Im kinda sad how a lot of AC fanfics don’t have Connor play as big of a role as I feel he should. On top of that almost all of them discard Connor’s fighting style for Ezio’s or Altair’s (I haven’t come across one yet that have Haytham’s fighting style 😢). Anyway, kinda just ranting cause it would be so awesome for Desmond to travel back to like Ezio’s or Altair’s era but have Connor’s axe style. Just a thought. But like that would be sick as hell. 🤌🤌

Because, even aside from how loathsome Johnny Depp is as a person, I've grown really tired of how pirate media, at least in film, is now COMPLETELY dominated by PotC for the last two+ decades (kind of like how dinosaur films is now basically just Jurassic Park/World).

TV has Black Sails and Our Flag Means Death, but sadly neither has the same pop culture clout.

And, I certainly have my issues with how piracy is whitewashed and romanticized in a lot of media, because a lot of pirates were flat-out r*pists and slavers and war criminals. But there are some really interesting and relevant stories to tell. And not just Carribean pirates, either (bless OFMD for giving Zheng Yi Sao some media attention, however ahistorical the portrayal).

I don't expect Hollywood to go for historical realism with pirates any time soon (though I do think such a film could work, see Master and Commander for a good, fairly realistic age of sail film). But fuck, I'd even take an AC: Black Flag movie. Or just anything that isn't Johnny Depp clowning around in Keith Richards cosplay.
