From 'The Hypnogogue' to 'Eros Zera': Exploring The Church's Latest Psychedelic Saga
From 'The Hypnogogue' to 'Eros Zera': Exploring The Church's Latest Psychedelic Saga
HUNTINGTON, WV- Venerable and prolific psychedelic alt-rockers, The Church, have released their 27th studio album entitled, “Eros Zera and the Perfumed Guitars”. It is the follow-up to 2023’s “The Hypnogogue”, and serves as the companion to the album. Steven Kilby remains as the voice, bassist and the sole original member of the band, which is competently rounded out by drummer Tim Powle,…

The Church Live Show Review: 11/1, Evanston SPACE
BY JORDAN MAINZER
I'll admit it: Thought I admire both their underrated back catalog and new concept album The Hypnogogue (Communicating Vessels), having never seen The Church, I was wary of Steve Kilbey's ability to weave AI-inspired futuristic concepts into the shimmery wistfulness of the band's old songs. Maybe this was the result of having spent so much time recently trying to place myself in the mind of another overly ambitious rock icon. And perhaps my thoughts were unfair considering The Hypnogogue is a cohesive-sounding front-to-back album, stellar independent of its story. But a part of me was nonetheless skeptical of the juxtaposition of heady slow burns with dream pop classics.
Well, immediately after finishing the building "Ascendence", Ian Haug and Ashley Naylor's siren-like guitars leading the way, Kilbey declared that the Australian band was "playing better than ever before," 26 gigs in a row be damned. Indeed, they were so fine-tuned--his perfectly yearning vocals on "Destination", touring drummer Nicholas Meredith's disco beat breakdown on "Metropolis"--that by the time he introduced the concept of The Hypnogogue on ballad "No Other You", you were too, well, hypnotized, by the stadium sounds emanating from a small stage, to take in the plot. Kilbey contextualized The Hypnagogue's songs within the album's universe whenever he introduced them, but he did so non-linearly, as if each song was its own vignette. "Flickering Lights" sees the narrator hearing a nostalgic song in a cab, represented live by Jeffrey Cain's washy synths and Haug and Naylor's chiming guitars. "Antarctica", meanwhile, is named after the motherland of the main character, and the band's Pink Floyd-like, deliberate, effects-heavy prog funk conjured the feeling of being so cold you can't think straight. "Albert Ross"'s namesake in the fictional world is a disappeared guitar tech, and what better way to pay tribute to the lost soul than for Kilbey to thank the band's road crew, especially because they had to bring a mandolin just for that song?
Of course, The Church's hits were highlights, from "Hotel Womb" and "Fly", both enveloped by voluminous synths, to a lounge-like version of "Under the Milky Way" and stomping "Grind". But I was blown away by many of their deep cuts. During a mid-concert mini acoustic set, they nailed "Old Coast Road", a gorgeously jangly highlight from 2014's Further/Deeper. Meredith's motorik drumming both propelled and offered a welcome contrast to the otherwise beatific "C'est La Vie". Kilbey's dry, spoken delivery on "Second Bridge" recalled the depth of Jarvis Cocker. And "Tantalized", sans the theatrical horns of its studio version, was a tried and true monochromatic banger, clattering drums and scratchy, early 80's-The Edge-like guitars splitting eardrums in a venue over four times smaller than the theaters The Church were playing earlier in the year.
Ask any casual music fan about The Church, and they'll think of the band who made "Under the Milky Way". It is a great song; the moment the synthetic guitar solo meant to sound like bagpipes comes in, is one of the greatest in 80's rock. I posit, though, that their best song is "Reptile", whose revolving Marty Willson-Piper riff is the earworm of all earworms. This lineup, along with appropriate green and orange strobe lighting, stuck the landing, the dual guitar interplay shining in a matchup of stop-start stabs behind Kilbey's whispered sneer of a vocal turn. It was the emotional climax of the show, prepping you for the all-out closing cacophony jam of "You Took", and one that reminded you that a band in their fifth decade sounds like they could share a stage with some of today's best post-punk bands, even if their sound is meant to evoke noises of the past.

A teen nature enthusiast and her dad have discovered a sea slug usually found in the Mediterranean, in a UK rock pool.
It's believed to be the first time the 3cm-long creature has been recorded in Devon's waters.
