My mother has just informed me that she recently had to explain to her bookclub what fanfiction is because they'd never heard of it, which she was able to do only because she knows I write it. Then she told me some of the questions posed in book club where basically "What do you think happened to X character after the book ended?" Which essentially led into them informally brainstorming fix it fics. Which is in fact what my mom called it. I'm so happy for them, lol.

I also recently nervously explained what fanfiction is to my father in law, a notoriously crotchedy critical conservative, and fully expected to be scoffed at. (This is the kind of man who goes on angry rant about anime being trash when he sees you wearing a Zelda tshirt because the only example of anime he's ever seen was Speedracer in the 60s and never updated his perspective). He seemed pleasantly intrigued by the idea of fanfic, which blew my mind. My husband suspects its because he's been in a band since he was a teenager and so fanfic is just the writing version of covering another band's song, so it wasn't that weird to him.

Still, these experiences have been incredibly weird for me. Pleasant, but weird.

Today while watching the second half of the Entertainment District Arc at the theater (for context: in Japanese with no subtitles, but I'm relatively fluent in it as a second language), I had a bit of a startling moment as Tengen recalls his ninja past.

"Huh?" I thought, "Did I miss something? Was it that seven of the Uzui siblings simply died of the harsh training that their father put them through?"

Like, the importance seemed to be placed on the fact that the lifestyle and cruel mindset was what killed them, and that Tengen did not want to live like his father and surviving younger brother. Emphasis was not placed on Tengen having killed any of them himself.

"Was this one of the edits made for the film version?" I pondered. "No, I think this scene was always like this. Why did I remember his back story differently though? Did I miss a more archaic word for them having been put up against each other to kill each other?"

But as I kept watching, it kept bothering me.

Like, "But that all really only made it sound like they happened to die due to harsh training. That's really different from being put against each other to cull each other. Did the manga say more in that scene? I need to check when I get home, because that is a big difference... Maybe Tengen will mention something about it in the grave scene. After all, at least a couple of them are dead because of him. Right...?"

But there was nothing to imply guilt in the grave scene. Just that he regrets they are dead at all and that he needs to live it up for their sake. I had always assumed this scene was set after the Fanbook #2 detail of how he used to say he was going to hell until his wives got mad at him for it. But he said that because of the guilt of killing his siblings, right?

Or... was it just general guilt over going along with the shinobi lifestyle and killing people???

But... but he did unwittingly kill a couple of his siblings without knowing who they were because their faces were covered and he was just following his father's orders, right? After all, I... I mentioned that in a fanfic. I mentioned that in timelines. I mentioned that in meta. I mentioned that in so much meta.

I grew more and more bothered as I kept watching the movie, wondering if, all this time, I had attained some false memory. I've been wrong before; I am but one nerd on the internet. It's not a big deal to be wrong. But, but if I wanted to avoid leaving false info out there, I would have to fix so much. I would have to completely reevaluate the way I have interpreted Tengen's character for years.

Where did I even get such a far-fetched idea with no basis in that flashback? Because Japanese is so contextual, did I completely misattribute Tengen's father's fault onto Tengen himself? But where did I assume those details about him not knowing they were his siblings until after he killed them? Was it fanon? Was it a mistranslation somewhere (I've come across a few widespread ones, after all)? How did I fool myself into this? How will I go back and amend all those posts???

So anyway. I got home and checked the original flashback text (in Japanese). Pretty much the same as the anime. Gulp.

Checked Fanbook #1. Basically a recap of how he did not want to live like his father and remaining brother. An extra tidbit about being given three wives when he turned 15, as was their culture. Nothing to justify my vivid memories.

But finally--in content that wasn't published until months after the manga ended--Fanbook #2 had it!!! Every detail as I felt I had already accepted as canon long ago, and then some--three Uzui siblings died beforehand, and the remaining six were put against each other, Tengen killed two without knowing who they were, his remaining brother killed another two without caring.

So why am I telling you all this?

So that you can appreciate the relief I felt as I said,

"I'm so glad Tengen killed his siblings!"

Been reading this x reader fanfic of Epic: the musical and animal crossing called 'Epic: The Fair Maiden' in @kquil's side blog kqutie and I've been loving the premise so much so I've decided to make a new OC based off of the fanfic she has made. And I'm honestly I'm so glad to find another fix it fanfic caus elile as much as I love the musical, it has given me too much angsts like damnit my boy Polites died when he has just finished singing a happy song and my guy Eurylochus wasn't able to get back home to his wife! Like come on! The guy also been loyal for so long like his bro Ody! Get him back to his wifey!

