Hi guys so if u live in CT and want to go to an art highschool

don't go to Arts of The Capitol Theater.

Trigger warning for ableism.

There at that school, the principal is a fucking bitch. Now I don't use that term too lightly, but it definitely fits her.

At that school currently, there is a problem involving sexual harassment. This has been brought up to her on multiple occasions, as well as multiple reports have been filed against the harasser by multiple victims.

Sarah, the principal, has done absolutely nothing. She has said that she's talked with the student and his parents as well as other students' parents about the situation, but she NEVER emailed my mother or my boyfriend's mother about anything involving the situation.

So we had to take this small, itty bitty information she gave us at face value and just believe her.

Obviously, I didn't, and MANY students involved with this didn't believe her either. In fact, they were repulsed by this small information.

Me and multiple students took part and organized a sit-in, which is a form of peaceful protest where the protesters sit in a designated place until their needs are met or they were forced to move by authority. Unfortunately, we were suspended for the rest of the day for this protest movement.

This created a large change in students' views of the principal and the academics, so we gained more traction. More people reported their experiences and the reports piled up.

It was on December 19th that I was suspended until further notice alongside my boyfriend and a now ex-friend for creating a disturbance in the academic environment and for bullying.

Originally I wasn't meant to be suspended, however my boyfriend texted me to come to the office because he and the ex-friend were being expelled and/or suspended.

Now I do not run unless I absolutely need to. For context, I was on the basement floor. The office is on the second floor. I am not allowed to use elevators. So when I say I sprinted as fast as I could up 3 flights of stairs into that office to fight tooth and nail for my friends, I mean it. I was up those stairs in 5 seconds and in the office in 8.

I screamed my lungs out at the principal and guidance counselor for not doing their jobs and for condemning the wrong people in this situation so loudly that an alumni walking by heard me and stopped by the door to watch me. I saw admiration in her eyes.

My boyfriend was sobbing hysterically and pounding his head on the table because he was so horrifically deregulated and the guidance counselor didn't do a single thing as a support staff. If anything, she sat there and watched. Her face didn't change a bit from a cold stare.

I was told to leave. I didn't. I would not leave because if they went down fighting for their fucking rights, so would I. I organized the protests and posters and reports. I convinced girls and boys alike who were affected to report the boy who harassed them. I made people feel like there were options.

And so, I was suspended until further notice alongside my boyfriend and ex-friend.

I do not regret it.

Now today my mother had an online meeting with Sarah and the school's board to determine what would happen next involving me and school.

They wanted me to come back tomorrow, and had said that I should have been doing the work from home because I was only suspended for 5 days. That was a lie. Sarah told me I was suspended until further notice and there would have to be a re-entry meeting if I were to come back.

My mother fought for me when I wasn't awake yet for the meeting, which I wasn't even supposed to be there for but my mother let me sit in silence on the floor to listen, and the amount of lies coming from the board was absolutely astounding.

Sarah, Jane, and Nina spouted lies upon lies and blamed my defiance and such on my disabilities.

For reference, I have ODD, otherwise known as oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, ADD, and others I won't list.

They never took accountability for their actions once during that meeting.

So when I say do NOT go to that school if you can help it, I fucking mean it.

That school is ableist and everything under the sun that a youth would never want to experience in what is supposed to be an educational environment.

Fuck that school.

The theater has been one of the most popular forms of entertainment since the Greeks, and the acting industry today is a hard but potentially prosperous career. If you have ever been in theater or seen a live show, you know how fun theater can be. It may seem like a dying industry due to the movie industry taking its role, but for those who love the art of theater, then you should know about World Theater day! Let’s find out about this special holiday and celebrate it!

World Theater Day has been created to pay tribute to this incredible form of entertainment. People have enjoyed going to the theater for many years now. It is a great way to spend time with loved ones and to witness live entertainment. There is just something magical about the theater, isn’t there?

