Oh, the Labyrinth man, whose name I don't even know, is still alive. He was stabbed in the stomach last time and doesn't look much better now. I don't know why, but I was starting to like him a bit.

Pics from the filming of The Count of Monte Cristo limited series, Summer 2023, Paris.

So this collage was sent to me by my mutual @jesstasticvoyage (thanks as ever for wading through the sewer that was once called twitter) sometime in August 2023. I've had it bookmarked for more than a year, yes. As we've now heard more about the TV show, I thought I'd do a post with some speculation about what the pics could be.

Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with the whole cast, with the exception of Sam Claflin and Jeremy Irons, and now Karla-Simone Spence, so it's hard for me to distinguish which actors there are. If any of you recognise anyone, please do interact.

I'm puzzled about all the prams, but I think they're all extras, existing as a background to the characters taking a walk in the park. Top left pic: no idea who the guy in the middle is, but that's Edmond and Mercedes standing at the very far left (closer up pics of them were released last summer too, they're on IMDb.)

Middle row right and bottom row left, I think that's Albert and Eugenie (Eugenie in the white and pink) and the other lady in the second pic perhaps Louise? Then the bottom row right, I think that woman with red hair in white is Madame Danglars. She looks like she is on the way to a clandestine meeting with her lover. (So that red-headed Gaston character, who has recently been added to the cast on IMDb might well be Benedetto/Andrea.)

The middle pic, I hazard a guess that the guy sitting on the bench with the piece of paper is Villefort. No clue about the rest. The dude with those gendarmes (are they gendarmes?) waving could be Fernand or Danglars, or he could be nobody. He could also be Debray, on his way to the above mentioned clandestine meeting, but Debray appears to be the guy who is with Albert when he challenges the count in that clip and he has a moustache, while this dude is clean shaven, so idk. Middle left, seems to be a gathering of people, could that young woman gazing into the distance be Valentine?