And disclaimer no the what I drew here isn't how reader is said to look like in the fic but it's just my Interpretation since reader is based off of reader themselves.

I named my OC Theo cause the name means miracle and also cause even tho the reader is called fair maiden by everyone in the fic (can I just say that I love how the reader is being referred to by an actual title instead of like y/n or like an "insert name here" cause like I love this part so much cause it makes the story so much more immersive somehow in head, I don't know maybe I just love how the reader is referred to something else after reading so many fanfics that makes you need to insert a name when you read a part of the name) I don't know why but I thought it would be so funny that her real name would rhyme with Calypso since in the story she's basically like the anti-Calypso cause unlike Calypso who wants to keep Odysseus so that he'll be with her forever the second the fair maiden meets the whole crew she does everything she can to get all these grown ass man to finally have some peace while she helps them be tip top shape to get back home and is Odysseus' and by extension Eurylochus' supporter in getting these two loving husbands to get back to their beloved wives (⁠●⁠♡⁠∀⁠♡⁠)

For the look I gave her I don't know why but I thought of strawberries when I made her and I thought it'll be so cute cause like she's so sweet in the fic and also she can't talk which added a unintentionally reference to Ariel and basically because she's a disney princess here, so with that I gave her bright red hair with strawberry flowers covering it and I also made her have these cone swirl hairstyles? (What do you call this hairstyles in anime) As abit of a reference to how Eurylochus says that no outfit (which I'm extending to hair here) will stop her from doing any labor work. And I gave her green eyes as like the green leaf on strawberries. And I sorta wanted her to be short and have a plump body type cause like she's being referred shorter then Eurylochus and also being referred to be like a chipmunk when she ran a grabbed every single gold from the money tree in the fic. And I thought the plump body shape would fit since I think if I remember correctly in ancient Greece a woman being more plump is considered beautiful and with how the story literally gave her the title fair maiden I think it fits well! And then I just gave her the dresses that's being described in the fic and done! Honestly the hardest fore to draw is the whale shark, seriously coloring that thing's spots are hard!

well if you don’t have anything against the author of “what he grows to be” because of the incestuous nature of this specific fic, i think “and the living will envy the dead” might work better since it’s a time travel fix it and they’re both the same age. the writing really is great and harry isn’t a wet rag without an ounce of personality or intelligence — which i hate with a burning passion. i actually find their version of both harry and tom to be pretty true to their canonical versions.

also, speaking of fanfiction and recommendations, do you have a list of tomarry fanfics you really like? specifically with a good characterization of harry? i really enjoy your writing, so i think anything you’d recommend would be up my alley as well.

Oh fuck YEAAAAAAH baby thanks for the rec! I'm tolerant of shivering foal Harry but only if it has narration establishing why his character is so different, so I can take "AU where Harry is different" as a facet of the pitch. Generally they don't inspire much passion but I still flip through them so I can look at blorbo some more

I only have two Tomarry fics I actually got into:

Lover's Spit, where Tom is a slur-regurgitating autistic edgelord who was accidentally groomed into being a goreposting stalker at 10 years old, which I love for personal reasons. I think it remasters the concept of forgiveness by rooting it in this really recognizable and horrific empathy-barren environment Tom was basically forged in. The shock content and proximity to known quantities of depravity make it extremely dark for a modern reader. But some of the best prose I've ever read in fanfiction period and funny as fuck

Consumption which is a pseudo-hanahaki I finished this morning and seamlessly merges the lightning generation and its story beats into the Grindelwald time period, with a non-linear dance between their childhood friends dynamic (which is incredible) and Harry trying to unravel what's going on with Tom in the now. I gasped multiple times

I'm generally more hesitant about ongoing fics. If one of these end up in a weird place feel free to blow my brains out:

Hole in the Wall is a prison sex smutfic, and one of the kinks is that Harry is turned into a braindead wet rag specifically because he's being kept stable from nonstop dementor attacks by being put into 24/7 subspace, which is really putting elbow grease into applying the setting. Warning for rape between the couple; it's shocking but warned for appropriately.

