Today is the legendary Doug McKee Amore’s last day at The Bay Club San Francisco. Doug started off as a chartered member of the club during its inception in 1977. He worked next door at Levi Strauss & Co. until 1999. In 2000, he became an employee of @bayclubs as a Professional Fitness Trainer, Yoga and Pilates instructor. During his run at the club, he has impacted many lives. From teaching yoga to cancer patients, to helping any member with a general question. He is the kindest, most generous man that I have ever known and has the best energy that I’ve ever encountered. He has definitely made a positive impact on my life as a mentor and most importantly, as a friend. I recently completed a 3-day course to prepare for the launch of @bayclubs new Fit Lab at Bay Club San Francisco. The Fit Lab is designed to be the start and end point of the member’s workout. Think of it as Bay Club’s Athletic Training Room. Similar to the pro-athletic experience, where athletes go to the training room prior to practice or games to be taped and facilitate warm-ups or post-game for recovery services. Our Movement Specialists will guide members through pre-workout mobility and activation exercises to prepare their body for their group ex class, training session, squash game, general workout, etc. Movement Specialists will also be available to provide restorative/recovery services post workout such as PNF stretching, percussion and compression therapies. .. I also obtained my kinesiology tape certification and percussion therapy training. I am excited to share this new knowledge and resources with my clients.
