hi there! i'd just like to say that your kris and noelle "something else" comic has been driving me insane /pos and i'd love to hear more of your thoughts on those two!! their relationship is one of my favorite things in deltarune and your comic just got everything about them so right 🙏

this was one of the first tweets i made after finishing chapter 2 nearly... freaking 2 years ago. and basically i've just been saying that over and over again in different ways because i'm still not tired of the concept yet and probably wont ever be LOL. i'm obsessed with how badly the narrative wants to force them into an easily categorizable dynamic, especially the romantic one in snowgrave. the literal THORN RING, the more possessive dialogue options, spamton calling noelle a side chick LOL... it all creates this unnerving visual novel bad end atmosphere that feels manufactured by someone who's only ever learned about romance through secondhand sources. they're two queer teens trying to navigate their changing relationship with the only role models they know being their parents' own failed heterosexual marriages. they're so divorced² (divorced children of divorce).

i also like that for being so tragically doomed coded they can be funny! both in a dark humor way and also like, genuinely funny, like the stories of them as kids with kris covering themselves in ketchup and hiding under noelle's bed lmao. i mean there's even something funny about the romantic trappings of the snowgrave route, like trying to put wedding cake embellishments on a crime scene... you know, funny like kids trying on their parents clothes but they're too big and for some reason they're also crying and covered in blood? um.

i'm also SOOOO interested to see how snowgrave will continue in chapter 3! i really liked the hopeful note chapter 2 ended on (well. i took it as hopeful anyway). there's that bit where noelle is talking to herself and she says something like "recently kris has been acting so strange and no one else has noticed... i have to figure out why" and then kris jumpscares her LOL but i think i took that one line and really ran with it. noelle really is the one who knows kris best and despite how scared she is, she's still determined to help them... i like the little subversion of victim/hero going on, the implication that kris might be the one who needs rescuing.

the additional story/lore that came with the spamton sweepstakes made me CRAAAZYYYYY like my GOD... it's cute that noelle likes glitches/creepypasta when kris is kinda a walking creepypasta <3 also, god, noelle falling asleep listening to kris playing piano in the other room... there's so much like. wistfulness and nostalgia and this like... distant/detached intimacy packed into how noelle narrates that scene. it's kind of funny how much there is to dig into when like on a surface level they're just fairly regular childhood friends who grew apart LMAO they're extremely deep to me okay...

on another note i guess i do ship them? i like their dynamic whether it's platonic or romantic (the best is a weird mix of both 👍). it just can't be boring LOL like... this is one ship where trying to apply cookie cutter tropes to them really falls flat and the game is ahead of you on that anyway. in terms of romantically shipping them, i honestly don't think they're doomed to repeat patterns forever... i think they could actually be good for each other! but that's not really the aspect of their relationship that interests me akldjf;alk;sdg maybe i will make 60 page comic of kriselle going to couples counseling some other time

Reddie Fic Recs

Okay so these are the ones I go back to and reread constantly!! All listed have multiple chapters, impeccable grammar/structure, and RIDICULOUSLY good characterization/dialogue. Theyre also all located on AO3. My obsession is too late for peak fandom interactions so these are what keep my hyper fixation alive.

1. In The Heat Of The Summer (You’re So Different From The Rest) by Kaboomslang

There’s a heatwave in L.A., the first time Richie sees Eddie naked.

Or

One very hot year in the life of two idiots in love, working shit out.

It is so so so so fucking good I can’t stand it. It’s an Eddie Lives AU that is 15 Chapters and 109,525 words of pining and comfort and beauty. Eddie comes to stay with Richie in LA after the events of It Chapter 2. Literally my only complaint is that Stan stays dead however the characterization of everyone and the way the writer handles their grief more than made up for it.

2. A Strange Sense of Familiarity by Katranga

“So Eddie, what brings you to the bar tonight?" Richie asked. "Gonna rebound from the divorce? Pick up a hot young twenty-something to feel young again?”

“Fuck you,” Eddie said, jutting his chin forward. “What a terrible way to ruin the mood.”

“I’m sorry, all my moods are poorly cultivated. What mood were you looking for?”

A nervous lump grew in Eddie's throat. He threw back his drink to get rid of it.

Hand wrapped around the glass he’d just slammed back onto the bar, he said, “The mood that gets me leaving with a schlubby forty-something.”

Pre-chapter two, Eddie and Richie meet and don't remember each other, but have an instant connection anyway...

This may be my favorite fic of all time. This is a Canon Divergence AU where Richie and Eddie meet at a bar prior to the events of It Chapter 2 and start sleeping together. Eddie is divorced so there’s no infidelity storyline (which I appreciate) HOWEVER Richie is still famous and in the closet so there’s still the secret love affair storyline (that I love). The characterization is literally perfect, it has amazing dialogue, and my boy Stan is alive and involved. The OCs are so so good too and I’m beyond obsessed with all the thought the author obviously put into it.

3. Sweeter By The Hour by Katranga

Richie’s a struggling standup comedian slash bartender with a side hustle of sexting rich guys for cash. Eddie is recently divorced, recently out, and reluctant to dive into either the dating or hookup scene. He decides to give Sugr, a 'dating app with no commitment', a shot.

Katranga NEVER MISSES. Even though the losers club is in a completely different universe, the characterization and dialogue is so them that it scratches every itch in my brain. This is such a funny and adorable AU I would recommend to anyone that needs a break from the high stress and extremely high stakes of the traditional It Universe.

4. Here In Your Arms by kaspbrak_kid

Richie had no idea what to expect when Stan and Patty asked him to be their daughter's godfather, but it definitely wasn't becoming the part-time dad to a newborn.

This fic makes me cry like a bitch in the best way possible. This is a several years later fic in a Eddie and Stan Lives AU where Richie becomes godfather to Stan and Patty’s firstborn. This is so so special to me because it perfectly preserves The Loser’s Club dynamics in a safe environment and gives me all the found family warm fuzzies I so desperately need. As usual the characterization is phenomenal and Richie and Eddie’s relationship throughout this fic is so so special to me.

5. Richie Tozier’s Five-Step Mission in Getting Over His Childhood Sweetheart by MissDinahDarling

Alternatively: five times Richie tries to get over Eddie and the one time he gets under him instead.

This fic is so so fucking funny I love everything about it. Its also a Stan and Eddie Live AU and thehe dialogue and losers club dynamics are so so funny. I love seeing little snippets of how the losers lives are moving on and especially appreciate that Bev and Ben didn’t move as quickly as some fics do. Richies denial and stupidity are so relatable and its an extremely comforting read.

6. River by Unicornpoe

The thing—the thing is that Eddie hasn’t seen Richie in nearly five years.

They’ve gotten good at avoiding each other. They alternate holidays and get-togethers, only showing up when they’re sure the other won’t be present. They’re still in the same fucking city but Eddie makes sure to shop on the other side of town from their old place where Richie still lives, makes sure not to go to any of Richie’s favorite restaurants or bars or cafes or goddamn park benches. Eddie doesn’t join in on the Losers’s group FaceTime sessions when he knows Richie’ll be joining, and Richie does the same for him.

They couldn’t make their relationship work, but they’re fucking experts at being exes.

Eddie goes to spend the holidays at Bill and Mike's cabin in Vermont, and is surprised when Richie is already there. Things get worse when they're snowed in alone. Things get even more worse when Eddie remembers that he's still in love with him.

This fic gives me the most acute sense of profound longing I’ve ever had in my life. The EXTREMELY angsty hurt/comfort au I’ve ever read in my life. Not extremely inclusive of the rest of The Losers Club, but it hits hard.

7. This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by camerasparring

Just as the last car is passing them, Prince Charming makes a snuffling noise and Eddie freezes, still pressed on top of him. He’s suddenly aware of every single place they’re touching, and Eddie thanks the brutal Chicago cold - there’s no way he could pop a boner when it’s this freezing. God, he hates himself.

The man opens his eyes for a moment and looks directly into Eddie’s eyes. Eddie’s mouth hangs open. He tries to smile, but he doesn’t think he achieves it. Instead, he swallows and says:

“Merry Christmas.”

The guy passes back out without a word.

or, the While You Were Sleeping AU no one asked for. Set Christmas 1995 and the gang is late 20's/early 30's

I read this before ever even hearing of the movie While You Were Sleeping. While the movie is now one of my favorites, it is absolutely nothing compared to the hilarious romcom of this fic. Found family! Secrets! Drama! Stan the mother fucking man! It is so so good and gives me all the good feelings the holidays provide whenever I read it.

8. Scratch On The Moon by Vulcanodon

Eddie Kraspbak has put aside his old life for good. He drives a stagecoach now and keeps to himself- his days of running with the Denbrough gang are long gone. But when two old friends show up and tell him they have unfinished business back in Derry, Eddie can’t resist the chance to put a final nail in the coffin of the past…and maybe find out why Richie broke his promise all those years ago.

“I’ll take left if you take right,” Eddie calls out but when he looks over Richie isn’t even firing his gun; he’s looking at Eddie with a strange, unreadable expression on his face.

“What is it?” Eddie asks, panicking. “Are you hit?”

“No,” Richie says, “I just. I just wanted you know. That I…that I feel the same way.”

“What?” Eddie asks, totally lost. A bullet whistles past his ear.

“I mean I...” Richie says, as if he’s struggling to get it out. “I feel the same way about you. I mean. That I always did.”

“Could we maybe postpone this conversation?” Eddie says, having to yell over the gunfire. “To a time when we aren’t getting shot at?”

Okay, Richie, so you’ve just been Shaggy Dog’d, you’re either kicking it in the weirdest of all possible afterlives or you never died and the sewer clown is punking you. What next?

(or: Eddie makes it out of Derry, gets a divorce, and adopts a dog.)

Richie gets “Shaggy Dog’d” after he sacrifices himself for Eddie during the events of It Chapter 2. Grief, pining, and Richie’s internal monologue being fucking hilarious. And STAN LIVES!!!!!!

10. Thanks For Pudding Up With Me by Mooeydooey

Eddie Kaspbrak was once one of the most influential professional chefs in New York. After an unfortunate incident in his kitchen, he loses his job and most of his earnings. Down on his luck, with no where else to go, he accepts a job offer with the ragtag 'Prospect Test Kitchen' in Boston.

What starts as a small passion project, making cooking tutorials online, becomes a lot more complicated and bigger than they could ever imagine when Bill brings in a new addition to their team. A comedian with a shocking background and surprise talent for culinary arts: Richie Tozier.

Eddie's the only one who doesn't like the new recruit, but Bill bribes Eddie into giving Richie a chance. At the end of six months, Richie's contract will expire. Eddie will get to decide whether they offer him a contract renewal, or refuse to re-hire him.

Things are heating up in the Prospect street Test Kitchen! Will Eddie stick to his guns, and keep his dignity? Or will he get lost in the sauce?

SO FUCKING FUNNY!!! An absolutely genius buzzfeed-esque au that is exactly what I need when I want a laugh. My favorite parts are when they go into like a third person screenplay mode for describing the events in the videos. I cannot get enough of this enemies(?) to friends to lovers au and I’m so so glad it exists.

11. A Fistful of Coal Dust by Jay Auris (nighthawkms)

Eddie Kaspbrak usually works alone. For a bounty hunting mage, this is unheard of; dangerous, foolhardy. But for Eddie - stricken with a dangerous abnormality to his magic - it's the safest way to survive.

When a new bounty takes him to the backwater town of Derry, he's not expecting anything more than a hard job done right for good money. But Eddie's past is about to catch up with him, and Derry could face the consequences. A super fun Steampunk-Western-Magic-Bounty Hunter AU that has the perfect ratio of action, drama, and intrigue. I have no idea how the author came up with such an amazing idea and how they were able to do so much incredible world building but I absolutely LOVE IT.

Since I'm currently only writing AruAni, I feel like making Armin smart is a really fucking hard job xD For his character development, I need him to use his stellar brains, but that means I gotta make him use his stellar brains... and... T^T yeah, I worry a lot that readers will find what ultimately happens sounds silly/not clever enough.

🍉in what ways has writing helped you process trauma and/or navigate through your own life? My fics are all a representation of things I want in my life, both the big and small. For example, in Chap 3 of VBEOW, Armin and Annie share hot chocolate in the kitchen in the early hours of the morning; that kind of comfortable intimacy and quiet shared space is something I also crave. Another example is in the very first part of the series where Annie gets Armin to cry and grieve - it's a reflection of the fact that I too want to care for someone in that kind of way. xD This is prolly TMI xD Sorry xD

💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting? I believe Falling into Neptune was received better than I expected. I hadn't written anything that intense in a very long time, so I was pleasantly surprised when it got a hotter reaction than I was expecting. It made me realize I can create tension without making the characters take off their clothes -- a fact I am a bit proud of T^T Sorry.

