@rawlinsbriggs location: Parco Savello  notes: rawlins briggs
This city was off its fucking rocker. Micah had to wonder why he still lived here but in truth this was the first place he’d really put down roots since Aurora. Sitting in a meeting with a room full of people who didn’t remember anything about Mercuralia beyond the fact that they’d lost a lot of money, it was sort of surreal. Micah had been scared out of his mind, and triggered by the fact that his father had apparently let Aurora get off scot free. Knee bouncing, he lit a cigarette as he moved to make idle conversation with the man next to him. “Dungeons and Dragons?” Micah asked as he pointed towards the dice set of the man sat next to him, “Those are nice man.”

@rawlinsbriggs location: Laboratory: Labyrinth notes: stick with him baby girl he’s got you
Magic disrupted, Renfield’s shapeshifting was effecting, tentacles wormed their way from his clothes as the eyes of a cephalopod bore over normally dark hues. Mottled skin, his features remained similar as he managed to at least keep that much of himself, otherwise Renfield would have been nothing more but a pair of eyes in an infinite den of tentacles, each with a mind of their own. The sharp, eldritch mind rifled through the applications of Trivia’s blood, the disturbance that had occurred in the weeks prior, and the sudden insane pressure that had brought them all here. Modern science couldn’t offer a complete explanation of reality because of fundamental limits to the knowledge it could provide, rates of time run differently given relative motion, and space and time formed together to make spacetime. In this time was a coordinate, fixed and absolute, a portion of a formula that made up reality: a sum or aggregate of all that is real or existent in a system.
“Someone’s disrupted the flow of time.” Renfield observed out loud with a pedantic sigh, dark hues watching the rolling hallway in front of them that shifted every which way in a seemingly nonsensical pattern. His body twitched with independent thought, less inhibited by the skin he usually wore, the eldritch creature’s mind wandered more freely. Magic wouldn’t work here, at least not correctly, Renfield was fortunate that he was able to maintain as human an appearance as he was, brought this close by his understanding of what was occurring here. An equation worked its way over his limbs, multiple levels as his mind applied its understanding of eldritch teachings and reality: as it happened, a specialty of his. “If we wait here, this place is going to collapse around us.” An absence of death, removal from space and time entirely - they’d be trapped in a void for eternity. Renfield moved forward.

Rochelle Ranch Golf Course - Rawlins, WY
Tumblr media
Who would have thought that one could find a beautiful, sprawling 18-hole golf course in Rawlins, Wyoming? We played this course 3 times during our stay in the area. It was $35 to walk 18 holes, trust me when I say you definitely get your steps in when you walk this course! The front 9 meander between the clubhouse and I-80, the back 9 are situated west and north of the clubhouse. The entrance to the course is marked by a western ranch gateway:

The course is in beautiful shape, with the exception of a multitude of prairie dog holes (which I did manage to lose a golf ball into on one round!!) and a couple of territorial terns on one of the tee boxes! The fairways were wide and well-groomed, but you definitely paid the price if you hit into the rough and native landscape (not that we did that....). The forward tees were reasonable, but the course is very long, 7925 yards from the tips. Lots of pronghorns, wide-open views, and native landscape - it was a fun course to walk and play. We did encounter vicious deer flies, wish I had bought stock in a bug spray company for our trip so far this year!

Gorgeous greens - the rolls were true and consistent (unlike our putting).

This golf course is the site of a pretty impressive record!
Tumblr media
A great stroll through the Wyoming countryside - a few blind shots on the course, we did much better on our second and third times around the course. We gave this course a rating of 9 stars out of 10. One of the most imaginatively (is that a word?) laid out courses that we have played. Their signature hole is #13, a par 4 that dog-legs around a large pond (filled with pelicans, BTW). Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the hole. Many locals say that you have to try, just for fun, to try to reach the green by hitting over the lake - a good 250+ yard shot from the white tees. Doug wasn't willing to lose a golf ball and it was really windy (surprise), so he didn't try it. I just smiled and took the long way around, that shot is not in my wheelhouse! Walking the course was definitely a work out, we were weary after each round. However, we would recommend that you stop and play if you are ever cruising through Rawlins!

"Hellllooo-" Kadir declared as he let himself into the other's apartment and pointed behind him with his thumb, "did you know your door was unlocked? You should really be more careful, just about anyone could walk in here." Kadir was feeling... He was managing, the regiment that he had put himself under was working most of the time; he felt truly fortunate to finally be able to use his own body and metabolism as a guinea pig for different experiments. The leech needed to find a way to manage his more violent impulses long-term, what better way than to attend an event crowded by supernaturals. "Is this what you're wearing?" Kadir wasn't criticizing, there was a coffee stain on his cuffed jeans but he was suddenly wondering if he was underdressed; he'd missed Lupercalia because he was trapped underground completely petrified last year.

