon day is an oren holiday where pieces of bacon are tied to trees and roofs with long pieces of string so that they dangle around, enticing orens to pounce on them, in-game giulolo was the only oren that had a problem with this because she thought it was undignified, we later find out that she thought it was undignified for a very childish reason and participates in bacon day happily after replacing bacon on strings with books on strings, i think it really just pisses me off so much because they could have actually taken a stance on how orens perceive themselves and deal with the prejudice they face and how giulolo, who meets a lot of rich merchants and nobles through her job, might have taken issue with an oren tradition that feeds into the perception of orens being no better than dumb animals, it’s just this kind of pervasive attitude of the writers never allowing oren characters to actually be sapient enough to comment on their own circumstance that undermines the entire narrative of orens being oppressed peoples and not just animals who can talk, none of them have the capacity to talk about all the horrific murders committed in broad daylight by humans because orens have no protection under the law, this also happens to elves as well, none of the elf characters will give a solid answer on why they’re so ok with being enslaved to humans despite being intellectually, physically, and magically more developed, the two times an elf suggests that they’re unhappy with their situation get quickly resolved without actually changing anything, and i will forever be mad that nala wasn’t chosen when HH was turned into HW (nala was a bavlenka elf that raged against the prejudice she experienced by physically beating the shit out of anybody that said anything racist about elves in her vicinity, she is blatantly unhappy with the way things are and says so)
bUt It’S a DrEsS uP gAmE, why are you expecting nuanced social criticism from an app where you pay 25 dollars to get a pretty jpg that makes the plot progress, shhhhhhhh, i’m just in love with what could have been
#rant#i understand that motiti is the useless cute mascot character but bru did they have to do her so dirty#like look i can characterize her better#she's a teenage oren who moved to the big human city because she fell in love with the concept of maids#so by sheer fucking luck she got a job as a maid but she fucking sucks at it because she's still growing and has severe dyslexia#severe dyslexia can make you mix up directions and mess with your sense of balance making you very clumsy#which also keeps her illiterate and severely limits her ability to adapt to life in finsel#despite this and how nobody actually tries to help her because most of the staff and everybody in charge of her are all racist and actively#sabatoging her so that she'll get fired and they won't have to deal with her anymore#her goal is to become the best maid ever#not just wear the fucking dress#which means learning all the intricacies of unspoken human social rules and how to tell quality from expensive trash#she idolizes lucilia as the most competent maid in finsel#and chases her around trying to learn from the master and begging lucilia to take her on as an apprentice#which does double work in giving lucilia more screen time outside of her relationship with florna#there was that so fucking hard

Perpetually furious
Anyway, this is a vent post containing Internet "friendship" drama, swearing and discussion of death. Replying is okay, ignoring is okay, reblogs are disabled, I just figured I can throw one of my old 2020 reaction images in here as well since I never did and I'm not sure I'd ever find a better post to illustrate with it (originally, it was made for something long since irrelevant).
*looks at his empty wrist* As of right now, it's been 5 days of me being furious because I saw one (1) mention of a few nicknames I never-ever want to see again. This is after I blocked the people, added their nicknames to filtered post content and tags and then also enabled "Hide filtered posts entirely" in XKit (yes, I don't want to see even someone else's posts reblogged from them and to even know my mutuals are still following them). If I can't disappear them off the face of the planet with my mind, I will at least disappear them off my dash. The thing I had to find out 5 days ago... if a filtered word is in the middle of a tag it won't get filtered out. And my habit of reading my mutuals' tags made it so I read a forbidden nickname and has been in a state of fury ever since.
I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.
And before anyone tries to say the word "therapy"?.. Yes, I am doing that. It's been, mind you, 6 sessions already of me retelling these 3 seasons of a dramatic soap opera these people involved me in (fyi I have never been a participant of a fandom/Internet drama until meeting them). And my plan has been to only think about the drama during therapy so it doesn't plague my life the way it did for the past 8 months. My therapist also agreed it's better we do it at my own pace, and actually despite the previous session being the one I was supposed to reach the end of the story on, I felt I don't want to talk about them, about the worst that happened, and we didn't. Apparently, talking about my guilt over me being unable to support my best friend when her mum died and how much the reminder of my parents dying in the future hit me is easier than talking about the way my "friends" behaved.
Shitty two-faced bitches, and I wish I knew worse words to describe them. The one who backstabbed me twice, told someone I loved I don't have emotions, don't love anyone and is just a manipulator, lied to them that they know me well (we talked twice, I literally only wished them happy birthday), then talked to me like nothing happened and only admitted to lying to my face and playing with me (or "joking around" in their own words when nothing really has been a laughing matter in that situation) when they needed my help. They watched me defend them, waited it out and only came clean and apologised because they didn't want to be on the bad side of someone in higher position than them. And then claimed I harassed them and blatantly lied about how often we talk a few months later to get me out of the way.
