SO. this ask reminded me of an old fic idea i had and i got super invested in it, so have TWO sketches, actually <3 and potentially more to come if i decide to come back to this idea. to sum it up quickly; shockwave cloned ravage after the original ravage died, and thus, baby ravage was made! ravage part 2, if you will. ravage junior.

Chief Medical Officer or CMO is something of a title for the executive position of the medic who oversees the entire (Autobot) army or even planet rather than used as a title for the lead medic of every base or ship.

When Ratchet decides to join the Lost Light, Bumblebee and Ratchet’s conversation says that Ratchet’s held the position of CMO for millions of years and it involves taking care of the Primes, implying that pre-war it was the highest/most prestigious position in medicine.

When he decides to retire he is specifically looking for someone to fill that position, he’s not looking for someone to just take charge of the medbay in the Lost Light but someone who is good enough to take on the role to cover ALL cybertronians, or at least the Autobots.

Its also why he originally was going to choose Pharma, he thought Pharma was skilled enough to take over that role.

So when First Aid becomes CMO,

he’s not just in charge of the Lost Light medbay, he’s to be the top doctor of the entire Autobot army, arguably even the entire planet.