Strings of Fate is same age time travel. Has the singular most deranged flanderized Tom Riddle ever and I am absolutely eating up. I was just skimming until Tom decides on what's going on and what's WRONG WITH HIMMMMM WHAT THE FUCK IS HIS PROBLEMMMM

VII is a whump/recovery story and one of those trope button-pushers so not stringently IC or even that serious but ohhhh gooddddd my buttons they're being pushed my buttons my buttons

The Pleasure, The Privilege is a haunting horror story. Literally just "what if Voldemort gets dosed with amortentia and is exactly as evil". Very very Hannibalcore (gore included).

Leaving out fics I'm in the middle of reading or have in my backlog or haven't hit the premise so I don't know if it'll stick.

Cue the young boy’s confused, horrified expression.

“Oh, don't worry, he’s been a decent guardian. Way better than if I’d kept you. I wouldn’t have paid for you at all. Would’ve sold you for even less. But hey, be grateful! Fate did you a kindness.”

Legend is living the dream that everyone had shared at some point to terrorize his past self.

As they trek through the wilds,Legend gives his younger self the kind of guidance you'd expect from someone who didn’t take parenting classes but aced "being a jerk" 101 , so basically just Legend as a person. “Alright, you little whiner, stop crying. People are going to think you’re weak. I mean, you already are, but it’d be nice to pretend. You have to learn to just… deal with it.”

Baby self, who’s just learned to talk: “I hate you.”

Legend, without missing a beat, grins darkly: “Yeah, I figured. That’s what makes you so special. You’re already a natural.”

Legend gives many advice ,that he thought he was teaching important lessons with.

Because he is a good mother.

He ruined his child self's life before the little guy even got beaten up by a guard.

Seeing his baby self—this pathetic, sad, scared little creature—is like looking at a version of himself that he desperately wants to erase from his memory. The fact that the baby version is so utterly harmless, so completely incapable of being a threat, makes Legend reach levels of contempt for the world never encountered before What world worth saving would ever consider this—this tiny, weak, helpless thing—a target for execution. His own actions, his whole history, his entire existence as a hero... they pale in comparison to how much he despises the weakness of his own past.

When he eventually encountered one he had to watch the gruesome scene of Legend incinerating one , it was fucking personal , the sheer amount of blood was making him feel… not good to say the least.

He did not want the other to follow him but he was very much baby and pretty sure that he would rather stand behind the one who was brutally beating up people then in front of him.

Legend really tries to be nice … but he is Legend and saltier than the namesake salt itself.

“Oh, you’re hungry? Yeah, well, get used to it. You’ll figure out how to go without food soon enough. It builds character. Or you could cry about it like you always do. See how far that gets you.” He offers a piece of dry bread, throwing it on the ground in front of him, just out of reach.

He is too salty for child rearing, no wonder his baby self is continuously crying behind him , and very much wincing internally when Link flinches from him.

The dark world section was even worse.

Another annoying analysis post by me about fandom. Again. No hate to any individuals. And if you don’t like what I say, the block button is free. I just get in my head so much, and need to express it somehow or it bothers me. I want to be transparent and not sugar coat things for people. Especially Western fandom. 

Fandom turning stoic or emotionally unavailable male characters into soft, blushing boyfriends. They go from calculating and composed in canon to flustered, clingy, and emotionally dependent in fan spaces. People take emotionally complex, emotionally reserved, and canonically not the type to blush when you hold their hand or call you “baby” twenty times a day. And yet, that’s exactly the version of them that dominates fanfic, headcanons, and the most popular posts.

It’s not that I don’t understand the appeal in some way. I even indulge in it from time to time. Fantasy exists for a reason, and I’m not here to tell anyone they can’t enjoy an AU or make their own headcanons. I do it often. But there’s a difference between having a headcanon and insisting it’s somehow canon and then turning around and getting defensive when they push it as canon and people are like “Wait a minute 🧐.”

A lot of people hide behind “it’s just a headcanon” until someone disagrees. Then suddenly it’s “you’re being mean,” or “you just don’t understand him at all.” Which makes me wonder if people even actually just enjoy it as a headcanon or truly believe that is the character. 

I am not trying to say these things shouldn’t exist. Everyone is allowed to engage in fandom in any way they wish. But lately it has started to feel like not fantasy or headcanons or any of that, but erasure of a character. It wasn’t about writing an out-of-character moment for fun. It was a complete reframing of who these characters were, and it made me wonder why are so many people uncomfortable with male characters who aren’t traditionally soft?

