I just had to share my experience watching Tate no Yuusha, and afterwards reading Yari no Yuusha. I have never seen a series shift the vibe so much; It goes from portraying Naofumi (the protagonist of the series) as this bitter, cunning and powerful man (very much like an isekai protagonist) to "breedable and ultimate waifu of the series who must be protected at all costs". I have never seen such determined manga trying to portray their stallion male protagonist as this malewife, adorable 20 something precious thing. That's our job??? (The fandom)

I have receipts underneath if you are interested. No spoilers and no need to know the plot, just...look at this guy and keep in mind he is the protagonist of a somehow generic isekai shounen...

Please I need you to know this is not the first nor the last time people will fight in Naofumi's name. They will wage war for him (twice).

Ok maybe I am looking into it a bit too much, but I felt there was a suggestive undertone in this part. If it were a female, I would be sure to point it out as light fanservice (having a character talk about a part of their body that can have a suggestive tone)

I am, again, looking into it too much but usually this reaction is reserved for female characters in shounen (hiding their face in their hands as they blush).

These next panels were what prompted me to write this post. In the anime, the heroes of the story fall into despair at some point, and their love interest is responsible for pulling them out of it. BUT FOR MOTOYASU, IT ISN'T FILO BUT RATHER NAOFUMI WHO DOES THE JOB???

They are saying goodbye and Naofumi just had to have this "tragic heroine who will forever love their hero even if they never meet again"

Now that is a very queer thing to say, Naofumi

And this made me laugh so hard like WHERE DID THIS COME FROM???? MY GIRL YUKI SPREADING SUBMISSIVE NAOFUMI AGENDA

Also the mom of the pack alongside dad Motoyasu

In conclusion I love the fact that the spin-off decided to sexualize their 20 year old pathetic man than children. Honestly it made me laugh for a good while.

I did already make a post about RotSH, but man...

I love this anime, it's in my top 3 and the protag is my fav character. Why did they ruin it so fricking much?

The series had so much potential. The 3 heroes could have become better, recognized Naofumi or even died, 3 good tropes. (Also angst. Imagine Naofumi being left alone as the Legendary Hero, and the world doesn't dare to kill him to summon new ones, because at this point killing him is 1. Impossible 2. The dumbest desicion ever. So he collects more daughters (maybe sons even) and spread them across his world to the point when The Shield Gang was waaay better than the 4 Heroes. Man I need to write this).

Naofumi could continue to explore his and other worlds, gaining xp and knowledge, being known as a God across dimensions.

L'arc's world troupe. Their cooperation, Kizuna's and Naofumi's research. Glass's help. Man that was good.

But nooooo, they added like 30 background characters who "play a big role" (I mean really? The tiger girl being Naofumi's "shiled"? Girl he's THE SHIELD HERO. You can't possibly level with him or the shield, go learn archery or something). Ost dying in a few episodes, the Pierro girl....

The other heroes became even more shallow. Motoyase lost his mind, Ren unlocked the Cursed Series after realising after MONTHS that this world is not a game. That troupe could've been way better.

The King's flashbacks and his obsession with the tiger girl.

After reading Yari no Yuusha, I have to share with you all the various moments of Motoyasu being an absolute simp for Naofumi and how they actually make a cute pair in the manga

To start off with Motoyasu blushing with Naofumi calling for him

No but the way Motoyasu sees Naofumi as this wide eye, blushing man-

Ok I gotta comment on this but Motoyasu said various times that he felt Filo's scent on Naofumi but Filo hasn't even been born so I truly believe he just likes Naofumi's scent, in this essay I will-

Had this funny idea that the Four Heroes have their own version of shouting "Marco" and answering "Polo", inspired by this meme

And while Naofumi's world has, and he knows all three versions, the other three only have one each. And because Naofumi's the least likely to get unintentionally lost, he's also usually the one shouting first.

So, things are happening during a Wave, and they need to regroup, but there's too much chaos and fighting and environment to figure out where everyone is. So Naofumi just shouts "WAKE ME UP" at the general surrounding area.

Three answers pop up from completely different directions, each increasingly panicked.

"WAKE ME UP INSIDE!" Ren shouts as he finishes cutting down a monster

"WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS!" Itsuki yells, shocking his party members enough for him to quickly land three hits.

"BEFORE YOU GO GO!" Motoyasu screams as he dodges another monster attack

"Ah, there they are." Naofumi comments

Motoyasu: A sexy mistake.

Naofumi: No, just a regular mistake.