Fifteen-year-old Felix and her dad Ashley found the sea slug near Wembury, near Plymouth.
"This must be the most brightly coloured, beautiful sea slug (or sea creature for that matter) I have ever seen!" said marine education officer Coral Smith.

Any fav childhood books?
Sorry for the late answer!
I used to be a fan of Judy Blume type books. Loved Ellen Tibbets bc something about that book really captured how bengali girls act as children. Me and my sister both related to the tense catfights and passive aggressiveness.
I was also a Mary Kate and Ashley super fan. They had hundreds of books and none of them were actually good, but I loved the brand.
Also the Alice series by Phyllis Naylor. It's a lesser known series that follows a girl from middle school age to college, so it always coincided with my own life. The older books were really good and started in the 1980s I believe. By the time Alice became a teenager, the author was releasing books in the 2010s and had become sort of out of touch. But it was still a really nice series to grow up with. I still haven't read the last few because I'm scared to finish it (It ages Alice up to 60 years old).

The Summertimes- S/T (Rank and File Records)
New Aussie band and though this one came out in mid-summer (July) I still wanted to write about it. They’ve got that beachy power pop vibe that those Aussie bands seem to do so well. The band is led by the two Davids, David Beniuk and David Challenger, and also includes some other fairly well-known Aussie musicians like Ashley Naylor, Stephen OBrien, and Steve Bull.
The record brings the sunshine right from opener “Inside” and doesn’t let up until the final cut, “The Perfect Wave.” In between these 10 songs (which clocks in at 34 minutes) you’ll hear lots of oozin’ ahs (as Bad Religion calls its) plus, horns, stellar guitar work all over the place (dig the hooks on “Password”).
Elsewhere “Wakes Up Shadows” is a bit more melancholy and “My Beautiful Girl Harbour” chimes and jangles its way across the beach and a song called “Athens, GA” is just as strummy as you’d think it would be (as is the equality as great “Love (it’s the word)”.
So yeah, if you dig stuff like Velvet Crush, Matthew Sweet, or anything that Aussie legend Dom Mariani has done then this Summertimes record will be right up your alley. Time to wax up and paddle out!

FOM BLOG: GILLINGHAM SUPPORTERS BLOG SEASON PREVIEW FOR THE 2023 / 2024 SEASON
Looking ahead to the start of The 2023 / 2024 Season, And With Gillingham kicking off the league campaign with a away game against Stockport County On The Fifth Of August, I have asked several Gillingham Supporters for there thoughts and opinions on a number of different subjects, Gillingham’s Transfer Business So Far This Summer, Where Do Gillingham Need To Strengthen The Squad, Gillingham Playing Against Southampton In The First Round Of The League Cup, And Which Young Player Can You See Breaking Through Into The First Team This Season.
Answering these questions are the following Gillingham Supporters,,,,, Loonpotter, Naylor, BQGillsFan and Colin - I want to thank everyone who has participated in the latest Gillingham Supporters Blog, as well as thank those who participated in The Gillingham Supporters Blogs throughout The 2022 / 2023 Season, It is because of the involvement of everyone who has participated in the previous blogs which have made these blogs so successful, so once again, thank you, Now on to the questions and answers……..
1. THE FIRST QUESTION I HAVE GOT TO ASK IS THIS, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ON GILLINGHAM’S HOME, AWAY AND THIRD KITS FOR THE 2023 / 2024 SEASON, HAVE YOU ALREADY GOT YOUR KIT, OR ARE YOU STILL WAITING ON YOUR KIT TO COME THROUGH, HAVING ORDERED ONLINE ???
Loonpotter - I absolutely love the home shirt. I think it's probably an all time favourite for me. I love the away shirt almost as much but the 3rd shirt I don't like at all. I've noticed on the forums that shirt sizes seem way off so I'll be waiting for the megastore to open before I get mine.
Naylor - Took me a while to warm to the home shirt I must be honest but it's really grown on me. I went to purchase the black and white away but by the time I could they were sold out so I'm waiting for them to return to stock. I quite like the Pink one too so well done to the club and Macron on the designs.
BQGillsFan - Immediately fell in love with the away and third kit, and picked those up earlier this week. Wasn't so sure on the home kit at first, but having now seen it in person I like it as well. So nice to have such a nice trilogy of kits this season.
