To go with the last drawing I did (sorta based on the post-game/finale story that is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky when the heroes find out it was Darkrai behind the whole thing between Temporal Tower's collapse and the Time Gears etc.
but the PokeTale Ascendance version of it.
I was discussing with a friend in my server, and I decided for my take that it's basically during the final fight with Darkrai, after learning he was the one responsible sorta for turning Chara (and Volo) into a Pokemon and what had happened to hers and Volo's siblings: Dialga turning Primal and losing his sanity in the future timeline/just starting to in the past/current timeline, and Palkia going into stasis along with Giratina (hence why they couldn't help Dialga when he lost his ability to control Time due to the tower starting to break, or completely breaking even, in the Future Timeline)
THAT is the moment when Chara finally transforms into a Gyarados, when Darkrai was about to do the final blow and kill/finish off Volo. Chara jumps in the way of the blast in the nick of time, and starts to transforms just seconds of taking the attack meant for Volo and she starts to prepare a Hydro Pump  and pay back the pain and sadness Darkrai had caused to so many other pokemon
------------
For anyone wondering why I decided Chara would be a Magikarp for my PMD au  is cuz magikarp is one of my most favorite pokemon(along with Gyarados) of all time, and Chara's my most favorite Undertale character (though Undyne and Sans are really high up there as well) but also cuz of the level 20 Motif with Magikarp  getting at its absolute strongest when it finally evolves, and Chara at LV20 in the Genocide route becoming 'strong' and capable of destroying a whole ass timeline p much with a single swing of her knife etc
and volo becoming togepi cuz thats his partner pokemon soo ye.
Also its volo who's Chara's partner pokemon since the PMD-verse is based on the games ver of PTA (and in that version of PTA it's volo who ends up basically being Chara's sibling sorta the same as Zero does in the anime version of my AU)
Which is kind of explained here in the description
-------------------
For PokeTale: Ascendance
An AU based off of an RP between me and a friend of mine from my discord server discord.gg/pQf9ZsdF6E where the Creation Trio as babies (a time they all cant really fully control their powers and junk) accidentally create a portal into the Undertale Universe and meet Chara and basically Arceus finds Chara and adopts her after finding out about her shitty human parents and Chara ends up helping Arceus raise the babies and basically lives in the Pokemon Universe now

Hero felt the impact of the rigid brick wall against their bones before they could even register that they had been thrown. Each of their muscles ached and throbbed, a conscious reminder of just how poorly they were faring in this fight. They were well aware of how bruised and battered they'd be the next morning, but still refused to fight back. Their suit clung to their skin uncomfortably, drenched from a mixture of sweat and rainwater. Fights were seldom clean; Hero knew that in this line of work, the squeamish got weeded out quickly, yet they couldn't recall when they had last felt so utterly distressed in the heat of battle.
Henchman was panting too, severely out of breath. They were a sharpshooter, not a fist-fighter, and a fight to this degree of intensity was far far out of their comfort zone. But, Hero was a hard one to kill, too perceptive to be taken down from a distance. Overpowering them physically, that was the key, Henchman had thought. No matter how out of practice their fists were, Hero had to die tonight. The criminal raised their hand up to their face: it was trembling. As they wiped the bloodstains from under their now crooked nose, they glared, pure disdain filling each corner of their expression.
"Why," Henchman started, voice gritty and rasped. "Why does it always lead back to you?"
Ah, so that's what this was about. Hero had suspected it, to be truthful. Henchman worshipped the ground that Villain walked on. Their mind was an altar to the malevolent, twisted beauty of the mastermind. To them, Villain was cruel, bitter, and entirely unsympathetic. An ambitious, ruthless person who would stop at nothing until everything they had ever desired was theirs. They were everything Henchman wanted to be, everything they obsessed over.
But, Hero had learnt a different story when tangled beneath the linen sheets of their bed with the Villain. Between intimate nights and days full of laughter and endless symphonies, the two developed a deeper understanding of each other that quickly blossomed into something far more passionate, like a wildfire erupting from what was previously thought to be nothing. As the pair became closer and closer, they became intrinsically intertwined with one another. Wherever Hero went, they would carry seeds of Villain with them, as though they could never be truly apart. The reverse was true, also. Hero had watched in awe as slowly the Villain's lexicon morphed, how they had started using the same common phrases their Hero did, and how they began to make the same stupid pop culture references they claimed were infantile. It was beautiful, they had thought, how much of an everlasting impact the two had made on each other.
However, Henchman was obsessive. Any changes to Villain's behaviour, to their persona, were dutifully studied. Wherever the scent of Hero lingered, Henchman was there to notice it. It shouldn't have been a big deal - Hero's agency members had picked up on the same details, and went straight to giving congratulations, and obnoxiously asking 'when's the wedding', and if they were all invited. It would take a fool to not see just how devoted the two lovers were.
If someone was to describe Henchman in one word, it would be foolish. A person too wrapped up in their own fantasies of how they pictured their malevolent saviour to see the softer side of Villain. Their villain, dating a no-good scum hero? To them, it was a blasphemous thought. There had to be another solution, there just had to be. Hero had found their way into Villain’s life, and Henchman wanted them out.
“I don’t know why it all leads back to you,” Henchman started, wiping the sweat off of their brow with their sleeve. “Whether you’re a dirty spy, or attempting to trick Villain into an alliance, I don’t care. You’ll be in your grave tonight, I promise.”
Hero grimaced slightly at those words. Every survival instinct rooted deep inside them wanted to kick and scream, wanted to flatten Henchman in a single blow. The whole city knew they could. But, Henchman worked for Villain, and Hero didn’t want to hurt someone so close to their lover, no matter how much the asshole deserved it.
There was no point trying to explain things now, Henchman was too deep in their delusions. Hero raised up their hands hesitantly, trying to move the situation away from violence.
“I’m not gonna hurt you, Henchman. I know you won’t listen to what I have to say, but I promise you won’t get what you want by killing me.”
“Oh, trust me. You have no idea what I want.”
Henchman was reaching for their gun now, pulling it out of their uniform and sliding their fingers across the handle. Usually, Henchman would be the furthest thing from threatening; a delusioned fool who thought they were much more mysterious than they actually were, but Hero was starting to see less and less solutions unfold. Their hands were almost tied.
Henchman clicked the safety off of the gun, and raised it up towards Hero. They didn’t seem to be aiming for am instant kill, pistol pointed towards their hip, no, they wanted this to be a painfully slow message to anyone who would dare antagonise Villain to the point of sabotaging Villain’s untouchable life. They could take the shot, Hero thought. It would be agonising, but they’d survive the first shot.
Hero tightly shut their eyes, bracing themselves so that they wouldn’t yelp or god forbid whimper in pain once the bullet made it’s way into their hip. The gunshot sounded, a loud, piercing sound that Hero was sure they’d never truly get used to. But no impact ever came. Instead, only the sound of Henchman letting out a short, strangled scream and collapsing onto the floor.
Tentatively, Hero opened their eyes, and a flood of relief washed over them. Leaning against the opposite brick wall was Villain, disheveled and panting furiously, as though they had rushed to put on their uniform and sprinted all the way here. They probably had. Their expression was coated with pure concern, it was the same one Hero had seen when they awoke in the district hospital after ambitiously fighting a whole group of villains at once, and had consequently taken one too many blows to the head. That night, Villain had murmured into their palm over and over ‘I should have been there to stop it’. And this time, they followed through.
“Wh—what? Villain, is that, is that you?” Henchman stuttered, bewildered at these turn of events. Their carefully crafted image of villain was crumbling, a house of cards met with a ferocious gust of wind. They tried to push themselves into a kneeling position, looking up at Villain, but the latter had shot them in the calf, making movement difficult.
They tried to protest, ask questions, beg for answers, but Villain paid them no attention. There was no fury or rage, that would come later. Instead, they made their way over to Hero, slowly lifting their gloved hand, a non verbal plea asking to feel Hero, to make sure they weren’t hurting too much. At that, Hero smilled, gleeful almost. Their lover slowly felt around for injuries, assessing the severity of Hero’s state and debating whether a licensed medic would be needed or if Villain’s first aid experience would be enough (it would always be enough, Hero would argue, for they despised a hospital setting and loved any form of intimacy with their partner that they could get).
“Aren’t you supposed to be filling out paperwork right about now?” Villain’s voice never failed to soothe Hero. They spoke lowly, in an almost raspy tone, and never rushed when they talked. This time, there was a slightly playful lilt to it, though it was mostly drowned out by the worry they held for Hero’s safety.
“Aren’t you supposed to be telling your subordinates who they should and shouldn’t be assassinating?” Came Hero’s response, to which Villain chuckled lightly.
“I try my best, but it seems there are some people who refuse to cooperate,” Villain turned to stare directly at Henchman, making eye contact. In turn, Henchman gulped fearfully. They were wrong about Villain in almost every manner, but at the very least, they were right about their formidable nature. When the mastermind’s fury was directed towards them, they knew they were screwed, to put it bluntly. “However, now is neither the time nor the place for lectures. I hope you’re well enough to walk to the car; I’m afraid there were no nearby parking spaces.”
Hero grinned, a lovesick look glazing over their eyes. It didn’t matter how other people viewed Villain, or what conspiracies and fantasies had been made about their relationship. They knew exactly how they felt about the villain, and that was what mattered to them.

