If you're stressed about the election and want a distraction, check out my free collection of poems! And if you're registered to vote in the US and haven't yet, VOTE!! Today's the day. Either way, it's a historic moment, and now is the time to make our voices heard 💥

I'm not asking for money lol but once again, my ebook, "Modern Despair : Art Imitates Life", which is a collection of found poems that I created using comments on social media sites, is available for free on my page! I've said this a few times, but it feels more important now than ever to try and share my work. I'm grateful for any support! Please share/download/tell your friends, etc! 🤗✍🏼💥
From my intro 😅🙈✨:
*A note to the reader, as the 2024 election approaches: First and foremost, the majority of these poems are satire, with metaphors meant to be a comedic and artistic expression reflecting the illusory world of social media and “fake news”. Some of these poems will not be easy to read; some will make you angry; some will make you sad; some may make you laugh; and some may even make you reconsider a long-held belief (or double-down on it), but I want you to sit with the feelings that surface, and then ask yourself why you feel that way. Are you upset at the injustice, or are you upset because you feel personally attacked or offended?  If you’re reading this as a Trump supporter, I don't want to blame or shame you, and I may not even be able to change your mind, but I'm asking that you approach these poems with an open heart and mind, and be willing to consider an alternative perspective. It's not personal, and it's not an assault on your rights or beliefs. You matter as much as anyone else, and I hope you can see that I genuinely want the best for us all.  If you're reading this as Trump, sorry dude, but what can I say? Some people hate you; some people love you. Your words and actions have consequences and can speak for themselves, but they are also fodder for content for millions around the world, so here we are. What you do or say next is up to you.  If you're reading this as a billionaire/mega-multimillionaire, do better. That's really all I have to say to you.  If you're reading this as a publisher, I might be open to discussing a book deal haha (and on the off chance you're reading this as Jim Carrey, would you be interested in collaborating on illustrations? 😅🤷🏻‍♀️) And to anyone else reading, thank you, truly. Please also approach these poems with an open mind. It's not all awful, and if we work together with empathy and understanding, we can help shift the tide of fear and hatred. Despite the anger and vitriol in some of these poems, I don't want us to turn on each other even more (that's the legit opposite of what I want.) Obviously we know shit’s fucked, but what's done is done, and we can pass blame and conspiracy theories back and forth, or we can find a way to overcome our differences and work together to bring stability, safety, and peace into our communities, and accountability to those who deserve it.  Thanks again, Chelcie"

Another day, another #poem ✍🏼💥
"with his words and deeds,
Judgement day arrived in Washington, which was the theater of a bloody revolt.
lawmakers gather here the several hundred representatives
in a trap that led to the Institutional Upheavals
of the Capitol that has housed legislatures for most of America's two centuries.
It was left to their monstrous personas.
And this kind of fall could be catastrophic.
The theatrical staging and new legislative body
established a quota of men to support his scheme.
from Capitol to White House,
moral concerns had been replaced by this idealized holiness.
Many of the reputed gave voice to the beliefs of a
extravagant, solitary, paranoiac-critical political climate
to be admitted among the number of championed authorities
consumed in American business.
More able to be compensated by a government program—
focused on them, and others of their ilk, they prospered.
Their presence became constantly distracted and never developed strong powers.
great lawmen were treated to a public show of ASS
inside the mouths of the rich.
Even passive persons were drawn in.
simple notes; it doesn't take long before our minds go into panic mode.
Nearby, the Lincoln Memorial shimmers in the Reflecting Pool, a mirror
also reflected changes in political correctness, problems in need of correction.
The myth of a bottomless well of profits died also."
(& casual reminder my e-book is completely free to download on my page. It may not be much, but I'm trying to do my part to fight the hate and tyranny 😅🤞🏼I appreciate any shares/downloads/support!)

Hi Tumblr!
I don't really post anything personal or much of my art here, but I want to share my new collection of poems for anyone who'd like to read. "Modern Despair: Art Imitates Life" is a collection of found poems that I made from public comments on social media platforms to serve as a commentary on recent events in the US.
You can download it for free on my new site because knowledge is power and ff a paywall 🤣 if you like it, please feel free to share with your friends ✨🤗

Today's poem, no title. 2024.
Technology had become a freed genie in the 19th century.
careful men disdained, results may vary. but the lure beckons.
Wooden eyes scan lost horizons on social media.
in a planned utopia filled with unexpected twists, the highest priorities are prefabricated,
conveying a distorted sense of false prosperity.
increasingly shrouded in mystery,
the romance of technology was seen as a symbol of the new age.
convincing illusions resembling power referred to the 'reshaping' of the world
for them to double as an escape artist, all while
Elsewhere: in this city of memorials to a nation,
our taxpayer money was changing hands quickly.
they hover ominously, pushing beyond the margins of the finer things in life,
watching people that have transformed, not out of piety,
with no self-awareness as to what was happening.
Perhaps because we are somewhat detached, half human, half robot
we all see a reverence for a poorly defined concept:
the ultimate malevolent monstrosity, thrive as a commercial success,
chartered by Congress.
But other opportunities vanished.
All living things ceased to be useful in the new era,
a poignancy that becomes vividly real and closer to
the most senseless acts of violence ever perpetrated on the justice and freedom.
Resentment and fear are powerful
and the cumulative character of change was wasteful spending of the monarchy had
increased the American public's awareness of societal control.
Buoyed by the onslaught of "hysteria",
the restlessness that carried the power of resistance became a totemic act.
Determination embarked on a thorny path of reassessment and rehabilitating the system.
There is no new thing to be said
now is the time for action.
