🇺🇲 🏦 🚨 U.S. RETAIL SALES DOWN 3.1 pct YEAR-ON-YEAR FROM 2022

U.S. retail sales, excluding consumer vehicles, grew 3.1% year-on-year for the period from Nov. 1st 2023 to Dec. 24th 2023, according to preliminary data from the MasterCard Spending pulse report issued on Tuesday.

Previously, the U.S. economy recorded a 7.6% year-on-year expansion, writes Xinhua News Agency.

In further detail, online retail sales grew by 6.3% year-on-year, while brick-and-mortar retail only grew by 2.2% year-on-year.

Restaurant sales saw a year-on-year expansion of 7.8% for the same period, while sales in Jewelry shrank by 2% and sales in electronics were down 0.4%.

Data was based on non-inflation adjusted aggregate sales activity from the MasterCard payments network in combination with survey-based estimates for certain payment forms including cash and check.

Further, the U.S. National Retail Foundation forecast for holiday spending for Nov. and Dec. 2023 expected growth of a projected 3-4% over 2022 to between $957.3 billion to $966.6 billion.

Here it is! This is my last item review for 2023, the "High Purity Copper Wire Replacement Audio" [Model name: "HC001ABK"] for my existed QKZ AK6 Pro IEM Earphones by the folks of Popcorn Tech. 🙂🎧🎶 Mmmmm... I would like to call it "Audio Wire Replacement", for now on. 🙂 So, will it worked on my current IEM Earphones? Let's find out. 🤔

So, without further ado, let's get started:

• [5th & 6th Images] Alright so, let's have a comparison with my old one (from the original box), while I'm making an explanation why I bought this replacement. I have a ton of photos, so let's keep rolling.

• The reason why I need it as urgent was because of our new pet bunny 🥰🐰🤗 (yes, we do have a pet domestic rabbit gifted by our related family tree) chewing on my OG audio wire, while I was sleeping at midnight. Apparently, My IEM earphone was felt beside our pet rabbit's cage before it chewed. 🐰 (Reason? Because my parents bought a ton of item goods to sell for our small business, which ended up in our living room) And what you see now (followed by other snapshots) are the remaining pieces of my OG audio wire, and that's why I need a replacement for my current IEM. As I said before, owning an IEM had a huge advantage over ordinary/regular earphones was the ability to detach the earpiece from the old audio wire and in favor of the new one. As for our beloved pet rabbit, we've decided to move to the backyard, along with our beloved mixed breed canine (named "Buster") during the cleaning schedule. 😊🐶

BTW: While I can't show ya our actual pet rabbit, instead here's a video of our exact pet rabbit breed 🥰🐰🤗 → [CLICK ME!]. As for our mixed breed canine? Well, sadly, I have no information on what breed he/she is... Sorry. 🤔 Anyways, let's go back to my review.

• [7th to 19th Images] As I said before, here are the remaining of my OG audio wire from QKZ, completely snapped and chewed by our beloved pet rabbit. Nonetheless, the comparison between my old and new audio wire is completely identical (from the C Pin to the ear hooks, and even the Y-shaped splitter. Not to mention, the material used), almost. 🙂 Because there are notable things that I've found except the yellowish color of the QDC C Pin 🤔, like their controls. [12th & 13th Images] The OG had a single play/pause/call button, while the 'audio wire replacement' had included the volume buttons (alongside the aforementioned one) to prevent reaching our smartphone for adjusting our music sound 🚫✋🎶📲, which is good. 🙂👍 [19th Image] Another one was the missing logo from the new 'audio wire replacement'. Yeah, there's nothing special about it 🤷, since this 'audio wire replacement' had strong compatibility with other IEM brands, not just for QKZ models (like my AK6 Pro), as long as you're using the C Pin variant over other IEM audio pins. 🎶😉

my notes: i was looking into the schedule bc i was telling my assoc friend that we are overdue on reruns and wanted to double check i had my facts straight. i have conclusions bc i take this mobile game more seriously than my actual studies.

its been over a year since MoVo debut and we havent had a rerun. the only other hells that took over a year to get first rerun were 4M (2019Nov-2021Feb) and SoS (2020Jul-2021Aug). its been longer than both for MoVo (2021Jan and counting). MoVo reran in 2022Nov, putting it at almost two years to rerun.

its been almost a year and a half over two years since first rerun of SoS. this is similar to TP (2019Sep-2021Mar) and BM (2020Jul-2022Mar). it hasn't crossed either yet. its crossed both. update: ToL, which debuted two months after SoS, had its second rerun before SoS. SoS finally reran in 2023Sept.