🤍what's one fic of yours you think people didn't "get"? Hmmm. So Time Falls like Moonlight is a mammoth of a story to get through, but I put a whole lot of thematic depiction in this (it literally has 10+ scenes) and maybe it is the fact that it's very long and also that it's got a sequel already going on, so it feels like people have glossed over it. But oh well xD I'm happy with the reactions I have received :3

💥find your least kudos'd fic - say something wonderful about it. The Lamplighter, Tokyo Ghoul. A fic about the relationship between Amon and his foster father Donato, with a slightly supernatural/fantasy twist, but still remains true to canon. It has very little kudos or interaction but I expected that, because people usually come to read romantic pairing fics and this is strictly a father-son fic. I still really like it though, it's probably badly written for the me of today's POV, but it's got a special place in my heart xD

🎙️which one of your fics would you like someone to make a pod-fic of? O_O Oh.. uh...that's a thing? xD I totally didn't know! But what works for a pod-fic tho? Dialogue heavy fics? Action/emotional monologue heavy fics? Maybe everything works? In which case... anything really T_T I'd be over the moon (pun intended)

I have actually been so curious to see how c&f OC will act now that she's overheard Jungkook and his uncle. I feel like he deserves to be put through it a little bit, you know? I definitely feel like she'll be a loooot colder to him now and he'll try to turn his charm all the way up. I still feel like that wouldn't help though and the only way to fix the situation would be to just be honest about everything. I'm sure there will be some angst before that happens though and I'm excitedddd. But I have been wondering a lot about them recently and I would love a teaser to see what they're up to 👀👀👀

And of course cmi couple are on my mind 24/7 too. After that drabble I've been missing the way they used to be so much 😭😭😭 I miss him reassuring her and taking care of her, helping her deal with her parents. I hate seeing her so sad and I think now that she's trying to be more emotionless and shutting her friends out, it will be even more painful to witness.

I've been thinking a lot about how it will be when they finally have a serious talk about everything that happened. Jungkook apologising and opening up to OC.... Their first kiss after getting back together.... all of those thoughts have me tearing up already, I have no idea how I'll actually be able to read all of that and survive.

Alsoooo when you said that Kook's confession might be connected to his family I started wondering... did he do something that he's not so proud of to defend his family? Maybe to defend Ria? That made me go back to cmi lights to reread the scene with her and I saw this: “So…” Ria hums, sighing, and a memory flashes through her brain before she adds, suddenly understanding, “scared.” maybe it has something to do with it, maybe it doesn't, but what struck me is that he described himself as scared when he was talking to Tae about it in cmi 7.5 and that's how Ria describes him here too. So I guess my theory is that perhaps he did something a little violent to protect his family, like got in a fight? And he's scared of that version of himself coming out when he feels that someone he loves is in danger in some way? If that's the case, then he's definitely had some progress because I still remember when he held himself back from fighting Jin's friend at the club (in cmi layers i think?) because he thought it through and realised it would hurt OC 🥺🥺🥺 I loved him for that then and I still do now. I'm normally so bad at coming up with theories but I'm throwing this one out there.

One of my favorite things about your story is Kai and the way he sees a lot of things. Like in the last chapter, because he's right about pretty much everything about Garmadon! And I don't know I just love the way you write Kai everything just feels so in character when you write him. Can't wait for the Lloyd and Kai moments! If I may ask, What are you're favorite moments from Kai in the show and why?

Kai just...unexpectedly comes easy to me? At first I thought he'd be a really hard character to write for because for a long time he was, like, my 5th favorite ninja snksnk (he's teetering around 2nd/3rd now) but his voice/dialogue/direction is just so GOOD that I can just always hear his voice in my head and I can get a pretty good picture of what he's probably thinking about things xD (...really the only thing I changed was making him more prone to crying, but I'll chalk that up to his softer movie personality seeping into show!Kai's intense emotions haha)

Anyway, fave Kai moments? Lessee:

The "I shouldn't have come on my own" from the Pilots is a perfect way to summarize his "growth" in what is otherwise a special where nothing happens lol, but also I just generally really like Pilot!Kai because he's so indifferent about a lot of things but warms up to stuff eventually and that just feels so realistic and fascinating to me so shout out to that

His rousing little speech at the finale of S1 just before they go to build the Super Sonic Raider. They're at the lowest point they've been (so far) and you wouldn't expect HIM to be the one to try and rouse everyone up again, but he is, and he does it perfectly, and I love that for him <3

The "I Should've Been the Green Ninja" moment is just *mwah* It was an escalation I hadn't been expecting WHATSOEVER, but it made sense?? And the reveal of Kai genuinely not wanting to think like that but also still feeling like that regardless is delicious and full of potential that never panned out but was still really cool and still gives me brainrot! (Totally didn't manifest that into Jesse too hahah nope)

(Actually all of S4 counts; it was one of the few times his personality was allowed to just thrive instead of just reacting to everyone else. His coping of Zane's death. The way he united everyone on their Elemental Dragons towards the end. The eternal Lloyd support. The Kailor Krumbs. The Double Crossing. All the savagery towards everyone else at any given moment. Just. Aaah. Do not get me started on S4 to ANY degree I won't stop)

Aight in the later seasons Kai doesn't really get a specific moment to shine so to speak (except the get-your-powers-eye-glow moment which was dope) BUT whenever he DOES crop up for a scene or gets a line he SELLS IT SO HARD??? Sometime I swear Vincent realized Kai was getting the short end of the sticka nd thus tried to make Kai as memorable as possible whenever he speaks and I just think that should be recognized more <3

Aaaand that's enough, I'm not quite as passioned about him as the average Kai fangirl in the days of old but I do hold a lot of thoughts about him in my head and my heart

sorry for the long wait, had to make time for my scarletwitch! baby fushiguro series and cry over the recent chapters for tokyo revengers. im pretty sure i bored you guys with the lack of fight scenes and vague backstory in the previous chapters, so you—our badass and girlboss reader—allow me to make it up to you with this one! im also trying to write longer chapters, hopefully this one is lengthy to your liking <3

becoming a member of toman didn't really change anything.

you were still picking fights, stealing money from the men and gang members you'd beat up, people still feared you and feared you even more. rumors of you joining the said gang spread like wildfire once again. as soon as rie found out, you got socked in the jaw by your friend for the first time and got scolded right afterwards. especially when she got you to confess that you went head-to-head with mikey, your supposed boyfriend.

"you're so stupid! why would you fight the invincible mikey? no wonder you were covered in bandages!" rie continued to scold you as if she were your mother while patching you up. "don't tell me you fought him again. did you get into a gang fight?"

you sighed, your eyes averting themselves away from rie's worrisome ones. "no, but i did participate in a fight club at shinjuku yesterday after i met up with baji, chifuyu and mitsuya."

"you never told me anything about you joining a fight club, [name]-san." rie furrowed her brows at you, causing to stifle a small fit of laughter.

"sorry about that, but i'm fine. i won a lot of money yesterday. the match was great, i got to fight the white leopard." you claimed, causing rie to go pale.

"isn't that guy one of the founding members of black dragon?" rie gulped at the mentioned name, "are you out of your mind?"

"it wasn't an easy match. it's a good thing i was able to convince a friend and the guy himself." you sighed, before laughing and shaking your head.

"do me a favor [name]-san and take care of yourself. one of these days you'll give me a heart attack."

rie let out a small huff of breath which you simply grinned at. "you can't always walk these off." she gestured at your bandaged arms and patched up jaw.

"you were the one who socked me in the jaw!" you retorted.

rie retorted back, "shut up! you deserved that one!"

after some talking and explanation, rie had finally accepted the fact that you were now a member of toman. it's not like she could stop you anyway. she wasn't doubting your capabilities, she just couldn't stand you getting hurt and meaningless fights. sure, she gets that you do it for the money at times but was it really necessary?

the two of you were about to head home from the main gate of the campus when a group of motorcycles stopped in front of you and to your surprise it wasn't toman. it was a different biker gang.

rie immediately hid behind your back, fearfully tugging on the sleeve of the oversized jacket over your school uniform as the rest of the students outside the campus with you two stepped back. you furrowed your brows and caught sight of a gang insignia embroidered on the black jackets of the woman riding the bikes. that's right, it wasn't men but women that were years older than you, probably ninteen and above.

for the first time, you felt your body tremble. you had never felt fear instill you just like this. memories of the past resonated. you instinctively stood in front of your friend, readying into a wide stance as the group of women hopped off their rides to walk towards you.

they were after you, of course.

once they were about a meter away from you, one of them decided to approach you closer and made their distance from you smaller. you watched as the tall woman peered down at you, her red painted lips curved into a smirk with her hand resting on her hip.

you calmly raised a brow at her, masking your fear with a phlegmatic expression. "who are you?"

"i didn't think you'd be this small and young." your eyes widened. "i expected the belladonna to be.. i don't know?someone older. aren't you a middle schooler?"

it was no wonder the insignias on their jackets were familiar. these weren't just women; they were once yours, but you didn't recognize the jackets they wore right away. they changed it. they no longer bore the spider symbol, it was a snake instead. at the instant, you realized that these were no longer the widows.

what did she do? you thought to yourself, feeling a bead of sweat trickle down from your temple.

she had never told you anything about reforming. in fact, you haven't heard from her or the others again since you left.

"you seemed to be confused. were you not informed that things changed?" the woman raised a brow at you, letting out an amused scoff.

rie looked at you, inched closer to you and whispered. "[name]-san, what is she talking about? why is she calling you belladonna?"

before you could even answer rie, the woman had already beaten you to it. "we're no longer the widows, we're medusa now."

"what do you want?"

you hardened your gaze. god, your fists were trembling and your heart was pounding against your ribcage. a flurry of wild emotions spiraled from your chest. what have they done to misaki's legacy?

"we would just like to confirm if the rumors are true." the woman tapped her chin, eyes looking up to pretend she was thinking. "you abandoned the widows for good and affiliated yourself with shibuya's little gang, the tokyo manji gang."

blinking, you snapped your head. "i did what was best for them!"

"yeah, yeah and then you hooked up with toman's leader? some bitch you are." the other girl of the group laughed with mockery. "not only have you gone soft, but you became a whore too!"

unable to surpress your boiling blood, your body subconsciously moved on it's own. in a split second, you left rie's side and appeared in front of the woman who called you a bitch and a whore. the next thing she knew—her head met the ground with a harsh blow as you high roundhouse kicked her with your right leg.

the students of the campus panicked at the commotion that had just brewed. everyone fled, running from the scene except for rie who ran towards you to stop you but was held by the collar by the other women.

"let me go! leave [name]-san alone!" rie thrashed from their hold, punching and kicking but it was useless. they had a much stronger grip on her.

"release her."

you turned your head towards them, pulling the girl who had knocked to the ground by the hair with the heel of your shoes digging harshly against her skull. "you don't want to do this."

"we should be the one saying that, belladonna." they snickered.

without another second, you kicked the woman in your hold enough to knock her out cold. you didn't care if the campus planned on spreading this rumor next. you didn't care if this would reach the higher ups anymore or if they passed by you. these people had rie and you had already failed to protect her once from moebius. you weren't going to let anything happen to your friend this time, you didn't need a second time.

you threw yourself onto the first one, hooking your legs around her neck and threw across the ground. you raised your arm right on time as a fist was thrown in your face. you held back a hiss of pain. your arms were still a bit bruised from yesterday's match, but you paid no mind to it. you slid to the right and ducked on time for a kick aimed for you. you proceeded to throw punches and kicks, connecting your fists to jaws and faces while you simultaneously blocked hits. this went on for a good ten minutes until they were all down but all of them were a force to be reckoned with. none of these girls went down easily without a fight.

once you had gotten towards the woman holding your friend hostage, you wiped the blood dripping down your chin as you faced her. "give rie back to me and leave. this is your final warning."

"you'd risk your life for this girl but leave hundreds of us?" the woman frowned at you. "what's so special about her? what does she have that we don't?!"

"i didn't abandon the widows. i made sure all of you had everything before i stepped down. i even left sumire to lead the rest of you!" you retorted.

"sumire is no longer the president, the widows were forced to reformed ever since you left and now we pay the price, and so will you." your face contorted into a look of confusion. what did she mean by force? what happened to sumire?

before you could get answers, rie was suddenly thrown towards you but you caught her right on time and the woman brushed past you, purposely bumping your shoulders in the process as she tended to her beaten comrades.

"hey, what do you mean by that?"

you called out to her, but it was useless. she stopped talking and proceeded to help the others get on their rides to retreat, leaving you in the dust. you scoffed. your knees buckled to the floor, bringing rie along with you in the process.

all this time you thought you made the right choice and you had finally broken free from the past, but now it was haunting you. perhaps, it wasn't meant to be. you were not meant to be free. the ties you thought you had cut off were still bound to you.

rie placed a hand on your shoulder, gently shaking you. "[name]-san?"

tears filled the brim of your eyes and the next you knew, you had broken down before your friend. confused, she pulled you to her embrace and laid your head on the crevice of her neck, rubbing shapes on your back.

it was all your fault.

rie knew nothing about you, even if you two happened to be close friends. you never told her anything about your previous schools or your past life at all. it never became your topic, even though it had always crossed her mind. all she knew was that you were capable of fighting and that you got expelled.

but this time, she had to know. she wanted to more about you. rie wanted to help, even if it just meant listening to your story and being your shoulder to lean on.

rie accompanied you all the way to your apartment and as soon as you two got inside, she made you sit down on your couch and went to the cupboards for a first aid kit. it wasn't long until she returned with the supplies.

rie sat down on your coffee table, she helped you take off your jacket, unwrapped your bandages and began to clean the cut on the end of your lip with a cotton ball dipped in wound disinfectant. you were too caught up in your thoughts to mind the stinging pain, but it hurt.

you two were silent for awhile until your friend decided to break the ice cold tension in the atmosphere and adress the elephant in the room. "[name]-san, who were those girls?"

taking a deep breath, you opened your mouth to speak but a knock resounded from your door and left you two confused. you weren't expecting any guests at all. you took initiative to stand and walked towards the door, a gasp escaped your breath as soon as you opened it to see mikey, draken, baji, mitsuya, pah-chin, takemichi and chifuyu outside.

they mimicked your surprised expression, their eyes falling onto the scratches and bruises on your arms and face. mikey was the first one to react and immediately step inside to take hold of you.