I think it’s because a lot of people use fandom as a way to rewrite the world. For some, being seen and loved by someone cold and untouchable is the ultimate validation for them; “he’s closed off to everyone but me.” People are obsessed with that. Men and women alike. And so they end up turning characters into simps, lovesick idiots, or emotionally fluent and desperate to cuddle even when it’s super out of character. 

What really confuses too, is we have soft boys in canon. Take Yuji and Yuta for example. Boys who would text you good morning, probably get flustered, want to hold your hand in public. But they don’t get the same romantic obsession like literally at all. Instead there’s a challenge in getting the stoic, aloof or closed off one. Maybe it’s about power, a lot of people in fandom spaces either lack power in their real life and want to take it back somehow. And that causes people to rewrite the character entirely.

I kind of start to hate that fandom culture and media in general can often make it seem like love has to look a certain way to feel valid. Unless he’s doting, constantly affectionate, clingy, or possessive than well, it doesn’t count. That view erases entire love languages, especially the quieter ones. It basically says there is only one way to love. Take a character like Megumi for example, he probably would never say it out loud but his actions would show he cared. That kind of love isn’t loud or super affectionate in traditional ways, but it’s not any less valid.

That perpetuates this idea that characters like this need to be fixed to be lovable. It’s not that they’re broken, it’s just how they are. Some people don’t wear their feelings on their sleeves, and that should be seen as okay. Like, they will show their love quietly, subtly. Which, honestly is a lot better than fake affection and overt displays for some people.

And before anyone says, “People interpret characters differently, especially ones with no canon romance”…yeah, sure. But let’s not act like that line gives people free rein to throw a character’s entire personality out the window. It’s actually not that hard to figure out how someone would behave in a relationship based on who they are. We do that all the time in real life. You watch how someone carries themselves, how they react under pressure, how they treat people and you get a pretty good picture of how they’d be as partners. You can interpret, but let’s not pretend it’s all equally valid when you’re completely ignoring the character’s core traits. Sometimes fandom uses interpretation as a shield to validate their fanon, when what they’re really doing is just writing a totally different guy with the same face. And if that’s what you want to do, whatever that’s cool, again I have absolutely no problem with that. But own it. Don’t rewrite a character and then get mad when someone says that’s not him.

@strangenewwords is a fairly new and dearly beloved addition to our group at @scoganbingo events, but she's already made a huge impact with her delicious smut and angst stories that hit you right in the feels. Technically also brillant, the linked story is definitely one you don't want to get spoilered for beforehand because the ending will leave you in absolute awe and tears. The author doesn't shy away from including the darkest sides of Scott's past but handles every subject with the necessary care and respect, and as I said ... You don't want to miss out on all that delicious smut!

The Day Before the Soldiers Came by Cerylid

Cery is offering a much-needed fixit for the team dynamics between the X-Men and Logan before X2 with this story. It comes with a lot of humor but also far more feels than you expect. The texting is hilarious but it's the quiet tones that get to you.

is basically my go-to X3 fix-it. You look for something to make that movie right, you got it all right there. Along with a bit of horror (we are talking about resurrection, after all) comes a dramatic rescue mission in a mental limbo, and you get an Avenger and Emma Frost guest-starring. There's a couple of follow up chapters that explore both scogan and Tony/Emma a bit further, and we even get a Laura version in old movieverse along the line, and of course all the nasty nasty smut you guys are here for.

Don't you think the way TG actors service their fans is a little off, to say the least? Of course there is essentially nothing wrong with wanting to stay relevant and give their fans some "crumbs", but Olivia reposting stuff about Rhaenicent's dungeon sex, Gayle reposting comments like "If they follow the books, she'll be going down on Aemond" with the 👄 emoji, Ewan saying he likes helaemond and taking pride in asking for having a full frontal nude scene and Tom insisting on Aegon never raping Helaena while drunk (contrary to what we learn from the show) are too much if you ask me. I find it quite disturbing and ironic that Olivia, who, according to her stans , is forced to portray an extremely sexualised charcter, actual doesn't have anything against sexualising Alicent even more, let alone in fact sexualising her co-star. Gayle apparently ignores the character she plays is gonna be a victim of rape and seems eager to service Alys fans who want to reduce Alys to a sexy milf. She also talks stuff about sexual tension between Alys and Daemon (I fail to notice it, although their friendship is quite obvious). And Ewan, parading himself in mesh shirts and saying weird things about a broken boy Aemond who's gonna be fixed is simply annoying. Plus, I'll call helaemond either just a fanon ship (if I want to be nice) or straight up bullshit. White washing Aegon's rape-y ass is just unsavoury and his rabid fanwives are ridiculous

bad svsss fanfic/au idea: random marriage/guidance counselor transmigrates into PIDW, sees the absolute mess of lord luo bingge and his harem, goes "jesus fucking christ", and makes bank.