Colin - I haven’t purchased any of the new replica shirts yet because I like to see what I m getting and try things in for size. From what I have seen the new shirts look really good.
2. AT THE TIME OF WRITING THE QUESTIONS FOR THIS SUPPORTERS BLOG, GILLINGHAM HAVE MADE SIX SUMMER SIGNINGS, SIGNING CONOR MASTERSON, JONNY WILLIAMS, MAX CLARK, SHADRACH OGIE, SCOTT MALONE AND ASHLEY NADESAN, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GILLINGHAM’S TRANSFER BUSINESS SO FAR ???
Loonpotter - The players we've brought in are absolutely fantastic. At the time of writing this I can't help thinking we are still looking for that all important striker though and I feel as though we may have had too many eggs in the Alfie May basket for too long whilst representatives were playing games.
Naylor - Yep pleased with the players that have come in. All with good experience at this level or above and our side is much stronger than it was last season. We still need to strengthen the forward line and from wide areas but pleased with all 6 so far.
BQGillsFan - Excellent work so far, really happy with all the signings made so far, with still time to get a few more names in.
Colin - I think we have done some good business without, maybe with the exception of Jonny Williams, bringing in any game changers. Malone should be a calming influence in the middle of the park and is a good replacement for McDonald. Max Clark is an improvement on last year and it was good to see us land Masterson on a permanent deal. Ogie seems to be the replacement for Will Wright whether he’s an improvement we’ll have to wait and see. I think we will miss Wright’s free kicks. I don’t know much about Nadesan, hopefully he will give us a bit of pace up top but I think we lack someone who can lead the line, more so with Hawkins being out injured.
3. AND WITH THE SIX SIGNINGS MENTIONED ABOVE, WHERE ELSE DO YOU THINK GILLINGHAM NEED TO STRENGTHEN THE SQUAD BEFORE THE TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSES ???
Loonpotter - Striker/goalscorer
Naylor - Should have read ahead. See Question 2.
BQGillsFan - The most obvious area, which I think is no secret to everyone involved at the club, is a proven goal scorer. We probably need a bit more depth out wide and in defence as well.
Colin - We need a target man who can mix it with the defenders you get at this level. I also think we lack pace out wide and we are requiring a big step up from Jayden Clarke if he’s the answer to that one.
4. AND AS WELL AS INCOMING SIGNINGS, ONE PLAYER HAS LEFT GILLINGHAM FOOTBALL CLUB, WITH WILL WRIGHT SIGNING FOR CRAWLEY TOWN FOR A UNDISCLOSED FEE, WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON WILL WRIGHT’S DEPARTURE ??? AND CAN YOU SEE GILLINGHAM SIGNING ANOTHER CENTRE BACK IN THIS TRANSFER WINDOW ???
Loonpotter - I guess it made sense for Will Wright to leave as he would have been pushed down the pecking order and we have several players who can operate in that position. It may have helped in the negotiations for Nadesan as well as the deals were done very close together.
Naylor - He was effectively our fourth choice CB and third choice RB. Whilst it would have been nice to keep him in the squad to have strength in depth, in reality I don't think he would have played loads of games without injuries. Best of luck to him but he's joined a sinking ship at Crawley.
BQGillsFan - I was quite surprised at the sale of Wright, as thought he was a perfect versatility option for Harris. Think we definitely need to add another CB following his departure, and I expect that means Ike Orji will be involved a decent amount throughout the season.
Colin - With Ehmer, Masterson and Ogie on the books I think Wright’s chances of a start were going to be limited so I’m not surprised he has moved on. It frees up a place in the senior squad but I don’t see another CB being a priority. As I have said we will miss Wright’s dead ball capabilities.
5. FOR GROUNDHOPPERS AND AWAY SUPPORTERS, ARE THERE ANY NEW STADIUMS YOU WANT TO TICK OFF YOUR STADIUM LIST FOR THE 2023 / 2024 SEASON ???
Loonpotter - Forest Green Rovers is somewhere I'm looking forward to visiting.
Naylor - Notts County was the one I had earmarked but that game has now been moved to a Friday night. I can probably get to the Wrexham game easily enough so I'll see if I can get tickets for that one. I might squeeze in MK Dons or Colchester too.