"what happened to you?!" mikey patted you all over, taking a good look of your casualties.

draken eyed you, raising a brow as he and others let themselves in after mikey. "did you get jumped?"

"i.. what are you guys doing here?" you pulled yourself away from mikey's hold, stepping backwards as rie got up and walked towards your side.

"mikey wanted to surprise you and he tagged us with him, but you surprised us instead.." pah-chin claimed, pointing at your battered state.

you pinched the bridge of your nose. this was all too much for a day. you turned towards rie who glanced at you with a knowing look. with a smile, she placed a hand on your shoulder and gave it a quick pat before facing the toman boys. "could you give me and [name]-san a minute? i need to patch her up first."

the boys looked at rie, then you before nodding in unison. a relieved sigh trailed from your lips.

"i'll explain later. make yourselves at home." you gestured at the couch you and rie occupied earlier before the two of you made your way towards the bathroom with the first aid supplies.

once you two entered the bathroom, you closed lid of the toilet before sitting on it so rie could clean and patch you up. "how do they know where you live?" rie striked up a conversation.

you shrugged your shoulders, "mikey fetched me home after we fought and went to a hospital."

after that you two were silent again. it was awkward somehow. eventually, rie hurried up as she didn't want the boys to wait and by the time she did, she helped you get dressed in looser and more comfortable clothes since it was difficult for your to maneuver with bandages and ointment wrapped and lathered on your skin in your uniform.

once you exited the bathroom along with rie, you found the boys taking up the space of the couch and coffee table while they snacked on the food they brought. they immediately straightened their posture the moment they saw you.

pah and takemichi offered their space for you and rie to sit. once everyone settled in, all eyes were on you once again and they actually couldn't stop looking at your injuries.

"are.. are you okay?" it was definitely a dumb question coming from takemichi, but honestly, it was more relieving to hear than being bombarded of what happened to you.

"i've dealt worse, honestly." you managed a chuckle, glancing at the blonde boy who was standing up near you along with pah-chin.

"what the hell happened, [name]?" you know mikey isn't kidding around when he drops the nicknames. he faced you with a serious look of concern.

"i didn't think i'd be explaining myself to you guys too. i was only expecting rie, but all of you are already here. i can't do anything about that, can i?" you raised brow, glancing at them one by one who simply shrugged.

"alright, here it goes. lend me your ears."

resuming what you were supposed to be telling rie, you straightened your back and leaned against the sofa before speaking. "toman isn't my first gang. it's my second. i used be a part of an all-girl that i founded myself in my previous school. we called ourselves the widows. i made the gang for the protection of the girls in and out of our school and to continue my mentor's footsteps."

at that exact moment, each of them held a look of astonishment with rie, "i lead the widows two years ago before stepping down and giving the position to my right hand woman, but i lost contact with them after i transferred in my current school."

"you.. you were a gang leader?" baji pointed out the obvious, mouth gaping.

mitsuya commented, "and you didn't tell us?"

"but, why did you step down?" mikey asked, eyes still wide.

you hung your head and ran your fingers through your hair. "i fucked up my academic record with the things i did with my gang, had to cover up for my girls and apart from that, i wasn't in the right state of mind." you shook your head, your eyes fell to the floor. "when misaki died—i can't explain it—i felt lost. i didn't know what to do. the grief and pain was just as heavy as my responsibilities, especially when the sirens integrated with us. it wasn't as good as it used to be."

mikey stood up from his seat, "sirens? as in the sirens?!"

"sirens?" takemichi raised a brow. "what's that?"

"during my older brother's time.. he told me about an all-girl gang that the black dragon never defeated when they took over tokyo and it was the only one they couldn't defeat." mikey explained, shaking up the entirety of everyone inside the room excluding you.

realization hit baji's head like a brick wall as he recalled as to why the name sounded familiar to him before snapping his fingers. "your mentor, misaki.. was the leader of the sirens."

you nodded your head, "yes, misaki was."

"they told me that my right hand woman is no longer leading them and that they were forced to reform. they're now known as medusa, not widows or sirens." you continued explaining, rubbing your temples. "all i got was this message; 'they pay the price now and so will i' earlier after i got jumped."

"i think.. they're mad at me and it's reasonable i suppose." you shrugged your shoulders afterwards.

"reasonable? how is that reasonable?" mikey snapped, pointing at your battered state. nose fuming as his gaze hardened into an angry glare. "if they really were your comrades, they wouldn't do that to you and of all people, they should know why you stepped down and left."

"mikey-kun, calm down." takemichi attempted to sooth the blonde boy's tension.

mitsuya claimed, "there must be a reason for all of this."

right in the middle of your heated discussion with toman, a knock resounded from your door again. everyone glanced at you, rie included, but you were just as surprised as them.

"are you expecting anyone else besides us?" pah-chin raised a brow at you, which you shook your head at.

you were about to stand up from your seat but mikey raised a hand at you to stop you. instead, he got up from his spot and went to the door. you watched as the rest of the boys got ready to protect you and rie in case the same women were at the door.

with mikey's guard heightened, he twisted the knob open but to his surprise—no one was there. his eyes looked down the left and right corridor, trying to find the person but all he found was an envelope in front of your door.

mikey snatched the black envelope from the floor before shutting your door close and turning his head at you, waving the piece of item. "someone left this."

he walked back to you and handed it over. you inspected the black envelope and noticed the familiar snake insignia embedded on it along with a belladonna flower. this was definitely addressed to you.

your hands felt clammy. you could already tell that whatever this envelope had, it was bad news. with a shaky grasp, you opened the envelope and saw that it contains pictures and a letter. you reached for the polaroids first and good god, you wished you didn't. the moment you saw what these pictures actually were, your stomach churned and your head felt heavy.

"[name]-san? why are you.." rie tapped your arm and noticed how you were suddenly shaking.

the pictures slid from your fingers fell on the floor. your chest tightened and the pain cut off your air supply. your breathing had turned into a gasp as you sinked your back further into the sofa.

"[name]-san! what's wrong?!" your friend's voice drowned in the background.

baji reached for the polaroids you dropped and brought it upclose. it was only a matter of seconds until he mirrored your uneasiness.

"what the fuck?!" he managed to yell.

everyone inched closer to baji to see what you and him had just saw. they weren't just polaroids—they were pictures of young women, bleeding, bruised and battered all over. their clothes covered in holes and dirt, tears streaming down their faces. they were in a much worse state than you are. some of them had their hair being pulled up by men for the picture and some were lying on the floor. it was a sickening sight to the stomach.

you clutched the envelope in your hands, taking the letter that was with the polaroids. still with unsteady breathing, you skimmed over the words addressed to you, but all you could think about was the condition of your girls, especially sumire—your former right hand.

"[name], who are these girls?" mikey snatched the polaroids from baji.

you crumpled the piece of paper in your trembling hand. "my girls."

without another word, you stood up from your seat and threw the letter along with the envelope. your footsteps were heavy as you made your way towards your bed.

not only did they did filthied the gang, but they hurt your girls. you reached for the box underneath your bed and pulled out. everyone got up from their seats, following you to see you pull up something from an old container that looked like had been sitting for quite some time now under your bed. it was an old, oversized jacket with a spider insignia with belladonnas embroidered on it.. along with it was a wooden sword, a bokken to be exact.

"is.. is that a wooden sword?!" takemichi failed to surpress his scream.

you took hold of the wooden sword, pressed your forehead on the hilt and held the jacket to your chest. you had forgotten the heavy responsibility and memories that came along with this weapon and uniform.

"it was misaki's."

you never once used it after her death. you couldn't bring yourself to use it again since it just reminded you of your hellish days of grief.

"why do you have a bokken, misaki-san?" you gulped, you had never used a wooden sword before and what's even more concerning was the fact that your mentor had one in her possessions.

"i used to practice swordsmanship as a sport and with this bokken, i protect everyone." misaki effortlessly twirled the wooden sword in her fingers, beaming you a smile before handing it to you. "but, now i want you to have it."

"eh? but i don't know anything about swordsmanship misaki-san! and this is yours." you shook your head, pushing the wooden sword to her in attempt to return it.

"no, takeback-sies! president's strict orders, unless you want me to demote you to lackey now?" misaki folded her arms across her chest.

"i won't just be teaching you fists, i want you fight with blunts too [name]. as the successor of the sirens, i want you to be prepared."

"you're not going after medusa, are you now, [name]-san?" rie spoke up, eyes now frantic with worry and concern.

"if you plan on taking them on, take us with you." pah-chin tells you firmly which the other members strongly agreed on. "you're a part of toman now. if one of us gets hurt, it's all for one and one for all."

you shook your head, snapping your head at pah-chin. "no, this isn't your fight. this is my fight and responsibility."

"medusa has the sirens, not just the widows. you can't just go against an entire gang on your own!" baji quips through his gritted teeth. "do you have a death wish?!"

"all of you are going to officiate the fight." you retorted, "you will just worsen the conflict, so toman can't interfere with this one."

"we? but we never agreed to any of those terms." mikey interjected, picking up the letter you crumpled and tossed away to see what was written in there.

"it has already been decided and it's not like i had a choice either. if i reject the conditions, the others are finished." your eyes faltered. "i have to fight this one alone, mikey."

mikey closed his eyes, his hands closing into trembling fists. evidently furious at the conditions given. as much as he wanted to intervene, he didn't want to risk it—not with your friends on the line.

in acquiescence, mikey takes in a sharp breath of air before rubbing his face. "when and where will this take place?"

"in three days, one of tokyo's container port at koto-ku, midnight."

for the past few days, you spent your time recovering and getting ready for the big dispute. the toman boys wouldn't leave your side ever since you've told them your past and now the conflict you had with the reformed widows, medusa. mikey would assign someone to look after you and rie, and sometimes he'd do so himself. it was difficult to leave their side, but when you finally got some time away from them. you headed to shinjuku; a day before your biggest fight yet and entered the ever familiar gym.

not only was it the place where you trained, it was also the place where you see your other friends and sign up for matches whenever you felt like picking fights.

"[name]! you big dummy!"

you were instantly engulfed in a pink haired girl's arms the moment you stepped inside, causing you to sigh.

"hello to you too, senju." you shook your head with a smile, stretching an arm out to pat her back in return.

"your name and conflict with the medusas is spreading all over tokyo! how are you so calm about this?" senju pulled you from her embrace, now grasping both of your shoulders.

"more importantly, how did you get tied up with medusa?" the white leopard you faced not too long ago, wakasa, appeared behind senju, raising a brow at you. "i didn't think you'd be this reckless in picking fights."

"medusa and i have a long history together, and it wasn't always like that. medusa used to be known as the widows before it got reformed." you explained, unzipping you oversized jacket before taking it off and picking up a hairtie from your pocket to tie your hair. "i'm taking care of the conflict later midnight."

"history?"

senju's eyes fell on belladonna tattoos on your left and right waist, almost by your lower back, inked in black. it was the first she had ever seen your tattoos, you always had it hidden by a jacket or a top long enough to cover them up. next, her eyes drifted to the bruises on your arms that were still light and visible on the eye.

you proceeded to walk past senju and wakasa, making your way towards the punching bag hanging from a distance, humming at senju. "mhm, history."

you got into a stance and began to throw fists and kicks at the punching bag, landing harsh and swift blows one after another.

"aren't you the slightest bit worried? you're going up against one of the rising gangs in tokyo, medusa ain't an all-girl gang anymore." you glanced at senju's older brother from the corner of your eye before landing a high roundhouse kick to the punching bag.

"i know." you stepped back to catch your breath from the flurry of attacks you had just sent the punching bag with, fully-turning your head towards the tall man. "if i'm going to be honest, i'm scared. i don't know who or what i'm facing anymore. they changed presidents, people and ways."

"does your current gang at least know what you got yourself into?" senju approached you, handing you a water bottle and hand towel.

"yeah, i told them a few days ago. medusa will have them officiate the fight." you nodded your head. "so, they can't interfere."

"i swear i'm coming after you and their asses once i find out you don't walk out of their alive." senju lets out a sharp exhale, her green eyes hardening into a glare. "you really should have rejected the terms right away. why do you insist on fighting the medusa?"

"i plan on taking them all down, especially their leader whoever they are." you shrugged your shoulders, gulping down the water senju gave you in a couple of chugs. "they gave me conditions i cannot object. i've got lives on the line, not just my own."

"then you better get your shit together and come out of there alive." wakasa tells you with a scoff. "you and me, train now. your attacks have gotten sloppier."

"oh, i'm sorry. it's not like i got ambushed by medusa a few days ago, a day after i fought you." you playfully rolled your eyes which earned yourself a flick on the forehead.

"hey, what the hell?" you yelped.

"excuses, excuses." wakasa grabs you by the arm, dragging you in the ring they had in his gym. "have you forgotten the proper way of sending a punch? your systema has gotten shit."

it didn't take long until you were literally dancing with death. you had only managed to beat wakasa once and that was during the match you signed yourself up for the fight club. wakasa was a highly evasive fighter who hits back hard. apart from that, his acrobatic strategies always throws you off.

you lifted your arm on time and caught his leg before pushing it away and simultaneously ramming a fist at him which he merely caught. you stepped back, ducking for another leg he swung at you. you were brought back into defensive mode by wakasa's high leveled maneuvers during your sparring. you figured he learned from your previous match, you could even use sambo against him unlike the last time.

