What you actually mean:
If Astruc can churn out 5 seasons and end off with this, I’ll be on a National bestsellers in 3 months.
I don’t, writing original content is hard. (I’m still on chapter 3 of my original works because I’m trying to write a good flow)
The ending left some gaps that I want to fill them with some points I think would be better thanks to hindsight.
I really think Astruc and the writing team thought that the ending they planned fit but failed to grasp that the actions didn’t match the intent. And sometimes that happens.

TBH what I really hate about the way Thomas Astruc speaks about MLB is the fact he sounds like a fanfic writer who is dedicated to canon compliance AND NOT as the person who WRITES THE ACTUAL SHOW!
It makes sense for a very canon compliant fanfic author to be very on top of it about keeping character consistency, they want to be loyal to the original, they don't want to rock the boat too much, when you're the person WRITING THE STORY you can do anything you want! Does a character realistic WOULDN'T CHANGE? Well, sir, good news: You are in charge of reality! You can alter literally ALL the circumstances around them! With the magic of writing, you change the world--
Literally-- Like, literally the whole world
Just admit you don't want to...
Why not say: "This character won't change because I PREFER the way it is, its better for the story *I* want to tell, and this is MY story to tell!" because, you know what? It IS YOUR story, IT IS yours to tell! That is fine!
Several writers got flack for the choices they made with their characters (specially the endings tbh)! Louisa May Alcott, K.A. Applegate, (sometimes by accident, like in Douglas Adam's case, whose last Hitchhiker's book was a real downer, even he admitted he was depressed when he wrote it, but he sadly passed away before he could write another one) even Joane KR, all of them did things to their stories the fans did NOT LIKE, from redeeming people the fans felt did not deserve it, to giving sad endings to certain characters, to not giving them their seemingly obvious ship, but they OWNED IT!
Just say it... Just say you don't want to do it, its okay

Due to the show decided to give Marinette the most red flag similarities with Gabriel while never addressing them as bad things, combined with how she now knows she can easily take away Adrien's autonomy at a moment's notice, I'm very concerned on what would happen if Adrien ever wants to break up with her while she doesn't.
Bold of you to assume Marinette didn't give a secret order preventing him from trying to break up with her unless she gets tired of him.
...
God, I'm awful.

My argument for why Marinette should be taller than Adrien and Astruc is a coward!
Marinette being taller just fits her vibe. Like she's meant to be a weird, awkward, clumsy girl. So her being tall and a bit lanky and awkward-looking would fit.
Marinette being tall would make her look a bit more like her parents. She has her mother's general body proportions but has suddenly gained a lot more height like her father.
Another thing for Mari to be bullied for. Middle to Early-High School kids are ruthless and would 100% bully Marinette and ostracize her for being taller than average. At least season 1 and before Chloe would.
Having Marinette bulk up and fill out a bit as Ladybug would both give her a bit more of a disguise, but also make her more imposing as a superhero.
Astruc makes a big thing of female empowerment in this show, so subverting the trope of a small girl and larger boy is a good way to do that.
The target audience of middle school kids, especially girls, will be hitting early puberty and probably getting growth spurts of their own. Which tends to make some girls become notably taller than their peers, even the boys around them. So showing your MC as someone who looks like these girls and showing that Marinette is still lovable and admirable not in spite of her body but because of it, along with very clearly showing being bullied for your body is not right is a good message to send to these kids.
Adrien being smaller than average both makes him less of a typical protagonist, and also can be a subtle reference to the real-life issue of child stars being forcefully underfed to keep the same consistent youthful look even as puberty hits. So even if they don't wanna call it out, it would just be an interesting touch and make Gabriel seem all the more evil.
Chat Noir being the tiny acrobat with Ladybug as the larger and stronger fighter is also similarly subverting tropes and just makes them more distinct rather than them both fighting very similarly besides weapons.
I don't really know. It's just an idea. I don't personally care for heavily subverting tropes just for the pride of subverting them. But I know Astruc does. I just think he wasted the chance for tall Marinette and pocket-sized Adrien.

He's basically telling us that 95% of what we watched for the past 8 years was a total waste of time and could've been used for character development.