BQGillsFan - Unfortunately hard for me to travel too much for games due to work commitments, but will definitely be looking to get to a few this year. No ground specifically, just be a matter of what games come at a good time.
Colin - The only new ground for me will be Forest Green. It’s not one I’m look forward to as it has no railway station or anything much else nearby.
6. GILLINGHAM HAVE WON FOUR MATCHES AGAINST DOVER ATHLETIC, DARTFORD, COMO AND DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE AND LOST AGAINST CHARLTON ATHLETIC, MILLWALL AND CAMBRIDGE UNITED, SO HOW WOULD YOU SUM UP GILLINGHAM’S PERFORMANCES AND RESULTS IN PRE-SEASON ??? - AND DO YOU THINK PRE-SEASON RESULTS MATTER IN-TERMS OF HOW WELL GILLINGHAM ARE GOING TO DO THIS SEASON ???
Loonpotter - I look for individual performances in pre season but overall results are irrelevant.. I struggle to get excited by friendlies.
Naylor - It's nice to win more than lose but pre-season results aren't the be all and end all for me as we're working on playing different shapes, combinations and styles of play.
BQGillsFan - Pre-season is all about fitness and creating team harmony on and off the pitch. Results are nice, but not worth reading too much in to. In that regard, I think it was a good pre-season for Gills.
Colin - You can’t gauge that much from pre season. We were a lot better than Dover and Dartford both of whom looked quite poor to me. At the other end of the scale both Millwall and Charlton looked much stronger than us as you might expect. We seemed to be a bit better than Dagenham. I was at the Wimbledon Tennis Quarter Finals when we played Como so I only have second hand knowledge, but from what I hear Como would have won comfortably if they could finish. All in all I think we will be good enough to get close to the play offs, maybe a bit better if we get a target man in before the window closes.
7. AND SPEAKING OF HOW WELL GILLINGHAM ARE GOING TO DO THIS SEASON, WHERE DO YOU THINK GILLINGHAM WILL FINISH IN LEAGUE TWO AT THE END OF THE 2023 / 2024 SEASON ???
Loonpotter - I think we'll finish in the playoffs.
Naylor - I'm fairly confident of a Top 24 finish for this season.
BQGillsFan - Going to go with a safe compromise of my head and heart, and say Gills will finish in the playoffs this season.
Colin - I have put a fiver on eighth place in Fred Perry’s prediction competition.
8. ONE BIG CHANGE THIS SUMMER COMPARED TO PREVIOUS SEASON’S, GILLINGHAM HAVE GOT SEVENTEEN FIRST TEAM PLAYERS UNDER CONTRACT HEADING INTO THIS SEASON FROM LAST SEASON’S SQUAD, HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THINK IT IS FOR GILLINGHAM TO HAVE THE CORE OF THE SQUAD FROM LAST SEASON ALREADY UNDER CONTRACT FOR THE 2023 / 2024 SEASON
Loonpotter - It's great to have them under contract. We had an incredible 2nd half of the season and have added to it very well.
Naylor - Yep very important to have a strong core of players to work from rather than stripping out the whole squad as Steve Evans liked to do. When we won League Two in 2012/13 we already had a strong core that Martin Allen built on and I believe that is the correct manner in which to base your football teams if you want them to be successful.
BQGillsFan - Cohesion and continuity are hugely important in creating a successful team. It's absence has been so evident in our decline over the past few years, so it's a delight to have some semblance of it heading into this season.
Colin - If they are the right players then not having to replace everyone helps. We finished the season grinding out some good results without ever looking dominant in games. Hopefully we have built on what we had already, but we aren’t the only ones splashing the cash.
9. WHICH YOUNG PLAYER AT THE FOOTBALL CLUB CAN YOU SEE BREAKING THROUGH INTO THE FIRST TEAM FOR THE 2023 / 2024 SEASON ???
Loonpotter - I want to say Gbode but I'm not sure he'll get much of a look in this year.
Naylor - Shad Ogie.
BQGillsFan - I think Ike Orji could be one to keep an eye on. Cheye Alexander really stepped up in the second half of next season, but he's certainly not as good as to be deemed irreplaceable. Jake Turner seems to have featured a lot of pre-season, so could be a possible shout to usurp Morris over the course of the season, if not immediately.
