Micro-Trends to Watch: The Latest Fashion Fads in the World of High-End Jewelry
Jewelry trends come and go, but in the high-end world, the details make all the difference. While classic pieces will never go out of style, micro-trends are introducing new layers of creativity and individuality to luxury accessories.
The latest trends in fine jewelry are steering away from conventional norms, giving rise to fresh, innovative styles that cater to the modern-day fashionista.
From bold, eye-catching designs to subtle, meaningful pieces, the world of luxury jewelry is embracing a new era. Let us take a closer look at the micro-trends that are reshaping the jewelry landscape, ensuring that your collection stays ahead of the curve.
Personalized Monogram Jewelry
Personalization is no longer just about engraving a name or date; it is about making a statement. Monogram jewelry, especially in the form of diamond initials or custom-designed pendants, is having a moment.
From necklaces that feature delicate letters encrusted with diamonds to bold initial rings, this trend allows wearers to showcase their individuality in a refined and luxurious way. It is the perfect blend of classic elegance and modern customization.
This micro-trend is especially popular for gifting, whether it is to mark an anniversary, the birth of a child, or just to celebrate one’s identity.
Sig Ward Jewelry offers customizable options, where clients can work with skilled artisans to create one-of-a-kind jewelry that reflects their style, initials, or even the birthstones of loved ones. Check out Kylie Richards donning the gorgeous monogram necklace while filming RHOBH season 14.

Gypsy-Style Rings
Speaking of vintage, gypsy-style rings have gained a loyal following in the luxury jewelry space. These rings, often featuring a bold center stone surrounded by smaller diamonds, are known for their bohemian flair.
With roots in Victorian-era jewelry, gypsy rings are now being reinterpreted with modern elements like colored gemstones and unconventional settings.
At Sig Ward Jewelry, the exquisite collection of gypsy-style rings offers a nod to the past while embracing contemporary design. Whether you are looking for a gold diamond gypsy ring or a unique, bohemian-inspired band, these rings provide an elegant balance between vintage charm and modern sophistication.
Rainbow Gemstones
Gone are the days of sticking to just one gemstone. Rainbow jewelry, featuring a mix of vibrant, multicolored stones, has become a playful micro-trend in high-end jewelry.
Designers are embracing a kaleidoscope of colors in their creations, offering rings, bracelets, and necklaces adorned with sapphires, emeralds, rubies, amethysts, and more—all in one stunning piece.
Rainbow gemstones bring a sense of fun and whimsy to luxury jewelry, making them perfect for adding a pop of color to any outfit. Whether you are wearing a rainbow gemstone bracelet or a multi-colored cocktail ring, this trend adds a joyful, eye-catching element to any jewelry collection.
Convertible Jewelry
Practicality meets luxury with the rise of convertible jewelry—pieces that can be worn in multiple ways. Whether it is a necklace that can transform into a bracelet or earrings that can be worn as studs or drops, this trend is all about versatility.
Convertible pieces allow you to get the most out of your high-end investment, giving you the flexibility to adapt your jewelry to different outfits and occasions. Not only does this micro-trend offer a fresh approach to wearing jewelry, but it also adds a modern twist to classic designs.
Vintage-Inspired Designs
The love for all things vintage continues to influence the world of high-end jewelry. Designers are taking inspiration from Art Deco, Victorian, and mid-century modern styles to create pieces that have a nostalgic yet timeless appeal.
Vintage necklaces, cocktail rings, and bracelets adorned with diamonds, sapphires, and intricate filigree work are all making a comeback. This micro-trend appeals to those who appreciate the craftsmanship and elegance of bygone eras, while also offering a sense of rarity and uniqueness to their jewelry collection.
Chunky Chains
While delicate jewelry will always have its place, chunky chains have become a dominant force in high-end jewelry this season. These bold pieces, often made from solid gold or platinum, are perfect for making a statement.
Whether worn as a stand-alone necklace or layered with more delicate pieces, chunky chains are the epitome of modern luxury. Their versatility allows them to be dressed up for a formal event or paired with casual attire for an effortlessly chic look.
Minimalist Layering
For those who prefer a more understated look, minimalist layering is a micro-trend that is steadily gaining momentum. The key to this trend is delicate, fine jewelry that can be worn in multiple layers to create a subtle yet chic effect. Think dainty gold bracelets stacked together, or slim diamond tennis necklace worn with chic pendants that bring good luck.
Minimalist layering allows for versatility and personalization, as you can mix and match pieces to suit your style. Sig Ward Jewelry offers a variety of layering pieces, from simple diamond pendants to elegant chain necklaces, so you can curate your own collection of luxe, minimalist jewelry.

Ma'am, I need more of Dan/Wraith in Arkham 😭 and maybe him managing to get out and meeting Dick again. Pretty please with strawberry cream on top 🥹🥹
(I’m lowkey surprised by how many people like this AU XD It got rather long lmao)
Part 1, part 2
Selina stared at the man that was sitting in her living room alongside her best friends. Harley was happily chattering his ear off, with Ivy interjecting now and then. The man, Wraith, patiently listened to Harley’s ranting, with only a little objecting whenever she went off-topic too much. He did not breathe and he rarely blinked, similar to a statue.
Or she supposed he was more like a phantom, with his abilities that he had used to help them all escape Arkham when they had attracted too many guards’ attentions.
Although he was creepy and he made the temperature of her living room drop several times, he had helped them all and he was very polite. She couldn’t find any real fault in him except the way her instincts wanted her to not look at him directly, like a haunted painting.
“So now that we’re free, what do you wanna do?” Harley asked. Selina focused back on the conversation, as Wraith hummed and Ivy and Harley turned to look at her with various levels of eagerness.
“There’s a new jewelry exhibit opening up tomorrow. Want to take some diamonds?” Selina asked, speaking up as she glanced at Wraith.
Wraith hummed. “Thank you, but I think I’ll decline. If any of you need help, I am willing to offer my services, but—”
“Is Nightwing still in Gotham?” Harley asked, interrupting Wraith, who glared at her.
Selina raised an eyebrow. “Yeah. He’s still visiting.”