World Theatre Day
Magical places where stories come to life, the stage is a portal to other worlds, transporting audiences by the power of live performance.
Dating back a few thousand years, theatre is a unique and interesting part of culture that has certainly evolved over time. The word “theatre” gets its roots from an ancient Greek word that means “a place for seeing”, and that definition continues to be meaningful today. Even after so many centuries, theatre continues to be used as a way to not only tell stories and see things, but to make an impact on culture and society at large.
Whether writing and directing, producing and acting, creating beautiful costumes or doing lighting and scene design, theatre is a medium of art that requires a wide range of talented artists involved in a variety of ways. And World Theatre Day is here to show appreciation for those who give their time and talent to make the show go on.
History of World Theatre Day
World Theatre Day was initiated in 1962 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) as a day to pay respect to and celebrate the beauty, creativity, hard work and artistry that goes into all of the aspects of theatre production. And it was meant to remind people about the great power that theatre can bring about, whether it is celebrated locally or globally.
Today, the World Theatre Day continues to be sponsored by ITI, which is the World Organization for Performing Arts, and the day also under the patronage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
In 2022, World Theatre Day celebrated its 60th anniversary with a worldwide online celebration. The Opera, Theatre and Festival Director, Peter Sellers, was the host of the event and offered the annual message. In addition, the celebration included a platform for theatrical expression that offered performances from 37 different emerging artists that hailed from countries all over the globe. These performances were recorded and broadcast on the ITI website so that they could be viewed from anywhere in the world.
World Theatre Day continues to be an important time to celebrate each year for those who support and love the theatre. Patrons of local theatre, costume designers, musicians, script-writers, set designers, actors and so many others will take delight in raising awareness for the observance of this day that is so vital to the arts.

How to Celebrate World Theatre Day
Have tons of fun enjoying World Theatre Day with a delightful variety of ways to celebrate. Get started with some of these ideas:
Visit a Local Theatre
World Theatre Day brings with it an amazing opportunity to enjoy and celebrate by catching a show – or even a couple of shows! Whether the show takes place on the day or sometime near it on the calendar, a perfect way to celebrate would be to book tickets for an onstage performance. No matter if it is a comedy, tragedy, musical, drama or even an opera, viewing a theatre performance live and in-person is the best way to pay homage to this amazing form of art.
Supporting the arts locally is a great way to celebrate and raise awareness for the day. It might be a play put on by an elementary school or high school, or it might be a community theatre. Even better than showing support by buying tickets to just one show, go ahead and enjoy the fun of season tickets for the whole family!
Get Involved with a Local Theatre
The need for talented people to volunteer is a vital part of putting on local community theatre shows. Those who are performers may be interested in trying out for a lead role or just a supporting part. Musicians might want to try out to be part of the orchestra or band ensemble for musical performances. Graphic designers might even be needed to design marketing items.
And those who don’t feel artistic in those ways don’t need to be left out! Administrative folks can work with the advertising crew or ticket sales team to make sure the box office runs as smoothly as possible. Everyone is needed to pull off a great show, and World Theatre Day is just the time to get involved.
Catch the World Theatre Day Message
Each year, it is tradition for the International Theatre Institute to provide a message that brings greetings and encouragement for those who are involved with, or simply appreciate, the theatre in its various forms. The theme promoted for World Theatre Day is the same each year: Theatre and a Culture of Peace.
These messages are typically translated into a variety of languages so that people from countries and cultures all over the globe can hear, understand and enjoy. Today, it is easier than ever to get access to these annual messages because they are recorded and placed online at the World Theatre Day website.
Raise Awareness About World Theatre Day
One important part of keeping theatre alive is by sharing with friends and family members about the importance of theatre in the world today. Learn some factors about why live theatre is so important in the digital age, and then perhaps share them to start a conversation with others.
Perhaps some of these ideas would be good for starting an encouraging conversation about theatre in honor of World Theatre Day:
Live theatre helps promote social dialogue, discourse and possibly social change. Theatre can be used to identify and address problems, listen to opposing points of view and create opportunities for self-examination.
Theatre promotes literacy and education. Students who are involved in the theatre have been shown in studies to have better academic performance at school.
Live theatre creates community. Reminding people that they are not alone, theatre builds opportunity for people in groups and communities to collaborate and enjoy shared experiences with others. It’s a way to promote human connection not only with the cast, but also with a live audience.
Theatre helps to open minds. Offering unique and different perspectives on a vast array of topics, theatre brings people the opportunity to see the world from a different point of view with new and diverse voices.

"Sometimes I feel like you don't even listen to me." Narcissus stood there now, watching the other for a few moments. He'd been spending more and more time with the archdruid, Octavian, and it was become more than concerning. Not that Narcissus was at all jealous or insecure – that was way beneath him. No, he just didn't like the idea of getting involved in all the drama. The gods were still pressing on the edges of his mind, and every now and then, Narcissus wondered how bad that life could be. But he'd leave Rawlins behind, and for now, they were boyfriends. As he'd told him already. "Why do you have to be involved?"