History of World Theater Day

Initiated in 1961 by the International theater Institute (ITI), each year theaters across the world celebrate the value and importance of theater, and this holiday acts as a wake-up call for governments, politicians, and institutions to see its value to society and for economic growth. ITI also host a yearly message, spoken by a chosen famous theater performer, to share their reflections on the art of theater and its future. The first of those messages were spoken by Jean Cocteau in 1962.

This message is translated into over 50 languages, read for thousands of spectators, and printed in hundreds of newspapers. It also spreads the message by broadcast to all corners of the world through their institutions. Because ITI has over 90 centers throughout the world, the institute also encourages colleges, schools, and theater professionals to celebrate this holiday as well.

The date of this holiday also corresponds with the opening of the Theater of Nations season in Paris. The goals of this holiday, according to ITI, is to promote theater in all corners of the world, bring awareness to the value of theater in all its forms, to help promote local theater communities on a broader scale, and to share the love of theater with others.

How to Celebrate World Theater Day

While many of the celebrations happen at ITI locations, it doesn’t mean you can’t join them. You can contact and coordinate it with the ITI Centre or Cooperating Member in their country or region to participate. You can also read/hear the message of their chosen speaker and spread it across social media using the hashtag #worldtheaterday.

If you want to do something of your own, visit your local theater and support them by donating to their affiliated organizations and maybe buy tickets to see some of their hosted concerts. You can even join a theater program and learn music and acting in your local area. It’s lots of fun and you can even encourage your friends to join in on the action and make it a group activity.

One show that we recommend is Top Hat. If you can’t watch it at a theater near you, you can always watch the film! Irving Berlin is deemed one of the greatest ever songwriters in American history by a lot of people. The composer and lyricist lived a long and colourful life and the world was lucky enough to be blessed by his phenomenal talent.

When he passed away in 1989, at the grand age of 101, his legacy certainly did not die. Many still celebrate his achievements today and there is no better example of this then Top Hat the Musical. Top Hat the Musical achieved massive success. A lot of this success has derived from the incorporation of Berlin’s music. After all, he did write the original songs that were incorporated in the 1935 original film featuring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers.

In fact, this is deemed to be one of his most notable and loved works. Two of the songs – ‘Cheek to Cheek’ and ‘Top Hat, White Tie and Tails’ – are now considered to be American classics. If you are looking for a great sing-a-long you are assured to love the musical version of Top Hat. It doesn’t matter whether you have seen the original or not. And don’t worry; the show is not merely about songs, the plot is fantastic and really funny too!

Or, what about We Will Rock You? One of the main reasons why this show created such a buzz is because of the fact that it incorporates an array of well-known and well-loved Queen songs. This is what immediately draws people to go to see the musical in the first place. Yet, once the reviews started pouring in people discovered that there was a lot more to this show than having a sing-a-long to the hits from the world-famous rock band.

And so those who are not even a fan of Queen started to go and see the show and they were as equally as impressed as the biggest Queen admirers were. Belting out iconic tunes by Freddie Mercury and co is by no means an easy challenge. Yet the cast does it to perfection. They have embodied the big anthem feel that Queen has with all of their songs and they manage to get the whole theaters and arenas rocking. When taking on such massive songs quite often it is easy to fall short, but it’s definitely not the case when it comes to this rocking musical.

And finally, for those of you who think talent shows are ruining the music industry, you will definitely love the plot of this show. It follows a world whereby rock has been killed and commercialized pop music runs riot. Many would say that we are not far off from this happening in the current day. Yet, it’s unlikely that all humans will have ID cards rather than names anytime soon – as they do in the musical.

I am once again so disappointed with the leftist demonazis constantly spewing nonsensical drivel every time they don't like someone elses opinion. Demonazis are so far to the left that they agree with and use the propaganda tools of the two worst extreme right ass holes that ever walked the earth. • The Nazis were skilled propagandists who used sophisticated advertising techniques and the most current technology of the time to spread their messages.