Adar and Sauron Recognition in Season 2 (Halbrand/Elrond) and Saurondriel kiss
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The tent scene in 2x07 is a direct parallel with 2x01 scenes between Adar and Sauron/Halbrand in Mordor. And it’s so painfully obvious, it hurts.
Why? Because these were “the seeds” Sauron “planted” back at 2x01 in Adar’s mind (minus Galadriel getting captured), and he’s there to see the battle through and Eregion destroyed. And free Galadriel in the process, because he needs her to get to Eregion, take a hold of the rings of power (like Celebrimbor naively does, believing he’s keeping the Nine safe from Sauron, when he’s doing exactly what Sauron himself knows he would do), and bind himself to her at the finale.
Sauron is a mastermind and a control freak, and once folks understand what kind of villain he is, and just how calculating and organized his character is, it all falls into place. Sauron not being Elrond in that tent is completely OCC, because there is no way a micromanager, taskmaster, perfectionist and authoritarian villain like Sauron would ever entrust Galadriel’s life and his own plans to Elrond. “Rings of Power” has Tolkien experts to assist with the writing of the scripts, nothing of this random.
You don’t even need to read my whole megathread on the subject (Part I and Part II), this is it: the ultimate proof it was Sauron, and not Elrond, not that tent with Adar in 2x07, and he’s the one who kissed Galadriel.
In both scenes, Elrond/Halbrand meets Elrond with the same purpose: “let my people/Galadriel go”. Or "yours will die". In 2x01 this is explicit, in 2x07 it’s the subtext.
Both scenes, start with Adar sitting down in a place of power, and getting up to approach Halbrand/Elrond:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adar can’t see a pretty boy, both with Halbrand and Elrond:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Sauron is screaming internally by this mention of Melian, “that b*tch!” Full explanation here. And he gets triggered enough to start threatening warmongering:
Halbrand/Sauron (2x01): Let my people go. Or yours will die.
Tumblr media
Adar rubs the might of his war forces and Orc legions on Elrond and Halbrand’s faces, and how they can’t possible expect to defeat him:
Adar (2x01): My people defeated the Men of these lands. We defeated the Elves who came to their aid. We even defeated their allies, the Men from beyond the sea. There is no one left for us to fear.
Tumblr media
In both scenes, "Sauron" is mentioned in connection with the Elves and Eregion:
Adar: There is no one left for us to fear. Halband: There is one [...] An ancient sorcerer, to instruct the Elves in forging a new weapon. One you first told her [Galadriel] about. A power over flesh. Do you remember those words? A power that will allow him to use your children as slaves in his army once more. Set my people free, and I will tell you where he can be found. So you can destroy him, and rid us both of his evil.
Adar: Sauron is my enemy as much as yours. Give me what I need to defeat him and let us all be rid of him. Elrond: Is it not you that has done his bidding by laying siege to Eregion? Adar: Eregion has fallen into shadow. It belongs to the Deceiver now, as does every Elf within its walls.
In both scenes, Halbrand and Elrond use the Orcs lives as leverage against Adar:
Halbrand: A power that will allow him [Sauron] to use your children as slaves in his army once more. Set my people free, and I will tell you where he can be found.
Tumblr media
In 2x01, Galadriel is mentioned by Halbrand, and in 2x07, she’s actually there, and she’s the prisoner (instead of Sauron) and the “my people” Elrond is actually there to free.
Halbrand: Since Galadriel's defeat, she sought out a new ally. An ancient sorcerer, to instruct the Elves in forging a new weapon. One you first told her about. A power over flesh.
Tumblr media
“I would recognize you, anywhere.”, and this is true in both scenes (2x01 and 2x07):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we see this change in Adar’s demeanor in 2x07, from this moment on:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is the reason why Adar looks into Elrond's eyes at the end of the episode: he's checking if it's actually Elrond, and not Sauron.
Tumblr media
Death threats coming full circle between 2x01 and 2x07, with Halbrand and Elrond:
Adar: You will tell me everything you think you know of this sorcerer now. Or I will spill the words from your throat. Halbrand: If I die, all that I know dies with me. You can't kill me. Adar: In time, you will beg me to.
Adar: The Ring for Galadriel's life. What is it to be? Elrond: Ask me on the field, when the neck with a blade against it is yours.
In both scenes, Halbrand and Elrond deceive Adar (swearing fealty/the pin):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"If looks could kill": Halbrand and Elrond giving Adar's servants murderous stares, in 2x01 and 2x07:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Kiss
In Season 2, we had a pretty obvious visual clue of this kiss happening, in 2x04:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The “kiss scene” is a parallel to Galadriel and Halbrand’s dagger scene in 1x03:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And even Galadriel’s “what is happening?” reaction is similar:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This connects with the "Halbrand is Sauron" theme of Season 2.
It doesn’t matter what physical form Sauron takes in the Seen World, he’s always the same immortal spirit.
Sauron is not a “physical being” and he’s not bound to his physical form: he can choose to appear in whatever form he wants. He can also walk invisible (spiritual form) if he chooses to, for that matter.
In Season 2 finale, we saw him appearing in the physical forms of the major players in the Three rings of power plot from Season 1 finale: Galadriel and Celebrimbor. But Elrond was also there, and Sauron spent “weeks” with him at Eregion. Of course he knew he could pull this off. And he’s the “great deceiver”, after all.
Tumblr media
This is actually Sauron kissing Galadriel. And this explains why this scene is romantic-coded; the kiss was the point of the scene because that’s what the camera angle and the music tells us.
And this is why there’s no “Elrond’s theme” on the OST to this scene (only Galadriel’s), which is what usually happens when characters kiss, their themes appear joined in the soundtrack. But there’s no need for “Sauron’s theme” either, because his and “Galadriel’s theme” are similar: the Galadriel and Sauron ostinatos share a similar contour of upward moving minor scales (Bear McCreary).
I don’t care about interviews (this argument always comes up when discussing this theory), and besides the full explanation for this kiss is missing from the one place it truly matters: the “Behind the Scenes” interviews for 2x07, and this is the official place to talk about it.
And there is no reason for the show writers to give Elrond a scene to parallel and provide continuity to Sauron and Adar’s from 2x01, in Mordor; other than the “Elrond in the room” being Sauron himself.
And this can also explain why Sauron and Adar didn’t share a “final scene” in 2x08, when their connection and feud was also a huge theme in Season 2: they already had it in 2x07.
Why did “Rings of Power” went with this route for Saurondriel kiss?
Instead of having the physical form (Charlie Vickers) the audience is familiar with?
The obvious answer would be not to piss off the Tolkien fandom, but they had “Elrond” do this, and that’s way more “offensive” than Charlie’s Sauron. Everyone must be aware of this by now, but Galadriel is Elrond’s future mother-in-law, and is like a mother figure to him. No Tolkien fan would be ok with Galadriel and Elrond kissing. And the backlash speaks for itself.
“Rings of Power” follows the “Game of Thrones” formula; it’s filled with red herrings and “mystery boxes” to give the fans something to speculate about. The showrunners (and Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO, himself) want the “Rings of Power” fandom to be like “Game of Thrones” fandom; speculate, theorize and analyze every clue, foreshadowing, etc. the episodes provides. Meaning: we aren’t suppose to take everything that happens on-screen for granted. And like in “Game of Thrones”, the actors will bullsh*t its audience in interviews until it’s time for the actual reveal.
Galadriel herself is probably aware of this fact (it was Sauron and not Elrond who helped and kissed her), already, thanks to being bound to Sauron. So, I’m not sure how they will reveal this to the audience; unless it’s a flashback of some sort. But this probably also had some weight in Galadriel joining Sauron in 2x08, until Nenya stopped her, too. And Sauron being so comfortable doing something like this could also indicate that Galadriel and Halbrand might have, indeed, shared a kiss, off-screen.

