Solstice is an important night, the longest of the entire year. It's a time of cheer, anticipation, the Planet making her final round before the days will start getting longer again, so they stay up through the entire night to wait for sunrise.

It was also something of a trial, a last hurrah, at least in Nibelheim. Families all together bundled in the same house, making enough merry to forget the raging cold and the preying wolves. To see each other through and, failing that, see each other for the last time.

If you made it through the longest dark, then you were ready to survive the rest of them.

Can we talk about Reeve? He's so funny. He hates his job, he hates his coworkers, he hates his boss. This ragtag group comes along and he's like "friends!" and tries to sacrifice the Turks because he's afraid of losing them. He needs a vacation

Great observation. They are a unity, each of them has a certain purpose.

A cog in a machine, if one part is missing, the whole thing isn't working anymore. Which basically means they can't really exist without each other.

The OG tag is interesting...cause I never got the feeling that Biggs was the leader of their trio. He was the strategist and thinker but not deciding on things.

Rebirth emphasized that too.

Biggs trying to bomb the reactor but it not working because there's no Jessie to build the bomb and him getting caught and killed because there's no Wedge to keep watch....
