Figured I’d put the idea out in the world while I’m working on it: Mouthwashing FNAF au
(Disclaimer: if you get hate J*mmy with every fiber of your being then this au is NOT for you so proceed with caution because it’s very J*mmy-centric. Keep yourselves safe, besties 🫶 I hope you have a lovely day.)
Anyways, Pony Express and Freddy Fazbear’s (as a franchise not just the one restaurant) both have horrendous working conditions and I’m flabbergasted that we haven’t explored the idea of putting the Tulpar crew into Freddie’s.
The general concept is this: Polle’s Pizza Place (or Pizza Stable idk yet) is this little family arcade that sells pizza and hosts birthdays and whatever, real typical Chuck E. Cheese knock off place y’know. Jimmy has been going there since he could figure out how house keys worked and that’s where he meets Curly.
Since I’m actually writing this au and right now I don’t wanna say too much about it but I do wanna talk about the animatronics I came up with for it.
Is Polle and Friends a stupid name for the band or do we like it?
That aside, Polle isn’t actually an animatronic in the restaurant; he’s a walk around mascot that an unlucky employee gets to play (I just know that costume reeks). The other four animatronics are as follows (sorry I only have ugly sketches of them rn also I don’t have a sketch of the last animatronic 😖 also im bad at names so expect nothing good):
Henry Horse
Meant to be a leader-like character among Polle’s friends (despite the restaurant and cartoon being named after Polle)
Prefers to maintain the peace rather than pick sides in conflict
Goes along with whatever crazy scheme Polle comes up with
In the actual animatronic band he plays guitar and sings
Rosemary Ram (also often called Rosie Sheep)
Meant to be very motherly
Super supportive of her friends and loves taking care of them
Despite her sweet demeanor she does have a moments in the cartoon where she stands up for herself and her friends by absolutely verbally destroying whoever is messing with them (there are in universe compilation’s of these clips)
In the band she plays the bass and sings with Henry
Danny Dog
Meant to be the reckless one among Polle’s friends
Originally when he was introduced parents were concerned about his role in the cartoon due to the fact that he was constantly getting into trouble and his friends just laughed it off (except for Rosie and the next character I’m gonna talk about). At some point they tried to replace him but everyone hated the alternative character so much that the episode it was introduced in became lost media
Very beloved among children due to his wagging tail and silly expressions
He plays the drums
Samuel Swan (I’m so sorry I don’t have a drawing)
Meant to be the most mature of Polle’s friends
Scolds the others for their antics a lot but it’s because he’s a grumpy old bird who cares a lot
Least favorite among children despite the animatronic being designed to look super huggable
He plays piano
The lost episode character was gonna be named Buddy Bear and his whole thing was gonna be about safety. The episode he was introduced (and lost) in was called “Always bring a Buddy” and the plot followed Polle and Henry getting lost in the woods where they meet Buddy who then acts like he’s known Henry his whole life. The point of the episode was to show the importance of making friends and sticking close to friends in dangerous situations but the writers of the episode were underpaid and unmotivated so Buddy came off as clingy and kind of creepy. Suffice to say he was hated by children and parents alike.
In case you haven’t noticed all of the animatronics are meant to mirror a character in actual Mouthwashing. This is an important plot point later because Jimmy, despite pretending to hate the cartoon once he and Curly are in middle school, watches the Polle and Friends cartoon religiously and when Curly makes new friends he starts to associate them with the characters in the cartoon. Since this is inspired by FNAF, yeah they’re absolutely getting stuffed into the animatronic that they’ve been kin-assigned by Jimmy. Most of the au takes place between their child years and their highschool years. The more Fnaf-esc stuff (haunted animatronics and all that) takes place when Jimmy is an adult though.
Sorry for rambling but I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts or opinions on this