So, apparently, an adult supervillain whose been terrorizing a city for years, rarely actually shows remorse for his actions and is also a neglectful and controlling parent because of the “death” of his wife is “sympathetic” and “redeemable”
but a teenage girl whose a bully because she has an abusive mother who constantly belittled her and can’t even remember her own name that she so desperately wants the approval of and a father who just spoils her to death, who showed remorse for her actions at times and was actually on the road to changing and becoming a better person after becoming a superhero before it was taken all away from her at the last second is “irredeemable” and “absolutely evil”.
Thomas Astruc’s logic is absolutely ridiculous.

Watching videos commenting on miracolous episodes talking about racism is interesting (Especially when I'm older than when I watched them + I'm European, specifically Polish)
Note, if you are outraged by Chloe's defense, I'm sorry, but Europe and the US don't really have the same approach (Which can be frustrating for non-white Europeans)
First of all, the text about sushi… Sushi was created in China and then came to Japan, which means that this particular text by Chloe is not entirely racist, I know, shocking, but Thomas didn't do his homework before writing the episode, so it came out strangely
Tumblr media
As for Chloe confusing a Chinese with a Japanese, unfortunately I have an explanation, it is related to the fact that in Europe they speak collectively, i.e. "Asian", so yes, if we assume that Chloe only dealt with Japanese, and not Chinese, it was unconsciously confuses them with each other (I remind you, this is Europe, not the USA, here the topic of racism is more complicated), anyway, I don't believe that she's the only one who confuses Asians with each other, because we're talking about Europe, where such confusion is more "Normal" (however it sounds), why is she the only one? Why don't any adults do this? This is unrealistic and distorts the reality in Europe
Besides, the very fact that the series is written by a Frenchman who has no clue about racism says a lot, hello, you live in a country where Muslims are persecuted (There is a ban on wearing hijabs), so what more can I say about all this?
Tumblr media
It's unrealistic that only Chloe confuses a Chinese and a Japanese with each other, older generations should also have a problem with it, because the action takes place in Europe, not in the USA, plus, older generations are more racist than the younger ones (Because the younger ones have access to for information), so it doesn't make sense that none of the adults are racist, Thomas, do you know what country you live in?
So yes, taking the action in France, i.e. Europe, in practice made Chloe's racism seem even more strange, because they could make it seem that she is not the only person in the whole country who has a problem with it, but it is known that Thomas Astruc prefers to pretend, that in his country and in the whole of Europe racism does not happen (And only a white fourteen-year-old child is the only racist… Yes, it sounds bad)
Europe is not the USA, you could have searched the Internet for information about current acts of racism in your country or Europe itself to present them in your series, but you decided to do something that makes no sense because of the place of action which is France, it looks so unrealistic, when you are European and you know the approach of people from Europe, antagonizing Chloe for racism when she is a fourteen-year-old living in Europe (where such racism is more common, because it is not the USA), to punish her for… As a European, she does not have an attitude like Americans and she took bad examples from adult Europeans
Thomas' attitude towards Chloe is even worse for this reason, he forgets that children are not born racist, they acquire this through adults, the Internet and other media (Like the news), throwing Chloe on the pile for being racist is harmful, yes, we should talk about racism and fight it, but hate a child for being a racist, because adults taught her that? A child's mind is still developing, it shouldn't be done, educating children is necessary, so Thomas, you fucked up the whole series
As a European, I have more reason to criticize this series for how it ignores the very topic of racism in Europe in order to antagonize a child (Fictional, but a child), if you want to show racism, then use information about it, not create worse versions of racism from the 70s -those from America
I had to describe it because it's frustrating how Americans hate Chloe for racism and they have no idea what it looks like in Europe, instead of bashing Thomas for showing racism in such an unrealistic way, they attack a fourteen-year-old cartoon girl, it's fucked up on many levels
Thomas doesn't know anything about racism, especially in Europe, if he did, only Adrien and Marinette would know it's racism, and the adults, including Chloe, wouldn't see it as a problem because they're fucking adult Europeans and we have unrealistic shit that pretends to be that it is progressive because it talks about racism, but the truth is that there is nothing there, no realism in this topic (Compare to US productions from the 70's, even they did it better…), this episode would be better if it showed real racism, and not the one just to show how stupid Chloe is -_-
Yes, I had to get this out of the way because a lot of people in the fandom are Americans and they look at Chloe from an American perspective, the problem is that Chloe is not American, she is French and that changes the perspective, yes, racism is bad, but remember that in Europe operates on different levels and Thomas Astruc presented it so badly that if you are from Europe, you it hurts

