Father!Dick Grayson who picks you up after school with his bike, trying to be stubborn and not go to mcdonald‘s with you. Fails eventually, getting to the drive through and buying you a happy meal… getting himself chicken nuggets and a milkshake.

Father!Dick Grayson who tries to get you into his taste of music too, playing the top rock hits from the 70‘s to early 2000‘s, singing along really loudly from time to time. Led Zeppelin and ABBA seem to be he two most listened bands and you know every song by name too; because of no other than him.

Father!Dick Grayson who lets you experiment on his hair, letting you give him crazy hairstyles and gel it a certain (funny) way. He forgot to undo it one time and came to patrol with three high pigtails in his hair, fully confused on why everyone seems very amused.

Father!Dick Grayson who cries one time because you accidentally cut one strand of his hair when messing around.

Father!Dick Grayson who makes the best birthday parties you can imagine, even humiliating himself in a clown costume just to hear the giggles from you and your friends. He doesn‘t try and bake though, secretly ordering a cake from Alfred with extra chocolate.

Father!Dick Grayson who tries to make the same birthday parties when you‘re a teenager and only gets very honest feedback in return. Eventually decides to just let it be and let you decide how your big day will plan out.

Father!Dick Grayson who likes to go on walks with you and Haley. (Haley likes to sleep on you when you are sick and will growl at Dick when he gets close, because she thinks he wants to take her away from you)

Father!Dick Grayson who won‘t let you be involved into the vigilante life, wanting a normal life for you. Even gives Barbara the task to make sure you won‘t get any rebellious ideas and sneak out, just to play hero and patrol like him.

I use words I dont know the meaning to but they sound right to use and my friends have agreed that "Idk what it means but it sounds nice and right when you use it".

That is so Batkids coded. Batman and Agent A and Oracle know every word in a dictionary, Robin and Red Hood are very close, but the rest of them? Not even.

Tim's a high school drop out.

Dick's a college drop out.

Cass never went to school.

Duke probably skipped school a lot till he became a Wayne.

Steph doesn't focus on her studies.

So they only know context clues and "if it sounds right, it is right."

Example:

Dick: Imagine being predisposed to having diabetes in the future *shoving a dozen sugar filled donuts in his mouth like a true cop* I dont know what that word means

Tim: Me neither, but it sounds about right.

Duke: That's a rambunctious amount of sugar for someone predisposed to have diabetes

Book Shop Nanny

It was too nice of a day in Gotham to pass up sitting in the park. So, you packed up a little basket of food, a picnic blanket, and some toys, and rounded up the brood of children to force them into a day of outside activities. They all were enthusiastic about it, in reality, and even Mr. Wayne decided to join you. 

Now, you were sat between Damian, who was getting a bit sleepy already, and Mr. Wayne, who looked too pale in proper lighting. The rest of the kids, save for Dick, were running about playing a sham game of badminton. You watched them happily, your heart leaping with every childish giggle or joke. Then, you noticed the eldest Wayne boy sitting across from you.

Dick was torn between paying attention to the group and a fine pair of brown eyes not too far away. You looked to where his eyes were to see a young redheaded girl sitting on a blanket with some friends, giggling away. Like you, they were having a picnic.

Smiling, you said, “You should go talk to her.”

“What?” Dick said. 

Bruce glanced down at you, now focusing on the conversation right next to him. He didn’t say anything but listened as you said, “I see you staring at her, Dickie. Just go say hi.”

Looking over his shoulder, Bruce saw Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Jim Gordon’s daughter, sitting with her friends. Dick stumbled over his words, eventually getting out that it wasn’t really an option for him to go up and just talk to her. 

“Do you know her?” You asked. When Dick nodded yes, you added, “Then it shouldn’t be a problem. Just go up and say you saw her over there and wanted to say hi.”

The boy seemed a little more interested now. “What if she really doesn’t want to see me?”

“Then get the hint and leave her alone. You’re making this too complicated.”

“What do I say?” Dick said. 

Bruce was going to give some advice at that point, just to seem like a parent, but you were quick with a response. “After you say hi, ask her what she’s up to today. Just ask her about herself. People love talking about themselves.” You took a moment to yell to Jason not to be so rough with Tim and Duke before going on. “For instance, if someone asked me about my books, I’d never shut up.”

“But…” Dick paused to think. “Well, okay, I guess.” 

Slowly, the boy got up and made his way over to Barbara’s group. She smiled upon seeing him approach and immediately invited him to join. Smiling, you told Mr. Wayne that you knew everything would turn out. 

After a few minutes of silence, Bruce finally asked, “I never took you as much of a reader.”

“Oh, yeah,” You said with a bright smile. “I would say I read about as much as Jason, but I think he might have me beat.”

Bruce chuckled. “If reading ever becomes a job, I think Jay would be ten times richer than me...You’re always welcome to the books in the library at home, you know.”

You smiled kindly at Mr. Wayne. “I do now. Thank you.”

“Well, I think a majority of them are law and medical books, but it never hurts to brush up on your STEM knowledge.”

You laughed a little and adjusted Damian on your lap. “Oh, I’d say the books I read are a little medical.”