“Actually, I would love to assist you three in any way. My powers are at your service. What time are we going to the exhibit tomorrow?” Wraith suddenly said, looking very eager. Selina blinked at the whiplash before looking at Harley and Ivy, who both looked amused.
It was Ivy who mouthed the words, ‘He likes Nightwing,’ to her, which made her hold back a laugh.
She could remember that little Robin that used to cheerfully break someone’s face with a flying somersault, and that same little boy had grown up into a vigilante with almost flying abilities with the way he moved and fought. Wraith was a criminal, since he was in Arkham, but he didn’t seem too bad. In a way, it reminded her of her and Bruce.
“Well. I think Ivy and Harley can take the other vigilantes, right? I can take Batman and you’ll take Nightwing?” Selina said. Wraith perked up and nodded happily.
How cute. She was so not telling Bruce about this beforehand, so she could laugh about his expression later.
A day passed, and the four of them traveled to the museum when it was night. By now, news of Harley and Ivy being broken out was already known, so security had gotten a little more strict. Still, it was nothing with all of their expertise and Wraith’s unexplained meta abilities. They snuck in easily and looted all of the gold, gems, jewelry, and antiques they saw.
“Where’s your bag?” Selina asked, as she eyed Wraith holding some pearls and gems without a bag to contain it. He was dressed in a dark leather suit that had been originally Bruce’s cat suit— it was nice to hope that he would join her one day— but was now repurposed for Wraith. Her question was answered with a small smile from Wraith as he shoved his hand into his chest, making the gems disappear. Her eyebrows rose but she just gave a nod and moved on.
After that, the bigger and heavier items were given to Wraith to keep. Selina was almost a little worried by how much they trusted him, but Harley didn’t seem to notice and only she and Ivy had some anxiety about it. However, Wraith didn’t seem to care either, and listened to their expertise without any hesitation. It was probably because he was younger than them by at least a decade, she realized.
He was extremely fascinating, and Selina suddenly understood why Harley was so interested in him like a scientist towards a petri dish.
The Gotham heroes finally arrived, just as they loaded up everything in the car. Wraith perked up when he saw Nightwing amongst the vigilantes coming towards them.
Selina couldn’t help but laugh at the sudden cheer on his usually bored or blank expression.
“Okay, Harley, Ivy, you two go back to the hideout. Wraith, you can take me away if we need to, right?” Selina asked, smiling as she recalled Wraith’s intangibility and invisibility abilities yesterday.
Wraith nodded and the other two drove off without hesitation, leaving Selina and Wraith facing the Gotham vigilantes. Wraith wagged his clawed fingers in a greeting at Nightwing, smirking broadly.
“Hello, Nightwing. It’s good to see you again,” he purred. Selina was watching the spectacle gleefully, occasionally glancing at Batman’s covered expression, wondering if she was going to see a good show today.
Nightwing faltered in his steps before he shook his head as if to clear his thoughts. However, he answered pleasantly, “Hello, Wraith. I see you’ve befriended the Sirens.”
“Mhm. They helped me a lot so I could see you again.”
Nightwing’s cheeks darkened but through the shadows, Selina felt like she could see a bit of red on his face. “I see. Well, I’ll have to ask you guys to give up the jewelry you stole. We can do this the hard way or the easy way.”
“Please do the hard way,” Wraith purred again, even throatier than before. Selina had to choke on her giggles as Batman stiffened in horror, staring between his oldest son and the criminal.
Nightwing coughed and took out his escrima sticks. “Well, you’re under arrest, Wraith. Surrender and we won’t have to—”
“Oh my god, just fight him! Stop flirting!” Spoiler screamed and then they all flew into action. Selina took out her whip, but before she could make a move, Wraith darted at her, wrapped his arms around her, and then turned invisible before they flew off through the walls.
Selina blinked rapidly as she watched the museum grow smaller and smaller into the distance. “… you could fly the entire time?”
“Hmm? Oh yes, I’m very strong.” There was a touch of deep arrogance in Wraith’s voice. Then he sighed, “But I was told not to make too much trouble. So it’s better to make an early escape than stick around.”
“I would’ve thought that you would’ve stayed to flirt with Nightwing some more,” Selina teased.
“It’s weird to flirt in front of his siblings,” Wraith said in distaste as they flew over the building roofs and past the clouds to Selina’s hideout. “I’ll find another day to fight him without voyeurs around.”
Selina burst into laughter. Yeah, she could completely understand why Ivy and Harley wanted to take him in now. He really was quite interesting.

British Royal Family || Day 2 of Royal Ascot
Queen Camilla wore the elaborate diamond and turquoise jewel was one of the wedding presents given to the future Queen Mary in 1893 by her parents-in-law, King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra (then Prince and Princess of Wales).
Intriguingly, Camilla paired the brooch on Wednesday with diamond and turquoise earrings that appear to match the brooch’s design. I don’t know if these were made at the same time as the brooch, or made later to match the antique jewel’s design. The late Queen never wore these earrings, to my knowledge. They’re almost certainly clips, which means that they’re perhaps better suited to Camilla than to the the late Elizabeth II.
The Princess Royal accessorized with favorite pieces from her jewelry collection. Her gold earrings feature cabochon sapphires and pearl drops. She also wore her favorite gold and diamond equestrian brooch, pinned alongside her badges for the day.
The Duchess of Edinburgh wore a new simple pair of diamond hoop earrings on the anniversary of her wedding to Prince Edward.

Chapter 2 - Night Encounter
Skye's room was plunged in gloom, illuminated only by the silver moonlight filtering through the velvet curtains. The air was heavy with anticipation as Skye stood in front of the mirror.
The long-tailed black gown fitted her figure like a second skin. The white corset, delicately embroidered with silver threads, enhanced her waist and highlighted her cleavage. Mother-of-pearl buttons glittered along the bodice, and Skye made sure each one was perfectly fastened.
Black leather trousers clung to her legs, and tall white boots completed the ensemble.
Her hair was pulled back in a low bun with 2 side braids, exposing the silver piercings that adorned her right ear.