Vivziepop Is The Female Thomas Astruc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seriously, these two have so much in common and it's obvious that Vivziepop has gone down the same road as him which is a creator who is overtly sensitive to criticism and reveals themselves to be an immature manchild who snipes back at critics in the worst way possible.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One big thing I noticed is they have hate sink characters who had great potential to be more interesting, but refused to do anything with them because they want to hammer in a theme with them some people are just plain bad but as a result they become really bland villains who come off as just causing misery for the sake of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing I noticed both have had dip in qualities after their promising first season. They were given praise in their first season but fans noticed by second season the flaws of the shows, especially when it came to the romance and characterization. Plot premises are repeated to an obnoxious degree and characters get more and more flanderized to the point they almost seem a parody of their first season characterization.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also the biggest thing that seems to really be an issue is the romance. With Ladybug, romance was always the focus but it's the fact that it strangles the plot makes it a problem. In Helluvaboss, it wasn't originally going to be about romance but just running a business to assassinating people in the living world. Never or less, both romances have shown to get more toxic as they strangle the show from being interesting or bringing any good characterization.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also think the biggest things against these shows is the fact that they both feel like they have no direction due the poor writing qualities that their creators have. I also think it ties back to them not listening to anything that could improve themselves, but instead double down on trying to look right and as a result looking foolish for their efforts.

The fact Gabriel a child abuser, that took part in a murder(Shanghai special), almost murdered an entire family small children included(Senti bubbler), threatened to start World War 3 (new york) and has been terrorizing Paris for over a year not only gets a statute and hailed as a hero but has all of his crimes buried by one of the heroes meanwhile Chloe a child that has done far less than him not only gets treated like the devil incarnated but is sent off to live with her abuser as a 'just' punishment is quite frankly disturbing

It’s just so bizarre that Thomas really wants us to care more about a school bully traumatizing Marinette than a full grown gaslighting butterfly adult terrorist who basically FORCED her into the hero role, just because he was a sawd babu who wanted his wifiey back…by manipulating everybody’s emotions and taking an advantage of them. That especially included children and his OWN SON.

Marinette and Adrien getting together romantically was inevitable to me, so I was content sitting back and enjoying the guilty pleasure ride.
The journey turned out so long and unpleasant that I felt nothing when they finally kissed for real.
It's almost like prolonging a romantic plotline well after its shelf life is a bad thing.

I'm trying so, so hard to not be a little salty about recent ml episodes cause I really do truly enjoy the show, but there's still just the nitpick of how Thomas treats Chloe like she's the worst person on the show, but then excuses the behavior of Andre Bourgeois, a notable enabler of Chloe's behavior.
I keep thinking I'm over Chloe's murdered redemption arc. I know that ship has long since sailed, but then we have an episode centered around Zoe or a flashback to Marinette's past out of nowhere which kinds just rubs it in our faces that, yeah, Chloe is supposed to be the absolute worst. And it annoys me.
Chloe is a child. An actual child and Andre spoiled her constantly, giving in to all of her (utterly) ridiculous demands no matter how outlandish or terrible it was. He constantly abused his power as mayor of the city. And you want me to believe that he, as Chloe's parent, had no control over any of that? That he did it cause he's blinded by his love? That he's a sympathetic character who is abused by both his wife and his daughter? And that he's actually a "good guy" who can be a "good father" as long as he has a kid who isn't a piece of shit?
No. I refuse. I actively refuse. He should've long since disciplined Chloe, being her only present parent. He had every chance for 14 years to be a good parent and he wasn't. Part of being a parent is teaching right and wrong and he did not. He is the primary reason Chloe is the way she is, not just her mom.
It's just so dumb. Why is the worst person on the planet a 14 year old girl when there is a person around her who actively nurtured her personality? But then that same person is narratively supposed to be the victim? HES AN ADULT WHO HAD A RESPONSIBILITY THAT HE NEGLECTED, HE SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED AS SUCH.

Watching London Special's trailer be like:
Tumblr media
Like, you can have opinion on NY, Shanghai, and Paris special, but at minimum they presented something new which fits their position as special.
London special doesn't seem to be planning on giving us any of that, but instead pull another Derision that, instead of acknowledging it as either a good thing, bad thing, or ambiguous, they wanted to justify it to spite us.
And to make it worse, it seems that this special is kinda necessary to start off S6, which defeats the whole reason of a special. If you need to watch something outside of the main story to understand it, then you already failed at its concept.
