every time I re read GtN I am caught off guard by how serious it is

Like, Gideon spends the first few pages checking everywhere for possibilities for Harrow's skeletons to ambush her. And then she nonchalantly tells Aiglamene that Harrow would do literally anything to hurt her.

You don't really notice it the first time around because of the lighthearted way it's written, but when you know the context for all of it, it becomes uncomfortably clear how intense and dangerous the situation is that Gideon tries so thoroughly to avoid here.

like, pleasure looks such a specific way on satoru. we can see it in the tojigo fight, the hanami/jogo fight and the sukugo fight. they're the only moments where we truly get to see raw pleasure on him and it's that. eyes popping out and manic grin and laughter bubbling in his torso and body charged, and mannerisms especially crude.

there's something so animalistic about it, his "human" mask slipping from him and showing him in all his monstrous glory, unfiltered and raw and like the freak of nature he truly is

and it's exactly the same thing when it comes to sex. it's all pleasure after all.

yeah i know what's up with mouthwashing now. I get the hype the story was really good.

have some thoughts so, spoilers for the game under the cut if you haven't played or seen it yet.

The OCs/sonas for workers is really funny though because a part of Daisuke's character is that, in the case of any reason they'd need to use them, there's only 4 cryostasis pods. but you guys are like "hmmm but what if there was only 4 cryostasus pods for 6 people? 🤔" which is funny to me. not a gripe or anything just funny to think about.

But that made me think of how Daisuke coming on as an intern in last minute placement was 1) part of the half assed job PonyExpress does with it's safety measures. and 2) part of Curly's character of taking chances on people even if that's NOT a good idea. because that's probably part of why he was friends with Jimmy so long and ended up actually enabling a lot of his shit head behavior (and trying to lessen the impact of what he did to Anya while they still had a long trip to take). like man the character dynamics and what brought everyone here to be a part of the shitshow was really well written.

the original idea for making a mouthwashing post is this though: I can make the whole thing very slightly even worse. "how?" you ask, "why?" you ask. well because i'm evil-ca-neevil like that. but specifically, Curly's hearing is deffinitely affected by the accident, his ears are as good as gone under the bandages on his head, because if his nose didn't really make, there's no way the ears did. but, what if on top of that, his eardrumbs burst. what if, for the entire time after the crash, he couldn't hear anything that happened around him; and was only really aware of whoever was in the medbay? he'd just have the way people's faces appear when they look at them or each other. if they say anything to him he'd have no clue unless they were looking at him while doing it. and I'd bet he's shit at lip reading.

the scene of the mock birthday party that Jimmy put together and put him on the table would be even worse. because that would be the only confirmation that everyone else is dead (he'd know Anya's death.

like, if he can hear, then the proximity between the scene where Daisuke is injured and the medbay would give him some of that, as well as whatever we miss between Swansea and Jimmy after the fact. but without being able to hear anything. he doesn't even get to have thoughts and opinions about how everything's happening. he can only, truly, watch. and not very well at that.

ive been thinking a lot abt how to characterize spite, reconciling the literal/definitional meaning of spite with how he acts and expresses himself in game, which seems pretty agreeable for a demon of any kind. i think for one thing the pettiness aspect of the definition of spite is important, bc he never rly rises to anything truly harmful, but also ive been thinking maybe he could more specifically be called a demon/spirit of ‘in spite of’? which is probably how the word is most commonly used and is imo a little different, more reactive than aggressive. bc it’s not an omnidirectional petty malice really, it seems mostly to crop up when he’s refused something or told/expected to do something (‘oh they want me to take control of this body and become an abomination? well now im not going to >:|’ )

would love to hear from people and especially people trying to write spite as a character how you conceptualize him 🤔

Regris and Adam end up living, they also end up meeting. They're sorta on their own so they decide to team up, at least for now. Regris is trying to get back to the blades and Adam is trying to get back to earth. But for now, all they have is each other.

They spend a few months/years together before they end up finding the Atlas. Due to their time spent together, they kinda become protective of each other. Their relationship is that of a parent and a child. So yk, there's that extra bond. They end up on the Atlas, reunions happen and now the two got what they originally wanted. Now the only issue is, they're both incredibly attached to each other.

For example when Adam fell asleep in Shiros and Curtis' shared room, he fell into a deep sleep. Like he would not wake up, so naturally Regris panicked and immediately went straight to Shiro and Curtis. Shiro and Curtis were able to wake up Adam, not that he stayed up long but still, just to show Regris that Adam is still alive. This causes Adam to only make room for Regris and open his arms before saying, "Come here baby." in a the typical parental tone mixed with sleep.

Everyone else sees the issue and are trying to find a solution. The blades don't want to leave Regris alone on an unfamiliar planet. The atlas doesn't want to leave Adam alone with a bunch of unfamiliar aliens. They're struggling while Adam and Regris are sorta just doing their thing.