"you still up for another round?" wakasa barely broke a sweat while you were on the opposite side, catching your breath with gasps of air.

"i can't call it a day just yet." you shook your head, wiping the sweat trickling down your face with the back of your hand before readying into another stance. "i'm fighting until i'm out of breath. facing you, mikey and those medusa girls made me rusty."

senju cheered you from the sides, hanging onto the ropes. "that's the spirit, [name]!"

"heh, i like your persistence kid." wakasa pulled the stick of his lollipop from his mouth, tossing it to the side before cracking his knuckles. "you better take me down or else you're not leaving this gym."

"oh, i'm taking you down."

3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

insecurity is a big one i’d say. it’s one of my favorite topics to read about in fics too so naturally it made its way into my writing. we’re not gonna look too deeply into how that relates to my own insecurities and journey into learning to love myself, shhhh. crying is also a theme too, because i want my characters to suffer but i also want them to be able to let it out, give them that release shdjfg

as for smut specific details, crying is once again a thing?? ok sure 😅 and overstimulation too, even in the v first smut i ever wrote (your body’s a tether), though the first time i properly went in on that was for eat bathe (make) love where the entire second and third chapter pete is just overstimulated to hell and back. sorry buddy sdbhf

also — im still learning how to write bdsm and kinda chickened out of realllly exploring it for my past fics, so i just kinda stuck to choking and spanking for most of my vp sex scenes, and in the case of intrinsically i actually kind of regret that (the spanking especially, in hindsight i just don’t think it fits the tone and what the characters would do / need right then)

ooooh shit i actually rly need to think about this one. idk does abo count? shdnjfk i used to read it sort of almost accidentally, not really realizing what i was getting into with that till much later, back when i used to read a lot of sterek fanfiction (and some destiel too). very occasionally an author will do a lot of legwork with worldbuilding and sell me on it for that fic specifically, but in general i havent been into abo or mpreg themes (not counting a ftm trans character in that — the thing i dislike reading is mpreg that can’t occur irl) for a few years now.

i also used to be more into aus that had nothing to do w canon, like high school aus and (for stuff like merlin) modern aus, which is funny bc i wrote a college au and am now writing a historical au w luna, but i never said i wasn’t a hypocrite hdnjgh — but yeah nowadays i almost exclusively read canon-compliant, canon-divergent, or post-canon fics. i came here for these characters in this setting usually, so then that’s what i seek more of 🤷‍♀️

oooh there are MANY. there are some authors whose writing styles have my brain zooming with envy but mostly just so much appreciation and enjoyment. some of my very favorites tend to be angsty fics, and angst is just my go to vibe and genre to read, so while i have many favorites that are more happy or humorous, i'm going to specifically shout out two of the angstiest pete-centric ones that made my chest ache with emotion as i read them: milk teeth by constitutiondumpstat; and only the heart knows. by evashougouki (i still havent gotten around to their recent 20k words pete fic nothing. that i just know is going to break me so good. i rly need to get on that asap but consider this a pre-emptive shoutout to that for probably changing my brain chemistry once i read it as well)

For some reason I’m not mad at utahime and Gojo I mean was she the best option for him to move on? Definitely not but also she’s been the only person ( besides obviously his friends and mom) that has been by his side and didn’t judge him for his past mistakes and also tries to understand him so I get why Gojo likes her and while yes dating your besties ex isn’t the best thing to do I really believe she just fell for him and she probably tried to fight those feelings but it happened anyway . it’s also true that Gojo deserves a chance to move on. When sn ended i remember one of the things that made me the saddest was the fact that Gojo was basically trapped in time bc he couldn’t move on while YN moved on, grew as a person and found a new love so this is him trying to move on and good for him I think it’s also time for him to forgive himself and continue with his life.

The scene in the office where he’s trying to communicate with yn in a healthy way shows at least to me that he’s really trying to change his past toxic behaviour and how he felt “embarrassed” when yn found out his rs with utahime also shows that he really doesn’t want to hurt her anymore he just wants to move on and try to find his person like yn did with Toji. Now do I think utahime and he will last ? Tbh I don’t think so but who knows I just think Gojo should move on first before trying anything but one thing I love about ur writing is that is super realistic and honestly most ppl try to fall for other ppl to get over their exes and sometimes IT works. Another thing I liked about Gojo in this chapter is that he was very clear with Utahime he didn’t promise her anything and didn’t hide his real feelings/ situation!!! Finally Gojo you could’ve done this sooner … with your ex wife you know 😒

I think yn is the one who left me a little confused in this chapter her whole pov just sounded like she was trying to convince herself that she’s happy and that she loves toji bc it’s the “ right thing to do “ or “ what it feels right” but I’m still not sure if she loves toji bc of him or bc she just wants the security that Gojo never gave her. When she said she felt like she was in the middle of a couple again it made me very sad but idk if it’s bc she still feels something for Gojo or she’s just feels confused bc she is seeing him moving on with her best friend . Oh and one last thing I think it’s depressing how Gojo is becoming the understanding, caring, communicative, loving man yn wanted him to be but for another woman honestly if I was her I would be crying and throwing up but again it was her who told him to move on 😣

Lastly writing is amazing Saint !!! you’re the best at writing angst please never stop this chapter was amazing

As much as it hurts, I know it’s better off this way, with both of them going their separate ways. I know that gojo will always have a place in y/n’s heart and y/n will always have a place in gojo’s heart. Not much of a question but I’m really proud of y/n. She just wants gojo to be happy but I know that first love wound is gonna hurt for her. Ep 7 was more of a comfort, I really liked it. Make sure to not overwork yourself saint, I really appreciate how hard you work for us <3.

I adored this chapter. You might have seen my rb but I'm actually really happy with the way things are turning out. I think it helps that I'm not worried about who or what our end game is. Whether it's Gojo, Toji, or literally no one, the experience of this story itself has been so satisfying and immersive. No matter how it goes, i just need to see it. The heart is so complicated and I love the absolute ambiguity of it all. Sure there have been plenty of wrongdoings and need for forgiveness, but at the current point in the timeline, I really don't see anyone as right or wrong.

Side note: I had a blast reading people's comments on the most recent chapter. Everyone is so mad 😂

Am I the only one who is not hating on utahime because she's with satoru? Like I am super mad about her not telling y/n about her and satoru and at gojo (I feel like I'm always mad at gojo in this fic💀) but at the same time she's not really trying to sabotage anything because y/n and satoru are done with each other and satoru isn't being dumb and actually isn't filing a case for sachi and they're both now trying to move on.

He's trying again to be better and accept his sins and things are looking up for y/n as well so yeah I'm not really mad at anyone except momjo atm tbh.

(Dont get me wrong yall I've been in yn's position recently but in a way less intense sense and I'll forever be mad about hime not telling yn about he and satoru but I just think I'm not mad at any of them rn.)

7 Anti LO Asks

1. Do you know what really gets my blood boiling about this comic? Persephone and Demeter's relationship.

In the myths, Demeter and Persephone loved each other more than anything. Their reunion is so important - it marked the coming of spring and growth. A whole cult was dedicated to this for crying out loud. Yes, the myths were far from perfect, but the Persephone and Demeter myth showed the strength of a loving mother-daughter relationship with Demeter searching endlessly to find her child that was ripped away and had her innocence forcibly taken.

Now, RS is not the only author to make Demeter this over-bearing mother type in order to put more positivity onto the Hades-Persephone relationship. However, RS takes this trend to a whole new level - to the point where I would even consider it misogyny.

How is it, she takes this beautiful mother-daughter relationship and makes it out to be an abusive and controlling one, and then takes the Hades-Persephone relationship from a forceful one to a loving, perfect relationship with no problems? How is it ok to ruin one relationship to elevate another?

I understand that many versions of the myth try to downplay Hades' actions, and even make it so Persephone actually falls in love with him and there is no rape. But it doesn't change that this relationship was problematic, and meant to represent the loss of innocence.

Then fans have the gall to claim this comic is feminist and then claim on top of that that Demeter and Persephone's relationship was the same in the myth? These fans clearly don't know the myths, and neither does RS.

Making Hades a good person is fine. Changing it up a bit to make Persephone's loss of innocence something else is also fine. But ruining Demeter and Persephone's relationship? Especially when Persephone has to spend half the year with her? So horrible. 

2. im sorry, but rachel cant introduce KRONOS coming back and then dropping it for several episodes to focus on a stake-less trail and persephone not knowing what lingerie to seduce hades in. like thats too much of an earth shaking development and huge stake plot point to just ignore for months to focus instead on something as minor as hxp's relationship, which only points out a huge flaw: why is hxp's relationship so minor in this? isnt the whole point supposed to be about them?

3. I think LO completely dropped the ball over Hades’ characterization. 

From the first ep I thought ok, this is good, we have some bones to see he’s not that lucky in love and is just tired and lonely, and while ignoring the creepy actions towards Persephone, I thought ok, Artemis hates him, Hestia hates, even Ares hates him, maybe once Persephone finally sees the underworld and probably gets to know him it’ll be a clever twist and they’ll be proven wrong. The underworld will turn out to be fair and just, the citizens will love Hades, he’ll be revealed to be a good leader and king and not like his brothers, it’ll be like everyone saying Hades of myth isn’t actually that bad, and it’ll help reinforce why this sweet and bubbly Persephone wants him, she sees the real him, not the mean rumors and assumptions, this is perfect.

And then it just didn’t happen. The exact opposite happened, actually.

We’re shown the LO underworld is cruel and unjust, where the poor dead are forced into slavery and Hades created a harsh class divide with him and him only on top, the citizens hate him, the underworld gods don’t trust him and openly seem ok if he’s taken out of power, he’s not a good leader and king and doesn’t even want the job yet keeps it for his own ego and grip of power m, and on top of it all he is just like his brothers, if not worse. He loves to get violent over any little slight against him, he hoards wealth and resources to enrich himself while his citizens starve and struggle to survive, he’s corrupt, he controls all the media and laws to bend to his will, sleeps with his brothers wife for centuries behind his back while claiming to be holier than thou, he has sex with his secretaries who are made dependent on him for any way to survive, and now he lusts after his barely legal intern who is also now dependent on him for her way to survive, and that’s only what I remember off the top of my head.

LO perfectly set up to prove Hades isn’t the devil or the false pop culture assumption that he’s evil and to show some actual facts from myth, and yet Rachel only ended up reinforcing exactly that and even making him even worse with her made up ideas, all while thinking having Persephone ignore or excuse it somehow makes it not bad or even a good thing. It’s honestly kind of impressive just how bad of writing that actually is. 

4. Chapter 172 is not that interesting. It’s setup had me excited to see Hephaestus and Hera and learning more about echo, but it’s cut so short. Because again the story can’t leave HXP out for 2 seconds.

I can also see why Zeus is gonna go insane. 

5. i agree w/ other anon. LO should have pulled a PJO or a BoZ and just made up OCs and have them interact with the gods than whatever Rachel thinks shes doing, which is lying she's being accurate and faithful while completely changing all of it, removing what is needed, and adding what isnt so that it lines up with no actual myth besides like, various 50 shades fanfic she read in 2015 and some popular tumblr text posts.

6 . the animation studio behind blood of zeus literally can only draw one face for the men and one face for the women and they were still able to make the gods all look distinct and hot while LO can't even bother to use more than 6 colors and can only have the women look as tiny as possible with the biggest boobs while the men are all just lego men.

Okay so like I stopped reading LO way back before season 1 ended, and a majority of my knowledge of the series comes from what I read here on your blog which is enough for me lol and I decided to read the latest 5 chapters just to see what's up (on zahard. I refuse to give the actual series any views)

And I just. Could not take the whole scene with Daphne running from Apollo seriously? The anatomy and art inconsistency was so distracting that i genuinely could not find it serious. Even when Thanatos discovers her hibernated body I couldn't take it seriously because of how she looked?

And when Hades had that call (??? Was it a call? Or his inner dialogue? I couldn't really tell ngl) with Zeus and said he's causing Persephone unnecessary distress, and that she didn't pose any threat. B!tch??? She killed a ton of mortals??? She has no control over her powers???? She's literally a fugitive for the aforementioned things??? She apparently woke Kronos up? (Idk if anyone knows about that, again my knowledge only spans to whatever I read here) Hello????

And I have a lot to say about the chapters starting the trial but I'll only mention one thing; Hades saying "I don't think blindly supporting my little brother would be doing him any favours (as a ruler)" had me cackling. This is coming from a guy blindly supporting a girl he's literally only known for a few weeks, who's like what, only recently turned 20? Sit tf down Hades you're not cool, you creepy ass overgrown smurf.

Overall I still hate this series lmao. Regarding art though I feel like I wouldn't be so miffed about the anatomy much if the character designs were consistent and the story was compelling. They literally change hairstyles and body types frame by frame, and it's distracting.

The timeline from what I read here is laughable. 4 years in publication with almost 200 chapters and you're telling me only like a month has passed canonically. That's wild and such poor writing.

And as someone who literally will sympathise with any lead character pretty quickly, the story makes me hate them. It makes me want to root against them. I also hate the fact this trash is somehow top ranked on webtoons when so many other stories are far better then it.