She also wore earrings from which hung a small diamond heart on a silver chain.
Skye looked at herself in the mirror, adjusting the white corset carefully. The moonlight outlined her figure when she heard a voice behind her.
"Where are you going all dressed up at this hour, your highness?"
Skye pursed her lips. The damned smokeball always appeared at the worst time. Through the reflection in the mirror, she saw the Cheshire Cat, Chessur, his smirk hovering in the air.
"Why don't you evaporate somewhere else, Chess?"
The cat blinked, as if considering the question. Then his smile widened.
"Because, my dear Skye, this is my favorite place to pop up. Besides, where would the fun be if I didn't bother you at the most inopportune times?"
Skye rolled her eyes. Chessur always had an answer for everything.
She turned to confront Chessur, but he was gone. Only a faint trail of smoke remained. It was then that Chessur appeared leaning on her shoulder.
"So, are you going to tell me where you're going, princess?"
"None of your business."
Chessur decided to get on her nerves, standing in front of her. "I'm not sure the queen feels the same way," he said.
Skye gritted her teeth. There were limits to her patience. She drew her sword quickly and tried to cut the cat in half, but it vanished again, leaving Skye cutting a faint trail of smoke.
"My, my... What a temper," Chessur replied behind her. Skye was sure that someday this damn cat would drive her crazy. She sighed and sheathed her sword again, turning to confront Chessur.
"You're not going to say anything to the queen, or anyone else, not a word. Because if you don't, I swear on the jabberwacky I'll find a way to evaporate you forever."
Without waiting any longer, she turned and walked out of the room, leaving the cat and his floating smile behind.
After her confrontation with the Cheshire Cat, Skye moved stealthily through the corridors of the palace. The moon still illuminated her path, and every shadow seemed to whisper a secret to her. The doors to the guest rooms were closed, and guards patrolled the corridors.
Skye remembered a secret passage she had discovered years ago. It led to the library, where a seemingly ordinary bookshelf concealed a back door. Knowledge of that passage had served her well on more than one occasion.
Her heart pounding, Skye reached the library. She pushed the bookshelf carefully, revealing the hidden door. The passageway was narrow and dark, but Skye advanced without hesitation. The damp air and smell of antiquity enveloped her as she descended a stone staircase.
Finally, she emerged into a garden behind the palace. She could not risk taking a horse from the royal stables; if any of the guards noticed that any of the horses were missing, her plans could go wrong.
So she started walking towards the border through the forest, going through the village would be quicker, but also riskier.
The forest closed in around her, the trees forming a canopy of leaves that barely let the moonlight through. Skye plodded forward, the crunch of branches beneath her boots echoing in the stillness of the night. But she was not alone.
She didn't need to turn to know who it was. Bander was following her. His yellow eyes glowed in the shadows, and his dark fur blended into the undergrowth.
"I know it's you, Bander."
With a sigh, Skye turned, facing the imposing animal. Bander emerged from the trees, his gaze sad and his ears flat. He looked embarrassed at having been discovered.
"What are you doing here, Bander?" asked Skye.
Bander let out a soft grunt, as if searching for the right words. Skye knew he couldn't speak, but his expression said more than enough.
"No, you're not coming with me," replied Skye, Bander tried to put on his best puppy dog eyes, which made Skye smile. She reached over and petted him. "Sorry big guy, but I can't let you near the Queen of Hearts castle, it's too dangerous" Skye said, Bander whined, clearly disgusted by the answer. Skye sighed.
"Fine, you can accompany me to the border, but nothing more, then go home," Skye said, and Bander wagged his tail, happy with the deal. Bander was about to give her a lick, but Skye jumped away.
"Not today big guy, I have to make myself presentable for Bridget," replied Skye, "Come on, let's go, I have a dance to attend."
The walk to the border was quiet. Skye looked down every so often to check that her outfit looked good, she wanted to impress Bridget. There was something about the encounter that morning, something that made Skye feel different, it was the first time in a long time that she felt like she really lived, that encounter felt real, Bridget wasn't pretending, she wasn't looking to get close to her for her power, considering she was a princess too.
Skye had grown up in a home marked by expectations and perfection, a home where she didn't fit in, because to her mother's chagrin, she wasn't perfect. She was impulsive, rebellious, adventurous and always getting into trouble or looking for trouble, and in a world where perfection was demanded, she was the only black dot on a sheet of paper.
But Bridget's feelings were genuine, after all, she had asked her to her mother's ball. How could she refuse, how could she say no to experiencing that feeling of reality again.
When they reached the border, Skye said goodbye to Bander before approaching the secret passageway in the wall, covered by a curtain of ivy that concealed an opening in the border.
She still remembers how she discovered that escape for her life, it was a day like any other, she had argued with her mother, who wanted to organise a dinner with her court, and wanted Skye to wear one of her tight dresses with hundreds of unnecessary jewels, instead of wearing her usual leather jackets and comfortable clothes.
"You have to look presentable for once Skye. Is that so hard?" she said. "Behave like a princess for once and pretend, if only for one night, that you're part of royalty, part of this family."
That was the last straw, Skye ran out of her room, ignoring her mother, who was shouting her name, and escaped from the palace, managing to easily throw off the pursuing guards.
She ran into the forest, letting her feet guide her, she was too angry to think of a place to go, then she came to the border wall. And that only made her angrier, she knew there was no escape from her world, no place to run. They had closed the door on her freedom, limiting it.
In her outburst, she threw a stone at one of the ivy-covered areas of the wall, but it didn't bounce off, it went right through.
Skye, confused, reached over, and with her hand moved the ivy curtain, there was a hole, big enough for even Bander to fit through.
She looked back for a moment, hesitant to cross to the other side, but perhaps this could be the doorway to the freedom she desired. So she stepped through the gap in the wall, eventually finding another curtain of ivy, hiding the hole at the other side.
And when she stepped through it, her breath caught. The landscape was beautiful, full of vibrant colours, something she never thought she could see.
She knew that crossing the border meant she was in the Kingdom of Hearts, but she didn't care, this was her escape route to freedom.