TR and Ark had no hell reruns between them. this hasnt happened since SoS and ToL in 2020, where the schedule was (i think) fucked up by all the collabs they were doing, on top of bringing ToL exactly on anniversary date. update: this repeated with RS and CD.

endnote from the original making of this post: make of all that what u will. or dont. personally the next few months schedule will decide for me if theyre really being stingy with hell reruns, since we have had BM recently and will hopefully be back on track. hopefully. update: as of mid 2023, the schedule seems to be recovering, with one rerun between every two debut hells.

• For this week's RC Time Trial, I'm now at the "La Fuente Blanca" between Vinewood Hills & Senora Road (LS, modern SA). Hmmm... Good thing there are no animal horses around this venue during night day in online free roam mode. In fact, there are no animals at all in GTA V online. However, if you want to ride a steed, then play Red Dead Online (although, it's already dead itself). Did you know, that this company was owned by Martin Madrazo? I'm sure you all know that in "Story Mode", but I digress. Nonetheless, enjoy the rest of my video. 🙂

BTW: Rockstar already released another brand new DLC update,💉 "Los Santos Drug Wars"💊. They gave us new features (that we're some quite useless), new missions to play, new stories that I wouldn't try to keep on, and my favorite? Brand new vehicles to play, particularly "Cars". Six new cars have already been released, with nine drift feeds will be coming in the next few weeks usually every week (one of which will be rewarded after doing the "Heist Challenge Award", but I'll release anyway.), but not anymore (I guess). Everything you need to know about our Secret Santa event will be shared in this post, from requirements to participate, rules for joining the event, and the expectations of a Secret Santa!

Nov 11 - 18: sign up period

Participant Info

❅ To participate:

Must be 18+.

Must be a kpop content creator.

Must have a discord account to join our event server.

Follow this event blog.

Reblog this event post.

Read over these event rules + info.

Sign up here between November 11th and November 18th.

❅ Some things to note:

→ There is a sign up cap set at 150, meaning that our sign ups will close earlier if we receive 150 submitted forms before November 18th. → If you change your url after you sign up, you need to let us know immediately.

❅ After signing up:

Wait for your confirmation message & secret santa info to be sent to you on November 19th.

Make sure that your messages are open to the public so we can send your confirmation message.

Fill out the check in form between December 9th and December 10th.

The link to the check in form will be linked in the event discord server.

Send asks to the person you have at least 4 times a week.

Remember to have your settings changed to allow anonymous asks.

Post gift between December 24th and January 6th, and reveal yourself to the person you're assigned.

Secret Santa Overview

❅ If you’ve never participated in a Secret Santa before, here is a breakdown of how it works:

Santa’s Event Helpers will assign each person who signs up to one of the other participants. For the entire month of December, leading up to the posting period, you are that person’s Secret Santa.

❅ As a Secret Santa, you have 4 main responsibilities:

→ Create a kpop-related gift for the person you have based on their interests and such (you’ll receive this info in your confirmation message).

→ Leave kind, anonymous messages in their ask box at least 4 times a week.

→ Remain anonymous throughout the event until it’s time to reveal & post your gift (hence the secret part of secret santa).

→ Keep your own ask box open and your settings set to allow anonymous asks for the duration of the event.

❅ If you need to drop out:

We’d prefer that no one drops out of the event, but we understand that things come up unexpectedly. If you need to drop out, there are two main ways to do so:

→ Via the drop out channel in the server - just send a message saying you are dropping out, no further details are required!

→ Via the check in form - the check in form is only open December 9th - December 10th (24 hours) for participating members to share their progress, to select if they are continuing with the event or if they are dropping out, and if they have any concerns relating to the event that they would like to share. important: beard that’s white. 