The other one who didn't reach out despite knowing me for almost a year just because someone else mentioned they had a fight with me, and they decided they better leave it be and just ignore something happened (in hindsight, no wonder, since they believed immediately when someone else started to whisper things about me into their ear later) but then only started talking to me because I guess I'm an easy person to vent to or something. True, I also vented to them because they claimed they're my friend. I didn't realise their friendly attitude is fake, and as I was later told they "wear a mask", and apparently I was just supposed to know it instead of thinking them to be my friend. They used my skills for their needs and then became cold to me when it turned out my character (which they considered aggressive when I was saying things as they are, snarkily replied to rude remarks or just wasn't using emoji) outweighs my usefulness... and got angry at me when I asked them not to speak to me like a child. I was supposed to just take it according to them. And when I decided being under them is too much after they tried to force me to unblock a person who triggered me, they discouraged other people from contacting me, condoned another person to share my private information (some of it taken from a vent even) and lied to people we both know they were saying things to me in DMs which they never did (i.e. "I told them I'd love them back" when they said "I never wanted you to feel upset" and never invited me back or even apologised, then blocked, told me I'm manipulating the events and refused to talk to me afterwards). And all of that while they and their friend continued to misgender me in the space where they thought I wouldn't see it!
And yet another one creeped on me in DMs after they read some melancholic tags on one of my posts and encouraged me to vent to them. And when I got surprised, considering I thought they don't like me since they never interacted with me in public and even ignored me multiple times, they said how I seemed so unapproachable to them and they "waited for me to come to them", and how they actually care a lot and they kept behaving extra sympathetically (and I have no idea how I didn't realise how creepy all this sounds, I guess I held them in such high regard not to question their sudden behavior too much). Later, they told me they like to chat to people privately "friendly and civil" to "keep their enemies close". Yeah, I know, embarrassing I didn't realise this is what they were doing to me... But I only realised after they out of nowhere blocked me without saying a single word after I decided not to work with their friend anymore and said friend then used the info against me that was... strangely familiar to something I didn't talk about to them but to their quiet "keep-my-enemies-close" friend instead. Interesting, right? Not even mentioning the screenshots of their private blog I was sent later where they seemed to quip about me and how I ruined their fun. Sure, I should have just stayed to be the butt of the joke for them.
Well, now, should I also talk about the stupid idiot who I had in my Friends because I thought there's no bad blood between us only to one morning discover they unfriended me and are going around shared servers spreading info that I "blocked them"? And they thought so because... Bet you won't guess? Because they claimed the yellow exclamation mark on Discord desktop app is "the blocking indicator". Just so you know: it's "the indicator" that means Discord can't pull up/load the up-to-date info about the person such as their userpic, about or badges, usually if you aren't friends, or simply don't share servers anymore, or haven't talked in a while. This is done for security reasons. It is in no way "the blocking indicator". The only valid way to know someone blocked you is to try adding a reaction to their message – if they blocked you, the screen will "shake off" the reaction on desktop or simply disappear the reaction or tell you it's unable to add the reaction on mobile (they seem to change it back and forth). In any case, it's impossible for your friend to block you and stay a Friend because Discord automatically unfriends people if one of them blocked the other. But that pinnacle of stupidity saw the "indicator" and then unfriended me because they thought I blocked them, and also was vindictive enough to tell it to everyone. Honestly, this is not the worst thing, I actually got a good laugh out of that part... It is the fact that other people believed them without checking in with me. And started blocking and unfriending me, too. *sigh*
Alright. I'm not as bad as before, now it's somewhat calmer fury, and my eyes are wet so I hope I might cry. Maybe it will help to release this heavy feeling.
And one last thing... If you're reading that, if you reached the end of this post, and anything I said makes you feel uncomfortable about me, just unfollow me. If you've been there and saw what went down starting April 2021 and ending July 2022 and you think I was the only one in the wrong, just unfollow me. If you're only being friendly with me because this is what your culture dictates and you want to be polite and nice, just unfollow me. If you're only here to "keep me close", just please, please, unfollow me and leave me alone. If you consider me a friend, tell me so. I can't stand this guessing and pretending anymore.

Apologies for the long gap between writing or any posts!! Life got a bit wild there, and I'm going to be starting a new job soon, but mostly I've been writing things for myself.
Now, usually, even if I write things for myself... I'll switch out any characters of mine and make it an x reader and post it for everyone to see here.
However, since scrolling through several tags on tumblr... I've been a little discouraged to post anything. Mostly because of discourse that I've seen on here, and while not trying to ruffle any feathers... I'm going to be vaguely posting about where I stand on some things in terms of writing
1.) I will never write about real people/celebrities.
