Holiday Inn / Marjorie Reynolds as Linda Mason

Another Edith Head design. I always knew this dress just had to be gold! The colorized version of this film is honestly not bad, and they took the trouble to research the actual color of the dress. As you can see in the bottom photo, they faithfully reproduced the color. It also has a slit down the back for easy movement. The silver strip creates an interesting effect like a yoked collar, and it also offsets the deepness of the V-neck so that it is less noticeable.

I'm sure Fred Astaire was glad that, unlike the most famous beaded dress on one of his dancing partners, this one didn't have wide sleeves to smack him in the face!

It's also too bad Marjorie Reynolds didn't have more of a film career, because I do find her enjoyable in this.

A childhood classic, from the Christmas Special to the 2015 Blue Sky Studio movie, you can't go wrong with Peanuts!

Lemme explain why he looks so vicious. This is based on a cartoon short where at one point, and even the original strip to a degree, he got fed up with the infamous Kite-Eating Tree, and decided to bite its trunk as revenge.

His face was his response after he committed the deed. "Didn't think I'd do it, did ya!"

January: Red Redux

Cher wears a couple of red minidresses during the movie, but this one is the Alaïa! The other one is fine (see below), but a quick comparison shows how small details can make a difference even on a dress with so little to it. The different shoulder straps and neckline give this one a much more sophisticated look.

Cher wears this dress to a Christmas party. Mona May, the costume designer, made the jacket.

October 27th Challenge - "Horror Movie"

This is a freestyle challenge as long as the outfit has something to do with the prompt.

I think this could be a pretty cool fantasy/magic/adventure movie about me and overall a better trilogy franchise than one with a similar name.

God, I hope I manage to get people reading this fic even a HUNDREDTH as invested in this character and the family I completely invented out of whole cloth for him who have been living rent-free in my head for like two years now and steadfastly refused to make a story work until now, because I needed to get a good bit out of my head before I went to sleep, made myself cry because I cry ABSURDLY easily, and now it’s like four hours later and I need to actually get to FUCKING BED ALREADY but words keep coming, my fic is too sad, and I use a CPAP that already finds my face shape tricky and don’t want to combine that with my messy crying.

I’m just saying, it’s not fair I inflict this on myself while WRITING it. Rereading it later, sure, I’m fine with that, but writing it? What am I doing, using these characters as an outlet for emotional catharsis? Gross. Inefficient. I can’t keep writing when I need to routinely stop and wipe my eyes.