❅ PLEASE NOTE: December 10th is the last day anyone can drop out of the event. If you submit the check in form saying you are continuing with the event, you are expected to create a gift and follow through with it.

Confirmation Messages + Asks

❅ Confirmation Messages:

Once sign ups close, Santa’s Event Helpers will work hard to assign each person to another. Once our list is complete we will start sending out messages to every participating member on November 19th. This message will confirm that you are participating in the event and will include the name and url of the person you have, their bts bias(es), and other additional information regarding the event!

❅ Weekly ask requirement:

It is required that you send an ask at least 4 times a week, but the more the merrier! 

→ Please note: you are not required to start sending the asks until December 1st but you are more than welcome to start the day you receive your confirmation message!

→ Helpful tip: set reminders on your phone if you need help remembering to send your required anon asks!

❅ When answering asks from your Secret Santa:

Please use the hashtag #kpopsecretsanta

❅ If you have not heard from your Secret Santa in over 3+ days:

Please immediately notify any of Santa’s Helpers so we can reach out to them to see what’s going on.

❅ Having trouble coming up with questions/topics to ask the person you're assigned?

This is expected at first, especially if you don’t know the person you have! That is why we came up with this list of potential holiday-themed questions you are more than welcome to use!

❅ How to sign your asks:

The anonymous asks will be signed with a holiday pseudo you pick in the sign up form. 

Please note: it is best to sign your messages with the same format each time so the person you have isn’t confused.

❅ PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR ASKS ANONYMOUSLY! DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE YOU HIT SEND!

Unfortunately, we had a few slip ups previous seasons and some Secret Santa’s were not-so-secret. Please take your time when sending your messages to the person you have and be sure to select “ask anonymously” before sending in your ask! 

And as a reminder, please remember to have your settings changed to allow anonymous asks so your Secret Santa can reach out! It’s not required for you to have your anons turned on until you receive your confirmation message on November 19th, but you can turn them on as early as you would like. We recommend turning them on directly after signing up so you don’t forget!

Gifts

❅ Gift Ideas:

A gift can be anything like a drabble, a matching icon and mobile header, a oneshot, a moodboard, a gifset, etc.

If you have a concern or question about whether or not your idea counts as a gift please message us and we’d be glad to help you out.

The gift you create needs to be something new for the person you are assigned, and should be related to what they like (we send all the info you need in the confirmation message to help you think of a gift idea).

❅ Disclaimer: While our event is for those 18 and older, not every participant enjoys smut content. If this is the case, we will inform you in the confirmation message so you can plan your gift accordingly.

❅ You may not use an idea or concept that you already have posted / in your drafts / etc. as a gift.

→ Example: Previously, we had a participant “dedicate” the second chapter of a series they were already writing to the person that they had.

This was extremely hurtful to the person they were supposed to be creating a gift for, seeing as it wasn’t actually a gift for them, and it was also very rude and offensive since the whole point of our Secret Santa event is to create a gift for someone else. This is known from the start. If you realize after signing up that you cannot create a gift, we would much rather have you drop out of the event instead of claiming something to be a gift when it is clearly not.

❅ You may not use the gift you create for another network’s or user’s event.

→ Example: Previously, we had a participant create one gift for our Secret Santa event and another network’s holiday event that they used for two different people.

You are creating this gift for one person; it is disrespectful to both us and the other network if you ‘share/create’ your gift for more than one person/event, as well as to the people who were expecting individual gifts. Do not be this inconsiderate and lazy. If you realize after signing up that you cannot create two gifts in the timeframe that is required for the events you signed up to participate in, you should pick one to drop out from so you can put an appropriate amount of time and energy into creating the gift. don’t forget me: let it snow.

If one of Santa’s Event Helpers find that you break either of the above rules, you will be added to our list of people who are not welcome to participate in our future Secret Santa’s.

❅ Posting your Gift & Revealing yourself:

The posting period for our Secret Santa event is December 24th - January 6th, meaning that you can post your gift and reveal yourself as early as December 24th, or as late as January 6th. Nothing earlier, nothing later.

As this is a two-week window, we will not be allowing late or postponed gifts, nor will we be granting extensions of any kind. Please plan accordingly for this event!