I just personally think it's kind of weird. I don't like romanticizing actual people I don't know in person. (And even if I did know them in person, I wouldn't do it.)
2.) I might imply some ships depending on the fandom, but I have hit a point in my life now that I wouldn't write about ships.
I'm very neutral on a lot of them, or consider myself a multi-shipper for others, and don't like getting involved in ship wars, I think it's kinda stupid.
3.) All of these characters that I write about are fictional.
Which is why even if they are considered "minors," I'm not too worried about it because at the end of the day, they aren't real.
HOWEVER, there are some that I would not write about because not only are they a minor, but they very blatantly have a childlike mindset, for instance, Luke from Obey Me! Will always be platonic. The same goes for Ortho from Twisted Wonderland, or even Gon and Killua from Hunter x Hunter. I don't like lolicon and would never write about it, even if the example is like Honey from Ouran Host (who is legal age but acts like a child).
Some of these characters I started liking or finding comfort in when I was even younger than the age they are now. Most of these shows that the character is in will never age because the fandom is done. Rex Salazar from Generator Rex, for instance, is 16 in the show, and it came out in 2010. I was 10 when the show aired and found comfort in him. The show has been over for YEARS, but I keep aging, but that character, who's fictional, wouldn't technically age with me, despite him being older than me at one point in time.
Which is why I personally don't typically mind writers aging up characters (there are some exceptions.) so that it could fit their story.
When I write X Readers, most of my writing is either blatant or implied that the reader would be the same age as the character I'm writing about. Even if that means both "characters" are 15.
This leads me to 4.) I will NEVER write about an inappropriate age gap between a minor and an adult.
Even if that age gap is 16 and 18, or even 17 and 19. I would rather them be the same age or over consenting age (though it depends on the country, some countries consenting age is 17... In mine, it is 18, so I would write it as 18.)
But what I'm meaning is like someone being 25 and the other 28 or something. If it's a monster romance thing, that's where it gets tricky, but typically, I would still write the human character being over 21 since that's the legal age to drink and do other things in my country.
5.) I will NEVER write incest, even step-incest, in any way.
Even if you are step-siblings with no blood relation, they are siblings, and that is incest. It's gross.
6.) I will NEVER write any "daddy" or "mommy" kink, especially ddlg, age play, or anything of that nature.
It makes me mad fucking uncomfortable even if it's technically two consenting adults. I don't like it.
Other thoughts down below:
As someone who has taken extensive psychology of sexuality classes throughout the years, I understand that minors have sexualities of their own and want to participate in sexual settings.
However, when it comes to the internet, it can be very dangerous, and as adults on the internet we would be the ones getting in trouble even though it was the minor who decided to interact with the adult content.
We (adults online) can't monitor all of you, and it should be the minor's parents' responsibility to watch and guide the minor instead of us online. That's why so many of us put "MDNI" and actively block minors or ageless blogs who do interact with adult content. It's to keep both the adults and minors online safe.
While all of my fluff stuff is fair game, I will be editing a lot of my writings to now blatantly say what the ages are in the story. Yes, even the "reader's" age.
Don't get me wrong, I am upset that there are a lot of people who write mostly smut for characters, especially those of certain ages. As someone who's asexual, I'd love to see more fluff for characters or even platonic love between characters. I can understand why there are minors on here who are upset about the content on tumblr regarding certain characters. I know I'll try my best myself to hopefully keep my content at a nice balance to hopefully be more inclusive.
But, at the end of the day, if ANY of my fictional characters I adore were to come to life, I'd immediately detach myself from them for a lot of reasons. 1.) I'm ace, 2.) I'm a lesbian and most of the characters I like are men and 3.) Age then would become an issue.
But I don't have to worry about thay because they are all FICTIONAL. FAKE. So I'm going to keep finding comfort in them and write about it, just like I have since I was 10 years old.
If people are uncomfortable with that, unfollow. Or, have a civilized conversation with me about it, help educate me better without being rude about it. Because if you come at me with aggression, I will actively be ignoring you. I would love to learn and be educated. Hell, people have already called me out, and I've corrected it. I'm not above admitting I'm in the wrong. But there are some things that I truly believe, and that's the points above.

Heyy, here for your free readings!
