So, I will now make batfam headcannons because I am bored and procrastinating writing again (my readers hate me, I know it) and so I present:

How each Bat kid handles food, specifically sharing / wasting food. (with fanon because fandom runs on fanon--) This is all based off my own family, btw.

Starting with Dick: He has no problem eating random food he found lying out, food is food, and he isn't fond of wasting food. (This often leads to him getting yelled at for "stealing" food, but he is the eldest and a firm believer in finders keepers.) This also includes members of the JL, Titans, et cetra... He has licked drugs off the ground, what do you want from him?

Jason will absolutely not waste food under any circumstance, if you waste food in his presence you better expect a scolding because "CHILDREN ARE DYING, TIM!" he is also the guy who donates half his kitchen. Weekly. Because he has this habit of over buying and over stocking his kitchen and doesn't realize till he gets home and tries to put everything away, only to realize he bought to much BUT THE STORE HAD GOOD BUY AND GET ONES, DAMMIT! But he doesn't share food or eat food off others plates UNLESS he likes that person.

Sure, he'll snatch food off Bruce's plate before telling him he despises him, same for Tim, but they both have observed him enough to know he won't even touch the food at a gala because rich people hands? Ew.

Cassandra sneaks into Tim's apartment for food, she sneaks into Bab's apartment for food, she will steal food without a single care in the world. Jason just went grocery shopping? She's stealing those chips she likes. Damian left a salad on the counter? Hers now. She doesn't mean to steal it, it's just that before she was even adopted she did this, and she isn't stopping now. Similar to Jason, she won't steal it unless she likes the person, and even then it has to be her family, and only those she calls family.

Tim is an absolute menace, he'll make food then decide he doesn't want it AFTER HE ALREADY MADE IT and then goes out of his way to find someone else to eat it, he is the reason Alfred the cat, Titus, and Ace are gaining weight and Damian could kill him for it because they're on specific diets. But Tim does not care, because he has been yelled at by Jason so many times about wasting food that he simply has to give his food to someone. This makes Dick and Tim also have a symbiotic relationship.

(Dick, minding his own business, literally doing anything:

Tim, walking up to him with a plate of food, either half eaten or still warm, or cold because he made it and forgot about it hours ago:

Dick, not caring at all, taking the plate and eating it, because food is food:)

But Tim will under no circumstance do the same. He will not eat or even touch another persons plate because he is missing a spleen and has seen Dick stick his hands in drugs and LICK THEM, he has seen Damian pet a cow with his bare hands, he has seen Stephanie forget to wash her hands before cooking. Tim does love his family, but they are riddled with disease and Tim can't risk that. He won't even leave his drinks unattended around them because he has paranoia that they'll try to drug him. Damian brought him coffee one time and he dumped it out in front of the kid, because he will NOT be caught slacking.

Duke doesn't really understand his siblings food dynamic thing they got going, it's so incredibly confusing trying to figure out their weird food rules. He tries to understand them all, piece it all together, he makes LISTS and NOTES trying to understand, but he just can't grasp it. So, when he makes food, he either makes the exact amount he knows he'll eat so he doesn't waste any, or he makes enough for everyone to have some, because what do you mean Dick just steals everyone's food? If Jason's over is he gonna scold him if he wastes a single crumb? Cass just... Waits till you're not looking? Duke never did waste food before, but now he thinks it might be a literal crime if he does it in Wayne manor, despite them being rich.

He also sneaks food to Alfred the cat and the dogs, but he'll continue to let Tim take the blame on it all.

Damian, similarly to Tim, is paranoid about others feeding him, sure his body isn't affected by most poisons or toxins after growing up where he grew up, but he will also not be caught slacking. Does he waste food? No. He feeds it to Bruce and Bruce alone. Nobody else is allowed to eat after him except his Father. He will NOT have his DNA stolen, because again, he is as paranoid as Tim and Bruce and has met Kon.

This took a while for him to even accept food from Alfred, and he refuses to eat Bruce's cooking for different reasons (that man can't cook), and he is still reluctant to accept Jason's cooking, but outside Alfred and Jason? Damian will not be touching, looking, or eating it.

Stephanie gives no f*cks. She'll eat after any of them, she used to straight up steal Tim's food when they dated, like order a salad and when it came to the table she changed her mind and swapped hers and Tim's plates. Now she does the same with Cass, only Cass has learnt by now what Stephanie actually wants, then when the food gets to the table, she swaps them herself. As for wasting food? She feeds it to stray cats, or if she's at the manor, she'll feed it to Titus, Ace, and Alfred the cat right in front of Damian. They both agree to blame Tim.

(Steph: I want a burger.

Cass: No. You want a hotdog and fries.

Steph: Pfft, I think I know what I wanna eat, Cass.

Steph: So--

Cass, already swapping their plates around, giving Steph her hotdog and fries: I know.)

BONUS:

Bruce, while raising Dick, straight up handed him his plate if he caught him looking at it, and said he was allowed to eat whatever he found lying around. This results in Dick eating leftover, week old Batburger off the car floor, and he tries to correct himself, but the day he hears that Dick licked drugs off the literal ground, he realizes he messed up. Severely.

Bruce still donated food weekly even after Jason died, and would forget Tim wasn't Jason and push his plate toward Tim whenever he ate over at the manor, expecting him to steal some of whatever he was eating, and made sure to buy Jason's favorite foods even after he died. Bruce never touched them himself, but he was slightly suspicious when they randomly started going missing years later (cue Cass in the shadows--)

Bruce, before adopting Tim, would be so confused when Tim randomly handed him plates of food, half eaten, just cooked, or cold, and he walked away. Bruce soon realized it was because Tim noticed he'd lost weight after Jason's death but didn't wanna directly confront him about it. Bruce appreciated it. But it later became second nature for Tim to randomly make food, then forget why he made it, or he made it and simply wasn't hungry but felt the need to find someone to eat it.

Bruce semi-panics when Damian later comes along and randomly hands him food, insisting he and he only can eat it, before walking away. Turns out Bruce is just the chosen one.

Bruce hates going out to eat with Stephanie-- she steals his food, the entire plate, every time. But he does it anyways, because Cass also comes along and Stephanie makes her ask Bruce every single time, and Bruce can't say no to Cass.

Bruce eats after all his children, he's at the point he doesn't even look to see who's handing him it, he simply takes the plate, bowl, or whatever, and eats it, because Tim will still seek him and hand him food, Damian will do the same, Jason uses him as a taste tester, Dick once handed him a weed brownie to see if he'd eat it. He did. Without any thought behind those eyes...

The Bad Batch Series Finale

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is a vent post. I’m angry and hurt. After I get this out of my system I’ll be more open to discussing the positives of the episode.

Hooo boy. Okay. I am… less than satisfied?

Quick rundown since I haven’t posted much of anything Bad Batch related: Tech is my favorite Batch member, immediately followed by Crosshair. I’m also a HUGE Republic Commando Nerd (read all the books, played the game, despised Bad Batch as a whole initially because I felt the commandos were being unfairly ignored, can sing + translate Vode An, etc.) and Scorch was my favorite Delta. The Bad Batch grew on me shortly after Season 1 finished up, and I immediately latched onto Tech when I began watching. He’s the reason I watched the first two seasons. (Crosshair + delusions about Tech were the combined force behind watching the final season)

NOW, onto my actual thoughts on the episode, in no semblance of order because my brain is still trying to process, Ft. Cry count:

• Wish Tech was here. He would’ve loved the Zillo being freed.