If one of Santa’s Event Helpers finds that your gift is late, you too will be added to our list of people who are not welcome to participate in our future Secret Santa’s.

❅ When posting your gift please use the following format (or a similar variation) to reveal yourself:

Good Morning! It is 8am on a Sunday! and I want to go back to sleep! but I have a train to catch at 9!

So, Birthdays!! I posted about it on Reddit like almost a year ago (the first thing i ever did on reddit, actually!) So I'll copy paste that and change some things because i think I have changed some things since.

So I started this because of my fic series One More New Direction and i went a bit inane due to, like, timelines. so i wanted to give everyone birthdays if they didn't already have them. (and obviously have a note of them all just in case they could be used in the plot)

Here is a screenshot from my timeline google sheets of all of the birthdays (ignore the OCs and the colour coding, it's just me trying to keep track of who is new and who is graduated, this is also why Roderick isn't in this, becasue in my fic he hasn't transfered yet (this is the year between S5a & 6) and Jane hasn't started highschool so that's why she's not on it) and I'll explain them (mostly S2 NDs) under the cut (my reddit comment amended, basically) 💛

I know I missed Blaine but... he's not in my fic as a ND member at all so i didn't give him a birthday just yet because i haven't needed to.

Puck: Aug 17th 1993 I choose Mark's actual birthday because Glee did that with Kurt so why not the other characters. - I see Puck as being the second oldest after Kurt, just based on vibes, so Mark's birthday fit here.

Rachel: Dec 18th 1994 This is her canon birthday. this means she turns 16 in S2 which makes her the youngest of her year group. I've headcanoned that she skipped a grade, or maybe her dad's started her in school a year earlier than everyone else because, well, it's Rachel.

Santana: Jan 12th 1994 Basically I used Naya's birthday. I know this messes up Finn's 'canon' birthday but bare with me.

Finn: Jan 15th 1994 I didn't use Finn's canon birthday because in S4 Sue says he's 19, like a lot, and I also couldn't find it anywhere but the Fandom Wiki. So his canon birthday doesn't work. Finn dies at 19 and if his birthday was the canon one of Aug 24th 1994 he wouldn't have been 19 when he died but 18. So I changed it and used Naya's birthday and what was said during S1's madona episode that Finn was 3 days younger to come up with Jan 15th.

Quinn: Feb 1st 1994 Basically I just looked up her birthday and there was a random thread on Fandom Wiki that stated this was her birthday so I rolled with it because it works with the timeline.

Britt: March 14th 1994 It's what it says on Fandom Wiki, but I don't remember it ever being said in canon. However it's also Pi day (3.14) so that's fun for the 'math genius'

Tina: Mar 28th 1995 A year younger than the others as she graduates S4 not S3. I was going to go with Jenna's birthday just because but apparently her and Harry (Mike) share the same birthday! So I had Mike have April 28th and moved Tina's up a month

Mike: Apr 28th 1994 See above I guess. It's Harry's birthday so I rolled with it. graduates S3

Sam: May 6th 1995 A year younger because he graduates S4. It's said in the prom episode that his birthday was a week before so I looked up when American's have prom (I'm english) and yeah. this was what I decided??? I can't remember why exactly I chose that date but I'm sticking with it because I can't change it in my fic now without messing stuff up. I maybe would change it to a week earlier so at the end of April.

Kurt: May 27th 1993 This is canon and makes Kurt the oldest in the club which is fun since Chris is the youngest of the main cast and it's also Chris's Birthday take away 3 years. My headcanon is that his mum and dad kept him back a year before starting school because he was so small or something OR that he missed too much school when his mom died and had to retake a year. I'm leaning towards the latter because that's a sadder backstory.

Artie: Jun 14th 1995 A year younger than everyone. again, I used the actor's birthday because I'm lazy and it fit.

Mercedes: Jul 10th 1994 I just see Mercedes having a summer birthday for some reason. IDK? literally just picked my mom's birthday.

And that's it for the main cast.

Here's the S3&4 newbies too, but it's mostly either random or the actor's birthday.

