Hey Cecil! Using the genocide in Gaza to scam money off of people when it could be going to people who are in real need is disgusting. Spamming asks and linking your paypal with your government name on it is extra embarrassing.

remember to look out for usernames that consist of two or three random english words, no verification or vetting from other palestinians, and the original poster doesnt mention any of them in their post to get their attention. please check out @el-shab-hussein ‘s account for real and trusted fundraisers to share and donate to.

thank you anon. there are a couple things i use to try and see if something looks legitimate when it comes through my ask box because I don't mind helping but there has been so many scams coming through there I might just stop posting any that come through. there are several indicators that this is a SCAM:

- No pictures or name on the account

- Account only became active last week

- Requesting donations to Paypal (which Palestinians cannot use)

- When asked for more pictures, they sent me images that can easily be found elsewhere online.

there are a LOT of people out there using the tragedy in Palestine for their own personal gain, and it’s fucking disgusting. PLEASE throughly research anyone you plan to donate to.

This scam has also been spotted with at least two other usernames according to this post and its replies. The usernames were uniquehologramwasteland and swagvoidreview. One asked for 950 and the other also asked for 450

I believe this person may be using the part where someone is in need of medication to get this supposed price because the gofundme is seeking to evacuate family members

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i keep falling for these. i tried to investigate but their reblogs seemed varietied and i know a lot of people pin their donation posts and i dont know enough about paypal to know whats up. does anyone have any more tips?

Had someone named @/atomicsmart hit me up about donations and it looks like a recent account. Screamed scam to me—could you maybe verify? Tried doing a search of them on scam buster accounts + verified Palestinian master posts but couldn’t find anything conclusive. Newness and vague story made me think it’s one fwiw