From that day on, crossing the border into the other kingdom became a regular occurrence, day or night.
Now she was facing her secret entrance, no longer crossing the border to explore, she was crossing the border to meet Bridget at a royal ball, with that girl with the pink hair and the smile that Skye wouldn't mind seeing every day of her life.
She was worth the risk.
Bridget stood in front of the mirror while one of her maids finished adjusting her dress.
It was a light shade of pink, sleeveless, with a ruffled skirt that came to just below her knees. It had a flower pattern in a darker shade of pink. Bridget was nervous, she hoped this dress would impress Skye.
She didn't even know why she felt this way, but she wanted to surprise Skye. Her thoughts drifted to Skye's figure, that snow white hair, her blue eyes that lived up to her name, her melodic laugh, and those lips that-
Bridget blushed and cursed herself for thinking about such things. It hadn't even been a day since she'd met Skye, but there was something about her that made Bridget want to see her soon, to hear that laugh every day, and to feel something inside her warm up again knowing that she'd made that angelic sound.
Bridget smiled unconsciously, drawing the attention of a new figure in her room, she had been so deep in thought that she hadn't noticed who had entered.
"You seem very happy today, my dear."
Bridget looked through the reflection of the mirror at her mother, who was watching her with a mixture of affection and curiosity. Bridget couldn't help but blush.
"I'm just happy for the ball," Bridget replied, there was no way to explain to her mother that her happiness had been brought about by a certain white-haired princess who had crossed the border to explore her kingdom.
Her mother hummed at the answer, she knew her daughter was like a radiant sun, full of kindness and joy, but this joy was different, she was excited, and she was sure there was more to it.
"Is there someone waiting for you tonight?" her mother asked. Bridget didn't want to lie to her, so she decided to blurt out a half-truth. "Maybe," she merely replied. Which made her mother raise an eyebrow curiously, a knowing smile on her face.
"May I know who is?" her mother tried. Bridget smiled, "I'm afraid not, besides, I don't know if she'll show up, I invited her to the dance, but she might not come, maybe she doesn't think I'm worth it, maybe-"
Her mother got up and walked over to her daughter as she raved. She held her face in her hands, interrupting Bridget's monologue.
"Darling, I assure you that any second with you is completely worth it, and I am sure that if she knows how to value you, she will show up, and if she doesn't, it's because she doesn't know how to see the best when it's right in front of her. And in that case, I want first and last name," her mother said.
Bridget hugged her, melting into her mother's affection.
After saying goodbye to her mother, Bridget finished fixing her hair, preferring to let her wavy pink hair fall over her shoulders. She carefully placed her tiara on her head, and smiled at her reflection in the mirror.
Bridget fiddled with the hem of her skirt as she waited in the palace gardens. The ball had already begun, and she stood for a while greeting the court and her mother's guests, then wandered away from the crowd towards the gardens, but not before receiving a knowing glance from her mother.
She stood in front of the small palace pond, fireflies flew over the water and the sky, making it look like she was surrounded by hundreds of lights.
"Wow cupcake, you have to stop stealing my breath if you want me to live."
Bridget turned to look at Skye, and in that moment, she was the one who stole Bridget's breath.
Her eyes roamed Skye's figure from head to toe, the black long-tailed suit fitted her figure as if it was made just for her. The white corset, delicately embroidered with silver threads, enhanced her waist and highlighted her cleavage, causing a slight blush to form on Bridget's cheeks.
Black leather trousers clung to her legs, and tall white boots completed the ensemble.
Her hair was pulled back in a low bun with 2 side braids, exposing her full face, and damn, if Bridget already thought Skye was beautiful, this only doubled her thoughts.
"I hope I didn't take too long, it took me longer than I expected to dodge the guards," said Skye as she approached. And it was then that Bridget became aware again of the reality they were in, their worlds were separated by a border, their families were enemies and even this sneaking meeting was a reflection of the rift that separated them.
The sound of music coming from the ballroom was like an echo, but it was loud enough to keep up with the rhythm of the song.
"Well, what do you say princess, may I have this dance?" Skye made a graceful reference as she held out her hand for Bridget to take.
Princess… Even though Skye had called her that before, there was something in her tone, something that Bridget was sure that if what Skye wanted to get her as hot as an oven, she was getting it.
Bridget, with a slight blush, accepted Skye's hand. "It will be a pleasure, your highness," she replied, the nickname making Skye giggle, a light, melodic laugh for Bridget.
Oh girl, you're going to be my ruin.
Skye pulled Bridget to her, her hands finding their place on Bridget's hips, and Bridget's arms tightened around Skye's neck, as if they were two pieces of a puzzle that had just fit together.
They began to dance, moving to the music, as if the whole world had disappeared and only the two of them existed.
For Bridget, each step was a revelation. She felt the firmness of her grip and the gentleness with which she guided her. Her thoughts swirled, wondering how someone who should be her enemy could make her feel so safe, so understood. Every turn and every movement seemed synchronized, as if they had been dancing together all their lives.
Skye, for her part, couldn't take her eyes off Bridget. The light from the lanterns reflected in her brown eyes, and her smile was a beacon in the darkness. Skye caught herself wishing the dance would never end. In that intimate moment, she realized that Bridget could understand her in a way that no one else did.
The garden faded around them, and only the two of them were left, moving in perfect harmony. Bridget could feel Skye's heartbeat, and wondered if Skye could feel hers. The closeness was intoxicating, and for a moment, Bridget forgot all the tensions and conflicts surrounding them.
Skye was lost in her thoughts as well. Every time her eyes met Bridget's, she felt a deep connection, as if their souls were destined to meet. The music, the garden, everything faded in comparison to the intensity of that moment. Skye knew she was crossing a dangerous line, but she couldn't help it. She was drawn to Bridget in a way she had never experienced before.
The dance continued, and with each step, Skye and Bridget grew closer, not just physically, but emotionally. In that magical garden, under the light of the fireflies, they found a refuge in each other's arms, a place where they could be themselves without fear or reservation.