• “‘Cause I’d do the same thing” no you wouldn’t. Fives would’ve. The you I fell in love with would’ve yelled at Fives about it being a terrible idea and then promptly gone along with it anyway. That said it was a really cute moment and I loved his nonchalant little “come on” afterwards.

• C: “Echo or Omega?” W&H: “Omega” THEY KNOW THEIR GIRL SO WELL

• When Hemlock went to get the operatives I got excited thinking maybe, just maybe we’d get Tech back.

• CROSSHAIR LOST HIS FREAKING HAND!?!? WHAT THE HECK!?! I will never stop being salty about this. He’s been through enough. [Near Tears]

• Rampart sucks

• Nala Se got to blow stuff up and I appreciate that even if I don’t really like her

• I’m glad Wrecker’s okay. He had me scared for a bit. Hunter, conversely, never really did? He’s Omega’s Dad, he had to survive.

• Did anybody else see that one operative whose helmet seemingly had goggles built into it? We had a lingering shot on his helmet for a few seconds and they looked like a red version of Tech’s goggles.

• SCORCH IS DEAD AND YOU’D BETTER BELIEVE I’M MAD ABOUT IT! [First shedding of tears]

• HECK YEAH, HEMLOCK IS DEAD!!! [Tears of relief combined with grief over Scorch]

• I’m so glad Omega hugged Crosshair first. I fully expected her to just run to Hunter, and Crosshair needed that hug.

• Echo’s goodbye was disrespectful. 0/10. He’s family and they don’t even care that he’s leaving???

• SOMEONE IS MISSING FROM OUR NICE LITTLE GROUP SHOT!

• I never really got super invested in the dynamic between Omega and Hunter, but the ending between them was cute I guess.

• We were robbed. We could’ve gotten Crosshair and Wrecker as old men and we were robbed.

• Tech is dead. Like, seriously, really and truly, dead. As a delusional “Tech’s alive guys, trust me” fan, it feels like he just died all over again. I’ll talk more about this later because I’m not over it. [Que sob-fest]

alright, circling back around to my main gripes, in order of appearance:

#1. Scorch.

I hate how they handled him. At first when he showed up I got super excited. That was my boy! In the Bad Batch show!! He’s making an appearance!!! Maybe they’ll do something with the Delta boys!!

Even as the episodes went on and I started to suspect where his path was leading, I consistently would go “Scorch!!! <3” every episode, because that is my boy and I love him dearly.

The levels of offended I am on Scorch’s behalf are not within my ability to express with words. The complete and utter disrespect he was shown over his time on the show is appalling. Why bring him in if you’re going to drain him of all his personality, make him have zero plot relevance, and then murder him?! They could easily have made a new clone for that, as seen by the number of operatives who exist and got 0.5 minutes of screen time.

But no. They brought in a beloved character with 10 seconds of canonical screen time prior, stripped him of everything that made him lovable, didn’t even have him DO ANYTHING, and then murdered him. It feels like a spit in the face and a kick to the gut all at once.

I will mourn. I’ve already cried and I’ll probably cry again. But right now I’m angry and I think Scorch deserves to have people be angry about how he was treated.

#2. Tech

Yes. I admit to having been a “trust me guys, Tech’s alive” person. I will also admit that at the end of episode 13 I wanted him to stay dead because I had zero faith they could satisfactorily bring him back.

My gripe is not with him staying dead. Yes, it feels like losing him all over again. Yes, I will mourn him again. Yes. That sucks. It’s not what’s making me mad.

What makes me mad is how his death was handled.

• It served ZERO purpose narratively other than to up the stakes and make us worry about whether anyone else would die (Spoiler alert: They didn’t. Tech was the only one who died) • Nobody mourned him. No one seemed affected by his death at all. No one cared. I don’t care what anyone says, that will NEVER be okay. • The first actual mention of Tech *dying* was in the finale. Sure, we’ve had name drops and goggle appearances, but actually talking about what happened? One line. One. Freaking. Line.

I feel like I’ve been slapped in the face, you know? He deserved better and so did we. He was a part of that family and they couldn’t even be bothered to address the responses to his death. He was beloved by many of us and they couldn’t even respect him or his fans enough to treat his death like something to be mourned.

That’s wrong, no matter how you look at it.

What do you think of Natsuhiko as a character? I personally don't like him all that way, granted it's pretty surface level. While I wouldn't say I hate or despise him, I do find him a tad irritating in the beginning of the series. However later chapters have piqued my interest regarding his character as a whole, and I would also like to ask about his relationship with Sakura. At first glance it seemingly falls into a dynamic like AoiAoi, where the girl shows disinterest while the guy does not stop with his pursuits. Of course now we have more insight on AoiAoi, but this isn't yet the case for Sakuhiko. So by extension, what do you take from their dynamic?

Thank you for this question, Sakura and Natsuhiko are two of my favorites but I haven’t gotten the chance to talk abt them much yet!! (I say “favorites” but they’re 9 and 10th on my character ranking respectively so do with that info what you will lol)

Starting off with Natsuhiko, I didn’t like him much at first either. In fact, when I first watched the anime, I fucking hated this dude on sight. Like I couldn’t even stand to look at him, he gave me frat boy vibes and I didn’t trust him. When I realized he was going to be a prominent character I dreaded it. I’m not sure when my opinion started to change, maybe around the door arc?? As a Natsunene enjoyer that one’s a favorite of mine lol. Tbh he still annoys me sometimes, he’s just so shady mixed with a personality that’s made to be irritating and it makes me roll my eyes so hard. I feel bad saying that bcuz a lot of my moots LOVE him but fear not, he’s in my top 10 for a reason

As much as I love Sakura and Natsuhiko, it’s hard to say much about either of them with what little info we’ve been giving. I have to laugh at ppl who think the current arc of the manga is going to be the last one because that would likely mean the series would end without either of them ever getting their time to shine (despite all the recent lore that’s been dropped, we still don’t know much about Natsuhiko). However, what we’ve seen of them so far has been super compelling

For Natsuhiko, I like him most when he’s with the Broadcasting Crew. I know he’s almost always with them but I mean specifically when we see the side of his character that acts like a true upperclassman. I like when he’s visibly annoyed with Tsukasa, it shows a different side to his laidback personality. Despite how chill he appears, he seems to have a short temper, it’s just something he keeps inside. I also think him being an ASMRist in the Monster Nursery au is so hilariously on brand. And tbh I could yap forever about what the anime did with the Monster Nursery au!! I can’t remember if Natsuhiko was the undercover researcher in the original au or not but regardless I love the route they took. If I have time I will absolutely write a Sakuhiko fic set in that universe someday bcuz they give me major Spy X Family vibes

I need more details on why he can’t die and how his blood kills people. Is he from an exorcist clan??? Is he part supernatural??? What is his deal??? I’m very interested to learn more about him. He’s always been a suspicious character so I like that we’re starting to get more insight on him

Now onto Sakuhiko…*dreamy sigh*. I love Sakuhiko so much. They’re one of my top ships for TBHK, at one point they were even my favorite. I do headcanon them as sapphics, with Sakura being a nonbinary lesbian and Natsuhiko being a genderfluid bisexual. I have written a few fics for them on ao3 so if you’re looking for some good sapphic Sakuhiko stuff…🤭

I see where the AoiAoi parallels come from on a surface level but beyond that I feel as though the two ships are quite different! First off, Aoi never shuts Akane down the way Sakura does with Natsuhiko. Sakura hits him every time he tries to make a move on them, a clear sign of rejection coupled with berating him verbally. They make their disinterest abundantly clear, although it’s highly implied that the ship isn’t as one-sided as it appears. There are moments where Sakura looks at Natsuhiko with fondness, and times where they even seem to flirt with him! Natsuhiko himself says that Sakura just has a different way of showing their love for him, very similar to the Minamoto Typical Sadism I write so often lol. It’s not a TBHK couple without a little sadomasochism (not the weird kinky kind just the bullying kind, the majority of them are babies. Normally I wouldn’t feel the need to specify that but this is Tumblr)