A frustrating development with the growing lack of reading comprehension I've personally noticed is an emerging fervor of insisting things aren't canon unless they are explicitly stated beyond all reasonable doubt.
I can not emphasize enough how harmful a mindset this is to have. Yes, it's wonderful to have characters outright say "I'm trans," but to deny a character's identity for not saying that is dangerous.
Plenty of real people prefer not to use specific labels. Historically, people didn't have our modern terms or modes of expression. Many modern cultures don't use these terms, either, and plenty of people within those that do can't safely openly identify.
If the only representation you accept as canon is within modern (and let's be honest, wealthy white able-bodied American) standards, then you are denying yourself and others a huge amount of representation and seriously limiting the media around you.
#remembering how people were like hmm its not actually canon that Steve is trans and adam is nonbinary...#steve doesnt fucking know what 'trans' is hes an unhoused time traveling cowboy like!!!#after an arc. about werewolves. and how people become werewolves because theyre unhappy with their lives.#especially specifically regarding their body/gender#and how adam explicitly says 'your family never saw you as a man'#AND THEN FOLLOWS IT UP. with referring to Steve as 'the man who chose'#like for fucks sake#you are being deliberately and willfully ignorant if you say its not canon.#your ideas of transness are extremely extremely limited if it doesnt include people who dont use the word.#god. ugh. ive been annoyed by this since that episode came out#dont even get me started on how people barely noticed adam is nonbinary.mm#they said they dont wanna be called a boyfriend. come on!!! come on!!!!#how can i make it clearer without them saying shit they woildnt say and have no context for!!!!#scream.#anyways.#delete later lol im just frustrated again.#im not even sure i worded this how i wanted to

ok ive had enough of queering judaism. can we start judaizing queerness now. or something
#like. it feels like so much of this queering judaism shtus just layers an american/secular queer identity over judaism#which i guess is fine for certain communities. but it's only going to push you away from orthodoxy#and if as queer jews we already feel like our queerness makes us into secularized outsiders in our own communities#how does this help? is trying to get our communities to embrace an essentially secular american iteration of queer identity supposed to mak#us feel LESS like outsiders? it's not quite doing it for me#we need a queerness that comes from within judaism that is essentially jewish#ive seen a couple of articles recently from ppl talking abt how word/concept of butch doesnt exist in their language & culture#but they use it anyway#& like. i love being butch. it's important to me ill never give it up#& i am american too. but my whole identity as a butch he/him lesbian is exclusively secular american it came from the outsifr#which is definitely due in large part to the fact that my Gender Problems were really tied up w orthodox jewish gender roles#so naturally to get out of that i'd pull on something not jewish. but i wish there was another option? idk if that's possible#or how it would look#maybe that's why im obsessed w the idea of a butch w long curly payos.... 😦#i forgot where i was going w this but yeah it's frustrating#this is a large part of why im wary of starting a queer Jewish club on campus bc the people who would wanna start it w mr#well no offense but they are insufferable about this#(incidentally they're also insufferable about chanukah. no surprises there)#op#jew blogging#others have Actually written abt all this tho