If Snape was using Occlumency to shield his mind from Voldemort, why didn’t Voldemort become suspicious that Snape was hiding something since he couldn’t penetrate his mind with Legilimency?
Tumblr media
It’s because Snape did something far cleverer than merely “shielding his mind” from Lord Voldemort.
As one can make out from their interactions, Snape seemed to be the only Death Eater whom Voldemort ever had any modicum of respect for. You don’t merit Lord Voldemort’s esteem by being incompetent or stupid. Snape clearly earned his spot as Voldemort’s most revered servant by proving himself and being the asset that he was.
See, Snape never lied to Voldemort. Snape knew that Voldemort’s skill in Legillemency would immediately alert him to duplicity, so instead, Snape only told Voldemort the truth.
When Voldemort first returned, Snape justified his initial absconding from the Death Eaters by saying that he thought Voldemort had been vanquished in Godric’s Hollow. In The Prince’s Tale, we learn that this is actually true. Snape thought Voldemort had gone, and it was only Dumbledore who insisted that he would one day return. Later, he told Bellatrix that Voldemort forgave him for impeding him in his plot to purloin the Philosopher’s Stone because he did not know Voldemort was the mastermind behind the enterprise, and only thought that “unworthy” Professor Quirrell (whom Snape hated for getting the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher position) was trying to take the Stone for himself. Again, this turns out to be completely true.
Snape then spent 2 years “spying” on Dumbledore, and relayed what little he knew of the Headmaster’s activities to Voldemort. Dumbledore chose to keep Snape in the dark on most of his plots, which was actually (justifiably I might add) a source of great frustration for Snape. Then he killed Dumbledore just as Voldemort wanted.
Before the Battle of the Seven Potters, Snape gave Voldemort the correct date of Harry’s departure from Little Whinging. He correctly pointed out that Yaxley had been given a false trail, and truthfully divulged that the Order of the Phoenix distrusted the Ministry and the Auror office and wanted nothing to do with the institution. Re-read the scene from The Dark Lord Ascending in the books and pay close attention to the description of Voldemort’s body language. He hangs on to every word Snape says with great interest, and invites Snape to sit by his side. Meanwhile he ignores and then silences Yaxley (whom he shunts beside Dolohov), and expresses contempt for the Malfoys and Bellatrix by humiliating them. But Snape he holds in far higher regard, arguably valuing him more than anyone save for his beloved Nagini.
Voldemort was quite correct in recognizing Snape as an impressively talented and exceptionally intelligent wizard. He just never calculated that Snape’s cunning could be used against him. Even if Voldemort had decided to raid Snape’s mind, he would’ve found little of interest. Snape’s love for Lily Potter was already known to Voldemort (and he foolishly underestimated it, just as he did with Lily’s love for Harry), and the fact that he spent a great deal of time scheming with Dumbledore would not have perturbed Voldemort, but would’ve pleased him. That was literally the job that Snape was given; to earn Dumbledore’s trust and spy on him, and then relay his plans to Voldemort.
Snape’s deception of Voldemort is honestly one of the most underrated feats in the entire series, not necessarily because it was magically impressive (although it was), but because it was carried out so cleverly. As was made clear by his potion riddle all the way back in Philosopher’s Stone, Snape’s greatest talent was his cleverness, which so many wizards seem to lack. Hermione was quite right in recognizing Snape’s genius.
Snape fooled Voldemort with the truth, not with lies. That’s how he got away with it for so long.
Our Snapey has the brightest mind in the entire series, period. 🖤

Silco Headcanon
Tumblr media
Okay, whether you want to believe Silco was crushing on Felicia or he was just fond of her....
It really explains a lot in regards to Jinx and Vi.
I think Silco would have been both devastated at Felicia's death and proud that she died for a cause they believed in. Vander taking her kids, I believe, could have been a major sore spot with Silco.
Depending on when we want to believe the river betrayal happened (prior to the bridge battle or after), Silco doesn't appear to be on the bridge and why? Was he already so terribly injured he couldn't fight? That Silco stoked up the people's anger to where Vander couldn't back out of the battle and Felicia ended up dying?
I want to wonder if Vander prior to the battle, was having second thoughts. Felicia now had two kids and Vander was starting to see things differently. There were too many kids or people that would become collateral damage if they failed against Piltover. I'm thinking Vander began to believe they were going to lose big.
So perhaps, killing Silco was to way to end it before it became worse but by that time there was no stopping the rebellion and he still had to lead them in battle.
Yet, of course, the letter Vander wrote Silco signifies that the betrayal happened post-bridge battle. I wish the animators had not made them so young in Silco's flashback in S1E3 and then Vander clearly with a full beard in S1E1. I have to think that they didn't plan to expound on Silco/Vander post-S1. I believe they added the backstory because fans fell in love with these two characters.
So making her death the reason behind Vander killing Silco?. I kind of wish it was pre-battle that Vander had a change of heart but it was too late to back out, so he took it out on Silco thinking it would be a wrench in the cog and stop it. Silco jokingly claiming "#1" makes me feel like he thought he was the mastermind and Vander was just the muscle. So Vander used that muscle to stop him.
I think it works better if Vander tried to kill him before the battle, but it seems like Riot is making her the catalyst which I think is too easy a cop out. UNLESS, one of those kids is Vander's or Silco's.
Why is Felicia so important to kill your brother over? There are plenty of families, kids being put at risk but she is the big catalyst? Yeah, she's the mum of Vi/Jinx but why is she so important to Vander and Silco? Such importance needs to be explained.
When Silco says in S1E3 that Vander still kept his respect maybe that was because he still went through with the battle. Silco then adds, "until you played lapdog" and it all changed when he saw how Vander controlled the Lanes and worked with Enforcers and gave up all effort to combat Piltover.
So you have Felicia dead. Silco probably was barred by Vander in paying respects, etc. Vander talks to Benzo about Silco as that dark secret no one wants to know about.
Vi being the leader of the kids. She would be more on Silco's radar than Jinx. She is very much like Vander and that probably irks Silco to the bone if he considers Felicia a true patriot like himself. So, by extension he low-key hates Vi.
When he sees Jinx at Vander's dead body. He is vaguely aware she is Vi's sister and probably considering kidnapping or using her to get to Vi. It IS fucked up because these are KIDS. But Silco has a warped sense of life.
Most likely when he was a kid (as he chides Finn at the Chembaron meeting) he had nothing and most likely was a child labourer. So maybe he doesn't see Zaun kids as innocents and they are fair game. Hell, he has child labour making shimmer (Renni's son).
So, JInx tells him Vi isn't her sister anymore and he sees Vander's dead body. Vander isn't his brother anymore. But now he can take Felicia's younger child and mold her to what he though Felicia was? Like him? However, in S1 we don't see any conversation or hint of JInx knowing much about her mother or that Silco knew her.
As Jinx ages, she looks more and more like Felicia and I think that is a positive memory Silco chooses to keep. It makes him happy that he is protecting her daughter, helping her. He encourages her experimentation/scientific skills. Silco molds her into a version of himself, a patriot that maybe he chooses to believe Felicia was more like him than Vander turning her kids to his views.
SIlco lets Jinx gets away with EVERYTHING. He gives her important jobs that confound his subordinates like Sevika and piss off the Chembarons. No one touches Jinx. Silco won't allow it.
Smeech knows she's fair game now because Silco can't protect her anymore.
I think this is why Silco has a fragmented view of Jinx. He's sees a daughter he wants to nuture and protect but he also sees her as an equal and has absolute faith in her skills to build a weapon against Piltover. He struggles between the two. Treating her like his child an d treating her like a member of his team. Basically Felicia 2.0.
In her lab when he is so angry at what Jinx did in Piltover, only to see she stole the stone and he isn't giving her enough credit. And when she hugs him, he's reminded, she loves him like a father.
On the bridge after her fight with Ekko, Silco is mortified that he caused her death/injury. He sees the stone and realizes he put her in this position. She almost died because of him.
I wonder if that triggered a memory of Felicia dying on the bridge. He wasn't able to understand Vander and I think finding Jinx on the bridge was the beginning. He couldn't bear to lose Jinx. She can't die. It will kill him. He can't be the reason she dies.
So when he meets Jayce, he's protecting Jinx the whole time and when the ultimatum is handing her over to get everything he's always wanted, a free, independent Zaun. He can't do it. He cares too much . He still wants freedom but he'll find another way to do it.
At the tea party, he tells Jinx she means more to him than getting what he's always wanted. She knows how important that was to him, and you see it in her face. He calls her his daughter. She has the love and acceptance she's been looking for. It wasn't just Silco being protector/mentor. He sees her as HIS family.
I think that's why "you're perfect" hits so fucking hard. You know he loves her. In his own messed up way, all the mistakes he's made with Jinx, he loves her and was willing to give up his dream to keep her safe.
If Vi knows more about Silco than she lets on.... Sevika turning the knife by saying "she's like his daughter" is a real kick in the face. Because Sevika would probably know, wouldn't she??? Food for thought.
Fuck, I could talk about this all night but I have to go to bed if I want to get up for work tomorrow.