Anyways this is very different from how Aoi “rejects” Akane. Every time she turns him away, she does so in a way that will encourage him to keep trying. With a cute smile and a hand to her face, rating his pursuits so he’ll be motivated to try and do better next time. She never gives him less than 2 points (as far as I remember), and she’s not even mean to him until she’s under the potion in chapter 69. I’m pretty sure Aoi would cry at the thought of treating Akane the way Sakura treats Natsuhiko, she’s pretty down bad and dependent on him in certain ways. She shuts down at the thought of Akane ever moving on, so she would never reject him so bluntly and risk losing his approval. Sakura doesn’t seem to care what Natsuhiko thinks of them, they’re a very independent as opposed to Aoi who is more on the dependent side of things. If Sakura were revealed to have been super clingy and emotionally attached to Natsuhiko this whole time, that would be weird writing. But Aoi’s attachment to Akane has been implied since the Confession Tree arc

The differences between Natsuhiko and Akane are so interesting to me because they get compared so often. The biggest thing I notice is the level of respect they have for their partners. Akane is overly obsessive and a yandere at times but he never actually attempts to touch Aoi the way Natsuhiko frequently does with Sakura (not in a perverted way like Hanako but he still makes attempts to take their hand or hold them in a way we never see Akane do with Aoi). The first time we really see Akane being physically aggressive with Aoi was in ch.69, when he was initially trying to forcefully stop her from a suicide attempt. Not saying he handled it right but I try to cut him some slack bcuz it was an insanely tense situation, I myself wouldn’t have handled it perfectly.

After that, he kisses her hand to apologize for saying he hates her (many fans mistake this scene for him ignoring her consent but if we focus on the setup, that wasn’t the situation at all- the kiss was an apology and Aoi’s “don’t touch me” didn’t even get a full speech bubble). At that point she’s blushing and leaning into him, no longer trying to run away. She looks conflicted bcuz it’s a very emotional scene, but she’s clearly calmed down from how she was feeling before. By the time they kiss, she’s fully clinging onto him. After that he’s more causally touchy with her, like holding her hand or helping her get around No.6’s boundary. Aside from official arts we never really see Sakura leaning into or reciprocating Natsuhiko’s touch. They appear to enjoy his company, letting him tag along everywhere they go; but they’re not easily moved by affection the way Aoi is. That doesn’t stop Natsuhiko from being pushy, but I will give him that he knocks it off after Sakura rejects him. I swear I’m not trying to cancel this dude, I’m just saying he has less regard for boundaries the way Akane does

Another thing is reciprocation. During the Clock Keepers arc, Akane tells Nene that he plans to love and support Aoi even if she never loves him back. This means he expects nothing in return for all the love he gives her, all he wants is to make her feel loved. And if she enjoys receiving daily confessions, he’ll gladly make a fool out of himself each time. In the same scene he talks about Aoi’s past with having to put up with creepy guys, which explains why he’s so overprotective and hostile to men who want to pursue her. We see later in the manga he’s not as bothered when he realizes Teru’s feelings for her are genuine. Once he realizes Teru respects Aoi the same way he does, and that he won’t hurt her like he does with Akane, he begins to view Teru as healthy competition. This is much different from the way he treats Yokoo and Satou in ASHK when he catches them spying on Aoi

Also in ASHK, we see Natsuhiko attempt to give Sakura a love potion. I know this was literally in a comedy spin off but it stands out to me because Akane would never do this to Aoi. He respects her too much for that, he would never force her to reciprocate his feelings. Natsuhiko is a far more manipulative character, so it’s not all that surprising to me that he’d be okay with Sakura’s love being fake. He just wants a date with them, he doesn’t seem to care how he gets it. Again, I’m not trying to accuse him of being something he’s not, I want to make that very clear (think of Hanako, he’s known for being a perv but he would never intentionally make Nene upset or uncomfortable. Imo Natsuhiko is similar but in a different way, I wouldn’t call him a perv like Hanako but he’s a bit more possessive than the other characters). I see Sakuhiko as being on the more toxic end of TBHK ships as opposed to AoiAoi which has become more healthy recently. That’s not necessarily a problem with the pairing, just something I don’t see pointed out as often. And keep in mind that the toxicity is mutual, since Sakura knows Natsuhiko can’t die they regularly make attempts on his life and send him out to do dangerous missions. They’ve both got their quirks

One of my favorite things abt the ship is how Natsuhiko seems to know Sakura better than most people. More than Sakura is aware of, probably. I’m thinking specifically of that scene where Mitsuba asked if he could stay with the Broadcasting Crew and Sakura didn’t know how to respond so Natsuhiko answered for them. Sakura cares more deeply for people than they let on, and the only person who seems to recognize that is Natsuhiko. That’s so!! Fucking sweet to me!! They’re a toxic mess but they were made for each other and at the end of the day they’ll stay by each other’s sides. Natsuhiko would watch the world burn if it meant Sakura would look in his direction. Despite the themes of betrayal in his character, he is loyal to a fault when it comes to Sakura. I love that so much

Sometimes I wonder how serious the relationship is tho bcuz like…every time I see it written platonically absolutely nothing changes. Maybe Natsuhiko is there for ulterior motives and he’s just joking abt the flirting. I highly doubt that since TBHK is partially a romance but it’s a cool concept. I also love their ship trope, they remind me of Beast Boy and Raven. Grumpy X Sunshine except they’re both kinda shitty people. Peak

I hope you enjoyed this deep dive, and that I didn’t turn you away from the ship yapping abt their problems lol. To me toxic elements of ships are more things I love about them (within reason) because I love exploring character flaws and how people can overcome those in relationships. Or sometimes I just want to see them be terrible together. The duality of woman.

Edgar anon is back (＾ω＾) I'm still learning details about Edgar's backstory, it's definitely good to read into his stuff so I can't add much to my thoughts from there and won't elaborate too too much. He was extremely talented from a young age and receive the attention and praises from his family and people around him, but he had grown up to find he does not share the same views on art with anyone around him, including his mentor in his childhood who he refers to as a fraud and that nobody around him is worthy of discussing art with him ^^

He is portrayed as very stubborn, snobby and rude ,, which i *despise* how people either erase that from his personality, or make him change as soon as it comes to sexual exchanges. He feels as though everyone is below him so I see no reason why that wouldn't carry over to his intimate life yknow? Nothing wrong with being a pillow princess but every time someone erases big aspects of personality for their 'soft femboy edgar' I want to jump out a window

I don't know if I think he'd be a top by traditional standards, but definitely the dominant one. Power bottom or something, i don't know, just in charge. He has an ego and I feel hed love to feed it by having someone who'd listen to whatever he said even if it was mean/humiliating, so yeah definitely mean if anything. I think he'd like the power dynamic of having someone of higher status/taller height/stronger submit to him.

I also think he'd be into bloodplay, it's pretty much almost explicitly stated he started making paintings with his own blood and went to the manor to find and use other people's.

now that i have done that, I must say I do agree, he has a rude streak, not that it's entirely unwarranted, his family did die around him out of illness and negligence so I can't blame him for being distrusting in those around him. Whether his mentor was actually a fraud and whether the people around him were genuinely buttering him up because they wanted money and not because they liked his art....well jury is still out on that, unreliable narrators are a dime a dozen in this media so I'm hesitant to put full faith in his view of people and not just the ramblings of someone both paranoid and arrogant.