Think of CNN, MSNBC, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, all other "news outlets" for example the New York times, Boston globe, and Washington post are but a few. They don't report the news but continuously give us their opinions on everything. The 5ws are desperately needed to stop their propaganda. We can include the woke organizations like Disney and Hollywood movie makers for spreading propaganda for the demonazis.

• Once in power, Adolf Hitler created a Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda to shape German public opinion behavior.

▪︎Nazi propaganda played an integral role in advancing the persecution and ultimately the destruction of Europe’s Jews and all political Dissidents. It incited hatred and fostered a climate of indifference to their fate.

Think of how the demonazis allowed the likes of BLM and ANTIFA to destroy many cities. No action was taken by those in power to stop the destruction or prosecute the perpetrators. Then remember the hissy fit they had when they allowed, yes demonazis allowed, Republican protester into the capital. The demonazis prosecuted 100s of peaceful republican protesters. If the republican protesters were acting like BLM and ANTIFA the Capitol would be a smoking ruin.

• The Nazis wanted Germans to support the Nazi dictatorship and believe in Nazi ideas. To accomplish this goal, they tried to control forms of communication through censorship and propaganda. This included control of newspapers, magazines, books, art, theater, music, movies, and radio.

• When the Nazis came to power in 1933, the German constitution guaranteed freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Through decrees and laws, the Nazis abolished these civil rights and destroyed German democracy. Starting in 1934, it was illegal to criticize the Nazi government. Even telling a joke about Hitler was considered treachery. People in Nazi Germany could not say or write whatever they wanted. 

Examples of censorship under the Nazis included:

• Closing down or taking over anti-Nazi newspapers; 

• Controlling what news appeared in newspapers, on the radio, and in newsreels;

• Banning and burning books that the Nazis categorized as un-German.

• Textbooks are a good example of how propaganda and censorship worked together in the Nazi regime. The Nazis used both propaganda and censorship to control what students read in school. Nazi censors removed some textbooks from classrooms. New textbooks taught students to obey the Nazi Party, love Hitler, and hate Jews.

The demonazis took over education with the creation of the Department of education in 1979.

The Higher Education Act of 1965 introduced federal student aid and loan programs. These give away programs allowed higher education to run amuk with ever increasing cost of degrees. This needs to stop now.

Demonazis try to stop the political middle and right from voicing their opinions by controlling who can and can't post on many social media sight. Censorship at it worst. Thank God Elon Musk bought out Twitter and turned it into X. No more censorship there. Of course the demonazis scream foul.

We The People who love the United States of America must stand by her in her hour of desperate need. If we don't our great country is doomed. I know this is a long winded post but I felt it was necessary to explain how dangerous the deep state and New World Order are. This is why I call the democrats demonazis as the word fits perfectly.

hehe I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED. Bc while I absolutely don't know, I see it so clearly?? Buckle up here we go!!!!!

First of all, her and Harvey live on Queen Anne. I don't give a fuck where Mike's firm is, they literally belong in the Queen Anne neighborhood.

Now, as for what Donna does - I'm assuming you mean for employment. LMAO. While it would be super cool for her to continue as a COO, and that's what I manifest for her, I do think it would be cool to see her tap into her COO skills and mix them with theater. I'm thinking Managing Director of the Seattle Rep (aka the Seattle Repertory Theatre) or the 5th Avenue Theatre. If she did continue with law firms or whatever, then I think she'd at least be on a board of directors or a committee chair for these theatre organizations!! I just really like the idea of her trying to be more integrated into the arts in Seattle, even maybe her and Harvey getting passes to the Seattle International Film Festival when it rolls around in the spring.