Unique: Aug 20th 1995 so she's in the year below Sam/Tina/Artie in my headcanon which is why she's not still at McKinley or highschool in S6. Alex's Newell's birthday.

Ryder: Sep 14th 1996 A year younger than Unique. A Sophomore in S4 (I think that may be said somewhere? or at least implied?) He could be a Freshman too, so 1997 or stick with '96 and have him kept back a year because of his dyslexia, but I decided against that in my story. Just a random date I picked because I didn't have anyone else in September.

Marley: Oct 4th 1996 Also a Sophomore in S4. (again I think that's said?) Melissa's birthday

Jake: Oct 17th 1997 Freshman in S4. Honestly, it's simply because Puck doesn't know him and if he was a Freshman in S3 than Puck would have maybe interacted with him? or at least known there was another Puckerman in the school and I don't think it's said anywhere that he's transfered or anything. so hence, a freshman... Jacob Artist's birthday.

Joe: Nov 12th 1994 completely random. In my head canon he's in the same year as Sam/Tina/Artie

Sugar: Feb 14th 1996 A year younger than Sam/Tina/Artie. I also just like the idea of her birthday being on Valentine's day, it kinda makes the whole Sugar Shack thing kinda sad in a 'noone would come if it was just for my birthday but! Valentines!!' way

Kitty: Feb 22 1997 Young enough to come back in S6 as a Senior (don't get me started on the confusion of that timeline) Random date.

I also headcanon the McCarthy twins as around late-1998/1999 (I picked 23rd May because Twins and Gemini! Only one based on astrology!) and in their sophomore year in S6. Same with Spencer

Rodderick ~ 1997 ish. I believe it's stated that he's a senior in S6? Same with Alistair??

Jane's a Freshman in S6 so a late-1999/2000 birthday.

and Myron is around November 2001 ish because he turns 13 in roughly November 2014... i think... again S6 timeline is insane.

Pagan Wheel of the year

.The Pagan Wheel of the year is the annual cycle of pagan festivals which many modern pagans celebrate.

 Yule 20-23rd Dec ( Winter solstice)

“The reversal of the Sun's ebbing presence in the sky symbolizes the rebirth of the solar god and presages the return of fertile seasons. From Germanic to Roman tradition, this is the most important time of celebration.[16][17]Practices vary, but sacrifice offerings, feasting, and gift giving are common elements of Midwinter festivities. Bringing sprigs and wreaths of evergreenery (such as holly, ivy, mistletoe, yew, and pine) into the home and tree decorating are also common during this time”

All New 12 Days of Christmas!

Hello,

This festive season we’ll be running our annual event with a twist so twisty that it’s practically a whole new event!

We would like to invite you to help us decorate our virtual fandom Christmas tree! With shiny, new, delicious content!

Bear with, we’ll try to explain:

Fanart = Baubles

Fanfic = Paper chains

Photosets = Lights

This will make sense in a minute, we promise.

I would like to participate as a writer:

Step 1: Message us to let us know (not on annon)

Step 2: On or around the weekend of 30th of Nov / 1st of Dec you will be randomly given one of the festive photosets we’re going to prepare, as a prompt. Only you get to see your photoset.

Step 3: Write something based on the photoset. Minimum 300 words, but aim for around 1k upwards, no max, Fili/Kili or any fictional Dean/Aidan pairing. You’ve created a paper chain for our tree.

Step 4: Don’t post it, submit it to us.

Step 5: You can do this again (or as many times as you like), but you must submit one before requesting another.

You must submit all your ficlets before 13th of December.

I would like to participate as an artist:

Step 1: Message us to let us know (not on annon) 

Step 2: You will be given a literal bauble outline as a template (just as soon as we create it).

Step 3: Within the bauble draw a little fanart. Photomanips are also allowed, but just edits or photosets won’t work for this. Must be Christmas or season-themed (no prompts, do what you like). Fili/Kili or any fictional Dean/Aidan pairing.

Step 4: Don’t post it, submit it to us. 

Step 5: You can do this again (or as many times as you like), but please submit one before starting another. 

You must submit all your fanarts before 13th of December. 