And so, as the music continued to play and the stars twinkled in the sky, Skye and Bridget realised that, despite everything, they seemed made for each other. In that intimate moment, dancing in the garden, they found a connection that would change their lives forever.
Bridget felt an irresistible urge. She leaned into Skye, their lips about to meet. Skye did the same, their hearts beating in unison, anticipating the kiss they so desired.
"Well, your highness. This I didn't expect."
Skye and Bridget broke off abruptly, turning to see the Cheshire Cat hovering behind them, his trademark grin lighting up the darkness. The moment had faded, but the spark between them still burned.
Oh... Skye was definitely going to evaporate this cat.
"What are you doing here Chess? I think it was pretty clear from our conversation that what I had to do was none of your business," said Skye.
Chessur evaporated, appearing over Bridget's shoulder. "In our conversation you forgot to mention that you had a date," Chessur replied, looking at Bridget with his trademark smile.
"I'm sure that went into 'None of your business'" said Skye. At that moment all she wanted was for the damn cat to disappear and resume her interrupted moment with Bridget.
"Well, your highness, I'm sorry to interrupt your moment, but I thought you should know that your mother knows of your absence and has deployed the royal guard to search for you," Chessur replied, Skye sighed, to her chagrin, she knew she had to get back.
She turned to Bridget, who was clearly not amused that her moment was going to end so soon.
"It's been a pleasure princess, but I must return to the White Kingdom," Skye apologised, a sad smile on her face.
Bridget nodded. "I understand," she said. Skye walked over to her and grabbed her hand. "Tomorrow I'll probably have a lot of explaining to do, but I want you to meet me in two days at the place where we first met" she said. Bridget felt a spark of hope ignite inside her at the promise of another meeting with Skye.
"I'll be there."
Skye smiled before she leaned closer to Bridget and placed a soft kiss on her cheek. "I'll be waiting for you, princess"
Skye disappeared into the darkness, the night hiding her like camouflage. And Bridget stood there, her hand reached for the spot on her cheek where Skye had kissed her, she couldn't stop a smile from spreading across her face, their moment may be over too soon, but the promise of that new encounter was enough for her.
Little did Bridget know that that secret meeting hadn't been so secret after all, a pair of eyes watched her from one of the palace balconies.
"Would you like to explain to me where you've been Skye?" her mother asked.
After crossing the border, Skye had intentionally let herself be found by her mother's guards near the castle. And they had taken her to the throne room, where her mother, with a tired look from staying up and a look that Skye knew could only mean one thing, disappointment, was waiting for her.
The room was adorned with silk tapestries and furniture carved from ebony wood. The throne, with its high back and embroidered cushions, stood in the centre. Her mother sat there, her snow-white gown contrasting with the dark velvet of the throne.
"I couldn't sleep, I went for a walk around" Skye lied, her mother sighed. "Out for a walk? Dressed in a halfway acceptable manner?", Skye couldn't help but roll her eyes, for once she was dressed up, even her mother didn't think it was good enough.
"Where did you go Skye?" her mother asked, she got up and started to walk over to her.
Skye lied again, it was clear this wasn't going to end well. ‘I was strolling through the gardens. I needed some fresh air.’
But her mother didn't believe her, "You can't lie to me. That's not the behaviour of a future queen" she said, it was clear that was all she cared about.
Skye pursed her lips, feeling the tension in the room. "I have done nothing wrong, mother"
Her mother watched her, her expression implacable. "Where have you really been? With who?" she asked, beginning to get fed up with her daughter's attitude.
"It's none of your business"
She should definitely look for a better answer.
Her mother grabbed her arm tightly. "It is! You are my daughter, and not only that, you are next in succession to the throne of the White Kingdom. You can't keep behaving like this. You must live up to your position" she said.
Skye clenched her fists, feeling anger bubbling up inside her. "Live up to what, your impossible expectations? I don't want to be like you, mother. I don't want to be queen"
Her mother grabbed her by the collar of her robe, her voice low and dangerous. "You must learn to rule, to make hard decisions. You can't spend your life wandering the kingdom and doing as you please" she said.
Skye let go, her gaze defiant. "I don't want to rule like you. I don't want to be a puppet in your hands. You've always wanted to mold me in your image, but I'm not yours"
The sound echoed through the room, and Skye felt the sting on her cheek, it hurt far more than Skye remembered.
She holds herself in place, her cheek burning and her chest aching as she fights her instinct to cry.
She won't give her mother the pleasure of knowing she made her cry.
"I wish you hadn't been my mother. I wish I had not been born in this kingdom"
Her mother grabbed her by the wrist, her eyes defiant. "This isn't over, Skye. You can't escape your destiny"
Skye let go abruptly. "Yes, it is over"
And without looking back, she stalked out of the throne room, leaving her mother staring blankly into the darkness.
"So Princess Bridget of Hearts? It's clear you like danger your highness" said Chessur, Skye watched him through her dressing table mirror as she finished removing her hair, the red mark on her cheek was evident, it stood out thanks to her pale skin, but if Chessur saw it, he preferred not to say anything.
"For your sake Chess, I hope you keep your mouth shut" growled Skye.
But we were talking about the Cheshire cat, for whom not telling a secret was as irresistible as a ball of wool.

The seventh and final outfit of "Death Defying Feats" (Season 3, Episode 1) is a beautiful black net dress decorated with silver vines and a gold floral headpiece.
Known as the "Tarnished Net" dress, this gorgeous gown is made of a black silk slip underneath a black netting embroidered with a burnished gold floral design, with a wide elaborate lace border. The dress itself is a simple wrap dress, with wide shoulder straps and fastened together at the waist with a 1920's clasp shaped into a lily pad with decorative pearls that belonged to costume designer Marion Boyce.
Phryne accessorizes her gown with a beautiful wrap made of antique tulle with a similar wide burnished gold lace border to match the edging of the black netting of the dress itself. Her hairpiece is a complimentary metallic gold floral decoration set onto a comb. Diamond cluster earrings and a burnished gold ring finish off the look.