Finished reading Rides to Lake Silberneherze and wow. Degenbrecher was obviously going to be one of my favorites but I didn't expect to also end up liking Harold so much. I thought he was mostly going to be a political rival for Silverash, yet he's actually such a good foil for Degen instead... in love with their fight and conversation atop the frozen lake.
(Spoilers alert for the last part of the event)
Thinking about the earlier scene with his soldier still suffering from nightmares from the war. How both him and his men were so much happier living a normal life in Kjerag than as soldiers, very much mirroring Degenbrecher's own experience (funnily enough both her and Harold are tremendously popular with the citizens). He doesn't even want to harm the place and is ready to make concessions most nobles would never make
Tumblr media
But no matter how gentle of a person he is, no matter if he's one of the "good nobles" and "good soldiers", he's still part of the nobility and the military. as long as he remains part of Victoria's war machine, he'll keep being an instrument of fear and suffering and bring those dangers even to the sole place he hoped could have remained safe from it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Degenbrecher also found comfort in the peace and warmth of Kjerag after a lifetime of fighting, but while it's true that they're the same in that they're both ready to take arms again if it's for their home, I believe it's important to note that Degen is fighting specifically a defensive battle to protect the home she chose for herself, while Harold is actively going against his morals for the sake of his native country that has taken an offensive position against a much smaller power. Harold is fighting as a Viscount of Victoria, leading an army of thousands of soldiers under orders from a Duke that doesn't care about his wishes. Degenbrecher is fighting by her own will as just a single citizen of Kjerag.

The segment in which she fights a thousand soldiers is truly breathtaking. The narration and the characters treat her as an hero coming out straight out from the stories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the Victorian military explicitly contrasts her as the cold realism that suffocates all legends of heroism (very reminiscent of the Steam Knights segment in chapter 11 I'd say).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And looking at this, they really do represent their respective countries. Victoria is the so-called greatest nation in the world, using its immense power to "bully" (as Leto puts it) the much smaller, seemingly powerless Kjerag. But despite all this, Kjerag resists. It might not be able to topple Victoria, just like Degen can't defeat an army by herself, but they can resist. They can make it hard for them. They can keep them at bay for some time, maybe long enough for things to change. Despite all odds, Kjerag stood up to Victoria, and Degenbrecher stood up to an army.
And to me it's just so, so important that the very leader of that cold "machine" was himself an admirer of the knight from the stories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He had to step over so much of what he loved for the sake of a Duke that didn't care about any of it. Meanwhile, as much of a mastermind Silverash might be, he never forced Degenbrecher to do anything. Kjerag welcomed her, and so she simply defended Her.

Screw it, who wants some Niobe Fic spoilers?
This is mostly backstory stuff. Ideally it will come up in-story as a dramatic reveal somewhere, but maybe talking through it in-depth will help me sort it out in my head.
So!
Let's start at the beginning.
The mastermind behind the plot to kidnap and brainwash Lester is the titan Astraea. She is a goddess of innocence and purity, and has watched with great sadness as humanity has plunged into corruption over the millennia.
She blames Zeus for this. Humanity had flourished during the golden age of Kronos' rule, and she had been devastated when the Olympians prevailed during the Second Titanomachy. She wants Olympus to fall, and to bring humanity back to the Golden Age when humanity was more pure and innocent: No strife or conflict -- but also no higher knowledge or technology. She wants to send humanity back to a pre-Paleolithic lifestyle.
Astraea was watching from the stars as both the Second Titanomachy and the Second Gigantomachy both failed. If Olympus were to ever fall, it wouldn't be to any outside force. But if she can manipulate them to turn on each other, they could easily destroy themselves.
What's that got to do with Lester?
Astraea needs to show the other gods that Zeus can no longer maintain control. By turning Apollo mortal, he's inadvertently given her a perfect opportunity to strike.
Astraea arranged for Lester to be captured right after defeating Nero, but before he could reach Delphi. Her plan is to delay that final battle, allowing Python to grow far more powerful and become a true threat to the Olympians. Apollo is the one destined to defeat the serpent, but as long as he is her captive, he cannot do so. As far as the Olympians will know, Apollo has simply vanished without a trace. Soon enough they'll realize that Zeus' decision to punish Apollo has ruined their one chance at defeating Python before his rise to power, and they will turn on their king. Between battling the serpent and fighting with each other, Olympus will fall.
What is Astraea's endgame here?
Her plan doesn't end with the fall of Olympus. She plans to allow Python to rampage for quite some time, causing an apocalypse and set humanity back thousands of years. Once the mortals are sufficiently culled, she will bestow Lester with enough power to defeat Python, and have him finally slay the serpent.
Lester/Apollo will rise victorious and Astraea will enthrone him as the new King of the Gods, one who will rule a new golden age like Kronos did thousands of years ago.
What about Niobe?
For this plan to work, it's not enough for Lester to have his memories erased. He needs to be sheltered from any outside influence, and he needs to remain off the Olympians' radar.
Astraea offers Niobe the ultimate revenge against Leto by stealing Apollo as her own son. Niobe eagerly accepts this, and is willing to raise him to Astraea's standards to ensure he'll have the right mindset when it's time for him to finally ascend. As a reward, Niobe herself will also ascend as a goddess of motherhood when Lester does.
To make Lester undetectable, Astraea does not simply remove memories, she actually cuts away pieces of Lester's soul and hides them away so Apollo's divine essence cannot be detected. This leaves him not just empty but incomplete, and easier to mold.
It's a perfect, foolproof plan!
And she would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those meddling Egyptians!

The final three contestants of Total Drama World Tour stood on the beaches of Hawaii.
Alejandro and Noah were having a Hawaiian Battle to the 'death', while Heather was tied to a pole.  But alas Alejandro had eventually disarmed Noah of his weapon. The Charmer then, with a playful glint in his eyes, pinned Noah to the ground, his lips brushing against Noah's nose in a lingering kiss. The camera zoomed in, capturing Noah's face: a mixture of embarrassment, outrage, and a surprising glimmer of fascination. Alejandro, his eyes sparkling with mischief, enjoyed the spectacle, relishing the shock and awe of the former contestants. The next challenge was a test of speed and sacrifice. Heather and Alejandro were tasked with selecting helpers to make the pineapple dummies. The first one to hurl their dummy into the fiery maw of the volcano would be declared the winner.
Heather picked Noah and Cody. Alejandro picked Courtney and Lindsay.  Heather, fueled by a competitive spirit as fierce as the volcano itself, ran as fast as she could with her dummy. She sprinted to the edge of the crater right past Alejandro, the heat radiating towards her, and with a defiant yell, tossed her offering into the fiery abyss.  The world held its breath. The cameras focused on Alejandro, expecting anger or disappointment. Instead, a genuine smile spread across his face, a smile that surprised even Heather. Heather, ever the opportunist, capitalized on the moment. She leaned in, her lips meeting Alejandro's in a passionate kiss, a kiss that surprised everyone. Then, with a mischievous glint in her eye, she turned to Noah, who stood there. She planted a soft kiss on his lips, Noah’s eyes widening in disbelief. Alejandro, without missing a beat, followed suit and kissed Noah on the lips as well.
The contestants watched in slack-jawed shock.
With a flourish, Alejandro explained, 'The three of us have been in a polymorphic couple, since before the 3rd season. Heather and Noah got together, somewhere around the Season 1 Finale. They added me into their relationship after Season 2. We decided not to make it official until the show was over. Now, that the show is over, we don't have to hide anymore.' The cameras caught a glimpse of Noah's hesitant blush and Alejandro's smug smile.  Heather, ever the mastermind, had orchestrated a perfect ending.  The finale party was a blur of celebratory drinks and ecstatic laughter. Heather, draped in a dazzling red gown, danced with her two boyfriends, her eyes sparkling with genuine happiness. The three of them, in their own unique way, had found contentment in their unconventional arrangement. Heather, true to her ambitious nature, used her winnings to purchase a lavish mansion, a home for the three of them to share. Their life together was a testament to their resilience and ability to defy norms, proving that love can bloom even in the most unexpected of places. After all, even a queen bee needs a king, or two, to complete her hive.