There Will Be No Tears (Chapter 1)

Don’t you dare leave me.” Word Count: 2.1k Warnings: So Much ANGST The boy squirmed slightly as you deftly lifted his sleeping form from his crib and nestled him in your arms. You smiled softly as you stared at the carbon copy of your husband swaddled in your arms. You couldn’t deny it, he was handsome. You placed a soft kiss to his cheek, and whispered sweet words of praise in his ears. You noticed a tear sliding down your cheek and quickly lifted your hand to wipe it away, swallowing deeply and repeating the mantra you had created to comfort you during trying times – there will be no tears. You turned and lifted the large baby bag you had packed earlier in the evening, hoisting it over your shoulder. It was full with supplies that would last a few days as you journeyed outside of your husband’s kingdom to a quiet and unsuspecting location, until you had found a place and settled down. You had decided that you and your son would live away from the palace, and have nothing to do with royalty. You’d live a quiet life, the way you used to before you met him. Maybe settle in the River Tribe, somewhere discreet, where you could find peace.  You didn’t want any trouble. You took one last look around your 1 and a half year old son’s room, noticing the large rocking chair T’challa had bought for you the moment you he had discovered you were pregnant. You smiled at the memory – a small smile. The mantra played on repeat in your head. there will be no tears. You hurried out of the room closing the door quietly and began your walk to the west wing of the palace, where you would make your exit. Your eyes took in the architecture of the palace that had been your home for close to 3 years, you would miss it. It was where you had met T’challa. You had loved him, married him, and conceived your beloved son together in the walls of this building. How could you not miss it? Unfortunately, it was also the place that witnessed the breakdown of your marriage, the walls had heard every argument, saw every push, heard every insult, but worst of all it had heard your cries. The cries that had emitted from your lips as you realized that your beloved husband, the king had a lover. A lover who wasn’t you. You remembered the day you found out like it was yesterday, and you probably would for the rest of your life. __ You had woken up in the middle of the night and he wasn’t there. It wasn’t surprising for you to wake up with him gone in the middle of the night, He was king after all. He had a duty to his country and it was a job that did not give him the privilege of getting his 8-10 hours of sleep. Often times he would work through the night. You would always feel him slip back into bed as the sun rose, to kiss your cheeks and pull you close to him once again, returning just in time to spend a few minutes with you as you woke up. If you woke in the middle of the night and missed his presence he could be found in his office, huddled over a stack of papers, with a steaming cup of herbal tea to his side and his glasses on the tip of his nose. Sometimes you would watch him through a crack in the door and go back to bed, your heart content that he was fine. Other times you would give a little knock on the door and let your presence be known.   He’d always welcome you in with a smile and pull you into his lap, leaving you with a kiss on your forehead. If you were really adamant, you’d manage to convince him to come back to bed, and he’d oblige. Every now and then you got comfortable in his lap and let him work as you slept for the duration of the night. This time was different. You had left your bed with a peace offering of herbal tea in hopes of resolving the quarrel that had you both going to bed with your backs facing each other. Instead of seeing T’challa huddled over a stack of papers  you were met with a sight that would change the course of your relationship and Wakanda forever. You saw your husband, with his back facing you as a woman had her hands planted on his desk and her figure arching into his body. “You are my peace.” He said into the woman’s hair, as his arms rested loosely around her waist and his nose was buried in her hair. It was those words that broke you the most. He littered her neck with kisses as she reached back and ran her fingers through his coarse hair. Your husband’s hair. The whole scene made you sick to your stomach and you couldn’t help yourself as the saucer and teacup that held his favourite herbal tea slid out of your hands and crashed onto the polished marble floors of the palace. You were stunned for a second before you turned your back and walked hastily back to your quarters. “Y/N!” he called frantically. He murmured a few words to the woman in his office, took a few hurried strides across the room and closed the mahogany door of his office quietly. He then started his sprint towards you and grabbed your wrist pulling your body to him.   “Y/N…” he said as his voice trailed off. He ran his fingers through the coils that sat atop his head – something he did when he was frustrated. “I’ve been going through a lot, it’s been hard on me you know?” He expected you to say something, but words couldn’t escape your lips. there will be no tears.  You had thought that the increasing number of fights you had been having could be resolved by couples therapy, or communication, anything. You were wrong. This moment made you realize that nothing would solve this broken marriage, it was bigger than you. What you did know is that you wouldn’t have your son growing up in a loveless family, with puppets as parents. Finally, your found your voice. It was wobbly, and you didn’t know how he would take it but you tried anyways. “T’Challa?”  A beat. “ I think we should… I don’t think we should… I can’t –“ you couldn’t finish your thoughts as he interrupted you. “Don’t leave me. Don’t you dare leave me.” He whispered as the grip on your wrist tightened. His head hung low, and he couldn’t look at you and instead chose to focus his sight on the floor. You took note of the pressure on your wrist, nodded and composed yourself. You pulled your wrist from his grip, smoothing the front of your night dress, and made you way back to your chambers. This time, he didn’t return.  But you knew. You couldn’t stay. Your upbringing and dignity wouldn’t allow you to. You wouldn’t be a puppet queen. You couldn’t. It wasn’t in your nature. __ Weeks had passed since that night and you still operated on auto-pilot. You bathed, burped and played with your son as if nothing was wrong. You went to all your scheduled meetings as the queen, you picked out the linens for the dinners that were to be held in that quarter, you had lunches with T’Challa’s mother, you painted your nails, and braided your hair like you usually would. You spoke to your husband as if nothing was wrong. Replying when he asked you questions that he already knew the answer to just to get you to speak to him. “Y/N? Are we attending the Festival of Harvest this year?” he asked while looking at you expectantly looking for anything – something to indicate your anger. You busied yourself with the laundry you were folding and replied in an even tone “Of course, we attend every year don’t we? Why would this year be any different?” This year would be different. By the time the Festival of Harvest rolled around you and Kweku would have left the palace, never to attend another festival again. Prior to the discovery of his infidelity your interactions had been very different. You were bickering back and forth about almost everything. He would spend a few hours a day playing with his son but ignoring his wife. Often times he’d find you and plop Kweku on your lap and say “He needs his diaper changed, you can return him to me when you’re done.” When you questioned why he couldn’t change his diaper, he’d say “It’s the least you could do Y/N, you’re his mother.” In a condescending tone that you’d never thought would leave the mouth of your husband, your Challa.  He would wait for you outside his nursery, and swoop him out of your arms when you exited the room without a word of thanks, and hurry along his way. When you expressed your tiredness while dealing with Kweku, juggling your palace duties, and trying to be a good wife at the same time, he’d simply ask “Y/N, could it be that you’re just not trying hard enough? You must learn to manage it.” T’Challa was never physical with you. Just dismissive, and condescending, and cold. This wasn’t the man you married. Whenever you expressed your concerns about his behavior he’d roll his eyes at you and try to placate you like a child. “If you’d just do what I suggest, you wouldn’t be getting yourself upset over nothing Y/N. Honestly, I don’t know if it’s the pregnancy hormones still swirling about in your system but I’m sure Shuri can help you out if you need it.” With these comments you’d just get more and more heated, which would result in many slammed doors, and a lot of raised voices. You could put up with the arguments, you could fix that, but giving himself to another woman? You couldn’t forgive. You knew you had to be objective with your exit. Though T’Challa had always been sweet to you until recently, he had the capacity to be cruel, he was the Black Panther after all. You wouldn’t put it past him to keep you in the palace as a captive if you made any attempts to leave him, especially with his son. During sex he’d let you know it was he who was dominating your body with skill that made you cry out wantonly every time. “You’re mine Y/N, say it!” he’d growl into your ear, and you would say it, because it was true. __ Your sons whining took you from your thoughts, and you remembered you had to be swift. There was only a small window that would allow you to leave undetected. You had been planning this for weeks. Waiting for the perfect moment. T’challa was gone on an annual hunting trip where many of the  Dora Milaje would accompany him as he wouldn’t be in communication with the palace for 3 days. A lot could happen in 3 days. Today was day one, and you had planned to leave today as it would give you the most amount of time to get as far away from the palace as possible and leave undetected. The palace was still guarded, but loosely, and you knew all the blind spots. Perks of hanging out with Shuri in your down time. You snuck out the side door in the west wing, which led to an unsuspecting dirt road, spotting the cab you had arranged for idling in the shadows. Having already placed your small luggage in the cab before going back to retrieve your son it only took you a moment to settle yourself and a sleeping Kweku in the car.  “What’s your destination?” the cab driver asked you curiously looking at your cloaked figure in the rear-view mirror. You took a deep breath and steadied your voice “Take us North, I’ll tell you where to stop.” The driver nodded his head and began the journey turning on a shitty American station that played pop music and country.   You’d never forget this day. To you, it was monumental because you had managed to pull it off but it was also the day when you turned your back on your duty, your kingdom, your husband and your crown. When that realization struck you, the tears slid down your face disobediently. No matter what, you vowed to never look back

my top 2020 fics!

okay! so i recently jumped back into this fandom after a couple of years, and started reading fic again, and i wanted to rec some of my favorites that were written this year. there’s ten on this list, and i probably could’ve done like 30 but this is already so long lol. it’s kind of in a general order, so #1 is my fav for this year, but i tried not to focus on the ranking too much because it stresses me out and i don’t need any more anxiety so it’s ended up being a pretty vague system.

listen. I’ve reblogged this fic like 10 times. I’ve read it twice already and it came out less than 3 weeks ago. It is an instant classic, right up there with fics like TIF or Wear it like a Crown. It has gorgeous, gorgeous writing, a thoroughly developed plot and well written character development, and such a compelling story. It is a marcel/louis fic, and I usually shy away from that kind of thing, but i’m so glad i didn’t this time because god, this one is so good. Seriously, if anyone ends up reading it, come and rant to me about it and we can cry together. Halfway through the second chapter, I created a note on my phone so I could keep track of everything I loved, and my comment on that fic is essentially a love letter to @indiaalphawhiskey. It's just so good. If you’re going to read one fic off this list, read this one. 

2. Loving You's a Bloodsport (106k) by @rosesau

okay i’m pretty sure this one made me cry like four times, which is a feat for me because i’m not usually a crier. Its soulmates with a little bit of a twist, and the plot is so well developed. Harry and louis’ feelings and their progression are written so vividly and i wish i could forget that i read it so i could go and read it again for the first time. It's also got some enemies to lovers, which is my favorite trope, and all of the side characters are beautifully developed as well. Prince!Harry, soldier!Louis, angsty soulmates. What more could you want? Oh and if you’re not convinced enough, here is a quote that fucking follows me around because its so beautiful: “Love and hate are two sharp knives balanced on a very fine line and I’ve cut myself on both because of you.” (ohmygod)

3. Mine Would Be You (114k) by @crinkle-eyed-boo

okay this one is listed at number three but it really should be 1c lol. I started this one at 11 pm like an idiot, and i don’t think i slept that night at all. It's Exes to lovers, and it's so well written. It switches between the past and the present, it's  heartbreakingly beautiful, the breakup and resolution are both so realistically written as well, and there's a great ot5 plotline too that i really loved. This one was also an instant classic- i bookmarked it before i even finished reading it. It's also got beautiful art and Louis and Harry are both artists in NYC, which I'm a slut for. Please read this one, it's so good.

4. The Murmur of Yearning (93k) by @mediawhorefics (for some reason tumblr isn’t letting me tag them??) | mediawhore on ao3 

I just finished this one, and my goddddddd it's so good. I read it in a day, and it's essentially 100k. Which isn’t that unusual for me except I did skip a class to get through it (an exam prep class. Not my finest moment but I passed. so.) There are tons of original characters that draw you in, and the whole world that is created is so fascinating and detailed. There's also no homophobia, so if you like historical fics but get triggered by that kind of thing, this is for you! Also, if you’re worried about the non-con elements, I'm sure you could message the author but also feel free to check in with me! I’ll definitely be rereading it in the near future and am totally up for discussing and crying over this fic with anyone.

5. Remember Me Fondly by @bluejeanlouis | kiddle on ao3 

ahhhhhhh this one made me sob too! It's set in both the present and the past, and I fell in love with all of the characters. This one is also heartbreaking, but I promise there’s a happy ending. Also, they way this fic deals with the fame and the homophobia and tours that harry and louis went through -even if it isn’t actually canon and is set in the 90s- is so vividly painful and realistic. It's written half through a journalist’s eyes and half through harry and louis, yet the switch in pov is so seamless and fluid and adds so much to the piece. 11/10.

6. Nothing But You On My Mind (83k) by @absoloutenonsense | nonsensedarling on ao3

okay. I started this in the middle of the night, and told myself I'd read one chapter to see if I liked it and then I would go to sleep. I'm pretty sure I read like 6. It sucks you in right from the beginning, and there's such a well developed plot. And it's so unpredictable and all of the details are so nuanced and tiny and then you look back at everything after you’ve finished it and go oh. Ohhhhhh. This one is also enemies to lovers. Are we sensing a pattern here?

7. An Invincible Summer (44k) by @twopoppies | Brooklyn_Babylon on ao3 

so as you can see this one is only 45k but i just love it so much that i’m rec’ing in anyways. It’s such a gentle, exploratory piece of literal art, and I kind of want to stay in the world that was created forever. Its set in the 1940s on a farm and i know @twopoppies has said that it started off as an excuse for barn sex, but it such a vivid story and its heartbreaking and emotional and uplifting all at once and please please please go read this. The only critique I have of it is that it's only 40k.