I digress though he does read as having quite the superiority complex with a for sure aura of judgement about him, so when people make him a bottom in canon x canon fics that just makes me feel that they want to humble that man professionally, in that case just write an x reader fic because I doubt his trust issues and personal arrogance would have him submitting to ANYONE in canon. soft femboy Edgar my ass. that guy's verbal jabs could kill a man, they just saw a guy who was vaguely twinkish and decided he was a whimpery sub. anyways !!!!! I fully salute your Edgar truth and think he would be into all sorts of powerplay, and his degradation would cut like a knife for sure for sure. I think with his whole thing of hating flattery because he thinks people are lying I think he would find it strangely enthralling to be insulted, like an argument could serve as foreplay honestly, or perhaps he would like to tame a brat. I could even see him enjoying degrading someone who would worship him as a form of ugly retribution for all the lies.

This fic really fucked me up bro.

The fucked up family dynamic. Kakashi not being able to ever come back to his timeline, never being able to go back to how everything was. Unintentionally abandoning his students and friends and indirectly causing their death.

Kakashi having to move on from everything he’s ever known, all he has, AGAIN. 💔💔

Oughhhh I’m unwell man, the ending was just so bittersweet, and with the sequel coming things are probably gonna get much worse before they get better. 1000000/10 we need more angst like this.

I do wonder one thing though: did the seal really erase people’s memories of you? Or did it really just transport you to another timeline in which you don’t exist, and bc the Hatake dgaf about the Outside they didn’t really notice? I’m just saying 🖐️😬🖐️ bc it seems Kakashi’s not returning to HIS Konoha. Never mind the time displacement, which was kind of a given, he straight up died at birth. It’s not that he’s been forgotten or erased completely, he existed and people remember his birth, he just didn’t survive. And him not being there changes A LOT for many characters (mainly team Minato). This is a completely different timeline, who knows what else changed with Sakumo there, what about Kannabi Bridge (which would have already happened)? does team Minato even exist, or were they put in different teams? Who would even be able to fill the spot where Kakashi once was, how will Kakashi react to being replaced?

Also, talking about the sequel: it’s gonna be interesting to see how Konoha reacts to Kakashi. A guy (probably kage level, it’s the least he deserves after all this) that appeared out of nowhere, has a sharingan, and is apparently related to one of the best shinobi of the village. Interesting mix. Oh and don’t even get me started on how Kakashi himself will react to being in (supposedly) another timeline, all he really wanted was to be reunited with his kids ��� now he won’t even get that bc while they may be the same person, they’re really not, and they never will be the same kids he knew (bc those died in the war, and he wasn’t there for them). WHAT THE FUCKK AAAAAAA

Actually do get started on Eleanor Vance from Shirley Jackson's Haunted house on the hill. I've been seeing snippets from it on your blog and I'm getting a bit curious now

i am always ready to talk about my favorite babygirl lol. i'll try not to get too spoilery in case you ever read the book, cause it really is fantastic. if you do ever read it tho, i think the main tws are implied religious/child abuse and suicide

anyway, the very first line's introducing Eleanor is so good. "The only person in the world she genuinely hated, now that her mother was dead, was her sister."

she spent much of her adult life caring for her sick mother, to the point where she became a shut in. it's left her kind of immature, and unsure of how to deal with other people. she lives with her sister, her brother in law, and her young niece. given that this is set in the late 50s, they all seem to look down on her as an unmarried woman, and she's not left with a lot of options. she's offered to stay at hill house, and secretly takes the car her and her sister share to get there

basically, this doctor invited some people to stay at a haunted house and record any supernatural happenings. the main cast is:

Dr Montague: they guy who invited them. he takes on a sort of dad fiend role? the way the characters almost seem to play house with each other is def a thing in the book

Luke Sanderson: rich young dude who's pretty immature and lax. his family owns hill house, and they sent him to stay technically as a chaperone of sorts, but moreso to try and get him to be more responsible

and then there's Theodora: no canonical last name, and reads aggressively as queer in some way. she had a major, break up style falling out with a friend/roomate of unspecified gender, which prompted her to come to Hill House

while there, Eleanor craves connection, she's a deeply lonely person, but she doesn't know how to deal with people. she's left constantly feeling like an outsider, and the book is intentionally vague on what the group seems to think of her

there's also a part of Eleanor that wants to be taken care of, given that she's been a caretaker for years, but she despises being infantilized, which is how she's often left feeling.

she has an intense relationship with Theo, which reads as her being a repressed lesbian with internalized homophobia. she's simultaneously repulsed and obsessed with her. Theo seems to treat it like a summer fling, or just having fun flirting, but Elanor takes it deeply seriously.

Theo and Luke seem to flirt sometimes too, and it reads as both of them just fucking around and having fun for the summer, but Eleanor gets pretty jealous at times. she claims to have a thing for Luke, but only thinks about him with contempt. don't get me wrong, she thinks really nasty things about Theodora, but it's clear they have a lot more of an actual relationship

spoiling this line cause it's probably one of my all time favs in the book. it's just so delicious. they're dynamic is honestly insane

anyways, Eleanor's loneliness and isolation from the group starts to grow, and it seems like the house preys on her for it. it's like a predator circling her, and you can feel it

Eleanor's desperate for connection, and something that understands her, and she starts to believe she's found it in the house. her name is pretty important here too. she doesn't like to go by Nell/Nellie, but that's often what the group calls her. especially Theo. i think it plays into the Infantilization thing. but the house knows her name, and calls her by Eleanor.

i'm totally rambling rn, but i don't wanna spoil anything too too major. but one of Shirley Jackson's strong suits is absolutely her characters. there's so many layers to them, and that really applies to Eleanor. i can't recommend the book enough, it is always rotating in my brain. have a bonus Luke and Elanor scene since i don't know how to end this off lol

I would put saki here too but she's not as relevant to toya and tsukasa's relationship. Basically Toya's dad is a huge BITCH (his name is literally harumichi. who carries a child around in their womb for 9 months only to name it harumichi. I'd cry.) who has forced Toya to play classical music for since he was old enough to reach the piano i guess a d toya HATE classical music and he meets tsukasa at school and they become friends and toyer tells stew caca about his dad and kasa's like "well actually u should do what you want. fuck what he says." toya then latches onto him as if he were his big brother

let me explain a little thing real quick before i say this next thing; project sekai has 3 sets of 2 biological siblings, those are the Shinonomes, the Hinomoris, and the Tenmas. Each family got events exploring their dynamic with their siblings.