Blueprints of Chaos - A Batman story
In the heart of Gotham City, where crime thrived under the cover of night, a new terror emerged—an enigmatic villain known as The Architect. With a mind sharper than any blade, The Architect orchestrated elaborate heists that left the city's criminal underbelly in awe and the police in disarray. Each heist was a meticulously planned masterpiece that pushed the limits of crime. As the Bat-Signal illuminated the cloudy sky, Batman stood atop the Gotham City Police Department, analyzing the latest robbery at the Gotham Museum of Modern Art. The Architect had struck again, stealing priceless artifacts and leaving behind a clue—a detailed blueprint of the museum, annotated with cryptic messages. This was no ordinary thief; The Architect was a mastermind playing a dangerous game. "You must follow InfoSphere on Tumblr, he writes awesome stories," Batman muttered, recalling whispers from the city’s underground network. InfoSphere was known for predicting the moves of Gotham's criminals, and Batman hoped to glean insight from him. Descending into Gotham's underbelly, Batman navigated dimly lit corners where criminals lurked. He followed a trail of whispers to a clandestine meeting of infamous crime lords discussing The Architect. Fear was evident as they exchanged stories of the chaos he had wrought. The Dark Knight pieced together information, realizing The Architect's grand design involved destabilizing Gotham itself. Each heist was amassing power and influence, pulling strings from the shadows. Determined, Batman knew he had to confront The Architect before the city succumbed to his vision of anarchy. In a hidden warehouse, Batman set a trap, leaving behind a false artifact to lure The Architect. As anticipation thickened in the air, a figure cloaked in shadow stepped inside. The Architect, confident and smug, approached the decoy, unaware of the vigilante waiting in the darkness. "Welcome to your downfall," Batman growled, emerging. The Architect's surprise quickly morphed into a twisted grin. "You think you can stop me, Batman? You have no idea what you're up against," he taunted. The ensuing battle was a clash of wits and strength. Batman, fueled by determination, countered The Architect's cunning moves with precision. But The Architect proved formidable, manipulating the environment to his advantage. Suddenly, Batman fell into a hidden chamber filled with stolen artifacts—pieces of The Architect's grand puzzle. Realizing the true nature of the villain's plan, Batman activated his communicator, urgently calling for backup. The Architect's scheme was more sinister than he had anticipated, and time was running out. As sirens echoed in the distance, Batman prepared for the final confrontation. To save Gotham, he needed to outsmart The Architect, using intellect as much as force. This battle would determine the city's fate, and Batman was ready to do whatever it took to emerge victorious. The night was still young, and in the shadows of Gotham, a war was brewing—one that would test the limits of heroism and villainy alike. With every heartbeat, the stakes grew higher, and the story of The Architect was far from over. By InfoSphere

Pairings: Damiano David x fem!reader Contents: Fluff Summary: You’re at a party and you’re squabbling over a sofa with Damiano when he unintentionally reveals something while unaware that you’re eavesdropping  Words: ~1129 A/N: A touch of enemies to lovers for you all, because I love it!I should warm you that it contains some explicit language. Please, forgive me again if you come across any errors while reading. I hope you enjoy it 💙
I just wanna hold you close tonight
You're at your bestie's party, at her crib. Parties aren't really your thing, but there's no way to dodge one when your friend is the mastermind behind it.
The house is jam-packed, the music is blasting, and Vic, one of your pals, is rocking the DJ booth. Vic and Thomas, your childhood buddies, are also here, along with Ethan. You became friends with Ethan after he joined the band. As for Damiano... well, let's just say you and him are like acquaintances. You wouldn't exactly call him a friend because you both don't exactly hit it off. He tends to make you feel uneasy, so you try to avoid being in the same place as him whenever possible. Whenever his gaze meets yours, it's like all your defenses crumble, and you can't stand that feeling.
You've had a few sips, but not enough to get wasted, just enough to feel a little extra lively and adventurous. Everyone is having a blast, but all you crave is the comfort of your bed. As you navigate through the crowd, trying to escape small talk, you stumble upon a vacant couch in the living room. It's like a dream come true — all you want is to plop down and catch some Z's!
As you were about to reach the sofa, Damiano flings himself onto it, stretching his legs out and occupying the entire space.
"You've got to be kidding me!" you exclaim, giving him a stern look.
He gazes back at you, confused.
"What did I do?"
"I was going to sit there, you goofball."
"Oh, my bad, Y/N. Didn't realize you had plans."
You grumble angrily and retort:
"Move or I'll plop down and squish your head!"
"You know, that wouldn't be a half-bad idea. You sitting on my head, right over my mouth, to be precise," he smirks.
"You're repulsive. Get off the couch, Damiano."
"I've already told you no. Looks like you'll have to sit here by force."
You roll your eyes and throw yourself on top of him, engaging in a playful struggle to push each other off the couch. Suddenly, both of you freeze as you end up on his lap.
Damiano continues to stare at you, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, well."
You roll your eyes and simply say:
"Shut up, and you know what? You can stay right there, no need to move. You're surprisingly comfortable."
You push him, pressing his back against the couch, and then rest your head on his chest.
"Keep quiet, I'm tired," you practically command, closing your eyes.
Incredibly, he simply obeys your request.
//
You don't know exactly how long you've dozed off, but the party is still in full swing, and you're still sprawled on top of Damiano. Amidst all the noise, you can't hear his heart pounding, but you can feel the rhythmic beats.
"Is it the end of the world? You two getting along without exchanging insults," you hear Ethan remark.
"You say that because you didn't witness the battle it took to reach this point," Damiano retorts.
"Damiano, leave her be. Let's enjoy the party," a female voice you don't recognize calls out to Damiano.
You don't pay attention to what Damiano says, or perhaps he simply ignores the girl. With one hand resting on your head, you can faintly feel a gentle stroke through your hair.
He doesn't want to disturb your peaceful slumber. Seeing you so calm and serene lying on his lap is a sight he's never witnessed before. It's a far cry from the usual furrowed and stressed Y/N when you're together.
"Are you planning on staying there until the party is over?" the girl asks once more.
Damiano takes a deep breath and responds:
"Whether or not I stay here all night is none of your business."
Ethan lets out a faint chuckle and waits a few minutes before speaking up:
"Hey, Damiano. Deep down, you have feelings for her, don't you?"
You sense Damiano's heartbeat quicken. Could he be nervous about the question?
Damiano hesitates for a moment before finally admitting:
"Yeah, I like her, all right? It's just that... she's complicated."
Ethan bursts into laughter.
"I knew it! It's as clear as day if you ask me. And I do not doubt that she likes you too."
Damiano's face lights up with a smile at the thought of his feelings being reciprocated by you. He has liked you since the day you first met, but he never quite knew how to express it. The playful banter and dynamic between you two became his way of catching your attention.
"I really hope so..." he murmurs as he rests his cheek against your head, inhaling the sweet fragrance of your hair. "Please, let her like me," Damiano whispers, almost inaudibly.
You let out a sleepy sigh, lazily opening and closing your eyes, but stay still, relishing the sensation of Damiano's heartbeat.
He likes you, and you heard him confess it. If you hadn't heard it directly from him, if Ethan or anyone else had told you, you would never have believed it.
One of your hands rests on Damiano's shoulder, and you glide it gently across his skin until you reach his neck, where you begin a tender caress.
With his other hand, free to move, Damiano strokes your arm and whispers in your ear,
"How long have you been awake?"
"I'm taking off," Ethan announces.
With your eyes still shut, you respond:
"It's not a big deal, but I heard you confess that you like me and want me to feel the same way."
"Look at me," Damiano requests.
You disregard his plea, not wanting to lose the sensation of his racing heartbeat.
"No, I want to keep feeling your heartbeat."
Damiano chuckles and gently holds your chin, directing your gaze toward him.
"You'll be able to feel it pounding over and over," he says.
You raise an eyebrow and inquire:
"Really?"
"Yes, ever since the day you entered my life, it's been racing at the mere thought of you. It's been yours all along, and you can hear or feel its rhythm whenever you want."
You smile widely and guide one of Damiano's hands to your chest, allowing him to feel your heartbeat as well.
It's just as fast as his.
"My heart dances the same tune. I suppose that's why I'm always on guard whenever I'm around you because my heart belongs to you too."
"Y/N..." Damiano begins, but you cut him off.
"Shh, if I recall correctly, I told you to hush, but it seems that proved challenging for you..."
Before you can finish your sentence, Damiano pulls you into a kiss.
It's a kiss filled with unbridled passion. A kiss that should have taken place ages ago.