8. Somewhere in Between Lightning (99k) by @nauticalleeds, @shiningdistraction, and jassy117 on ao3

So this one's exes-to-lovers as well, and it's written in such a realistic way. Also i’m in love with the concept of louis on love island, despite the fact that he said he hates it. There's a sauna scene that I still think about sometimes. It's got just the right amount of angst and fluff and pining and despite the fact that it's set on a show that is usually pretty dramatic and unrealistic, this is written in a really beautiful but pragmatic way. I love it. i’ve got it  downloaded on my phone so I can read little snippets of it sometimes if I have to wait somewhere.

9. You’ve Got My Devotion (Hate You Sometimes) (95k) by @harryrainbows | lucythegoosey on ao3 

god so this one incorporates some of Fine Line into it, and wouldn’t say it's a song fic so much as it is written as a canon compliant fic that ties harry’s songs into it and its done so fucking well oh my god. Harry and Louis are exes in this one too (lol i'm sorry) and the build up of them getting together and the pining and longing is written really well.

10. At Risk, I Fold (15k) by @bearmustard | clare328 on ao3 

so i know this one is only 15k, but I put this in the list anyways. It's canon compliant, and it does mention the stunts (as stunts), but don’t let that deter you. Harry and Louis are written almost exactly as i’ve imagined them, and this one is such a heartbreaking look into the resilience and love and bravery that they have. It made me cry despite the fact that it’s not really a glum fic. The only reason it is last on the list is because it's shorter and i was mostly intending this to be a long fic rec. The love that they have for each other really shines through in this one, and it’s super gentle and soft and sad and happy all at once and just please go read it.

And this is it: the final chapter! It’s been insane, but this is the only fanfiction I've ever finished before, and it wouldn’t have happened without all the support. Thank you so much!! I didn’t think anyone would read this, but seeing everyone’s reactions to each chapter has kept me going :D

I’m sorry for the essay, but I’m aware I didn’t post anything about this in the AIB tag. Yes, there will be a sequel!

I need to read the manga properly before writing it, so I don’t know when the sequel will start. But in the meantime, there’ll be a series of Chishiya one-shots of his perspective, and there’ll even be scenes that weren’t in this fic, plus an original game!

By the time Kuina found us again, it was already late afternoon, and even though our visas had extended by ten days after the Witch Hunt game, there was something about the setting of the sun that felt foreboding.

We lit up the furniture shop with candles and changed into the clean clothes we’d collected. Seeing Chishiya wearing ordinary clothes felt strange. Aside from when we’d crossed paths in the Tag game, the entire time I’d known him he’d been wearing swim shorts and flip flops.

Now, he emerged from the bathroom wearing grey sweatpants and a variegated blue cardigan that suited him perfectly. When his eyes flickered to mine, I realised I’d been staring, and distracted myself with preparing dinner instead. It wasn’t much, especially since all I had was canned goods and a camping stove, but the vegetable stew kept us warm while we curled up in our makeshift living room. As evening turned to night, however, it became obvious that something was missing.

There are no games.

Kuina chewed on her lip, looking out of the window. ‘What d’you think will happen when our visas run out?’

‘It probably has something to do with the Ten of Hearts,’ I told her. ‘Maybe there’s no need for games anymore, since we’ve got all the numbered cards.’

It didn’t bode well for us. If there were no games by the time our visas ran out, there was no chance of us getting out of the Borderlands. At least not alive.

As the night wore on, Kuina was the first to go upstairs. Covering her yawn with her hand, she waved goodnight and winked at me. I tried not to blush. Not that it made a difference, anyway. Chishiya was busying himself over a scrap of paper, and barely reacted when I smushed up by his side.

I frowned at the paper in his hand. ‘Isn’t that...’

‘Ah.’ He held it out so I could see it. ‘I took it from the tagger’s pocket.’ It was a drawing of a circle with squiggly lines, clearly a rushed sketch of something. In the middle of a line, the pen had stabbed a hole straight through.

‘What is it?’

‘Well, I have an idea,’ he said, but never elaborated.

Fighting the onset of sleep, I leaned my head against his shoulder, paying no mind to the way he tensed beneath me. The fabric of his cardigan was soft as down and made for a perfect pillow. ‘Aren’t you going to tell me?’

‘And if I don’t want to?’

I pushed my face into the fabric, pretending to settle in for the night. ‘Then I’ll just stay here and annoy you until your visa runs out.’

‘I have a feeling that won’t happen any time soon,’ he said, looking out the window.

And that was when I noticed it too. Midnight had passed by only a few minutes ago, yet there were no lasers. Did that mean the Borderlands were at a standstill? Were we stuck here permanently now? I wasn’t aware of how silent I had become, lost in my own thoughts, until Chishiya spoke up.

‘I believe it’s a map.’

My eyes slid to the drawing again. ‘And that hole in the paper, do you think that’s where the others are? The dealers, I mean.’

He shifted uncomfortably and I sat upright, conscious that I might have been unintentionally hurting or bothering him. Looking at the map properly, the lines could represent different interlocking pathways. If the marked place was a hideout of some kind, it couldn’t be in the open streets; there was too big a risk that a player might stumble upon it by accident.

So where...?

As soon as the idea came to mind, the words slipped out of my mouth. ‘The subway....’

He hummed in agreement. ‘I went to the nearest subway station this morning to check it against the real map. It’s a loose fit, but it works.’

I thought back to the second tagger – the crying woman – and how she’d been forced to participate in the game, donning an explosive collar. ‘Maybe if we find the place, we’ll get some answers.’

‘Probably,’ he said. ‘But I’m curious to see if anything changes within the next few days.’

‘Do you think we’ll hear something soon?’ I asked, yawning into my hand.

‘I believe we will.’ He gave me that same half-smile I had grown so used to. ‘But right now, I think you should go to sleep.’

Chishiya didn’t complain when I crawled into his bed. Like the night before, he kept his distance, but I could’ve sworn at times, when my sleeping became lighter throughout the night, I could feel fingers lightly touching my hair, only to pull back the moment I stirred. Over the next few days, it became the norm, and every night I would curl up on my side of the bed, slipping into calm dreams under the blue light of the window.

Despite the sunshine washing over the grey of the city, the stairs leading into Minami-Aoyama station descended into darkness. We’d checked and double-checked the drawing against the official subway map several times, but the idea of entering an abandoned station to uncover who knows what wasn’t inviting.

‘Are you sure this is it?’ Kuina asked for the third time.

I looked at the route map hanging over the station entrance, my eyes tracing the shape of the lines. ‘Positive.’

Folding her arms, Kuina went first. I waited for Chishiya to take a small torch from his pocket before following behind. The station was truly submerged in blackness, and if not for Chishiya’s torch, we would have easily become lost. He shone the beam at the paper in his hand, then held it up against each train line.

‘This way,’ he said, and walked towards the edge of the platform.

We hopped down onto the gravel below, using the metal tracks to guide us further into the tunnels. It was disconcerting to see the subway so empty, but with Kuina and Chishiya here, I felt safe somehow.

Several minutes in, Chishiya stopped abruptly, and I almost walked into him. If he reacted at all, I couldn’t see to tell. But he seemed more focused on something else, as he pointed the torch at a door that had been busted open.

‘That must be it.’ Kuina’s voice echoed.  

Without hesitation, Chishiya disappeared through the door, leaving Kuina and I in the darkness.

Chishiya?!

I panicked, arms waving as I tried to find something to hold onto. I heard Kuina hiss as we stumbled into each other and bumped elbows. Feeling around for the door frame, we managed to make our way inside, where Chishiya held his torch at us from further away.

‘Hey!’ Kuina snapped. ‘Don’t do that again! You’re the only one with a light here.’

‘Walk faster then,’ he said, waiting impatiently as we jogged over.

He shone the beam in the opposite direction, where it bounced off something. It was still too dark to tell just what, but as we walked forwards, everything became clearer. A structure lay ahead, with tunnels and walkways all leading into a giant room. Overhead, wires were strung across the ceiling, all feeding into the same place. We entered through one of the tunnels, and my heart jumped.

Televisions. They stared, black and empty, in rows and columns up the walls. But what was even more surprising was the setup right in front of us. It was an office, with papers, pen pots and coffee-stained mugs strewn about on desks. It would have looked like any other workplace, if not for the bodies draped in chairs and across the floor.

‘What... is this?’ I crouched to inspect the body of a man in a suit. Judging from its state, he had only died recently, but more importantly, there was a singed hole running through his head. He had been killed by a laser. ‘They’re not the ones in charge of the games.’

Chishiya closely inspected a desk. ‘Evidently not,’ he said, picking up a folded piece of paper and passing it to me. It was filled with numbers, some ticked off. Whoever it had belonged to was keeping track of their visa.

They’re playing games too, I thought. Or at least, they were.

‘So, these guys were the dealers.’ Kuina gingerly held up a sheet of paper with scribbles all over it. Upon closer inspection, they appeared to be odds. ‘They were betting on us,’ she said.  

A shiver ran along my skin. Of course, they had been watching us this whole time, that was expected. But to place bets on our survival was a whole other story. If the dealers were playing too, there must’ve been a separate system for them to extend their days. Perhaps how many people survived each game had some kind of impact on their visas.

A finger lightly brushed the back of my arm and Chishiya appeared beside me. ‘Momoka’s friend,’ I said, ‘she died right after she told everyone she was a dealer. And the taggers died because we won. I have a feeling their visas depended on whether or not we cleared each game... or maybe how many people didn’t make it.’

From his expression, I knew he had been thinking the same thing. ‘It doesn’t explain why they’re all dead now.’

I glanced around at the stiffened bodies slumped around us. ‘Actually, I have a bad feeling about that too.’

At that moment, a tap of footsteps echoed from the entrance. Chishiya instantly turned off his torch and tugged me into one of the tunnels. Kuina joined us and we hid, waiting. The footsteps grew louder, closer, and two torchlights waved through the darkness. I kept my eyes trained on the tunnel opposite as the footsteps paused.

‘Where is this place?’  

‘Who knows?’

With a sigh, I relaxed instantly.

Those two.

It had only been a few days since I had made peace with Arisu and Usagi, but I was glad to see them again. Arisu was cleaned up, his wounds well on the way to healing, while Usagi stared in amazement at the television screens around us.

Chishiya grazed past me as he moved out from under the shadows. ‘You actually found this place,’ he said. ‘As expected from someone I have high hopes for.’  

‘We meet again,’ Kuina said, walking around the desks to lean against the wall.

Arisu and Usagi’s eyes scanned the two of them before stopping at me. They looked visibly confused, probably wondering what I was doing with them after I’d told them I wasn’t involved in Chishiya’s setup. In an attempt at diffusing the awkwardness, I smiled and waved.

‘You guys,’ Usagi whispered. Her voice bordered on distrust, not that anyone could blame her.

I couldn’t tell whether Chishiya was trying to make things better or worse when he held up the full deck of cards and smiled. ‘Thanks to you guys, I have all the playing cards with me,’ he said. ‘Thank you.’

Arisu only looked at him cynically. ‘How did you discover this place?’

Chishiya rooted in his pocket and pulled out the drawing. ‘It took me some time to realise this is actually a map. The route map of the subway.’ He sauntered around the desks. ‘As for what happens when we collect the cards... I thought I would know the answer if I came here.’ His eyes jumped to mine. ‘But there’s something else we discovered instead.’

‘They’re not the gamemasters,’ Arisu said, eyes fixed on the bodies around us.

I stepped over a hand strewn across the floor. ‘カードを集めたので、殺された.’ Because we collected the cards, they were all killed. I struggled for a moment, trying to think of the right words. ‘There must be someone above them.’

Chishiya translated, and Usagi turned to me with worry. ‘But who?’

‘Who knows?’ Chishiya shrugged. ‘They might be aliens... or even God.’

The idea didn’t sound as strange as it should have done. We were in a world where lasers appeared from the sky, and death games were the norm. Even when I first arrived here, I’d wondered whether this was a form of judgement. Nothing was out of the question anymore.

Suddenly, the screens burst into life and white light flooded the room. I jumped, flocking to Chishiya and Kuina’s side.

Have we been caught?

Music reverberated all around us, and the screens displayed all four card suits, along with a message I couldn’t read. It didn’t matter though, as the voice that rang through the speakers was one I remembered well. My stomach dropped.

‘Congratulations to all players!’

The screens blurred until Mira’s wild eyes and subdued smile came into focus. It was now obvious why the Ten of Hearts had taken place at the Beach at the very moment things had fallen apart.

She must’ve been feeding information back, I thought. But back to where?

‘How interesting,’ Chishiya said. Seeking stability, I slipped a hand into his pocket. There was a slight hesitation before his fingers laced around mine.

Mira’s voice shook with a quiet excitement. ‘With the exception of the face cards, you’ve all cleared the numbered games and emerged as victors. It’s a sweet victory, gained by sacrificing so many lives.’ Her expression turned wistful as she stood. ‘I wonder, how many of your comrades have died. Try remembering those who were shot dead with guns.’

A single screen switched to show footage from a miscellaneous game. A group were stood, clutching their guns as they inspected the scatter of bodies across the ground.

They’ve been recording us.

‘And that girl you burned alive.’

A second display opened up, revealing several players watching on as a girl, engulfed in flames, struggled and clawed at her skin and clothes. I held my breath, Niragi’s animalistic cries ringing through my memory.

‘Those struck by lasers, and those that drowned.’

My eyes widened, and I gripped Chishiya’s hand as the inside of the furniture store appeared on-screen. The fractured image of myself flinched, quivering with shock, as the first man and Green Shirt leapt from their seats, only to crumple to the ground, lasers piercing them where they stood.