Decorating the tree:

Between 13th and 24th of December @gatheringfiki will be posting all your creations (decorations)

We’ll be aiming for 1 photoset (light), 1 ficlet (paper chain) and 1 fanart (bauble) per day, so we need at least 12 of each. If we happen to have more available (i.e. you’ve been productive), we might post a couple.

By Christmas Day our tree will be all decorated with shiny new content

Holiday Movie Challenge FAQ

Q: Can we write about a holiday that is not Christmas-related, or even not winter-related? (ex: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hannukah, Yule, Easter, Passover, many other holidays both religious and secular.)

A: Absolutely! The prompts are mostly Christmas-themed because holiday movies have a bit of a niche, but we do not! Feel free to write about any holiday you wish.

Q: What does ‘no underage’ mean?

A: No explicit scenes between two underage (18, in this case) characters. No relationship at all between an underage character and an adult. If your character(s) are underage, however, feel free to age them up!

Q: I would like to write Rollins/Rumlow (or other Hydra characters) but you say no Nazis… can I write their ship as long as they’re not Nazis in it?

A: Short answer, yes. Slightly longer is that as long as there’s no Hydra Trash Party themes, and they’re not Nazis or Hydra in the fic, and as long as it is in keeping with the holiday movie and Happily Ever After themes, then yeah we’re okay with that!

Q: Does this event include Marvel _____?

A: Yup! All Marvel! X-Men, MCU, Ultimates, 616, 3490, Deadpool, any Spider-Man movies, Marvel TV of all sorts, uh…. you name it and it’s Marvel, have at it!

Q: How will the mods know which badges to award? Are you guys reading all of them?!

A: Well, our Pepper (@betheflame) plans on doing just that, but we have a back-up plan just in case we find her “off” button. There will be a Google Form made available to you once the collection opens - you’ll tell us what badges your work qualifies for.

Q: Can I write more than one prompt?

A: You can create as many works as you want! We discourage combining prompts, but use the badges to get as creative as you want with each and every prompt. Remember the minimums exist for each category.

Q: I really love a movie on Netflix/Lifetime/Hulu/Amazon/A Hallmark One Not Listed. Can I write that instead?

A: No. Not for this challenge for this year. We’ll open it up a bit more broadly next year - but this year? The 15 prompts are the prompts that qualify you for the challenge.

Take the prompts, use the badges, get as creative as you possibly can and we can’t wait to see the fruits of your labor. But please stick with the prompts provided.

(Also, as one of our mods said, all we’re passing out is badges and an Ao3 collection, so please don’t let us stifle your creativity. If your muse is demanding you take a Netflix movie and re-write it with Clint and Phil - have at it!)

Q: Can I write OT3 or more?

A: Yes! Please, the mod team especially loves poly!

Q: Can I write Reader Insert?

A: Totally! Just make sure at least one of the main characters in the pair/poly is a Marvel character and you’re golden! We have a mod who loves Reader fic.

Q: Do I have to use a prompt? Can it just be Happily Ever After-inspired?

A: Yep, I’m afraid so. We decided on a set prompt list to challenge the community, and to see how different the fics will end up written by different authors, written for different ships, with different badges for different fic elements drawing them even further apart in similarity. But that doesn’t mean you can’t interpret the prompt however you wish, and/or make it a small element of the bigger plot. These are our mischievous Marvel characters, after all!

Q: Should we wait until November 1st to start posting?

A: Yep! We’d like to hold back the content until the posting period (Nov 1 to Dec 24) so that no one feels like they’re behind.

Q: What are the ‘Mod Requests’ badges?

A: The mod requests are basically the “mod’s choice” badges. Each mod picked an item they really wanted to see in fics, and we’re giving out badges for people doing those things! Basically, they’re more tropes that can earn badges (and a way to give a little love to our hard-working mods).

Q: Can I write more than one fic/use more than one prompt?

A: You can write more than one fic, but we ask you to keep it one prompt per fic, no mixing and merging.

Q: Can I write this as a chaptered fic or fic in a series?

A: It can be multiple chapters or a series (though one work, multiple chapters is best for the Happily Ever After resolution) just as long as a complete story with a HEA is posted before December 24th. There can be sequels after that time, as long as we get a complete story before the due date. :)