“What do you read then?”

You smiled before turning back to the kids, and he began to wonder if what you said had a little mischievous double meaning. Bruce stared at you, trying to find something to say, either about books or just about you, but couldn’t find the right question. Finally, he settled on just suggesting that, after the park, maybe they could all go to the bookstore. You agreed heavily, thinking that Jason and the rest of the kids would enjoy it. 

“You can get something, too, if you like,” Bruce offered. “I think we can fit it into the budget.”

You laughed a little too hard at the joke, not having anticipated it from Mr. Wayne of all people. “I mean, if we can squeeze two pennies together then why not!”

“But, you do want to go?”

“Of course, I’d do anything for a free book,” You said with a playful wink. 

Bruce chuckled as he looked back at his kids, thinking that just maybe there was a bit of weight in your advice.

Halloween Batfam headcannons!! Pt1.

- Dick and Barbara probably did a matching couples costume. Depending on who chose the costume it can very from something very cute like Barbie and Ken to something really silly like Blues Clues

-Tim tried to do a group costume with young justice- key words TRIED. There was a mixup in the group chat and they all went as something insanely different

-Jason either doesn’t dress up at all or goes ALL out. There is no in between.

-Damian wanted to just stay inside and skip Halloween but his friends wouldn’t let him and they all ended up going as characters from Winnie the Pooh (he was Eyore)

-Alfred helped make everyone’s costumes and made sure to take plenty of pictures

-Jason ALSO took many pictures but for blackmail.

-Bruce and Selina went as Batman and Catwoman except Bruce was Catwoman and Selina was Batman

-Bruce an Selina watched movies together and handed out candy

-Tim went to a Halloween party but got overwhelmed the first ten minutes and left

-Conner got hammered at said Halloween party

humanising the batfam with things a lot of people do/struggle with pt2

tw for talk of sexual violence, catcalling and car accidents

after an accident in the batmobile in his teen years, dick finds his difficult to wear a seatbelt. he has to be reminded to put it on. in said accident he was trapped inside of the car by his seatbelt, and it still terrifies him to this day.

damian can’t sleep in the dark anymore. the hallway light is left on for him, with his door open just a crack, to let light into his bedroom every night. bruce installed a failsafe so that it automatically turns on at 8pm and stays on until 8am. (i know this is supposed to be realistic but i couldn’t help myself that’s sweet)

stephanie, cass,and barbara, all struggle with general patriarchal society bullshit. they’re hit on, constantly, even when they’re kids. constantly threatened with sexual violence by random thugs and always seen as weaker or less able than everyone else around them.

tim and damian both go nonverbal. they both know sign language, for cass’ sake, but they obviously both get frustrated by it. it scared damian when it first happened and it hurt for him to talk, he insisted his mother had somehow plotted this against him for not attending a meeting with her; dick had to talk him down from it.

dick has to sleep with his curtains pinned shut. too many years of robin trauma for him to, in his words, “risk it”

jason has tried everything, every method under the sun, every life hack, everything, to get rid of his scarring. on his back, on his face, his arms. but it won’t go away. during the summer months, he’s still always in full body clothing, with everywhere covered.

Plotting out "Esper" (Disney Movie)

Background

Given the popularity of book adaptations and the cultural impact when done right, a pitch for "The Chronicles of Narnia" makes it's way to Disney's desk. When trying to figure out how to adapt a seven book series, the production hits a snag, with some arguing that lesser-known books in the series, such as "The Horse and His Boy," "The Magician's Nephew," and "The Silver Chair," were better ideas to adapt due to none of them having adaptations that became fixtures in pop culture like the other books involving the Pevensie siblings. However, on the opposing side, there is the concern that adapting a better-known story would get more people to go see it, as well as the fact that the familiar stories have been adapted often enough for creative liberties to be expected. The film experiences significant production delays and creative issues, and Disney almost cancels the film before a case being made for an original story that takes influence from the Narnia series without taking place in it. Running low on time, Disney agrees to this, and essentially starts the project from scratch. While originally eying a team made of Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, Burton left the project when Disney argued for the use of 3D rather than stop-motion or even 2D, and they decided they wouldn't use Danny Elfman. Instead they brought on Rob Marshall to direct the film after his work on "The Little Mermaid," with Noel Carey and Julia Mattinson as the musical team and Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay. Inheriting a "damaged product," they take several elements from the (Chronologically) 1st and 6th books in the Narnia series, though the plot is largely original, taking influence from 1980s and 1990s dark fantasy films (particularly "Labyrinth") as well as the works of Guillermo del Toro and Hayao Miyazaki. While 2D animation is originally planned, they instead decide to make it 3D, and remove several story aspects to keep the plot from being too long and straying from the prime directive, including the main character having a love interest (though it's hinted at).

Plot

Viconeia has fallen to the Ruined Queen, who rules the land through a puppet head of state. She dominates the land with her undead army and wields arcane magic the likes of which no one has ever seen. The previous king and queen of the land have perished, and all hope is lost until a young maiden at the edge of the country realizes she is the only child of the beloved monarchs. Armed with their blessings to her, she sets out to raise her own army in a bid to eradicate the evil that has gripped a hold on her kingdom.