Chishiya’s fingers squeezed mine, and I gasped, blinking away the image. He must’ve seen it too.

‘Those who’s heads were blown off,’ Mira continued, dreamily. ‘Those comrades of yours, the despair you’ve felt so far, and those dying moments you’ll never forget.’

The screen changed once more, and from the corner of my eye, Arisu winced. Following his gaze, I recognized his partner from the Tag game, his neck exploding around a collar.

I’m so sorry....

Meanwhile, Mira’s expression shifted into pure, childlike delight. ‘Everyone... I’m so touched!’ She held her hand over her heart. ‘All of you players, we’d like to give you a present.’

We?

Chishiya tensed slightly. He had noticed it too. If Mira wasn’t the only gamemaster, just who were the others?

Although Mira couldn’t hear us, Kuina mumbled, ‘Are you returning us to the real world?’

It seemed too good to be true, and sure enough, it was. Mira clapped her hands together excitedly. ‘There will be new games! Let’s play more games together and fight for the face cards this time!’

Aside from Chishiya, everyone sank with disappointment and fear. Just how much more would we have to deal with before we could go home? If we were competing for the face cards, did that mean there were only twelve more games in total, or would there be repeat cards like there were for the numbered ones?

Kuina groaned. ‘New games? You’re kidding.’

‘I don’t dislike the idea,’ Chishiya murmured.

I looked at him, curious. ‘What do you mean?’

His expression was guarded, but before he could reply, Mira’s voice cut in again. ‘The next stage will commence tomorrow at noon. Everyone, let’s have fun together!’

All at once, the screens shut down, leaving us all in the darkness once more. Everything was quiet as we came to terms with what had just happened. It was Arisu who first suggested that we get out of here. Him and Usagi disappeared back through the tunnel, and with one glance at Chishiya and I, Kuina followed.

My fingers were still interlaced with his, hidden within the warmth of his pocket. He was watching me, waiting.

‘These games,’ I said. ‘They’re going to be harder than the others.’

He was silent for a moment. ‘Probably.’

‘About what you said before...’ I began. ‘Do you remember that time on the rooftop of the Beach, when I asked you if you were okay, and you told me it shouldn’t matter to me.’

I could see him thinking back. ‘I remember.’

‘What I said then still stands. You might not care about your own life, and I can’t stop you from taking part in these new games.’ I bit my lip, unable to face him as my eyes began tearing up. ‘Perhaps this is selfish of me, but you need to survive. And if you can’t do it for yourself, then....’

He sighed. ‘You cry too much.’ When I looked up, his lips were curled into that same, familiar smile, only this time, there was nothing cruel or condescending there. ‘We should find the others.’

Wiping my eyes with the edge of my sleeve, I finally let go of his hand, following him back out and through the tunnels. As we climbed the steps of the station, emerging into daylight, a series of loud bangs resounded throughout the city. The others were peering up at the skyscrapers towering over us, and the fireworks that burst like flowers against the sunlight.

‘Let’s make a new deal,’ Chishiya said, idly watching the display. ‘I’ll survive, if you return the favour.’

I looked to him, admiring the way his hair shifted in the breeze, and how the reflection of the fireworks danced in his dark eyes.

Let’s go home together.

‘It’s a deal.’

What’s the funniest comment someone has left on a fic of yours?

All I can think of is the one about Andrés having a big d*ck, I don't even remember which fic it was for, maybe When We Collide? Anyway, I mentioned something about Andrés not being small down there, and apparently, another writer did the same recently, and one of my precious readers said we started a "trend" <3

What is one fic idea that you loved at first but then scrapped?

I once had this WIP with the working title Asshole Andrés, and I think it's the only fic I ever really scrapped. The idea was Andrés being all touchy around Martín when he got drunk and pretending nothing happened when he was sober. The scenes in my head (and my Docs) were super hot, but the idea of Andrés doing that to Martín just- didn't fit. I did post one of the chapters as a one-shot.

(I still love the idea I had for the end of that fic: Martín getting drunk with some of the other gang members, suddenly going really quiet, just staring out at the sea. Someone calls Andrés and asks him to come get Martín because something's clearly wrong with him - and Andrés has this whole realization that shit, he might have broken him. Anyway, it's more of a vibe, but yeah.)

Have you ever made yourself cry writing a fic?

Yes (of course, haha, you know I'm emotional). I cried when I wrote the ending of If you can't fix it, you gotta stand it (my Brokeback fic). And I'm going to cry again soon when I finish one of my WIP's. I'm already crying just thinking about it.

What is the fic you’re most proud of?

I have a few fics I'm proud of having posted because I decided to stop worrying about what people were thinking (my kink fic, just to mention one). But otherwise, I'm really fucking proud of my newly posted How I wonder what you are - I think it's a well-written fic, it made me feel a lot of stuff, and also because it's been in my Google Docs since February where I abandoned it, then I rewrote it during the summer and finally posted it.

What is your fave fic from another writer?

This isn't a fair question...

I'm not going to answer that, because there are so many great fics out there - some I love because of the tension, some made me emotional, some were just super hot, and it's impossible to remember all of them.

But I'll mention two fics that hold a very special place in my heart.

Let's Make Art by @dormarunt - I can't explain why, it's super hot, obviously, but there's something else to it. I was literally obsessed, and it's the fic that finally made me start talking to Dee <3 My long, annoying comments on that fic led to my very first Berlermo friendship.

Just Pee by @the--sound--of--rain - because she's fucking brave for even posting it, and it's like nothing I've ever read in this fandom. It made me super emotional. Plus she inspired me to stop worrying and just write what I want to write.

What is the WIP that you are most excited about?

I'm super excited about my Martín/OC fic - because I made an OC, I love him, and I had no idea I was even able to do that? I'll be heartbroken when it ends, I'm not at all ready to let go of my boy.

Right now I'm excited about my Secret Santa fic because I got an interesting prompt, I've let it develop inside my head since November 23 and when I finally sat down and started writing it yesterday, I poured out 4,000 words just like that. I love writing it, and hope the person I'm writing for will love reading it.

Other than that, I've started having feelings about my Martín & Marseille fic again after watching the last part of La Casa de Papel, so maybe that will be my next project.

Chapter 137, “Titans”, was one of the most polarizing chapters in recent memory, provoking strong reactions both positive and negative.  When we compiled the results, the chapter averaged 4.09 on a 1-5 scale, which places it 37th out of the 47 chapters we’ve ranked. No matter how you view it, it’s still a solid rating.

While the pacing was somewhat spotty, overall, the chapter was absolutely fantastic and very fulfilling and answered a lot of the things I had wanted answered.

Zeke‘s reflection and death are my favorite panels in the manga. It lives rent free in my mind. This is my favorite chapter of the manga so far.

I loved seeing Levi take a sort of protective, fatherly role when helping Gabi take out the Okapi Titan. And seeing him finally fulfill his promise and vow to Erwin is refreshing and makes me feel happy.

I loved the conversation between Zeke and Armin. Zeke was always nihilistic, he saw life as dry and meaningless. Armin is on the opposite - he found the meaning of life in the little happy moments. He taught Zeke that life isn't only about multiplication , but about higher, happier and more spiritual things, like love, having fun or watching sunsets and sunrises. I'm glad that Zeke found his own meaning of life and understood that there was nothing wrong about him being born on this world and he would do it once again, if he had a chance. We can add their conversation to the list of the best conversations in the manga.

Looking back at that old sketch, it really does feel like the end of an era. 44.6% of respondents thought Zeke’s end was a good and poetic way to go out. 29% were sad to see him go but were glad he had some agency - even throwing out a last bit of sass at Levi! 12.4% didn’t like how it happened as it was somewhat sudden and maybe not as epic as it could’ve been. 7.6% question if it’s really the end for Zeke quite yet, and 6.4% have no strong opinions about it.

A fitting end for a great character

I think his ending was very poetic but could have been executed much better.

In terms of writing, he was the third best character in the post-time skip section of the story. He deserved a better ending.

10/10 character, one of my all time favourites. In theory, I like the idea of him sacrificing himself to stop Eren, but with the build up he had (mainly the way Grisha said he would save everyone) it was an extremely disappointing death.

I love him and via development. The thing is that the way he was killed was rushed as fuck and kinda killed my enjoyment of his last moments. If worked better, pretty sure I would have cried.

I really liked the way Zeke's character arc ended, and he remains one of my favorite characters in the series.

I was underwhelmed...I hoped to get much more out of him than what we did. But I guess this is expected when you introduce like 10 new characters and try to cram their entire arcs in less than 30 chapters at the expense of the original protagonists' (I'm not salty...I swear...).

I've always found him interesting. I love how his role in the story evolved as time went on. One of the best characters in Attack on Titan.

I mean, when they released his flashbacks as a child, I already started sympathising with him. Also his paths adventure with Eren. But this chapter really solidified it for me. The guy was just a sad boy who wanted love and thought he was doing the right thing.

He was an "end justify the means " person. I don't like him still.

I mean... it was nice to see him realise that he wouldn't mind being born again, but I was still a bit miffed by the fact that he still believed that his euthanasia plan was the way to go (it sort of diluted the impact of the conversation between him and Armin). I've always enjoyed Zeke's character. Ever since picking up the manga after Season 1 what feels like an eternity ago and he's one of my favorite characters. That being said... This chapter made me dislike him a bit.

I loved Zekes character. Even as he attacked Paradis Island you could see his methodical viewpoint on their roles in all of this. He always was working the end game and their ability to not be used as pawns. We may not have always agreed with his path and believe me, there were moments I hated him. So many, but he also knew his moment in this time and what his role was. His death was a righteous one and I loved that Levi was able to fulfill his promise.

I thought his character was probably one of the best in the story, with a very well defined beliefs/viewpoint and a bunch of interesting characterwork.

I'm glad he got to understand that the world is beautiful before dying, I was angry because of all the things he did but chapter by chapter I came to realise  how sad his life was, he only had little moments to be happy and be a normal kid/person, I'm not justifying his actions but I'm not judging him either.

I love Zeke as a character. He is well written on his own and also has a drastic effect on a lot of characters. I think that Zeke realizing that there are other ways to look at life and his way was not the most convenient one makes the viewer realize that no one is wrong and no one is right. I think his death was pleasing enough and he look liked he didn't have major regrets in life, other than the one he discussed with Armin.

What he went through as a child and a teenager creates a soft spot for him; but doesn't justify his killings and the euthanasia plan. I liked Zeke's detached approach on humanity, as I completely relate with his philosophy during the conversation with Armin. Even though at first I was repulsed by his sociopathic tendencies (rip Mike) his character definitely stood out. Everything about him felt rational and original, and I still believe his plan was the most logical one. Great character.

I like Zeke, he was represented as a villain but like all the characters, he's the hero of his own story. He was strong, smart, and tried to stop massive killings. I loved his relationship with Levi too (even though he almost killed him) and I loved Levi's expression when he finally killed him. I expected him to die fighting, but I like how he went down.

I've got mixed feelings towards Zeke. I really hated him at first for the way he killed Mike - which was absolutely horrible. Then for the scouts and Erwin. My thoughts are neutral. I think he had no choice in his life- he too was enslaved. Although, it would have been better to see more of his relationship with Tom Ksaver. That seems to be who he really is, and who he really believes himself to be.

Zeke character is seriously much more deeper than we think he is. Not trying to write an essay here, I'll just say that Armin, Eren, Levi, etc have suffered with the loss of their loved ones. Zeke never even had the chance to be loved.

I still would like to see Paths destroyed in the end, though, otherwise they'll be stuck there forever and never be able to move on.

i love the idea of zeke becoming a "optimistic nihilist" but didn't at all like how rushed it was executed.

I mean, it sure could've been explored more, but we have to take into account that Zeke had been in paths for a long time (maybe for what it felt like millions of years) and by that point he felt hopeless; his dream was no longer going to become a reality, he couldn't change anything and was trapped there forever, then Armin came and gave him a different perspective, he listened and found something of value in it while at the same time not completly discarding Xaver's ideology. This change is fine in principle. It's change from his idea of euthanasia and "better not be born" toward "eventhough life is suffering too, it's worth living". But it was rushed, it would have been more believable if the idea germinated in his mind. So between the Yes and No answer.

What change of heart, he was reminded from what he found happiness in life which he was enjoying subconscioulsy before aka playing catch. An activity he started enjoying as a kid. It was a game, something kids enjoy not a heavy burden of "saving everyone" as Grisha implanted onto him.

Zeke had this change coming - it was built up throughout the Paths chapters. The primary boogeyman figure of his life turned out to be a good man, and he apologised, turning his entire worldview upside down (not counting the whole "Stand, dad" thing) He had an eternity in Paths to process the events of ch120-122 (and maybe his entire life before that) multiple times over. Armin found him at his most vulnerable, betrayed and alone once more. Their debate back and forth, all done with mutual respect, was amazingly written. Armin showed him the way, gave him that one final nudge he needed in the right direction. It's perfectly believable, and fitting.

Now this moment was a little controversial. 42.5% thought it was awesome seeing our old friends take control of their titans to save their loved ones. 29.9% liked what the scene was going for but thought it needed more setup or foreshadowing. 18.9% were not happy at all to see such a shonen scene in this manga. This chapter continued to showcase some more of the past Titan Shifters throughout the ages. What was most interesting of the past Titan Shifters that appeared in this chapter to fight the past alliance members was that some of the same Titan Shifters that appeared during Ymir's flashback in Chapter 122 can be seen fighting the Alliance in this chapter.