Festooned in Flowers: A Victorian Fashion Trend of the 1870s and 1880s
Artificial flowers are much used both for hair ornaments and as trimming on the gown – the largest size roses possible made of silk or velvet in black, white, or different colors with the dewdrop effect of rhinestones or diamonds. – Vogue, 1901
Some dresses, such as the gown below, were trimmed with elaborate garlands of flowers.
Right: Gustave Boulanger (French, Portrait de Madame Lambinet, née Nathalie Sinclair • 1887 • Musée Lambinet, Versailles
Left: Rogelio de Egusquiza y Barrena (Spanish, 1845-1915) • The End of the Ball • 1879
Flower garlands appeared draped over the entire gown, or just the skirt of a gown. Flower clusters were also popular on the shoulder, the middle of the neckline, and on a strategic placement where the fabric was gathered. Sometimes it seems they were used everywhere at once.
The Art of Dressing Well. A Complete Guide to Economy, Style and Propriety, published in 1870 advises:
“Yet, even in the full dress requisite for evening parties, the rule should be to dress well, becomingly, and appropriately, but not obtrusive, and above all, not gaudily, or too much. It is a crime against good taste to be too much in excess of the company, yet care must be bestowed upon the costume, the hostess expects it, and the guests observe its neglect. It is the test of good taste to be in the foremost rank of guests for appropriate dress, but never in advance of others."
Hmmm...it seems to me through today's lens that the antique gown in the photo above is "too much".
Short, or what we now call cap sleeves, were essential for formal evening wear in any season, as were sleeveless dresses. Off-the-shoulder and low-necklines were also very popular.
Glittering jewelry was often worn – necklaces in double-strands, dangle earrings, bracelets, and pearls. Some fashion plates and gowns in museums show women wearing a thin velvet ribbon around the neck.
Long gloves were a must. Hats were not considered appropriate in formal wear but fancy comb and pins were. As stated above, fabric flowers were also often used to decorate hairstyles that were mostly up-dos. Feathers were sometimes also tucked into the hair. Some hairstyles were very elaborate. And then there is the ubiquitous fan; either held closed or open to show off a special design.

Diamond Mirabel au
Mirabel’s room & gift info:
Ok so first things first, Mirabel can make diamonds, glass, geodes, gems, jewels, crystals, gold & pearls.
Her room has all types of books that are written about diamonds, glass, geodes, gems, jewels, pearls, & crystals. Some are spiritual based and some are based on, obviously, different kinds.
She also has books on all the different types of jewelry she can make, fashion wise.
Yes, all of the things listed are extremely rare in encanto so her gift is in high demand.
Mirabel also discovered that she can make crystal/diamond/glass roses or flowers. So she can technically do what Isabela does, just differently.
You want gold earrings? got it. You want a crystal crown? Got it. You want comfortable glass slippers like cinderella? Got it. You want a diamond ring? Got it. You want a personalized gold brush & mirror set? Got it. Any sort of antique vanity set? Got it.
I do think diamond rings would kick off when some men or women would ask her for a diamond ring for wedding purposes. They would say something along the lines of “I want her/him/them to know she/he’s/their as special as a diamond” or something like that.
She can also make different types of perfume bottles but that takes a little longer seeing as she has to draw them out before she can make them appear, same with crowns.
So this is technically what I vision for her room; The “Mansion” Entrance
The room in front of the stairs is the jewelry room and the upper room behind the chandelier is Mirabel’s room. Next to that room (right side of the chandelier) is Antonio’s room, he can sleep there whenever he wants. Next to his room is Camilo’s, he and Mira are besties in this au because I said so. On the left of Mirabel’s room is Luisa's, she can come in whenever she wants.
Her room is technically a house within a house.
But let me make this clear, the entrance is NOT pink, it’s anything along the blue family spectrum.
Her room is a mishmosh of the colors in her family. The walls are mostly blue but since the walls are also diamond they sometimes show off different colors such as green, yellow, purple, orange, red, etc.
Inside the Jewelry room;
Instead of chairs and seats, imagine a more jewelry store look to it. If that makes sense.
The stuff hanging off the walls are pearls and small crystals. On the left side and right side are necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, & chokers on display in glass cases. On the farther end in the middle are where crowns and glass shoes are sold.
If you want anything in particular from her you're gonna have to leave a note in the notebox by the Jewelry store door or speak to her upfront. Either way you have to write down what you want because she has many requests.
Her “mansion” also kind of serves as a mood ring almost, when she’s upset the mansion will be red, when she’s sad her room is a deep dark blue, when she's happy her room is a more brighter/pastel blue-ish color.
But for some reason she never notices unless someone points it out.
Also, as a villager, you don’t get to demand what you want and expect her to give it to you right then and there. She’s gonna hurt your feelings and toss you out.
“Who do I look like, Isabela? Get out of my room AND my house AND casita”
And her parents will make it clear that you will not step foot into the madrigal house again, you’ll be lucky if you get an arepa if you're hurt.
Also, no one has a say over her gift. Mira works when she wants. Her gift isn’t that taxing, Pedro made sure of that, but if she’s tired, she’s not gonna work. Plain and simple.
Forgot to mention, nothing she creates that seems fragile isn’t fragile at all. Anything she makes will last for a very long time.
Her bathroom:
and lastly. her bedroom:
just think of her bed in the middle of all the crystals, with pearls and diamonds dangling down above her. I was going to add a dining room, but she eats downstairs in casita with everybody else.
And yes, she still does sew and plans on opening her own jewelry & boutique store when she’s old enough to.
in the next lil tidbit I'll talk about her relationship with the family, mainly her and Isabela.
Bye I was so confused until I read further. I da was like “that’s an apartment ⁉️”. But anyway. So rad. Very big room, almost too big. Like idfk feel scared asf 💀 but she’s not always alone, so that works too. Shoutout to Camilo for being friends. I also love au’s where they’re also best friends. They’re so cool. Also Luisa and Antonio being her biggest support RAHHHHHHH 🦅🦅🦅
He thinks it’s the funniest thing to say “It smells like poor in here.”

melody….!!!
Do you think suo would choose the classic diamond ring or something more classy like pearl……..