and like. they're probably not even that good of a counselor. it's just that people lack any sense when it comes to bingge, and since he's the emperor, that means pretty much everyone. also because therapy doesn't exist. i'll give them some credit though, whatever they hell they're doing works.

now, while sqq and sqh are having a grand ol' time in SVSSS with their husbands, this random, average counselor has to deal with being in the care of lord luo bingge. no wife beam. no anything. all they have is some basic empathy and common sense people just tend to lack in here for some reason.

it's even worse considering the fact that they've arrived after luo bingge completed his plan and became the hailed demon emperor. now, while they've never full on read the entire thing, they've heard enough from a close friend who has kept up with it to know the main character is the literal embodiment of the cycle of abuse and heavy unresolved issues. like, it got to the point where they started to unironically use luo bingge as an example of how to not deal with conflicts and trauma.

really, how could people like bingge? seriously, it's just another edge lord main character with way too many glamorized issues and abuse. red flag! (hey, who the hell is peerless cucumber and why does he keep defending binghe? lord, have mercy on these impressionable young men...)

so, after being kidnapped taken in by bingge and his wives after the bunch claimed that they were a "wise man" or whatever (all they did was offer some basic relationship advice to some poor woman, who turned out to be ning yingying, who told the other wives, and it just spiraled from there), they were deemed "special" and given their personal office and a room! hey, better than being on the streets in this god forsaken hentai-ish world, i guess.

quickly, a routine was established. one that, especially, consisted of luo bingge outright ignoring them. which, they weren't complaining about!

wake up, eat, meet with multiple of the wives, spend their hard earned money on delicious delicacies, meet with more wives, sleep, repeat. the most interaction they had with the demon emperor was him ordering them around, but even then, that was uncommon. it was, surprisingly, easy to fall into the rhythm of this undoubtedly odd life. you're upset that lord luo hasn't spent much time with you? maybe you can ask! the other wives are being annoying? remove yourself from the situation. you're upset that lord luo has so many other wives? oohhh... yeah. uhm.

luo binghe only tolerated them, they knew that. and they're sure that, if not for multiple of his wives insisting on keeping them, they'd be dead for even daring to be so "intimate" with them. a little bit of a shock, if they do say so themself. like, insecure much (something that they'll probably never get used to is the fact that bingge built an entire little village for his wives, though)?

but that's not the most shocking thing, oh, no.

it's this.

haven't actually watched white collar lol but basically a dc character usually dick is undercover as neal caffrey a criminal informant to the FBI and shenanigans ensue or angst thats cool too

Identity Reveal (a classic)

identity reveals along with their adjacent tropes such as identity porn or identity fail is always entertaining to me. theres alot of drama and intrigue with a secret identity being revealed and its interesting to see how others react especially with many members of the batfamily having public personas. this usually occurs with other dc superheros though and very rarely with civillians or the public at large which i find unfortunate because i find the idea intriguing with all the fallout a public reveal would entail

i like how this trope has bruce/others juggle yet another secret identity. i especially like when the rest of batfam have an identity corresponding the the Matches Malone identity. I think its interesting to see how they act as criminals. also worth a mention is the mafia/crime empire au which is related

time shenanigans are always fun, but also time travel fix its are chef's kiss

Dimensional Hopping

could be very interesting comparing different characterizations of characters. the reactions of characters when facing their counterparts or another version of someone they know intrigue me

i just enjoy the batfam being BAMFs and being creepy.

i think i enjoy these because and isolated batfamily is usually a tighter knit one and thats always cool. seeing how they develop as a family and vigilantes without the intervention of the community as a whole is cool

I like soulmates as a trope in general in romance but batfam for me is all about the found family dynamics and platonic soulmates hit that mark. i love a fic where bruce has like 10 different soulmates when he expects to be a loner