Colin - I think our youth development programmes have some way to go before they start producing league standard players. I haven’t seen any stand out young players but Matty McArthur looks to have something about him.
10. WITH GILLINGHAM CLOSE TO BREAKING OUR RECORD FOR SEASON TICKETS SOLD, SELLING OUR OUR INITIAL STOCK OF KIT SUPPLY FOR ALL THREE KITS, DO YOU THINK GILLINGHAM SUPPORTERS PROBABLY GO INTO THIS COMING SEASON WITH A LOT OF EXCITEMENT AND ENTHUSIASM ???
Loonpotter - Definitely. In terms of enthusiasm this is probably the most excited that I've seen fans as a collective unit, all pulling in the same direction, for years. I cannot wait.
Naylor - Yes there's a lot of enthusiasm going into the season.
BQGillsFan - There certainly seems to be a much better feel around the club and the fans right now, hopefully that translates to a brilliant atmosphere at Priestfield during the season.
Colin - Obviously the previous chairman stepping back a bit has lifted much of the cloud that has weighed down on the club for several years now. Expectations were raised by all the sleeping giant hype and us being linked with Alfie May. I think things have calmed down a bit now and most of us are expecting us to do reasonably well without necessarily being one of the top sides. The result at Stockport might set the mood going forward. A win there would be immense. If we lose then expectations: might level off a bit.
11. HYPOTHETICAL SCENARIO, YOUR APPOINTED AS CHAIRMAN OF THE FA / CHAIRMAN OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE AND YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL, WHAT CHANGES ARE YOU MAKING AND WHY ???
Loonpotter - I'm getting rid of yellow cards for over zealous goal celebrations, there isn't a better time to be over zealous. I'm reviewing the handball rule at the very least. I'm putting in harsher penalties for poor refereeing and I'm making sure replays remain in The F.A cup but I guess I'd have to buy it back first.
Naylor - Go back to maximum 3 subs allowed on the pitch.
BQGillsFan - On a large scale, creating a specialised team of officials trained to work on VAR, rather than having the same referees that make the mistakes on the field working on the technology and doing whatever they can to protect their mates. I don't understand how you can bring in technology to help fix mistakes officials are making, then put those same officials in charge of it. Clowns running the circus. And on a personal level, enforce where throw-ins are taken from. It's my biggest pet peeve watching a player walk the ball sometimes upwards of 10-15 yards before throwing the ball.
Colin - That an unlikely scenario to say the least but I think professional football in England is all about the haves and have nots with very little sharing. That of course is what the Premier League breaking away from the EFL with the blessing of the FA was all about. Tracey Crouch’s report made some good recommendations around finances, financial fair play, ownership and corporate structures, lack of accountability to the fans who pay for it all directly and indirectly. Whether any of this will be addressed looks unlikely. Instead we seem to have a rush of US based investors that might or might not be a good thing in the long term.
12. GILLINGHAM’S FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON IS A LEAGUE CUP FIRST ROUND TIE AGAINST SOUTHAMPTON AT PRIESTFIELD STADIUM, ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MATCH ??? AND ARE YOU HOPING THAT GILLINGHAM CAN REPLICATE LAST SEASON’S CUP RUN IN THE LEAGUE CUP, OR, IS LEAGUE TWO OUR ENTIRE FOCUS FOR THIS COMING SEASON ???
Loonpotter - I think we're in a good place for some decent cup runs this season. Southampton is a tough one but on our day we can certainly win that.
Naylor - Yes I am and yes it would be great if last season's cup run could be replicated but as long as it isn't at detriment of the league.
BQGillsFan - Can't wait, super excited. One of the games I've always wanted, given I lived in Southampton for 4 years whilst at university. We certainly should look at it as an opportunity. The Saints looked very good under Russell Martin, but it's the cup, anything can happen.
Colin - Last season’s cup runs brought a bit of cheer to the early part of the season. Brentford away was a real highlight. So yes I am looking forward to Southampton at home under the lights. It’s a sell out for them, although I think we are back to only the bottom half of the BMS being usable, so it should be a good atmosphere and maybe we can surprise them.