SCREAMING CRYING PUNCHING THE FUCKING FLOOR MINO I LOVE YOU LETS KEEP TALKING ABT IT WHILE IM CRYING STILL
So, in my humble opinion, I think that I'd mention to him literally once, just once, the type of jewelry I like (gold and classic/dainty), and he'd take that and fucking run.
And??? He'd absolutely want to make it so so so sentimental for the both of us. So... what does he do?
He would absolutely try to find an antique wedding ring for me. And he'd know that I love it because I'm all about thrifting and vintage items. But? He'd have to do so much looking around, would probably have notifications on his phone for when there are estate sales in the area, and he'd try his absolute hardest to make sure that I don't know what he's doing or what he's up to.
Because of that, it'd probably have to be a classic diamond, but I wouldn't put it past him to get the stone altered hehe. And I know he would, so ....
He gets the stone to be altered to a ruby. So that it matches his earrings.
..... IM CRYING AGAIN JUST LOOKING AT THE PICS URGIEHG
MINO I LOVE YOU TY YOU HAVE MY HEART AND THEN SOME ♡♡
#melody talks (& talks & talks & talks)#mysuo#hehe its my selfship name with suo y'all see that#anyways crying sobbing punching the walls rn#♡.Mino!#just so we're both on the same page I'm still listening to our wedding playlist while writing this#tears haven't dried yet but im using a fan for my lashes so its cool#melody talks (& loves it)

“Whenever Diana Ross goes shopping in Paris, it is a sign of what a famous person’s charisma can do. One day, she wanted some trinkets to wear to go dancing. After having lunched with friends at Maxim’s, her mile-long stretch limousine (something rare even in Paris) pulled up, and she was the first outside on the sidewalks in her floor-length sables at noon. Off she cruised to E. Oxeda, the Faberge of antique jewelers. Inside, she threw her sables on a chair. She jumped up on a Louis Something desk, her fake hair flying at half-mast. She crossed her legs, dangled them as she selected in ten minutes an antique pearl necklace, a diamond clip and some earrings that did the shake, rattle and roll between her cheeks and hair. The image of fame came when the bill was drawn up. “Would you like some identification?” asked Diana. Mme Oxeda said: “No, Miss Ross. We will deliver the jewels to your hotel this afternoon before six.” And this was a high Saturday when no banks could be called to verify her astronomical check, drawn on a bank across the Atlantic Ocean. It could have easily been an imposter, a drag queen, a professional thief. But Diana Ross’ super glamour is so authentic, it can’t easily be imitated.”
/ Andre Leon Talley in the book Mega-Star (1984) /
All hail the Queen! Call her Miss Ross! Happy 80th birthday to durable, volatile veteran pop diva, occasional (Oscar nominated) actress, sequin enthusiast, all-round glamour icon and one of Detroit’s finest daughters – the fabulous Diana Ross (born 26 March 1944)! Understandably everyone loves Ross’ music (both with the Supremes and solo), but I particularly treasure Ross’s spectacular 1975 film Mahogany in which she plays a struggling aspiring fashion designer who achieves the pinnacle of supermodel mega-stardom in Italy. It’s an unassailable so-bad-it’s-GREAT camp classic in the tradition of Valley of the Dolls, Mommie Dearest or Showgirls (and Ross’s outrageous costume and wig changes surely sparked the imagination of generations of Black drag queens, including “Mama Ru” himself). Fittingly, La Ross is currently one of the official muses of Saint Laurent’s Spring / Summer 2024 campaign – and it feels like a belated Mahogany moment! Portraits by David Sims.

DCA Info Part 32: Meet Jinlong Esi 🐲
Jinlong Esi (ジンロン・エシ, Jinron Eeshi) is the dorm leader of Dragonstone. She comes from a race of dragons and desires to prove her worth.
History
Jinlong was born and raised in the Valley of Clouds, a city where other dragonkin live. Jinlong is the only girl in a family of four boys, she's unable to do much due to her homeland's traditions.
When Jinlong was a child, she was taught to fix damaged antiques and relics and she keeps the restored relics in a sealed vault.
Overtime, she secretly learned the art of metalsmith from an old dragon who lives in the tallest mountain of the valley and went through a lot of training to be strong and strategic.
Personality
Jinlong is described as a quiet young woman with an aura of coolness and mystery around her. She desires more than anything to prove herself and to prove that she can be just as strong as her brothers.
She only has a few close friends to talk to and even less to spar with because most of them are delicate and she doesn't want to seem like a brute person. Although she may seem composed on the outside, she has a dragon's temper. To calm herself down, she moves out of sight to meditate. It will work if no one bothers her or makes a loud noise.
She mostly keeps to herself because she has a bit of a culture shock at how different everything is at DCA.
Jinlong makes use of anything to solve a problem, sort of like a macgyver kind of problem solving. Even if it sounds ridiculous, if it works then it's not stupid.
Appearance
Jinlong is a young woman in her late teens. She has pale yellow skin, green reptilian like eyes, pointy elf ears, copper brown hair with a portion of it being gold, a pair of gold horns that resemble those commonly seen on eastern dragons and a green tail with the tip being gold and shaped like a flame.
2020 School Uniform
Jinlong wears a blue bolero top with the cuffs having red ribbon detailing shaped like flowers with a blue pearl in the center. Underneath the top is a scarlet red top with a sweetheart bodice, teal colored gem buttons. She also sports a scarlet red overskirt with a gold scale pattern and gold ruffle trim as well as black pants with the ends being red, divided by gold trim and having the same scale pattern as the overskirt. For footwear, Jinlong wears a pair of two toned flats with one side being a solid black and the other being red with the same golden scale patterning. The shoes also have tan soles, gold trim and gold ribbons.
Jinlong accessorizes with a bu yao with a red pin and strands, teal beads and gold detailing that makes it resemble a flower, as well as a pair of gold diamond earrings. Other accessories include a black collar with gold trim, a teal pearl necklace with a circular brooch, and a black belt with various gold ribbons.