I thought it was interesting to finally have Freckled Ymir's description of being a mindless titan get touched upon again. She said that it was like a never ending nightmare. All the shifters Ymir and Eren summoned were asleep in that nightmare, until Zeke and Armin were able to wake them up, if only for a brief amount of time. There was a reason we saw Bertolt crying after Armin ate him. And we were only reminded again in Chapter 135 when Armin saw Bertolt crying again. I don't think these shifters gaining some of there consciousness back is an ass pull at all. We were given some bread crumbs to believe that at least dead shifters exist in some way in Paths after death.

The shifter crew that appeared to join the alliance created some confusion among readers. Why, for instance  was Kruger there but not Frieda? Where was Lara Tybur? What was the deciding factor in whether or not a shifter returned for the battle? The most popular in world explanation was that  “Zeke could only awaken those he’d met before” (33.6%). It very  narrowly edged out the more practical reason “It’s so we only see the shifters the audience is familiar with” (32.1%). 16.9% believed the Founding and Warhammer couldn’t be used because those are Eren’s titans. On Levi killing Zeke, I feel like that's narratively sloppy and only serves as some shitty ass way to make Levi relevant, since there isn't really much to his character anymore. I'm still hoping that they can have a happy ending. The deserves it after all the fights.

I've heard so many different theories on how this series could end and now that we are on the final chapters almost nothing has gone with my expectations. I was blown out of the water with how this final fight went. With expectations for this series so high its impossible for it to satisfy everyone. But I'm really happy with how everything turned out. A lot of plot threads are being closed up in satisfying ways and I'm content with the character development everyone is getting.

There are a few things I've been disappointed about, like the lack of Eren's point of view. But I'll hold off judgment till the series ends. I think i'll enjoy rereading this section of the story once it's finished. I caught up with the manga around 117 and waiting monthly for these chapters was made everything seem longer that it probably actually was. Overall I'm happy with how everything went.

Zeke sort of reminds me of Johan from monster. both had a messed up asf childhood and life in general. both didn't find pleasures in life at all, like simple pleasures like tea or coffee to life and people. Because they knew for themselves life had no meaning. therefore both of them could do basically whatever they wanted sorta bc life had no meaning to them and was destined to go extinct if that makes sense. To them, their actions were justified bc they had no meaning in life. But armin, this hope in the world, also knew the world was cruel. however he chose to find pleasures in it rather than distrusting it all together. He found hope in his friends and reading and more, even if it meant getting hurt by people. I believe armin will talk. This chapter messed me up man. Zeke used to be my least favorite character cause he was weird but now he's one of my favs. His death was def one of the hardest for me. ugh what a beautiful chapter. I wish they all found meaning in life before.

Gabi has lots of potential, and it was smart to have her as a character study. I mean, not only do we get the perspective of a brainwashed child of war, but through her, it was shown that it's possible to end all conflicts through forgiveness. She is also a replacement for sasha (sharpshooter). Levi is no shooter, but I hope he takes Gabi, and/or the other war kiddies, under his wing. I hope Levi could find another purpose, and I'm imagining being a trainer/teacher best suites him. He cares a lot and gives good guidance with his experience and wisened words…

Honestly, I was always kinda neutral towards Zeke. Never really loved him, never really hated him. Hated what he did to the Scouts and subsequently to Erwin, but that hate really didn't last long. He was just kinda...there for me. He was an interesting character, and brought a lot to the series, but I guess it wasn't until the chapter with him and Eren as they went through his and their father's memories (the BIG chapter) that I started to warm up (?) to him. I don't know, it's hard to explain how I really felt about him overall. I will admit though, that his death, although very sudden with Levi coming out of nowhere lol, was impactful and I think a really poetic end for him. Him finally realizing the true meaning of living, seeing the beauty of their cruel world at the very end, and helping to bring an end to the Rumbling, left a very good impression on me. So, in the end...I liked Zeke. He was a good character.

Zeke and Armin's talk is... decent, I guess. Like everything in the final arc, it suffered from bizarre pacing issues, so while the core of the talk is decent, we essentially have Armin changing Zeke's entire worldview with 1 small speech. Then SUDDENLY DEAD PEOPLE COME BACK TO LIFE LEVI BEHEADS REINER HELOS ARMIN NUKE RUMBLING IS STOPPED... why the hell did we get two fanservice battle chapters just that all this gets stuffed into one?

I want Levi alive. So he can open his dream tea shop. I want him happy

I was happy to see Ksaver's titan, Armin and Zeke's talk moved me, and I'll admit I never thought the spine creature was sentient until this chapter. I'm sad the series is ending. What do I have left to look forward to each month?

Worst chapter of the entire series. If eren was actually defeated, and being defeated wasn't his intention, this chapter ruined the series and his character.

I sympathize for baby Zeke's struggles and the trauma he had to experience but honestly he ain't special in this manga, everyone has a sad fucking backstory. He was a pathetic little sadist, always puffed up about how Clever™ he was for double-crossing people and yet never seeing the obvious betrayal coming from Eren. I know the justification for that is "aw he cared for his baby brother uwu" but that was what made him so pathetic - for all his posturing about being smart and pragmatic for the Greater Good (which was his justification for the euthanasia plan) he was just as emotional and fallible as all the people he looked down on. His lack of self-awareness and depth of selfishness disgusts me. This ending was too good for him. He died as a martyr and he deserved much, much less. Tbf, for baby Zeke's sake, I am glad he got to see some happy memories of Xaver towards the end, but I thought his death was tasteless and a slap in the face of all the people he murdered before. (*ahem* Mike)

Suddenly grew a soft spot for zeke.

Zeke is honestly such a masterclass in character writing and it is so impressive that Isayama has written so many amazing characters. I started out really hating Zeke for what he did to Miche, and that impression carried for a long, long time, even until it was revealed that he had his own agenda, that he might be playing the long game helping Eldians, I didn't believe it because of what he did to Miche. In fact, it was Eren's cooperation with Zeke that made me turn on Eren post-timeskip. When we got that hint of Zeke backstory, I was actually kind of miffed. Like no way, Isayama, you're not going to make me sympathize with Zeke. Not happening. Yet, after I read the chapter, my thoughts were Grisha is a shit dad. Absolute shit dad. Anyway, I was still glad Eren bested Zeke in Paths, though once the Rumbling activated, I realized that I agreed with Zeke's plan better. So he's really become an interesting character for me, and I was even really excited to see him return at the end of last chapter. I still don't like him very much, but he is incredibly compelling and interesting, and I'm definitely a bit more forgiving of his earlier actions. Miche's death still sucked though.

Zeke is one of the most well written character of all time

Zeke is so fucked up, but he's hilarious and extremely meme-able. He's a tragic, well-written character who committed monstrous acts. If he didn't die here, he should have been locked up for the rest of his life.

Zeke is such a underrated but sad character. He truly taught his plan was the best Eldians. He was brain wash from his own parents and send them into pure titans, while his half brother had a normal childhood. In the end, he sacrificed himself to defeat Eren.

Zeke is super smart and very strong man ; he was defending his own past and his own sadness ; but he lost when he tried to follow his wrong feeling of sympathy toward eren ; he was thinking that he is a victim either from their father; this makes him lost everything he lived for until this moment..

Zeke is very great and one of the most important character to the story, his development also very good, i'll miss him

Zeke jeager was of course the first of the two jeager brothers and surprisingly the first son of Grisha I think as Hajime Isayama presented him it was awesome but I still not sure about his death is he really dead or is there any twist left in the last two chapters but still 🤞🤞 let’s see what is left in the series.

Zeke just wanted the eldians to be free but the way he wanted to make them free was wrong. That’s why I didn’t like him that much. But I think right now I’m sad that he had to die.

Zeke made many decisions in order to achieve his goal of ending the painful cycle of Eldian life, and because of that I feel sorry for him. I feel sad that he felt that he needed to make those decisions, and I’m glad that he was able to finally see the beauty in life at the end.

Zeke's a very interesting character to me. I love the irony of Grisha teaching him how cruel the world is in the hopes that it would radicalize him, only for it to make him wish he was never born. The guy never got the chance to just be a regular kid, except for when he was with Tom Ksaver. Tom acted like a parent should to a child, and as such Zeke ended up following through on Tom's vision rather than Grisha's. He was supposed to save the Eldian people, but came to the conclusion that it would be better if they were wiped out. I'm glad his past was brought up again in 137 where Zeke was contrasted with Armin. Zeke was born into a role with high expectations, compared to Armin who earned his expectations through repeated successes. Armin was able to grow up as the regular kid that Zeke wishes he was. His past traumas also lead him to project his own insecurities, which we can say by his assumption that all Eldians are born to suffer, and in thinking that Eren was brainwashed by Grisha, both of which aren't necessarily true. Overall I'd say Zeke is one of my favorite characters in the series, and I'm just scratching the surface of why I like him so much.

Zeke was used by others in some way, over his entire life. The restorationists goals. Kusaver using him to ease his own guilt. Marley’s military. Eren as well. I can’t help but wonder how he could have turned out if anyone had sincerely given a fuck about his own happiness.

Hate that Historia is continuing to be ignored.

I hope this isn't a set up for talk-no-jutsu. One thing that set SnK apart from other fantasy/supernatural shonens was the least use of talk-no-jutsu (it was there way early in the manga and anime but still it was least). Overall, I guess when more information/clarification could've been given, we got more talk and a dissatisfying death, I expected more.

I hoped Armin would have escaped PATHS using a big brain plan

I hoped Mikasa would cut Eren out and feed him to Gabi

it is mostly about zeke and armin but the other characters were also amazing, it is sad to see levi killing zeke with that expression, I'm not sure why but he is like anger to sad. anD MY ARUANI HEART OMGG, ISAYAMA DON'T KILL THEM PLS, JUST ONE COUPLE PLS T_T and additional, we are really not sure where's eren, is he really that head? what might happen next like will he continues the rumbling? who's the father of historia's baby? I hope it will be cleared in the next chapters, Im exciteddd!!

It left a permanent stain on the name of the series, even if the ending is godlike or even if eren wins how the fuck are you going to explain this bullshit that makes zero sense and gives me vibes of a fanfic writer making it?

It makes me question "what will the alliance do next? Is Eren still alive? What happens to Historia?" Next chapter should answer all of that.

It ould have been longer to flesh out each scenario and make it more believable, Zeke's change would be better if a few pages more was used to add more detail to his change. The fight scene should be fine as it is. As for the death of Zeke it needs to be longer, it would have made the audience much more sattisfies, his death is a turning point and it could have played out better if Isayama paid more attention to it. But overall I enjoyed it.

It was all just so rushed and convenient- levi killing zeke like it's nbd, zeke being dead completely stopping their problem, all these random dead people coming back to life it's like - what is this? why rush things this much in the last 3 chapters?  i'm hoping isayama has something up his sleeve but the power of friendship defeating eren's still as of yet unexplained character change has left me super disappointed.

It was amazing as always and still leave me confused on certain parts but that's okay i will understand everything after it ends

It was an alright chapter, about what I really expected, as much as I'd like to I never thought Eren would win and the chapter ended the way I thought it would. With so much negativity surrounding this chapter hopefully the next chapter and the finale will ease people's mind, some people just need to remember this is a Shonen not a Seinen of course the alliance were gonna win.

It was good definitely unexpected. If next chapter we don't see eren's POV than chapter 137 is bad.

It was good. Had some great moments like Reiner vs the spine creature and Levi fulfilling his promise. Zeke’s ending was really good too. But feel like a lot of potentially pivotal stuff happened with not the best delivery of explaining how/why. This may be revealed more in the final two chapters though so I won’t judge

It was good. The way we got emotions and fight scenes all in one chapter is another peak fiction writing skill from Isayama. As a lot of people think tho, some things shown in the chapter were confusing and kinda out of context, but I guess we'll gonna have all the answers in the last 2 chapters. Ngl, there was some obvious plot armor there in the Alliance side but I think Isayama already gave us enough suffering to ask for more deaths (man, just the thought of how EMA might end after this is more than enough). The ending will definitely define if AOT will go down at the best manga/anime of all time.

We surprisingly DIDN'T find out about the outcome of the standoff at fort Salta; last month I was sure leaving it as a cliffhanger was a waste of time since it was obvious that they were going to cooperate and aid the Alliance, but now that the Rumbling has been stopped, Maybe the twist next chapter is that the warriors arrive to see their loved ones dead/dying at Marleyan hands?

We're just rehashing the same lessons of previous arcs and we're just supposed to have conveniently forgotten them...both the feeling of powerlessness/futility of living and the message of "true freedom is..." were already covered by Eren himself back in Uprising and then in his convo with Shadis about what Carla wanted for him. Yams are you telling me he didn't learn a thing and we gotta see other people come to the same conclusions? Ok..........

Were in the Endgame now. Eren's seeming death is used to subvert expectations and is from the POV of Armin. He said goodbye to Eren expecting for him to die from the explosion, e does not say it as fact.

What a stupid chapter for my birthday.

While answering a couple questions, this chapter also made me realize that I didn't understand shit :) Maybe once the manga has ended and all my questions are answered, I will finally succeed in understanding this masterpiece.

I'm honestly shocked. I mean, every chapter got me shocked, but DAMN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S GONNA COME TO AN END SOON WAAAAAAAAAAAH