I think it's worth mentioning that in the Hinomoris' and Shinonomes' events, any other characters that weren't virtual singers got 3* or 2* cards, while in the Tenmas' event, Toya also got a 4* just like Tsukasa and Saki.

okay so there's this boy named tsukasa tenma right. worlds #1 big brother and also universal big brother this guy cannot stop gaining siblings it's crazy he's a wonderful funny loud and optimistic guy. and there's also his little sister saki tenma. very cheerful and always tries to smile and wants to live her life to the fullest bc she was hospitalized for most of her younger years. they both love each other very much. then there's this boy named toya aoyagi who the siblings meet sometime as children and they all connect due to all three of their connections to playing piano. toya's very polite and serious and kind of oblivious but very kind. toya grows to despise classical music and playing piano & violin due to his father's very strict and harsh nature. at some point tsukasa tells toya that it's okay for him to do what he wants even if others disapprove. this gives toya the courage to quit doing classical music and do something for himself and due to this he is able to meet his partner and start doing street music which he ACTUALLY enjoys doing. toya looks up to tsukasa very much and tsukasa canonically thinks of him as a little brother. he also lends saki the plushies he wins from claw machines and worries and cares about her condition very much and while they're not as close as toya is with tsukasa due to how often she was hospitalized as a child they still care about each other deeply.

basically tsukasa and saki are a better family for toya than his actual family and. and. i'm inconsolable about them <//3

Aurinko Crime Family:

Queer! Space! Pirates!! It's kinda your typical "it started as a heist but along the way we became family" story, but in space. And not a single person is cishet. An ex private investigator and sharpshooter with only one eye, his very cool and smart hacker assistant and ex lover thief who he ran away from, because he has problems basically get adopted by a cool crimeboss lady with a metal stomach, her wife, who is a doctor and also generally pro stabbing people, and a big dude, who gives great, but often cryptic advice. Oh, also a car that isn't a car. All of their dynamics are awesome. Buddy definitely has mom vibes. Juno and Vespa definitely have a sibling dynamic. The movie nights. Aaaaaaaahhh!

Y'ever think of what Aloysius and Lardna are like in Intermission? Yeah, they both suck, but they are both crucial to Porky's character, so they remain unavoidable. (You can pick Ness's parents or Paula's or even Pu's who have to exist but are never seen if you prefer tho :] ) They'd all be interesting, but you most certainly do not have to talk about them all now!

Aloysius is a conservative sleazeball banker. Probably just about the worst guy ever. Divorced Lardna when Porky was 13, but the kids were still compelled to see & visit him periodically. He's been an unrepentant abusive parent since day 1. Picky avoids him like the plague. Porky absolutely despises him - all the while unwittingly regurgitating his beliefs and behaviors. There's this whole dynamic where Aloysius was smothering Porky in cash and expensive gifts (Mercedez Benz baybeeee) when he first started college. But then Porky's excessive demands and (admittedly reasonable) lack of gratitude got on the big man's nerves. The uh. Airbnb Incident. Was the straw that broke the camel's back. Aloysius cut him off financially, leaving Porky to come cryin' to Lardna for help.

Lardna's almost as awful, reigned in only by her wet blanket second husband, what'shisname Prettyman (one of the funniest Earthbound npcs I think). The kind of mom who's always got something to nitpick or chastise about, sometimes uproariously, with not a damn thing nice to say. Her fights with Aloysius persist years after the divorce, much to everyone's displeasure. She cuts Porky off, too. Big surprise. There's an awkward period where Porky tries to get Picky to be the middleman between them, but even Picky's had enough by that point. Poor Pete hangs in there, stuck living with Lardna 'til he graduates high school. After that he moves out, with intent never to return.

There's kiiind of this sad dynamic with the Minches, where like? Peter (Picky) is the only decent person here. And for a while he tries his darnedest to hold his splintering family together. And he gets nothing in return for it, not even from Lardna. I think he was closest with her, but even she becomes a lost cause, taking her frustrations out on him in Patrick n' Aloysius' absence. The bravest thing this kid ever does is tell her off and leave, on his own initiative. If they ever make any effort to patch things up, it'll have to start with an apology from Lardna. Miracles do happen, Pete supposes, but he's not holdin' his breath.

Anyways. On the absolute opposite end of the spectrum, Ness' mom is very sweet and silly. I named her Kathleen, Kathy for short. She loves kids, was always welcoming Ness' n' Tracy's friends for sleepovers, adores and dotes on every single one of his buddies. She's known Picky, Paula, Jeff, and Poo for years - she's practically like an extra parent to them. Her instinct to mother Lucas n' Claus is immense. Ness thinks it's a little embarrassing, Tracy thinks it's Very Embarrassing, but what can ya do. She's got a sad little empty nest thing goin' on, as Tracy gets ready to leave for college too. Even though Ness is going to school like, within 30 minutes of her house, and visits often. Maybe she'll get a cat. Or a girlfriend.

Mr. Kimura is as absent and busy as he always was in EarthBound, but also just as fond of frequent phone calls. Ness inherited from him a love of baseball, classic rock, old video games, and road trips. His car's also a hand-me-down from Dad. I don't think he's obscenely rich enough to be depositing hundred thousand dollar checks into his kids' bank accounts on the daily, but he makes plenty to help 'em with young adult expenses like college and rental deposits. He's a funny, laidback, good-humored guy. Kind of a calming counterbalance to Mom's pent-up energy.

Ness' folks got divorced when he was like, fifteen or sixteen. It was all on civil & amicable terms - mom could hardly stand dad's perpetual work trips, dad thought that was fair. Tracy was more shaken up about it than Ness, bein' younger than him. And since she's such good friends with Picky, she had a pretty nasty impression of What Happens To Families After Divorce. Thankfully, the Kimuras ended up going about it quite smoothly.

I wrote a lot about Paula's folks [here]. Her relationship with her neurotically tyrannical mom n' her poor ineffectual dumpling dad makes me ache so much. 🥲

Poo Rana is the so-called "Prince" of the Kansas State Senate, because his Mom's a revered Kansas State Senator. His dad's in politics too, though not quite as prolific. He grew up rich and esteemed, smothered in extracurricular activities and accolades, prepared at every stage to follow in his folks' footsteps. Then, as a teenager, he realized he doesn't want anything to do with any of that actually. So there's this weird tension between him and his mom. 'Cause he loves his family dearly, and doesn't wanna let them down. But he's a free spirit at heart, he can't give up his whole life on the altar of "royal" expectations. There's this bit during his senior year of college, where his mom's running for a spot on the U.S. Senate, and she's tryin' to rope him into helping with her campaign. While Poo rebelliously sneaks out of fancy dinners and plays D&D with his friends. He and Paula share a lot of solidarity, both bein' stifled by their overbearing moms. He's honestly got it a bit better than her, though. Senator Rana may be intense, but she's not petty or underhanded in the slightest. One of these days Poo will convince her he really is better off living his dreams as n anthropologist metalhead tabletop nerd, and one of these days she'll listen.

oh, was just thinking that mentoring sasuke ( or starting to assume his family’s place in his head) never ends well. like,his mentors�� sasuke was ‘itching to kill‘ kakashi, was fine with him drowning in lava, dismissed his advices, showed no respect in general , then, scammed orochimaru for free education, killed him while he was sick, revived him to use him some more, and also betrayed tobi and was a bad cooperator in general. he just steps over people’s heads in pursuit of whatever he has his eyes on. he removes people in a way of his path. batman would not approve. sasuke only questioned his ways when having a heart-to-heart with a boy he considers childhood friend(after an exhausting fight), and idk if b-man would be able to compete. sasuke’s just untameable and b‘s a control freak. they both commit to their ideas to the bit, can’t imagine a compromise . and that dynamic duo would be a ….thermonuclear mix.

Also also some of the descriptors you used for Sasuke are definately also applicable for Damian. Hey! They're also around the same age! The only difference here would be that instead of only one ninja, here we have a family of them.

Oohhh I'm definitely imagining the League as its own village. Bruce can't be from the Leaf because, well, 4 (counting Tim's and Dick's parents (although Dick's would have to be either missing nins whose whole clan has a circus aesthetic, or a nomad village)) clan mass murders in such a short span of time is. Not... great... For a village's reputation.

Thinking about the other kids made me think about Jason and Naruto being friends. Jason as an older street kid whose parents didn't instill Naruto hatred in him and so doesn't understand why the village despises him so much and gives him a hand when he can.