2021 School Uniform
Jinlong was changed a bit. Her bolero top now covers her bust and has teal gem buttons, the black collar now resembles a high collar, the pants look simpler and have gold trim, and the shoes have solid colors and have gold trim and flats.
Some new additions include Jinlong's hair being slightly wavy, the bu yao is now red with a white flower that has mint green leaves and a maroon pearl, the earrings are now pearl earrings, red nails, a gold chain belt with red crochet detailing, a scarlet red floral qipao dress with gold trim and gold scales on her tail.
School Statistics
Jinlong Esi is an 18 year old 3rd year student. She is classified as Student #16 and is in Class 3-B. She is a member of the Aviary Club and her best subject is Magic History. Her favorite school subject is Martial Arts because wants to be strong enough to challenge her older brothers. Her least favorite school subject is Party Hosting because she has terrible experiences with hosting parties and it brings back memories of bad experiences. She's good at the subject only because she can't afford to get bad grades but she dislikes it.
For her idol performances, Jinlong has a voice fit for singing traditional folk songs with a shifting tone. But she prefers to sing songs that tell a story rather than just expressing one's feelings.
For her choreography, Jinlong mixes modern dance with traditional Chinese dance sometimes. She has very strong movement almost as if she wields a sword.
Relationships
Family
Not much is known about Jinlong's relationship with her parents, what is known however is that her mother aids her in hiding her secret.
Her relationships with her brothers on the other hand, are rather complicated to say the least...
Ying would constantly remind her to know her place as a daughter of the household since he views going against tradition is equivalent to bringing shame to the family. He even went so far as to physically assault Ushi for raising his voice at him when he defended Jinlong. Thier relationship is so estranged that Jinlong is even comfortable badmouthing about Ying to close friends. She doesn't dare to voice her opinion to his face but she will smack talk him behind his back.
Ushi is more friendly towards Jinlong but is a bit of a coward when it comes to confronting Ying.
She's distrustful of Gou while Tuzi doesn't seem to have a relationship with her at all.
Out of all of her brothers, Hou is the only one she gets along with, he always seeks out to join his sister in her studies and their parents allow it since they see Jinlong providing assistance to a younger sibling.
Pet
Jinlong has a pet Komodo dragon named Rongyu. He likes to lounge around and makes weird noises that sometimes startles Jinlong.
Fellow Students
Jinlong is quite competitive with Evonie. She has little friends to spar with.
Night Raven College Students
Jinlong sympathizes with Leona due to also feeling trapped in the the shadow of their elder sibling.
Romance
Jinlong would want to be with someone who won't treat her like a stereotypical housewife and actually pay attention that she's doing this because she wants to prove herself.
Powers and Abilities
• Magic: Much like her fellow students, Jinlong can use magic.
• Swordplay: Much like her fellow dorm leader, Vidya, Jinlong is known to be a very skilled swordswoman.
• Agility: Jinlong does yoga in her spare time and in turn makes her flexible. Eastern dragons are known to be long and can move their bodies to make themselves look wiggly.
• Blacksmithery: Jinlong is said to be a master blacksmith.
• Fire Breath: Being a dragonkin, Jinlong is able to breathe fire and even uses it to forge and melt metals.
• Acrobatics: Jinlong is said to have a talent for acrobatics.
Unique Magic
Jinlong's unique magic is called "Gold Dragonfire" (最も純粋な金の竜の炎/ゴールド・ドラゴファイア, Gōrudo Doragonfaia; lit. "The Purest Gold Dragon Flame"). She can breathe golden fire that will melt her targets but it won't burn the area.
Voice
According to her bio, Jinlong would be voiced by Ayako Kawasumi, who has voiced many iconic and famous characters throughout her career. Such as Akari Kamigishi from To Heart, Saber from Fate/stay night, and Elie from Rave Master just to name a few.
Trivia
• Her birthday is on July 27th, making her a Leo. She shares her birthday with Leona Kingscholar.
• She is 184 cm tall, making her the tallest of the dorm leaders.

• Jinlong’s Overblot would occur if she would have an argument with either her elder brother or father with the former having the tendency to scold Jinlong in regards to being a household daughter while the latter never tolerates the breaking of tradition and views the world outside of the Valley of Clouds as inferior.
• Jinlong would be a philosopher in the future.
• Jinlong loves moon cakes as a dessert.
• Jinlong would smell like something that smells like incense.
• Jinlong’s signature scent would be a combination of both incense and maybe the sun from training.
• Jinlong’s worst fear is having her hard work wasted for nothing which would prove that her father was right all along.

Costume Jewelry: Costume jewelry is also known as junk jewelry, fake jewelry and fashion jewelry. The costume jewelry was introduced as a cheap jewelry in 1935. Basically costume jewelry is made up of less expensive materials like plastics, synthetic stones, glass etc. It is very cheap as compare with other types of jewelry but it is very attractive. It adds style or beauty in a personality. Costume jewelry can be made up of different types of materials like glass beads, silver and some semi-precious stones. Nowadays, costume jewelry is also made up with precious metals. The value of metal used in the costume jewelry creates a very big difference between cheap and relatively expensive costume jewelry.
There is some antique costume jewelry is also available today. Antique costume jewelry adds elegance in a personality and it will also add some royal touch. Various kinds of antique costume jewelry items are available like earrings, bracelets, bangles and rings. Pearls Jewelry: Pearl jewelry has a very classic look and it has the ability to attract any kind of woman. Basically pearl jewelry has a magical look because of the natural look of pearl. Pearls are naturally created by the oysters. Pearl jewelry is available in various shapes and colors. The most common shapes of pearls are button, coin, rice, potato, oval, circle and many more. Some people also buy expensive jewelry for investment because we all know that the value of gold, diamond and platinum is increasing very rapidly. Gems Jewelry: Nowadays gem stone jewelry is gaining popularity very rapidly because of two reasons. The first reason is their size and second is their unique colors. Usually gem stone jewelry is not very pocket friendly and their price is more than costume jewelry. The cost of the gem stone jewelry depends on which kind of gem stone you are using in your jewelry. The famous gem stones which can be used in jewelry are opals, ruby, topaz, diamond, spinals and aquamarines.
