OP must be a member of the nobility (extremely derogatory)
OP must have enjoyed a sumptuous banquet of roasted pheasant, buttered turnips, creamy mushroom soup, braised hare, warm crusty bread, plum tarts, and fine red wine before they wrote this post 🤣

"Alleged Italian Plotters Nabbed," Border Cities Star. January 2, 1930. Page 8. ---- EXPLOSIVES FOUND IN HOME OF ONE ---- Held as Conspirators In Plan to Assassinate Belgian Royalty ---- PARIS. Jan. 2. - Three Italians were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of plotting against Fascists and in it he home of one of them police found a quantity of high explosives, a number of detonators and other materials for making bombs. The arrests and raid were made by agents of the Surete General, the French Scotland Yard, which bends its efforts particularly toward the protection of the state and of prominent personages. The police alleged that those arrested had maintained relations with Canthio Herneri. who was arrested about a week ago in Brussels, Belgium, and who confessed to a dual plot against the lives of the Belgian royal family as they journeyed to Italy for the wedding of Princess Marie Jose on Jan. 8.
The Havas News agency described the prisoners an Italian newspapermen. Their names were Aberto Cianca. Giuseppe Sarbell and AIberto Farchiani. It was at the home of Cianca that the explosives were found.
The Havas agency indicated that the three were perhaps plotting against the Italian naval delegation which will pass through France en route to the London conference next month. The exact nature of the plot had not been disclosed.
The police of Belgium, France and Italy have redoubled their vigilance in recent weeks because of the evidence that anti-Fascists and Anarchists had planned various forms of violence in connection with, the marriage of the crown prince of Italy.
Berneri disclosed that an attempt had been planned on the lives of King Albert and Queen Elizabeth in Brussels and if that were unsuccessful another attempt would be made on the royal train soon after it entered Italy.
Because of these disclosures the frontiers have been rigidly watched and preparations made for the stationing of additional armed guards at all railway stations through which the Belgian royalty will pass.

Reblogging about my problematic ships and my funky shipping opinions to fully remind everyone in my blog that I do NOT condone purity culture!
No, FICTIONAL media created with FICTIONAL characters with fucked up FICTIONAL scenarios does not, in fact, dictate your real world morals, and I think it's rather odd for you to think in this manner.
Like, please tell me, what differentiates you from the early 2010s moral panic white suburban mom's that raved about videogames causing violence? Or those same conservatives that raved about a DDLC fan who committed suicide, thinking that the game was at fault for it? What separates you from conservatives that think that just hearing about gay people will corrupt the youth of today into the gay agenda?
In case you don't have an answer, here, I'll tell you: nothing. Nothing separates you from them. You're just as morally bankrupt, just as secretly ableist, just as annoying as they all were. The folks on the internet did not spend years debunking these flimsy arguments only for you children to bring it back up again, but this time with new corporate-ass rainbow coated paint on it. You're not special, you're not superior, you're a WASP Karen if one of them was into fandom.
But here's the kicker: even if you were to join the same spaces as the people who hold those opinions, they wouldn't want you, you know why? Because a lot of y'all are queer, are POC , are disabled, and to them you're nothing, they'd burn away all your human rights if they could, and they've tried multiple times, are currently trying to do so. You're not protecting anyone, you're selling your morals to the side of the argument where the people just like you actively fucking hate you, all while pointing your hatred towards the groups that actually are what you're supposedly trying to defend.
I'm POC, I'm autistic, I was SA'd, and I also believe that fiction does not dictate morality, I think antis are immature at best and harmful at worst. You're parroting bigoted views that have been sold as reasonable to you by the moral panic.
You want cringe culture to be dead? You want people to openly be weirdos? You want ableism to stop? Then stop being the fandom police, stop putting down others when they're actually weird, and stop dictating that others should just be "normal".
Anyways, I'll stop yapping now, antis can fuck off, enjoy the rest of my blog or whatever

So, apparently, an adult supervillain whose been terrorizing a city for years, rarely actually shows remorse for his actions and is also a neglectful and controlling parent because of the “death” of his wife is “sympathetic” and “redeemable”
but a teenage girl whose a bully because she has an abusive mother who constantly belittled her and can’t even remember her own name that she so desperately wants the approval of and a father who just spoils her to death, who showed remorse for her actions at times and was actually on the road to changing and becoming a better person after becoming a superhero before it was taken all away from her at the last second is “irredeemable” and “absolutely evil”.
Thomas Astruc’s logic is absolutely ridiculous.