I'm messing with the timeline here because I'm unsure when I want Sasuke to come into play. He'd definitely take a long time to accept someone else take care of him. It would be funny if Bruce kept trying to adopt this kid, only for him to accept when all his character development is done with, to help with atoning for the hurt he's caused.

OMG YES YES YES!!! I LOVE THIS! ok ok ok so i definitely agree with you about the polish literature thing (although i obviously don't know anything about polish literature) I always imagined David to live in an immigrant neighborhood (and of course be an immigrant himself) and I'm sure he has several neighbors who, throughout his youth, lent him and gifted him books.

(going off the rails for a second idc) I think his family is really active in the community (of course they attend shul) Mayer and Esther love talking with the neighbors and having them over for dinner or just tea or something. Esther mends clothes to make a little extra money so she frequently has folks coming to her with that. I also think there's a kosher deli nearby and Mayer is friends with the owner (well the whole Jacobs family is friends with their family) I know that in 92sies it's established that Mayer works in a factory but with the stage version we get a bit more lenience PLUS (this might sound terrible) but like. his injury doesn't look that bad in 92sies (LET ME EXPLAIN) his arm is just in a sling so we can infer his arm is broken (i honestly don't remember if they ever say??) but I feel like he'd be able to a job like he wouldn't be completely indisposed. anyway in the stage version it makes more sense that he has a leg injury and can't walk, hence the inability to work. I imagine he helps do deliveries and like loading stuff off of carts. His injury actually happened out on the street trying to stop a kid from getting hit by a wagon and he did, it was just to his expense. "twisted his leg up real bad" I take that literally like.. it got caught in the wheel and twisted up. and I think the deli owner saw it happen and got him home (along with a few other fellas and a doctor).

ANYWAy the whole reason I say that is just like. I think the Jacobs are a well liked family in the community and everyone always found David endearing and saw his love of reading and writing and wanted to help give him the resources he needed (especially being a polish kid removed from his culture they wanted to help restore that)

I agree that he likes Little Women!! He also enjoyed reading War and Peace (I haven't finished it yet but I just KNOW Davey loves Pierre because little awkward man who's probably autistic). I think he also enjoys Wuthering Heights (which admittedly I haven't read but my friend really loves it and has talked about it so I think he would enjoy it) along with poetry. I think he loves books/stories/poems that are very descriptive and have good imagery because it helps him transport himself and like really be engulfed by the story

He'd read Moby Dick but he despises it. He wanted an epic ocean adventure but half the chapters are just all about whales (like science-y and shit) which,,, would be fine if he'd picked up a textbook about whales. He just wanted more from it and didn't enjoy the ending. WHICH IS WHY he prefers 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea because if he wants to read a good story involving the ocean he's not gonna pick up Moby fucking Dick.

time to talk about Hiroto and his dynamic with Toshiro!!!! sibling angst, my favorite,,,,

I mentioned this already, but their relationship isn't bad. It's just distant. It contrasts pretty significantly with Seina and her sibling, but I'll talk about them more after designing Taru (the sibling)

Hiroto wants to be a good older brother, he really does! And there was definitely a period of time when the two were very close, where Toshiro would come to Hiroto for every little thing. It was nice, really, especially considering the situation with their parents, who are also pretty distant. However, as they both grew, Hiroto started making more and more excuses, spending less time at home in general, and eventually, it turned into them barely interacting despite even their rooms being right next to each other.

Hiroto doesn't like this. He only recently and slowly started realizing this pattern, but isn't sure what to do. He hangs out with Tsukasa a lot and really admires him for how good of an older brother he is, but is kind of embarrassed about maybe asking for advice on this.

Toshiro seems to almost entirely blame themself. I already mentioned that they tend to put a lot of pressure on themself to be "good enough", and they feel like they just don't deserve for Hiroto to give them as much attention as he used to when they were little.

It's a little awkward between them. Especially after Hiroto does fully realize that, woops, that's not very cool and awesome! He tries to spend time with Toshiro again, but it ends up,, not being very fun. Again, mostly awkward.

I'm all over the place and can't focus properly, but uhm. Realized I'm not talking much just about Hiroto's personality. He's very different to Toshiro, quiet, sometimes seems almost serene, but in reality the guy is just really anxious and most of his almost non-existent expressions are happening in his head. He could be having the worst or the best day of his life, or panicking, but his expression will just stay ":)"

And as I mentioned in the first post about him, he's a big fan of flowers and specifically forget-me-nots! Back when him and Toshiro were still a little closer, he would visit Fumi's family flower shop a lot, and that's what pushed Fumi and Toshiro to get to know each other, though they didn't *really* become friends until H♡L.

Hiroto is someone who looks like he's got everything under control, but he's FREAKING OUT internally. Taru knows about it and is usually the one to handle whatever necessary talking there is. Toshiro also tries his best whenever he has a chance, wanting to be useful. Though his speech tends to be pretty,, abstract.

Hiroto also has a surprising passion for food! He knows all the good places around where he lives and often drags his unit members to try something new. Sometimes he even drags Toshiro along. If you ask him about his favorite food... you will never get an answer, because Hiroto will probably start with saying one or two things, but end up listing off EVERYTHING, every dish he's ever liked (and there's a lot of them).

I also wanted to talk about Surfer (their cat) more because I think it's funny. He fucking DESPISES Hiroto. He's very much Toshiro's cat, but even though Hiroto loves him too, this orange thing does NOT tolerate him AT ALL. It's a mystery for everyone, including Hiroto. And, probably, Surfer as well. He's actually kind of a little shit, but everyone tends to forgive him. He's more sweet with Toshiro, but even with them still acts like the most evil creature you've ever encountered. Somehow, though, Surfer also doesn't mind Matsu. He doesn't exactly love him, but sometimes would show a little bit of affection. Nearly eery time this happens, Hiroto is somewhere near, so maybe the cat just hates him THAT much and wants to show it, no one really knows. It's very funny for me to imagine tbh,,

Yeah I agree the most boring way to approach the both of them like you said but I'm wonder about something, how would you take approach to turn them toxic relationship? I feel like Gonta's appreciation towards Ryoma and the easily get pissed when someone call him weak can be used though. I don't know I want to hear your thoughts about that.

Ibuki and Sayaka interaction or Fuyuhiko and Mondo interaction would be so cool but they are cowards. Only thing I like about in anime was the Mukuro and Peko interaction because I think they have some similarities too objectively.

I dont know it is a headcanon or not but when I fucked around in Korean spaces i read about some relation between Uehara and Kanade and if that was true it would make it even funnier you know? The way everything you despise in a person stuck with you is having some kind of relation with the person you dubiously respect. Hehe

Kanade could find Tsurugi interesting and could develop some sort of liking for him me thinks

Gonta overcommits himself to helping others, so I could see him start to view Ryoma as a charity case, the same way he started to view Kokichi as his responsibility later in the game. If Ryoma gets too emotionally dependent to stop him, it creates a fun dynamic.

(Tangent: every time I don't play v3 for a while, I convince myself I'm overthinking Gonta's character and start buying into the fanon. Then I replay it and go "wtf guys!")

Most fans want a everything was a stimulation au so nobody dies. I want one to explore everyone's trauma and because there are fates worth than death (talking about your emotions and growing as a person) /lh

Uehara is far too normal to be related to Kanade. He'd be like, the normal cousin. "Hey, whats boring cousin Kinji up to? Oh, he's a priest now? Thats cool (boring.)" Every family has a normal cousin/relative (in my family its a cousin) even though nobody talks about it.