She goes to a yoga class in her neighborhood but on weekends, her and Harvey drive to Green Lake to go on runs together. They find nice restaurants in Belltown and try new bars in Pioneer Square, and their new anniversary spot is The Pink Door. Donna goes to Pike Place Market to get new flowers for their home whenever their current ones die, bc she always is trying to bring new life into their home (like she tried to do with bringing Harvey a cactus lmao). Her and Rachel go to drag brunches in Capitol Hill when they need girl time. She also likes to plan little weekend getaways with Harvey that require ferry trips to the islands right off the mainland!!

She also finds out about the neighborhood art walks and drags Harvey with her to go to them until they narrow down the main ones they regularly visit. He acts like he doesn't like it but it's a way he still feels connected to his mom by supporting local artists!!

Even though Seattle isn't as much as "the city that never sleeps" like New York is, I think that she starts to appreciate being able to live life at a calmer pace with the core four. She loves the view of the Puget Sound she gets in the morning and all of the greenery in her neighborhood. I also think she bitches to Harvey CONSTANTLY about how many tech workers there are in the city that won't look up from their phones and it drives her crazy, also she bitches about the lack of as many luxury stores as there were in Manhattan. Additionally, she ends up driving herself and Harvey places more often than he drives them because he repeatedly and accidentally almost hits cyclists on the street and Donna at least tries to be a little more considerate of the others on the road.

You're from the Capitol.

Your family is originally from District 1 where they made their fortune in the precious stone business in order to finally settle in the Capitol at the time of your great-grandparents. It still owns the majority of the precious stone mines today, with a particular monopoly on diamonds and rubies. It also runs several highly regarded lapidary workshops among Capitol jewelers.

Given the prestige amassed, your family is among the wealthiest and most influential in Panem.

Your family is also very important in the sphere of sponsorship of the Hunger Games where it is reputed to be one of the most generous sponsors of the Games, especially for the career districts. As a result, you meet quite regularly with the victors of these districts who take care of their relations with your lineage for the purposes of asking for gifts afterwards. As a result, since the victors of the Hunger Games are considered famous celebrities in Capitol, it further bolsters your family's image.

When you were born, you received gifts from Career Districts in order to maintain ties. - District 1 gave you a huge baby cashmere fabric, which is the rarest and most expensive fabric in all of Panem - District 2 gave you a ceremonial dagger engraved and set with countless precious stones - District 4 offered you a set of natural pearls with an incomparable mother-of-pearl whose shapes were either totally round or drop-shaped

During Finnick's Games, your parents started teaching you about the Hunger Games so they took you to the sponsorship room for the first time to show you how it's going and so that you can understand your future role.

However, they hadn't expected that you have a monumental crush on the District 4 tribute to whom you are going to offer the trident which will become the most expensive gift of all the Games. To pay for it, you will innocently dip into your parents' money. When they find out, they're going to be mortified. They will leave the weapon with Finnick and assume by assuring that they had been moved to see a tribute that was the age of their daughter but, in private, they will take you aside to explain to you that you should never redo such an expensive gift.

As you grow up, you will be trained by your parents, tutors and image consultants to develop your family's own taste and style. You will therefore learn how to assemble and create beautiful outfits, develop your general knowledge, practice arts of all kinds (painting, dance, music, literature, architecture and sculpture or theater) as well as master the different speeches to know how to handle words.

You will then start appearing at the festivities of the elite of the Capitol which you surprisingly enjoy.

However, you will not have the right to converse in public with Finnick because, after he turns 16, he will start to drag his reputation as a womanizer and your parents refuse to have it associated with the image of their family. They don't care about your relationship as long as you stay hidden. So you start dating and you try your best to buy his time from Snow on the sly from your parents and Capitol society.

You once wanted to give him one of the pearls you received at birth from District 4 but he took it badly since he considers that you should cherish them rather than give them away. He also tells you that these gifts were quite poorly perceived in his district since these pearls had been the most beautiful for several decades and that they had been the pride of the inhabitants. Yet they had been given as bribes.

As you meet, you become more and more opposed to the Hunger Games and you follow the revolt from afar.