Omega Bruce (Gen Fic A/B/O)

as i just said batfamily for me is all about the found family dynamics and this trope is all about that. omega bruce just highlights the protectiveness and motherly instincts I enjoy seeing with his kids but most general rated omegaverse fics are interesting to me. I also like omegaverse a plot device and the social commentary that can come from it

I think its interesting to see him written that way when his public persona is so wildly different. I also like to see it because I could kinda get to see how asexuals experience things through the lens of a character I enjoy

with tim this usually involves his parents being wildly neglectful (as opposed to absent in canon) to downright abusive and then Bruce gets custody yay :D. ive also read ones where both tim and jason come early and those are pretty nice. I think what's appealing is that tim and jason don't interact until after everything goes to shit so its nice that young tim can interact with young jason and dick and bruce. its also nice that they could save a little heart ache by coming to bruce earlier rather than later.

Outsider POV

could be unreliable narrator which is nice, but also seeing what others not in the know think of batfam's actions could be interesting. having a normal random person interact with the crazy that comes with being a vigilante is cool

Jason and his Goons

not sure if its actually considered a trope and kinda falls under outsider pov. i just think its neat

Batman and Rogues Friendship?

ive read a couple fics involving bruce & harley or bruce & harvey (would bruce & selina count? lol) and I just think exploring the relationship between bruce and his enemies is interesting. it really speaks to his character, or atleast what i think which is second chances, seeing the good and hope in the damndest of cities and its people. its one of his core philosophies and a part of what makes him batman.

I think bruce should always be at least trying to be a good parent, and possibly failing because angst, but him just being bad just makes me sad :C. its good when done correctly and him failing despite how hard he tries but I came here for the good family feels not ASB&R

CPS involved

kinda funny with my previous one, but I like it because it tests how bruce cares for his children. its a plot device for drama but also its a very real thing that he should deal with because we want the best for the bat children. I think its also an excuse for them to be outraged on behalf of him. I think of a comic panel i saw of bruce crying while talking about jason when talking to a social worker.

Bruce Wayne Kills the Joker (DCU)

i know that not killing is his whole thing, which i agree should be a thing and is valid, but i also like the thought of him killing for his kids, sacrificing him morals, or even him mental well being for them, especially Jason because that is kind of their whole dichotomy and wouldn't that be great, for bruce to do the one thing that jason asks and them being happy again? Technicially if memory serves right bruce does kill the joker in Death in the Family but then it might of gotten retconned? maybe he stopped himself inbetween the comics, or somehow joker survived the murder attempt, but either way the intent was there. anyways I like the moral dilemma and potential fallout it may entail.

I did Fanfiction Reading Log to Google Sheets with really cool and neatly looking statistics and I thought it would be nice to share to everybody.

The list of updates and links to the update info post are in the end of this post.

Please mind that I'm still in the middle of testing it and I've found one bug I don't know how to fix it and I'm going to update as I find some mistakes, so you might be better to save also the link to the original file (it can be also found from Instructions sheet). I'm not professional with Excel/Google Sheets so all the feedback will be taken with huge thanks and I will do my best to fix every problem you might have, but just a warning: I have full time job, full time school and everything else going on in my life (for example huge fanfic I'm writing), so it might not be fast.

This is mostly for AO3 fanfics, but of course you can put there anything you want! I did this, because I have all the time time over 200 tabs open in my phone's browser and I'm still always trying to find something new to read, because "I don't have anything on my TBR". So yeah, here you go & if you have any ideas you would want to add there, you can also let me know that so I can think of it! :)

I think I'm going to start on this field of fanfics or Hc's because I have A LOT OF IDEAS ABOUT TICCI TOBY (and creepypasta in general) THAT I HAVE KEPT INSIDE OF MY ROTTEN BRAIN FOR MORE THAN 2 THOUSAND YEARS 😭😭

FIRST OF ALL

But I don't think the proxies or the other killers would live in a GIANT MANSION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST THAT IS SOMEHOW IN PERFECT CONDITIONS AND ISN'T FALLING APART °_°

I think they would probably be living in houses near forests or in places without many people, remote areas or almost empty cities, or they would live in their cars...