Also, like there is so much wasted potential between Kokoro and the twins. I like to imagine she was writing a paper on them. Also, a twins headcanon that I think most of the fandom disagrees with: Hibiki is somewhat aware of Kanade's true personality, and shown by the "Kanade, you're acting scary again" comments in chapter two. I don't think she personally connected the dots between that and the missing people around her, but she definitely knew something.

Notes: I stretched the timelines of Child’s Play 3 events for this to work, but let’s ignore it lol. 

The almost natural affinity that Andy Barclay had to find trouble was clearly not stopping on Chucky. In barely a few days since his arrival at Kent he managed to get picked on by the biggest asshole around. Luckly or unluckly for him, he wasn’t the only newbie on Shelton’s sight, but he was indeed the one who was having to stand it without a reason, because that other was a weird girl who seemed to have tons of fun provoking him. Anyone would think it was merely someone who was just following the steps of Da Silva, tired of being an easy target for when his attempts to tear her down wouldn’t work, but her comedy style was perhaps a little bit beyond hers. As if annoying that douchebag was a new hobby for her boredoom, she compensated for her overall awkwardness by making everyone laugh from time to time. 

No one knew much about her, except from her last name and some hilarious takes. Fame described her as a complete lunatic, his roommate said he was almost convinced that she was the prodigal child of a military family being sent there to reform. Andy’s curiosity was mostly linked to the fact of how oftenly he would end up stumbling across her. It was as if she actively seeked to get punished with him all the time and he couldn’t find a possibly understandable reason for that. 

The sentence on that particular time was cleaning and he found out on the spot that they were, once more, punishment partners. The resting stance she had was odd, at least, as if she was not thrilled at all because of being waiting for a challenge, or some storm to hit the place. It actually reminded him of someone else… 

Himself. 

There were no collaborators on the crime that brought you there, but you knew Shelton despised that boy and he was going to find a way to make him land for punishment anyways. Trying to act natural, you pretended to ignore him and you kept to yourself mopping the floors while humming a song.

“ … Hi!” Andy awkwardly saluted you. “ It’s Winchester, right?” 

“ Yeah, like the rifle.” You joked as confirmation. “ Enough with the bullshit, I know your name is Andy. Just call me (y/n)” 

“ Well, it seems that we are in this together … again, (y/n).” He recalled. “ Why did he send you for?” 

You raised your stare from the ground to look at him. 

“ Shelton? He found out I stole three packages of salt. The ‘ zero tolerance’ shit is real, dude.” 

Andy couldn’t help laughing and you could tell he was weirded. 

“ Why would anyone need that much salt?” 

There was no point in hiding yourself from him, he had to be aware of things to some extent, although you weren’t sure of the limits of his awareness. 

“ I let him believe I was planning a prank, which in other contexts could have been completely true, and this is just the start of the punishment he gave me.” Was your still mildly vague confession. “ Sending the girl to clean the kitchen… the originality is killing me. I swear that dude is boring even as a sadist.” 

More chuckling followed and you felt incentivized to be as open as you wanted. 

“ I stole it because of the ghosts, in places like this you never know when you are gonna find one. Watch out for any spot where military antiques could be stored.” 

The boy was completely clueless, looking at you as if you would have spoken in another language or said something delusional, probably wondering if you were crazier than he was. 

“ I believe in cursed objects. Did you know that some people think the Winchester last name is cursed because of all the people that were killed with the rifle?” 

The strange tease fell tasteless to him.

“ That is way less funny than what you think.” 

“ Not if you knew my family, I truly believe we must have been cursed.” You insisted. “ You are not the only one, we are all child soldiers in a secret war.” 

The phrasing choices were quite strange, but he felt thrilled. 

“ Is that philosophical?” 

“ It’s the family business.” Served you as clarification. “ My eldest eldest brother loves it, but he only wants to pick serious shit. The middle bro has one step in and one out so I am the only one who wanted to take this. Send the little one for the cursed objects while we fight demons! Classical Dean. You are lucky because, unlike my bros, I live for bizarre cases. Give me the cringe, if this is the stupidest thing you have ever heard of then leave it to me. Collecting fun anecdotes is the best part of this crap.” 

Andy had no idea of what you were talking about, but he could only guess it was ranting about your brothers and their positions regarding a military career. 

“ Has someone around you served? Is that why you are here? ” 

He made you remember of your casually perfect cover up, that you almost forgot completely while relaxing with him. 

“ My dad, he fought in Vietnam… He has this rude army man act that he pulls everytime he wants to find obedience from us, so I’m really used to the ‘ yes, sir’ thing we have to use here… but I also like to mock it. I’m never gonna be the perfect child, I’m not the queen of confrontations either so why not evade things with jokes? Why try so hard to impress him or waste so much energy on fighting him when I can make him laugh and pretend everything is fine? Court jester’s privilege, it works just fine with many authority figures. I may try it with Cochrane someday.” 

Andy felt stressed out just by thinking about that. 

“ … Please don’t. You are going to get us in more trouble.” 

Using annoyance as a form of bonding, you seeked to figure out things for the case. 

" Did you know that, according to voodoo lore, Damballa never ever speaks? He can only make snake sizzling sounds." You casually commented at him, then emulated the snake-like sound. " It's funny, because I bet Chucky never shuts up." 

Andy was confused because, for one part, he couldn't agree more, but he also couldn't understand why you were implícitly showing to believe in him.

" Why are you telling me this? " 

" Hello? It's called info dumping on a common interest, that's how people get close. I don't know much about voodoo, but I read a few random facts that are gonna change the course of your life." 

The explanation emanated a charisma that was hard to ignore. 

"... Let me guess, it's about Damballa." 

" He is the creator of the universe, kinda like a voodoo equivalent to what christianity calls God. Nothing impure should touch things consecrated to him and this rule is super strict." You kept rambling out loud to him. " He is associated with all things white because... listen this... HE IS A WISE, KIND, BENEVOLENT AND PATIENT DEITY, only with not much regard for everyday mortal issues."

Andy laughed so loud that you both almost got reprimanded by the kitchen staff watching you over. 

" You gotta be kidding me..." 

" I'm not! I swear it's true, my sources are legit." You defended yourself. " My father would say ' You gotta kill them all, this is war.' but i think It's not the god's fault if Chucky uses corrupted versions of his worship rituals. Have you ever wondered if you yourself are a tool of Damballa punishing him for crimes against religious nature and that's why you beat him over and over?" 

" What you try to say is that Damballa himself put me on Chucky's way and ruined my life to give him a lesson??" 

" That's the theory I am working on. Damballa likes pureness and what is purer than a child? It's like the greek gods and their favorite heroes: maybe Damballa likes you so much that he chose you and he didn't mind it was gonna damage you. It would fit with the lore description I read: he is a god that deals with the bigger picture but doesn't think about the details of mundane human existence." 

The amount of effort you were putting into what he thought was just trying to make him feel better was heartwarming. 

" As a consolation it is not the worse i have heard." 

" Just be careful... and remember that Damballa's day of the week is Thursday, he loves the color white and all things lightfull. Communicating with him is extremely difficult, but you can appease him with random little acts like adding something white to your everyday outfit. His preferred offerings are uncooked white eggs and white flour."

He stared at you and you could tell he was about to laugh. 

" ... White flour?" 

The fact that your quickly researched lore seemed so plausible to him was an offense to your work and you chose to take payback with a joke. Sneaking to reach an open package of white flour that one of the cooks was using, you took only a handful of it. Then, with your palm extended as if you were about to blow kisses, you actually blew the flour in the direction of Andy's face. 

" You are welcome, now you are blessed."