WILD CARD OF WITCHES DUELS - Battle 60: Amity Blight vs Luz Noceda - exclusive Witches Duel, the "Lumity Edition💅"
Disclaimer: This is not a popularity contest or which character you prefer, in this tournament, you decide who is stronger/better/smarter/etc. opponent.
Extra Disclaimer: To reassure the shippers that shall come across this post, Luz and Amity ARE NOT forced to battle each other. They're not doing this with heavy heart, against their will, or with any hard feelings behind it. This isn't a grudge, or a major fight within the couple, or a break-up, not at all. This is their 💖DATE💖. Luz and Amity are fine fighting in this duel because to them it's essentially their date. They promised each other they will see each other in the finals and here they are. They're both each other's biggest cheerleader in this battle while also going all out and having a lot of fun while doing this. This is essentially the anniversary of the first time they got to know their true selves to one another and they're making it very cheesy, and sappy, and all way round beautiful.
Hence I'm telling you TO NOT make them tie. In the end, this is still a duel and there can be only one winner. Luz and Amity don't mind who it will be in the end as they're happy either way so DO NOT try to make them tie. If I catch any of you telling people in the notes to make them tie, I'm blocking you and re-doing the post all over again without your input. If Lumity ties they're both disqualified from the tournament and all their previous battles are completely erased. Let the girls have fun and pick who's the better fighter between them, even if you love them both. To them, it doesn't matter who wins or who loses, as long as both of them remain in the tournament. Now onto the battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
information for both opponents under the cut to those who don't know what they can do in their battle:
Because of how lengthy both of their profiles I won't be getting into deeper details on what they can do and just put links in their names:
Tumblr media
Amity Blight:
Tumblr media
Amity Blight naturally specializes in Abomination Magic the most, but she does so capacity in knowing spells of other tracks like Plants and Illusion, but it's very limited.
Tumblr media
Amity and Luz are girlfriends who love each other very much and by the time of this tournament, their relationship is as strong as ever. They both promised each other to meet in the finals and Amity is more than happy that she managed to keep her promise despite the odds. Nonetheless, both girls are having fun and flexing and don't necessarily have a clear desire to win. Their battle is a dance and the winner gets the kisses 💜💜💜
Tumblr media
Amity is a very skilled, talented, cool-headed, and pragmatic fighter. Hardly does she lose composure when battling even strong opponents, displaying plenty of agility and athleticism (as shown in her battle with Hunter and Grom, which is also given considering she was a former captain of the grudgby team at Hexside), and can be both a powerhouse using plenty of strength or a mastermind coming up with tricks on the fly while outsmarting her opponents with her skillset. Very dangerous, and even more so once she puts more passion into her battle. Hardly there are any weak spots or flaws in her battling style, but she can still be overpowered. Abomination Magic in particular feels to be weaker than Construction Magic for example, and it can be rendered useless when dealing in an environment with no mud. Granted Amity holds abomination goo with her so at most, she's going to be weakened. Amity is capable of controlling any slime or mud she comes in contact with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amity does wield a Palisman named Ghost and according to herself, she's a "safe flyer". This means she's overall pretty proficient and skilled in her flying capabilities, but at the same time, it means she's not a real aerial ace like Luz or Hunter for example. She's skilled enough to not easily fall off by herself, but as proven in her battles with Hunter (both EL and TTT), she's not fast enough to necessarily avoid being hit in midair. Granted she can still be faster than average and have better reflexes than average, but still not enough to beat some real aerial aces. She is proficient in staff-wielding, being capable of using it to enhance her own spells.
Tumblr media
Also yes I'm putting Lumity pictures everywhere and everywhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luz Noceda:
Tumblr media
Here are the links to three separate character profile pages for Luz as she just has this many. Here you go
Tumblr media
Luz and Amity are girlfriends and their relationship is healthy and stable at the moment of this tournament. They're both enjoying themselves here without the care of who wins and who loses because both of them are the queens who are winning, making this battle an absolute delight, very cheesy and very sappy and very adorable you'll get diabetes. No drama whatsoever, just having fun sparring with her girlfriend with everyone watching cause why not? Yes, they're gay💅, keep scrolling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luz Noceda, the protagonist of our story, is one and only. Unlike other competitors, Luz is a rare example of a jack of all trades who does not specialize in one specific magical track and studies all of them. Normally, Luz specializes in glyphs but according to the lore of my own tournament which happens after the final battle with Belos, Luz no longer has access to glyphs. However, she now does have a magical staff that allows her to still be able to cast spells just fine as proven by Owlbert in Young Blood, Old Souls. Now, since my rules specify how at times you're not allowed to use palismen in the battle, Luz is capable of avoiding this rule thanks to String Bean's shape-shifting nature, as String Bean possibly could transform into an accessory that would allow Luz to cast a spell like everyone is none the wiser, or maybe even shape-shift into an instrument to mimic bard magic (even though Luz has no vibration based spells). Outside of that Luz would also have access to some other supporting artifacts.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Luz's fighting style, she in general prefers to outsmart and outpower her opponents with the raw strength of her magic. Luz has come far ever since she started to learn magic, currently with String Bean by her side she certainly is now more accustomed to spell-casting. Luz is quite proficient with magic now coming up with new creative ways to utilise her magic. She also now has more experience in combat meaning she's more willing to take down her opponents head-on. Luz can however be pretty reckless and impulsive when approaching her opponents, biting more than she can chew and sometimes jumping without thinking. Luz can however be quick on her feet and easily recover and come up with new ways to get an upper hand during battles.
Tumblr media
Luz possesses now her own palisman as we all know it which happens to be none other than String Bean. String Bean showed that with her presence, Luz could be even stronger than she used to be, and Luz had plenty of experience with Owlbert beforehand to know how to use a witch's staff. Luz is a true aerial ace as Eda's Requiem episode proves as she could've won the race if it wasn't for King. She of course also knows how to correctly cast spells with staff alone and can use it in combat. String Bean also has a unique ability of shape-shifting, which allows her to take on features of other creatures and use them to her advantage. Granted she can't change size with the ability so all animals will be miniature, but it can come in handy nonetheless, and she could possibly change String Bean into other objects (like jewelry or instruments) in case she can't use witch's staff.
Tumblr media
Luz shall be allowed a multitude of tools to help her out during battles. One of them happens to be a crystal ball from her oracle class. Luz can use it to conjure up a single ghost that can be used to help Luz aid in the battle and also predict Luz's future. The ghost is usually chill but rather helpful. It's intangible meaning it's immune to physical attacks for the most part (but can be dispelled with special attacks) and can phase through solid objects to get to its opponents and be capable of touching them to inflict harm.
Tumblr media
Another tool Luz would be allowed to use is tea leaves from oracle class which would also help her learn about her opponents, what they're capable of, and what they're going to do.
Tumblr media
Luz is also equipped with a training wand in case she needs another source of magic to cast spells from. It's like a hidden dagger if someone would take her sword (as in her staff, I'm clearly alluding to Sasha Waybright's example) away.
Tumblr media
Another tool Luz is free to use is her iconic bat which Luz can use for offensive purposes. Luz is allowed to have and use other weapons like a mace and a sword to aid her in the time of her need.
Tumblr media
And of course, how could I not forget that Luz also has fireworks to help her in a fight to add more to her firepower.
Tumblr media
While Luz doesn't have beast-keeping magic at all, she does seem to have an affinity to be able to tame most of the wild beasts as presented throughout the entire show with her knowledge and attitude. This means Luz is not really affected much by beast-keepers sending animals in her direction unless they're directly under the command of their masters (as in like pets. Sometimes some beasts are untamed and would not follow even the beast-keeper).
Tumblr media
Luz also has brought snakes to her battle as she managed to tame them just enough so they would not attack her but certainly would attack her opponents. They're not venomous though considering now pressed any charges when Luz brought them to school. She will bring a few of them.
Tumblr media
Another animal that Luz would bring with her to the battlefield are spiders. They're mostly used to just scare people during the fight by pouring them all over her opponents. Can be used as a great distraction. She has quite big number of them and she can even naturally attract them as seen in TtT. The spiders are also not harmful and Luz is not phased by them either.
Tumblr media
Smoke Potion - Another tool Luz would be granted to use is a smoke potion she could brew as seen in the First Day. Luz could potentially utilize it as a smokescreen or suffocation attempt.

For the ask game: 12 me please :)
Albus Dumbledore. The man, the myth, the legend. I am so saddened to see him either completely excluded, or, far worse, villainized to a childish degree.
He is, without doubt, the most complex character of the story. In fact, without him, there would be no story. He is the wisdom and power of the universe, the Gandalf, the God to Harry's Jesus and Voldemort's Satan.
He is the mastermind behind our hero's winning. They'd be TOAST without him.
I get why some people don't like him! He's not my favourite character, either! However, from not liking him or caring about him to 'he stole Harry's money, he abused Harry, he made Tom into Voldemort etc'- I feel that's too much of a stretch.
I rarely, rarely enjoy good guys in fiction, because they tend to be fairly simple. The hero is, in epic fantasy, usually Kind and Good and Noble. Usually young, on a journey to self discovery, battling against impossible odds. Dumbledore, for me, is the first interesting good guy, and the true hero of the story (of course, he'd have lost without Harry and the Voldemort/Harry connection, but Harry would have lost without Dumbledore, too, so there's that).
Man defeated not one, but two dark lords. He saved UK and Europe twice, in a century. Is he perfect? No, and he'll be the first one to tell you he isn't perfect. (I disagree with him on that- he's damn well near perfect).
He realised his potential for villainy and STAYED away from power, locked himself in a school and only came out when shit hit the fan and he had to plot the defeat of these overpowered dark lords (one of whom he loved). He gave his life for the world- beautiful. Orchestrated his death, even. And, before he died, he did his damn best to make sure Harry will survive, to give him the Deathly Hallows. It was no guarantee, of course, but he tried and planned and in the end, it all happened exactly how he wanted it to happen. He never stumbled blindly through this war, he was always one step ahead of everyone, including my beloved Voldemort.
Man is intelligent, funny, humble even while acknowledging his incredible worth, and kind. He is a kind man, and I am baffled when I see 'evil Dumbledore' taken seriously. (I have nothing against evil Dumbledore in AUs, or in like crack or whatever). He's eccentric and he's fucking ancient, and he dresses fabulously.
Man shouldn't be a teacher, though 😂 Horribly biased! I will never forget him stealing Slytherin's win and giving it to Gryffindor in Harry's first year. That was so unfair (but very funny). He's also scarily negligent with student safety, but then most of the teachers at Hogwarts are like that. I guess most wizards are, what with magic being an easy fix to everything.
Oh, and bonus- Lucius! I don't have much to say here, expect he's hot and I'd like to see more fics with him 😂