My intials are EE
First of all, there's this guy in my class, and Idk anything about him, except his name, and he seems like cute, I mean he's good, ykwim 😭 I mean it's just been like 4-5 days, and ugh- idk if I should try to form a friendship, and there's noooo way I'll be the first one to make a move or anything
Ugh idk what to do,
So, can I know about him ? Like is this crush going anywhere or it's gonna end just like this?
aight EE you’re up!! thanks for participating! 👊👊
hmmm before you fantasize about this mans any further, there is a bit to break down (ruminating abt a life w him is prob not in your best interest). so there’s an obvious rush, an urge to wanna be with this guy. great!! HOWEVER, there are some things to consider. there’s definitely a lack of commitment, either in home or financial life. it seems like there’s already conflict here or there is going to be, based on your energy rn. so if you continue to live like you are right now, day to day, after this reading as if nothing happened? you’ll need to sort out some issues first. your energy is going in a direction where it gets crushed by many people or things in life to mature and either cut ties with those around you, your environment, or your own layers. there’s a lot of focus on gaining money and some sort of stability first bc the nature of this guy is lowkey bland af. maybe he’s one that relies on looks rather than personality? whatever it is, not the greatest vibe. if you happen to follow family traditions or engage in cultural events, etc., this guy doesn’t give a damn. he’s either slow in learning and taking in info, but his brain has lesser grooves in it than sheep do (aka bro is a lil dumb or blatantly ignorant and doesn’t care). either way, he gives “idk idc” brain energy.
ok so now we get to pulling his cards. it seems like he gets away with a lot of things by looks or begging or whatever- i was getting some slacky, noncommittal cards but as i further clarified, … this is a possibility as well: maybe he’s grown up in a poor household—it’s either this, or he’s the one causing instability, at least in material. he seems to run away from problems a lot. “escaping from treacherous waters.”
if you do get involved with this person tho, it could trigger an onslaught of crazyyyyy ass events in order to get you to an abundant place in your life. you’d have one big character death basically, and it would fuel you to work hard and do ambitious things.
if you wanna develop some kind of relationship with this guy, try platonic first, just as you’d mentioned. then you can see more bits of his personality for yourself.
the choice is up to you EE! imo, this guy kinda seems scummy, but hey, to each their own yk? thank you again!!
if you have feedback, i will gladly accept with open arms bro hit me w it :)

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun || Book Review
Star Review: 3.5/5⭐
Tropes: Dating Show ????
This was another read I got from booktok! I wish I would learn my lesson, for real. This book was, like, some people's #1 read ever, and very very highly praised, so I set my expectations high and began to read it.
Honestly, it didn't meet my expectations. Not from a this-is-literally-a-piece-of-shit standpoint, but from the way that the story was told and the way the plot developed. If you like a very easy and very blunt read with characters that have blatant nuance rather than subtle and developing nuance, this book is for you. It's not a bad book by any means, it just felt kind of amateur in the way it was written. Which isn't a criminal offense.
To put positives first, this book is an amazing gay romance with a diverse cast of characters, commentary on misogyny and biphobia, a very fun setting of a dating show (this was probably my favorite part of the book! it was so fun to see these characters having to work on a set as someone with no experience in doing that!), and a generally sweet love story.
This book also includes self discovery and talks about finding their genuine passions, meeting other's expectations, and finding parts of themselves that they didn't know existed or had repressed. There is representation of anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, and destigmatizing therapy.
Honestly a very sweet and lovely book, definitely recommend for an easy read romance! I'll talk about parts I disliked under the cut, spoiler warning!
When I talk about reading being a very solitary and personal experience, this is what I mean. This book has been super widely liked, but it just didn't hit all the marks for me.
When we talk about the diversity of this book, it kind of fell flat in the way that everything was written so blatantly instead of developing over the span of the story.
This started when Skylar was introduced, the paragraph describing her reads: "As a queer black woman, Skylar Jones did not become the lead director of a reality television juggernaut by having chill. When she developed early female pattern baldness before forty from the stress of this job, she simply began shaving all her hair off."
I genuinely love and understand the sentiment of wanting to have representation in your writing, but I do feel like these points could have been expressed in better ways rather than just one paragraph in the beginning of the story telling you everything about this character. Because of this, it feels like it was added specifically and only for diversity, which isn't the coolest.
Another point in the book is Charlie having anxiety and OCD. I don't have OCD nor have I researched it very thoroughly, so I can't comment on the way it's been shown here, but I do have anxiety so I feel like I can talk about it.
It felt like Charlie's anxiety was kind of just an excuse in the beginning to push him away from interacting with the show. He signed a contract and consented to the show, but when he got there he consistently walks off set and refuses to participate in the beginning. Later in the book, he is able to participate and talk to the girls almost completely okay, but this is only after he realizes his feelings for Dev. This bothers me because his anxiety isn't dealt with or expanded upon much later in the book, and is only really used as a plot point in order for him not to have to get close with anyone on the show.
Also, Maureen's entire character was an L. I have nothing more to say about her. Cochrun succeeded at making a genuinely unlikeable antagonist, and she didn't even have that major of a role.
The last point that I specifically didn't like very much was the ending. The time skip fell flat because we didn't see anything that happened in between, we just jumped to when Dev's issues had already been mostly solved and when Charlie had already figured out what to do. I wish it had been talked about more so that we felt as though we were looking at a character that had developed and shown development, rather than just being told that he worked on himself and is over it now.
That's all from me!