13. WHAT WOULD YOUR STARTING LINE UP AND SUBSTITUTES BENCH BE FOR STOCKPORT COUNTY V GILLINGHAM ON SATURDAY ???
Loonpotter - If fit, Morris, Clark, Ehmer, Masterson, Ogie, McKenzie, Malone, Lapslie, Jeffries, Nichols, Nadesan, J Williams
Naylor - Rumours of a few injuries in the camp so this based on who I think is fit: Turner Alexander Ehmer Ogie Clark Clarke Dieng Coleman Malone Lapslie Nichols.
BQGillsFan - Morris, Alexander, Ogie, Masterson, Malone, Dieng, S. Williams, Nichols, J. Williams, Jeffries, Hawkins Bench - Turner, Clark, Ehmer, McKenzie, Lapslie, Nadesan, Walker
Colin - I don’t know who is going to be fit and available for Saturday as the squad has picked up a fair few injuries during pre season. I think we might take to the field with: Turner, Alexander, Ehmer, Masterson, Clark, S.Williams, Jeffries, Malone, Lapslie, Clarke, Nichols. Subs will be whoever is left from those fit and available.
14. AND WHAT IS YOUR SCORE PREDICTION FOR STOCKPORT COUNTY V GILLINGHAM ???
Loonpotter - Stockport 1 v 1 Gillingham
Naylor - Have to be positive and go for a Gills 2-1 win
BQGillsFan - Going to be a tough first game. Realist in me says 2-0 Stockport, optimist will go with 1-1.
Colin - My head says 2-0 Stockport but I’m hoping we can get a 1-1.
15. AND FINALLY, IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WISH TO ADD (EXAMPLE: IS THERE SOMETHING I HAVE NOT COVERED IN THE FOURTEEN QUESTIONS ASKED ABOVE YOU WANT TO EXPAND UPON) ???
Loonpotter - We are now into that long drawn out last week before kick off where everyone is excited and looking forward to the upcoming season.. Expectations are higher than normal even for those fans of clubs that in all honesty will probably finish mid table or below because it's a fresh start. Everyone is on the same points and there is always an element of what if... Enjoy the season everyone, let's do this !!!
Naylor - Here's hoping that 2023/24 finally sees the return of the Paella kiosk to the Rainham End.
BQGillsFan - I'd just like to echo the excellent message put out by the club on Thursday. Football is everyone, discrimination should not and will not be accepted at Gillingham. Ultimately, we are part of the same family, so let's not ruin things for the team or ourselves by letting a small minority ruin the name of Gillingham Football Club. One team, one family, one love.
Colin - Just Up the Gills and let’s enjoy the new season.
Once again, thank you to everyone for participating in this blog, and if anyone who is reading this wishes to participate in The Next Gillingham Supporters Blog, then feel free to send me a message, and your more than welcome to participate in The Next Gillingham Supporters Blog, The Strength Of The Gillingham Supporters Blog comes from everyone who has contributed, so once again, thank you to everyone who has participated in every single Gillingham Supporters Blog, There is real excitement and enthusiasm heading into this coming season that The 2023 / 2024 Season will be a very successful season for The Gills, And Gillingham get that season underway with a trip to Edgeley Park, And hopefully, Gillingham can get the season off to a good start with a draw or a win against Stockport County on the opening day of the season - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!!!!!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Given the short amount of time before I sent the questions out for The Gillingham Supporters Blog before the start of the season, I think it would only be fair to do a additional blog, and maybe do a bonus supporters blog to give others who perhaps either missed out on the opportunity to send there questions in time, or, wanted to participate in the supporters blog but didn’t realise I was asking questions for the blog, I think it would only be fair to do a bonus blog and give other supporters more time to participate for the next blog, Apologies for the short notice for the questions for this supporters blog.

Blue Heeler Film Festival Runs With The Times
“The theme of the Pandemic was chosen due to the times we are living in – it’s a great opportunity to see how differently people perceive it and the impacts it has had”
After a 2020 hiatus ala so many Film Festivals impacted by COVID-19, Muswellbrook’s dedicated Film Fest Blue Heeler is back come October 30 with a topical theme if ever; “DON’T PANIC!’ in the context of living in a pandemic.”
“It will be interesting to see the people who have found positives in the pandemic rather than just the negatives,” continued Muswellbrook Shire Council’s Susanne Tobin. “We don’t specifically want to push people in one direction or another; obviously we don’t want it full of doom and gloom.”