During the 75th Hunger Games, you are taken by Plutarch and Haymitch with Eiffie (whom you know because she has gained popularity since Katinss' victory at the previous Games) to the 13th District because, given your influence in the capital, you can become a major asset in appeasing the inhabitants of the Capitol during the transition of power. Furthermore, you know that Snow is aware of your relationship with Finnick and you are also aware of his treatment of those who may be, even potentially, a threat to his power.

You hate your stay in the 13th District. Even if you agree with the fact that the Games are inhuman as well as the difference in standard of living between the Capitol and the rest of Panem, you realize that you still care about your comfort. Goodbye soft clothes against the skin; hello rough fabrics. Goodbye good meals and sugary drinks; hello to poor and bland meals in limited quantities. Goodbye the pleasant days of entertainment in good company; hello the exhausting days of work. The only positive is that now you are more with Finnick even though he is very busy with the Rebellion.

You also get closer to Peeta Mellark whose witty traits you appreciate even if he was very suspicious at first.

"Give me a good reason to stay and talk to you." the boy from District 12 asked coldly. "We do have things in common?" answered the girl, stubbornly. "Oh yeah?" sneered Peeta. "And which ones?" "First of all, we've both kissed Finnick Odair." The baker's son let out a laugh, taken by surprise by the answer, and ended up unstuck enough to finally become your friend.

Once the Rebellion is over, you will live with Finnick at the Capitol.

You get your money back on condition that you finance structures (hospitals, housing, schools) throughout Panem, that you pay financial aid to the poorest and that you resell certain diamond and ruby mines of your family so that you're no longer the monopoly.

Finnick basically wanted you to move to his district but, after a few months there, you were really not comfortable with the comforts of life. Finally, he himself proposes that you move to the Capitol. There, you continue to live on a good standard of living although you are less rich than before because of the costs of post-Rebellion reconstruction, the aid to be paid or the demands of your employees (wage increases, creation charges and salary protections). There is also a drop in profits since, with the loss of the monopoly on gemstones due to the new regime, you can no longer set prices as before. However, you still have plenty to live on.

Finnick becomes a kind of logistics intermediary in the trade of products and services from District 4 (aquaculture, navigation, and fishing) throughout Panem. Indeed, he knows the value of this products, he is known throughout Panem, he has a good relationship with people while being a diplomat and he has made connections among the former Capitol and former victors for all these years. He also benefits from your help and your connections.

His love languages are physical contact and quality time while yours are more acts of service and physical contact (only in private) which sometimes creates dissonance in your relationship but you manage to make it work.

I really want to write an Elemental story since I read some au concept by @/vanillaxoshi. Along with recent essay about the elementals and their headcannon I wrote AND This concept art here made me wanted to make an au concept of elementals as well.

I'm not a fan of Star Wars or Star Trek, mind you, but I couldn't help but to think, "What if Oboi's lived in a deserted planet like Ray's early daily lives from Episode VII? Would that be cool?" (I only watched it once at the theater and never seen it again afterwards by the way.)

Then I read this theory I posted before and it clicked me. "Would that be interesting concept who's the fake ones and who's the real one in the same story? Which one they should protect and which one they should fight for?"

I once made this au from different franchises, never published it cause that one was full of holes and lack of world building, so I remade it with this franchise. Turns out It... Surprisingly works? From the moment I randomly write down the prompt, my mind explodes in possibilities.

Therefor here we are. I truly at first wanted to give more prompts and I dunno... spoil anything? Yet, my head constantly showcasing scenes and scenarios for me to write it down!

What are some things a tourist might do in Gallecross? Hidden gems, tourist traps, and the like?

So the tourist trade isn't exactly a huge one in Gallecross, at least not from outside the walls. Most of those that come in from outside Gallecross are either: very rich, so as to afford protection services crossing the Wilds; merchants coming in large caravans that can pool their funds to hire protection services; or religious pilgrims who often have protection offered to them for the valor or the prestige of it.