And now talking about proxies they would follow a similar situation, but they would have to stay close to some dense areas with trees, abandoned huts and wooden cabins in the middle of the forest. (And they would have to work to get energy, water, food and medicine bc uncle slendy doesn't care if his servants are dying of hunger 😍 a very exemplary manager)

Is it still valid to think that Masky and Hoodie are proxies? 😭😭😭 (pls don't bully me 😭😭😭)

The proxies probably wouldn't even come close to the other killers and creatures, that's probably bc Slenderman (or Operator, whatever you call him), He sees other creatures and serial killers as inferior beings and despises and repudiates them.

I like to think that by "working as a proxy" you get some "power ups" in return. Sure, they're cool! Having new abilities are cool, like throwing Toby from the window of an abandoned building that's in the middle of a forest of the thirteenth floor as if he were a wet cardboard box, that's cool! But a proxy's salary is having an extra day of life 😰 (Literally living life as if each day were the last...)

So they would clearly have to work to buy food or medicine, and y'know, some people can't just leave the forest to go to work bc they get possessed at least every five minutes of the day everyday. I think the only people willing to work would be Tim and Brian. Probably bc Kate and Toby are too... well, y'know...

I like this family dynamic where Brian and Tim are responsible for Kate and Toby. Kate appears to be older so she basically looks like a fake version of Lyra in Toby's eyes.

And since in my hc these four live together in a wooden cabin in the middle of the woods in a winter storm, they also have different tasks to do!

Toby basically takes care of anything broken, clogged toilet? Tell Toby to fix it. Washing machine is not drying the clothes after washing? Call Toby. Shower not giving hot water? Tell Toby! A roof tile broke again? Toby! In addition, he also collects firewood, takes care of the lawn when winter passes and helps Kate with the Operator's notes. And he still has to take care of the house's generators, making sure they are still working, since the generators are stolen...

Tim works, he earns money to maintain the car they stole, to buy gasoline to fuel the car, the house's generator and the washing machine's single generator. He buys materials for Toby in case any structure in the house is broken and it is Tim who makes the shopping list.

Kate practically takes care of the house, she cleans the cabin, washes the dishes and she stands guard in the forest or just on the porch of the house. She's the one who draws Slederman's notes and takes care of other people's medications, with a schedule list even for her own medications. She can take care of small injuries and fractures, if the case is more serious, she can try to do what she can but fails and they will have only two options: Call Jack to fix them or Call Slenderman to heal them. The easiest option is Jack.

And lastly Brian. He was the one who stole the car so it's his car now, he takes Tim to work and he's the one who does the shopping food and medicine, He's the guy who wears an apron saying "Kiss the Cook" every day when he prepares breakfast and lunch, he doesn't prepare dinner, normally it's just a pizza or fast food. Brian takes care of each of their weapons, from knives to firearms, he cleans, polishes the knives, sharpens Toby's axes and buys ammunition.

They can't enter the house with weapons, so there's a box next to the door on the porch that stays open at dawn when Toby or Kate go out into the woods looking for victims. The weapons are locked in the morning and the box can be opened in the afternoon, bc Toby likes to go hiking through the forest looking for rabbits or wild boar.

In my hc, Toby is much more aggressive and sarcastic than he really is, causing Kate and Brian to have a difficult time dealing with him. Toby doesn't like being bossed around so he spends most of his time either in silence or working in his room or in the garage which is like a shitty version of a workshop.

Brian can be very good to talk to, usually being associated with a therapist by Toby and Kate, bc they had to be around doctors and therapist almost all their life. But Brian can be quite strict, more than Tim.

Tim has already tried to stop smoking, but it didn't work because in less than ten minutes Toby was already stressing him out.

Toby like Mindless Self Indulgence, when Tim and Brian go out to work, and kate is out in the woods, this mf spends almost all of his time playing their music of all their albums EVERY FUCKING DAY and at max volume in his room. 😭😭 bro has a lot of free time tf

Tim keeps saying that Toby should start wearing boots bc they're more secure, but Tobias is too stubborn and says his converse are still good. The "still good" in question:

Tim hates having to spend a whole day with Kate and Toby in the cabin, not that he hates them both but because he gets very paranoid. He constantly prefers to be outside the forest rather than inside.

Brian is totally indifferent to this as he spent weeks sleeping in an abandoned building in the middle of the forest where he only had a mattress and his pills before they even managed to adjust the cabin they are in now as a temporary hideout.