The most frustrating part of engaging in any of this discourse with pro-Israel people is that they claim there's just something ineffable about "seeing and understanding" how supporting Palestinian liberation is directly calling for the eradication of Jewish people (as if that type of rhetoric isn't exactly how actual antisemitism often manifests in online spaces but that's a topic for another day)
They get through people debunking the "the land belongs to the people of Israel anyway" argument and the "LGBTQ Palestinians are safe in Israel" argument and the "Genocide isn't what's happening here so you should educate yourself" argument and when all of those points are meticulously disproven over and over they still stand with "Well, myself and your Jewish friends see the hate you have in your heart for us" and it truly doesn't matter what you say at that point because even if you yourself are Jewish they will claim that refusing to support the state, government and military of Israel is inherently hateful and bigoted, as if a religious ethnostate is some inherent human right that is being taken away from them. I know many of them are blinded by the relentless propaganda that's been around their whole lives and how hard it is to break free from a belief system that is so tied to your core identity as a human being but it is so frustrating watching people being led straight to the point over and over again and just turning around and refusing to see it.
It's also so frustrating to see people using the momentum of this movement to casually tack on actual antisemitism to these discussions, as if having Jewish people in positions of power is why the US bends over backwards to excuse the actions of Israel and not, yknow, the fact that our government directly benefits from having a military stronghold in the middle east. I've talked to some well-meaning pro-Palestine friends irl who casually use antisemetic talking points because they've ALSO bought into the narrative that Israeli = Jewish and so they blame the actions of Israel and the IDF on Jewish people's "religious values" and ignore the fact that this conflict really has almost nothing to do with religion itself and everything to do with capitalism, imperialism and maintaining the US's status as a so-called "global power".
#dont get me wrong there are lots of people on the pro palestine side who are very much aware of and vigilant against antisemitic rhetoric#but i genuinely worry about some of my non-jewish leftist friends and allies falling down some super shady pipelines because of all of this#i spend a lot of my time on my public facing social media sharing articles and graphics and whatnot about antisemitism#and how careful we need to be when calling out these atrocities and our government's complicity in them#but when one side is genuinely claiming with no evidence or argument that being against colonial occupation is just antisemitism#it makes it so hard to call out actual antisemitism within these spaces bc it delegitimizes antisemitism as a concern#i just want to scream#like. im not even jewish and i vividly remember when we had a special lesson in girl scouts about how wonderful Israel is#and they had us make little mini versions of the israel flag and they told us that israel stood for the safety of the jewish people#and i came home and i told my mom about how cool israel was#and she promptly pulled me out of girl scouts#which at the time felt unfair because she didnt explain why#but also how do you explain the horrors of colonialism and imperialism to your newly zionist 10 year old#anyway the point is that if i as a non-jewish girl scout was exposed to that kind of propaganda#i can only imagine how inescapable it must be for many american jews in the US#and i truly empathize with the amount of unlearning that needs to be done#and how hard it must be to let go of some of these ideas#but that doesnt make it any less frustrating to watch these dynamics play out on such a massive scale#and i hold so much respect for people in white jewish communities re-educating themselves and standing on the right side of history#as well as for all of the people of color and especially American Palestinians standing up and using their voices as much as they do#personal

Orion Pax is naive, he’s just not naive the way ppl seem to think he is

i am so very thankful to my professor for making my presentation due the second day we're doing those bc she knows me so well.. now if i could actually get myself to use my extra time to work on it that would be nice
#grabbing myself by the shoulders n shaking me. come ON man#i gotta make a whole slideshow n stuff but my brain is like. what if we filled 5 sketchbook pages with hisuian zoroark#its so fun to draw .........#so anyway. thinking of making pmd akechi a hisuian zoroark/corviknight fusion#both bc it fits aesthetically and thematically. and it fucks#its also kinda funy bc its like. hisuian zoroark who died and came back to life from the sheer power of spite towards those who exiled it#and is also one of the most glass cannon pokemon youll ever see statwise#and THEN theres corviknight which just does not fucking die. absolute tank of a mon. one of the reasons why they nerfed healing moves#would love to play around w its stats and see how it could balance out. i should look into how infinite fusion handles stats.....#the addition of moves like brave bird n steel wing are neat for him too i think. i do wish corviknight had a bigger movepool tho#n im keeping his ability as illusion but mirror armor is such a funky idea for him tbh. maybe i could make it so they have 2..#not sure how that would go for the other fusions tho#but illusion n mirror armor dual ability goes so hard in theory.. #jc’s cawing#yayyyyyy!!!!!!!!#i have no idea when my first appointment is since my sister was handling allat stuff#but im nervous and excited tbh#actually this is a crazy story because#my sister (other one not appointment booker) and i have the our yearly physicals on the same day#because its easier#and we obviously had to fill out paperwork#but the doctors came super quick for some reason so i had to continue filling out everything in the exam room#but then i had to go out of the room and left the papers there because im not gonna be filling out paperwork as i take urine sample#and i come back to see MY PAPERS ALREADY FILLED OUT?????#TURNS OUT MY SISTER DID MY PAPERS FOR ME????????#and obviously it matters because it had questions about mental health stuff#and since shes not me she doesnt know what the fuck happens in my head#so this bitch just filled out my paperwork with inaccurate information!!!!!!!!!!!#its even worse because she thinks im this like. super sad and quiet person when im literally not#i just dont wanna talk to her because shes a bitch#so the doctors like hey are you okay bro and i cant say shit because im nervous and doctors are scary#and shes like yeah so im gonna have you go to therapy (not exact words idk since it was in like. february)#and my moms lowkey freaking out since she like??? hates mentally ill ppl or something#shes says if i get therapy ppl will think im crazy or something which??? no????? thats not how it works 😭😭#like shes literally been prescribed antidepressants and she just. doesnt take them#shes the type of person to tell people to deal with it and grow up if they have mental issues#anyway i forget about that shi until today because some lady called my sister and said i was on a waitlist#and then i cried when i remembered all that shi and my sister confirmed the appointment and im gonna have a session soon#not sure when but i think its in the next week????#nervous because what if they execute me for being mentally ill /s#tbh im not even sure if i need it but always good to have i guess???? idk man 😭😭#anyways yap over