But Gallecross in particular, being a sort of de facto capitol city of the continent, and being FUCKING MASSIVE, has the fun sort of effect of having a tourism trade with its own citizens. When each of your boroughs are large enough to be minor cities themselves, well...

The Necropolis and Lucentrock are popular destinations for religious or traditional visits, being the location of the largest grave site on the continent and also the biggest collection of religious representation and places of worship almost anywhere.

If someone wants entertainment, then Ring South is the borough for them. It has a famous theater row and is full of artsy neighborhoods, art shops, murals and statues, and museums of all kinds. Of course every area has its tourist traps and scams to watch out for, but if you know what you're doing and use basic common sense it's pretty easy to avoid them.

Fishing trip? Bedlams Wharf has boats to rent and plenty of shops stocking bait and rods and tackle for whatever you may wish to catch. Shopping? Cuirven Bazaar, guaranteed to have just about anything available in the continent, if not the world. Want to go camping or hunting but don't want to risk getting eaten by monsters? Ledosa Mills is a druid-maintained forest that supplies the city's lumber needs and areas can be rented out for private hunting of stocked feralfolk. Just want a relaxing getaway somewhere quiet? There are houses for rent in Burled Grove and Stepped Valley, or even Upper Liand if you want something more rural. Nightlife (*wink*)? Pennalt Row has you covered with whatever kind of party or company you could want.

Rep. Lauren Boebert booted from ‘Beetlejuice’ musical for disturbance

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was ejected from the musical “Beetlejuice” in Denver this week after she was accused of vaping, singing, recording the show and being disruptive during the performance.

An incident report obtained by the Colorado Sun says that two patrons were reprimanded, then escorted from the premises for “causing a disturbance” during the musical Sunday night at the city-owned Buell Theatre. The incident report, which does not name the people involved, says the patrons were issued a warning during intermission after three complaints were made by other patrons about their behavior.

Surveillance footage from the theater published by KUSA, an NBC affiliate in Denver, appears to show Boebert and a man being escorted from their seats. In the hall, Boebert is seen rebuking an usher, at one point giving him the middle finger.

As they were being escorted from the premises, according to the incident report, the pair made statements such as: “Do you know who I am?” and “I am on the board” and “I will be contacting the mayor.” Officers with the Denver Police Department responded to the incident and stayed in the lobby until the pair left the venue, the report says.

Drew Sexton, Boebert’s campaign manager, confirmed to The Washington Post that the congresswoman was escorted out of the performance, but he disputed the alleged behavior cited by the venue.

“I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of Beetlejuice,” he said in a statement. Sexton noted that the Denver Post, the first to report the story, has reviewed the show as “zany,” “outrageous” and a “lusty riot.”

Sexton denied that Boebert was vaping during “Beetlejuice,” saying that heavy fog machines and electronic cigarettes were used during the show, so there might have been “a misunderstanding from someone sitting near her.”

Boebert said on X, formerly Twitter, that she “did thoroughly enjoy the AMAZING Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!”

“Everyone should go see it if you get the chance this week and please let me know how it ends!” she wrote.

Denver Police Sgt. David Abeyta told The Post that the venue’s private security handled the situation, “so we actually never had any interaction with that incident.”

“It was resolved before we got involved,” he said.

Brian Kitts, director of marketing and communications for Denver Arts & Venues, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday morning. Kitts told the Denver Gazette that Boebert and her guest were booted after “numerous complaints” from fellow patrons about inappropriate behavior.

Before she was elected to Congress in 2020, Boebert was arrested or summoned at least four times, according to the Denver Post. Boebert, who represents a rural and heavily conservative part of western Colorado, was reelected last year after a recount confirmed she had won the closer-than-expected election. Her Democratic challenger, Adam Frisch, had argued that Boebert’s controversial comments and reputation as a firebrand Republican — she compared the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the Capitol to 1776, when the United States declared its independence — were a distraction for her district. She won by 546 votes.