Kate is slightly afraid of cats. Maybe because of the symbolism that some types of cats represent, so she tries to avoid them, but when Toby and Brian arrived from a mission with a litter of kittens in their arms, she became apprehensive and spent almost two whole days in her room, afraid of the little felines. After a few weeks she got used to their presence but she doesn't interact with them or pet them, she just gives them food when they need it and gives them water too.

Toby for some reason likes to chase the squirrels like a maniac in the forest, he really likes squirrels but not to the point of killing them but rather chasing them until they hide from him.

Brian and Tim are both very good using a long range rifle. But Tim is much more effective at stalking the victim and analyzing them, even though Brian is also good at stalking, he prefers to keep his distance as if the victims were a deer.

Kate likes insects taxidermy, she collects butterflies, moths, spiders, fireflies, cicadas, beetles and some other small animals, she keeps them all stored in a glass frame.

Because of CIPA, Toby may have developed bulimia because he thinks eating is not a necessary need, he doesn't feel the pain of hunger, so he doesn't eat anything for days. He may have a muscular body due to the use of his hatchets but his body is quite thin. He constantly vomits from hunger on missions, fainting is frequent and at a certain period he may have developed chronic anemia.

Tim and Brian had to teach Toby how to shave, it was one of the few good moments that Toby felt a connection with another being after all.

Like every other proxy that works for slenderman that isn't a agent of the tall thing, they constantly have amnesia. Tim and Brian forget things related to their day-to-day life, Toby forgeted about his family and past but he kind of remembers his sister and moms name but only that, and Kate, well, she doesn't remember anything at all about her past, the house she used to live in, her last name but the only thing she remembers is the firts time she was deep in the forest.

And bc of this historic with amnesia, they constantly write things down in a notebook they have in each temporary shelter. Even though the faceless thing doesn't care about the organization of his minions, the minions themselves try to organize things. Each time they "move" to another shelter, the first person who sets their foot in the shelter is responsible for signing the notebook.

Kate has problems with insomnia along with Brian, Toby and Tim have problems with sleepwalking. There have been bizarre encounters between these two things.

(I love that in the sterek fandom we have these unspoken truths, like the fact that we all know that no matter what, Derek is always going to believe and care about Stiles whether he's in Mexico or on the other side of the world, if Stiles calls, he'll go to Stiles.)

This one is really good but fucking confusing or something, it really made me hate certain characters here and scream in frustration but I always trusted stiles/derek.

Derek doesn’t want to call the window repair guy. He doesn’t want to sweep up the glass. He’ll inevitably miss a few shards and pull them out of the bottom of his bare feet for weeks.

He doesn’t want to try to make this place feel like home when it isn’t.

Derek stayed in Beacon Hills and tried to make it work because he wanted pack, wanted purpose. He gave his best effort and found himself back where he started: alone, with a few begrudging allies. He’s tired, and even though his werewolf body heals quickly, he feels the weary ache down to his center.

He packs his car with the few things he cares about enough to drag them from place to place. He locks the loft and calls a realtor about listing the building he’d bought in a misguided attempt to secure a future.

And then he leaves.

(This fic will always be in my favorite fic recommendations, because I read it at a difficult time for me and it helped me a lot emotionally to move forward, so yes, this fic is one of my favorites among favorites, and I will always mention it at every opportunity. Plus we have Derek healing and that's beautiful because Derek deserves nice things just like Stiles.)

[Fun Facts About Me]

I don’t like making grammatical errors, they are irritating and embarrassing (in my opinion). However, mistakes are part of life and I have to learn to how to move on. That said; if you do see some grammar mistakes please let me no and I’ll try to fix it. (Ugh, it’s embarrassing that I was born, and live in, Mississippi yet I make numerous grammatical errors. I’m so bad, most of the time, at English, it’s hilarious.)

I have a tendency to ramble, over explain and procrastinate. I can also appear quite pushy, this is probably because of some deep seated worry that I haven’t yet uncovered.

I love mysteries, they are my favorite genre and I especially love the femme fatale mysteries or mysteries with a female lead.(IE; Miss. Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Murder She Wrote and there’s more but my mind is blank right now.)

I have a soft spot for cute fuzzy cats and I like taking photos of scenery that I believe to be beautiful.

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite books, it was a childhood favorite and it still is to this day. (The animate movie and the book are my preferred versions of Alice In Wonderland.)