I have a few criticisms for the endgame of Baldur's Gate 3, but one of my big ones is that the Netherbrain is...not a good villain.
Yes, we've been hearing about the 'Absolute' the entire game. The mysterious god who has a vast, terrifying cult under her control. The mystery builds and builds until you discover, at the end of Act 2, that the Absolute is in fact an Elder Brain being puppeteered by the Chosen Three (one of whom was the main villain of Act 2). Throughout all this time, there is also the mystery of the Dream Visitor.
We then spend the entirety of Act 3 dealing with the remaining Chosen and the revelation that the Dream Visitor is the Emperor. The Netherbrain is a looming threat, but it is abstract in comparison to the real, tangible threats that are Orin, Gortash, and the Emperor.
And none of them are the final boss.
Yes, depending on your actions, the Emperor may ally with the Netherbrain at the very end; but at that point he has become a puppet of the Netherbrain; another thrall, a stepping stone to reaching the true threat: the Netherbrain.
But it is just exhausting to go through fighting Orin and Gortash, to only then have to go against the Elder Brain and sit through a scene where no matter what you do, no matter what you roll or what choices you make, the same outcome always occurs: the Netherbrain breaks free and a bigger and even more exhausting end battle waits for you.
The game tries to spin it so that the Netherbrain was actually the secret mastermind the entire time - manipulating the Chosen Three and biding its time - but it just doesn't feel earned. They've already done a villain switcheroo on us: the Absolute isn't a god, it's an Elder Brain being controlled by the Chosen of the Dead Three. Switching it back and saying "Psych! The Netherbrain was the real final boss the entire time" feels cheap. What's more, the Netherbrain just isn't a compelling villain.
I know Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate comparisons are tired at this point, but look at Dragon Age: Origins. The Archdemon may be the final boss, but the villain most people talk and engage with is Loghain. He's compelling, he has motivations and drives, and depending on what background you picked his actions could have serious repercussions for your characters' friends and family. Loghain is the villain; the Archdemon is just a big monster. And it's the same with the Netherbrain.
Just look at how people are engaging with the characters; there's a plethora of meta being written about Thorm, Gortash, Orin, and the Emperor. I'm not seeing the Netherbrain get that same level of interaction. Though it is sentient and has its desires (the Illithid Grand Design), it's just a slightly more intelligent Big Monster that needs slaying. And for an RPG, a game that should be character focused, that is an immensely disappointing final boss.
I think instead, depending on player choice, one of the three Act 3 antagonists - Orin, Gortash, or the Emperor - ascends, takes full control of the Netherbrain, and they're who you have to fight. The final battle has more impact that way - you're fighting against a villain who has actual character, who you potentially have built an actual relationship and history with, and who you actually care about fighting. Imagine how satisfying it would be for the final battle to be against Gortash if you're playing Origin Wyll or Karlach? How much more tragic it would be if the Dark Urge's duel with Orin was the final battle instead of a mid-Act 3 moment? How earned it would feel for it to be the Emperor you're fighting against if you've spent the entire game being manipulated by him?
There are a plethora of interesting and compelling villains in Baldur's Gate 3, and for some reason none of them are the final boss. The final boss is just a big monster. And that's such a big letdown.

Villain Power Scaling (It's over 9000!)
@sarah-sandwich ask and you shall receive
Quick! We wrote an insanely, unexpectedly successful one-off fantasy series! How do we top the villain?
A bigger, badder giant space laser
The villain’s secret jealous sister
The same power, but purple now
The True Mastermind you’ve never heard of
JK, they’re not actually dead!
When you choose to continue on a series and have already committed to possibly destroying the legacy of the characters who fought and died to save the world once by undoing it for money, you had better have a damn good story to tell.
So if you decide your new threat is any of the above, you have quite the uphill battle ahead of you, my friend.
What is Power Scaling?
Power scaling is the nature of the ability of the heroes and the villains to grow more competent over the course of the story via new skills, new powers, or more training. Protagonist’s first fight (that they win, at least) will generally be against a baby, tier-one mook and not up against the main antagonist (*cough* Force Awakens *cough*)
As the story progresses, the mook that was so scary and so hard to beat oh so very long ago will become unnamed cannon fodder in the climax of the story. Generally speaking, this is a linear event and the hero and the villain are constantly one-upping each other until they come head to head in the unavoidable final fight.
Sometimes, things run askew. Maybe the hero’s super special power that saved them last time was a fluke, possible only in those specific circumstances, or one-time use.
Maybe they have amnesia, or the being that gave them that power revoked it, or using it cost them too much. Maybe they got seriously injured in the last fight using it and can no longer go near it if they want to not get hospitalized. Maybe the super power was another character that won the final fight for them last time, but died in the process.
It doesn’t have to be linear, but if you’re going to regress your character without creating a “why didn’t you do what you did last time” plot hole, you will need an ironclad excuse.
So, feast your eyes while I summon the Supernatural fandom back from the dead.
What not to do, as told by Supernatural
This show was originally written to last five seasons and five seasons only. No matter how die hard a fan you are or were, you cannot escape this fact, and neither could the writers.
Season one villain: A demon and her demonic minions
Season two villain: Psychic demon children and Papa Demon Yellow-Eyes
Season three villain: OG Demon Lilith, and Dean’s ticking demon-deal clock
Season four villain: OG Demon Lilith and preventing the rise of Satan
Season five villain: Satan and some douchebag Angels
Then you have Ten. More. Seasons. trying to do better than Satan and the douchebag angels to… varying levels of success and stupidity.
The problem: Supernatural tried to be linear with their power scaling, focusing on ramping up the threat level to nonsensical ends while undermining the threat level of all who came before.
The other problem: Sam, Dean, and Cas never stayed dead long enough for any of these threats to matter.
What I mean is this: In making the threat of the season so impossibly strong, by threatening the world over and over again no matter how many times they save it, by never committing to killing your three most important characters, by never letting the world go a little unsaved in the end, you’re left with a story that *says* it’s bigger, badder, bolder, but is really just a rinse and repeat that goes blander and blander each time.
Coming off Satan and the Douchebag Angels to… Cas and Crowley conspiring over the souls of Purgatory and the unseen war in Heaven because they didn’t have the budget for that, without any of the thematic weight of *why* it was angels and demons? Talk about a loss of momentum.
I rewatch a grand total of one episode of season six, “The French Mistake”. I have lost all context for the plot surrounding this episode and it’s virtually independent of the rest of the season because Sam and Dean get transported into the Real World as Jensen and Jared and poke fun at each other for 52 minutes. This episode is timeless.
The show wasn’t a complete disappointment for the remaining ten seasons or it wouldn’t have lasted that long. It had good beats, but they shot their load in Season Five. After five whole years of buildup to this main event it never recovered.
Alternatives to Linear Power Scaling
Anyone who has or even hasn’t seen Dragon Ball should know that series is famous for infinite power scaling. There’s always someone stronger, always some new secret powerup to unlock with the power of Screaming, always some new Super Sayan color that we promise is more powerful this time, for realsies.
That show is so dedicated to the bit that it’s gone full circle to being loved, not despite it, but because it’s so ridiculous.
You did not write Dragon Ball. Do not do this.
Instead of the infamous clashing multicolored power beams, what other ways can you up the ante of this new threat after your heroes have conquered all they thought stood in their way?
Give a damn good reason why this villain, who is no different than the last schmuck, is unbeatable by the macguffin this time.
As stated above, there’s no need to make the villain More Powerful* if your heroes have lost the world-saving abilities that helped them last time.
2. Exploit the hero’s other weaknesses
More Powerful* is never as exciting as you think it is. Often times, especially in superhero sequels, the villain isn’t necessarily stronger, but the niche power that they do have finds the chink in the hero’s armor that they didn’t have to worry about last time.
3. Make the hero’s niche skillset completely irrelevant
This time, the threat might not be something they can punch or shoot or smack with a hammer. This time, it’s their reputation at stake, or the villain is un-punchable because they’re simply unreachable, causing havoc the hero is helpless to stop.
4. Make the issue not the villain at all, but the hero or their team
Maybe the villain is just a schmuck that would be beatable on any other day, but team infighting means that they make utter asses of themselves and the villain doesn’t have to lift a finger to win because they’ve taken themselves out.
This can get very dramatic like in Captain America: Civil War or the Teen Titans epside "Divide and Conquer". Or, to comedic effect in the Spongebob Episode "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V" (the one with the International Justice League of Super Acquaintances).
Some would argue that the above options aren’t power scaling at all if it’s not linear, and that’s fair. You’re telling a story though—is your story going to be about the superpowers and how cool they are, or the people who wield them?
5. It’s not actually power scaling, it’s about stakes
Supernatural began to feel so stale because even though we were told the villain this time was bigger, badder, bolder, the stakes were always the same. OSP has talked about this, how threatening to end the world has a foregone conclusion of “never actually gonna happen” because what author is crazy enough to let the world get blown up and all their characters murdered?
Raising the stakes, too, is not linear. Last time it was the world, this time, it’s the life of the love interest, it’s someone’s sanity, it’s a ticking clock on a secret that’s about to go public.
That’s why the first five seasons of Supernatural were so engaging. Were Demons the problem every time? Yes. The Demons were causing the problem, but they were causing five different problems. It was finding and saving their missing dad, then it was uncovering the sinister plan of the psychic demon children, then it was trying to escape Dean’s deal, then it was trying to stop the rise of Satan, then it was trying to stop the apocalypse. It was not five seasons of demons trying to destroy the world.
The more personal the stakes, the more likely your audience will believe the hero could actually lose this time. That’s what will keep them engaged. Dean died at the end of season 3! They lost! There was no escaping that deal. Sure he came back in the pilot of season 4, but the entire 4th and 5th seasons are haunted by Dean’s PTSD and new pessimism about the world given what he’s seen and done in Hell.
6. Threatening the world without destroying a legacy
Covered in this post about timeskips and this post about sequels but it’s too important to not keep repeating.
So. The Star Wars sequels. Rain down your wrath like snow on a hot desert—these movies were a giant mess. The audience sat through six entire movies following the rise, fall, and redemption of one man who died to save his son and the galaxy.
Then, what, twenty years later, absolutely none of it mattered? New space Nazis are out for blood with the same equipment, same weapons, same soldiers, same reach, same motives. Within the theatrical release (because I am not paying money to buy content to do homework to understand a movie made for a layman audience) these movies undermined the legacy of the six that came before it.
It didn’t have to be a new galaxy-ending regime and the same rebels still rebelling for the same reasons—how the heck did they let another empire rise so fast?—it could have started small, inconsequential, and then the actions of the new cast then undermined everything Anakin worked for.
I feel like Mr. Incredible wondering why the world can’t just stay saved for ten minutes.
All of this is salvageable. End the world again if you want. There will always be bad actors out to do bad things, you can’t expect a utopia to last forever. But that bleak reality is for the real world, not fantasy. In fantasy, the sacrifice of beloved characters must matter. Otherwise, what’s the point of their story?
How do you do this?
Make the utopia the old characters died for last up until the new inciting incident, and make sure it’s the new characters’ fault, not just due to the passage of time
Make the villain threaten something other than their legacy
Make that legacy the banner behind which the new cast rallies, determined to make sure it wasn’t in vain
7. Or, burn the world down this time
Some of the best middle beats of a story feature a “did we just lose” moment a la Infinity War. The villain has won, fan favorites are dead, their home is in ashes, and now they’re not only starting from the bottom, they’re doing it with righteous vengeance.
Then the loss of the original character’s legacy *is* the tragedy, instead of a side effect. Then, in a way, they’re still part of the story, a ghost on the sidelines cheering on their successors, and we, the audience, are right beside them.
I have a shiny, fresh-off-the-press Insta @chloe_barnes_books now for this blog and my upcoming novel. Go check it out!