I have this problem that’s like the opposite of nostalgia or something where some things I remember liking a lot as a child I look back and only remember the bad times.
This is specifically about Animal Crossing, loved that game as a kid, but I have literally no idea why, cuz it was just pure hell for me from what I can remember.

I couldn’t even take care of my irl self so you KNOW my village was totally trashed.#so I had to play while constantly getting told ‘everyone HATES living in this town’ and trying my best to fix it but it’s out of control and#I can’t bring myself to clean (I did it once. it was the happiest I’d been finally getting told positive things.)#my house always full of roaches too lol foreshadowing my life as an adult#ALSO THOSE FREAKING DANGEROUS BUGS WOULD GET ME ALL THE TIME I was always playing at night and getting terrified#I never had a ‘favorite villager’ in the traditional sense cuz none of them ever stayed long. they hated my town.#my fave was actually stitches but I never saw him. maybe I saw him once and he IMMEDIATELY moved out. that was my life.#I can’t name a single villager I ever had in my village cuz they always moved out. I learned not to form attachments even tho I wanted to.#and don’t even get me STARTED on Resetti. if you are a Resetti lover then WE ARE NOT MEANT TO INTERACT 😭#I’m joking I won’t judge you as a person if you like him but at the same time I genuinely on god hate him#opening up the game was a nightmare cuz I knew without fail every time I would have to see him.#‘just save’? it wasn’t ever ME that was doing it. it was my little siblings. and NO I couldn’t stop them. they were like GODS at stealing#not to mention parents would always side with them and make us share the games. they liked to delete saves and were gods at that too#but anyways so I was always stuck with Resetti cuz my siblings couldn’t leave my game alone and also couldn’t bring themselves to save befor#stopping. so every day it would be Resetti. I dreaded it so much because he is like SUPER reminiscent of my abusive step father at the time.#I often cried while just desperately trying to get thru his lectures. they were SO. LONG. and OH MY GOD the time he made me repeat something#I legitimately don’t know what it was but like I kept failing it. I know I was rlly bad with copying things as a kid#there was a time where I made the painful decision to quit in the middle of his rant. knowing that it would be worse next time but I was#simply unable to take it at that point in time. HOW EFFED UP IS THAT. THAT I JUST WANT TO PLAY A DAMN GAME BUT I CANT CUZ OF THE TRAUMA.#I hate Resetti I hate Resetti I hate him so much ‘oh he’s just a character’ THATS WHY IM FREE TO HATE HIM BABY!!! my sister is still sending me apartment listings from facebook bc her backup plan to ditch me last minute (after id already gotten us apprived to move on to an apartment) to move in with her parents fell through
#that shit has long since sailed.#not gonna waste my time getting YOU a free apartment (bc she would pay nothing towards rent or bills)#at one point she actually brought up the idea of her just crashing on my couch paying no rent at all#like. brought up just moving in to MY apartment with her dog without being on the lrase or paying me anything.#the way i shot that down so fast#it's because of her im not already moved out of this apartment and am going to the absolute end of my lease.#it's bc of her im facing homelessness with two dogs and 9 mice#no im not gonna fucking coddle you and get you an apartment so you can take ket on my couch and not be an adult#i wonder how long itll be before she gets the message and stops sending me these worthless listings#bc all of them are shit that we wouldnt even be able to take anyway#bc shes so out og it she never bothers to look at the actual specifications of the listing#evey single apartment shes sent me is either blatantly '#NO PETS#or#it's a single bedroom for rent.#i dont even bother pointing out all the ways it's worthless anymore.#i dont even bother checking#im actually so mad at her for the apartment cancellation. even if she came to me with the perfevt apartment already paid for#and all expenses covered i still wouldnt live with her