“Hopefully filmmakers will see it as an opportunity to focus on the positives – whatever they may be.”
Co-ordinated by Joshua Belinfante, an Academic at the University of Newcastle, together with Ashley Naylor and Georgia Cochraine, both of whom hail from UON, entries for the 8th annual Blue Heeler are free and now open. To be held at Musswellbrook Cinema, submissions are open (normal deadline August 28, late deadline October 9) to films of any genre under 7 minutes and will be screened alongside live music.
“The University of Newcastle supports Muswellbrook Council in the marketing and delivery of the Festival through a collaborative approach that provides scholarships to final year media and communication students,” said Dr Simon Weaving and Andrea Cassin of the UON School of Creative Industries, which will also be providing a number of short film workshops to local high schools.
The winner of the open category, eligible for filmmakers 18 years and over, will receive a $10,000 prize, while entrants aged 14-18 can compete for a $5,000 award.
“The most distinctive feature of the Festival is its links to the community providing local filmmakers and school students resources and incentives to explore their creativity and be part of an event that is also open to filmmakers from all over the world,” concluded Weaving and Cassin.

who's the other footballer that Olivia Naylor has a kid with? Also I think the way John stones and his ex's relationship ended was terrible. I swear Olivia was the other woman aswell ///
Ashley Cole? He definitely had a child with a woman who’s now with an England player. But there’s always been rumors about Olivia’s child being by Rashfords brother. I always heard that rumor when she first got with John
i thinks it’s ashley young not ashley cole - arlene

Hey Babes just found your site and i love it. I was digging really deep in posts about Miss Naylor. It looks like she was dating a Man back in 2018, got pregnant by this Football Player in the same Year and also got John Stones 2018. Damn that Girl was busy.
Her Parents must be really proud of her.
And i have to say her Ex boyfriend, the man before the Football Players looks pretty good too and they Fit perfectly together.
But maybe he doesn't have the Money
thanks anon 😊🖤 yeah her kid is ashley youngs. John ain’t even her type so it’s obvious what she’s doing. 👀☕️ that’s all i’ll say

daydreams, golden, paper, mochi, shampoo, cuddles, roses 😘😘😘
if you could be anything or anyone, who would you be? I'm not sure I'm sorry I have daydreams about it sometimes but knowing me I would actually be miserable if anything ever happened the way I daydream about. if I had a different personality I could thrive that way but nah, I'm realistic, and know my true daydreams aren't what I'd really want. So maybe not a complete switch out of my life because I want to keep my fam and friends but maybe being a well known voice actor could be neat
favorite stationary product? a nice precise pen that glides like a dream. i like the one that's gray with dark blue or black ink and when you turn the cap it sounds like a safe's locking mechanism. I don't remember the brand I need to pop by an office supply store sometime and find it again.
edit: its a UniBall Vision Pen
favorite children’s book? I'm going to preface this by saying I have not reread any of these as an adult, okay: When I was a kid I LOVED Bridge to Terabithia, even though it broke my little heart. I adored The Girl with the Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts (I actually liked a few of her books) also liked the Alice series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor (and some other of her books.) I also really liked Double Act, Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson, The Moorchild, the Dear America series, American Girl series, the full house Michelle & Marykate and Ashley mystery books. Some of the Fudge series by Judy Blum, Isabelle books by Constance C Green. Also liked LOTR and then in high school I clearly remember reading these sappy angsty books old books by Lurlene McDaniel though it took me a small search just now to find her name.
favorite studio ghibli film? I've seen a few my brother is more into them I liked Spirited Away! favorite scent? do love me some gardenias and orange blossoms. do you have any pets? Unfortunately I do not. My kitty boy passed a few days before lockdown in 2020. what flower do you find most beautiful? roses, tulips and peonies

“Desert Void” is the latest mural to besot and bloom against the walls of Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs. This time, artist Chazwick “Chaz” Bear — known professionally as the singer, songwriter and record producer Toro y Moi — took to sun-dripped floral forms to create his bold organic shapes and silhouettes. In his own words, “‘Desert Void’ is a celebration of the colors and forms of the desert and a meditation on the experience of existing within that space.” You can see it now, in all of its glorious, kaleidoscopic abstraction, here during Desert Gold, this year’s sonic oasis during Coachella.