Characters

(As usual, this is not a comprehensive list of characters by any stretch of the imagination, but the main players you need to know. The images below would serve as inspiration for the characters' designs and/or personalities)

Esper--Raised by the daughter of farmers, she discovers that she is the crown princess of the conquered Kingdom of Viconeia, and a letter from her biological father bestows her with a quest to wrangle the kingdom back from the Ruined Queen who reigns over the land. Armed with the the late king and queen's sword and bow, she journeys to find allies who will destroy the queen and restore peace to Viconeia (with her pet ermine in tow). Gifted with a powerful voice that she often used for singing, she finds it can become a sonic screech that can devastate her enemies, but also her allies. This, tied with her rose-red hair, makes her stand out significantly. While originally fearful of her destiny and facing the Ruined Queen, she soon gains a confidence (and justified fury) that propels her forward. Eventually she comes across the Crown of Ruin, a discarded artifact of the queen's that allows her to talk to the spirits of the land, and they help to guide her to victory.

Chalcedon--The prince of Viconeia, he is in reality a puppet ruler of the Ruined Queen, frequently brainwashed by her to be her slave. He's used to calm the masses, who would not submit to the Ruined Queen easily, and she's fine ruling through someone, though another reason she cannot kill him is because he holds sacred bold that, should she try to end his life, would permanently damage her. It's revealed that he's the sole survivor of a kingdom the Ruined Queen had conquered years earlier. Since it was less prosperous than Viconeia, she destroyed everyone but the prince himself. Once freed from her control, his mind is somewhat damaged, making him somewhat calm and playful, becoming a neutral party who occasionally assists Esper (though it's implied that he may just be pretending to be broken, and that it's his magic that's been affected, making him want to distance himself from others to protect them).

The Ruined Queen--Queen of Viconeia in all but name, she originated from a land on the other side of the world, a kingdom that had seen ruin long ago after she waged war for power. When she lost, she used forbidden magic to end the lives of everyone in the kingdom, except herself. She did a similar spell in Chalcedon's kingdom, but used necromany to conquer Viconeia, since the power of mass destruction is quite taxing. Beautiful and cold, she is prone to fly into a senseless rage when things do not go her way at the drop of a hat, and is extremely agile, making it difficult for anyone to defeat her, even if they find a way to cut off her magical power.

Once Upon a Time--A story of how Viconeia was formed, and how it was a blessed kingdom ruled by King Inier and Queen Redalta, when the Ruined Queen appeared and used an army of the dead to slaughter many in the kingdom, including the beloved king and queen. Their daughter was hidden away and sent to the far reaches of the land and raised in ignorance of her heritage until one day she was to realize her destiny.

Infinite Possibilities--For the first time in her quest, Esper questions what she'll do when the Ruined Queen is depowered. What kind of queen would she be, and would she want to be queen? The last question hardly matters, as the people are rallied behind her, and handing the crown to someone else not only undermines the divinely appointed institution, but makes light of the people's support of her. Perhaps there aren't infinite possibilities, after all.

I Had It--Also known as the queen's reprise of OUAT, she sings about the kingdom she should've had, and that no land has been worthy of her like the kingdom she was once part of. She grows bored with Decim, as it is in improvement over previous kingdoms, but lacks the true splendor hers once had. As Esper is a thorn in her side, she goes about destroying the kingdom piece by piece. She didn't want the kingdom anyway, but if someone wants to take it from her, she'll leave nothing for them to take.

Light and Paint--Sometimes called the prince's reprise of OUAT. When Chalcedon is captured and removed from the queen's reaches, he slowly regians his mind, and recalls a time when he was very young. He remembers everyone being happy and peaceful, living in a large royal family where he was not expected to do much aside from live in luxury, until the Ruined Queen invaded. For a long time, he could only recall enough to think that he saw fireworks and his mother spilling paint on herself that night, only to realize now that he saw flame-lit arrows reigning down on his kingdom and his mother bleeding from an attack.

Ashes to Ashes--The queen makes good on her promise to take everything from Esper, and for once in a long time, she leaves the kingdom's capitol and sets ablaze the home fo the farmers who raised her, and sends her wolves to chase them down and bring back their carcasses to her. Esper is horrified by the prices she's had to pay for a fate thrust upon her, and she is reminded that facing evil is a circumstance almost every monarch must face.

Something to Remember Me By--When initially defeated by the Ruined Queen, Esper breaks down, worried that she has led her people to certain death and even worse. In her darkest hour, the spirits of the king and queen come alive to comfort her, and remind her that every day is a chance to improve, that for every dusk, there is a dawn, and that whether she is a princess or a farmer's daughter, she will always be beloved.

Against All Odds--With the Ruined Queen and her army defeated, Esper is crowned the queen of Viconeia by the survivors of the kingdom. Chalcedon, with nothing and no one to return to, stays to help the kingdom rebuild, and Esper insists he is still referred to as a prince, even if his kingdom is no more. The celebration for the end of the nightmare goes on until dawn, when Esper takes a deep breath and exhales, finally able to breath easy for the first time in her life.