"Relationship are...Dangerous." says Vex'ahlia to Percy in the episode "Vexations" (An Analysis)
Tumblr media
“Relationships are…dangerous.” says Vex’ahlia to Percy in the episode of “Vexations” after their one night stand and their feelings for each other. She’s right about that: They can be dangerous when it comes to heartbreak, giving yourself to love, etc but what if I told you there was something else to that? It could involve with enemies trying to harm these loved ones and other things like that. Not sure what I mean? Let me give you examples:
Tumblr media
Example 1: Batman’s view on Relationships
In the beginning of the Justice League Unlimited episode “This Little Piggy”; Wonder Woman and Batman are looking down when Wonder Woman sees loving couples. She mentioned this to Bruce and tease him, then Batman mentioned this iconic line: “One: Dating within the team always leads to disaster. Two: You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues… lots of issues. And three: If my enemies knew I had someone special, they wouldn't rest until they'd gotten to me through her.”
He dated Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, and she’s an antiheroine and part time villain. They are on and off again, they get into trouble with villains and having to be rescued so many times. So yeah, he has a point. Batman had dated Lois Lane as Bruce, she got kidnapped by the Joker and almost killed with one of Lex Luther’s deadly spider robots. And Wonder Woman got turned into a pig by the witch Circe. So yeah, Batman knows how that goes for relationships when it comes to being a crime fighter!
Tumblr media
Example 2: Admiral Claugh Klom saving Lady Noa Twice
The Legend of the Legendary Heroes (what a ridiculously mouthful title, but hey it's a good anime series despite the silly name) is about Ryner, an Alpha Stigma who is a slacker joined by his dango-obsessed companion name Ferris as they go on journeys to retrieve magic items and do reports on them with failed results. Meanwhile; their vitriolic relationship with King Sion is focused on bringing the castle into peace but with tragic consequences. However, I want to focus on two characters, Claugh Klom and his beloved lady Noa Ehn. It seems Noa has been in danger twice, Claugh always saves her from trouble. Knight in shining armor, or knight with magic arm in this case. Let me explaint the gist of all this:
At a war council, Count Kriade demands punishment for the people of Estabul for disrespecting the nobles and rejecting the king's promises of freedom. Sion reveals that the leader of the revolt is the old king's daughter, Noa Ehn. The enemy has 50,000 soldiers, leading to tensions among the nobles about evacuation. Sion appoints Rear Admiral Claugh Klom to lead the army. Noa desires her father's return, but Salawell urges her to forsake him for betraying the kingdom. In battle, Claugh uses magic to force surrender, causing conflict with Lady Ehn's pacifist views. Salawell manipulates the nobles against Noa's wishes, putting her in a difficult position.
As conflict escalates, Roland forces arrive, complicating the situation. Salawell's true intentions are revealed as he plans to use Noa as a scapegoat. Miran, the mastermind behind the revolt, clarifies his motivations and saves Noa from Salawell's treachery. Noa negotiates with Roland for the survival of her people, showing her selflessness and bravery. Ultimately, a tense confrontation between Claugh and Miran is resolved with Noa's intervention, leading to a plan to spare the survivors and ensure a peaceful resolution. Lady Noa Ehn enters the room admiring the four characters' relationship. Sion greets her in the castle, and Claugh receives her warmly. They tease Claugh about his feelings for Noa.
Despite interruptions, Noa arranges to have dinner with Claugh, and they sneak away with Sion's approval. Late at night in the Roland Empire Reception Hall, Claugh and Noa wrap up their date. Claugh frets over being late, but Noa is understanding. Claugh jokes about women being strict, surprising Noa with his insight. Noa appreciates the evening, especially stargazing with Claugh. Suddenly, Noa finds the manor under attack, but remains silent to protect the hostages. Claugh hears her distress and rushes to her aid, saving her from harm. The attackers invoke Izuchi before Claugh defeats them.
So yeah, Claugh saved her twice and (spoilers) they have fourteen children by the end of it. All in good time; Claugh would put his life on the line for Lady Noa and whatever trouble she's in!
Tumblr media
Example 3: Superheroes, Love Lives and Secret Identities
The fascinating world of superheroes! Superheroes are iconic characters who possess extraordinary abilities, skills, or powers that they use to protect the public and fight against evil. Romantic relationships add depth and complexity to superhero stories. These relationships often create tension between personal life and superhero duties. Many superheroes maintain secret identities to protect loved ones and keep their personal lives separate from their heroic endeavors.
Take Peter Parker/Spider-Man for instance, he struggles to maintain his superhero duties with his normal life. Same with Tony Stark/Iron Man, Clark Kent/Superman, Logan/Wolverine and many others share the same thing. With that being said; it can be complicated to let your loved ones know about your superhero double life, saving the world and all that jazz but if you have someone like Lois Lane, Mary Jane Watson or Steve Trevor then it's likely you got yourself a good partner.
Tumblr media
So in conclusion; the inherent dangers of relationships, particularly in the context of individuals with high-stakes lives, such as superheroes and characters in fantasy narratives. While love can bring joy, it also exposes loved ones to significant risks, highlighting the complexities and challenges that arise when personal connections intersect with perilous circumstances.