November 3, 2024 - People in Valencia pelted the Spanish King Félipe VI and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez with mud and rocks as they visited the region devastated by deadly floods for a photo-op.
The King was jeered and booed by hundreds with chants of "murderer!" as he visited the town of Paiporta followed by hundreds of police, while people affected by the floods had to fend for themselves for days without the government sending any kind of help. Thousands of volunteers walked to the affected areas to help, because the government closed the roads. [video]

Otto Hightower: “The Realm will not accept her.”
Green stans: “Rhaenyra bred bastards! Westerosi lords will never accept her bastards!”
Rhaenyra Targaryen was supported by 53 Houses, while only 28 supported Aegon.
Rhaenyra also had more Great Houses on her side - Stark, Arryn, Tully, Greyjoy.
Aegon only had two - Lannister, Baratheon.
Oh, and, a direct F&B quote: “Queen’s men had remained, even after the queen herself was dead, and Aegon is reduced to bones and ashes.”

Is it verging on tinfoil hat territory to laugh about how the egg Aegon II failed to hatch after murdering Rhaenyra was purple?
Or could it be an... easter egg?

Look, I don’t hate Aelin, and Chaol is nowhere near a fave character, but if you want to insist that Chaol—at any point in the series, but especially KOA—wanted Aelin dead, you better come with receipts.
I have seen way too many people, especially on tiktok aka the queen of misinformation if it were a website, claim that Chaol was the main perpetrator behind Aelin being chosen to die for the Lock in chapter 91. Yet not a single one of them were ever able to back it up with any proof.
Wanna know why? Because that was not at all what happened.
My plot-related issues with the Lock scene notwithstanding, Aelin was always going to end up being the one to forge it. Not Dorian. Her. It wouldn’t have mattered that he was ready and willing; she would never allow it to be him if she could be the one to die instead. No amount of arguing would have changed Aelin’s mind. The Lock voting scene was about when to do it, not who. It was a matter of when Aelin should die, not if Aelin will be the one.
Rowan couldn’t even get her to vote or change her mind. Dorian couldn’t get her to even reconsider who should pay the price. What made any of you think that Chaol would be able the to sway her?
Chaol never wanted her dead. In fact, he was the only person that made it clear he’d rather this didn’t happen at all, that his friends could both live without the weight of destiny. And even if he were to pick to sacrifice Aelin to spare Dorian: why is that such a crime? Dorian is his King; Chaol was the Hand of Dorian’s kingdom, his former Captain of the Guards, and childhood bestfriend. Dorian was probably the person Chaol loved most, up until Yrene.
It was only natural that he rejected for it to be Dorian, both as a best friend and subordinate. Even then, it was an impulsive interruption and nothing more. It was never meant as a slight against Aelin.
And if Chaol was wrong or a monster or an asshole for not choosing Aelin, have at least the same courtesy and energy for Fenrys and Rowan. Two characters who audibly made it clear they would sacrifice Dorian in a heartbeat to save their queen, when Chaol was the one who said he’d rather his friends didn’t have to die at all.
Yet you lot scream and rage at the only character that had the audacity to love Dorian as much as Aelin’s court love her. Why is Chaol punished for the act of loving Dorian above everything, even Aelin, but Rowan (and the rest of Terrasen’s court) praised to the high heavens for being the same for her? Why was it only acceptable to sacrifice Dorian, but not Aelin? Why make Chaol the asshole, instead of just lamenting that they have to this at all?
Not everything is a slight against Aelin. Get a fucking grip. You can be upset for her, but don’t make it everyone elses problem.

I feel like there were sort of blood-purist undertones to the way GRRM wrote the characters of the Dance and it's sort of a not-so-covert favoritism.
I think one of the most undeniable examples of this are Aegon II and Helaena's (both whom are only half Targaryen) eldest children, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera. The twins suffer birth defects (physical for Jaehaerys, mental for Jaehaera) that are quite obviously the effects of inbreeding. This might just be a misinterpretation on my end, but it kind of leaves this impression Aegon II and Helaena were punished for committing incest when they are not the sort of Targs that get worshipped. This is parallel to the "madness" (birth defects) of Joffrey Lannister because his parents were twins. The Lannisters get condemned for their incest and when they bring up the Targ it's always the same, "you are not Targaryen" thing that gets brought up.
(DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR INCEST, POOKIE. I'M AGAINST IT)
Another thing I consider to be part of this little blood-purity agenda is the difference between the fates of the Strong boys and Daemon's sons. Of course, this may just be because Daemon was GRRM's fave, but Jace, Luke, and Joff all died during the war, Aegon III and Viserys II both became kings afterwards. The former were half Strong, the latter were mostly Targ.