The breakfast of the following morning was a follow up of inner jokes. It was a Thursday and you made sure he would watch you on the line asking for white bread with eggs and milk. One of your fingernails was painted white and you made it be the one that would be visible when pulling the trigger of a gun. However, Andy had an even bigger surprise for you. 

A white flower picked from the school ground that he secretly gave you in the hall once both of you were done eating. Your heart beated fast and you mentally cursed yourself because you could tell it was the building of a crush on the boy you were commanded to protect.

The next thing you did was checking if you had mail. your brothers were supposed to send you extended research info and some practical things that you asked for, but your little battle kit didn’t arrived the last time you consulted about deliveries meant for you. Ríght at the spot where you were supposed to check that you came across Tyler, the nice kid that was always saluting you everytime he would pass by. 

He was in a big hurry, ignoring you completely while carrying a package.

"Hi, Tyler... Bye, Tyler!" You mocked the situation, wondering what the hell was wrong with him. " Well, I trust the boys so I know there must be something for me today."

My most recent one is a royalty one where they’re like royalty but in their really prestigious and royal school they were academic rivals and did not get along and after school they like try to go their separate ways until a couple years later their parents force them into an arranged marriage for like the good of the country or whatever I don’t really care!! You can take it wherever you want from there but in case you were interested in mine he fell for her first and kinda gave up on the enemies thing pretty early on but she still made it clear he wasn’t her favourite person and she despised the situation and there is still constant teasing until she meets his sister or friend or whoever who says that they can’t believe how happy he is with them and she feels so bad because she thinks he deserves better and ends up being much meaner to him because she’s an idiot who can’t express her emotions and he gets angry at her because she’s being super mean after they were just starting to get along and they have a big argument and are forced to talk about their feelings and then I can never decide whether they actually like each other when they get married, I feel like either way is fun

I have a thing for royalty so my other one is literally just princess x stable boy and you can honestly take that wherever you want but I will tell you where I took it for some ✨inspiration✨ so I don’t have my drivers license and get really bad driving anxiety so I self projected and made her terrified of riding horses right (I’m so smart I know) and he is like trying to help her ride the horse and feel comfortable and like obviously they end up in love but I created drama because she sneaks out to his birthday party (!!) but his friends don’t like her because they just think she’ll be a snob but he obviously defends her but like it’s a perfect opportunity for a bit of an innocent princess as well

My personal favourite is the two co stars falling in love and like thinking about doing all those stupid interviews from like buzzfeed and all that and I personally love the trying foods from different places thing (like making them try fairy bread - because I’m from Australia and we aren’t that cultured and being mad when they don’t like it because it is my favourite food) and it’s great because i can make the guy any actor I am currently obsessed with 😭 but also like the red carpet opportunities and interviews and fan reactions and it’s very fun also this keeps my brain very busy because I like making it as realistic as possible and figuring out the actors timeline so I can match the story up with it, it’s always really intense, also if you want inspiration for what moving they’re staring in I always go for the live action version of tangled even if I don’t look anything like rapunzel

Another fun one is where one of them is in a band and you have a friend who is dating one of the other members but you don’t like the band and you’re not shy in letting the other members know that and it turns into an enemies to lovers thing but I haven’t really developed it because halfway through I ended up changing it with the fact that they befriend one of the members and like fall for them but the band member like ‘gets around’ and it makes them jealous until they drunkingly confess it made them jealous this one’s a bit of a mess and is tipping into a 2012 wattpad story but it was how I got back into my 5sos phase two years ago because I felt icky about them but I’m still a slut for Calum 😭

Another one I love is moving abroad to study or whatever (idk I just always need a reason to be in America/Uk because there’s no one here in australia) and you make friends with someone who turns out to be related to someone really famous (insert whoever you want) and you meet them and you think they’re the hottest person you’ve ever seen and you get drunk to gain confidence to talk to them and you’re like unashamedly flirting with them and they think it’s cute and you’re funny but the whole little plot twist is that you don’t know they’re famous (famous people love that, trust me, I have about 10 wattpad stories in my library that can prove this) !! And the don’t believe you don’t know they’re famous !! Anyways I took it in a sugar daddy direction but each to their own!

Specifically for Harry Potter though, you ask?

Currently I am obsessed with Regulus Black and for about the past two weeks I’ve been obsessed with the idea of James potter sibling x regulus black enemies to lovers story and then about a week ago I found an actually good wattpad story about it?!?! (I have recommended it here with warnings but I really encourage you to read it if you’re not a minor) but you can also do your own version because I am still doing my own version and will continue to do my own version tonight even if I am obsessed with the wattpad one !! Currently I am up to post Hogwarts and her and regulus are trying to defeat Voldemort and regulus tells her that Peter is going to betray James and so ofc she tells James but James is like ‘how to do you even know this??’ And he is so afraid and gets angry at her and it’s really dramatic and she tells him she’s dating regulus and then he gets super mad at her because she’s dating like one of the most well known and loyal death eaters (even if regulus is sneakily trying to destroy Voldemort) and because he didn’t tell her and it’s very dramatic

My favourite Sirius black idea is also a James potters sibling one, but I never have any good ideas for it and just end up self projecting so if anyone has any ideas, I am begging you, please tell me !!!

My other Sirius black one is one I’ve been working on for like the last 4 years of my life and I probably should write it but who knows, but basically it’s a 10 things I hate about you x Harry Potter story where reader is about a year or so older than the marauders and she is like Kat Stratford (for people who haven’t watched it the best way to describe her is just an angry early 2000s feminist who is like anti dating and fun (kinda)) but she is Lily Evans sister!! And so Lily gets fed up of James constantly asking her out and makes an offhand comment that she’ll date him when her sister goes on a date with someone and James is like really?!? And Lily is like ‘sure’ because she knows her sister will never date anyone at Hogwarts so James tells the marauders and Remus is like ‘if anyone can take her on a date, it’s Sirius’ and Sirius is like ‘no, I’m stupid but not that stupid’ and James is like ‘please I’ll pay you’ and Sirius is easily bribed so he tries to get her to go on a date with him and like she doesn’t until she does and then finds out he only did it because James paid him but then they fall in love? Basically just 10 things I hate about you lol

My next one is with Draco Malfoy and all it is is that reader comes from a pure blood family and they’ve known each other since they were babies and it’s like basically destined they get married but she gets like really upset when he gets the mark which makes for a good cuddling and crying scene and like idk people are probably more creative than me but I just like reimagining scenes from hp but with this new character so like Poa when she gets angry at him about buckbeak or the bathroom scene (maybe she duels Harry?) and she’s so upset about Draco and comforts him, or helping him in sixth year and comforting him or the quidditch scene in the fifth book (weird note, but I’ve always headcannoned that my original character finds out about dumbledores army but doesn’t say anything and like the da knows she knows but she doesn’t tell Draco or maybe Draco finds out and gets angry at her?)

My other one is another Draco malfoy one where James and Lily live and she’s Harry’s younger sister (and Voldemort isn’t a thing) but like there’s still stereotypes and beliefs and such and like it’s obviously enemies to lovers and maybe they get prefect duties together ? (I am a sucker for this trope in Harry Potter) but then when they do date they try to hide it but Harry finds out but doesn’t say anything until they get into a fight at home and he is like ‘well at least I’m not fucking Draco malfoy behind everyone’s back) (in my head they aren’t fucking because they’re still in Hogwarts but you get the idea) and James and Lily are just like ‘WHAT?!’ Like idk I just think it’s funny imagining James and Lily finding out their kid is dating Draco and Lucius and narcissus finding out Draco is dating a potter - so many possibilities!