Frisch is challenging Boebert again for her seat in 2024.

“Beetlejuice,” a Broadway adaptation of the 1988 Tim Burton film, is showing at the Buell Theatre until Sept. 17. The venue cautions that the musical “contains strong language, mature references, and a lot of the crazy, inappropriate stuff you would expect from a deranged demon.”

On Sunday, staff received three complaints about the couple sitting in Row E of the orchestra section, the report says. Multiple officials waited until the pair returned to their seats to give them a warning.

“I informed them that our usher team had noticed vaping and also that they were causing a disturbance for the area with noise, singing, using their cell phone, and that they need to be respectful to their neighbors,” an official wrote in the report. “Since, there was already multiple complaints, I informed the patrons that if there was another issue that they would be asked to leave.”

That’s when Boebert and her guest became “argumentative,” saying “they were in concert with everyone around them,” the report says. Five minutes later, theater officials got another report that the pair were being loud and recording the performance, according to the report. That’s when officials told Boebert and the man to leave.

“They told me they would not leave,” a venue official wrote. “I told them that they need to leave the theatre and if they do not, they will be trespassing. The patrons said they would not leave. I told them I would [be] going to get Denver Police. They said go get them.”

Minutes later, Boebert and her guest left. After they exited the theater, Boebert was seen twirling on the promenade while holding the man’s hand, according to surveillance video.

The man did not appear to be her husband, and his identity is unclear. Boebert announced in May that she was filing for divorce from her husband of almost two decades. Her husband reportedly threatened their neighbors last year in what authorities described as a neighborhood disturbance. No arrests were made in that case.

Sexton, the Boebert campaign manager, told The Post that Boebert appreciates the venue’s strict enforcement of its no-photo policy. The congresswoman “strongly encourages everyone to go see Beetlejuice,” adding: “But with a gentle reminder to leave their phones outside of the venue.”

BACKGROUND

Alexander Emanuel Simon (November 27, 1980) was born in Christiansted, US Virgin Islands to Rufus Emanuel Simon and Martha Maria Santiago. He has two older sisters and a younger brother.

He started his artistic career at 12, performing as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Island Center for the Performing Arts in Sunny Isles. At 13, he began Ballet Technique with Pointe Dance Academy in La Grande Princesse.

He was active with the Mixed Concert Chorus, Drama Ensemble, Graphic & Fashion Design, Pageantry, and Modern-Jazz Dance Company with Lisa Lenhardt. He was noticed when he performed a principal role in Lorraine F. Joseph’s Purgatory Experience of Booker T. Washington Jones. He earned a scholarship to study at Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico. He received a scholarship for summer intensive summer training at the Joffrey Ballet School. He has studied with the Music and Motion Academy of Dance and Street Theatre Dance Ensemble.

He enrolled at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he majored in Dance Education, qualifying for a teaching certificate. He auditioned and became a member of the Eleone Dance Theatre. He was invited as a guest choreographer to the V.I. Hal Jackson Talented Teen Pageant. He worked with The Merriam Theater. He became the principal dancer with the internationally renowned Koresh Dance Company.

He performed with the ensemble at Cerritos Performing Arts Center and he was at Annenberg Theater. He performed at the Reichhold Center for the Arts on St. Thomas and conducted a master class. He returned to his native island to found Cruzan Dance, Inc., comprising Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, Cultural, Tap, and Hip Hop. The name changed to Cruzan Dance Company.

He held annual presentations at Christiansted’s Island Center for the Performing Arts and The Reichold Center for the Arts. He performed throughout the US and the Caribbean, including the Capitol Arts Theater and Coral Spring Center for the Arts.

He performed in the 1st Anniversary of Patrick Swayze’s Dirty Dancing Celebration fight against Pancreatic Cancer. He was a guest choreographer for the NBA Miami Heat Dance Team. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
